The Last Race

We stand before you now
Waiting for what's to come
Only you can decide our fate
You're the one holding the gun
Even in these last few moments of life
We still hold our heads high
Some of us used to be called the greatest
Others were called the best
But just because these old legs of ours
Can no longer win the race
Who gave you the right to stand here and decide each of our fates
But there's so much life still in us
Just look in our eyes and you'll see
That a young horse still runs within us
Not the old horses that you see
So give us this chance that we're asking for
And you will see
We can still run one last race
The race to survive
