Step 4: Get LSAT Score
There are two options to find out how your score. The first option (and the one most everyone ends up taking) is TelScore. This costs $10 and is a few weeks faster than getting your score in the mail for free. The test procter will inform you as to when you can call TelScore. The number is 215-968-1200. Remember to have your LSAC PIN, your Social Security or Social Insurance number, and credit card handy when calling. I couldn't wait to get my score by mail so I shelled out another $10 to get my score by phone. TelScore usually has the scores ready one day early. The LSAT has a standardized score system. The raw score (usually the number correct out of 100 or 101) is converted to a scaled score from 120 to 180. This helps compensate for the differences in administered tests. For example 80 questions correct (raw score) on an easy test will have the same scaled score as 75 questions correct (raw score) on a harder test. The scaled score is related to the test percentiles. 150 is the 50th percentile. Half of all test-takers score below 150 and half score above 150. I scored a 171 which is in the 99th percentile which means that 1% of test-takers scored the same or better than me.
