WYD 2003

In 1986, Pope John Paul set aside Palm Sunday as World Youth Day.  It is marked every second year by a local celebration of and by youth.

In 2003, as part of this local celebration, the youth of the Diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil gathered together for activities, reflection, prayer and celebration.  Part of this gathering included a march through the streets of St.Lambert, as sign of our deep desire and work toward peace.

This march, this Way of the Beatitudes, found its inspiration three years earlier, in the Jubilee Pilgrimage of World Youth Day 2000.  The reflections were taken and modified from those used in Rome.  For the text of our reflection, check out our Prayer Tools.

Enjoy!

Youth walk the Way of the Beatitudes, carrying placards proclaiming peace.

The banner is made of squares representing each of the stations of the Beatitudes.

The march winds through the streets of St.Lambert as a testimony to all it meets.
