Everyone needs a little inspiration from time to time, and I've got more ideas than I know what to do with! Thus, the creation of this page. These are a collection of challenges that were issued by me on Fanatics. Some of them are already taken and some are still up for grabs! Challenge #2
I know there are TONS of post-graduation fics floating around out there, but I'd like to see one where the whole gang is just on the run. Motel hopping, living out of suitcases, driving different cars, using their powers to help them out every chance they get.For example, they use their powers to change dollar bills into hundred dollar bills. They use their powers to change their IDs and the one credit card they have. They change the number, they change the name.
Max and Liz are married. They've all graduated from high school. Isabel is still married to Jesse but falling deeper in love with Kyle as they pretend to be newly weds for the sake of appearance. Alex can somehow be alive, and a mysterious figure who keeps hovering around them and watching them. He keeps track of them and maybe keeps them safe?
Seven years later, Jesse decides to track down his wife only to find that she's living in a really small town in Oregon where everyone knows everyone. She calls herself Amanda Phelps and lives with her husband James Phelps (who is really Kyle), and their two daughters.
He finds out that Max and Liz live an hour away to Isabel's left and Michael and Maria live an hour away to her right.
After that you can have whatever you want happen. Isabel can't exactly sign divorce papers for Jesse, so they'll always be married even if she's married to someone else in her heart. Alex can show up from the shadows, either involved with Ava or in love with Serena so that he won't want to break up the Isabel/Kyle relationship. Maybe Alex could have a kid or something?
Max's son can try to track him down. A big fight or war can happen, maybe Max and Liz decide to have kids or they don't. It's all up to you. Any rating is cool.

Challenge #3 - Coming to Earth
Zan is supposed to marry Ava in 40 days, his father arranged the marriage at her birth, but Zan has decided that he would rather pick his bride himself. He doesn't want a subservient wife, he'd rather have someone who speaks her mind and challenges him. Ava would bark like a dog on command if he asked her to, she's nothing more to him than a doormat that he can step all over, and he hates it.So he convinces his father to let him go to Earth, in order to "sew his royal oats" however, what his father doesn't know is that he's going there to find himself a bride. He takes the son of his father's second in command, Rath, who is also Zan's best friend, with him. Once on Earth, they adopt human names. Zan takes the name of Max Evans and Rath becomes Michael Guerin. They spend a couple days getting used to the planet before they end up in Roswell, NM living in a run down cheap apartment.
They take simple jobs. Michael working at the Crashdown Cafe; Max working at the UFO Center. Michael is spiteful about the whole trip, he doesn't see anything wrong with Zan's arranged marriage or with Ava. He thinks Ava is doable. Anyway, Max meets Liz and falls in love, but her boyfriend Kyle is close to asking her to be his wife! Eventually, both Vilandra and Ava come to Earth. vilandra to try and talk some sense into her brother and Ava to learn how to better please Zan. He gives them human names, Isabel Evans and Tess Harding.
Eventually Max's father comes to Earth and there's this whole family argument. It's up to you how it ends and what happens in between what I've told you in the challenge. Any rating is cool.

Challenge #4 - 50's Challenge
I was watching The Iron Giant and I discovered that I would really like to read a Roswell fic that was set in the 50's. Like all of them as teenagers, living in Roswell in the early to mid 50's.The aliens could still be aliens of course, but instead of incubating until 1983 say they come out looking like six year olds in 1946 (that's just an example), when Liz and the humans are all six.
Then later on in life, Liz could get shot or Max's alien status could be revealed in some other way. I think it'd be cute/cool/kinda funny to read. Maria could be the first girl in Roswell whose parents got a divorce, her mom could have a "reputation" and there could be rumors about the pairing of her mother and the town sheriff who's wife left him for another man. Liz could be the sweet all American girl next door type who works in her father's cafe. Isabel could be the secductrace, but not exactly a whore. Just a girl who looks like she could be one. Tess could have those glasses they used to wear back in the 50's.

Challenge #5 - Never Been Kissed with a
Twist!
Liz Parker is a reporter who gets her first undercover assignment. Her
boss, Michael Guerin, informs her that because she looks so young, she
will be going into a near by high school to pose as a student. She
must figure out what story is there and what to write about on her own.
She's just told to get in ther and find out what kids today are
like.
She tries to become popular, but soon realizes it is so much harder
than she had ever expected it to be. when she was in high school, she
wasn't exactly popular. She wasn't a total geek either. It was more
like she was invisible.
When she arrives, she meets up with Max Evans, the hot young science
teacher that all the girls drool over. Especially one in particular.
The evil bitch, Tess Harding (who could either be a popular student or
a teacher) goes out of her way to make Liz miserable when she notices
the chemistry that exists between the student and teacher. Anyway, Liz
only becomes popular when her half-brother (Alex or Kyle) poses as a
student also, because he was "cool" in high school and gets people to
like her.
Somehow, she finds out about Max's alien status and she must deside to
expose him or keep his secret.
This is based on the movie Never Been Kissed but please don't make it
exactly the same as the movie. Spice it up, make it different in some
way. Any rating is cool and I don't care if Max is the only alien in
the story or if Tess, Michael, and Isabel are aliens too. Anything
else is up to the challenge taker.

Challenge #6 - Groupie/Dreamer Challenge
A long, long time ago on the old board, I posted a challenge and someone took it. She wrote a few parts to it, but then she stopped. So I'm issuing this challenge again. It is most definitely AU with no aliens. The sky is the limit as far as ratings go.Alex Whitman is a popular dude. He hangs out with all the popular people (Michael, Max, Isabel-not his gf, Tess, and Kyle). But for weeks he's secretly been seeing Maria Deluca, a girl in their school who isn't particularly cool. Infact, everyone kind of sees her as this big dork. He wants to keep it quiet because Michael, the self-imposed leader of the pack, says that somebodies don't mix with nobodies. He believes (and as a result so does everyone else) that popular people should stick to their own kind.
Eventually, Maria gets sick of hiding their relationship, and begs Alex to take her to a party. He's reluctant, but finally agrees. It's there that Michael sees them and tells Alex to break up with her or Michael would do it for him and it wouldn't be pretty. Alex does as he's told.
There is some pain and suffering on both sides. Someone spray paints the word "loser" on Maria's locker and Alex hates having to see her that way. He hates having to see her eat lunch alone when her friend Liz isn't around.
At a party, he gets drunk and gets into a verbal fight with Michael. When it's just about to turn physical, Max steps in and offers to take Alex home. But Alex doesn't want anything to do with "the puppet masters lap dog" (he must say that). He calls them all a bunch of sheep and then picks some random girl to drive him home.
He directs the girl to Maria's house, where she sees them when she is looking out the window or taking out the garbage. She gets pissed. There is more pain and suffering and the random girl convinces Alex that he's stupid for letting Michael control him. The day of prom, Alex decides that random girl was right. He's already bought tickets to prom, so he goes out and purchases a dress for Maria to wear and jewelry and shoes and what not. He shows up at her house and they argue and finally she agrees to go to prom. Once there they have a run in with Michael where Alex proceeds to tell him that Maria isn't a nobody, she's a somebody to him and he tells Michael to fuck off. From that point on, it's up to you.

Challenge #7 - Ned and Stacey
Max Evans is a career oriented kind of guy (you choose the profession in which he's in). All he thinks about is getting to the top, and he'll do anything and everything he can to get there. Some say he's ruthless and cunning, others just say he's good at what he does.But unbeknownst to Max, his career obsessed ways are actually hurting his chances of getting to where he wants to go. His boss (Valenti, Mr. Parker, his dad, or someone completely made up) is looking for a family man to take over the business/company/whatever when he retires. Someone with a wife and kids, or plans for kids sometime in the future.
When his brother-in-law who is one of his best friends, Alex (who also works at the same place), tells him of this startling news Max thinks he's screwed. That is until a few days later, when he comes up with a plan. They want a family man? He'll give them a family man.
Enter Liz Parker. She desperately needs a place to live, not that she's poor or anything. She just has to get away from her crazy roommate (let's say she talks to the walls like they're real people, I don't know, make something up if you want). Anyhoo, she desperately needs a place to live. And one night at a party that her friend, Alex, is throwing at his house, she meets Max.
They get to talking and he subtly drops hints that he's got an extra room in his rather large apartment. The next day she goes over there to look at the room, and falls in love with the place. And the room is hers. That is, if she agrees to marry Max. She's convinced he's crazy but does it anyway. She'd rather live with him in a fake marriage than live with someone who talks to walls.
- Please no first person pov
- NC-17 at some point wouldn't be frowned upon.
- Give them some ground rules (i.e. He doesn't expect anything from her sexually. They can date other people so long as they're discreet about it, blah blah blah.)
- They have to kind of hate or dislike each other at first, but eventually fall in love with one another.
- Aliens or not, I don't care. You can throw in the rest of the gang where ever you see fit.
- Please make it humorous. I like to laugh.

Challenge #8 - Roswell/General Hospital X-over!
Maria Deluca's father left her when she was very young. For years it hurt her like nothing else ever could to know that her father left her mother and herself without ever looking back. Although she's tried to hide it or forget about it in recent years, it's been hurting her relationships with not only her friends but with her significant other as well.With the help of her best friend (or her boyfriend), Maria goes on a search for her father that leads her to Port Charles. Where she meets up with a man by the name of Roy Deluca. Her father!
OR you could flip the script. Roy Deluca could be sitting around in Port Charles and feeling guilty for leaving his little girl behind. He could come back looking for her, lurking around Roswell watching her and making everyone think that Maria is being stalked, or someone is on to their secret if you decide to have aliens in the fic. Amy and Jim could be together, making Valenti feel like Roy is back in town to get his family back. Which brings out the old S1 I'll-get-you-if-you-breathe-wrong Valenti.
- Requirements:
- No first person POVs
- CC or UC, up to you. For example, instead of having her with Michael you could have her with oh I don't know, let's say Alex! I would love that.

Challenge #9 - Big AU Challenge

Before the pod squad "hatched" from their pods, in 1983 Diane and Nancy
were both pregnant. However at the hospital, their babies accidently
got switched, placing Liz with Diane and Diane's baby, who dies before
making it out of the hospital, with Nancy. So the Evans family took Liz
home and the Parkers went home empty handed and grieving for their
loss. Flash forward to 1989, the night that Max and Isabel were discovered by Diane and Phillip. Only now, Liz is in the car with them as they're returning from a relative's house. It's late at night and Liz is dozing off, but as she drowsily looks out the window, she notices something and yells for her parents to stop the car. They do, as her every wish is their command, and they find a naked six year old girl walking down the side of the road. She's all by herself, so they take her and eventually end up adopting her, naming her Isabel.
Max and Michael stayed in the cave to wait for the other little girl to come out of her pod but she never did as her pod was the leaky pod. Max and Michael leave her there when they tire of waiting for her, they go outside and its day light, they're scared. They walk through the desert until night fall when they somehow get separated. Michael goes off in one direction while Max goes off into the other. Max is spotted by the Parkers who are out stargazing and they take him home and eventually end up adopting him. He ends up working in Jeff's café as like a waiter or a cook or something and Alex and Maria are his two best friends, they know nothing of his hybird status, nobody does.
Michael suffers the same fate as he did on the show. He eventually manages to locate Isabel, but feels like there's a piece of him missing. He desperately searches for the other boy. Liz knows their secret and helps him with his search as much as she can, but gets frustrated with him because he's always getting himself into some kind of trouble. (He sleeps on her floor sometimes, her parents don't seem to mind). Michael insists that Isabel and Liz can't tell their parents about the secret that he and Isabel share, and so they don't.
Liz could be dating Kyle like in the Pilot, and Max could still fall in love with her at first sight I don't really care. There's no threat of Tess seeing as how she died in her pod. Um, let me see here, there really aren't any other requirements except for this one: Maria MUST at least one time refer to a hug from both Max and Alex at the same time, as a "manwich".
It's up to you if they find out about the Parker/Evans mix up at the hospital, and it's up to you how that whole thing plays out if they do. Any rating is cool with me. [wink] Feel free to change some things here and there if you'd like. Please no POVs.

Challenge #10 - Elizabeth and the
King

I can't believe that this hasn't been done before. Anna and the King or
The King and I. Only with Max and Liz! It's been a while since I saw the movie but I can remember the basic overall plot.
Anyway, Liz is a teacher from Earth who goes to Antar to teach the motherless children of an eccentric King. They hate each other at first but end up falling in love with each other and blah blah blah.
Should be slightly different from the movie, can be any rating. All our favorite and not so favorite characters can be in it if you like. CC or UC I don't care as long as Max and Liz are together.

Challenge #11 - Empire Records
I was watching Empire Records tonight and I thought it would be cool it was made into a Roswell fic. I can't offer up much of a plot, that has to come from whoever takes the challenge, it just can't be exactly the same as the movie word for word.Corey - Liz (Ms. Perfect)

Isabel can be whoever. I don't really care. It doesn't have to be completely CC, but I would really like for Max and Liz to be together.
So anyway, they all work in a record store together and the aliens can be aliens if you want them to, but they don't have to be. It doesn't matter. It can be any rating.

Challenge #12 - Who Done It?
This is just kind of what I'd like to see, personally. I would love to read one of those classic, who-done it, murder mysteries using all of our favorite and not so favorite characters from Roswell. You know, something like the movie Clue with Tim Curry, only nobody actually dies. (Except the readers, and some of the characters aren't supposed to know that nobody really dies.)I tried to write something like what I'm thinkin of but I can't figure out how to start it or anything, so I was hoping that someone else would know what I'm talking about and it would spark some sort of idea in your heads.
It could be CC or UC, or not coupley at all. The pod-squad are still aliens. M&M could be broken up or together. Alex can be there alive and well. Jesse could be there if you really wanted him to be. Isabel can be with either one of them, or maybe even Kyle if you want. The “victim” has to be someone from our gang, as well as the “murderer” but he or she has to have a good motive for the “murder” that they’ve committed. I’d like it to be suspenseful, and have a lot of twists and turns to the plot. And of course all of this has to go down in a creepy old mansion, either abandoned or not.

Challenge #13 - Now and Then

I was just thinking it would be cool to read a Now and Then type fic.
Like the movie with Melanie Griffith and Demi Moore, Colin's step mom
also plays in it. Anyway, I was thinking soemthing like Tess could be Teeny, the little blonde who stuffs her bra, is ignored by her parents and dreams of being an actress.
Then I was thinking that Isabel could be Chrissy. You know, all sheltered and what not. Thinking sex is about a hose and garden. Being a fat kid and then growing up to marry the dork that likes her (Alex).
Maria could be Roberta. Taping her boobs, acting all tomb-boyish, being raised by her mom with her 4 older brothers, because her dad died in this horrible car accident or something. Fighting with Michael and his brothers Max, Kyle and Sean (The Wormers).
Liz could be the smart one. Demi Moore's character, I don't know her name in the movie but for some reason I want to say Gabby.
They'd all be like 14 or 15 or something, living in the same neighborhood and getting into trouble. I don't really care what the rating is, or if there are like, "couples" and stuff.
Its kind of a stupid challenge, but I just thought it would be cool to see.

I had this dream where the whole Roswell gang went on a singles cruise. The guys know each other, but they don't know the girls and the girls know each other but they've never met the guys. They weren't players or anything like that, and same goes for the girls.So anyway all I really care about is Max and Liz getting together but if you want you can do the other couples UC or CC, it's up to you. I'd kind of like it to be nc-17 which is one of the reasons I'm giving this challenge.

Max is about to marry a beautiful blond named Anna(in no way shape or
form supposed to be Tess). She's all spunky, fun and beautiful. But
then she dies and he's heartbroken.Anna watches him from Heaven and decides that he needs to get over her and find someone else. So she straps on her angel wings floats down to Earth and takes possession of a brown haired, brown eyed beauty named Liz.
How Anna dies is up to you, what happens when Liz meets Max and all that good junk is up to you. Whether or not the rest of the gang is in the fic, up to you. Whether or not Anna leaves Liz's body shortly after Liz and Max meet, its up to you. Although I would like to see funny stuff. I don't really want to read something that's gonna be all serious. Laughs are good, it should be a funny little romantic comedy.

Challenge # 16
All his life Max Evans thought he had been blessed with the perfect life. A twin sister he rarely ever fights with, great friends, a beautiful girlfriend, a job that he enjoys and borne to such caring and loving parents. He had it all, and his life was great. Until his father has a heart attack that the doctors say he probably won't recover from.Everyone is grief-stricken when Philip passes. His mother can't seem to get herself out of bed and her children now have the responsibility of taking care of her, not that they mind. Max, who had taken the bar exam in college but decided to do something else with his life, inherits his father's law firm and suddenly finds himself thrust into a world of suits and ties.
It's there, in that world, that he finds out something that shatters the illusion of his perfect life when he stumbles across legal documents detailing his very own adoption. He and his sister struggle with the fact that they were adopted and led to believe that Diane and Philip Evans were their real parents. They're still grieving for the loss of their father, but are confused by it as well. They are saddened to know that their real parents abandoned them at the tender age of three and shocked when Diane tells them that their parents dropped them off in the desert and left them there as if they were troublesome puppies that the owner just couldn't deal with anymore.
On top of all of this, his long time girlfriend Liz, who he has been dating since they were 16, tells him that she's pregnant. So he's grieving for the loss of whom he now knows is his adoptive father, grieving for the loss of parents that he's never met and never knew he had, angered by what they did to him and his sister (the real parents not Diane and Phil), angered that this secret was kept from him, shocked that his live-in girlfriend is pregnant and overwhelmed by his sudden change in career. It's safe to say that Max Evans is about to have a mental and emotional melt down.
With the help of his pregnant girlfriend (or his sister) can he find the parents that abandoned him? Will he realize that the ones who adopted him are the same people that they've always been and still his parents despite what DNA says?
Requirements:

- Any rating is fine
- You can add the other couples if you'd like, I don't care. You can even mix it up and throw in some UC if you want. Like, having Isabel with Kyle if you wanted. It's all gravy.

Challenge #17

This is just an idea. I've been trying to develope it so it would have
some sort of plot, but I'm grasping straws. So, here it goes:Liz is a Native American and Max is a colonist. To toss out some ideas to hopefully inspire something in someone, Max could be captured when he's just a small boy, and instead of being killed he's raised as one of thei own, only he's white. Or it could be reversed and Liz is the colonist while Max is the Native American.
Either way, I just really like the concept of one, or both of them being Native Americans.

Challenge #18
Liz Parker is a girl with big dreams. She longs to move out of her sleepy New Mexico town and travel to New York City to become an artist. On the verge of graduating, it's no secret that Max Evans wants her in the worst way. All of their mutual friends know it, and she knows it too. But she doesn't feel for him the way that he feels for her.The guy she's been crushing on forever, artistic Sean Deluca, has just come home from his journey across the U.S.A. And she finally realizes her dream of losing her virginity to him. Although, it's not how she thought it would be, and she finds herself regretting the decision to lose it to him when he blows her off a few days afterward, as if nothing special had happened between them.
Skipping school for a week, she goes on a road trip with her troubled friend, Maria Deluca. Together, they make their way to Vegas, where they party hard with some pretty unsavory people before going home where they both belong. It's then that Liz finally realizes that everything she's ever wanted was right where she had never thought to look. She doesn't expect Max to just jump right into her arms, but she just feels like she has to tell him.
Max and Liz are friends. But they're NOT best friends. They're just in the same social circle.
The social circle consists of:
ALEX WHITMAN: The best male friend of Maria Deluca and Liz Parker.
MARIA DELUCA: Liz's best friend. She's had trouble at home ever since her father left her when she was little. She's always been somewhat of a rebel, and she doesn't get along well with her mother. Especially when her mother has dated some pretty unsavory guys. Guys who perhaps beat Amy and maybe even Maria too?
MICHAEL GUERIN: Max's best friend.
ISABEL EVANS: Max's sister.
KYLE VALENTI: Isabel's popular boyfriend.
TESS HARDING: The slut of the group. She sleeps around with guys that aren't in her group of friends. She has this hopeless crush on this one guy that's on the football team with Kyle, but he all he does is fuck her when she's drunk and then he lets his friends have their turn with her after he's done.
- No POVs please. Aliens if you want, but I think it'd work better without.
- If you'd like to throw Michael and Maria together after they come home from Vegas, go for it. If you'd like Alex to provide the stability in her life that she's never had, that would be cool with me. I'm a groupie you know.
- Anything else that you add is up to you, and you don't have to be descriptive with the Sean/Liz sex, but it does have to happen. Marrying the first man you lose your virginity too in this day and age is pretty unrealistic if you think about it. If you'd like to flesh out the other characters and their relationships and give them problems go for it...just please don't break up Kyle and Isabel and make her go for Alex.

Challenge #19 - Boy Meets Girl
I tried to develope this one a little before posting it, but nothing was working for me.Anyway, the challenge, Max and Tess share an apartment. They're roomies and NOTHING more, although Tess would like to change that fact.
If you were going to go the aliens route, Michael could have more forcibly stopped Max from healing Liz, and she could have been shot with a wound that she survived. Max never tells her, Tess comes to town and gets her man for at least a little while. They graduate and a few years later, Max and Tess are forced to move in with one another because Michael, Max's old roommate, is getting married to none other than Max's very own sister!
If you were going to go the no aliens route, Max and Tess could be best friends, and she wants him but he's a play boy who doesn't want her. Blah, blah, blah. He meets Liz. Tess doesn't like her. Blah, blah, blah. Whatever.
So yeah, that's the challenge. Either way you do it, I'd REALLY like for Michael and Isabel to be a couple either about to get married or who already are married. Maria and Alex could be together too, it wouldn't hurt. [wink] No POVs please.

- Must end M/L. I don't care if he still shares an apartment with Tess, I don't care if she moves out in order to let Liz move in. Anyway you slice it, Max and Liz MUST be together at the end.

Challenge #20
Max Evans is a fledgling chef who at the start is teaching cooking classes at the local mall. He lives with his two best friends, the tomboy-ish Liz Parker and the artistic Michael Guerin. Liz is constantly encouraging him to get out in the world and let people other than Michael, her and their shared friends experience his cooking. But Max is fine with the way that his life is going, and he's fine with the classes that he teaches.One day while at work, he gets discovered by someone from some major network; think Food Network. He's offered his own show (the title of which you can make up or use Cooking For Two), and at first he's extremely nervous and shy when on camera. Eventually, when he gets more comfortable being on camera, when he's off the camera he changes and becomes this egotistical asshole. Eventually he moves out and moves in with his new girlfriend/agent, Tess Harding. A real bitch of a woman, who only seems to be interested in Max for his looks and the money that he'll make for the both of them.
Michael Guerin: The total artist. A bit of a recluse and shy about his work. Nobody but his on-again off-again girlfriend Maria, his roommates and their shared friends can see his finished art work. (At some point after Max gets famous and changes, Michael should have an exhibit at some cool gallery that Max fails to show up for.)
Liz Parker: She's a total tomboy who for the longest time has been completely and totally in love with Max, who has been so busy with the students that he brings home from his cooking classes, that he hasn't seemed to notice her feelings.
Isabel Evans: Is in the wardrobe department of whichever network her brother's show is on, and is in charge of making him look good.
Maria Deluca: Has a stormy on/off relationship with Michael, but deep down really loves him.
That's all I got. If you want to throw in the other characters, go for it. Obviously in the end it MUST be Max and Liz!

Challenge #21 - A Roswellian take on the movie Hook
Max Evans is married (to Liz) with children. However, he's so into his career that he sometimes forgets about them and what's important to them. That is, until his son and daughter are abducted!It happens on a visit to his sister's house in New Mexico (where they all grew up, he's moved his family to another state - like New York or something), where she is happily married and has a kid or three of her own. His children, and only his children, are stolen from the very beds that they sleep in. The cops assume that because the window was found open, that the abductor came in that way and took them out that way. Their only clue is a note that is stuck on the inside of the closet door, with an odd looking knife pierced through the center of it. The note is signed by a man whose name rings a bell inside of Max's head, although he's unsure as to why.
Khivar.
Max must then travel to a place long forgotten (by Iz, Mike and himself) in order to save his children. He's told of Antar by Ava (or Tess), who comes to him in Roswell a day or two after hearing the news concerning his children. She tells him all about Antar and how he used to be a ruling King there.
Once there, he's introduced to a small group of his previous followers who have adopted the name, "Lost Boys" as they've been lost without their King to guide them. They don't accept Max straight off (and he doesn't accept them either seeing as how he has no memory of them), until one of them looks deep into his eyes and recognizes his King.
With the help of his "lost boys" and with Ava (or Tess) can he defeat Khivar and save his kids?
If you want Michael to come along for the ride to Antar, it's all good.
Isabel can, but doesn't have to be, married to Alex. Her other options are Michael, Kyle and Jesse (even though he's totally blah!).
Liz knows nothing of his alien status. His kids don't have powers yet, and he doesn't know if they ever will seeing as how nothing in the show pertains to this fic. Liz was never shot but Max somehow got together with her anyway. Nacedo never found them, the NM podsters know nothing about themselves or why they were sent to Earth.
Ava (or Tess) is in love with him because she remembers the love that they had in their past life, as if it were yesterday. If you use Ava, explain that she didn't have it with Zan because he wasn't the real King, he was just the Dupe. If you use Tess, explain that she's never felt anything as powerful as what she feels for Max. She, whoever you pick, helps him simply because she is loyal to her King. She doesn't try to steal him away, because she realizes that there's a new queen in town, but she helps him because she's still loyal to him and because loves him so much. Also, they should share at least one kiss when Max remembers his love for her in their previous life and he should break it off when he remembers that he loves Liz in this one. The kiss is why I think it would be best if you used Ava, but whatever floats your boat. He should feel horrible for doing it, and her whole demeanor and tone should tell him that she's sad and possibly on the verge of crying when she tells him to go and save his kids.
Isabel, Michael and Max all have the memories of their previous lives locked away inside their minds, and that's why he doesn't remember Antar or his "lost boys". But something happens that unlocks that part of his memory, and it all comes back to him.
