When I went to school the next day, I met Leighann in the hall like always.
“I sure hope you are off that whole internet thing now, I’m sorry I blew up on you last night, I guess I’m just kind of scared of what he might turn out to be.” She said.
“It’s okay, I should have known better than to try and do that to you.” I replied.
“OH! I have some new stuff on AJ to show you. Some new pics that are to die for!” she said with a huge grin.
“Well, let’s see them then.” I said, knowing she was going to show me anyway and I had no choice on the matter.
Just then, the bell rang and we made a dash for our class. We had a sub, so there was really nothing to do, so we talked and studied the pics she had. As I sat there reading all her info on AJ, I kind of felt something click.
“Uh, Leighann, do you have your scrapbook with you?”
“Yeah, always. Why?”
“Let me see it real quick.”
“Sure.”
She handed me the book she had made over the past few years. Full of pics, info and much more. As I carefully studied all the facts on AJ, I gasped at surprise and excitement that caught me all at once. I had been talking to AJ all along! And not only AJ, but also the AJ my best friend was head over heels for.
“Oh my god!”
“What? What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, absolutely nothing” I said grinning.
“Okay, you scared me there for a minute.”
“Happy Birthday Leighann…”
“What? My birthday isn’t till the 28th, it is only the 4th.”
“I know, I’ve got your birthday down!”
Later, I went home and I e-mailed Alex and I told him I wanted to chat with him. So I staged my little stunt!
: So Alex, what’s up?
~ Not too much, how about you?
: Ohh, Larger Then Life is on the radio! I love that song!
~ Really? You never said you liked the Backstreet Boys.
: You never asked.
~ So, are you like, into them big time?
: Maybe, why?
~ I was just wondering, you know something to talk about…

: What?
~ Are you into them?
: Well, it depends on what you mean by ‘into them’.
~ Who is your favorite member?
: Howie is kind of cute and sweet. Why you ask?
~ Oh…
: What’s that suppose to mean?
~ Just oh
: Were you hoping for another answer?
~ Maybe…
: Listen, I have to go bye AJ
~ Ok, bye. WAIT! You know?
: Yep
~ How?
: I looked at my friends’ book and added it all up with the way you described yourself.
~ You are pretty smart, you know that?
: Yeah, I guess so
~ I can trust you right?
: Sure, we’re friends now, so I won’t say a word.
~ Ok, thanks.
: Now I really have to go homework calls.
~ Bye, see you tomorrow.

I left the chat room and started my homework. I could not believe that I had been talking to a famous person all that time and didn’t even know it. I had promised AJ that I wouldn’t say a word, but how could I keep that from my best friend? Especially if she is in love with him in the first place?
