Queen of the Damned: For Fans of the Queen of the Damned movie, the Chronicles, and Anne Rice

Anne Rice is a critically acclaimed writer of the Vampire Chronicles. Anne has many other books in publication besides her wildly famous tales of the Vampires, but it is these tales that are the center of attention. Rice was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is the second of four daughters born to Katherine and Howard O'Brien.

In the mid 1960's Rice attended San Francisco State University to earn her Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Creative Writing and she also earned her Masters in Creative Writing as well. In 1969 Interview with the Vampire was written in the form of a short story.

Only a few years later, in 1973, Rice turned Interview with the Vampire into a novel that was not published until 1976. Paramount Pictures bought the film rights and years after the film was released.

Anne Rice went through many ups and downs to get to the point in her career that she made it to. Personal trials and tribulations as well as rejections of some of her most famous work today were not able to keep her down; she made it through. Rice is now one of the best selling authors ever.
