Description


Don't confuse the Dire Wolf with the Were Wolf. Though they may at times look similar, they are nothing alike! A mistake many poor victims have learned the heard way. The Dire Wolf is a human-beast hybrid created during war in an act of desperation to win... only to be tossed aside upon victory and left to fend for themselves. They are ferocious looking, frighteningly tall with big teeth and claws; their body looks like that of a giant wolf, but one that walks upright (bipedal). Their demeanor though is gentle and meek, and they abhor violence since their creation twisted them so drastically.

Requirements For Play

Appearance


  • Looks like a giant wolf (2 to 3 times the size), but can interchange being bipedal or quadrupedal.

  • Natural wolf colorings of fur.

  • Eyes are blue as pups, then turn: Amber, gold, brown, gray, yellow, or green.

  • Muscular, fierce, wild appearance.

Race Perks


  • +30 LP at Registration

  • Choice of Quadrupedal or Bipedal. When quadrupedal, can carry 1 person of same weight or less on back. Halved dodge and no attack w/ passenger.

  • +3 Running, +1 Intimidation, +2 Smell, +2 Hearing, +1 Sight

  • +3 to Dodge due to sixth sense for danger.

  • +1 to Init rolls due to sixth sense for danger.

  • Howl Stun - INF (attack) vs AGL (dodge). If successful, a sonic pulse makes the opponent freeze on the next turn and they can only use absorb for defense.


Race Drawbacks


  • Using hand-held items or weapons has a halved attack/success roll. No guns, no bows, no weapons that require opposable thumbs.

  • -2 to hit when near natural fire due to instinctual fear. Must beat an APT roll in instances of having to travel through fire.

  • Considered a 'Beast' creature, non-humanoid.

  • Can only wear chest, arm (upper), and leg (upper) pieces for armor.

  • No evil alignment.

  • Discriminated against for their fierce and frightening appearance. Due to mass hunting of their kind, they are reclusive and people don't get to see their gentle nature. Non Dire Wolf NPC's will be distrustful and fearful on first impression.

Pregnancy

To Procreate, Partner Must Be:
Humanoid. Age of maturity is considered 18 AY.

On a d100 roll (pregnancy):
60-100 One Pup
30-59 Two Pups
10-29 Triplets or Three Pups
1-9 Quadruplets or Four Pups

Gender (d2 roll):
1 = Female
2 = Male

Child’s race:
If parents are same race, the child will be that race.

If parents are each a different (but full blooded) race, the child will be half of each race.

If one or both parents are a half-race, the GM will have each parent roll d2 to determine which half from each parent they’ll be.

Natural skills will be available to your character upon registration and don't need SP to unlock, but SP can be used to make some stronger.

Night Vision (Sight): No penalty due to sight in natural darkness.
Detect Poison (Scent): You can taste it on your tongue just by smelling it.
