Chapter Fourteen

Morning had come all too quickly for Mick and Dani. Both were tired from yesturday. Surprisingly, Michelle could smell coffee brewing as she slowly opened her eyes. Brian wa looking out the window onto the beach waiting for the coffee to be done. He was wearing his bsb boxers with a skin tight black tank top. He glanced back at Mick in the bed and saw her open her eyes alittle. "Hey sleepy head." he whispered as she sat beside her on the bed.

"Good morning." she said stretching. She looked over to wake up Dani, but she wasn't next to her.

"She's in Howie's bed." Brian replied.

Mick looked at him in shock. "What?"

"No, No, its nothing like that." he said quickly.

"Howie went home for a week, so Dani took the bed."

"Well then where is Nick?" she asked.

Brian pointed to the other couch next to the bed. "Wasn't Nick supose to sleep in Howie's bed?" she asked in confusion.

Brian shrugged his shoulders as Nick yawned and started to wake up. "Oh Frick you made coffee."

"Move over Frack.", he said trying to push Nick over a little. "Why did you sleep on the couch?"

Nick looked puzzled himself as eh thought for a minute how he ended up on the couch. "Oh yeah, Dani and I were up late watching a movie and she fell asleep. I didn’t want to wake her so I shut off the movie and well here I am." he explained.

"So, I guess you two are okay now?" B-Rok asked with concern. "Yeah, we're friends again." Nick replied with a smile as he got up off the couch.

Brian, still unclear, followed him onto the kitchen. "Nothing…happened last night? Did it?"

Nick looked at him awkwardly. "Don’t ya think I would tell you Frick." he answered. "Besides we're just friends."

Brian laughed. "Friends huh?"

Nick smiled. "Yeah, just friends. Okay Bri.?"

B-rok still stared at him waiting for him to come out with it. "You lie Frack, you lie." he laughed.

Nick shook his head as he poored his coffee. "You're not interested in the slightest bit?" Brian asked again not giving up.

"No!",he replied quickly.

"Come on. You had to have…"

"Yeah okay. I might have thought about it maybe once or twice.", he admitted bashfully.

Brian bursted out laughing as Nick turned bright red with embarrassement. "Oh how the tables have turned Frack." he teased.

"What's goin' on in here boys?" Mick said as she stood in the doorway of the kitchen.

Nick dropped his spoon. "How long have you been standing there?" he asked in absolute horror.

"Long enough Nick. Long enough." she said with an evil smile.

Nick's stomach dropped. "Please don’t say anything Mick."

"I wouldn't do something like that, but I do think that you should go for it kid." she added.

Nick took a deep breath and sipped his coffee as Dani came in the door.

"Go for what?" D asked in confusion.

Nick herd this and started choking.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"Yeah. I’m just a little stressed out here." Nick replied still choking a bit.

B-rok and Mick tried not to laugh, but it was hard. "Whats that smell?" Dani asked.

Brian got up and opened the oven. "Muffins."

They were all starving and they finished them up quickly.

"Hey B-Rok, can I get a shower first?" Mick asked as he was putting the dishes away.

"No problem. Ladies first right?" he said knowing it would piss her off.

"What?" she said giving him a dirty look. "I told you not to start that Bri!" she cried then walked out the door.

Brian had never met anyone like her. He wanted to know more about her and why she did the things she did. He wasn't going to stop until she opened up to him. He finished up the dishes then went to his room to get his cloths ready to take a shower.

"A little hungry are you?" Nick asked as Dani was eating her muffins.

"Yeah. Plane food sucks. It tastes like left overs from last year, not to mention the proportion is for a two year old. It's like a plain Happy Meal." she complained.

Nick smiled and started laughing. "It don’t matter, I like a girl who can eat." Realizing what he had just said, he got up in embarrasement to get another cup of coffee.

Danielle was in shock. She wasn’t sure what he meant by that. Anyway, she didn’t want to know because they were friends now and nothing was gonna change.

"So, what do you say we hit the arcade this afternoon?" he asked as he sat back down at the table.

"Yeah. That would be really cool!" she exclaimed.

Nick had a smile on his face that stretched from ear to ear. There was something about her that made him smile. He couldn't for the life of him figure out why he was so interested in this fourteen year old girl, but had feelings for her and they werent about frienship.
