I Set My Soul Free

I SET MY SOUL FREE

What a wonderful year this has been for me.
I dared to let my soul run free.

I stretched out my arms with my face toward the sun
and as a result a new life I've begun.

Twelve months of peace and joy from within.
For the first time in my life I feel comfortable in this skin.

There are no words that exist to describe how I feel.
That's why I give thanks each time that I kneel.

All of my past problems have bee washed away,
just swept out to sea and it's a brand new day.

I never thought that this day would come,
but I wasn't surprised where my peace came from.

I finally trusted in God and he
did deliver me, he blew away my storm clouds and calmed my stormy sea.

So, now I want to tell my story of how I made it through
and I want every one to know that the same can happen to you.

All it takes is lots of faith and an understanding of who you are.
Then God can come and lift you up and make you a shinning star.

So the next time your world turns black and you can no longer see.
Just open your heart, trust in God and let your soul run free.
