HISTORY: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are two investigators of the X-Files Division of the FBI, a unit of the agency founded by agent Arthur Dales in the 1950s to cover particularly unsolvable cases in the FBI files. At one time, all unsolved cases were filed under “U” in the bureau files, but when the cases started filling their “X” files, the name stuck and the office was formed to cover those hard to explain cases. In the 1990s, Agent Fox Mulder began cleaning and sorting through those files even as new X-Cases began coming in and he was sent Agent Dana Scully, an incredibly attractive member of the bureau, to assist him. In the beginning, Scully was meant to evaluate his work and discredit his methodology, but instead, she began to realize that his incredible and far-fetched explanations eventually had a certain logic and pattern to them. Their responsibility is the investigation of further alleged paranormal events, particularly UFO cases, of which Mulder is a firm believer, a quirk that irritates Scully who consistently makes efforts to remain logical and sensible. Nevertheless, Scully hesitantly has had in the past been forced to realize that there are a small percentage of cases without logical explanations.

Mulder’s passion was founded by an incident from his childhood where he believed his young sister was abducted his younger sister, Samantha, in an incident his father might have condoned and had a part in. Further driven by the tabloid newspaper stories of the supernatural by Carl Kolchak, Mulder has been connected to other tabloid-driven individuals such as the Lone Gunmen who publish the underground “Lone Gunman” newspaper as well as ghost hunter, William Collins, an old friend from his confused childhood. Although he refuses to admit it, Mulder seems to harbor an unspoken infatuation for Scully.

During his brief absence for a while, Mulder was replaced by one John Doggett from the department who investigated several cases with Scully until his return. They were both assisted by other agents such as Monica Reyes, Arthur Krychek, Jeffrey Spender and Diana Fowley on a few cases. All the agents are supervised by their associate, Walter Skinner, who oversees much of their investigations and once in a while participates in cases of “unique” consequences.

Abilities: Both Mulder and Scully are trained and exemplary agents of the FBI trained in detective skills and marksmanship with a variety of weapons. Mulder is a graduate of Oxford University and Naval Quantico Academy. He is also a published writer (“On Serial Killers and the Occult”). Dana Scully is also a medical doctor with a degree in forensic pathology.
