It all started one night when I was in the chat room and this guy came out of nowhere and began talking to me. I didn't have anything better to do, so I stayed and chatted with him. He seemed to be pretty cool. He was funny, sweet, and just all around nuts, oddly like my best friend. We talked for hours on end, and ended up becoming good friends. We exchanged e-mail addresses and kept in touch almost every day. This went on for about two weeks and then he asked for my digits. I was kind of hesitant at first, but then I thought, ‘what the hell?’ He called me the next day and I swear his voice sounded so familiar but I couldn’t place it. We talked for about thirty minutes, during that time I asked him about himself and he told me; his name was Alex, he had brown hair and brown eyes, he had an outgoing personality and look, he loved to sing (which he did for me over the phone and he sounded pretty good.) and he was very well known for what he did. After we hung up, I decided to call Leighann.
“Hey girl, what’s up?” I asked when she answered.
“Not much, how about yourself?” she said, as usual.
“Well, I have to ask, what do you want for your birthday? I am totally clueless.”
“If you could get me the one and only AJ McLean, I would be the happiest little girl you ever did see! But since that is impossible, anything is fine by me.” She said kind of disappointed.
“Hey, how about a date with the perfect guy for you that I met over the ‘net?”
“No, absolutely not, you know how I am about meeting people over the Internet.”
“I know, I know, but this one is different.” I pleaded.
She was really picky over the guys she went out with and she has never liked the ‘net that much because she claimed all the freaks hung out there. I guess it was because all the stories in the news.
“Well look, IF I promise that you will like this guy, and I know you will, could you please meet him? I asked.
“You know how I am over that stupid Internet. I do not like nor do I like the people on it.” She yelled.
“Leighann…”
“I am not going out with anyone off the Internet, sorry to disappoint you but I will not do it.” She yelled and hung up.
“Oh well, if she thinks I’m gonna give up that easy, she is dead wrong!”
I went and e-mailed Alex to tell him when to meet me in the chat room.
