Michael Crichton was born on October 23, 1942 in Chicago. He received
his education from Harvard University and got his medical degree.
Disappointed with the medical field, Crichton began writing books and get into
the field of movies. In his lifetime, Crichton has sold over 100 million
books in 30 languages. Twelve of his books have been made into
movies. He is also the creator of the popular NBC series ER. He is
the only person in America who has had the number one book, movie, and TV
show at the same time.
Crichton has received numerous awards for his works
including an Emmy, a Peabody, and an Edgar Allen Poe award just to name a
few. Crichton has even had two dinosaurs named after him.
