<Black Eagle> Hello and welcome, Olympic fans. It's your Eye in the Sky, Black Eagle. Today's event, the Martial Arts competition. I'll be covering it from high above while Fianna watches from inside the Lair. Fianna, are you in position?
<Fianna> I am, Black Eagle. I'm standing in the Lair's head and looking up through the sun roof. The contestants are above me now and it looks like we're about to start.
<Eagle> So who's the favorite for this match?
<Fianna> Hard to say, really. Panthro and Grune are favored to win, but I wouldn't underestimate Slithe. The reptile has a lot of bulk and it's going to be hard to push him off the Lair's Head. I'd also watch Turmagar. Those tusks of his might become a deadly weapon that the others just don't have.
<Eagle> That's right. Grune's missing a tooth.
<Fianna> Exactly. And then there's RedEye. He brings superior mass to the fight, though he has little maneuverability, and that brings us to our last contestant: Willa. She lacks mass, but she's quick and wirey. She poses a threat that I think very few here take seriously.
<Eagle> Well, we're about to find out. From my position, I can see Captain Cracker and QuickPick starting the match.
<Fianna> They're not wasting any time, are they? Grune already has Turmagar on the edge and those teeth are looking nasty.
<Eagle> Stop me if this is a stupid question, but isn't Grune dead? And if so, how is he attacking?
<Fianna> Um...right. Well, we'll have to take that up with Thundera Tiger. And...oh, that's gotta hurt.
<Eagle> That's quite a drop from the top of the Lair. Turmagar isn't moving.
<Fianna> He's about to be joined by RedEye. Panthro has that Lunatac scrambling for footing. RedEye just doesn't have the agility needed to stay upright. And then there's the battle between Slithe and Willa.
<Eagle> I just swooped in for a closer look, and I'm not going back. Slithe isn't pulling any punches. That tail of his will kill if it connects, but Willa's managing to stay out of range.
<Fianna> And look where she's leading him. Slithe is swinging so much that's he's losing track of where he is. Willa's taking him straight off the edge.
<Eagle> Now there's an interesting combination. Grune has teamed up with Panthro to drive RedEye off. It won't be long before--there he goes.
<Fianna> I didn't know Lunatacs bounced when they hit ground. I mean, with the exception of TugMug, I kind of assumed they'd splat rather than bounce.
<Eagle> Ooo, now there's a splat. Slithe just took a nose dive off the Lair. It's down to Willa, Grune, and Panthro.
<Fianna> Willa's trying the same moves she used on Slithe, but it's not going to work this time. Those two won't fall for it. She'll have to come up with something else.
<Eagle> Maybe not. Panthor seems to be falling for it.
<Fianna> Twenty bucks says he's faking it.
<Eagle> You're on.
<Fianna> Now watch Grune, too. He knows Panthro is a more formidable opponent, but he's trying to figure out what to do about Willa. If she can get Panthro to go over the edge for him, he gains the advantage. And--there we go. Willa feints to the left, Panthro doesn't follow, lashes out with his foot, and Will is sent screaming off the Lair's head. You owe me twenty dollars, my friend.
<Eagle> I'm a bird. We don't use money. How about twenty salmon?
<Fianna> What would I do with twenty salmon?
<Eagle> I don't know about you, but I like the aroma of fish. Ooo, and Grune just caught Panthro on the jaw. But Panthro managed to flip back up on the Lair. A fake, a dodge, a kick; these two are evenly matched.
<Fianna> At this point in the game, Grune must be careful that he doesn't get Panthro mad. When Panthro is mad and his anger is focused against a signel opponent, he's almost unstoppable.
<Eagle> I think Grune just has a way of getting on people's nerves. He said something, and I don't think it was pleasant, judging from Panthro's expression.
<Fianna> Definitely not pleasant. Panthro has just gone into a fury of kicks, punches, and jabs. Grune is actually backing up. He's getting closer to the edge. Panthro just has to keep his anger focused and then--
<Eagle> He bounced, too. Do all sabretooths bounce?
<Fianna> Don't know. And where are the officials?
<Eagle> I saw Captain Cracker just a minute ago. He was coming out of the Lair and I think he might have had the Sword of Omens with him, too. I haven't seen QuickPick, though.
<Fianna> Interesting. Because we have no one here to declare Panthro the winner. And until we do, he has to stay up there.
<Eagle> Hmm. That could be bad. Well, while we're waiting for the judges to return, let's go down to the base of Cat's Lair and talk to RD Rivero. RD?
<RD Rivero> Thanks, Black Eagle. I'm here with Grune who's recovering from a nasty fall, but he's agreed to talk with us a little bit. Grune, can you tell us what it feels like to finally be fighting Thundercats again?
<Grune> I actually regret it, RD. You see, I thought the Thundercats could be so much more than what they were becomming. But Jaga didn't see the vision that I saw. For that, he spread lies about me and I was banished. It pains me to fight my fellow Thunderians, but they have all been led astray by Jaga's lies and deceptions. I must fight them so that they will respect me, and then I can expose Jaga for the traitor he was.
<RD> Well stated. Now, perhaps you can explain something a few of us have been wondering about. You're dead. How are you competing?
<Grune> I am fighting on Mumm-Ra's team, though I disagree with the mummy's doctrines, and for the Olympics, he's given me substantive form. But I vow to never make a deal with Mumm-Ra again.
<RD> Spoken like a true hero. And what do you have to say about Panthro's victory.
<Grune> He fought well and he got a little lucky, but that's life. Jaga was lucky, too. Next time, it will be a test of skill. And then we will see who comes out on top.
<RD> Thank you, Grune. Anything else you'd like to add?
<Grune> Yeah. Where did those snarfs go? I'm hungry?
<Eagle> I get the feeling that interview was planned out ahead of time.
<Fianna> How astute of you.
