Willow stood on Xander’s doorstep for what seemed to be eternity, when finally she heard footsteps coming towards the door. Willow smiled.

< Good, for a minute I didn’t think he was home > At last the door opened, and Willow thought she would faint when she saw Xander standing there in his green khakis with no shirt on. < Oh good lord > “Hi Xander.” Willow said embarrassed.

“Hey Will. I actually cleaned my room, you’d be proud of me.”

“Really? Wow. What made you do that?”

“Well, I got tired of trying to hunt around to find my clothes and stuff, so I got out the vacuum and dust rags and got to work. I actually forgot what my carpet looked like.”

“That’s great. Um can I come in?”

“Huh? Oh yeah, sorry.” Willow stepped inside Xander’s house and made her way into his room. She sat down on his bed and looked around.

“So, I like your room, Xan. It’s spotless!”

“Thanks. It took awhile, but I like the results.”

“Your mom might faint you know.”

“Yeah, but once she wakes up, she’ll be happy. So Will, what did you want to talk about? Did you wanna study or something?” < God she looks good. I want to kiss her so bad… >

“Oh, right the talking thing, yeah. Um, well...” < Stall, stall, stall… >

“What is it Will? Are you mad about something? < I hope she’s not mad at me >

“No, that isn’t it. You’re probably gonna be mad at me after I say this, but let me start. Okay, when I came to school this morning, I was really tired from lack of sleep, so I fell asleep on one of the tables in the library. I was sleeping, but I wasn’t out cold. So, when you came in and picked me up, I was still kinda dozing, but not so that I couldn’t hear or feel anything.”

Xander’s face dropped two shades of white. “You mean you heard…”

“Yeah, I heard everything you said to me. I should have told you that I wasn’t really sleeping, but I was too shocked to do anything. I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry Willow. I wanted you to hear what I said, but I wish you would’ve told me before. I shouldn’t have said anything. I feel so embarrassed.” Xander began pacing around the room in a frenzy.

Willow stood up and grabbed his shoulder. They both looked at each other nervously. “Don’t be embarrassed, Xander. Do you know how long I’ve waited to hear you tell me all those things? Do you even *know*? I have waited 10 long years to hear those words come out of your mouth. When you left the library today, I cried so long and hard because I couldn’t believe you confessed everything to me. And you cried, which made me confused even more.”

“You wanted me to say those words to you?” Xander asked.

“Yes, Xander, I have. And I totally agree with everything you said too.”

“You mean….”

“Yes, I love you Xander. More than my own life.” Willow replied. She sat back down on his bed and started to cry.

“I love you too Willow. I don’t know what I’d do without you.” Xander said, his voice wavering. He sat down next to her, and stared into her beautiful green eyes. “You are the one good thing in my life, and if you ever left, I’d go crazy. I can’t go through life without you, Will. I’ve tried because you’re with Oz, but I’m failing miserably. I keep having dreams where I’m holding you in my arms, and I never want to let you go, but you break free and run to Oz. I can’t do this anymore, I want to be with you so bad, Willow. I meant every single word I told you this afternoon. It might sound a little sappy, but just knowing you’re going to be there for me every day means more to me then winning the lottery. I just wanted you to know that I—”

Willow looked into Xander’s chocolate brown eyes, and smiled. She put her finger to his lips. “Shh. I know, Xander, I know.” She closed her eyes, and wrapped her arms around his neck. He leaned forward and captured her lips with his and suddenly it felt like everything fell into place. Nothing else mattered to either of them except eachother. It was like fireworks exploded in their bodies, and neither one wanted to stop. Xander ran his hand through her hair and smiled through the kiss. She was the one. Willow was the woman he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. He knew it before, but now he was certain. < I don’t ever want to let go of her >

Willow thought that she died and gone to heaven. < So this is what love feels like > She melted into his arms and broke the kiss for air.

“Wow.”

“Yeah, I’d say that was the right word to use.”

“I love you so much Xander.”

“I love you too, Willow.”

She nestled her head on his chest and they held eachother tight, never wanting to let go of the other, and fell asleep smiling.
