Chapter 1 (by shauna) I took a deep breath before opening the door to Liberty High, it was the first day of school, and things were as crazy as ever. I walked into the school, and watched as various students buzzed around me, complaining to their friends about the teachers they’d gotten, and already saying how terrible the year was going to be. As I made my way to my homeroom I suddenly felt a tug at my left shoulder, and whirled around to find Bray Adams smiling down at me. “Amber, when’d you get here?” he asked casually. “About two seconds before you.” I replied sweetly. “Oh..yeah…so who do you have for homeroom? Maybe we have the same class.” He said as he smiled at me. “Zimmerman.” I said as I glanced at the blue schedule held in my right hand. “Wow! So do I! I can already Tell Amb, it’s gonna be a great year” he said as he playfully slugged me in the shoulder. I laughed and slugged him back. He just gave me that funny smile again, like he wanted to tell me something but couldn’t bring himself to do so. “Well, well, well, look at the two love birds! Well , soon to be love birds!” said Lex as he appeared behind Bray and clapped his hand down on his shoulder in greeting. Bray turned and gave him an odd look before saying “Ha ha, real funny, you know me an Amb are just friends Lex.” “Sure buddy, whatever you say!” said Lex as he winked at me. I rolled my eyes and shifted the backpack of new textbooks to my other shoulder. “Well, I guess we better be going!” said Bray as he turned to me and motioned for me to follow him to homeroom. “Not so fast friend! I have Zimmerman too! Isn’t this great?” said Lex as he squeezed in between us and put an arm around both out necks. “Perfect.” Muttered Bray under his breath. I wondered why he was so irritated that Lex had the same room, after all, they were best friends, shouldn’t he be thrilled to have him in the same homeroom? I felt Lex’s hand rubbing my shoulder and gave him a cold look before steping out of his hold; Bray did the same. “Aww! Oh I see how it is!” said Lex dramatically as he walked a couple feet behind Bray and I. “Are you ok Bray?” I asked as I glanced over at him, noticing the deathly stare he was giving back to Lex. He turned back to me. “Of course! Better than ever.” Said Bray. “You sure?.” I replied, but Bray had no time to reply as the loud bell sounded overhead and the three of us scrambled into the room, taking 3 seats next to each other in the back of the class, me in between Lex and Bray.
Part 2- (by me) Taisan walked into Mr. Zimmerman’s homeroom, not knowing what to expect, everyone in this class had been at Liberty High for at least one year, and it was her first. A guy with dark black hair looked at her as she walked past. Taisan sat next to a girl with braids in her hair. “ Hi, I’m Ebony” the girl said as she stuck her hand out. “I’m Taisan” Taisan said, shaking Ebony’s hand. “So, it’s your first year here, huh?” “Yea” ”Well beware of Mr. Zimmerman, I had him last year too, he’s not the greatest teacher here” “Thanks for the advice” Taisan said thinking, was that really advice? Just then Mr. Zimmerman walked in. “Alright class, take your seats” He said. Everyone sat down. “Alright, first things first: Bray Adams” “here” “Amber Atkins” “Here” By the time he got to Taisan it had been 10 minutes, He had already given 3 kids detention, including the guy with black hair.
Part 3 ~ Bray's POV (by shauna) I sat across from Amber in the local pizza place, wondering what to say next as she chattered on about the first day of school and how she’d met some new girl named Tai-San. Now don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t trying to zone her out, but I couldn’t seem to concentrate on what she was saying, all I could do was stare at her, and wonder how it would be if we were ever a couple. But it was all just a fantasy, I knew Amber would never like me as more than a friend, she didn’t go for guys like me. Why you ask? I don’t know. “Bray? Hello? Are you in there?” said Amber as she reached over the table we were sitting at and waved her slender, manicured hand in my face. I instantly snapped out of my daydream, and blushed, embarrassed that she’d noticed my lack of concentration on her endless talk. “Oh…yeah, sorry.” I said quickly before picking up a piece of pizza and taking a big bite, so I wouldn’t have to say anything else. “Are you ok Bray? You’ve been acting weird today. You barely talked to me in homeroom and I felt like you were on a different planet in English.” Said Amber before taking a sip of her vanilla coke. I chewed the bite of pizza I had taken and swallowed before replying. “No, I’m fine, guess it’s just overwhelming, you know, the first day of school and all, new teachers, new girls.” I said with a wink, trying to sound like I was interested in other girls, when really, I hadn’t taken a single look at another girl the entire day. Amber giggled at my last comment and raised an eyebrow in amusement. “I’m sure they’re already lining up aren’t they? Want me to fight em off?” she said as she gave me that perfect smile, revealing her snow white teeth. “I can handle the lot of them.” I forced myself to say as a sharp pain ripped through me; I was dying to kiss her, to just tell her how I really felt, but I held back, I didn’t want to jeopardize our 6 year friendship. She smiled again and said “I’m sure you can!” I watched her glance at her watch. “Oh no! It’s 10:30! My mom is going to kill me! Give me a ride home?” she asked sweetly as she stood up and reached for her purse. “Of course! Just let me pay for our food real quick.” I said all too eagerly. She opened her purse and fumbled around in it before pulling out a crumpled five dollar bill, for her own meal. “Oh no! It’s on me.” I said as I gave the passing waitress a ten dollar bill and ushered Amber out the door to my black Ford Explorer. I walked around to the passenger side and opened the door for her to get in. She laughed and said “Well this is new, since when have you ever opened the door for me?” I looked at her for a long moment before finally saying “Since now.” And with that, I walked around to the driver’s side and slid into the seat, put the key in the ignition, and started the Explorer up, letting it sit running for a minute or two while I tuned in a good radio station. “Leave it there!” said Amber as I flipped to a station and the soft lyrics to Savage Garden’s “Truly, Madly, Deeply” Filled the car. “I’ll be you’re dream, I’ll be your wish, I’ll be your fantasy.” Sang Amber along with the radio. I pulled out of the parking space and out onto the road, heading to Amber’s house, and after what seemed way too soon, I pulled onto her street and slowed to a stop in front of her house. “Thanks Bray, you’re such a sweetie!” said Amber as she leaned over the seat and kissed my cheek. “Goodnight!” she said cheerfully before getting out of the car. “Night Amber.” I said before she shut the door. She smiled and scurried up the sidewalk, soon disappearing into her house. I touched my cheek in the place in which she’d kissed and let out a long sigh before peeling off down the street, back home; to sleep, and dream of the girl that’d I’d wanted for so long but knew I’d never have.
Part 4- (by me) Taisan was on her way home when the guy with black hair, lex, pulled over in his truck. "Hey want a ride?" he asked. "Sure" Taisan replied. The strange thing about it was she hardly knew him and she was already getting into a car with him. "So you're Taisan, right?" "Yea, and you're.... Lex" "Yea, so where do you live?" (the street names crazy but o well!) " On Calaway Ave" He looked at her. "that's really far and you have to walk every day?" "Yea, but it's really not a problem" "Well how about I drive to and from school every day. At least until you can drive" "Sure" she said with a smile. When they finally got to her house Taisan was so happy. She had the biggest crush on him and he seemed so.... well.... different then any other guy she had dated. "Thanks for the ride" "No problem" he said. "bye" she said. "bye" he replied as he drove off.
Part 5 ~ Amber’s Point of View (by shauna) I sat up in my bed, pounded my alarm clock that was ringing ever so loudly this mourning, and stretched out before getting up and getting quickly dressed. I then headed to the bathroom to wash my face, brush my teeth, do my hair, and apply the little make-up that I did wear. About 45 minutes later, I was dressed and ready to go; my hair up in a ponytail of ringlets. I grabbed my back pack full of school books and homework I hadn’t bothered to do the night before and rushed out the front door of my house to see Bray waiting for me. I shivered as I walked to his Explorer, It was colder than I thought it’d be. He reached over and pushed the door open for me. I slid in. “Mourning Amb.” He said as he glanced out on the road before slowly entering it again. I looked over at him and noticed something different, “You cut your hair! Why?!” I demanded. “You don’t like it?” said Bray with a frown. “No, it’s not that, It’s just different. Looks very sexy actually!” I said with a laugh as I reached over and ran my hand through his short brown hair. “Sexy?” he said with a raised eyebrow. “Sure…If that’s what you’re going for!” I said with a giggle. “What’s so funny?” he asked as he turned into the school parking lot. “Oh nothing!” I replied sweetly, stifling another giggle. We both got out, slamming the doors shut. He turned on his alarm and locked the doors before walking along side me into the school. We looked around for our gang, when we heard a yell come from behind us, “Hey Amber! Bray! Get your love bird buts over here!” said Lex laughing. Bray and I looked at each other at the same time and rolled our eyes before proceeding to Lex and everyone else. I noticed a new girl standing beside Lex. “Who’s this??” I asked, motioning toward her. “Oh! This is Tai-San guys! Tai, this is Amber and Bray. They pretend they don’t love each other, but I know the truth!” said Lex. I rolled my eyes again, “You’re just quite the jokester today aren’t you Lex?” I said. “Aren’t I always Amb?” he said as he laughed at himself. “Oh! I met you in Trig yesturday didn’t I?” I said, suddenly remembering Tai-San. “Yeah.” She said softly. I turned to the other two people in our little group of people, Jay and Ebony, who were chatting up a storm. “So what’s the deal with you two?” I asked, a sly smile playing on my lips. “Nothing…we were just talking about our classes…” said Jay quickly. I could see the disappointment in Ebony’s eyes as Jay said those words, and could tell that she wanted him, wanted him bad. “So Where were you two last night? I called like at 10:15 Amb, but your mom said you were still out, and your mom said the same Bray….now what movie were you two making out in?” he asked with another laugh. “I aughta punch you a good one mate.” Said Bray, holding up a fist to intimidate Lex. Lex turned his face sideways towards Bray, “Lay it on me good buddy! But you know I’m right!” he said. Bray just shook his head and turned to walk to homeroom, annoyed by Lex’s constant jokes. I ran to catch up with him, “What’s wrong?” I asked. “Nothing….he just gets on my nerves sometimes, with all those dumb comments he makes.” Said Bray. “Oh don’t listen to Lex Bray! You know he’s only trying to annoy us!” I said as I took his hand in mine, as a friendly gesture to comfort him. We heard a whistle from behind us and Lex’s loud voice call out, “Go get em Tiger!” We both heaved big sighs and turned into our room, soon followed by Lex, who was chatting with Tai-San, and Ebony and Jay, who were now deep in conversation, every now and then I’d see Jay glance over longingly at Ebony. I made a mental note to set those two up
Part 6 - TaiSan’s POV (by shauna) As I sit here in English lit and watch Lex chat with a few guys in his row of seats I can’t help but wonder what he’s like when he’s not with them, if he’s really as goofy and tough as he tries to make himself appear. I smile as I catch him taking a glimpse at me out of the corner of his eye, he catches me too and gives me a little smile too as he continues to talk to his mates. “Ok Class! Settle down now, no one ever leaned anything by not listening!” said our cheerful teacher Mrs. Lea, she smiled brightly at the class of students, most of which had stopped talking, all except Lex and one of those guys it is. “Mr. Lexington, would you like to share something with the class?” said Mrs. Lea brightly, all attention being directed to Lex. “Lex Lexington? How strange!” I thought to myself. “Sure teach!” said Lex with a smirk. “And what would you like to share Alex?” said Mrs. Lea, waiting for his reply. “Alex Lexington….cute..” I thought to myself with a smile. “Well, Ryan here wanted some advice on how to attract Salene over there,” started Lex, pointing to the front at Salene, who turned bright red in the face. “And I was giving him some pointers!” he finished. Mrs. Lea was silent for a moment, not sure how to respond, “Well Mr. Lexington, thanks for sharing, now can we get to our studies?” she asked politely. “Sure teach.” Said Lex. It took all I had not to burst out laughing, his sarcasm just brought me so many giggles, it drew me to him, and for the remainder of the class, I watched him, smiling when he’d complain about be called upon to read a few lines of Romeo and Juliet from our Text book. Finally, after what seemed like only a few minutes to me, but hours to everyone else, the bell let out a shrill cry and the students scrambled out of their desks and into the hallway. “Remember class, read to page 113!” called Mrs. Lea to all the retreating backs. I was sitting in the back so I waited for it to clear out before I started to walk out, but as I walked to the front of the classroom, I was startled to see Lex standing by his seat in the front, his thumb hooked in the pocket of his Lee jeans as he flashed me a smile. “Hey,” he said. “H- h- hi.” I croaked, wanting to hit myself for the way my voice must have sounded. “Whatcha have next?” asked Lex. I looked at the B-day part of my schedule, “Chemistry.” I said softly. “Really? Who with?” he asked, his eyes seeming to light up at my reply, confusing me a bit. “Bennet.” I said glancing at my schedule again. “Awesome, let’s go, I have old Mr.Bennet as well, should be another fun filled class I’m sure.” Said Lex with a smirk as he motioned for me to walk forward as he followed. “Wow,” I thought, “He really is a gentlemen.” I watched him appear at my side as we exited the class and walked into the student filled hallways, everyone pushing and shoving to get to their class before the tardy bell. I felt Lex take a hold of my hand, sending shivers up my spine, and looked over at him. “So we won’t get separated.” Said Lex, explaining his sudden hand intertwined in mine as he pulled me off down the hallway to our next class. But I was already on cloud 9, his hand in mine was all I could think about at the moment, who cared if we were late for class, I sure didn’t.
Chapter 7 - Lex's POV (by shauna again) After an hour of Chemistery, and a lot of eye contact, me and Tai-San both sighed with relief as the bell rang, signaling for us to leave and for lunch to begin. We walked silently, side by side, to the lunchroom, not sure of what to say to each other. But relieved when we saw our friends signal us to a table by the windows. "Hey guys! Over here!" called Amber. I watched my best mate Bray sitting across from here as she waved us over, and noticed the frown on his face as he gazed at Amber; I knew why though, it was because he was in love with her, and he still didnt know how she felt. I wondered why he didnt just tell her how he felt once and for all, but I don't blame him too much, for I wouldn't wanna get rejected by someone like Amber either, she was beautiful, and she knew it. "Hey there love birds!" I said to them as I sat down across from Bray, and Tai-San took a seat next to me acorss from Amber. I watched Bray's face turn bright red and Amber roll her eyes at me. "So where's the other pair attached at the hip?" I asked as I glanced at Amber's lunch, which she'd brought herself, consisting of a Turkey sandwich, celery sticks, a bag of about 5 Oreos, and a Diet Coke. "You mean Jay and Ebony?" said Amber. "Of course, who else?" I said. "They're in the plate lunch line," said Amber before biting into her sandwich. "Not gonna eat Bray?" I asked as I watched Bray sit in silence, pretending he didn't notice Amber, but sneaking a glance at her every now and then. "What?" he said, obviously not having listened to what I had asked. "Oh nothing!" I said as I rolled my eyes at the two. Soon we saw Jay and Ebony exit the lunch line and walk toward our table, both carrying yellow trays, and laughing between each other about something as they walked. "So what'cha got there, blondie?" I asked Jay as he sat down next to Tai-San and Ebony sat next to him. Jay shot me a look, hating when I called him that. "Foodâ€" he mumbled as he sat the tray on the table. I stared at the stuff he called food, and didn't quite trust that he was right, for in the middle, there lay a piece of something meat-like, but not really in the category, because anyways, was meat supposed to be greenish? Needless to say, the only thing Jay and Ebony ate off their trays was the bags of chips they'd bought and the Ice Cream they'd dished out at the end of the line. They didn't really talk to anyone but each other the whole lunch; I'd look over and think "Why doesn't he just kiss her already?" or "Why doesn't he ask her out instead of playing all cool?" "So what's on the schedule for after school?" I asked a few minutes before the bell to go to class was supposed to ring. "Spin?" said Amber. Spin was the local hamburger and pizza place most students from Liberty High hung out. "Sure, why not," I turned to Tai-San, "wanna come with us?" I asked her casually. She gave me a nervous smile and said "Yeah, that'd be fun I suppose!" "Great!" I said just as the bell rang and we all moaned as we headed to our last class of the day. "Whatcha got?" I asked Tai-San. "Creative Writing," said Tai-San as she walked beside me out of the lunchroom. I laughed, "Well, I knoew I don't have that! So I guess I'll see you later after school?" I said. "Of course," said Tai-San brightly as we parted ways, but not before glancing at each other for a long moment, causing each of us to blush. "Woah," I thought, "did I just blush?"
Part 8-(by me) "So Jay, wanna walk to Spin?" Ebony asked. "Sure" he answered her. "Jay?" "Yea Ebony?" "Where do you live?" she asked. "why do you want to know?" he asked. "i dont know, i was just wondering" she said as she started to blush a little. what a stupid question! she thought to herself. "how long have you lived here?" jay asked, he was so nervous. he really liked her but didnt know how to express his feelings for her. "my whole life" "o" he said, why did i askher that?" (they were almost there, spin was just around the street) "jay i dont know how to say this, but i really really really like you" "i like u too" "u do?" you are not just saying that are you?" she asked. "why would i?" he said as he kissed her. "whoa" they both thought. "we should get to spin" ebony said. "yea" jay agreed and the both started to walk a little faster. "i wonder where everyone is" amber said to bray. "hey amb, srry we're late!" ebony said as she and jay walked to the table. "it's ok, just where are lex and taisan?" amber asked. "i dont know" ebony said. "yea we didnt see them on the way here" jay added. amber let out a huge sigh and wondered " where are they?"
Chapter 9: Part 1 TaiSan's POV (by ladyjade) Lex met me outside my last class of the day. "So are you ready to go." he asked. "Yeah. Let's get out of here." I said relieved that the day was finally over. Since all I could think about since lunch was Lex and those sexy bedroom eyes of his. "Ok, then let's go babe." Lex said in that sexyvoice of his. At that moment all I wanted to do wasgrab him and kiss him. What am I thinking, I hardly know him. I think that I'll let him make the first move. Lex wanted to go to his favorite spot before we went to Spin. He took me to a littlepark not far from school. Then he told me that he really liked me and that he had never felt this way about any girl before.Then he kissed me, soft and tenderly. It was the greatest kiss I had ever had. Then he grabed my hand and we headed to Spin. Part 2: Bray's POV "So where do you think those two are?" asked Bray. Just as Tai-San & Lex strolled in holding hands and laughing. "Hey lovebirds! " he shouted at me and Amber. we just lookedat eachother and rolled our eyes. "Sorry we're late." Tai-San said "No problem we were just about to order." said Amber . God I love to hear her voice it's so soft and sweet, almost like an angel.I could listen to her all day. I just wish I could tell her how I feel about her ,but every time I try I just can't seem to get the words out. "So Bray are your parents going out of town this weekend?" Lex asked snaping me out of my thoughts. "Yeah they leave Friday morning. So it will just be me and Martin." I told him. "Martin's home! When did he get back?" Lex, Amber, Ebony, & Jay all shouted at once. "Last night." I mumbled . " Look guys can we Not talk about this right now.OK." "Who is Martin?" Tai-San asked. " My little brother, he's been at Military School for the last two years. Because he got into some trouble." I told her. " So anyway lets have a party at your house Friday night Bray. Whatcha think huh." Jay asked. " Ok I guess, just this time you better help me clean up after it. " I said thinking to myself that this was the perfect chance to finally tell Amber how I felt. We got two large pizza's and talked about everthing but my little brother. Part 3: Ebony's POV After what seemed like forever we finally left Spin and our friends. Jay walked me home. "So wonder why Martin's home. " Jay said as we walked up to my door. "I don't know. Maybe he's changed and they are giving him a second chance. " "Well if that is it then he needs to stay far away from Trudy. " Jay said. " Yeah she is diffinately bad news . I mean she was the one you got him to steel that car. So that he got sent away in the first place." I said " Well anyways I'll pick you up here on Friday at 7 for Bray's party ok?" "Yeah that would be great!" I exclaimed. "Well goodnight then Ebs." he said as he puled me in for a long goodnight kiss. I wish I could stay in his arms forever. But it was late and I needed to get some sleep. So we said goodbye again and he left. I went into my house and closed the door. Then I leaned up against it , I could still feel the warmth of his lips on mine as I climed into bed.
Part 10- (by me) Lex and Taisan left Spin and started to walk home ( they left the car at the park) They went back to the park and sat down on the bench again. "Lex did you mean what you said?" Taisan asked. "Of course i did" he replied. "Really? you're not just oulling a routine on me?" "really" he said as he leaned over and kissed her. Taisan broke away from the kiss and said," Lex, i really like you too" he smiled and kissed her again. "Thanks for the ride bray" amber said as she gave him a kiss on the cheek and got out of the car. "Anytime Am" he said as she smiled at him. "hey amber?" "yea?" "do you wanna see a movie or something Friday?" he asked her, nervously. "sure why not!" she answered, "well i gotta go, it's already 11:00 and i promised my dad that I'd be home at 10:30. Bye!" "bye" he said as he drove off, very happily. (the next day at school) "hey lovers" lex said as he and taisan walked up to bray and amber, hand in hand again. "speak for yourself" bray said, pointing out that they were holding hands. Lex then dropped the subject.
Chapter 11 (by shauna) Amber’s POV ***At the Movies Friday night*** I sat rigidly in my uncomfortable movie seat, aware of Bray’s hand on the arm rest, which I’d see every other second, edge further off of the rest towards me. But just as I thought his hand would fall off into my lap, he’d quickly move it back again, I guess changing his mind. I didn’t know why, but it disappointed me when he pulled it away, made me feel un loved, and not cared about. We both sat there in silence throughout the movie, only laughing at the parts we were supposed to, but never talking to each other directly. After what seemed like years to me, the movie finally ended and I stood up, straightening my blue jean skirt and pink halter that revealed a couple inches of my bare midriff. I saw Bray sneak a glance at me as he stood and raised an eyebrow; what was with him tonight? These past couple weeks, he’d been acting so weird around me, and he didn’t talk near as much as he used to. “Bray?” I said when we had reached the outside of the theatre and were taking the long journey back home (We had walked there, don’t ask, I don’t know what had possessed us to do that). “Yeah?” he said softly. “Are you ok? You’ve been acting rally strange lately.” I said, looking over at him. He had his hands deep in his blue jean pockets and his eyes were focused on the sidewalk we were strolling along on. “What makes you say that?” he asked. “I don’t know..” I said, “You just seem so distant these days, as If you want to tell me something but you can’t bring yourself to.” I saw Bray frown for a split second, “You can tell me anything you know? I’m always here to listen…to anything you want to share..” I said, urging him to tell me what’s up. “You wouldn’t be able to help me this time.” Said Bray.” “Try me.” I said. **Bray’s POV** “Should I just tell her?” I thought to myself as we continued to walk. It was obvious she’d noticed something was bugging me. But for some reason, I just didn’t want to risk it, didn’t want to go out on a limb, for fear of being rejected; something I just couldn’t take coming from her. “No Amber, I’d really rather not share.” I said quietly. I saw her lips turn downward in a small frown at my words, but she didn’t say anything expressing any sadness. “Ok, well, I’m here if you ever want to let me in on what’s going on.” She said, trying to sound sweet. But I wasn’t fooled, I could detect that hint of disappointment in her voice. We were now passing the park on the sidewalk we were walking on, “Wanna swing?” I blurted out. “Umm..sure..” said Amber with a bit of a laugh as she suddenly took off to the swings, and I ran after her. She jumped onto it and began pumping her legs back and forth to make the swing go higher, “Hey Bray, I’m gonna jump to you!” she said, seeing me walk in front of the swing. I laughed and held my arms apart and stood in front of her swing, ready to catch her if she really was going to jump out of the swing to me. And then she did it, just flew right out of the swing! I was startled and surprised that she’d actually been serious about it, but just as I had expected, she came sailing right into my arms, causing us both to fall back into the sand of the playground, her landing right on top of me. We just sat there like that for the longest moment, laughing and breathing hard. But suddenly we both grew silent, and without a moment’s hesitation, she pressed her lips forcefully against mine, in a kiss I’d never forget, as long as I lived, for it was my first kiss, from the girl of my dreams.
Chapter 12: Part 1 Jay's POV(by kimberly/ladyjade) I was at Ebony's house waiting for her to get out of the kitchen with our drinks so that we could finish watching the movie. We had decided to have some time alone just the two of us. Bray was somewhere with Amber ,and Lex and Tai-San were who knows where. Me personally I was with the only person that mattered my girlfriend Ebony. We had only been dating offically for about a week but it felt like we had been together forever. "Ebony, what's taking you so long ."I yelled to her. "Sorry Jay my dad suck the soda behide his damn beer ." she hollered back. So i got up to go help her. When I got to the kitchen I just stood there in the door way watching her she look so sexy in her tight low rider jeans ( that hugged her silm waist to perfection). God she was beuatiful. She just keep struggling to get past her dad's beer. "Here let me get It ." I told her. "Thanks Jay, I don't know why he did that." she said. "Probly so that he could get to it easy." "Yeah, you're probly right." she said as I was pulling out two Pepsi's for us. there you go ." I said handing her one of them. "Lets get back to the movie." she replied . We got back into the living room and sat down on the couch pratically on top of eachother. When the movie was over I said " Ok my turn to pick." "Oh , really. You nly think so.Well we'll just see about that." she said as she grabed me and kissed me till I couldn't remember what the heck we were talking about. Part 2: Amber's POV The kiss ended a lot sooner then I wanted it to. I didn't even know for sure what possesed me to kiss Bray in the first place. Well maybe I did. I had wanted it for years But did he. "Um ...Amber can we talk."Bray asked me. "Sure."I said . Feeling a bit let down, I just knew the kiss was a bad idea. He was going to tell me that he just didn't feel the same way about me that I felt about him. "Amber , I was wondering if maybe you and I should be ....." he strated to say. "Just friends right." I said a little pissed off. "No actually ,I want to be more then friends. That kiss we just shared ,well to tell you the truth I have wanted to do that since the first time I saw you." he said. I just sat there on the cold sand not knowing what to say. I couldn't believe it he really did feel the same way. "So what do you think Amber will you be my girlfriend?" "Yes!" I said finally finding my voice again. Then he grabed me and kissed me like I had never been kissed before.
Part 13 (by shauna) Amber’s POV *A lonely Tuesday at School* I sat tapping my pencil on my desk as I sat in my Advanced Journalism class, alone; for none of my friends were in a class like this, only I was dumb enough to take on the challenge! For some reason my teacher had gone all off on attribution and how you should give the people that you quote in your stories credit, blah blah blah. Stuff we leaned in Journalism 1 last year. So slowly but surely, I drifted off, into my own dream world, thinking about how great these past few days had been since Bray and I had finally gotten it together. Of course, Lex wouldn’t let us live it down when he found out, still hasn’t. But all his taunting is worth it if that means I finally get to be with the guy I’ve had a crush on since middle school; and maybe even love. But what is love really? Does anyone really and truly know what it means to love someone? If they do, they need to drop me a hint. Because I’m not entirely sure what it involves, which is why I’ll be safe for now and just say I’m head over heels for Bray, wanted to be his since day one, just didn’t know he’d wanted me just as much. I guess we’re both pretty good at putting up the whole friends act. Suddenly I was tapped on the shoulder by someone behind me and a note was dropped over my shoulder, fluttering down onto the desk in front of me. I looked up at my teacher, making sure I was in the clear before I dared to read it. When I saw that she was busily scribbling on the chalkboard, I carefully unfolded the piece of paper and silently read the note, with handwriting that I didn’t recognize as Bray’s. This is what it said… Amber, Hope it doesn’t startle you to receive a note like this. I promise I’m not some crazy psycho who’s stalking you! Anyways, I wanted to write you and say that I’ve fallen completely head over heels for you, you’re the last thing I think of before I go to bed at night, and the first thing when I wake up. Oh, and I know you have a boyfriend now (Yes, word does get around quick at this school!), but I’m certain that I could satisfy you a whole lot more than this Bray fella. Anyways, just thought I’d share my feelings with you; who knows, maybe you feel the same about me. I hope so. Signed, -an admire I looked back at the girl who had dropped it over my shoulders and she shrugged and pointed to a guy behind her. I peeked around her and my eyes fell upon a guy I’d seen around but never really talked to much. He had big brown eyes, and short, thick brown hair, with a few blond streaks in it. He sported a hawaiian print shirt and cargo jeans. And I had to admit; he was rather attractive. My eyes shifted down to his desk, where he was concentrating on a “Popular Science” magazine, and tuning out the attribution lecture just as I was. I just sat there, staring at him for a long moment, when finally he looked up and caught me, I quickly turned around, and faced forward the rest of the class. After what seemed like an eternity, the bell finally did ring, and since it was the last class of the day, I picked my books up and started to head out into the hallway, towards my locker. When I got to it, I found a rose taped to it, and for some reason, felt a bit scared, not knowing if I should open my locker or not, for fear of something jumping out at me. But still, I timidly turned the dial to the numbers of my combination, “3, 42, 21...” I mumbled to myself before hearing the lock click out of place and the locker swing open. I smiled and let out a sigh of relief when I saw a note written in Bray’s handwriting taped to the inside. I set my books down in the bottom of the locker and quickly snatched up the note to read. It said… Amber, Haha, hope no one stole the rose I put on your locker! If not, hope you like it. Couldn’t help but think of you when I saw it in the store this mourning before school! Well, call me on my cell at around 4;30 ok? Got an extra long basketball practice. Talk to you later Amb. -Bray I smiled at the note. Bray never was a good note writer, I thought to myself. I stuck the note in my backpack and selected the necessary books for the nights homework before slamming my locker shut and turning to walk down the now near empty hallway and out to freedom. As I turned I spotted the guy that I’d stared at during last class, he was across the hall, his back to me, rummaging around for his books and stuff in his own locker. I knew it was him, for no one else had that bright orange button up shirt, no one else would be brave enough to wear something like that! I wondered if he had been the one who had written me the admirer note or had he just passed it on as the girl behind me had. And as if he knew I was staring at him, he turned around in one quick motion, shutting his locker in the process and catching me for the second time that day. I felt me cheeks turn hot as he approached me, taking long, confident strides. When he got to me he smiled, “Hi…couldn’t help but notice you staring at me there…I’m Jack, and you’re Amber right?” he said, holding out his hand. I shifted my backpack to my shoulders and shook his hand. “Yeah...” I mumbled, wanting to crawl into my locker and die of embarrassment. “You’re in my Journalism class aren’t you?” asked Jack, as if trying to remember where he’d seen me before. “Yeah…” I said again, thinking to myself about what a retard I must sound like right now. “Well, I was about to head home…need a ride?” he asked. “Sure…” I said, thankful that I wouldn’t have to walk the mile and half home with these heavy books. “Ok then, lets go!” he said as he began to stride off, and motioned for me to follow. I ran to catch up with him until he slowed down a bit and I fell into step next to him, heading for the student parking lot.
Chapter 14: Part 1 Bray"s POV (by kimberly) I got out of practice late . It was already like 5pm. I checked my cell phone to see if Amber had called me yet. I started to worry becuase Amber always calls me when she says she will . So I dicided to call her house. The phone rang about three times and I heard her mom say " hello." "Hi is Amber there." I said. "No she isn't , Bray I thought she was with you.She hasn't even come home from school yet. " her mom said reconizingmy voice. "No , I had a late practice today and she was supposed to call me about half an hour ago. I thought she was home." now I was really starting to panic " Well if she gets home soon I'll tell her that you called." "Thankyou" I said has I hung up. I was really worried now she wasn't at home and she hadn't called me , So I rushed out of school got in my car And headed for Spin. Maybe she was there waiting to see if I would show up.I have to believe that she was ok... ************************************************** ** Part 2 : Lex's POV Tai-San and I were sitting In Spin when Bray come thru the door looking around frantically. He spotted us and rush over. "Hey man, what's up where is your better half." I said to him. "You haven't seen Amber then?" he said I could tell that something wasn't right. "No , man we haven't seen her since lunch. " now Bray looked as if he was going to faint. Tai-San started to look worried too. "when was the last time you saw her." Tai-San said. "This morning before school. It's kinda been a really lousy day guys . Anyway I have to find her." then just like that he was off out the door.
Part 3: Jay's POV Ebony and I were just getting out of my car at Spin when Bray came running out nearly knocking me and Ebony over. "Whoa man slow down , who lit the fire under your a**."I asked him. "Have either of you seen Amber since school let out?" he asked "No, oh wait a minute I think I saw her with some geek in a orange shrit I think he was giving her a ride home." Ebony said. "Well then she never made it home. I have to find her. Can you help find her, I just feel like something really bad has happened to her." he said with tears in his eyes. "Let's go find her!" I yelled and we all jumped in our cars and started searching for Amber. Part 4: Amber's POV I woke up to voices talking, my head really hurt. All I remember is walking out to Jack's car with him then nothing but darkness. And "where the hell am I!" I shouted out loud. "Sh*t! She's awake!" one voice said. " Just take care of her He wouldn't like it If anything happened to her" I heard the other one say." Well at least they didn't want to hurt me. But where was I and who wouldn't want me hurt God I want Bray Please let Bray find me.......
Chapte15 (by me) The Next Day At School "Hey Taisan have you seen Amber?" Bray asked with a worried look on his face. "No, I called her a couple of times last night but she hasnt responded" Taisan answered. "Okay, thanks Taisan" he said as he started to walk away. "Wait Bray, didnt you find her last night?" "No, I havent seen her for 1 day now" He said really nervously. "Are you serious?" she asked. "Why would I be lying?" "I dont know" she answered. "Well I gotta go" he said. "Bye" Taisan said. "Where am I!?" Amber demanded. "You're in my basement" a man answered. "Who are you!?" "We cant tell you, so just stop asking questions and cooperate with us" "What do you want?" "We want you to dump Bray, and become enemies with all your friends, except Taisan. Then you have to become Jack's girlfriend." "WHAT!? Jack are you a part of this? I know that's you up there!" He didnt respond. "Jack!" Amber yelled. "Okay, yes Amber it's me Jack, and that's Mega! Happy now?" "Yes I am" "Mega, shut her up!" jack said. Mega then took ducktape and put some over her mouth. "So Mega, you want Taisan right?" "Yep" he responded. "Let's go get her then" Jack said as he and Mega exited the garage and locked the door. Amber was really scared now, they were kidnapping people! And she was their first. Taisan turned on her CD player as she sat on the bench out side of school waiting for Lex. She had to come early that day so she walked to school. All of a sudden..........................
Chapter 16 (by shauna) Tai-San’s POV I sat on the wooden bench outside our school, listening to the loud lyrics of Maroon 5’s “Harder to Breathe” and waiting for Lex to show up. My head bobbed to and fro to the beat of the music blasting in me ears, when suddenly, I felt a hand close tightly around my mouth. I didn’t get scared, for I figured it must be Lex, for no one else would grab me like that…would they? “Guess who?” came his light, playful voice, dissolving all my doubts or any fears that had started to creep into my mind. “Good lord Lex! You scared the bejeeziz out of me!” I said, though you couldn’t really make out my words, since they were being muffled by Lex’s hand. “Oh..sorry babe.” He said, dropping his hand and walking around to sit down next to me. “It’s early…I went to pick you up at your house, but your mom said you’d left already, so what’s up?” he asked coolly. I looked over and suppressed a laugh at his hurt expression, from my not being there when he came to get me at my house. “I just felt like a walk is all.” I replied smoothly, poking him in the ribs as I continued, “I didn’t hurt your feelings did I?” I teased with a small giggle. “Me? No! Never!” he said as he puffed out his chest, “Men never get hurt feelings babe!” he added. “Sure hun…sure…” I said with a wink as he brought his hand to my cheek and brushed the few strands of my dark hair that had fallen over my eyes away, and traced the outline of it before leaning in to give me a soft kiss. I eagerly kissed back, but after a few moments, glanced over at my watch and let out a silent gasp as I pulled away. “What’s wrong?” said Lex, taking my hands in his. “Nothing…but my first class started 15 minutes ago, I have to go!” I said, not realizing how much time had lapsed since his arrival. Amber’s POV I was now seated on a lumpy sofa, my hands tied behind my back with a scarf, but the tape now removed from my mouth. I looked around, glaring at Mega and Jack, who were sitting at a card table, devising a plan on how to snag Tai-San without Lex getting into the way. “You honestly think she’s going to want to be with you after you kidnap her?” I commented with a smirk, trying to cover up my fear of being in an unfamiliar place. Mega turned to look at me, “She won’t have a choice Blondie.” He growled. I only gave him a sweet smile and turned my attention to Jack, “And to think, I actually thought you were a decent guy.” I said with a click of my tongue and a dramatic sigh. Jack’s eyes didn’t meet mine for a while, and for a moment’s time, I thought he might just get up himself and set me free. But then he looked up, his expression hardening as he responded. “It doesn’t matter what you think, you’re with me now…you’ll never see that sorry excuse for a boyfriend again.” He spat. After the words left his mouth, I saw an instant regretful look cross his face and caught him sneak another glance at me before turning back to talk to Mega. Could it be that Jack wasn’t as sure about this plan as his pal? Could it be that Jack was having second thoughts? I sure hoped so!
Chapter 17: Part 1 Jack's POV (by kimberly) I decided to go to school the next day cause I just had to get out of that place. I thought what I wanted was to have Amber as my girlfriend but I couldn't stand to see her so scared. All I wanted was to be popular (insead of Jack the geek, Jack the shy one). It was now lunch time and all the kids were outside having fun and running around. I just sat down under a huge oak tree trying to figure out how to get Amber out of Mega's place without him knowing and without her getting the cops to arrest me. "What the heck have I gotten myself into." I thought. Just then a really beautiful girl I had never seen before came running up to me. She had long blonde hair that shined like gold in the sun, and she was wearing a jean mini skirt with a light purple tank top. I wonder who this is I thought Amber was the most beautiful gril in school but this girl even out shines her. "Have you seen this girl." she says handing me a flier with a pictore of Amber on it. I look at it real fast. "No sorry . Why?" I really wanted to know why this gorgious girl was looking for Amber. "She's my older sister and she has been missing for a week. No one can find her. If you see her please call the number at the bottom of the flier. " then she takes off running across the lawn to Bray. As I watch her run to that stupid jacka**, I think to myself "Now I really need to get Amber out of Mega's place, maybe if I let her go she'll forgive me and introduce me too her beautiful sister. Dame it why didn't I ask her for her name." I shake my head and decided to go see how Amber is doing. Part 2: Bray's POV I saw Ellie run up to me and I was wondering if she had found anyone that knew where her sister was. "Ellie has anyone told you anything about Amber , and what might have happened to her." I say hoping That she had good news for me.Ellie shakes her head no. "Dame it Ellie we have to find her, she just can't have dissappered without a trace!" I yell not meaning to tack my anger out on her. "Don't you think I know that Bray , I care about her too you know!" Ellie screams at me then falls down on the grass and starts to cry. "I'm sorry Ellie, I didn't mean to be like that , I'm just really worried about her. I feel so helpless right now. She has been missing for four days now And no one seems to be able to figure out why. I'm going out of my mind." I say as I try to comfort her not knowing how. Part 3: Lex's POV Later that day.... Since Amber has been missing all I can think about is thank god it's not Tai-San! I completely understand what Bray is feeling. The girl he loves is missing and no one knows where to start looking for her. The stupid jack*** cops actually think that she ran away from home so they aren't really trying to find her. Those stupid ignorant pigs! Come on I mean what the f**k did she have to run away from. If I was them I would be looking for a kidnapper, it's so f**king obvious! Part 4: Mega's POV "Where the h*ll is that A******!" I yelled not really talking to anyone. Jack the dumba** should have been back an hour ago. The little blonde rich b**ch in the corner of the room looked up at me.She was wearing a outfit I know must have cost her rich daddy alot. God she thinks that she is so much better than me just because her parents and her boyfriends parents are all rich stuckup a*******! God how I hate them, all their fancy colthes and cars and cell phones! And me just the poor boy from the wrong side of the tracks. How I hate them all! But I'll show them all!" I thought as I looked at the scared little b**ch. "You mean Jack." Amber (I think that's her name) said looking at me with a look of disgust on her face. At that look I ran over to her and slaped her across the face hard. Now she really looked scared. Good I thought she should be! "Ofcourse Jack, you stupid dumb c**t! Who the h*ll do you think I would be talking about. And if I wanted you to talk b**ch I'd ask you too so keep your f**king mouth closed, If you know what's good for you b**ch! As I walked away from her. All I know is that wherever Jack had gone he better be getting me Tai-San! `Cuase if he wasn't I was gonna kick his f**king a**!
Part 18-
"Hey Mega" Jack said as he walked in. "Where were YOU!" Mega yelled at him. "I was out" jack replied. "Did you get Taisan?" Jack thought for a while. If mega thought Taisan was outside, he could get Amber out. "Well?" Mega said impatiently. "Yea, she's out there" Jack replied. "Great!! I'll bring her in!: mega said as he practicallly ran outside. '' Jack! YOu really are evil" Amber yelled at him. "Listen, she's not out there" Jack said as he untied her. "Now go!" Jack yelled. "Maybe you arent so bad" amber said as she stood up. "Thanks Jack" she said as she ran out of the building. Jack then ran outside to where Mega was. "So jack, where is she?" he asked. "she was right there!" jack said pointing at the ropes thathe had accidently left there. "Well it looks like she got away!" Mega yelled. "I'm sorry!" jack yelled as he walked away from mega. mega went back inside to Amber. "Amber!" he said as he walked inside. "Where is she!!!!!" mega yelled as he picked up the rope. Now that she was gone he'd go to jail. Mega took the rope and stared at it.

Ebony waited in the doctors office. Lately she had been really sick and was getting really weak. Finally after about 30 mintues the doctor walked in. "Well Ebony we have found out what is wrong with you" "And what is it?" she asked as she coughed. "well ebony, you have cancer" Ebony's eyes shot open. Cancer? He was joking, he had to be. It was just impossible. "Your kidding right?" she replied with a fake laugh. "Well, we're pretty sure. there's a 40% chance that you DONT have it and a 60% chance you do." "Well when will you know for sure?" "we dont know, but for now rest. you need to rest and when you feel sick come back here." "okay" she said as she grabbed her coat and left.

"no" ebony said calmly, "listen i gtg" "okay, bye ebs" taisan said. "bye"
Chapter 19: Part 1 Ambers POV (by kimberly) ************************************************** ** Two months later........
It was great being home and back with everyone. Bray has been really greta never letting me out of his sight til he gets me home.Ellie was even being nice to me we really never got along before now. So this new closeness was great. And Jack had been a real live saver. I never told anyone the part he had in my kidnapping so the only one that was in trouble was Mega but even the cops couldn't find him.
"So Am. want to go out to Spin after school?" Ellie said. Jack was sitting next to her. They had been dating for a bout a month now and seemed to be really great together.
"Sure sis.. The usaul crowd today." I said looking at all our friends Lex and Tai-San, Bray and Jack and Jay.
"Sure." everyone said but Jay. We all knew why we just didn't want to talk about it. Ebony was in the Hospital going thru another round of Kimo therapy for her Cancer. She really had been having a hard time and Jay spent all of his free time at the hospital with her.
"Oh Jay, I'm so sorry. How is Ebony doing?"
"She has her good days and bad but they think that after the round of Kimo she has today that the Cancer will go into remission and she will be fine. At least that's what the Doctors say. I gootta go, talk to you all later." he said then got up and ran out.
"Well dame it. I really need to watch what I say around him." I said looking at the others. It had got really quite at the table everyone was now thinking about how sick Ebony was and really missing her.
"I guess todays not a good day for Spin uh?" Ellie said.
"Yeah maybe we should go visit Ebz. Today ." Bray said getting up.
"Yeah we should." everyone said at once.
Part 2: Jay's POV ************************************************** *
I just couldn't stayu with the others, I had to get away. All I had been thinking about was that the love of my life was sick and there was nothing I could do to take the pain way for her. I walked for about 20 minutes and ended up outside Ebony's hospital room.
I knocked to see if anyone was there.
"Come in." I heard Ebony call.
"Hi Ebz, How you feel today?" I asked wishing that she didn't have to go thru this.
"Like s**t, but better now that you are here love."
We just sat holding eachother for hours and not talking. We both didn't want to think about what could happen if the chemo didn't work.

I had been hiding out for almost two months and getting really f**king sick of it.
I had found myself a new place to hide and just about had it ready to put my plan in motion. Tai-San would be mine by tomorrow night. And then all those snuck up as**oles would get what was coming to them. Exspecially that trader Jack.
Chapter 20: Part 1 Ebony's POV ************************************************** ************************************************** ****
I love having Jay by me It is so great I just wish that he didn't have to go thru this with me he really deseveres to be happy.The kimo seems to be working but the doctors want to try sergery they say that they have to try to remove the cance from my lungs by cutting a small piece of them out. I'm so scared. I hate this hospital room where I have been now for two weeks I want to go back to school and hang out with my friends...I don't want to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The door to the room I'm in opens and in walks Nurse Tracy. Jay had left about Half an hour ago.
"Well Ebony how do you feel tonight." She says with a stupid small on her small face. Sure she can smile she is not worring about weather she will live or die so why should she not smile. Ebony thought bitterly.
"Fine, I guess just sick of being here is all." I say.
She laughs at that then says "Well the doctor has seduled your surgery for Friday Moring at 10am. So hopefully you will be able to go hame by Sunday." "Well lets check your vitals and you can take your pills then get some sleep ok."
"Ok" I say thinking that I really want the next two days to go by fast so that I can go home soon. Nurse Tracy checks my pluse and takes my temp, Then smiles and hands me two little blue pills. Oh how I hate to take them.I just want out of here!!!!!Grrr...Anyway I take them and she leaves to go and do whatever Nurses do. I call Jay from the phone in the room next to my bed.
The phone rings about three times and then someone answers.
"Hello." I hear Ved's voice say.
"Hey Ved is Jay home?"
"Um...Let me see.....Jayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!ARE YOU HOME .........PHNE FOR YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!I hear Ved yell out then a few muffled voices and Jay gets on.
"Jay hi."
"Ebony is something wrong love , Are you ok?!" Jay says.I can hear the stress in his voice.
"No love nothing is wrong I just wanted to tell you that they are going to do the opperation on me Friday and that if all goes well I can go home on Sunday!" "Isn't that great."
"Ebony that is great." I hear the relief in his voice.
"Jay I'm scared what if something happens and I don't make it out of surgery. I don't want to die Jay, I don't want to leave you. I love you ."
"Ebony I love you too and nothing is going to happen I won't let it . You will be fine I swear it. I couldn't live without you love so see you have to live." Jay said trying to cheer me up. And he did. I felt much better, `cause I knew that I would live because I had Jay and he was really all that I would ever need.
"Ofcourse silly me. Jay Will you be here for me while I have surgery, I really need you."
"Ofcourse Ebz, I will, I wouldn't be able to think of anything but you If I went to school so just tell me what time to be there."
"Well the surgery is going to be at 10am so be here at 8:30 so we can be together for awhile before they take me."
"Ok, I will now try to get some sleep love it's almost 11pm. I wiil be there tomorrow after school so I'll see you then. Goodnight Ebz and I love you." Then he made a little kissing sound.
"I love you to Jay goodnight." I made the kissing sound back and hung up.
As soon as I did I feel fast asleep.

The last two months had been great. After helped Amber excape from Mega's place he had found Happiness . Amber was so thankful that she was free that she had introduced me to her sister Ellie. Oh Ellie what a beautiful name for such a beautiful girl. ~~~~~~~~~~FLASH BACK~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The bell had just rang for launch , and I was heading to my usual spot by a huge oak tree when someone grabed my arm.
"Hey, Why the h**l did you do that ."I said not even looking up.
"Well Jack I just wanted to thankyou again for saving my life." I heard Amber say as I slowly looked up. Only Amber wasn't alone. The beutiful girl that I had been watching for the past week was standing next to her. I just stood there and staired at the two of them not knowing what to say.
"He is the one that got you out of there." Ellie said looking at me with her beautiful blue eyes that looked like a perfect summers sky. "Thankyou Jack, Thankyou for saving my sister!" Then she took me totally by surprise and kissed me on the check. I felt my whole face get red and I continued to look at her. Finally I found my voice again.
"You're welcome. I just did what anyone else would do." I said feeling really low.I was the one that put her there in the first place.I didn't deserve Ellie's thanks or her wonderful kiss.
"Jack you are to modest ."Ellie said laughing. God she has a great laugh.
"Jack she's right you really did save me, I mean you could have left me there but you didn't. For that I really am happy." Amber said and I could tell she meant it. I started to fell a little better then and for the first time in weeks I felt good.
"You're welcome Amber and I really am sorry about everything. I gotta go so talk to you both soon I hope."I said as I turned to leave. As I started to walk off Ellie ran up to me and said.
"She doesn't blame you, you know. And neither do I. I would really like to be your friend If you would like to be mine, just think about it ok." Then she kissed me again and ran back to her sister. Yes I would very much like to be your friend Ellie. I would love to be something more than your friend.I thought as she left.

After that they did become friends and much more. I love her and she loves me and all because I had at first wanted her sister...Life has a funny way of turning around on you ..I thought as I headed to Ellie's house to take her to the movies. Smiling to myself.
