<Cheezey> Hello and welcome to nightlife in the Berbil village.

<Thundera Tiger> Kind of pitiful for nightlife, but whatever.  I'm more for stalking.

<Cheez> I guess it's a living.  Anyway, we're awaiting the signal for the laser tag game to begin.  Tiger, perhaps you'd like to give us an overview of the rules?

<Tiger> Absolutely. Every team has entered two competitors and each team has two bases.  The competitors start from one base and work their way through the village until they reach the second base.  When one competitor reaches the second base, they're done with the game.  The first team to accomplish that wins the gold.  As for what's allowed, there are shields to protect vital areas of the body and of course the standard hot laser.  It cauterizes when it hits, so bleeding should be down to a minimum and we don't expect any casualties.

<Cheez> Comforting.  I'll go over the teams.  The Thundercats have entered Panthro and Tygra.  These two have worked together for years as warriors and are the favorite.  The mutants have the Demolisher and Rataro.  Rataro is adept with the laser, but he'll have problems with his partner.  The Demolisher just wants to fight.  He almost refused to take the laser when they were being distributed.  The Lunatacs have RedEye and TugMug, both experienced mercenaries.  The humans have Willa and Nayda, who've also fought together.  It will be interesting to see how different teams use each other.  Mumm-Ra and Ma-Mutt represent Mumm-Ra's forces, though I don't expect to see much laser fire from Ma-Mutt.  Snow Man and Snow Meow have the same problem.  But they are teams who are used to working together.  This should be interesting.

<Tiger> And there's the siren!  The battle begins.

<Cheez> We have cameras positioned throughout the Berbil village, so we should be able to see what's going on as it happens.

<Tiger> Snow Man and Snow Meow are opting for the running approach.  Snow Man has his laser ready, but he seems content to let Snow Meow run the guantlet.  They're moving fast and almost to the center of the village, which is the halfway point for most of the bases.

<Cheez> And they go rolling.  Willa is working her way down one of the main roads leading to the center and caught Snow Meow's back leg with her laser.  That big cat isn't going anywhere in the near future.

<Tiger> Nayda is on a road running parallel to Willa's.  Now she's getting on top one of the houses.  She and Willa appear to be confering.

<Cheez> TugMug and RedEye are taking separate routes.  They work better apart rather than together, if memory serves.  It looks like they're trying that tactic here.

<Tiger> The Demolisher and Rataro haven't left base yet.  They're arguing about something.  Go figure.  Panthro and Tygra are sticking to the alleys and running a classic cop routine.  One darts ahead while the other provides cover fire.

<Cheez> And Panthro's cover fire almost took off Ma-Mutt's ear.  Mumm-Ra and Ma-Mutt are sticking together and are also in the alleys.  They're about to cross into Panthro and Tygra's territory.  Watch for a great fire fight!

<Tiger> Snow Man has Willa pinned under his laser fire.  She can't move.  She's caught between two houses.  Nayda's up on top, but she doesn't look like she can help.  She realizes that too.  She's going on without Willa.

<Cheez> I don't know if I agree with sticking to the rooftops.  Against the moonlight, she makes an easy target.

<Tiger> RedEye is nearing the center of the village, but he appears lost.  I think he's forgotten where his second base is.  TugMug is a little behind and on the other side of a major thoroughfare.  He's coming up behind Snow Man and the injured Snow Meow.  It will be interesting to see if he decides to skip the fight or try and take out Willa and Snow Man.

<Cheez> And there's that fire fight I was talking about.  Mumm-Ra is shooting madly at the two Thundercats who are shooting just as madly back.  Ooo, Tygra was grazed on the arm.  That smarts.

<Tiger> Panthro is giving Tygra a boost up onto a nearby house.  Looks like Tygra is going to try and get on the other side of Mumm-Ra.

<Cheez> Ma-Mutt is on to him.  The dog is watching that tiger like a hawk.

<Tiger> That tiger is practically omniscient.  He knows what Ma-Mutt's up to.

<Cheez> Right.  Whatever you say.  Ooo, looks like TugMug is going to join the fight between Willa and Snow Man.

<Tiger> Demolisher and Rataro have still not left their base.  Interesting.  And Ma-Mutt has made a lunge for Tygra's gun.  Tygra jumped into an alley behind Mumm-Ra and Ma-Mutt was waiting.

<Cheez> Did you notice that Tygra seemed surprised?

<Tiger> He was faking it.

<Cheez> Ah. How clever.

<Tiger> Shut up.

<Cheez> Well, it looks like the center of the village is the place to be.  We've got Snow Man, Snow Meow, Willa, TugMug, and now RedEye.

<Tiger> Ha!  There we go.  Ma-Mutt's whining like a puppy and Tygra is moving in on Mumm-Ra.  Great blast to Ma-Mutt's underside from Tygra's laser.

<Cheez> Mumm-Ra is turning to investigate his dog's sounds and just gave Panthro the perfect opportunity.  One downed mummy.  Now the two Thundercats are working their way to the center of the village.

<Tiger> I wonder where Nayda went.  Oh, there she is.  She's skirting the village center.  It's taking her some extra time, but it might just be worth it.

<Cheez> Hey Tiger?  Do you smell something?

<Tiger> Yeah, I do.  Smells like...

<Cheez> FIRE!

<Tiger> Not again!

<Cheez> It seems that one of the houses in the Berbil village has caught fire.  And the fire is spreading quickly.  I don't think the Berbil roofs meet fire safety standards.

<Tiger> I knew we should have used stun guns instead of lasers!

<Cheez> Well, that ends the shooting.  Everyone's trying to get out of the way of the fire.  It's a good thing that Mumm-Ra and Ma-Mutt are immortal.  I wonder if someone is going to get Snow Meow out, though.

<Tiger> Snow Man's carrying him.  And someone has reached a base!  It's Nayda.  The humans won?

<Cheez> Hurts, doesn't it.

<Tiger> That's it.  I'm hunting in their territory tomorrow.  And there's a second base.  Panthro and Tygra made it!

<Cheez> Now we just need someone else to get to a base.  Come on Lunatacs!

<Tiger> I don't think there's any other competition.  Rataro and the Demolisher are still arguing, Mumm-Ra's unconscious, Ma-Mutt's lame, and Snow Man is just trying to get out of the village.  He's not aiming for a base.

<Cheez> And TugMug is closing on the base.  He's almost there...wait a minute!

<Tiger> The Thunderkittens?  What are they doing here?

<Cheez> Take a look ahead of them.  See the funny cloak?

<Tiger> This is beginning to get old.  Wait a minute, here comes Lion-O!

<Cheez> He's chasing the kittens.  The kittens have confiscated some lasers and they're shooting!  They're chasing RD into the fire!

<Tiger> It's not just RD.  There are two figures.  Looks like Fianna is with him.

<Cheez> And TugMug just jumped in the way.  He goes down hard!  That is NOT fair.

<Tiger> Well, it gave RD and Fianna a chance to escape.  The kittens have lost track of where they've gone.

<Cheez> Yeah, but TugMug isn't getting up.

<Tiger> That's okay.  Here comes RedEye.  And he makes it to the base!

<Cheez> I guess third is okay.  Let's send it down to Lady Bast who's doing the interview.  Bast?

<Lady Bast> Thanks Cheezey.  And congratulations.  The Lunatacs just won a medal!

<Cheez> Thanks.  Who've you got down there?

<Bast> RoBear Bob.  And he's one irate Berbil.  So Bob, why are you upset?

<Bob> Have you seen my village?!

<Bast> Yeah, it's kind of a mess.  Do you happen to have fire insurance?

<Bob> Of course we have fire insurance.  We can't live in the same world as the mutants and not have fire insurance.  But that's not the point.  The point is, Thundera Tiger assured me that the village would be perfectly safe during this event.

<Bast> Hmm.  Tiger?  You want to respond.

<Tiger> No comment at this time.

<Bast> I see.  Well, Bob, looks like you're on your own.

<Bob> Lady Bast, we are usally a peacful people.  But from now on, tiger hunting is perfectly legal and encouraged.

<Bast> Well, be sure and tell Tygra and Bengali.  They might want to avoid the village.  Back to you, Cheez.

<Cheez> You're just not popular today, are you, Tiger?

<Tiger> Let those robotic misfits try and catch me.  This should prove amusing.

<Cheez> And yet another announcer leaves a match with a price on his or her head.  Well, as a wrap up, we have Willa and Nayda taking first, Panthro and Tygra taking second, and TugMug and RedEye taking third.  We'll now send you over to join Thundercub and Lady Thundera outside the Berbil village where the vehicle relay is getting ready.
