Step 5: Research Law Schools
Once you know your LSAT and your GPA you can get an idea of what law schools you should apply to. First you should find out the estimated likelihood of admission to each of the 184 ABA approved law schools. You can plug your numbers into this LSAC website.(Enter your numbers, check the "Estimate likelihood of 2000 admission to selected law schools" box, Click the "Search on all law schools" button, finally click on the "Your estimated likelihood" link in the upper-righthand corner.) This page is based off of the previous year's admission statistics.Another way to get an idea of some are law school rankings. There is no official system to rank law schools but here are some of the more popular. US News and World Report has a particularly useful site with information about each school as well as a link to the school's web page. Brian Leiter has established the EQR or the Educational Quality Rankings.
