Wedding Plans

It was another day in the life of Bulma briefs, I would say typical day but there’s no such thing in her life. She was busily working on a new invention for Capsule Corp. Vegeta was in the gravity room training non stop, and her parents had both gone out to a convention.

"Damn it! Why do these things have to be done for Monday…I should be relaxing on a weekend…" Bulma grumbled to herself. All of the other employees had gone home yesterday since today was Saturday. She had a doctor’s appointment to go to in an hour, so she left her lab and went to have a shower. As she walked into her room, she noticed that Vegeta had left his gloves on her bed from the night before. A small smile spread across her face. Who had known that she and Vegeta would get so close? She stood in the small shower and washed her turquoise hair and then let the water run over her body. When she entered her room she changed into a loose white dress that was just above her knees.

"I should tell Vegeta that I’m going out," she said to herself. She hit the button for the visual intercom when Vegeta answered she almost regretted it.

"What do you want, woman!" he growled at her. She had unknowingly interrupted his precious training.

"I’m going out…your lunch is in the fridge…"

"Fine," he said with less harshness to his tone. How she had fallen in love with that man…no not man, Saiyan, she still didn’t know. She quickly headed out side and pulled her convertible out of the garage. There were advantages to being the richest woman in the world. She sped along to her doctor’s office.

"You were right Miss Briefs…congratulations," her doctor said.

"Oh, yay…" Bulma said sarcastically.

"I’ll guess this wasn’t a planned pregnancy?" she asked her.

"No, not really. I’m just worried what the father will say," she said as she left. The doctor wondered as well since Bulma Briefs had a reputation for taking off with a group of warriors. Bulma walked in the front door and sat down at her kitchen table and rested her head on it.

"What am I going to do?" she asked herself.

"About what?" Vegeta asked. Bulma sat straight up and clutched her chest.

"Damn you Vegeta! Don’t do that!" she said as she noticed the slight smirk on his face. He had meant to scare her, Damn him.

"How did your appointment go?" he asked her as he sat across from her with a plateful of sandwiches.

"Oh…it went okay. But…" she started.

"But what?" he asked around a mouthful of food.

"Well…I’m pregnant, Vegeta," she said rather shyly.

"I knew you smelled different," he replied.

"Huh?"

"I can tell when a female is in heat or pregnant," he replied then smirked at her.

"Huh? You knew! You bastard! You did this to me!" she yelled at him, stood up and moved over to the sink. She was happy that she was going to have a baby, but she wasn’t going to act like it.

"Of course I knew…it’s a bit of a gift. Anyway I need you to fix the gravity room," he said then left the room. How was she going to tell her parents…and Yamcha. Yamcha…how did that get there, Yamcha was a deceitful bastard who deserved to feel the sting of her betrayal. Bulma walked into the gravity room behind Vegeta and promptly removed the panel and started to work with the various wires and buttons that were there trying to get the damn machine working. She didn’t notice Vegeta staring at her while she worked, usually he would leave and come back every ten minutes to see if she was finished. When Bulma went to crawl out from underneath the control unit she reached up with her arm to pull herself out and cut her arm on a piece of metal that was hanging loosely out of its place.

"Shit!" she cursed. The cut was deep and it hurt like hell. Vegeta had seen her but had not been able to warn her in time for her to avoid the sharp object. He helped her to sit up leaning her back against the control unit, then he removed the towel from around his neck and tied it around her arm to stop the bleeding.

"Thanks…" Bulma started to say. But Vegeta wasn’t done. He helped her to stand up, then in a single motion had her in his arms and was walking to the infirmary on the Capsule Corp. compound.

"Vegeta…I’m fine…really," she protested.

"Humph" typical Vegeta, (^-^).

"Hey Bulma! Bulma, where are you!" a voice called as they walked past the main house. Yamcha was coming over to see if Bulma could fix his hover car, and to see if she’d forgiven him, and possibly if she would go out with him again. He saw Vegeta carrying Bulma, who had her arm held tightly with a now blood red towel wrapped around it. He ran over to them, his blood boiling thinking that Vegeta had something to do with it.

"You okay Bulma?" he asked looking at Vegeta.

"I’ll be fine. If you could tell that to ‘him’ I want to be put down," she stated glaring at Vegeta.

"Here…I’ll take her," Yamcha offered. Bulma tensed, that was the last thing she wanted was to be carried by her ex and then have Vegeta and Yamcha argue about it.

"No…please don’t move me…I…" she fake fainted in Vegeta’s arms. Vegeta knew it but Yamcha didn’t.

"Excuse me…" Vegeta, said as he moved past Yamcha. Yamcha stared at Vegeta’s receding figure. He was about to follow him when he remembered he had a date with Julia, and he took off.

"He’s gone," Vegeta said.

"Oh, thank you, Vegeta," Bulma said as she opened her eyes. They were at the infirmary and the doctor that was there was edgy. He had dealt with Vegeta several times, when Bulma had brought him here half dead after the gravity room had blown up with him in side of it. Then he noticed it was his employer’s daughter that needed the help.

"Miss Bulma, what can I do for you?" he asked as Vegeta set her down on the medical room’s bed and left to wait for her outside.

"I cut my arm fixing the gravity chamber," she said as she held out her arm. The doctor removed the towel and inspected the cut. It would need stitches. He froze her arm, cleaned it, and stitched her up.

"I don’t know why you put up with him," the doctor said as she stood to leave.

"I do it because…well…I don’t know why, just because," she said as she left. Vegeta was waiting outside the door.

"I’ll go and finish fixing the gravity room and then I’ll be out of your way," she told him.

"No," he said.

"Huh? What does that mean?" she inquired.

"You don’t need to fix it right now," he replied.

"But what about your training?"

"It can wait, for now. You’re coming with me," he said as he scoped her up into his arms.

"But where?"

"You’ll see," he said as he smirked at her and took off across the sky. Bulma had never been flying like this before and had her eyes closed for the first few minutes of flight and had her arms wrapped tightly around his neck. She felt him laugh at this and she felt him stop in mid air and unwrap her arms from around his neck.

"Do not be afraid…I won’t drop you," he said. She was now flipped onto his back with her arms once again around his neck. He barely waited for her to settle her grip before he zoomed off again. This time Bulma kept her eyes open and watched the scenery pass by. Hills and forests were flashing before her in a blink of an eye. She felt him slow down and descended from the sky.

"Vegeta…where are we?" she asked him when her feet touched the ground and stepped away from him to look at her surroundings. Then she spotted something she wasn’t sure exactly what it was.

"Vegeta?" she questioned. Vegeta was just standing behind her with a smirk on his face he gently took her hand and lead her over to a blanket that had a dinner basket placed on it and it was surrounded by several small candles.

"For you…" he said as she sat down and he removed the dinner that her mother had prepared for them out of the basket.

"What are you up to?" Bulma asked looking at him.

"Up to? Can’t I take you out for dinner without being suspicious?" he asked looking hurt. He was definitely not acting like ‘her’ Vegeta.

"No," she replied innocently. When they had finished dinner, Bulma noticed that Vegeta looked nervous.

"What’s wrong, Vegeta?" she asked him.

"Bulma…I have been thinking, ((damn I’m no good with speeches)), and since…well…" he stammered.

"((Vegeta…at a loss for words?))" Bulma thought.

"Will you marry me?" he asked rather fast. Bulma stared at him for a minute and he produced a small box that held an engagement ring in it.

"Y…yes…" she said as he placed the ring on her finger. Now this was definitely not the Vegeta she knew. Vegeta then kissed her tenderly.

"You have no idea how hard that was, woman," he said gruffly.

"You know…I like it better when you act like yourself," she said as she settled her arms around his neck and he took off towards a park where there were going to be some fireworks to celebrate the new millennium. They were on every night and, he had seen them from the gravity room.

"It was your mother who told me how I should go about it, I admit that fully here, and now," he said. They landed in the park and were walking along the boardwalk when they heard a very familiar voice call out to someone.

"Julia! Wait up!" Yamcha called. A blond haired woman ran past Bulma and Vegeta. Yamcha rounded the corner and stopped short when he saw Bulma standing there wrapped in Vegeta’s arms.

"Uh, Bulma…I see your arm is okay…" he stuttered. Bulma knew what he was thinking.

"What do you want?" she asked him coldly.

"Well I was…just going after…"

"Julia?" Vegeta asked. Yamcha looked at his feet.

"Bulma, can I talk to you…alone for a minute?" he asked her. Bulma walked out of Vegeta’s embrace and over to Yamcha.

"You dumped me…to go out with ‘him’?" he asked her harshly.

"NO! I dumped you, because of girls like Julia," she stated. Vegeta seemed to be enjoying this argument.

"Tell me…would you ever go out with me again…I promise I will be faithful," he said. Bulma stared at him in shock.

"You think that huh? After all the hurting you’ve put me through, its time you received some of that back. I will never go out with you again," she stated.

"But why?"

"Yamcha…I’m engaged," she stated bluntly and Yamcha did a double take.

"En…engaged? To who?" he asked.

"Open your eyes Yamcha. If I was engaged to someone would I be here with Vegeta?"

"You’re engaged to Vegeta!" he yelled. That was enough, Vegeta walked over and stood behind Bulma.

"I think you owe her an apology," he said.

"Why do you care? Bulma…can’t you see that he’s using you?" Yamcha said ignoring the fact that Vegeta could easily pound the crap out of him.

"For what? He’s got power, he doesn’t need money…you just can’t except the fact that I’ve moved on with my life! Just…Vegeta I want to go home," she said. Vegeta picked her up and was about to take off when Yamcha stopped him, (like he could make Vegeta do anything he didn’t want to do).

"Bulma…I’m so sorry," he said. Bulma didn’t answer, and Vegeta took off into the sky towards Capsule Corp. In the days to follow Vegeta reverted back to his old self, around other people anyway, to Bulma he was…well…he was just Vegeta. The man he never let anyone else see. The part he had kept hidden from everyone that Bulma had uncovered. Vegeta didn’t want Kakkarott, (AKA, Goku), to come. He would never live it down if he saw him making an idiot of himself. Yet he would do it because it made Bulma happy.

"Hello?" the voice over the phone said.

"Chichi? Its Bulma…I’m getting married!" Bulma said.

"Married! Oh, Bulma…I thought you and Yamcha broke up," Chichi said.

"We did…I’m marrying Vegeta,"

"WHAT!?" Chichi yelled into the phone, Vegeta saw Bulma hold the phone farther away from her ear just then and also heard Kakkarott ask his wife ‘what was that for’ over the phone.

"That’s right…do you think that you, Gohan, and Goku could come? It’s tomorrow," she asked her. Chichi was still trying to comprehend what her friend had just said.

"But…but why him?" she asked.

"I’ll ignore that. So will you guys come?"

"S…sure. What time?"

"Noon…See you there. Bye," she said as she hung up the phone. She sat down at the table and took two aspirin to get rid of the headache caused by Chichi’s yelling. How did Goku put up with it?

"Is that all?" Vegeta asked. Bulma had made a very short list of guests…for his sake and her own. She still had the little matter of telling her father. He didn’t like the idea of Vegeta even living at Capsule Corp. He didn’t know Bulma was pregnant, or even involved with Vegeta. As if on cue, both of them walked in with their suitcases.

"Hey Bulma…Vegeta…" her father said.

"Um…hi dad…we need to talk," she said.

"What is it dear?" he asked looking at his wife. His wife smiled and left the kitchen, as did Vegeta.

"Well…what would you say if I told you I was going to have a baby?"

"WHAT!?" he yelled.

"What if I said that the father of the baby proposed to me…and we were going to get married tomorrow?" she asked not looking at him.

"Well…I guess that’s okay as long as he’s taking the responsibility to do something. But I thought you and Yamcha broke up," he stated.

"Why does everyone assume that it’s Yamcha?"

"Then who is it?"

"Well…"

"BULMA!! Who is it?" he asked.

"Vegeta…" she said. Her father looked at her for a few seconds then he fainted and fell to the floor. Mrs. Briefs walked in and went to grab him and drag him down the hall to their room.

"Don’t worry Bulma. I won’t let him ruin it for you," she said. Bulma walked out of the room and into her garden by the small pond. It was where she and Vegeta had first kissed. Vegeta was waiting for her there.

"I take it your father doesn’t like the idea?" he asked her.

"I don’t care if he does or doesn’t…I’m old enough to decide what to do with my life," she said and Vegeta drew her into his arms and kissed her gently.

"I always considered myself better then everyone and everything. Now I know that that isn’t true," he said as he rested his head on top of hers.

"How so?" she asked him.

"You have a spirit, pride, and will that rivals my own. Now I know that the physically weaker are stronger in some aspects of life, and in some ways you can act like a Saiyan femaile," he said and looked down at her.

"Vegeta…" she whispered and he kissed her again softly. Tomorrow would be interesting.

***

"Chichi…you didn’t tell us who Bulma’s marrying," Goku said as Chichi, Gohan, and himself were hurrying to buy a wedding gift half an hour before the wedding.

"Vegeta…she’s marrying Vegeta…" she said as she paid for the item they had got.

"What!" Gohan yelled.

"Gohan don’t raise your voice," Chichi said.

"I wondered how long it would take for those two to get together," Goku said as his wife sped along to Capsule Corp.

"This isn’t funny. She’s throwing her life away…she’s marrying a monster!" Chichi said. When they pulled up to the compound friends and family of Bulma were there. They walked into the back yard and Bulma’s parents greeted them.

"Goku…it’s so good to see you, you too Chichi," Mrs. Briefs said.

"How, how can you let her marry Vegeta?" Chichi asked Bulma’s parents.

"I assure you I have nothing to do with it," Mr. Briefs said.

"Chichi…that wasn’t really nice to say," Goku said as he and his family sat down among Bulma’s friends. No sooner had they sat down then Vegeta was waiting for Bulma and she was walking down the isle. Her dress had been her mother’s and it was made of elegant white silk and lace. Bulma and Vegeta seemed to be lost in each other’s eyes as the ceremony passed quickly and they had finished their vows.

"You may no kiss the bride," the minister said. Vegeta kissed her passionately. Little did he know that a few reporters had gotten in and they were taking pictures of the passionate kiss. The richest woman in the world being married to a man no one knew anything about was big news. They stopped however and Vegeta noticed that his ‘wife’ was glaring at them. The reception afterwards was fun, for Vegeta. He could finally eat, Bulma noticed that he however was not eating as much as he usually did. But it was still a lot of food. She had been prepared after all she knew that Saiyans had big appetites, and she had three present at her wedding.

"So, Vegeta…where are you taking Bulma for your honeymoon?" Goku asked him.

"My what?"

"You know. Where you go on vacation after your wedding," he said.

"That’s a surprise and I’m not going to tell you, because you’ll probably go blab it to your wife who’ll go and tell her," he said. Goku agreed with him. When everyone had said goodbye and left, Bulma changed into shorts and a T-shirt.

"Vegeta?" she asked when he walked into the kitchen. He scooped her up into his arms and walked to the front door.

"Where are we going?" she asked him. Vegeta zoomed off across the sky.

"It’s a surprise," he said. Bulma relaxed into her husband’s arms and fell into a peaceful sleep.
