Chapter 43

~Erin’s point of view~
“Hey! What are you guys doing?” I asked, incredulously.

They were sitting on the bathroom floor looking embarrassed.
“Yeah, we’ve been looking everywhere for you!” Howie came up from behind me.
“Uh…” Kevin paused, then he stood up. “The door was locked. We were locked in here.”
“Oh, have fun?” I laughed.
“What? Why would we have fun? It’s a bathroom,” Jennifer stood up, too, shaking slightly.
I looked behind me at D. Did he notice they were acting strange? No, he didn’t seem to.
“Come on! We’ve gotta get out there,” Howie pressed Kevin.
“Oh, right,” Kevin followed behind him.
“Good luck, guys,” I called after them.

We found our way back inside.
“Jennifer! Where have you been?” Heather cried.
“We found them in the bathroom on the bus,” I reported. “Kevin was back there sniffing glue,” I looked at Tracy.
“Hey, don’t diss my man!” she retorted.
“Come on, I wanna see them perform,” Amy rushed us.
“Yeah, its not like we’ve ever seen them perform ‘As Long As You Love Me,’” I said sarcastically.

They performed great. And the rest of the show was hilarious.
“Why don’t we move to the bus? We spend all our time here anyway,” I mentioned, as we trudged back onto it.
It was past midnight by this time. The guys were already on the bus. AJ had his arms wrapped around Amy already. Heather took a seat near them. Jennifer went to Howie. Kevin was staring out the window, looking troubled.
“Where’s Brian?” I asked no on in particular.
“Him and Nick went to the back,” AJ replied.
I walked back to the bunks. They were sharing the bottom one, probably too tired to climb up top. They were out cold. Heads sharing a pillow.
‘If only I had a camera,’ I thought, looking at a true Kodac moment.
I walked back to the others and took a seat facing AJ, Amy, and Heather. I noticed Tracy trying to talk to Kevin, but he was still looking distant. A similar situation was going on with Howie and Jennifer.
‘What happened in that bathroom?’ I wondered. I’d ask Jennifer later.
“Where are you and Brian going tonight?” Heather asked.
“Well considering he’s with Nick sleeping like a baby, I’d say nowhere.”
“Oh, that stinks. Are you okay with that?”
“Yeah,” I nodded. “Its not his fault they’re being led by the slavemaster,” I lowered my voice so Pearlman wouldn’t hear me.
“I second that,” AJ joined in. “That…” he let out a few choice words.
“Brian and I will just have to wait for our first date,” I sighed.
“Well I talked with the slavedriver today,” AJ began. “With D, of course, cuz he can be nice and get what he wants. After another week and a half of doing promotional junk, we’re all gonna go spend the rest of the summer at my place. We’re gonna end this summer right.”
“So you can get the time off?” Amy asked.
“We’ll have to make it up later… I promised to pretty much stop complaining and listen to Pearlman. You better appreciate my sacrifice, babe.”
“Aww your so sweet,” Amy gave him a kiss.

They were getting more time off! That was great. I wasn’t getting to spend as much time as I wanted to spend with Brian. But what happened when the summer ended?
