"Real Chicago-style deep dish pizza, not that I'd know the difference"

Full Review
The first thing I noticed when I carried out my pizza from Zachary's is how heavy it is. It's like three times heavier than a normal pizza. Then, when I opened up the box, I thought, "what the hell, they forgot the cheese." But really, its just a really deep dish with a heaping dollop of chunky tomato sauce on top.
The pizza itself was delicious. I got a spinach and mushroom pizza (not my choice), and my slice was a good mix of thick crust, cheese, filling and lots of perfect tomato sauce. I really liked it. I was full with a slice and a half.
Zachary's is supposed to be the best deep dish pizza in SF. You can check their site for all the awards they've won. I thought it was great, but I still prefer thin NY style pizza. That's real pizza, chicago-style is a bastardization of the classic. A delicious bastardization, but still...
