Those Who Labor
Jesus established the organization He desired for His church. For example, in Acts we read, "And when (the apostles) had ordained them elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed" (Acts 14:23). "Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons" (Philippians 1:1). The qualifications for pastors (or elders, bishops, overseers, shepherds, presbyters: six terms to discribe the same function) are set forth in Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-11.
