*THE BATTLE IS THE LORD'S*

by Carrie Anderson

Scripture- II Chronicles 20:1,3 says "It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah."
How do you handle an invasion?

Satan is in the business of bringing invasions into our lives. 1 Peter 5:8 says that he goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. The news of the invasion was disturbing to Jehoshapat, yet he didn't lose focus of where his help came from. He decided to seek the Lord. This is our first step in dealing with the invasion of Satan. We should turn our focus on the Lord because He is the source of our help.God has blessed us with the examples in scripture so we can know how to deal with problems in this life.

In v. 12 of II Chronicles the king is praying because he doesn't know what to do, but their eyes were on the Lord. Their answer to the invasion was, and is our answer. In v. 22 they began to praise the Lord, with thanksgiving. You see, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness in high places. Praise is the weapon of warfare in the spirit world. When the singers praised God, the Lord set ambushments against the enemy. He will do the same for you today. God is ready to fight your battle. When the invasion comes, make it your priority to stand still and give thanksgiving to God. Then you will see His great salvation... for the battle is the Lord's.
