Chapter 13

“So Orlando, huh?” I repeated. It was pretty far from Virginia.
“I’m not there much, anyway. Lou and Transcontinental Records has us all over the place. It’s been that way for pretty much the two years. At least we’re back in the country.”
“I bet that must be hard, always away from home and stuff.”
“Yeah, sometimes being on the road is ruff. Especially the loneliness.” Howie admitted. (author’s note: I took that line from Howie’s solo “My Heart Stays With You”)
“Where are you going after the beach?” I asked.
“Well this week we’ve been doing the concert, and the next two weeks are time off. We’re all spending the first week here with you guys and then we’re going to all go home and visit our famillies for a week.”
“That’s cool. Well we better head over to McDonald’s and meet Amy and AJ.” I pointed out.

~Erin’s point of view~

We had just gotton back from skating. We had called Kevin, and his day was free, so he came with us. Kev, Heather, and I are all good skaters. Tracy on the other hand…well, as soon as we got there she fell on her butt! (Author’s note: Tracy, I added that just for you!) Kevin helped her up and the rest of the time, though, so the skater in distress thing worked for her.
“Hey, guys.” Jen greeted. Everyone who had gone to the mall had already come back to the beach house and was watching Deep Blue Sea.
“How can you watch this when your at the beach?” Tracy asked.
“Don’t worry, if any sharks come after ya, I’ll protect you.” Kevin smiled, sweetly. Tracy blushed. I had to contain my laugh.

We sat down and started watching the movie with them.
“Want to go parasailing tomorrow?” Heather said, looking through brochures.
“No thanks. I like it here on the ground.” Tracy said. Kevin, Howie, and Jen declined, too, and the four of them decided to watch a movie.
“Me niether, I’m afraid of heights.” I said.
“Your afraid of heights?” AJ asked, giving Amy a look. “So is Brian.”
“Yeah, I know.” I told him.

~The Next Day~ ~Brian’s point of view~

I went went them to the place where you rent a parasail. I wasn’t planning on going, I just wanted to watch them leave. Jen had gone with the others. I had been thinking of her all yesterday. Nick said she still liked me. I had started to like Erin again, but she never liked me in high school, although she must've known I liked her. Nick told her. She didn't like me then, and didn't now.
The parasail’s only fit two people. Heather and Nick went up first. Erin went to get a Coke, and I talked to Amy and AJ, they were going up next.
“Hey, B-rok, remember the other day when you made us think there was a shark in the water? And we told you we’d pay you back?” AJ asked.
“Uhh…yeah?”
“Well’s it’s pay back time!” AJ screamed, and both of them dragged me to the parasail. AJ held me still while Amy tied up my hands after they buckled me in, so I couldn’t undo it. Erin came back with her Coke.
“I thought you weren’t parasailing, Brian.” She looked puzzled.
“Run!” I screamed. Too late, AJ was too close to her by then. He dragged her into the parasail beside me. They gave the driver of the boat a signal, and we started rising up out of the water. 5 feet... 10.... 25...50.. 100!..
“Told ya we’d get you back!” Amy cried in the distance.
“Oh man, oh man. We’re flying. This thing’s gonna fall out of the sky and we’re gonna get eaten by sharks like those people in the Deep Blue Sea movie!” Erin kept saying.
“Can you untie my hands?” I asked. “And just don’t look down.” I advised, staying a lot calmer.
“Hey look!” she pointed at the ocean. “It’s Leonardo Dicaprio in the water! I’ll never let you go Brian, I’ll never let you go!” she grabbed my arm and them let go. “Splash!”
“Thank you for that vivid picture.” I laughed. “Can you untie me now?” She did.
“It isn’t that bad up here.” Erin smiled. “They did a pathetic job of paying us back! But we’re going to have to try to get them sometime. Something even better!” she told me. I agreed.
