~several hours later~
"There's Sandbridge." Jen pointed. We found our house and began to unpack.
It looked huge! The outside was a light blue color, there was a wrap around porch in front. A stone path in the backyard led to the beach. I followed the others inside. There was a living room, and beyond that, a spacious kitchen. Also downstairs was a dining room, a bathroom, and a guest room.
~Ring, ring~
“Hey, Heather, telephone!”Jen called from the kitchen.
“Hello?” I picked up.
“Hey, its Nick. When are we getting Brian and Erin together? Before or after the concert?” he asked.
“Better before, or it won’t be a surprise.”I told him.
“Yeah, your right. How about at Ellington’s? Its at 23rd street. Oceanfront.” He suggested.
“Okay, lets see,” I glanced at my watch. “its almost 4:30, but we gotta uppack, so how about 5:30?”
“Sounds good to me. See ya later.” Nick said, and hung up.
“Who was on the phone?” Erin asked, walking in.
“Oh, my mom. She was making sure we got here okay.” I lied.
“Oh okay. There’s three bedrooms upstairs. You okay with sharing with Jen?” she asked.
“Yeah sure. Unpack your stuff, we’re going out to eat in about an hour.” I told her. She nodded.
~Erin’s point of view~
I took my stuff up to my room. It was huge for one person! And a tv with actual cable (something I didn’t have at my house). I had an awesome window that overlooked the ocean.
“Erin! Hurry up! Time to go eat!” Tracy called.
“Dude! We just got here! Whats the rush, I’m not even that hungry!” I groaned, as I went downstairs. We drove to some restaurant called Ellington’s. Once inside..
"Oh, I forgot my pocketbook, be right back.” Heather said.
“And we have to go to the bathroom. Get us a table with a good view of the water.” Jennifer instructed.
I found an empty booth.
‘Wonder what’s taking everyone so long.’ I thought to myself a few minutes later. I looked up.“Ahh!” I jumped, someone had just sat down across from me. He looked all too familiar. “Brian? What are you doing here?” I asked.
“I could ask the same to you.” He replied shortly.
“Well you’re the one who sat with me.”
“I’m doing a concert here tonight, but Nick insisted we come to dinner here first. But all the fellas disappeared as soon as we got inside. That's when I saw you.”
“Nick…” It dawned on me. The sudden trip to the beach, having to come here, several slip ups.. “So, we’ve been set up. Uh, haven’t heard from you in awhile.” I said rather harshly, not knowing what else to say.
“Yeah, that happens when you don’t write or call.” Brian responded, just as meanly.
What? He sounded mad at me.
