Hiding In the Dark

By:Carol Huber

You hide in the dark of my mind
Where memory is tattered and torn
Behind the screens of forgotten abuse
You hide

In shadows you lurk
Like a thief who stole precious jewels
Trust and love and even my sense of self

What will you do one day
When I have remembered everything
And there are no shadows left
And you can no longer hide
In the dark?
