If I Could
(Take all my Tears)
If I could take all my tears
Put them in a plastic jar
And take them to the sea and dump them
Would it make the pain go away?
If I could take all my pain
Put it in a cardboard box
And bury it far, far down in the ground
Would it turn the frowns upside down?
If I could take all my frowns
String them together
And hang them from the top of a tall tree
Would it stop the tears from falling?
If I could take my tears, my pain, my frowns
Mix them together
And pour them in to a bottomless pit
Would it make me smile?
If I could take all my smiles
Put them in a bottle
And pull one out whenever I need it
Would it make me happy?
If I could take my happy days
Multiply them by a billion
And never show when I'm sad
Would it stop the tears?
Take away the pain?
Turn the frowns upside down?
Or would it be like putting on a mask?
