Chapter Two

"Hey miss, are you alright?" the sweet voice asked again. The man kneeling next to Janine had wavy, dark brown hair with a clump of his locks hitting his forehead. He wore a pair of jet-black jeans, a black T-shirt and an ink black leather jacket.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Janine struggled to sit up. "Are you who I think you are?"

He nodded. "I think so, I'm Tony Slattery."

"But..why are you here, in America? Why are you at this studio?" she asked, almost as dazed as Cher was when she had first met Ryan.

"I can pay my old chums a visit, don't you agree?" Tony asked. Janine nodded slowly as he offered her his hand and helped her to her feet. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name."

"Oh, it's, um, Janine," she stammered.

He smiled. "Janine. That's pretty."

"Yeah, it is." She sighed.

Tony laughed. "Are you sure you're okay?"

Janine said with a little attitude in her voice, "Yeah, I'm fine, but not as fine as you." Slapping her hand quickly over her mouth, she thought, Oh my gosh! I cannot believe I just said that.

"How flattering," Tony beamed.

"Uh-huh." Janine sighed again.

He still had a hold on her. "I was going to see my old buddy, Colin Mochrie. By any chance, do you know where he's at?"

"He's this way, in his dressing room." She pointed. Janine tried to walk a few steps, but started to collapse. Tony caught her just in time.

"Careful now," He smiled. "I wouldn't want you hurting yourself." She breathed a sigh of relief as she leaned on Tony for support.

Finally, the two made it to Colin's dressing room. Being polite, they knocked and waited.

"Come in," Colin's voice said from the other side. The two entered slowly as Tony was helping Janine keep her balance. When first seeing the two some, everyone else's faces held mixed reactions.

"TONY?!" Colin was shocked. He hadn't seen him in years, and in America?

"In the flesh!" Tony grinned as Janine let go of him and crumbled onto an empty chair. "I bumped into this gorgeous young lady in the hallway a few minutes ago." He glanced at Janine.

"Oh, she was with us," Ryan said.

Tony asked, "So, I guess you were taking a breather, Janine?"

"Yeah, you could say that." Janine said. Actually, I left because it was getting a little too stuffy in here.

After a long pause, Tony said, "Well, since you two guys seem to be occupied with your own lovely ladies, I guess you wouldn't mind if I snatch this one then?"

"No, not at all," Ryan and Colin said in unison.

"Just don't hurt her," Jamie winked. Janine mouthed, "Thank you."

"I won't I promise," Tony said seriously, as he helped Janine up and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. They both turned and left the room as slowly as they had come in.

Ryan turned to Cher, "You wanna continue our conversation over in my dressing room?"

"Um?" Cher glanced over at Jamie, who nodded slightly. "Sure."
