This is where I will describe the different races (not speed race, but the type of being they are, i.e. saiyan). I may also include a little history about the race.
Saiyans
 Saiyan: This race came from Planet Vegeta and were hired as planet stealers for Freiza. They are a very strong race and have long brown tails. They all have black hair which never grows unless they aren't pure Saiyans. The legendary form, of the Saiyan race is the super saiyan, when your hair turns gold and your power increases imensely. If they have their tail, they can turn into giant monkeys at the light of the full moon. In this form, their power increases 10 fold. Saiyans in DBZ: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Nappa, Radditz, Pan, Bra. Saiyans in DBZ Movies (excluding previously mentioned ones): Turles, King Vegeta, Kid Vegeta, Bardock, Brolli, Paragas.
Nameks
 Namek: This race originated from the Planet Namek. (surprise, surprise). They all have green skin and have their muscles on the outside of their body instead of the inside. They also have the power of regeneration, where they can regenerate themselves as long as their head is still intact. The Nameks have long antennae coming out of their heads and have long ears which can hear a far distance. Nameks in DBZ: Piccolo, Kami, Nail, Dende, Guru. Nameks in DBZ Movies: Dr. Slug.
Human
Human: The explanation of humans should go without "saiyan". (Bad joke, sorry but I had to). All of the people who live on earth excluding people who originally came from another planet, like Goku and Piccolo, are humans. Humans also tend to be less powerful than the other races, with a couple of exceptions. Humans in DBZ: Krillin, Bulma, Chi Chi, Ox King, Master Roshi, Yamcha, Videl, Hercule, Supopovich, Yamu, the remaining people of earth. Humans in DBZ Movies: Dr. Coachin, Dr. Wheelo, The Preist, many more that I can't remember at this moment.
Changling: A changling can sometimes change into more powerful forms and are a very powerful race in which only a few are known of. They can also survive in space. Changlings in DBZ: Freiza (or Freezer), King Kold. Changlings in DBZ Movies: Koola (or Cooler), Metal Koola (or Cooler).
Android: Androids are aritificial mechanical beings created by Dr. Gero. They don't feep pain, and can even have limbs blown off and still keep going. Some androids like #19, and #20 can absorb energy through their palms. Androids #17, #18 are only partially mechanical because they used to be humans. Cell is the only fully organic (non-mechanical) android. Androids in DBZ: #16, #17, #18, #19, #20(Dr. Gero), #21(Cell). Androids in DBZ Movies: #13, #14, #15, Super #15.
Kai: The Kais are beings which are among the highest rank in the universe. The lowest Kais are the North, South, East, and West Kai. Above them, is the Grand Kai. Above him still are the Supreme Kais. They all fought Buu, and only one survived, the one we know as Kaio-shin, or supreme kai, the purple guy with the mohawk. Each Kai has his or her own planet. The size of the planet is determined by their rank. Kais in DBZ: North Kai (King Kai), South Kai, East Kai, West Kai, Grand Kai, Supreme Kai, Kibito(If you count him as one). Kais in DBZ Movies: North Kai (King Kai).
Arlian: These insect-like creatures lived on a desolate planet. They can shoot beams from their mouths and are fairly strong. They have a ruthless king who likes to watch fights. Vegeta and Nappa made a stop on this planet before arriving on Earth. They wanted to have some fun, so they let themselves be taken hostage. Vegeta and Nappa destroyed the Arlian fighters and king. After this, the Arlian prisoners were overjoyed that the king was dead and thanked the saiyans. Vegeta then blew the planet to pieces. Arlians in DBZ: The King, Queen Lenlia, that prisoner guy, the big creature under the ground. Arlians in DBZ Movies: None.
Demon: Demons are being from Earths alternate dimension. They are mostly evil, and powerful. Dabura is the only one of these that we see, so we can't really judge exatly what they look like. Dabura apparently wasn't evil. He was just under Babidi's influence. Demons in DBZ: Dabura. Demons in DBZ Movies: None that I know of.
Genie: Genies are creatures that can ride magic carpets and use magic. They have jet black skin, and wear turbans. They are also very loyal. Mr. Popo is an example of a Genie. Genies in DBZ: Mr. Popo. Genies in DBZ Movies: Mr. Popo.
