BARBARA FAYE DASKEVICH BASHAM, 78, of
Ft. Worth, TX, passed away on July 31, 2013,
with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery at
Ranger, TX.
Barbara was born Aug. 24, 1934 in Mingus, TX
to Joseph and Valeria Daskevich. She attended
Ranger High School in the Class of 1953 & married
Edward Allen Basham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
sister, Helen Daskevich Hood; two brothers, Anthony
"Tut" Daskevich & Joseph Daskevich; & two infant
children, Michael & Edward and Brenda Faye Basham.
Survivors: daughters, Kim Grider and husband, Bill,
Kathy Burnell & husband, William, and Kristy Basham;
sisters, Louise Daskevich McGee & Betty Daskevich
Yeager (RHS-1947); grandchildren, Staci, Bill and
Emily Grider, & Valerie Carper; great-grandchildren,
Eva, Alex and Jett Carper; & several nieces & nephews.
SISTER: HELEN MARIE DASKEVICH HOOD, 88, of
Fort Worth, TX, died May 16, 2011, with burial in
Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger, TX.
She was born on April 17, 1823, in Mingus, TX, to
Joseph & Valeria Woszeiewski Daskevich. She was a
retired waitress and a member of St. Rita Catholic
Church in Ranger, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers,
Joey & Anthony Daskevich; and son, David Wayne Hood,
who died in 1981.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, John Elmore
Hood of Fort Worth; 3 sisters (all of Fort Worth), Louise
McGee, Betty Yeager (RHS-1947), & Faye Basham (RHS-
1953). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews,
and other relatives.
