Our History

The goddess Mephistoku is the only true deity. She created the earth and all that lives on it. The goddess controls everything that happens in the universe. In the beginning (after she had created earth and humans) she found it inconvenient that she could not communicate with her people. Their minds were not meant to receive telepathic messages. Because of this, she created the first Malaxian. The first Malaxian was a sixteen-year-old girl named Sokasew. Sokasew had always had the ability to talk to the goddess Mephistoku, but since the goddess had never spoken to her she didn't know she could. One day while she was down at the river with some other members of her village, the goddess spoke to her. She told Sokasew about herself and told her to tell the world about the glory and splendor of the goddess Mephistoku. Sokasew was frightened at first, but soon got over her fear and formed the Holy Order of Mephistoku so she could spread the teachings of Mephistoku. The goddess gave Sokasew the title of Malaxian, which in the ancient language of Tanimuth (the universal language spoken in the beginning) means "chosen one". She also gave Sokasew's followers the title Myvars, which means "truth". The Holy Order of Mephistoku soon spread to all corners of the earth and many other similar religions sprang up. Soon, the goddess Mephistoku was worshipped by nearly everyone. It was a happy time for the entire earth. As time passed, however, things took a turn for the worst. It started when the Malaxian at that time, a woman named Tokawatt, was killed by the leader of a rival religion. The next woman destined to be Malaxian wasn't even born yet. Without a Malaxian. the Myvars' faith began to waver. Many were killed by followers of a new religion that had recently sprung up: Christianity. The Christians hated the Myvars from the beginning. As the years went by, most of the other religions worshipping the goddess were lost forever to the world. Then the new Malaxian came into power. While the Christians could not be defeated, she managed to save the Holy Order of Mephistoku from total destruction. Today, the order is still around despite the Christians' efforts. As I have said before, I am the current Malaxian. I keep the Myvars informed of all the goddess's wishes and commands. Christianity is still trying to get rid of us, but their tactics have changed. Instead of trying to kill us they are trying to get as many followers of their religion as they can in the hope that someday we will cease to have any Myvars and just dissapear.
