"A trip to Philmont, work on an award and a tour of New Mexico....unprecedented journey "

Tour Objective

Reach into every unit sponsored by a Catholic Institution and offer an adventure in which our scouts can earn their Scouting religious award

Sponsor a certain number of scouts from units throughout the Diocese of Ft Worth who wish to learn more about their faith and work on the Ad Altare Dei Award

Provide an opportunity for fee paying scouts who wish to participate in an unprecedented event, potentially meet 4 Bishops, visit Indian Cliff Dwellings and marvel at the "miraculous staircase"

Increase interest in Catholic Religious Awards Program within every unit in the diocese.

Conduct Ad Altare Dei award classes during the tour (we do not promise to finish the award)

Provide a larger than life experience combining a religious award tour, Philmont visit, and a sort of Jamboree style experience where scouts from dozens of different troops come together on an adventure that has never been undertaken before.

Commitment

Nationwide, the number of scouts who have attained religious awards has dropped significantly for all denominations. The Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Diocese of Ft Worth is pledged to help turn this statistic around for Ad Altare Dei awardees in our area. Please contact AAD Tour Chairman   John Ryan   817 571 4970 for more information on our 2011 Tour. Please contact Tour Religious Emblems Chairman   To Be Announced   To Be Announced for information on award requirements or becoming an Ad Altare Dei award counselor.
