ELIMINATED FROM ALPHA

ROBBIE
ELIMINATED FROM BETA

TIM

They might have known who the mole was, but their team mates failed to keep them in the game.  Now with their most valuable players out of the game and a mole still at large, how well will the team's survive this week?  The two give their final thoughts:

Robbie: "D'OH!! I'm eliminated :( Oh well! That's the game. I have been trying all week to stay in the game, and didn't succeed. I just wanted to ask which site of Justin was invalid, because he sent in sites that I suggested, so it's probably my own fault I got eliminated. Unless Justin is the Mole ;-)"

Tim: "My team basically let me down.  I thought I knew who the mole was, Nick, but I'll have to find out in the end now.  I was hoping that Alpha would get some more stuff by the end of the episode.  But, they must have failed their own MVP challenge as well.  Arrrrrgh!  Good hunting team Beta.  I hope I'm back for a reunion challenge."

The remaining twelve are given their challenges.  Each team must divide themselves up into three groups.  A group of one, who doesn't like the group's way of thinking, a group of two, who aren't quick at responding and a group of three who aren't very strategic.  So that everyone in the group is happy with the decision, three people must post identical team lists on the club page.  There is a bit of a debate as to who should receive the group of one.  Some of the team member's presume the group of one will be playing for the free pass, but they are wrong.

Alpha are the first to form, with Isaiah deciding the teams.  Steve just agrees, but Dave doesn't.  However Steve, convinces Dave to go with it so they can go on with the challenges they don't even know about.  The Alpha groups are (1) Blake, (2) Justin and Mike, (3) Isaiah, Dave and Steve.  Mike is really annoyed with his team's and starts complaining about their communication problems.  Daniel selectes the groups for Beta, with Dan and Billy agreeing.  Their groups are (1) Sharna, (2) Yves and Dan, (3) Nick, Billy and Daniel.

Once again, the host introduces a new twist to the game.  This week the team's don't have to earn the free passes.  They can simply purchase them from the host.  But doing so will cost the group dearly.  The first pass is cheap, it costs the team $10,000.  The second is $20,000 more than the last, ie $30,000.  The next is $30,000 more, ie $60,000.  The final one is $40,000, ie costing the team $100,000.  Isaiah is the first to purchase a free pass.  He's safely through to the next episode but costs his team $10,000.  The lack of teamwork annoys Mike even more.  Blake buys another free pass, costing the team a further $30,000.  Alpha team are already $40,000 down and Mike gets more annoyed and starts barracking for the Beta team.

As the team's bicker over the expensive free passes, they are given their challenges.  The first challenge is for the group of two and the group of three to complete together.  During the second episode the team members were asked to make up a challenge.  Little did they know, two of those challenge ideas were to be used for a future challenge.

CHALLENGE ONE: YOUR CHALLENGE

This challenge can earn the team $45,000.  The first part of their challenge is to find the second part of their challenge.  The teams are given an incomplete web address.  Five of the letters are missing.  Alpha's Blake quickly works out what the five missing letters are.  The five letters are the first letters of each of the players names.  He finds the second half of the challenge.  The second half of their challenge is to translate the question "Who is the Mole?" into four different languages: French, German, Spanish and Italian.  Four different team members must send in a different and correct translation to win the challenge.  Blake sends in all four translations just to be safe.  They are correct.  Dave quickly follows and so does Mike.  Only one more team member needs to submit a translation to win $45,000, getting back what was lost by the free pass purchases.

Meanwhile, the five Beta members are stumped as to what the five letters could be.  They say they can't open the page, but they are looking completely in the wrong place.

Steve sends in the German translation, completing the four translations for the Alpha team, earning them $45,000.  It has brought their kitty back up to $125,000 after the free pass purchases.

Clues are given everyday about the missing parts of the web address.  The Host sends the first clue: "Think back to the final password in the ultimate password challenge - it's a similar sort of thing...".  The group still can't work out what the question marks are.  Another day passes and another clue is sent out: "The five question marks represent five letters, relevant to your team".

Finally, Nick is the first Beta team member to figure out where the second part of the translation is, as well as his translation.  He sends in the French translation.  Yves then follows speaking Spanish.  Daniel sends in the Italian translation.  Time ticks down as the challenge deadline nears.  All the team need to win $45,000 is for either Dan or Billy to send in the German translation.  Hours pass and neither of them respond.  So close but yet so far.  The challenge has been lost by Beta.

Dan is the first person from Beta to purchase a free pass.  Their kitty goes down $10,000.  Sharna buys one and costs the team a further $30,000.  Nick, not knowing that two of his team mates have already made a purchase hopes that his free pass is only worth $10,000.  He's wrong.  His pass is worth $60,000 with the total of the three free passes costing the Beta team $100,000.  Only $35,000 remains in their kitty, so therefore no more free passes can be bought.

CHALLENGE TWO: THE HUNTED

The team of one and two, participate in this challenge for $40,000.  They must divide themselves up into two maze runners and a sniper placer.  Justin assigns Mike to be the sniper placer, with himself and Blake to run the maze.  Dan assigns himself as the sniper placer, leaving Sharna and Yves as runners.

The sniper placers are given further instructions and a map.  The green marked areas are the places in the maze the runners can access.  The red lines indicate the paths they can take.  Their job is to strategically position two snipers and three flags in the maze.  They are not placing the snipers and flags for their team, they are placing them in the maze for the other team, therefore it will take clever strategy to work out where to position the elements.  The challenge for the runners is to find the flags (as positioned by the opposition) without running into a sniper.  If between the two runners they can find all three flags before both of them are caught, the challenge is won.

Dan places the snipers at B3 and D2.  He places the three flags at A3, C5 and D1.  As the sniper placers are preparing the maze for the opposing team, to be fair both must finish their tasks before any runners can enter the maze.  Mike doesn't respond at all before the deadline leaving the challenge unfinished.  But he says he did.  Later it was revealed that he sent it the wrong email address.  As the Beta team completed their part of the deal (by setting up Alpha's maze), they are rewarded half of the challenge money ($20,000).

During the week, the mole website is 'mysteriously' unavailable.  Steve also has troubles with his ISP missing a few valuable emails.

CHALLENGE THREE: SNAKE PUZZLE

A final $40,000 can be earned in the episode by the group of one and three.  Each of the team members are sent a puzzle piece.  Posted on the club page is the first puzzle piece.  The group are to put the rest of the puzzle together.  However each puzzle piece must be positioned in order, only by the person who had received it.  Therefore, all four team members must keep an eye on the club page during the week to see when it is their turn to position their piece.

Blake sends in his puzzle piece for Alpha.  It's a match.  Dave thinks his piece goes next.  Just a couple of hours before the deadline and Steve submits the final piece of the puzzle.  It's the last piece of the puzzle but only three pieces have been attached to the original piece.

Isaiah hasn't received his puzzle piece as the host had sent it the wrong email address.  As the rest of the puzzle was in place, Alpha are awarded half the challenge money.  Only half the challenge had been won because it was only half the host's fault, no Alpha team members told Isaiah that he should have a puzzle piece and Isaiah never asked about it.  Could it have been a clever mole strategy?

Beta are slower off the mark.  Sharna sends in her piece but not after a lot of time has passed.  She has inserted the correct puzzle piece but unfortunately it doesn't leave much time for the others.  Daniel submits his piece just hours before the deadline.  Their puzzle isn't complete and another $40,000 goes begging for Beta.

With a lot of spending this episode, the Beta kitty is effected badly.  Luckily for Alpha they had won enough money back to increase their kitty.

Alpha's Kitty
$  145,000
Beta's Kitty
$   55,000

The team are asked about the unexpected deals and twists to the game.  Each team member is asked about anyone who is making annoying decisions to the team, and whether they think it is mole activity:

Blake: "Isaiah's habit of posting the groups before we even knew about the challenge is getting very annoying.  It could be mole activity, but it may also be too obvious.  Right now, I'm starting to lean towards Steve as the mole, but it could still very easily be any one of my 5 teammates."

Dan: "As I betrayed the group on so many levels this episode, i have to admit that I have become the person that is the most annoying to the team. Here i will digress. While waiting for the challenge to be posted, I clearly remembered that there will be a deal that may split the team, as a preview to the episode. Knowing that and that our team will be in three groups, I aimed to put a pawn or myself in the first group, or the group of 1. Billy wanted to snatch that spot. I guessed that the person in the group of 1 may be given a decision for a free pass, and Billy should not have lasted this long in the game, so I adamantly persuaded others to NOT give him that spot. Only Sharna went for the group's thinking group, so I nominated her. I then emailed Sharna and Daniel about the groups so that we could all form an alliance for this episode concerning the groups. If Billy wouldn't listen to anyone, the only way to receive our challenge if three people set up the groups. We decided! the groups then posted them. While anxiously waiting for the challenge, i typed in the url for the next challenge .../whosthemole/Epi5.htm and found the next challenges before anyone else did. I immediately went for a free pass to make sure that no one like Billy could get it. I also pasted the whole page just for Daniel and Sharna and suggested that they go for the free pass also. Sharna did also and she's the person that I want to keep in the game, as I can use her to help me out. I also showed a list of the tasks to those two and also Yves. By that time suspicion had risen as to how i got the list and why. Luckily, it did help us get a good start considering that time was running...but they are not grateful that I did so. My goal is to eliminate Billy this episode. Tim and I predicted him as the second person out, but luckily Nat beat him to it...so this episode I am out to confuse and make sure that Billy will go. As for Tim's demise...I unintentionally led to that. I made good and intuitive guesses on the kitty of alpha. Unfortunately I was wrong, and if I hadn't given Tim all that help on the kitty question, he wouldn't be out. I also misunderstood the url challenge early on and thus confused Daniel. If Daniel hadn't prematurely submitted his answers, we may have saved Tim. As for all this being mole activity, I don't believe so. I am a team person. I am always the person clarifying and reclarifying the challenges for everyone and I am the one that tries to get everyone to finish their challenge. I am the one that pinpoints who hasn't finished and who has finished. Without me, the team wouldn't know such mole activity. Despite the fact that I haven't won the team any money, I am usually behind everyone that wins us money. I'm starting to get an idea who the mole is now that Connor, Nat and Tim are gone. All three of them were suspicious and now it only leaves a few suspicious ones. If Billy and Sharna had been eliminated earlier, I might not have an idea who the mole is. The main reason why I go after Daniel day after day is because it would be justice if he was the mole after losing the first series, and it would be great to have Dan and Daniel in the final three...confusion would ensue. I feel bad that Tim is gone...but now I have a better chance to win unfortunately. It feels so nice to have a free pass this round...I have had a horrible week and I have another round of midterm exams coming up...in fact I have one in about fifteen minutes...I had to relax myself and get up from studying. Next week I'll be back to work, and helping on challenges. Oh my, I seem so much like the mole at this moment and episode...I'm not sure if that's good or bad..."

Justin: "I've got one thing to say. WE HAVE SOME IDIOTS IN OUR TEAM. Both Blake and Isaiah cost us a total of $40,000 out of the kitty so they could selfishly survive to the next round. Now I expect this from Blake as I am almost positive that he is the mole now, but Isaish had no excuse what so ever, how are we going to win the game against the other team when people keep buying free passes!!! Anyway, Blake hasn't done anything overly suspecious this episode but I still think he is the mole , by taking the free pass he was able to just appear selfish rather than to have people think it was mole activity. I hope that Isaiah is eliminated soon, he's only costing the group money. Plus, this is the first time someone has sacrificed the team for personal gain, it's elevated the game to completly new level..."

Yves: "Buying a free pass penalises the entire team for purely selfish purposes. That's annoying. It could very well be mole activity (hey, maybe we have three moles on our team!!). Buying a free pass is an easy decision for the mole. It takes away money from the team's kitty and the mole can look like a player who is eager to win."

Isaiah: "I think that I have been the person causing the most trouble...I made the decision for the team's groups, and I was the first to buy an exemption, which boggled many people.  Other than that, the ONLY problem is that I am twisted between 2 people...Dave and Steve, and I am 95% sure its one of them."

Billy: "Sharna is getting on my nerves. All she does is ask too many questions.. And when she complained that too many people were buying free pasees, when she was the second oen to buy one, pissed me off..."

Dave: "If I had a gun, Ishiah would be my target. He hasn't spoken to the group for at least a week, and goes and buys himself a free pass. He isn't the mole though I don't think. I'm sticking with Steve this week :) He's got me this far!"

Sharna: "I do believe that it is cos out kity has decrease emensly!!!"

Mike: "Yeah, 2 people have bought free passes and it ticks me off. No one had said anything about buying free passes, and on one of the first days of the game we all said we would ask the team before making choices which will cost us money and no one has followed that rule.  Once I found out that they were buying free passes with the team's money I told them that I hope Beta Wins and I will do what I can to help Beta now, even If I am kicked off.  They are really starting to tick me off.  The person I think is the Mole didn't buy a free pass because I think he letting people look like the mole, he is being really quiet and not making big mistakes, just little ones that add up to alot of money lost. GO BETA."

Nick: "At the moment I am really glad I have the free pass!!  My suspicions are wavering to danielhib due to the question last week "Was the mole in the first series?" It makes me think that Daniel would of liked to be the mole after he made it to the final three in the first series. Yves is still suspicious, he can easily stuff up challenges!! That's why I needed the free pass!! Billy is becoming a bit of a prick!! he think he is good and the 'leader' of the team!!! He wanted to be the one person who disagrees with the team but as Dan said - he didn't fit the role!!! I have respect for Dan and Sharna!"

Steve: "Oh yeah, there has been.  I was mildly p'd off this week, mainly because two people in our group bought free passes and cost the group $40000.  Isaiah and Blake.  Blake is definately on my suspect list (his pass cost $30k), but I still don't think it is Isaiah.  And, I no longer think the mole is Dave either now really.  I'm at the end of my rope this episode I think, and in major danger of being eliminated.  So, I'm going for Justin, then Blake.  If I'm right, I think you'll see me in the final episode :) I've had a blast in this series, and am thankful that I made it down to the final six. I'd really like to go one better, but if I don't then "thems the breaks".  I would like to thank you for doing a great game, and (most of) my team for flying the Alpha flag so high!  My favourite challenge to date was probably either the "Ultimate Password" or "The Committed", which were both great fun! To the mole if I'm wrong: Well done, you did great!"

Daniel: "Billywaz, i don't think has many friends, people try to correspond with him, but he is fairly rude and selfish. He keeps doing things that are best for him and not the group, he is really making the group angry. E.G. He said he should be in the group of one because thats what he wanted and thought it was first in first served. Then had a cry when we said no. I don't think he is the mole at all.  A very important time in this game. I am really considering Nick (baskio) at this stage, with Dave leaving team Alpha, i don't think there is a player from last series in their team now. I think the host may have chosen a player from last series as the mole, leaving Nick. But i will probably do my quesstionnaire covering a few more people."

From the confession cams it is obvious tension is rising between the teams.  Out of the the 12 who are left, five have free passes to the next episode.  If the two moles did not buy a pass it means there are only five people who may not make it to Episode Six.
