The float. Talk about a cram for time. Homecoming was in less than a week and we hadn't purchased our supplies yet. We had just elected our SGA (Student Government) officers and had virtually no time to construct our float. The freshman class was in trouble.
But Amy Griffin took the leadership role the construction of the float. Shortly we got the blueprints for the float and we were cracking down on the project. Our theme was "Luckey's Charms" and we were constructing Fancher Hall. Deadlines were coming fast. And then it dawned on us...what are we going to do to make the bell tower?
Josh, Joy, Samantha, and I brainstormed and came to the conclusion of using chicken wire and paper mache. We molded the frame and everyone chipped in to paper mache the tower. With a lot of praying and a lot of paper mache, it worked nicely. But time was running short.
Our endeavors took us far and wide, but in the end, we succeeded in creating a beautiful float. Now for the fancy stuff.
We came up with a brilliant idea...confetti. Have our float shoot out confetti, into the parade crowd. We found a shop vac in the construction area and purchased confetti. Our first test run was a failure, but once we studied the shop vac better, our second trial succeeded. I'll let the pictures do some of the filling in.

A beautiful work in progress...

Deep thoughts, while Dave stands menacingly with his hammer.

Everyone focused and working hard to get Fancher done.

Working intently on the windows...

Working hard on the exact designing.

So many papers to shred...when will it end??

A quick close-up on Samantha...haha.

Hahahaha...What a silly close-up!

They're just sitting there...they must be done!

The beautiful finishing of the Freshman Class Float!
Our float was finished...now for the parade! Unfortunately, I wasn't here, but I'll give you the feedback from our team. Status reports showed a system failure in the shop vac sector. Therefore, there was a malfunctioning in the confetti shooting. But lo, and behold! all is not lost! For it turns out that the Freshman Class won!!
Thanks to the noble endeavors of all who helped on the float, we came out as the champions! Yeah, Class of 2006!!
