Waddlesworth's Story

Meet Waddlesworth. He's my penguin. Waddlesworth is two and a half years old, so he's still relatively young. I received him as a Christmas gift from a very good friend by the name of Katherine Robinson, back when I lived in Virginia.

Waddlesworth is very special to me; not because he is a penguin, but because of the sentimental value behind him. He was one of the first gifts I'd ever received from a friend, and the person that gave it to me was very special. So naturally, I quickly grew attached to my penguin.

Just about every night of each year since then, I have slept with Waddlesworth in my arms. He's a reminder that there's always someone out there that cares about me. And the nights that I did not have my penguin in my arms were for the most part the most lonely and sleepless nights I've had.

I brought Waddlesworth to Houghton with me, because he is my extra special buddy. And that's where the story begins...

The Story of Waddlesworth

Naturally, I showed off my penguin to my friends that would vist my dorm room during Open House. All my friends like Waddlesworth, partially because he is a very attractive penguin. The cuteness factor cannot be ignored, especially by the girls.

Anyway, Joy, Josh, and Steph were chilling in Steve's and my room from 8-ish to 11pm one evening and we were having a good time. We were happy and laughing and doing what college people do, when Joy decided she needed to study for her Spanish test. She took her books and laid on my bunk bed, studying.

Waddlesworth wanted to help her study, so he (with the help of Josh), moved over by Joy's cheek and read along with her. Waddlesworth is a very kind penguin. Did I tell you he was fluent in four different languages? Not including his penguin vernacular. English isn't one of them, but I understand his language.

When it came to the time where everyone left, I walked with Joy and Josh to escort Joy home, since all South guys are courteous like that, even if it's way out of their way. That's why South beats Shen. Josh is from Shen, but it was on the way to his dorm.

When I returned to my room, I felt something strange in the air. Something was missing...but what? And then it slowly dawned on me as I hear the bell of an email being sent to me...
