Day 1. Drive to Tarangire National Park for day in park. Continue in late afternoon to Lake Manyara. Overnight Migunga Forest Camp.
Day 2. Day in Lake Manyara National Park, well known for its tree-climbing lions. The park is a good introduction to the wildlife of Tanzania and has a variety of habitats in a relatively small area: ground water forest, grass plains, and acacia woodland. The camp is in a quiet and secluded area close to the park. Overnight Migunga Forest Camp.
Day 3. Continue to Lake Natron via Engaruka and implosion crater. Walk up Engare Sero gorge to the waterfalls and visit lake shore. Overnight Lake Natron Camp.
Day 4. Continue to Serengeti via Sonjo and Wasso. Overnight Lobo Wildlife Lodge.
Day 5. Game drive in northern and central Serengeti. Overnight Ikoma Bush Camp.
Day 6. Game drive and/or hikes in Serengeti. There are the options of game drives, hiking, visiting a gold mine that uses traditional methods of extracting gold, and visiting the local village and its traditional life. Overnight Ikoma Bush Camp.

Day 7-8. Day in Serengeti with options of game drive, walking and visiting local village. Overnight Ikoma Bush Camp.
Day 9. Continue to Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge. The road passes through the central part of the Serengeti and the Serengeti Plain, where between late December and May the big herds concentrate. Overnight Ngorongoro Lodge.
Day 10. Day in Ngorongoro Crater. This is a good opportunity of seeing rhino and if you haven't already seen enough lions this is the place to see them. Ngorongoro Crater is amazing not only scenically but also for its wildlife, one of the very few places that has such an abundance of animals in such a small area and in so may varying habitats. Exit crater in mid afternoon for the drive to Lake Manyara. Overnight Migunga Forest Camp.
Day 11. Return after breakfast to Arusha. For those flying out from Kilimanjaro Airport transport will be arranged. There are shuttle services connecting with Nairobi every morning at eight o'clock and at two o'clock in the afternoon.

Option B: optional climb of Oldoinyo L'Engai or walk to waterfalls, hike up the escarpment, visit Maasai village, walk to lake flats, see flamingos. Meet up with walking group of Option A. Overnight Lake Natron Camp.
Day 8. Continue to Serengeti via Sonjo and Wasso. Overnight Lobo Wildlife Lodge.
Day 9. Game drive in northern and central Serengeti. Overnight Ikoma Bush Camp.
Day 10. Game drive and/or hikes in Serengeti. There are the options of game drives, hiking, visiting a gold mine that uses traditional methods of extracting gold, and visiting the local village and its traditional life. Overnight Ikoma Bush Camp.
Day 11. Drive to Manyara via Karatu. Overnight Migunga Forest Camp.

Day 15. Return after breakfast to Arusha.
