"Merlin", shown winning Winners Dog in Lawton, Oklahoma under Judge Jon Cole, at the Lawton Kennel Club Show! (If you look closely you can see his "Pac Man" showing)!

Merlin was a single surviving puppy from a litter of three. He was shown sparingly from the age of six months and had acquired a number of single points by the age of one year old. Then due to other financial and work commitments I was unable to show him for some time and by the time I was able to get him back out he was injured so his show career was more or less over before it got restarted. He did receive his Int. Ch. title before the injury.

Then in 1999 he was bred to my bitch Blanca (Vun-Veqs Bianca's Blanca). After two other unsuccessful breedings, thinking that nothing would come of it since the other breedings were unsuccessfull, they were allowed together one time just to keep them quiet. Of course this was the time that took and they produced a litter of four. One was lost when Blanca needed help and had to have a c-section for the last puppy which was born dead. One other was either stepped on or laid on at 3 weeks of age, and died from the injuries, leaving only two, black/white/tan tri-colored males surviving. They remain here at Borchi ("Wishbone and Ripley").

In early January of 2000 Merlin began having some health problems which cumulated in his having to be put down due to cancer, just four days after his mother died from a stroke. He hung in there until he was no longer needed to watch over her and then just gave up, and his suffering was ended.
