*BY THE SPIRIT*

by Carrie Anderson

Scripture- Zechariah 4:6 says "Then he said, "This is God's message to Zerubabel: Not by Might, nor power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts." (You will succeed because of my Spirit, though you are few and weak).
Spiritual healing or spiritual growth cannot be gained by efforts of the flesh. Whether its a wounding by a past abuse or sin in your life, human works will not heal the wounded spirit. The change needed must be wrought through the Spirit of God. That which is born of the Spirit, will produce spirit. The flesh can only produce flesh. Jesus said His Word was Spirit and life. No matter the reason for your condition, God's Spirit-Energized Word has your answer. Receive it, meditate on it, and say what the Word says you are.
Psalms 147:3 says, "God heals the brokenhearted, God binds up the wounds." Verse 5 says, "God is great and abundant in strength, infinite in understanding." Verse 6 says, "God supports or lifts up the humble and downtrodden."
God will work through you by His Spirit. Turn from human efforts and trust Him today to meet your needs. Scripture- Isaiah 6:1 says "In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne Spiritual healing or spiritual growth cannot be gained by efforts of the flesh.
I am reminded of what the apostle wrote to the Corinthians in 2 Cor 1:3,4 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation; that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
The word comfort could be better translated as encouragement. Paul is saying just as God has encouraged us during our time of trouble, we can be an encouragement to others- no matter what trouble they may be facing. See the bottom lne is this-just as God has delivered and brought us through He will and can deliver them also. Be Blessed Carrie
