You have to know your guns, you have to know your map, and you have to know your opponent. In the game of CS you cannot rush into a crowded room going fully auto like Rambo and hope to make it out alive because most likely, you won't. That is why we have compiled the new CS Tactics and Weapons page.

Weapons and Weapon Tactics

Dual 96G Elite Beretta's

These Beretta's are fun to shoot and have lots of ammo, but are rendered ineffective because of their low power, long reload, and average accuracy. They are a good choice as a sidearm for CQB with multiple opponents. They are also effective in pistols only games, but do not try to use them at long ranges because a skilled USP or even Desert Eagle user will defeat you quickly.

MAC-10

The MAC-10 is an underated gun. It doesn't see a lot of use, but in the right hands, it can quickly dispatch mulitple opponents in close-quarters in an instant. Its high power and high rate of fire make supreme among CQB weapons rivaled only by the P90 due to its high capacity magazine. However, the MAC-10's accuracy and range are both very low so only choose this gun if you know you can get relatively close to your enemy.

AK-47

The AK-47 is one of the most used weapons in the game besides the MP5. It is a good gun in almost all aspects. However, due to its recoil, its full auto accuracy is poor, but shoot at your opponent in the chest with two or three round bursts and the recoil will earn you a headshot. Its low cost, high rate of fire, and superior power make this gun a dangerous foe.

The SSG552 is a great medium to long range weapon. Its scope and accuracy will get you many kills when you fire in short bursts. Just like any other gun in CS, its full auto accuracy is poor, but its high rate of fire allows you to defend yourself well in close quarters combat. Use this gun to pick off opponents from afar.

The G3 is a below average sniper rifle. Compared to the Scout and AWM its accuracy is poor, but its power and range make it a average weapon. The 6x zoom is nice, but not enough to make this a good weapon. Stick with the AWM or Scout and leave this one alone.

The Five-seveN is a nice sidearm. Its low power is easily overcome by its 20 round magazine, high accuracy, and high rate of fire. This gun is ideal for medium to long range shooting. Because of its superior accuracy its a lot easier to shoot and kill while moving. Choose this as a sidearm and you won't be disappointed.

M4A1 with silencer

The M4A1 is arguably the best weapon in the game. It is very good in all categories. Its high rate of fire, superior accuracy, and optional silencer make this gun ideal for any situation. Attaching the silencer silences your weapon and increases accuracy because it acts as a barrel extension , but decreases power. So if you need CQB power, leave it off, but if you are shooting at medium to long ranges, attach for precision shooting.

Steyr AUG

The AUG is another all around good weapon. It has both long range and high power, in addition to excellent accuracy. The addition of a scope makes precision shooting possible. An excellent weapon, but better suited to long range combat instead of CQB. Use the scope to target your enemies and pick them off with short bursts.

SIG 550

The SIG 550 is another average sniper rifle on the same level with the G3. Its only true advantage is its high capacity magazine. Its disadvantages are pretty much the same as the G3. Stick with the AWM or Scout and avoid this one at all costs.

The knife can be used for business or pleasure. The knife is obviously a lost resort, low range weapon, but its powerful to kill in only two hits. Use this when you are completely out of ammo, when you sneak up on an unaware opponent, or to embarrass some noob.

USP Tactical

The Universal Self-Loading tactical pistol is what CTs start out with. It is arguably the best pistol in the game due to its power, accuracy, and optional silencer. It is the only pistol capable of accepting a silencer in the game. When the silencer is attached it can even be used at medium and medium/long ranges. An all around good pistol that get you out of a bind with its high rate of fire and power .45 round.

The P228 is good choice for a sidearm because of its power. Along with its power comes decent accuracy and range in addition to a high rate of fire. This pistol is great for CQB and won't disappoint you.

Glock 18C

The Glock18C is the Terrorists starting handgun. Its cheap and effective. It is also the only pistol in the game the has a fire mode other than single shot. Its range and accuracy are average, but the power of its three round burst compensates for them. Be prepared for a slight delay between bursts. Burst mode should only be used on lone enemies due to the delay. Overall, a good pistol.

Desert Eagle

The Desert Eagle, commonly known as the "Deagle", is the most powerful handgun in the game. It is quite accurate, but it is disadvantaged by its recoil and slower rate of fire when compared to other pistols. Buy this pistol when you need a good sidearm to go with your sniper rifle or when ever power comes first.

M3 Super 90

Th M3 is your standard pump shot gun. Its extremely powerful in close quarters, but suffers greatly over long ranges. Its slow rate of fire due to pump action means that someone with a fully automatic will easily take care of M3 user. Use this only if you have a lot of practice with it or if you want to have some fun.

XM1014

The XM1014 is a powerful semi-auto shotgun. It suffers at long ranges, but in CQB it can even take down skilled SMG and AR users without too much effort. It has an extremely high rate of fire, but it takes a long time to reload just like any other shotgun. Use this gun agaisnt multiple enemies in close-quarters.

The MP5 is probably the most used game in CS. Because of its low cost, it often appears in just the second round. It is an all around good gun. Its power isn't the best, but it makes up for it with a high rate of fire, accuracy, and quick reload. Its a great gun and can be very effective in the right hands.

The P90 personal defense weapon is a great CQB weapon. It has a high capacity magazine and a high rate of fire making it perfect for engaging multiple enemies. However it suffers at longer ranges and a slow reload. Still the P90 is good choice for taking lots of enemies in crowded rooms.
