Patrick & Sabrina & Britt #18 December 21, 2013 - April 15, 2014: 8 hour original edit DVD #18AIn the hospital's elevator, Sabrina confessed that she dreaded telling Patrick that she had failed to secure the financial backing for the Nurses' Ball. Sabrina insisted that Lucy had been their last hope, but Felix refused to believe that Lucy's company would go bankrupt before he reached Golden Duck status. Sabrina spotted Patrick at the nurses' station with Britt as Sabrina and Felix exited the elevator. Patrick smiled when he saw Sabrina, so he asked if the trip to New York City had been a success. Sabrina struggled to find the words to tell Patrick about what had happened, but Britt smugly guessed that it had been a failure. Felix bristled, so he insisted that the trip had been a "smashing success." Patrick didn't notice Sabrina's shocked expression as he congratulated and hugged her. Britt pulled them apart on the pretext of giving Sabrina a congratulatory hug too. Britt confessed that it was a miracle that Sabrina had pulled it off because Britt had read about Lucy's financial difficulties in the newspaper. Patrick was curious what Britt was talking about, so Britt gladly told him about the government freezing Lucy's assets. Felix assured Britt that Lucy didn't have any money troubles. Sabrina was forced to back up Felix's story by explaining that Lucy had been upfront about the investigation and that Lucy had assured them that the charges were unfounded, so Lucy would sail through the investigation with flying colors. Britt remained skeptical, but Felix insisted that Lucy's personal finances were secure. Patrick relaxed and praised Sabrina for having found the right person to sponsor the ball. Sabrina smiled awkwardly and then excused herself and Felix because they had a ball to plan. Britt wondered if Patrick had noticed that Sabrina seemed "weirder" than usual. Moments later, Sabrina demanded to know what Felix had been thinking when he had lied to Patrick about Lucy's financial support. Felix refused to let Britt have the last word, but Sabrina pointed out that they couldn't continue to lie because Lucy wasn't in a position to help. Elizabeth walked up and admitted that she felt terrible that things hadn't worked out with Lucy. Elizabeth was surprised when Felix admitted that he might have implied that the resurrection of the Nurses' Ball was all but assured. Sabrina explained that they couldn't continue to lie to Patrick, so she started to go to the nurses' station to confess the truth to Patrick. Felix stopped Sabrina because "Brittch" had been the reason that they had lied in the first place. Sabrina reminded him that the intention of the ball was to honor Patrick's late wife, so it wasn't right to let him believe that the ball would happen when it wouldn't. Meanwhile, Britt thanked Patrick for inviting her over for a drink and assured him that she had enjoyed their time together. She promised to give him and Emma space over the holidays because she knew that it would be difficult for him, but she wanted him to know that he could count on her if he needed someone to talk to. Patrick smiled just as Sabrina asked to speak to him. Britt informed Sabrina that Britt and Patrick had been in the middle of a conversation, but Elizabeth explained that Sabrina had something important to tell Patrick. Britt wondered if it was about the financial backing for the ball. Sabrina stammered as she tried to tell Patrick the truth, but Felix spotted Lucy approaching the nurses' station. Lucy warmly greeted Sabrina and hugged Felix. Moments later, Lucy noticed Elizabeth. Lucy hugged Elizabeth and remarked how beautiful Elizabeth was. Lucy's eyes lit up with interest when she saw Patrick, so Sabrina quickly introduced Lucy to him. Lucy quickly offered her condolences as she told Patrick that Robin had been a bright light in her life. Sabrina smiled with relief when Lucy announced that she was eager to get working on the Nurses' Ball. Meanwhile, Britt couldn't hide her frustration as she scowled at everyone. 12/28 At the nurses' station, Patrick asked Sabrina if she had any plans for New Year's Eve. Sabrina immediately became lost in a fantasy of Patrick wanting to spend New Year's Eve with her on a date, but in reality he wanted her to babysit Emma. Sabrina covered her embarrassment by agreeing to watch Emma. Moments later, Britt walked up, so Patrick told her that they could go out New Year's Eve because Sabrina had agreed to babysit Emma. Britt smiled with satisfaction because everything had worked out. Patrick confessed that he was a bit surprised that Sabrina had been free for the evening. He wondered if the men in town were blind, so Sabrina pointedly looked at Britt as she admitted that she'd rather not spend New Year's Eve with the wrong person. Besides, Sabrina assured him, she welcomed the opportunity to work on plans for the ball when Emma went to bed. After Sabrina stepped away, Britt commented that Lucy had made quite an entrance by announcing that the ball was a go. "Too bad it's not," Britt added. Sabrina was close enough to overhear as Patrick asked what Britt was talking about. Britt claimed that she had read about Lucy's financial woes and the SEC investigation. According to Britt, Lucy was penniless and couldn't fund the nurses' ball. Sabrina returned to the nurses' station as Patrick warned Britt that Todd Manning would print anything to sell his newspaper. Britt revealed that she had done some research to be helpful, so she knew that Lucy's assets had been frozen. Britt thought that Sabrina should have done her homework because it could have saved everyone a great deal of heartache. Patrick defended Sabrina by suggesting that Lucy had misrepresented herself. Sabrina confessed that Lucy had been truthful about her financial difficulties and that Sabrina had intended to tell Patrick that the meeting hadn't gone well. Britt reminded Patrick that Sabrina had given everyone the impression that the meeting had been a success, but Patrick argued that Felix had been the one to make those claims, not Sabrina. Sabrina explained that she hadn't mentioned what had transpired at the meeting with Lucy because Lucy had shown up and had announced that the ball was going to happen. Britt continued to try to make Sabrina look bad, but Sabrina assured Patrick that she had thought that Lucy had worked things out with the SEC because Lucy was a smart businesswoman. Patrick was curious if Lucy had written a check for the ball, so Sabrina admitted that Lucy hadn't. Britt argued that any money from Lucy would be tainted because of Lucy's shady business dealings, but Patrick pointed out that everyone had looked the other way in the past when less-than-savory people had donated money to the hospital. Britt advised Sabrina to carefully check out any other potential benefactors, but Sabrina admitted that there wasn't anyone else. "Too bad," Britt replied with a hint of satisfaction. Patrick insisted that Lucy might still help, so Sabrina revealed that she had been scheduled to meet with Lucy. Britt was curious what time the appointment was, so Sabrina glanced at her watch and realized that Lucy was late. Britt smiled smugly. Later, Patrick noticed Sabrina watching the elevators closely, so he wondered if she had heard from Lucy. Sabrina admitted that she hadn't as Britt walked up to announce that Sabrina's shift was over, so Sabrina could leave. Sabrina decided to wait for Lucy, so Patrick suggested that perhaps Lucy was stuck in traffic. Britt revealed that people sometimes couldn't say no, so Sabrina asked what Britt meant by that. Britt didn't have an opportunity to reply because Lucy arrived and apologized for her tardiness. Britt hid her annoyance behind a polite smile. Lucy assured Sabrina that she had a lot of ideas for the ball, but Sabrina pointed out that they needed funding. Lucy agreed, but admitted that she wasn't in a position to fund the ball. Sabrina was dejected because it meant that the ball wouldn't happen. Moments later, Tracy and A.J. exited the elevator. Lucy announced that even though she couldn't underwrite the ball, ELQ would. Patrick and Sabrina smiled when Lucy informed them that either Tracy or A.J. would write a check to fund the ball. 1/2 At the Drake residence, Patrick was on the phone with Britt when Emma entered the living room. Emma wanted to go to the New Year's Eve party with Patrick, so Patrick covered the phone's mouthpiece as he explained that the party was for adults. Emma complained that "Dr. Britt" didn't act like a grownup, so Patrick scolded his daughter and sent her to her room to change into her pajamas. After Emma left the room, Patrick resumed his conversation with Britt. Britt was curious if Patrick and Emma had been talking about her, so Patrick explained Emma wanted to go to the party. However, Patrick assured Britt that Emma would cheer up when Sabrina arrived because Emma loved Sabrina. "Who doesn't?" Britt asked, while carefully hiding her disdain for the young nurse. Moments later, the doorbell rang, so Patrick ended the call and opened the door. Sabrina stood on the doorstep, wearing a pair of 2013 New Year's Eve glasses. Patrick smiled when she blew on her noisemaker and entered the house. She revealed that she had picked up party favors for Emma, too, because she thought that Emma would enjoy them. Patrick agreed as Sabrina became lost in a fantasy about Patrick kissing her. Sabrina snapped out of the fantasy when Patrick had to repeat her name several times and asked where she had gone. "Nowhere at all," Sabrina assured him as Emma ran into the living room and warmly greeted her. Sabrina showed Emma the party favors that she had picked up, so Emma suggested that Patrick stay instead of going out. Emma put on her 2013 New Year's Eve glasses and handed a pair to Patrick to try on. Sabrina offered to snap a picture, so Patrick and Emma posed. Afterwards, Patrick promised to wake his daughter when he returned home, and he left. Later, Sabrina and Emma watched the New Year's Eve festivities on television. Emma was curious what adult parties were like, so Sabrina explained that people talked and danced. "Will Daddy dance with Dr. Britt?" Emma wondered. "Probably," Sabrina replied. Emma was curious if Britt would be her new mother, so Sabrina carefully asked how Emma would feel about that. "Terrible. I don't like her," Emma admitted. Sabrina was surprised when Emma confessed that she'd rather have Sabrina as a mother. Sabrina assured Emma that she would be proud to be Emma's mother because Emma was a wonderful little girl, but Emma already had the world's best mother. "But she's in Heaven," Emma reminded Sabrina. Sabrina promised to always be Emma's friend, but no one could replace Emma's mother. Emma nodded and hugged Sabrina. At the hospital, Britt was relieved when her shift ended because she was eager to join Patrick at the Haunted Star. However, her plans were delayed when Michael arrived with Starr and asked for Britt to examine Starr. Britt reluctantly agreed, even though Starr insisted that she was fine. Britt led the couple to an examination room and checked Starr for signs of a possible concussion. Britt decided that more testing was needed when Michael revealed that Starr had been unconscious for several minutes. Starr argued that they didn't have time for that because Connie had abducted Johnny. Later, Britt determined that Starr was fine and then quickly left. Meanwhile, Britt had changed into a sexy tight dress. She called Patrick to apologize for the delay but assured him that she was on her way. After she ended the call, Britt waited for the elevator to arrive. Moments later, the door slid open. A woman and young girl exited the elevator and smiled when they saw Britt because they had been looking for her. Britt greeted the little girl by the wrong name, so the mother corrected Britt and explained that they had wanted to give Britt some peanut brittle as a show of appreciation for everything that Britt had done for the little girl. Britt leaned down to accept a hug from the little girl, who promptly vomited down the back of Britt's dress. Britt was forced to change into a pair of scrubs, so she called Patrick to let him know that she would be there soon. Maxie arrived as Britt was on the phone with Patrick. Britt was frustrated when Maxie explained that she had fallen, so she was concerned about the baby. Patrick had overheard enough to know that Britt would be delayed yet again, so he decided to take a rain check on the date and promised to call Britt the following day. Patrick arrived home and smiled when he saw Sabrina asleep on the sofa. He touched her shoulder, which startled her awake. Patrick immediately apologized, but Sabrina assured him that it was okay. She was curious what time it was, so Patrick revealed that it was a few minutes before midnight, and then explained that Britt hadn't been able to make it to the Haunted Star. Sabrina started to leave, but Patrick invited her to stay to ring in the new year with him by watching television and eating popcorn. Sabrina agreed, so she sat down. As the ball dropped in Times Square, Sabrina turned to look at Patrick. The air of casual friendship suddenly shifted as they slowly leaned towards each other for a New Year's kiss. 1/3 At the Drake residence, Patrick and Sabrina slowly leaned towards each other to ring in the new year with a kiss when Patrick's cell phone rang. Patrick quickly jumped up and answered his phone, while Sabrina appeared dazed by what had almost happened. She quickly recovered when she realized that Patrick was on the phone with Britt. Britt apologized to Patrick for not making it to the Haunted Star and admitted that she was disappointed that she hadn't been able to enjoy the special night with him. Patrick assured her that he felt the same way. Britt wished Patrick a happy New Year, so Patrick wished her the same and then ended the call. Meanwhile, Sabrina had grabbed her things, thrown on her coat, and raced to the door to leave, but Patrick called out to her. He awkwardly hesitated and then reminded her that he had to pay her for watching Emma. Sabrina insisted that it wasn't necessary, but Patrick disagreed. Patrick explained that he had to check on Emma and then fetch the money from the bedroom, so he asked Sabrina to wait. Sabrina reluctantly agreed, so she sat down as Patrick left the room. A short time later, the doorbell rang. Patrick didn't return, so Sabrina answered the door. Britt stood on the doorstep with her coat wide open and a seductive smile on her face as she said, "Happy New Year." "You're naked," Sabrina said in horror as she looked at Britt, who quickly snapped the coat closed and marched into Patrick's home, demanding to know what Sabrina was still doing there. Britt pointed out that Patrick had left the Haunted Star before midnight, so Sabrina should have left long before. Sabrina tried to explain that Patrick had asked her to stay, but Britt cut her off and accused Sabrina of intentionally being on hand when the clock struck midnight. "Unbelievable," Britt added snidely. Sabrina tried to defend herself, but Britt wanted to know where Patrick was. Sabrina explained that Patrick had gone to the bedroom to fetch money to pay Sabrina for babysitting Emma. Britt pulled some money out of her coat pocket and handed it to Sabrina. Sabrina refused to accept it because it was too much, but Britt ignored her and ordered Sabrina to get a jumpstart on the paperwork that had been left on Britt's desk. "What? Now?" Sabrina asked. "Yes," Britt replied as she shoved Sabrina out the door. Moments later, Patrick returned to the living room. Patrick was surprised to when he saw Britt but not Sabrina. Britt lied by claiming that Sabrina had needed to leave, so Britt had paid her. Patrick offered to repay Britt, but Britt insisted that it was her treat, and she tried to kiss him. Patrick pulled away because he was worried about why Sabrina had left so quickly. Britt suggested that perhaps Sabrina had had plans and then changed the subject by confessing that she had missed Patrick at midnight. Britt turned off the living room light and kissed Patrick. "Three guesses what I'm wearing underneath this coat," Britt whispered seductively in his ear. Patrick realized that she was naked under the coat, so Britt offered to show him. Patrick declined because he would end up taking her to his bedroom. Britt didn't mind, but Patrick feared that Emma might overhear them. Britt promised to be quiet, but Patrick argued that Emma wasn't ready to wake up to find Britt in his bedroom. Britt claimed that she understood, so she suggested that they get a hotel room soon. Patrick agreed and promised that he was ready to move forward. Britt smiled with satisfaction and kissed Patrick. After Britt left, Patrick looked at the sofa where he and Sabrina had nearly shared a kiss. At the nurses' station, Sabrina took a break from the files that she had been working on to look at the picture that she had snapped of Patrick and Emma in their 2013 New Year's Eve glasses. Sabrina smiled softly as she gazed at the snapshot. 1/4 At the hospital, Elizabeth was surprised when she saw Sabrina working, because she had thought that Sabrina had New Year's Eve plans. Sabrina smiled as she confessed that it had been a wonderful evening. Elizabeth appeared skeptical, since Sabrina had spent the evening babysitting. Sabrina told Elizabeth that Patrick had returned home early, so they had rung in the new year together. Sabrina confided that Patrick had been about to kiss her when Britt had called and then later had shown up on Patrick's doorstep, dressed in nothing except a trench coat, which had been wide open when Sabrina had opened the door. Elizabeth admitted that she would have been mortified. Sabrina revealed that Britt had been furious because Sabrina had still been at Patrick's house, so Britt had ordered Sabrina to finish up Britt's paperwork at the hospital. Elizabeth was disgusted. Sabrina changed the subject by asking if it had been busy in the emergency room. Elizabeth explained that it had been quiet. Moments later, Elizabeth received a call about the accident. A doctor examined Ellie, who hadn't regained consciousness. The doctor thought that Ellie seemed familiar, so Sabrina revealed that Ellie was a lab technician at the hospital. The doctor instructed Sabrina to notify Ellie's family, so Sabrina picked up Ellie's cell phone. Sabrina saw that the last call had been from Damian Spinelli, so she decided to call him. Spinelli's voicemail picked up, so Sabrina explained that Ellie had been in a car accident. Afterwards, the doctor told Sabrina that it appeared that Ellie had suffered a spinal cord injury. 1/8 In Ellie's hospital room, Ellie whispered, "Damien" as she slowly opened her eyes. Ellie recalled bits and pieces of the accident, so Sabrina confirmed that a car had struck Ellie. Ellie asked where Spinelli was, so Sabrina revealed that she had left Spinelli a message. Ellie wanted her cell phone, so Sabrina fetched Ellie's cell phone. Ellie was upset when she heard Spinelli's message because she realized that Spinelli had assumed the worst. Ellie was desperate to get to Spinelli to clear things up, so she tried to get out of bed. Sabrina assured Ellie that everything would be fine, so she urged Ellie to remain in bed and rest. Ellie insisted that Spinelli needed to know the truth. As if on cue, Spinelli entered the room. Sabrina quickly slipped out of the room. Elsewhere in the hospital, Patrick told Connie, Kristina, and others that Trey's condition was "catastrophic" and that Trey would not recover. Michael comforted his sister as Kristina began to cry. Sonny watched Connie carefully as Connie demanded to talk to Steve because she refused to accept Patrick's diagnosis. Patrick explained that Trey had suffered an intracranial bleed from a ruptured aneurysm, so Trey was brain dead. Kristina blamed Connie for Trey's condition, but Patrick insisted that there was no way to know what had caused the aneurysm to rupture. Connie stormed off to find someone who could help Trey. Outside of Trey's hospital room, Patrick explained to Michael that they needed to discuss the next step with Trey's family. Michael revealed that Trey's only family was Connie, so she would have to make all of the decisions. Patrick doubted that Trey had had a living will, since most people Trey's age didn't, so it would be up to Trey's loved ones to decide when to remove Trey from life support and whether or not to donate his organs. In the hallway, Sabrina bumped into Patrick. Patrick greeted Sabrina and then told her that they needed to discuss what had happened on New Year's Eve.
1/9 At the hospital, Britt lurked around a corner as she eavesdropped on Patrick and Sabrina's conversation. Patrick thought that he and Sabrina should discuss what had happened on New Year's Eve. Sabrina recalled their near-kiss, so she agreed that it would be a good idea. Patrick realized that Britt had paid Sabrina for babysitting, but he didn't understand why Sabrina had left without saying goodbye. Sabrina admitted that she hadn't wanted to get in the way, since she knew that he had planned to kiss Britt, not Sabrina, at midnight. Britt quickly stepped forward, apologized for interrupting, and then explained that she had picked up Ellie Trout's test results from the lab. Patrick quickly reviewed the results of Ellie's tests, so Sabrina asked if everything was okay with Ellie. Britt coldly glared at Sabrina, while Patrick explained that he needed to talk to Ellie. After Patrick left, Britt asked Sabrina what Sabrina and Patrick had been talking about. "Nothing much, just New Year's Eve," Sabrina carefully answered. Britt claimed that Patrick had told her that Sabrina had tried to kiss him at midnight and that he had been "mortified." Sabrina was hurt and surprised because it hadn't happened the way that Britt had described. Britt insisted that Patrick had seen it that way and that Sabrina's crush had tongues wagging among the staff. According to Britt, even Dr. Quartermaine had begun to question what was going on between Sabrina and Patrick. Britt warned Sabrina that Patrick would be the one to pay the price if things went any further between Sabrina and Patrick, so Sabrina should distance herself from Patrick as quickly as possible if Sabrina truly cared about Patrick's career. Patrick entered the room to discuss Ellie's CT and MRI results. Patrick decided to test Ellie's reflexes first, so he ran a pen across the bottom of her feet. Ellie didn't twitch or feel anything, so she suggested that perhaps the morphine had dulled her senses. Patrick continued to test Ellie's reflexes, but Ellie remained numb to all feeling. She started to become upset as she realized the significance of her lack of feeling. Patrick confirmed that the tests had indicated that she had suffered a spinal cord injury. Spinelli wondered if that meant that Ellie was paralyzed. Patrick explained that they would know more in a week when the swelling around Ellie's spinal cord went down. Patrick pointed out that the feeling in Ellie's legs could return as the swelling reduced and that she could regain full use of her legs within six months. Patrick promised to reevaluate Ellie in a week and then left. In the hallway, Sabrina asked Patrick how Ellie was doing. Patrick explained that Ellie had a lot to deal with, but it helped that Spinelli was with Ellie. Patrick then began to talk about Emma so Sabrina seized the opportunity to tell Patrick that she wouldn't be able to babysit Emma anymore because Sabrina had a full schedule with her studies and work. Patrick sensed that there was more to it, but Sabrina insisted that it was for the best because it wouldn't be fair to Patrick or Emma to count on her for babysitting when she couldn't do it. "Goodbye," Sabrina said and then walked away. 1/10 Britt smiled when she saw Patrick shrugging out of his shirt in the locker room. They talked about their busy night, but Britt sensed that something was troubling him, so she asked him what was wrong? "Sabrina," Patrick answered. "You have a problem with your babysitter?" Britt innocently asked. "Ex-babysitter," Patrick replied. Patrick explained that Sabrina had quit, so Britt pretended to be surprised and asked why. Patrick told her about Sabrina's claim that Sabrina was too busy with her studies and work to continue watching Emma. Britt claimed that she was impressed with Sabrina's maturity and offered to help Patrick break the news to Emma. Patrick decided to try to work things out with Sabrina. Britt suggested that it would be unfair to expect Sabrina to compromise her studies. Britt assured Patrick that Emma would get over losing Sabrina as long as Patrick didn't make a big deal out of it. Patrick conceded that Britt might have a point, so he headed to the shower to wash up. Moments later, Britt joined Patrick in the shower. She offered to leave, but Patrick kissed her. At the nurses' station, Liz noticed Sabrina's distraction, so Sabrina admitted that she was upset about Patrick because Sabrina had misread what had transpired on New Year's Eve. Liz was surprised when Sabrina revealed that Patrick had been embarrassed by the "almost-kiss" because it had made him "horribly uncomfortable." Liz couldn't believe that Patrick would say those things to Sabrina, so Sabrina revealed that Patrick had confided to Britt because he had been concerned about a possible sexual harassment charge. Liz pointed out that Britt was not to be trusted because Britt had a way of manipulating the truth to Britt's advantage. Liz reminded Sabrina that Britt had been the one to reveal Sabrina's fake crush on Steve during the first Nurses' Ball meeting, so Liz urged Sabrina to talk to Patrick instead of blindly believing anything that Britt had said. Sabrina conceded that Liz had a point, so Sabrina decided to find Patrick. A short time later, Sabrina was horrified when she spotted Patrick and Britt having sex in the locker room shower. Sabrina fled in tears and found a quiet corner where she cried. Meanwhile, Patrick caught up to Sabrina and suggested that they talk. Sabrina insisted that everything had been said and walked away. Nearby, Britt smiled with satisfaction. Moments later, Sabrina entered the conference room, so Liz was eager to hear how Sabrina's talk with Patrick had gone. Sabrina tearfully confessed that Patrick had been in the shower with Britt. Liz didn't have an opportunity to probe further as Patrick and Britt arrived. Britt made a point of possessively wrapping her hand around Patrick's arm and taking a seat next to him. Lucy got the meeting started by officially introducing herself and then announcing that Tracy had agreed to underwrite the Nurses' Ball. Lucy realized that Tracy hadn't signed the check, so she handed the check to Tracy for a signature. Afterwards, Liz congratulated Sabrina for all of Sabrina's hard work. Sabrina fled in tears. 1/15 At the hospital, Felix apologized for being late. Sabrina became concerned when he explained that there had been an emergency at the gym. Sabrina's compassion turned to frustration when Felix clarified that a male model had needed a spotter at the weight bench. Felix noticed Sabrina's annoyance, so he changed the subject by asking if anything "fabulous" had happened at the hospital. Miffed, Sabrina informed Felix that a twenty-five-year-old patient had been taken off of life support in the Intensive Care Unit. Felix admitted that he had been hoping for more cheerful news, so he asked about the Nurses' Ball. Sabrina confessed that they had secured funding from Tracy Quartermaine, thanks to Lucy Coe. Felix was happy that the Nurses' Ball had a sponsor, but he felt bad for A.J. Quartermaine because Felix knew how Lucy had managed to get the donation. Moments later, Todd arrived on a stretcher. Felix and Sabrina rushed to his aid as a police officer explained that Todd had been beaten up by a prisoner. Todd jokingly mumbled, "You should see the other guy." Felix couldn't imagine who would want to mar a handsome "mug" like Todd's. Todd tried to smile as he suggested that Felix was a "pleaser." Todd hoped that Felix had someone at home who took as good care of Felix as Felix did the patients. The cops quickly reminded Felix that Todd was a prisoner. Sabrina warned Felix that Todd wasn't just any bad guy; Todd was the man who had turned down Sabrina's request to underwrite the Nurses' Ball. Felix was immediately disillusioned with Todd, so they moved Todd to an examination room and then Felix suggested that Sabrina fetch Dr. Webber. At Kelly's, Lucy Coe stumbled backwards in shock when she saw John McBain sitting in the diner. She ordered John to stay away from her and then accused him of being "Caleb Morley, king of the vampires." John smiled indulgently as he tried to assure Lucy that she was mistaken, but Lucy grabbed a knife and advanced on John. Todd, dressed as a doctor with a surgical mask, stepped into the hallway. Sabrina immediately grabbed him to examine John who had arrived moments earlier with a stake through the shoulder. Todd adopted a fake accent as he tried to pawn John off on another doctor, but Sabrina insisted that they didn't have time. Todd determined that it was an "average" stake wound that looked worse than it was. John quietly mumbled, "Manning," when he recognized Todd's voice. Sabrina didn't hear John, because Todd ordered her to fetch a shot of morphine for John's pain. Sabrina questioned the wisdom of giving John pain medication, but ultimately followed the doctor's orders. 1/16 At the hospital, Sabrina and Felix were shocked when they read about Lucy's arrest. Felix suspected that the strain of CoeCoe Cosmetics legal troubles had taken a toll on Lucy. Sabrina feared that it was unlikely that Lucy would get out of jail soon, but Felix argued that it didn't matter because the check had been cashed, so the ball would go on. Sabrina insisted that there were a million things that had to be done, but she couldn't do them because she couldn't work alongside Patrick. Sabrina was afraid that it would be too uncomfortable for Patrick to be around her. Felix accused Sabrina of overreacting and reminded her that the Nurses' Ball was bigger than any problems that Sabrina and Patrick might have. Sabrina conceded that Felix had a point, so she decided that they needed to think like Lucy and get organized. Felix agreed, minus the vampire stuff, which they both agreed was creepy. 1/17 At the hospital, Britt was curious if Sabrina knew where to find Patrick, so Sabrina suggested that Britt check the locker room. Britt dashed off, hoping to catch Patrick in the shower. Sabrina shook off the memory of seeing Britt and Patrick in the shower together when Epiphany walked up to find out where Felix was. Sabrina claimed that he had gone to the general supply closet to fetch latex gloves. Epiphany had been there, but hadn't seen Felix, so she warned Sabrina that Felix had better not be skipping work. In the locker room, Britt was disappointed when she saw Patrick getting dressed after a shower. Patrick admitted that the shower had been lonely without her, so Britt wondered if he thought that she had been too aggressive the other day. Patrick confessed that he had been over-thinking things, so he appreciated that she had taken the initiative by joining him in the shower. Britt smiled and asked when they could spend some time together in a big bed. Patrick reminded her that he had babysitter problems, so she revealed that she had taken the liberty of getting the name of a reputable babysitting agency. Patrick thanked Britt as she handed him the slip of paper, but he explained that Sabrina would be hard to replace. Britt admitted that she wanted to spend more time with Emma, so that Emma could get used to her and not be surprised when Britt spent the night. Britt even offered to make pancakes. "Um, we need to talk about that," Patrick replied. He assured Britt that she was great, smart, and sexy, but he wanted to take things one day at a time because he was still trying to figure things out. Britt pasted on a brittle smile as she assured him that she understood. Moments later, Sabrina entered the locker room. Patrick confessed that he had wanted to see her. Sabrina's surprise turned to embarrassment when Patrick handed her the eyeglass case that she had left behind at the house. Britt smiled and invited Patrick for coffee, so Patrick and Britt left. In Todd's hotel suite, Felix was stunned when he noticed Carly's shorn locks. Carly made it clear that it was none of Felix's business, so Felix assured her that he empathized. Carly confessed that she had cut her own hair. Later, Epiphany spotted Sabrina, so she called out to the young nurse to find out where Felix was. Epiphany expected the truth, so Sabrina reluctantly admitted that Felix had gone to secure a venue for the Nurses' Ball. Epiphany informed Sabrina that there wouldn't be a Nurses' Ball. Sabrina assured Epiphany that Lucy's legal troubles wouldn't impact the ball because they had secured funding. Epiphany explained that it had nothing to do with Lucy's shenanigans or Tracy's money. Epiphany asked Sabrina what Epiphany's title was. "Head nurse," Epiphany answered without waiting for a reply. Epiphany pointed out that no one had discussed the event with her, even though the committee had had meetings, raised money, and had picked a venue. Epiphany was curious why no one had bothered to talk to Epiphany about the Nurses' Ball. Sabrina quietly confessed that Felix had suggested that it would be a bad idea because Epiphany didn't have any sense of fun. Offended, Epiphany insisted that she was a lot of fun, so she decided to show Felix how much fun she could be. 1/18 In Ellie's hospital room, Ellie and Spinelli were playing on the laptop when Patrick entered. Ellie confessed that she was a little concerned because she recalled that Patrick had told her that it would be a good sign if Ellie felt sensation or movement in her legs within seven days of the accident. "It's been six-and-a-half days," Ellie pointed out nervously. Patrick instructed Ellie to close her eyes as he moved to the bottom of her feet and ran a pen under them. Patrick looked concerned when Ellie didn't react. Ellie suddenly announced that she had felt something, but Patrick gently explained that he hadn't done anything at that moment. Ellie realized that it had been her imagination, but Patrick assured her that there was still hope because some patients needed more time. 1/22 In an examination room, Maxie was eager to know if Britt could implant Lulu and Dante's extra embryo. Britt explained that it wasn't possible because Maxie was pregnant. Maxie appeared momentarily confused and then assumed that she was still pregnant. "Not still," Britt replied. "You're pregnant again," Britt clarified. Maxie insisted that it wasn't possible, but Britt pointed out that clearly Maxie had gotten pregnant the old-fashioned way by having intercourse. Maxie suddenly recalled her one-night stand with Spinelli on New Year's Eve. "Oh, my God. Spinelli," Maxie said in stunned disbelief. 1/23 At Kelly's, Patrick and Emma were seated at a table, talking about school, when Sabrina entered. Emma ran to Sabrina and hugged her. Sabrina returned the warm greeting as Patrick looked on. Emma confessed that she had missed Sabrina, and wondered when Sabrina would babysit. Sabrina realized that Patrick hadn't told Emma about Sabrina's decision. Emma wanted to know what was going on, so Patrick explained that Sabrina couldn't babysit anymore because Sabrina was busy studying for her nurses' exam. Emma was disappointed and reminded Sabrina that Sabrina had promised that they could work on the Nurses' Ball together. Sabrina assured Emma that Emma would be a part of the ball because the event honored Emma's mother. Emma smiled and asked if Patrick, Emma, and Sabrina would be in a skit together. Sabrina smiled awkwardly as she explained that she would be busy making certain that everything ran smoothly, but she promised that Patrick and Emma could perform together. Sabrina also pointed out that Patrick and Emma would be the guests of honor. Patrick assured Emma that they would work out the details. Sabrina excused herself to fetch her takeout order, so she hugged Emma and admitted that she missed the little girl. After Sabrina walked to the counter, Patrick suggested that Emma finish the ice cream. Emma insisted that she wanted Sabrina to be her babysitter. Patrick explained that Sabrina needed time to study, so they couldn't expect Sabrina to take care of them and forget about her nursing career. Emma promised to be quiet when Sabrina watched her so that Sabrina could study. Meanwhile, Sabrina sat at the counter, listening to Patrick and Emma's conversation as she fought back tears. Patrick promised to find Emma a great babysitter and then suggested that they might not need one as often because Emma could join Patrick and Britt on some of their outings. Emma grimaced because she didn't like Britt. Patrick was surprised, so Emma explained that Britt was mean. Patrick asked Emma to give Britt a chance, but Emma refused to consider it because she didn't want Britt to be her new mommy. Patrick was startled by Emma's suggestion. He made it clear that he had never said that Britt would be Emma's mother. Emma reminded her father that her mother was in heaven, but if she had to have a new mother then she wanted her to be Sabrina. Emma ran over to Sabrina and wrapped her arms around her as she once again insisted that she wanted Sabrina to be her new mother. Sabrina gently explained that she wasn't going anywhere and suggested that perhaps Elizabeth could stop by the nursing station with Emma for visits. Emma wanted Sabrina to visit at the house, but Patrick warned Emma to drop the matter. He ordered his daughter to return to the table. Initially, Emma refused, but Patrick stood firm, so Emma reluctantly complied with her father's demand. Patrick apologized to Sabrina for Emma's outburst, but Sabrina assured him that it was okay. She appreciated that even good little girls like Emma occasionally held meltdowns. 1/24 In Metro Court's lobby, Felix was disgusted that "Dr. Dreamboat and the Britch" had sullied the locker room shower with their "animal coupling." Sabrina confessed that it was an image that had been seared into her brain. Felix thought that Sabrina should explain to Patrick that the locker room was not a Motel No-Tell. Sabrina reminded Felix that Patrick was already uncomfortable around her, so scolding Patrick about semi-public sex would make things worse. Sabrina thought that she was better off avoiding Patrick, even if it meant that she had to lie to Emma. Moments later, Carly arrived. Felix gushed about Carly's new haircut and praised her for not allowing Todd to get the best of her. Sabrina quickly apologized for Felix's bluntness, but Carly took it in stride. Felix was curious if Todd had seen Carly's new look, so Carly admitted that she had gone to Todd's arraignment to make certain that Todd knew what Todd would be missing. Felix suggested that Sabrina do the same with Patrick. Carly was surprised that Sabrina was dating Patrick, so Sabrina quickly clarified that they weren't. Felix revealed that Patrick was dating "the Britch." Carly was curious about the nickname, so Felix filled Carly in on why he didn't like Britt. Afterwards, Felix pulled the clip out of Sabrina's hair, ripped off her eyeglasses, and unbuttoned the top few buttons of Sabrina's top to show Sabrina how easy it would be to update her look like Carly had. Sabrina took back her eyeglasses and reminded Felix that Patrick was interested in Britt. Carly pointed out that perhaps Patrick only went out with Britt because Britt had been the first woman to make a move on him. Carly suggested that Sabrina show Patrick that he had other options. Felix was impressed with Carly's advice, so he was curious why she had fallen for Todd's lies. Carly admitted that she had wanted to believe Todd, so Felix advised Carly and Sabrina to find men who respected, valued, and treated them as divinely as they deserved. Carly insisted that she needed a break from men, but Felix thought that she should consider pursuing a relationship with the man who had stayed with her during her drunken meltdown. "A.J.?" Carly asked, horrified. Carly explained that A.J. was not an option because she only felt a murderous rage towards him. Felix was curious why she had spent the night with A.J., so Carly made it clear that she had not had sex with A.J. and that he had only stuck around to laugh at her. Carly then changed the subject by reminding them that they had business to attend to. Sabrina was grateful that Carly had donated Metro Court's ballroom for the Nurses' Ball. Carly confessed that she and Robin hadn't been friends, but a lot of people that Carly had cared about had been close to Robin. Sabrina was certain that Patrick would appreciate Carly's generosity.Carly insisted that Patrick was a good guy. "Maybe worth hanging in there for," Carly added with a gentle smile. Later, Carly handed the signed contracts to Felix and Sabrina. Felix suggested that Carly consider taking A.J. to the ball, so Carly explained that she and A.J. had a child, whom A.J. had kidnapped, and then A.J. had faked his death to avoid prosecution for the kidnapping. Felix pointed out that there was a fine line between love and hate, but Carly simply glared at Felix. After Felix and Sabrina left, Carly was surprised when A.J. entered the lobby and walked up to her. At the nurses' station, Elizabeth saw Patrick looking over the nurses' schedule, so she asked if she could help him with something. Patrick explained that Sabrina had been scheduled to work, but he hadn't seen her. Elizabeth revealed that another nurse had filled in for Sabrina because Sabrina and Felix were working on something for the Nurses' Ball. Patrick was curious if Sabrina would be back later. "What's it to you?" Elizabeth asked with a smile. Patrick feared that he had offended Sabrina because she had been avoiding him and Emma, which didn't make sense because Sabrina adored Emma. Elizabeth reminded Patrick that Sabrina had had a lot on her plate with a heavy work schedule, exams, and planning the Nurses' Ball. Patrick wondered if he had misread things or if something else was going on. Elizabeth refused to betray Sabrina's confidence, which confirmed Patrick's suspicions that something was troubling Sabrina. Patrick didn't want to put Elizabeth on the spot, but Emma loved Sabrina. Patrick explained that Emma had clicked with Sabrina in a way that she hadn't with Britt. "Oh, so she and Britt haven't hit their stride yet?" Elizabeth asked. Patrick doubted that it would ever happen because Emma had made it clear that she didn't like Britt. "Smart girl," Elizabeth said with a chuckle. Patrick was surprised that Elizabeth didn't like Britt either, so he wanted to know why. Elizabeth was curious if Patrick had ever noticed how officious Britt had been with the nurses, especially Sabrina. Patrick wondered if Elizabeth were suggesting that Britt singled Sabrina out. He couldn't understand why Britt would have a problem with Sabrina because everyone loved Sabrina. Frustrated, Elizabeth told Patrick to open his eyes. "Why do you think?" she asked him. Patrick was curious if Sabrina had been avoiding him because Britt had been treating Sabrina poorly. "Wow. So close, yet so far," Elizabeth replied. Patrick asked Elizabeth to explain herself, but Britt walked up and asked if she was interrupting. "Not at all," Elizabeth replied. Britt dragged Patrick aside to invite Patrick and Emma to go ice-skating with her that afternoon. Patrick was reluctant to agree, prompting Britt to wonder if he had changed his mind about Britt and Emma getting to know each other. Patrick glanced at Elizabeth and then changed his mind. He told Britt that Emma had an early dismissal that day, so he promised to pick his daughter up and meet Britt later. After Patrick left, Britt held out a file to Elizabeth and ordered Elizabeth to file it. Elizabeth ignored Britt. "Nurse Webber, I'm giving you a file," Britt said. Elizabeth asked for the magic word, so Britt reluctantly added, "Please." "As you wish," Elizabeth sweetly replied as she took the file and walked away. Moments later, Sabrina spotted Britt, so she asked Britt what was on the schedule for the day. Britt gloated that she had plans with Patrick and Emma to go ice-skating, so Sabrina suggested that Britt make certain that Emma didn't forget her pink mittens. Britt reminded Sabrina that Emma was no longer Sabrina's problem. "She's mine," Britt added smugly and walked away. 1/25 At the nurses' station, Sabrina announced that she had good and bad news. Sabrina revealed that they had secured a venue for the Nurses' Ball. Elizabeth was curious what the bad news was, so Sabrina told her that Patrick and Britt had taken Emma ice-skating. Elizabeth confided that, if it helped, Patrick had been tempted to turn Britt's invitation down. Sabrina wondered why, so Elizabeth confessed that she had told Patrick that Britt treated Sabrina like the wicked stepmother had treated Cinderella. Sabrina was horrified, but Elizabeth insisted that someone had needed to clue Patrick in. Sabrina suggested that perhaps Elizabeth had been too hard on Britt because Britt had let Sabrina know that Sabrina's crush had made Patrick uncomfortable. Elizabeth argued that Patrick wouldn't have been concerned about why Sabrina no longer wanted to babysit Emma if he had been uncomfortable around Sabrina. Sabrina explained that it was inappropriate for her to have a crush on Patrick, so it was best for Sabrina to keep her distance from him. Elizabeth disagreed because Patrick had been upset about Sabrina's decision, especially since Sabrina had been the most consistent presence in Emma's life since Robin had died. Elizabeth implored Sabrina not to let Britt take Sabrina's place. Sabrina admitted that it killed her that Emma had been caught in the middle of things, but Sabrina couldn't be around Patrick because of her strong feelings for him. Sabrina thought that it was best to make a clean break of things. Elizabeth insisted that it wasn't fair to Emma. Sabrina agreed that Emma deserved to have someone warm and compassionate who understood that Robin couldn't be replaced, someone who was willing to make their own place in Emma's life and give Emma the love that Emma needed. However, Sabrina couldn't be that person, so all Sabrina could do was pray that Britt learned to appreciate that Emma was an amazing little girl. Elizabeth was certain that Patrick would dump Britt when he saw Britt for who Britt really was. Elizabeth suggested that Sabrina might be over her crush by then, but Sabrina doubted it because she loved Patrick and couldn't imagine that changing. Elizabeth thought it might be time for Sabrina to find someone else. Sabrina confessed that Felix had said the same thing, but Sabrina couldn't do it. Elizabeth wondered if Sabrina was ready to spend the rest of her life loving a man that she couldn't have. At Kelly's, Britt asked if Emma was excited about going ice-skating after their lunch. Emma colored as she gave Britt a noncommittal answer. Britt decided to surprise Emma with a gift, so Britt pulled something out of her purse and handed it to Emma. "Sugar Rush?" Emma asked, unimpressed. Britt explained that it was a cool driving game that featured girl racecar drivers. Patrick reminded his daughter to thank Britt, so Emma complied and then revealed that Sabrina had already given Emma the game. Britt's smile faltered as Patrick scolded his daughter for being rude. Britt assured Patrick that it was okay and asked Emma if there was another game or toy that Emma would like. Emma didn't want anything, so she asked to go to the restroom. Britt offered to take Emma, but Patrick started to stand up. Emma assured her father that she was capable of going alone. Patrick kept a close eye on Emma until she disappeared into the restroom. He asked Britt not to take Emma's behavior personally, so Britt assured him that she didn't. Britt jokingly pointed out that it wasn't as if Emma had said that she didn't like Britt. Britt immediately realized that she was wrong. Patrick explained that Emma was upset that Sabrina had stopped babysitting. However, he hoped that Emma would change her mind about Britt once she had a chance to get to know Britt. Moments later, Emma returned to the table, so Patrick offered to order chocolate milk and macaroni and cheese for Emma. Britt confessed that it sounded delicious, but she couldn't indulge because her clothes wouldn't fit. Patrick chuckled and assured Emma that Britt looked fine. Patrick excused himself when he received a call that he had been expecting. After Patrick walked away Britt tried to get Emma to open up, but Emma ignored Britt's efforts. Frustrated, Britt asked what Emma's problem was. "I don't like you," Emma reluctantly admitted when Britt pushed for an answer. "Well, guess what sister? I don't like you either," Britt shot back. Emma was startled, but didn't reply, so Britt demanded to know if Emma had heard her. "Yeah, you don't like me," Emma quietly answered. "No, I don't, but I guess that makes us even because you don't like me either." Britt said. Britt suggested that they get used to each other because Britt and Patrick would be together for "a very long time." Britt insisted that she and Emma were stuck with each other, but that they both wanted Patrick to be happy. "I want Sabrina," Emma argued. Britt made it clear that she didn't care; Sabrina was history, so Emma needed to get over it. Britt decided to go to the restroom, so she advised Emma to wrap Emma's "tiny mind" around the fact that Sabrina was no longer in the picture, but Britt was. Emma looked heartbroken and on the verge of tears as Britt walked away. A short time later, Patrick entered the diner as Britt returned from the restroom. Britt smiled at Patrick and asked about his phone call, but Patrick demanded to know where Emma was. Britt explained that she had gone to the restroom, so she had left Emma coloring at the table. Britt looked around as she realized that Emma had vanished. 1/28 Felix caught up with Elizabeth and Sabrina at General Hospital. He overheard Sabina say that she could not spend her life pining over Patrick. Felix told both women that they needed a nurses' night out. Both were reluctant, but Felix was insistent, so Elizabeth and Sabrina agreed to accompany him. Felix arrived with Elizabeth and Sabrina in tow. When Felix spotted Milo, whom he had met in the gym where both had been working out, he made a beeline for him. Felix quickly paired Elizabeth off with Max and introduced Sabrina to Spinelli. Felix offered to buy Milo a drink. Milo accepted, and they went to a nearby table. Spinelli said that he would not be very good company because his thoughts were with another. Sabrina said that she felt the same way. They shared their sad tales of woe. When Sabrina asked what had happened between Ellie and Spinelli, Lulu overheard when Spinelli said that he had told Ellie the truth about having sex with Maxie on New Year's Eve. Lulu turned to Maxie and asked, "How could you?" Maxie was appalled that Spinelli had told. Lulu wanted to know if that was what Dr. Westbourne had been trying to tell them. Sabrina called for a cab, but when she found that there was an hour's wait, she decided to find another way home and left the Haunted Star without telling anyone. Felix told Elizabeth that his gaydar needed adjusting, and she told him that Max was mobbed up and had been a bodyguard to her former boyfriend. Felix apologized and offered to make it up to her, but Elizabeth said that the evening had been fun anyway. Both wondered what had happened to Sabrina. Patrick was frantic when he realized that Emma was no longer in Kelly's, after leaving her at a table with Britt while he took an important consulting call outside. He seemed angry with Britt, who had left Emma alone at the table for a brief period while Britt used the ladies' room. As Patrick searched the perimeter of the café, he ran into Anna, who immediately mobilized a search and put out an amber alert. Anna asked if anything had recently upset Emma. Patrick said that perhaps Emma was a little taken aback by the new woman in his life, but he thought that they were working it out. Britt remembered how mean she had been to Emma just before leaving Emma alone while Britt used the ladies' room. Britt lied when Anna asked Britt if anything had happened to upset Emma. When Anna left to direct the search, Britt soothed Patrick and told him that everything would be okay. Patrick told Britt that he did not blame her for Emma's disappearance. Anna returned and told Patrick that there was still no sign of Emma. She asked him if there was anyone that Emma might turn to for help. Patrick thought of Sabrina. He called her but got no answer because Sabrina had left her phone on the bar of the Haunted Star. As Sabrina walked through the fog on the docks, she heard a noise. When Sabrina checked it out, she found a tearful Emma crouching in the shadows. 1/29 Sabrina was alarmed when she spotted Emma on the pier, so she asked Emma what Emma was doing there. "Feeding the ducks," Emma answered, but Sabrina knew that there was more to the story. Sabrina wondered if Patrick knew where Emma was, so Emma confessed that he didn't. Sabrina quickly shed her coat and draped it around Emma and then decided to call Patrick. However, she soon realized that she had left her phone on the Haunted Star. Sabrina asked Emma where Patrick was, but Emma didn't want to say because Patrick was "with her." Sabrina figured out that Emma had been referring to Britt, so she continued to question Emma. Eventually, Emma revealed that Britt was mean and had told Emma that she didn't like her. Sabrina was shocked that Britt would say something like that to Emma. Sabrina hugged Emma and then explained that Emma was the most important person in the world to Patrick, so Sabrina was certain that he was worried about Emma. Finally, Emma admitted that Patrick was at Kelly's. At Kelly's, Patrick was frantic with worry about his missing daughter, so Anna wondered who Emma might go to. Patrick admitted that Emma had been close to Sabrina, prompting Anna to urge him to call Sabrina. Patrick reached Sabrina's voicemail, so he explained that Emma was missing and implored her to call him back. Anna stepped outside to check in with the police, while Britt suggested that perhaps Emma had gone to a friend's house. Patrick decided to make some phone calls, but he feared that someone had taken his daughter because he couldn't imagine Emma leaving on her own, especially without telling him. Patrick wondered if anything had happened between Britt and Emma while he had been outside on the phone. Britt thought about the exchange of words that she'd had with Emma but assured Patrick that Emma hadn't given any indication that something had been wrong. Outside of Kelly's, Mac was eager to know if Anna had an update about Emma. "No," Anna replied, on the verge of tears. Mac revealed that Felicia was at Patrick's house, waiting, in case Emma had been headed home. Mac wanted to help, so Anna explained that an APB had been issued, and officers were combing the streets. Anna felt as if she were about to fall apart, so Mac assured Anna that if anyone could find Emma, it was Anna. Mac and Anna returned to the diner to check on Patrick. Patrick was beside himself with worry and regret that he hadn't kept a closer eye on his daughter. Anna and Mac insisted that it wasn't Patrick's fault and suggested that they keep a clear head. Patrick decided to get in his car to search for his daughter. He stopped short when Sabrina entered Kelly's with Emma in her arms. Overjoyed, Patrick rushed to his daughter and swept her out of Sabrina's arms to hug Emma tightly. Britt watched nervously as Mac and Anna joined the happy family reunion. Sabrina stood in the doorway, glaring at Britt, but didn't say anything. Anna called the police department to call off the search, so Patrick asked Sabrina how Sabrina had found Emma. Sabrina explained that Emma had gone to a place on the piers where she and Emma had fed the ducks. Patrick was relieved that his daughter had been found, prompting Britt to assure Emma she had been worried about Emma too. Patrick gently scolded Emma for leaving without a word and then asked why Emma had left. Emma looked up at Britt who subtly shook her head in warning. Sabrina noticed. "Emma says it was because of you," Sabrina told Britt accusingly. Anna and Mac decided to take Emma to the kitchen for hot chocolate before things turned ugly. Patrick waited until Emma was gone and then asked Sabrina what Emma had said. Sabrina was certain that Emma would tell Patrick, but Patrick wanted to hear from Sabrina. Britt suggested that she and Patrick discuss it privately, but Patrick waited for Sabrina to answer. Sabrina explained that Britt had told Emma that Britt didn't like Emma. Britt claimed that it was a crazy accusation and asked why Britt would say that to a child. Sabrina admitted that she had wondered the same thing. Britt insisted that Emma had made the story up and then accused Emma of having a vivid imagination. Patrick ignored Britt as he asked Sabrina if Sabrina had thought that Emma had made it up. "No, I don't," Sabrina answered. "I think Emma was telling the truth," Sabrina added. Britt feigned hurt that Sabrina would attack her like that. Britt demanded to know if Patrick intended to take Sabrina's word over Britt's. Before Patrick could answer, Anna and Mac returned from the kitchen with Emma. Anna suggested that Patrick take Emma home because Emma was exhausted. Britt offered to go with Patrick and Emma, but Patrick turned her down. Emma thanked Sabrina for finding her, so Sabrina hugged Emma tightly and reiterated that she was happy that Emma was safe. Patrick thanked Sabrina and left without a glance or goodbye to Britt. Britt was furious, so she warned Sabrina not to think about ruining what Britt and Patrick had, or Sabrina would regret it. Sabrina claimed that she couldn't care less about Britt and Patrick's relationship, but if Britt hurt Emma, then Britt would be the one to regret it. 1/31 At the hospital, Britt left Patrick a voicemail message explaining that they needed to talk. She was surprised when she bumped into Patrick as she ended the call, so she sheepishly admitted that she had left him another message. Patrick was distant when he assured her that he had received her other messages. Britt wondered how Emma was doing, but Patrick questioned her sincerity. Britt insisted that Emma's disappearance had been the worst moment of her life and promised that she would never be so petty as to tell a little girl that she didn't like her. Patrick wondered if Britt was implying that Emma had made the story up. "Maybe," Britt replied. She asked Patrick to consider the possibility that Emma had been upset because Patrick and Britt had taken Emma out on her first family outing since Robin had died. She carefully advised him not to put too much faith in what a little girl had said, but he reminded her that Sabrina had confirmed Emma's story. Britt insisted that she and Patrick needed to present a united front to assure Emma that Britt didn't intend to replace Robin and that Patrick and Britt were together. Patrick conceded that it had been a difficult time for Emma, so Emma's brief disappearance might have been a sign of something much deeper than he had realized. Patrick promised Britt that he hadn't believed that she had intentionally hurt his daughter. Britt's face lit with joy as she threw her arms around him. At the nurses' station, Elizabeth was curious what Sabrina planned to do with the stack of files that Sabrina was holding. Sabrina dumped them on the counter and explained that she had been ordered to enter the information into the database. Elizabeth wondered who would give Sabrina such a menial task. "One guess" Sabrina replied as she and Elizabeth spotted Patrick and Britt in a deep conversation. Sabrina was disappointed when Britt suddenly hugged Patrick because it was clear that he had taken Britt's word over Sabrina's and, more importantly, over Emma's. Sabrina ditched Elizabeth when she noticed that Patrick and Britt were headed to the nurses' station. Patrick saw the stack of files, so he asked what was up with them. Elizabeth started to answer, but Britt cut her off by claiming that Epiphany had assigned Sabrina a job that Britt thought was a waste of Sabrina's talent. Moments later, Sabrina returned. It was clear that something was troubling Sabrina, so Patrick asked her what was wrong. Sabrina revealed that the bank had called to notify her that a stop payment had been put on Tracy's check for the Nurses' Ball. Patrick wondered why, so Elizabeth showed him the newspaper reporting the ELQ scandal. Britt explained that ELQ had been involved in a serious financial scandal, so it appeared that the Nurses' Ball was over before it had started. Elizabeth sent Britt to consult with a patient and then told Sabrina and Patrick that there might be a way to turn things around for the Nurses' Ball. Elizabeth asked them to cover for her and then took her break to run a quick errand. After Elizabeth left, Sabrina asked Patrick about Emma. Patrick assured her that Emma was fine, but he feared that she might have lied to Sabrina about Britt. "You think so?" Sabrina asked, stunned. "Yeah, I do," Patrick answered. He explained that he and Britt had taken Emma out for Emma's first family outing since Robin had died. Patrick suspected that it had been confusing to Emma, which had led Emma to run away. After Patrick walked away, Sabrina rolled her eyes and resumed working on the files. Britt returned to dump more files on the pile and asked where Patrick was. Sabrina told her that he had been paged, so Britt took the opportunity to set some things straight with Sabrina. Britt conceded that Sabrina's attempt to blame Britt for Emma's vanishing act had been a nice try. However, Patrick finally knew the truth; his perfect little girl wasn't so perfect after all. Sabrina reminded Britt that all children acted out, but Britt didn't care. "Listen to me, you pathetic interloper. I'm going to tell you what I told Emma yesterday. I'm not going anywhere," Britt growled. Britt assured Sabrina that Britt and Patrick would be together for a long time and that there was nothing that Sabrina or "his spoiled brat of a daughter" could do about it. Britt flashed a smug smile and turned around. She immediately froze when she saw that Patrick had been standing close enough to hear her parting words to Sabrina. 2/1 At the nurses' station, Britt vowed that she wasn't going anywhere, so there was nothing that Sabrina or Patrick's "spoiled brat of a daughter" could do about it. Britt smiled smugly and then turned to leave, but Patrick blocked her path. Britt's smile faltered as she asked how long Patrick had been standing there. "Long enough," Patrick coldly replied. Britt immediately tried to spin things, but Patrick warned her that he had heard her refer to his daughter as a spoiled brat. Britt conceded that she had been defensive, but she insisted that Patrick had misunderstood her. Sabrina tried to leave, but Patrick asked Sabrina to stay because he wanted her to hear what he had to say to Britt. Patrick was disgusted that he had defended Britt and had taken her word over Sabrina and Emma's word. Patrick explained that Emma was the most important person in the world to him, so he vowed to never doubt Emma again. Britt thought that Patrick was overreacting, so she asked him to hear her out. Patrick pointed out that he'd already given her an opportunity to talk earlier when they had agreed that perhaps their relationship might have confused Emma. Patrick realized that what had confused Emma had been the idea that he would date someone who didn't like his daughter. Britt denied that she had said that, but Patrick accused her of lying. Patrick assured Britt that she didn't have to like Emma, but he expected Britt to treat his child with respect and kindness because Emma was the child and Britt was the adult. Britt claimed that she had, but Patrick argued that Britt had made Emma feel so unwanted that Emma had run away. Britt couldn't understand why Patrick was determined to blame her for everything. Patrick and Sabrina were shocked when Britt suddenly accused Sabrina of turning Emma against Britt and implied that Sabrina had told Emma ditch Britt. Outraged, Sabrina made it clear that she would never encourage a child to run away. Britt implored Patrick not to throw away what they had, but Patrick refused to be with someone who didn't care about his daughter. Britt was stunned that Patrick had ended their relationship over one disagreement. Patrick explained that he wasn't the right guy for her and that they were at different places in their lives, so it was for the best. Britt disagreed, but Patrick wanted to walk away before things became too serious. Britt argued that it was too late for that because they'd had sex. Britt resented not having a say in the matter, but Patrick decided that they should only have a professional relationship. Britt's temper flared as she turned her wrath on Sabrina. "This is your fault, you little bitch," Britt growled as she grabbed Sabrina's arm. Patrick was stunned by Britt behavior, so he warned her that she couldn't talk to people like that. Britt insisted that Sabrina had manipulated Emma to get Britt out of the way because Sabrina wanted Patrick for herself. After Britt stormed off, Patrick apologized for dragging Sabrina into his mess. Sabrina confessed that she was used to Britt treating her like that. Patrick felt foolish because everyone had warned him about Britt, but he hadn't listened. Sabrina was startled when Patrick suddenly asked, "So, what is this thing about Britt accusing you of wanting me for yourself?" 2/4 At General Hospital, Patrick sought confirmation from Sabrina that Britt's accusations, that Sabrina wanted Patrick for herself, were silly and out of line. Before Sabrina could answer, Elizabeth interrupted. Sabrina quickly switched the subject to the Nurses' Ball and wanted to know if Elizabeth had been successful at getting Tracy's check unfrozen. Both Patrick and Sabrina were disappointed when Elizabeth said that she had not. Neither Elizabeth not Patrick was discouraged. Both expressed confidence that Sabrina would find a way to save the day, and Sabrina exuded confidence in her ability to do so. When Patrick was called away for a phone consult, Sabrina told Elizabeth that Patrick had dumped Dr. Westbourne after hearing Britt call Patrick's daughter Emma a "spoiled brat." Both were laughing. Sabrina was worried because Britt had told Patrick that Sabrina wanted Patrick for herself. Elizabeth encouraged Sabrina to take the opportunity to let Patrick know that she did have feelings for him, but Sabrina was unsure. Sabrina said that just because Patrick had broken up with Britt did not mean that he would be interested in her. Elizabeth replied that Sabrina would never know until she tried. Patrick finished his phone call and confirmed the breakup. He said that it was probably the time when Elizabeth should say, "I told you so." Elizabeth responded that she would not say that, but that Sabrina did have something to say to him. 2/5 At the hospital, Britt threatened to call Lulu and Dante to let the unwitting couple know that Maxie was carrying Spinelli's baby. Maxie reluctantly agreed to help Britt if Britt promised to keep quiet about Maxie's secret. Britt smiled with satisfaction as she explained that she expected Maxie to help destroy Sabrina. Maxie thought that she had misheard, so Britt clarified, "Destroy. Demolish. Annihilate." Britt vowed that nothing would be left of Sabrina except for the "rat's nest" that Sabrina called hair. Maxie couldn't understand why Britt would go after the young nurse, so Britt accused Sabrina of being a "conniving bitch" who had filled Emma's head with lies about Britt. Britt insisted that Sabrina had used Emma to get to Patrick, but Maxie looked skeptical. Britt called Sabrina a "manipulative social climber" and claimed that Sabrina had made a habit of latching onto the nearest doctor in the hopes of finding a man to financially support Sabrina. According to Britt, Sabrina had initially been fixated on Steve. Maxie argued that everyone knew that Steve and Olivia were an item. "Exactly," Britt replied and added that it hadn't stopped Sabrina. Britt continued to make outrageous accusations about Sabrina until Maxie finally began to believe the lies. Maxie hoped that Britt opened Patrick's eyes to Sabrina's evil ways, but Britt made it clear that she expected Maxie to do the dirty work. Maxie objected, so Britt called Lulu and offered to tell Lulu something about the baby. Maxie panicked and agreed to help Britt, so Britt assured Lulu that Maxie's exam had been fine and ended the call. "So, we understand each other?" Britt asked Maxie. "Yes," Maxie quietly replied. Britt promised to get in touch with Maxie when Britt devised the perfect plan. However, she warned Maxie not to talk to anyone about their arrangement. Olivia smiled when she entered the hospital's locker room because she had heard Steve singing in the shower. Her smile quickly disappeared when she rounded the corner and saw Steve serenading Sabrina in the shower. Olivia accused Sabrina of being a "mousey little skank" and stormed out. Confused, Steve grabbed a towel and called out to Olivia, but she ignored him. Patrick joined Elizabeth and Sabrina at the nurses' station. He assumed that Sabrina had filled Elizabeth in on what had happened with Britt. Patrick was certain that news of his and Britt's breakup would travel quickly through the hospital. Patrick waited for Elizabeth to tell him, "I told you so," but Elizabeth surprised him by announcing that Sabrina had something to tell him. Sabrina's eyes rounded with embarrassment as Patrick looked at her expectantly. Moments later, Olivia walked up and ordered Sabrina to stay away from Steve because he was engaged. Sabrina had no idea what Olivia was talking about, so Olivia explained that she had seen Sabrina and Steve "getting up close and personal" in the shower. Elizabeth wondered when Olivia had seen the encounter. "Just now," Olivia answered. Elizabeth gently suggested that it had been a vision because Sabrina had been on duty for hours. Olivia had known that it had been a vision; however, her visions had never been wrong, which meant that it could happen. Olivia noticed Elizabeth and Patrick exchange a knowing look, so she demanded to know what was going on. Moments later, Steve arrived and asked why Olivia had rushed off. Olivia told him about her vision, which prompted another exchange of guilty glances between Elizabeth, Patrick, and Steve. Olivia wanted answers, so Steve admitted that months earlier, Britt had revealed that Sabrina had had a crush on him. Sabrina assured Olivia that it had long since passed when Sabrina had realized that Steve was in love with Olivia. Olivia seemed satisfied with the answer, so she and Steve left. At the nurses' station, Patrick felt bad for Sabrina. He regretted that he hadn't noticed how badly Britt had treated her. Patrick thought that Sabrina had been a better friend to him than he had been to her, but he appreciated how wonderful Sabrina had been to him and Emma. Patrick realized, thanks to Britt, that he wasn't ready date and shouldn't look for that special someone at work. He then asked what Sabrina had been about to tell him before Olivia had interrupted. Sabrina claimed that she had regretted not being around for Emma, so she had changed her mind about babysitting. Patrick argued that it had been his responsibility to protect his daughter and declined using Sabrina as a babysitter. He considered Sabrina a friend, so he'd rather schedule outings for Sabrina, Emma, and him. Sabrina smiled and accepted. After Patrick walked away, Elizabeth tried to cheer her friend up because it was clear that Patrick wasn't interested in romance with anyone. Sabrina assured Elizabeth that friendship was enough. Britt caught up with Patrick at the elevator and quickly apologized for the way that she had reacted when he had ended their relationship. She assured him that she had accepted his decision and promised not to let things get tense or difficult between them. "Okay," Patrick said as the elevator door opened. After Patrick left, Britt glared at Sabrina and smiled with malicious intent. 2/11 Caleb sat on the docks next to Officer Carlson's body, holding the weapon that he had used to stab both Alison Barrington and Carlson. As he savored the smell of the blood, Sabrina arrived on the scene and asked what had happened. Caleb, whom Sabrina assumed to be John McBain, pretended ignorance of the crime. Sabrina noticed that Carlson was still alive and rushed to him. She tried to stop the blood flow with her scarf and started CPR. When she turned to ask for help, Caleb was gone. Sabrina called 911 and told Carlson to hang on because help was on the way. Britt was waiting for Maxie as she got off the elevator at GH and threatened to reveal that Maxie's baby did not belong to Lulu and Dante unless Maxie helped Britt destroy Sabrina's career and chances of ever becoming a medical professional. Patrick appeared and wanted to know what Britt was saying about Sabrina. Britt covered, but Patrick was cold to her and warned Maxie that Britt had done something to Emma. He stopped short of telling what had happened, but offered to find another doctor for Maxie. After Patrick walked away, Maxie was reluctant to continue the intrigue with Britt, but Britt swore that she liked Emma and that it was Sabrina and her machinations that had turned both Emma and Patrick against Britt. Britt told Maxie that she would reveal all unless Maxie helped her destroy Sabrina and ruin any chance that Sabrina had to earn a degree or have a career in medicine. When Sabrina arrived with Officer Carlson, Britt told Maxie that it was her opportunity and told Maxie what to do. Maxie was reluctant because Dante had also arrived, but Britt was insistent as she walked away. Maxie mumbled that Dr. Evil had made everything worse. Patrick and Sabrina worked to save Officer Carlson. Patrick ordered Sabrina to inject medications into the I.V. solution while Dante tried to get information from Carlson. Carlson passed away. Dante questioned Sabrina about what she had seen on the docks, Maxie slipped into the treatment bay with Carlson's body and followed Britt's orders. Sabrina told Dante that she had found McBain next to the body and that McBain had disappeared without calling 911. Maxie told Britt that she had done as Britt had asked. As the duplicitous duo watched, Patrick and Sabrina commiserated over losing a patient, whom both thought should not have died. As Sabrina cleaned up the area, she found a used medication vial and cried, "Oh, no." Patrick looked at it and said that Sabrina had administered the wrong medication to Carlson. 2/12 Britt stood on the second-floor landing and watched Sabrina and Patrick at the nurses' station. Sabrina was distraught when she read the newspaper about John McBain's arrest for killing Officer Carlson because she had been the one who had made an error with the medication that had led to the police officer's death. Sabrina insisted that she had read the label on the medication three times, so she had no idea how the mix-up had occurred. Meanwhile, Britt received a text message from Maxie that read, "I hate what you made me do to Sabrina. We both know it wasn't her fault!" Britt smiled with satisfaction and turned her attention back to Sabrina and Patrick as Patrick advised Sabrina to talk to Steve about what had happened. Sabrina was reluctant, but Patrick reminded her that it was protocol. Sabrina feared that Steve would fire her, but Patrick argued that Steve was a good guy who wouldn't judge her. Patrick offered to accompany Sabrina to explain things to Steve, so Sabrina agreed. Patrick and Sabrina walked up. Olivia wasn't thrilled but stepped away so that Steve could talk to Patrick and Sabrina privately. Patrick and Sabrina told Steve about the mistake with the medications, so Steve advised Sabrina not to jump to conclusions until the autopsy report confirmed whether or not Officer Carlson had received the wrong medication. Steve explained that he had put a rush on the autopsy, so he expected the report shortly. Patrick was certain that the autopsy report would clear Sabrina of any wrongdoing. At the nurses' station, a lab tech asked Britt where Steve was because the lab tech had the results of an autopsy that Steve had requested. Britt flirted with the lab tech and ascertained that he was new. She persuaded Brad to let her take a peek at the results, so he reluctantly handed them to her. Britt took the folder and walked away with them under the guise of reading them. Moments later, she returned to the nurses' station, handed the autopsy results to Brad, and then pointed to Steve, who was in deep conversation with Patrick and Sabrina. Britt smiled as she watched Brad hand Steve the autopsy results. Steve quickly scanned report and then softly told Sabrina, "I'm sorry." Sabrina began to cry as Steve revealed that Sabrina had given the patient the wrong medication. Sabrina took off in tears as Patrick asked Steve to give Sabrina a break. According to Patrick, the patient had been almost dead by the time the medication had been administered. Patrick reminded Steve that Sabrina was only a student nurse, so the error could ruin her career. Steve explained that he had to write Sabrina up and left. Moments later, Britt approached Patrick. She pretended to surmise, based on Sabrina's emotional outburst and Patrick's solemn expression, that the rumors that Sabrina had killed Patrick's patient were true. "It's horrible for everyone involved," Britt clucked, but Patrick glared at her and walked away. Despite Patrick's reaction, Britt smiled with satisfaction. Sabrina apologized to Patrick for having run off earlier. Patrick felt bad for Sabrina, so he tried to ease her concerns by confessing that getting written up was kind of a right of passage. Sabrina feared that the fatality on her record would end her nursing career before it had started. She then realized how selfish that had sounded because a man had died. Patrick insisted that Sabrina had done everything possible to help Officer Carlson, but the police officer had been bleeding out, so medication would not have made a difference. Sabrina argued that they would never know that for certain. 2/18 At the apartment, Maxie was on the phone with Britt. Maxie wondered if Britt had any friends with whom Britt could spend Valentine's Day instead of bothering Maxie. Maxie couldn't imagine what more Britt could want, since Maxie had helped Britt destroy Sabrina's credibility. Maxie thought that they had done enough to ruin Sabrina's life, but Britt appeared to want more. At the nurse’s station, Sabrina picked up a Valentine's Day candy from a dish, which read, "You are cute." "How about, 'You are a murderer'?" Sabrina sniped. Felix had heard enough of Sabrina's self-pity, so he insisted on taking her to a party. Sabrina refused, but Felix ignored her. Sabrina explained that she couldn't understand how she had mixed up the medication because she had been careful to read the label on the vial. Felix pointed out that Patrick had explained that the patient had been beyond saving so nothing would have changed what had happened. Sabrina was unsettled when she noticed Dante at the bar. Felix urged Sabrina to let it go, but Sabrina argued that Dante had been the police officer who had questioned her about Officer Carlson. Sabrina wanted to leave, but Felix refused to let her flee. Sabrina decided that that her only recourse was to confess to killing Officer Carlson. Felix warned Sabrina that she would open the hospital to numerous lawsuits, which could destroy General Hospital, so it was best to let the hospital handle things. Later, Sabrina was sitting at the bar, deep in thought, when Maxie walked up to check on Sabrina. Sabrina revealed that things weren't okay because Sabrina had killed a police officer. Felix overheard Sabrina's remark, so he immediately stepped forward and blamed it on the spiked punch. Sabrina denied that she'd had any punch, but Felix dragged her away. Maxie eavesdropped as Felix stopped in a quiet corner to scold Sabrina. Felix insisted that Sabrina couldn't go around telling people that she had killed someone without serious consequences. Sabrina reminded Felix that she had been responsible for Officer Carlson's death because of the mistake with the medications. Maxie listened as Sabrina wept, overwhelmed by the guilt of causing the death of a man who'd had three children. Felix held Sabrina and then led her onto the dance floor to try to cheer her up. Frisco immediately sensed that Maxie was troubled, so Maxie urged him not to bother getting to know her because she wasn't worth it. Frisco wanted to know what Maxie had done. 2/19 At the Haunted Star, Felix decided to fetch Sabrina a drink to cheer her up, but Sabrina tearfully explained that she couldn't enjoy the evening, knowing that she had been responsible for the death of a man. Felix offered to take Sabrina home, but she decided to return to the hospital to check if she had been expelled from nursing school. Felix insisted on accompanying her, but Sabrina assured him that it wasn't necessary. Felix argued that she was his date and a friend, neither of which he ever abandoned. Frisco wanted to know what was going on with Maxie, but Maxie asked her father to drop it. Frisco refused and reminded her that she could trust him because he was on her side. Maxie pointed to Sabrina and confessed that she had ruined Sabrina's life by making it appear that Sabrina had administered the wrong medication to a patient who had died. Frisco was curious why Maxie had done it, so Maxie blamed it on being a terrible person. Frisco claimed that it had been his experience that even terrible people had motives for what they did. "My doctor hates her," Maxie revealed. Frisco wondered if Maxie's doctor was a friend, so Maxie clarified that she despised her doctor. Frisco was even more baffled as to why Maxie had agreed to help the doctor. Maxie was forced to confess that Britt had blackmailed Maxie because Maxie had made a horrible mistake. Frisco assured Maxie that nothing was unforgivable. Maxie reluctantly revealed that she had miscarried Dante and Lulu's baby and then had had a one-night stand with Spinelli within hours of the miscarriage. Frisco was surprised when Maxie admitted that she was pregnant with Spinelli's baby, not Dante and Lulu's child. Maxie explained that she had decided to keep quiet about the baby because Spinelli had reconciled with Ellie, who genuinely cared about Spinelli. According to Maxie, Britt had used the information to force Maxie to sabotage Sabrina's life. Frisco assured Maxie that Maxie wasn't a bad person, since she had sacrificed her own happiness for the sake of others. Maxie began to sob, so Frisco held his daughter. Later, Maxie sniffled as she revealed that she had been at peace with her decision to give her baby to Dante and Lulu until Britt had decided to blackmail Maxie. Maxie regretted what she had done to Sabrina, so Frisco promised to take care of everything. He reminded her that he had experience with dirty tricks. At the hospital, Britt folded a letter and then slid it into an envelope with Sabrina's name scribbled on it. Nearby, Patrick thanked a nurse for keeping an eye on Emma. The nurse assured him that it was fine and that she'd had a wonderful time watching Emma make Valentine's Day cards. Emma handed one of the cards to Patrick and revealed that she had another one for Sabrina. After the nurse left, Emma wondered if Sabrina was Patrick's Valentine. Patrick smiled as he informed his daughter that Emma was his only Valentine. Emma suddenly tensed when she spotted Britt. Emma warned her father that "that mean lady" was headed their way. Patrick promised that he and Emma could leave, but Britt asked to speak to Emma. Emma glared at Britt, who knelt down to apologize for their "misunderstanding" and then assured Emma that she liked Emma and cared about Patrick. "Do you accept my apology?" Britt asked. Emma ran off, so Patrick called out to his daughter. Emma ran straight into Sabrina's arms as Sabrina and Felix exited the elevator. Britt insisted that she hadn't done anything wrong by trying to make peace with Emma, but Patrick ignored Britt and followed his daughter. Emma confessed that she was frightened as she clung tightly to Sabrina. Patrick explained that Britt had tried to apologize to Emma, but Emma had wanted no part of it. Britt barely suppressed her rage as she stood behind Patrick. Sabrina assured Emma that Emma would always be safe with her father, but Emma refused to let go of Sabrina. Felix tried to cheer Emma up by presenting her with a sparkling wand that had a heart on the tip. Felix explained that the wand was magic, so Emma was curious if she could make Britt disappear with it. Patrick asked Britt to give them some privacy, but Britt refused to budge because she claimed that she needed to speak to Sabrina. Felix invited Emma to go with him to the nurses' Valentine's Day party in the break room, so Emma agreed. "Poof, you're gone," Emma said as she waved the wand at Britt and then followed Felix into the elevator. Patrick made it clear that Britt was never to speak to his daughter again. Britt suggested that Emma would become an out of control child if he continued to let Emma have free reign and allow the child to be so openly rude to adults. Patrick reiterated that Britt was to keep her distance from Emma, so Britt agreed, since Patrick was determined to misinterpret everything that Britt did. Britt admitted that she had written Monica a letter about Sabrina, so she handed Sabrina a copy of the letter and advised Sabrina to read it. Sabrina read the letter aloud to Patrick. The scathing letter accused Sabrina of an "egregious error" that had resulted in the death of a decorated police officer. Britt went on to claim that Sabrina had demonstrated gross incompetence and "hideously unprofessional" behavior while working with Britt. Patrick was outraged on Sabrina's behalf, but Britt was unapologetic as she ordered Sabrina to keep reading and then walked away. The letter continued to blast Sabrina by suggesting that Sabrina was "slovenly" and "frequently distracted" by a crush for a respected surgeon on staff. Mortified, Sabrina was at a loss for words. Patrick was livid and insisted that Britt hadn't had the right to badmouth Sabrina. Patrick had seen Sabrina with patients, so he knew that she had never made a mistake. Patrick was determined that Sabrina would not only graduate from nursing school, but that she would remain on staff. Moments later, Patrick cheered Sabrina up by giving her the Valentine's Day card that Emma had made for her. Britt entered the examination room and demanded to know what Maxie wanted. Britt could tell by Maxie's expression that Maxie was in crisis. Frisco slammed the door closed and smiled menacingly as he introduced himself. Frisco made it clear that Britt's little game was over and that he would not permit her to continue to blackmail Maxie. Frisco also expected Britt to clean up the mess with Sabrina. Britt was curious why she should, so Frisco revealed that he was a "fixer" who was paid to kill the bad guys. According to Frisco, Britt appeared to be one of those bad guys. 2/23 Sabrina went to the chapel to think and found Patrick there. She expressed her sympathies about Robin and asked after Emma. Patrick said that they had fed the squirrels, a tradition Robin had started that he was continuing. Sabrina approved and said that Emma was lucky to have a dad like Patrick. Patrick said that he was lucky to have Emma and all the friends that had been there for them. Patrick noticed that Sabrina was very subdued. She told him about crashing into Steve. Patrick commiserated with Sabrina about the inquiry, but Sabrina said that she could not stop thinking about Officer Carlson and his family. Sabrina admitted that she had gone to his memorial service. Sabrina said that she could not help but feel responsible for a good man's death. Patrick told Sabrina that those kinds of things happened. Sabrina said that they did not happen to everyone. She said that they had not happened to the nurse who was her role model. As Patrick questioned Sabrina, he learned that Sabrina's mom had been her hero and that Sabrina's mother had passed away when Sabrina had been Emma's age. Sabrina told Patrick that her father had not been strong like Patrick and that instead of keeping Sabrina with him after her mother's death, he had sent Sabrina to Puerto Rico to live with cousins. Patrick sympathized as Sabrina showed him the stethoscope that she wore that had once belonged to her mother. Sabrina recalled that whenever she had said that she wanted to be a nurse just like her mother, Sabrina's mother had always responded that Sabrina could be anything she wanted. Her mother had always told Sabrina that her heart would let her know what she really wanted to do, then it would be up to Sabrina to make her dreams real. Patrick agreed with the sentiments. He told Sabrina that she could do anything. He said that she had resurrected the Nurses' Ball and that Sabrina would do the same things with her own dreams. A subdued Sabrina thanked Patrick for his support. Patrick encouraged Sabrina to have faith in herself like Sabrina's mother did and like Patrick did. Sabrina offered to leave Patrick alone so he could light a candle for Robin, but he suggested that they both stay and light candles, one for Robin and one for Sabrina's mother. Sabrina agreed. 3/1 At the hospital, Sabrina was about to help herself to a doughnut when Patrick appeared in the doorway and informed her that the doughnuts were for the Narcotics Anonymous meeting. Embarrassed, Sabrina pulled her hand out of the box and apologized. Patrick chuckled and assured her that she wasn't the first staff member to sneak a doughnut; Steve was notorious for taking them. Sabrina confessed that she was nervous about the hospital's verdict on her future, but Patrick was confident that the board would vote in her favor. "Afraid you killed your career?" Britt snidely asked Sabrina from the doorway. Britt leaned on a set of crutches as she held up an envelope and announced that the board had made a decision. "Want to know what it is?" Britt wondered. Patrick was curious about Britt's injury, so she revealed that she had slipped in the parking lot. Britt was annoyed by Patrick's lack of sympathy, so Patrick explained that he didn't wish Britt any misfortune, but it was a shame that she couldn't extend the same to others. "And here I am trying to do a nice thing," Britt replied without a hint of sincerity. Patrick snatched the envelope out of Britt's hand and gave it to Sabrina. However, he questioned how Britt had ended up with the letter. Britt explained that she had been called to testify after the board had read her letter, so she had been on hand when the board had rendered its decision.
According to Britt, Monica had given Britt the envelope to pass along to Sabrina when Monica had been called in to surgery. Sabrina read the letter aloud. Britt was stunned when the board cleared Sabrina of any wrongdoing in Officer Carlson's death, which had been ruled "accidental." Sabrina was overjoyed, but Britt insisted that the board had only absolved Sabrina to avoid a lawsuit. Patrick warned Britt to back off, so Britt barred Sabrina from all of Britt's patients. Britt advised Patrick to consider doing the same. After Britt left, Patrick promised that Sabrina would get to be a nurse like her mother. Frisco became distracted when he spotted Britt. Maxie noticed that Britt was on crutches, so she wondered what had happened. "Maybe she's clumsy," Frisco suggested. Maxie immediately suspected that her father had had something to do with Britt's accident, but decided to walk away rather than find out if her suspicions were warranted. Frisco approached Britt and greeted her. Britt immediately accused him of causing her to fall. Frisco offered her a saccharine smile as he reminded her that accidents happened, especially to people with bad karma. Britt argued that she had left Maxie alone, so they were done. "It's over when I say so, Toots," Frisco warned her. Britt demanded to know what he wanted, so Frisco reminded her of Sabrina. Britt told Frisco that the board had cleared Sabrina, but Frisco refused to leave Britt alone until he was certain that she wouldn't tell anyone about Maxie's baby. Britt assured him that he had her word that she wouldn't say anything, but Frisco wasn't satisfied. She wondered what else she could do to make him believe her. He promised to let her know and left. A short distance away, Patrick watched Frisco walk away. Moments later, Patrick approached Britt. Britt assumed that Sabrina had complained to Patrick about her, so she assured Patrick that she had left Sabrina alone. Patrick was curious what Britt had done to anger Frisco. Britt claimed that Frisco wasn't happy about the circumstances of Maxie's pregnancy. Patrick confessed that he didn't like the way she treated people, so Britt assured him that she was no longer a threat to Sabrina. Britt limped away as Sabrina walked up. "What was that about?" Sabrina asked. "I'm not sure," Patrick quietly replied. A short time later, Patrick and Sabrina saw a group of student nurses congratulating each other. They were surprised when one of the young ladies revealed that the list of graduating student nurses had been posted. Patrick immediately urged Sabrina to check the list, certain that she would be Valedictorian. Sabrina nervously looked at the list. "I'm not graduating?" she asked in shock when she realized that her name wasn't on the list. Nearby, Britt smiled with satisfaction. Sabrina entered to pick up some charts. Olivia thought that it was a good time for Sabrina to understand that Steve was off the market. Steve decided to take the opportunity to let Olivia know that her vision about Steve and Sabrina getting wet together had happened. Olivia quickly recovered from her shock when Steve told her about the incident with the vase that had resulted in Steve being drenched in water. Olivia relaxed, so Sabrina confessed that she'd never had a crush on Steve. Sabrina assured Steve that he was a good-looking man and a fine doctor, but her crush was on another staff member. Olivia was greatly relieved when Sabrina explained how the lie had spiraled out of control, but she urged Sabrina to tell her crush the truth, provided that he wasn't involved with someone else. 3/4 At General Hospital, Felix was deliriously happy to find out that he had graduated from the nursing program and equally stunned when Sabrina said that she had not. Felix was convinced that Sabrina's name had to be on the posted list, so he checked it again. Patrick joined them and agreed with Felix that Sabrina had to have passed the final test. Patrick supported Felix when Felix said that there had to be some kind of mistake. Patrick spotted Britt and said that he might have an answer as to what had caused the mistake. Felix suggested that a clerical error had occurred and volunteered to check it out with head nurse Epiphany. Felix jokingly told Sabrina to send the rescue dogs if he did not return in 15 minutes. Patrick confronted Britt to ask her if she had done anything to prevent Sabrina from graduating. Britt smugly denied that she'd had a hand in Sabrina's failure. Britt said that she had more important things to do than meddle with a lowly nursing student. Britt offered the opinion that perhaps Sabrina had not known the material, or maybe Sabrina had been distracted by her crush on Steve Webber. Patrick defended Sabrina, whom he said was too professional to let personal feelings interfere and too smart to flunk an exam. Patrick declared that he would find out what had happened. Patrick warned Britt that if she had done anything to prevent Sabrina from graduating, it would be Britt, not Sabrina, who would be forced to leave GH. Britt smirked and gave Patrick a knowing smile. Patrick walked away. Sabrina stopped him as he passed by and thanked him for standing up to Britt. Felix returned and told Sabrina that the good news was that Sabrina had passed the exam with flying colors, but the bad news was that Sabrina had been accused of cheating. 3/4 At the hospital, Sabrina denied that she had cheated on her nursing exam. Patrick wanted to find Felix to figure things out, but Sabrina couldn't understand why Epiphany had made the accusation. Epiphany walked up and dropped a heavy box on the counter of the nurses' station. Patrick suggested that he and Sabrina talk to Epiphany directly, so he called out to Epiphany and revealed what Felix had told them. Epiphany insisted that it was true; Sabrina had cheated. Sabrina and Patrick were surprised when Epiphany explained that Sabrina had scored perfectly on the exam, which had never happened. Patrick credited it to Sabrina's hard work, but Epiphany revealed that an anonymous caller had tipped them off that Sabrina had obtained the answers to the test in advance. Patrick scoffed that Epiphany would take the word of someone who hadn't had the courage to give their name. Epiphany explained that a search of Sabrina's locker had yielded the incriminating proof. Patrick immediately claimed that Sabrina had been framed. Epiphany was stunned when Patrick accused Britt because a respected physician wouldn't have any reason to harass a student nurse. Epiphany demanded proof, so Patrick explained that Britt had hounded Sabrina from the beginning and had been furious when Britt's efforts to get Sabrina booted over the mix-up with Officer Carlson's medication had failed. Epiphany argued that it wasn't proof, which meant that Sabrina had to leave the premises immediately. Epiphany handed Sabrina a box containing the contents of Sabrina's locker. Patrick promised Sabrina that he would talk to Britt, but Sabrina warned him that it wouldn't matter because Britt would lie. Sabrina was determined to clear her good name by proving that she hadn't cheated, so she demanded to be given another test under Epiphany's supervision. Sabrina promised to leave without complaint if she didn't answer all of the questions correctly like she had the first time. Patrick thought that it was a brilliant idea, so Epiphany agreed. Relieved, Sabrina promised to wait in the conference room while Epiphany fetched the test. Patrick thanked Epiphany for giving Sabrina a second chance. Epiphany confessed that she had never pegged Sabrina as the type to cheat, so she had been greatly disappointed to find the test answers in Sabrina's locker. Patrick was confident that Sabrina would restore Epiphany's faith in her, so Epiphany broached the subject of Britt. Epiphany confided that she hadn't approved of Britt's attempt to fill Robin's shoes and suggested that Patrick needed someone who had a big enough heart for him and Emma. After Epiphany walked away, Patrick glanced into the conference room where Sabrina waited to take the test. A short time later, Epiphany handed Sabrina the new exam. Sabrina asked Patrick to wish her luck, but Patrick didn't think that she needed it. Sabrina smiled as she watched Patrick leave the room. 3/8 Sabrina approached the nurses' station to ask if Elizabeth had heard anything about Sabrina's test results. Sabrina was startled when she realized that Elizabeth had been crying. Elizabeth explained that Steve had been taken to Memphis to serve out his prison sentence for sacrificing one patient to save another. Elizabeth realized that it had been wrong, but she insisted that Steve didn't deserve to be locked up with hardened criminals who had done far worse than Steve. Sabrina felt bad for her friend, but she admired Steve for owning up to his wrongs. Elizabeth suggested that she and Sabrina follow Steve's lead by not lying anymore. Sabrina agreed, but wondered what she had been lying about. "Patrick. Your feelings for him," Elizabeth answered. Sabrina quickly tried to change the subject, but Elizabeth urged Sabrina to talk to Patrick. Sabrina refused to jeopardize her friendship with Patrick by confessing to feelings that he might not return. Sabrina was certain that Patrick wasn't over Robin, so she doubted that he was ready to get involved with someone. Elizabeth wondered if Sabrina intended to continue pining for a man who had no idea how Sabrina felt. Sabrina glanced down at Elizabeth's phone and noticed that Elizabeth had a message, so she handed the phone to Elizabeth. Sabrina was curious who it was from, so Elizabeth admitted that A.J. had called. Elizabeth stepped aside to listen to the message. Afterwards, Elizabeth confided to Sabrina that A.J. had called to let Elizabeth know that Elizabeth could cancel their lunch date. Sabrina was surprised to hear that her friend had a real date, so she was curious if Elizabeth intended to back out of it. Elizabeth admitted that she was tempted to because she needed to be honest with herself about who A.J. was and who he used to be. Sabrina recalled that Elizabeth had told her that A.J. had changed and that he had been there for Elizabeth during Steve's recent surgery. Elizabeth insisted that she would always be grateful for A.J.'s support, but she didn't know if she could trust him. Elizabeth confessed that she didn't want to be wrong again. Sabrina pointed out that there was always a risk in getting close to someone, so Elizabeth should ask herself if A.J. was worth it. Elizabeth smiled and decided to call A.J. to reschedule their date. Sabrina was happy for her friend and reminded Elizabeth that even if it didn't work out, at least Elizabeth had tried. Elizabeth arched a brow and suggested that Sabrina take her own advice. Eventually, Sabrina agreed to take a chance, so she called Patrick. Sabrina was surprised when Patrick revealed that he was on his way to the hospital. Sabrina told him that she would wait for him because she had something important to tell him. 3/11 With Elizabeth's encouragement, Sabrina phoned Patrick and said that she wanted to talk. Patrick told Sabrina that he was on his way to General Hospital and would see her there. Felix joined Elizabeth and Sabrina. He was thrilled to hear that Elizabeth had convinced Sabrina to tell Patrick how she felt about him. Sabrina said that Elizabeth had given her the courage to make the phone call because Elizabeth had demonstrated her strength by giving A.J. a second chance. Sabrina revealed that she was still waiting for the results of her nursing exam and feared that if she failed, she might never have another opportunity to tell Patrick how she felt about him. When Felix asked if Sabrina would chicken out when the time actually arrived to talk to Patrick, Sabrina said that she would not waver. Dvd #18B 3/11 Sabrina paled slightly when she saw Patrick step off the elevator and head in her direction. Elizabeth and Felix left to file charts so that Patrick and Sabrina could be alone. Patrick speculated that Sabrina had called because she had received her tests results. Sabrina said that was not the reason that she wanted to talk. When Patrick asked what it was, Sabrina started to speak, but giggled nervously instead. Epiphany interrupted with the test results. Elizabeth and Felix, who had been loitering nearby joined them. Sabrina silently read the letter that Epiphany had handed her and said nothing. Felix asked if Sabrina had passed. Patrick said that he supported Sabrina regardless of the results. Sabrina looked at the letter and said sadly that she had failed. As the commiserations began, Sabrina laughed brightly and admitted that she had been kidding. Sabrina had passed the exam with 100%, which proved that she had not cheated on the nursing final exam and deserved her place as the class valedictorian. Sabrina received hearty congratulations from her friends. Felix was so happy for her that he almost hugged Epiphany, but Epiphany gave Felix a stern look that stopped him. Epiphany also congratulated Sabrina and vowed not to rest until she found the person who had framed Sabrina and made it appear that Sabrina had cheated. Patrick told Sabrina that she was amazing. He praised Sabrina for standing up for herself to Epiphany and overcoming a huge obstacle. Before Sabrina could tell Patrick how she felt about him, he was called away. Sabrina eventually caught up with Patrick in the hall. Sabrina told Patrick that she had never had a crush on Steve Webber because her crush had always been on Patrick. Elizabeth and Felix were watching the interaction between Patrick and Sabrina. Both were glad that the truth was out. Felix turned to Elizabeth and said that it was time for Elizabeth to get ready for her date with A.J. 3/12 At the hospital, Sabrina confessed to Patrick that she hadn't had a crush on Steve. She explained how the lie had happened, but Patrick seemed confused. "The person I care about, Patrick, is you. It's always been you," Sabrina clarified. Patrick wondered how long Sabrina had had feelings for him, so she revealed that she had fallen for him the first moment that she had laid eyes on him. Sabrina recalled the fateful encounter when she had bumped into Patrick and he had helped pick up the scattered papers that she had dropped. Sabrina returned to the present and promised Patrick that she wasn't a stalker. Patrick assured her that he had never thought that she was. Sabrina relaxed and admitted that she knew that he wasn't in the right frame of mind to become involved with someone and that even if he were, she wasn't his type. Patrick admitted that he had no idea what to say. Sabrina began to ramble when she realized how subdued Patrick seemed. She promised him that she didn't expect him to say anything and that she didn't want to jeopardize their friendship. Sabrina's smile faltered when Patrick confessed that he had never thought of Sabrina in romantic terms. Moments later, Patrick was called to surgery, so he fled. Sabrina watched him walk away then changed into her scrubs. Afterwards, Elizabeth arrived for a shift. Elizabeth's cell phone rang, but she ignored it when she saw that it was A.J. Sabrina was surprised that Elizabeth was at work instead of on a date with A.J., so Elizabeth grumbled that she had arrived for her date, but A.J. had been kissing someone. "I don't know who's worse," Elizabeth growled then decided that she knew. Elizabeth admitted that A.J. was a liar, but he was messed up. However, the woman that he had been kissing had been the same "slut" that she had always been. Sabrina thought perhaps Elizabeth had misread things, but Elizabeth assured her that she hadn't. "It was vintage Carly," Elizabeth added. "Carly Jacks?" Sabrina squeaked. Sabrina reminded Elizabeth that Carly had donated the hotel's ballroom for use of the Nurses Ball. Elizabeth didn't care and accused Carly of being a "skank." Sabrina thought that Carly loathed A.J., so Elizabeth suggested that Carly had decided to amuse herself by playing with A.J. Elizabeth feared that Carly would dismantle A.J.'s life then move on to someone else. Sabrina confided that she had thought that A.J. was one of the good guys, despite his checkered past. Elizabeth agreed but realized that had been her second mistake. Sabrina was curious what Elizabeth's first mistake had been, so Elizabeth dragged Sabrina into an exam room for privacy. Elizabeth explained that she had hoped that her luck had finally changed. According to Elizabeth, the stand-up guy between her last two relationships had been a married hit man. "How defective does one have to be to keep throwing herself out there over and over again just to have it blow up in her face?" Elizabeth asked. "Super defective," Sabrina answered. Sabrina told Elizabeth about Patrick's reaction when Sabrina had declared her feelings to Patrick. Elizabeth was disappointed and felt responsible for Sabrina's heartbreak. Sabrina assured her friend that it was okay because Sabrina didn't regret that Patrick knew the truth. Sabrina was relieved that she could move forward instead of torturing herself with thoughts of what ifs. Elizabeth decided that she was the last person who should offer anyone romantic advice after what had happened with A.J. Patrick was deep in thought as he scrubbed up before surgery. Epiphany greeted Patrick as she entered but immediately sensed his distraction. She was curious what was on his mind, so Patrick revealed that Sabrina had confessed to having a crush on him. Epiphany was impressed that Sabrina had finally mustered up the nerve to tell Patrick, so Patrick wondered how long Epiphany had known. Epiphany chuckled and asked how Patrick had handled the situation. She was stunned when Patrick confessed that he had left without saying anything to Sabrina. Epiphany scolded Patrick for leaving Sabrina hanging, but Patrick pointed out that he hadn't been able to ignore the page that he had received. Epiphany wanted to know what Patrick would have said to Sabrina if he hadn't been called into surgery, but Patrick didn't have an answer. Epiphany chastised Patrick for not noticing Sabrina's crush, but Patrick assured her that he hadn't. Epiphany suggested that Patrick was either too blind to be a surgeon, or he was lying to himself. After Epiphany walked out, Patrick thought about his near-kiss with Sabrina on New Year's Eve. 3/15 In the conference room, Felix was shocked when Sabrina and Elizabeth told him about their troubles with Patrick and A.J. "How could they be so heartless?" Felix wondered. Felix couldn't understand why Carly would kiss a man she despised. However, then he realized that there was a fine line between love and hate. "In Carly's case, it's lust and hate," Elizabeth clarified. Elizabeth explained that if A.J. wasn't smart enough to stay away from Carly after all of the misery that Carly had caused him, then it was A.J.'s problem, not Elizabeth's. Felix switched gears to discuss Sabrina's situation with Patrick, but Sabrina warned him to drop it. Felix wisely suggested that they focus on something positive. Sabrina and Elizabeth appeared perplexed, so Felix reminded them that he and Sabrina were finally nurses. Moments later, Lucy breezed in and announced that they had a Nurses Ball to plan. Elizabeth, Sabrina, and Felix tactfully reminded Lucy that they had lost ELQ's backing, but Lucy waved away their concerns and ordered them to sit. Lucy passed out binders and explained that they had partnered with the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Elizabeth wondered if amfAR was aware that they'd had problems funding the ball, but Lucy insisted that it didn't matter because they needed to focus on impressing everyone. Sabrina and Felix continued to express concerns about paying for Lucy's ideas, but Lucy ignored them. 3/20 At the hospital, Dante told Patrick that Olivia had passed out, but Olivia insisted that she'd merely been dizzy, which she suspected had stemmed from not eating. Olivia thought that she was wasting Patrick's time but Patrick asked her a series of questions about the dizzy spells.
Patrick was startled when Olivia confessed that she had been looking at a bear prior to almost passing out. Dante quickly clarified that it had been a stuffed bear. Olivia and Dante told Patrick about the gift that Lulu had received and Luke's concern, which Olivia insisted had been unfounded. Dante feared that Olivia's fainting spell might have been a result of the LSD overdose, so Patrick promised to run some tests and scans. Patrick congratulated Dante on the baby and left. Patrick returned to report his findings. Patrick blamed Olivia's dizzy spells on low blood sugar and dehydration. Dante decided to take his mother to get something to eat, but Olivia wanted him to return to the loft to get rid of the bear. 3/22 Patrick paced his living room floor as he mulled over the invitation from Sabrina to attend her graduation ceremony. Patrick put the invitation down when Elizabeth arrived to pick up Emma. Patrick called out for his daughter, who appeared in the living room, wearing her pajamas. Patrick was curious why Emma wasn't dressed for the graduation ceremony, so Emma asked why Patrick wasn't in his suit. Patrick reminded his daughter that he couldn't attend the graduation ceremony because he had work to do. Emma wanted Patrick to go with her, but Patrick explained that he couldn't put his work off. Emma reluctantly went to the bedroom to change into the dress that they had picked out earlier. "Really?" Elizabeth asked, making it clear that she hadn't bought Patrick's feeble excuse about work. Patrick stuck to his story, so Elizabeth accused him to trying to avoid Sabrina. Patrick denied it, but Elizabeth didn't believe him. Elizabeth reminded Patrick that Sabrina had finally worked up the courage to open up to him about her feelings, and he had repaid Sabrina by blowing her off. Elizabeth suspected that Patrick was afraid of taking a chance, but Patrick claimed that things had changed between him and Sabrina. Elizabeth confessed that she had been the one to push Sabrina to talk to Patrick because the secret had weighed heavily on Sabrina. Elizabeth had also believed that Patrick should know "just in case." "In case of what?" Patrick asked. "Just in case it stirred something inside of you, which clearly it didn't," Elizabeth replied. Patrick suddenly realized that he had hurt Sabrina, even though he hadn't actually denied liking Sabrina. Patrick revealed that he had simply told Sabrina that he hadn't felt "that" way about Sabrina. Elizabeth accused Patrick of lying because Patrick had almost kissed Sabrina on New Year's Eve. Patrick was stunned that Elizabeth had known about the incident, but he conceded that he had initiated the near-kiss. Patrick was shocked when Elizabeth filled him in on what Britt had told Sabrina about New Year's Eve. Elizabeth urged Patrick to be honest with himself about his feelings. Patrick explained that he wasn't ready to get romantically involved, so Elizabeth confided that Robin's greatest fear hadn't been dying but rather leaving Patrick and Emma alone. Patrick admitted that Robin had said the same thing in the DVD that he had found. Elizabeth thought that Patrick owed it to himself to find out if Sabrina was the right woman for him. Patrick was certain that Robin would have approved of Sabrina. Elizabeth agreed. Moments later, Emma returned to the living room, wearing a pretty dress and sporting a set of fairy wings that Sabrina and Emma had made. According to Emma, Sabrina had promised Emma that if Emma followed her dreams then the fairy wings would fly Emma as high as the sky. Elizabeth thought that the wings were fitting because Sabrina had worked hard to achieve her dreams. Elizabeth offered Patrick another opportunity to attend the graduation ceremony with them, but he insisted that he needed to work. Elizabeth took Emma's hand and left. Afterwards, Patrick picked up the invitation to Sabrina's graduation ceremony and then looked at a family portrait of Patrick, Robin, and Emma. At the hospital, Sabrina was excited that her graduation day had arrived. Felix grinned as he picked up his cap and gown. Britt hobbled into the room on crutches and was shocked to discover that Sabrina was among the graduates. Felix explained that Sabrina had been "shoddily" framed, so she had been given an opportunity to retake the final exam to prove that she could answer all of the questions correctly. "Game over. She wins, you lose," Felix gloated. Britt feigned innocence, while Epiphany entered the room and asked to speak to Britt. After Britt and Epiphany left, Felix noticed that something was troubling Sabrina. Sabrina assured him that she was fine, but Felix realized that she hoped for Patrick to attend her graduation. Sabrina doubted that Patrick would, even though she had invited him. Felix revealed that he had invited Milo to the graduation ceremony. Sabrina was a bit confused because she thought that Milo was straight. Felix insisted that Milo was either deep in the closet or extremely comfortable around gay people because Milo spent a lot of time with Felix in the gym. Felix was hopeful that Milo might have a change of heart, but Sabrina warned Felix that he was reaching. Felix didn't care. "Things could change. They changed for Elizabeth," Felix explained. Felix noticed Sabrina checking her phone, so he reminded her that Patrick couldn't text if he was driving to the hospital. Sabrina doubted that Patrick would show because he had made his feelings for her clear. Felix reminded Sabrina of her near-kiss with Patrick on New Year's Eve, but Sabrina argued that it had been a reflex on a night when many strangers kissed to ring in the New Year. Meanwhile, Britt followed Epiphany to a quiet corner in the hallway. Epiphany handed the report to Brit then explained that it was proof that Britt had framed Sabrina for cheating. Britt insisted that Epiphany was mistaken, so Epiphany revealed that Britt's fingerprints had been found on Sabrina's locker, the padlock, the copy of the exam that had been found in Sabrina's locker, and the cabinet where the exams had been locked up. "In case you can't tell, doctor, you made a big mistake," Epiphany said with satisfaction. Britt reminded Epiphany that Epiphany was just a nurse, while Britt was a board certified doctor. Epiphany refused to be intimidated by Britt and promised to hand over the findings to the chief of staff. Britt quickly changed tactics by apologizing for the outburst then reminding Epiphany that everything had worked out for Sabrina. Britt asked Epiphany to let it go. "You shouldn't have messed with my nurses, doctor," Epiphany replied. Epiphany doubted that Britt would be around long. Britt spotted Felix and Sabrina in their caps and gowns, so she made her way to them on her crutches. Britt warned Sabrina that it wasn't over then vowed that Sabrina would pay. Felix ushered Sabrina away from Britt. Sabrina was curious if Britt had actually threatened her, so Felix confirmed that Sabrina had heard correctly. Moments later, Epiphany approached them and filled them in on Spinelli's investigation. Sabrina was grateful that her name had been cleared, so she thanked Epiphany. Epiphany quickly clarified that Patrick had been the one to hire Spinelli. After Epiphany left, Felix insisted that Patrick's actions proved that Patrick had feelings for Sabrina. Sabrina remained skeptical, but Felix was certain that Patrick would arrive soon to declare his love for Sabrina. Seconds later, Elizabeth and Emma exited the elevator. Emma ran into Sabrina's arms, while Sabrina looked up and silently asked Elizabeth if Patrick was with them. Elizabeth shook her head. 3/25 Britt met her mother, Dr. Obrecht, in the park. Dr. Obrecht was the woman who had aided Faison's plan to kidnap Robin and impersonate Duke. Britt asked why her mother was visiting Port Charles. Dr. Obrecht said that she was there to support her daughter and to take care of business of her own. When Britt reacted badly to her mother's criticism, Dr. Obrecht changed tactics and told Britt that she was proud of her for following in her mother's footsteps and becoming a doctor. Britt said that they were different kinds of doctors because Britt helped life enter the world and Dr. Obrecht helped end life. Dr. Obrecht said that she was there because Britt had called for help, pouring out her sorrows while sobbing drunkenly into the phone. Britt said that everything had changed. Dr Obrecht asked how Britt was doing with the handsome doctor she was dating? Britt told Dr Obrecht that she and Patrick had broken up. Dr. Obrecht was incredulous that Britt had lost Patrick to her "homely" rival. Britt said that she had tried to nab Patrick, but everything had blown up in her face and her career was in danger. Britt ranted that Sabrina was "pathetic" and not remotely qualified to be in medicine. Britt added that all Sabrina was good at was babysitting, and as a result, she had Emma on her side in the battle for Patrick's affections. Dr. Obrecht reminded Britt that a surgeon knew how to remove obstacles. She said that the biggest problem, Patrick's wife, had already been eliminated. Caustically, Britt agreed to try again with Patrick. Dr. Obrecht said that she did not understand why Britt could not win Patrick over, but Dr. Obrecht said she would help Britt with an alternate plan. Dr. Obrecht suggested contacting Britt's father, but Britt seemed very intimidated by that idea and begged for a second chance to seduce Patrick. Dr. Obrecht said that Britt's father only wanted what was best for Britt and would be glad to help out. Britt said that she would redouble her efforts. Dr. Obrecht said she was there to help Britt show her father that a strong woman got what she wanted, no matter who stood in the way. Dr. Obrecht vowed to help Britt find a way to get Patrick back. Britt said that Emma would be a huge problem because Emma hated Britt, even though Britt had tried to make friends with the "brat." Dr. Obrecht denigrated Britt's skills with children. Britt shot back that it would have been easier for her if her own mother had shown her a shred of compassion. Dr. Obrecht slapped Britt's face and reminded Britt that Dr. Obrecht had brought Britt into the world and Dr. Obrecht could take her out. As Britt rubbed her red cheek, Dr. Obrecht mused that there was one method that was guaranteed to keep Sabrina and Patrick apart. Patrick looked at Sabrina's graduation invitation and had second thoughts. He played the DVD that Robin had left for him. Patrick's tears flowed as he heard Robin tell him that she did not want him to be a lonely old man and that if he could not move on for his sake, that he needed to move on for Emma's because Robin did not want Emma to grow up without a mother. Robin told Patrick to do something hard: to honor Robin's memory by finding someone to be a family with. As Robin said those things, Patrick recalled all the loving moments that he had witnessed between Emma and Sabrina and the happy times that he had also shared with Sabrina. At that moment, Patrick received a photo from Emma of Emma with Sabrina in her graduation robe. Emma and Elizabeth took pictures of Sabrina and Felix as they prepared for graduation. Unknown to anyone, Emma sent one of the pictures to Patrick's phone. After Emma and Elizabeth took their seats to await the graduation exercises, Felix apologized to Sabrina for encouraging her to share her feelings with Patrick. Sabrina said that it was okay. She said that it was better for her to know that Patrick was not interested in her because it encouraged Sabrina to move on. Felix said that Patrick could still show up. Felix was nervous because he had invited Milo to the ceremony. Felix raved about Milo's buff body. Felix admitted that he hoped that because Milo spent time with Felix and seemed to like him, it meant that Milo was in the closet and Felix still had a chance at a relationship with Milo. When Milo did show up, Felix was tongue-tied, but Milo was very chatty with Sabrina. He told her that he had never been to a graduation before and that he was inspired by what Felix and Sabrina had accomplished. Milo said that he would like to go back to school and get his GED so that he could study massage. Epiphany told the class that it was time to graduate. Epiphany gave out the diplomas. When she handed Felix his, she told him that they were going to "have fun" together. Patrick arrived at the ceremony as Epiphany called Sabrina's name. Sabrina had a huge smile on her face when Patrick shouted out, "Good job!" Epiphany congratulated the graduates and dismissed the new nurses. After the ceremony, Patrick, Emma, and Elizabeth crowded around Sabrina to tell her how proud they were of her. Elizabeth got a page to the ER and left. Emma asked if Patrick had attended because of the picture that Emma had sent. Patrick said that the picture was not the only reason. He congratulated Sabrina. As Sabrina put on her mother's stethoscope, Patrick said that Sabrina's mother would be proud. When Emma went for ice cream, Patrick told Sabrina that they had to talk. Felix thanked Milo for attending the graduation. Milo said that the ceremony had been very inspiring, like his first bench press, only way cooler. Felix invited Milo for drinks at the Floating Rib, but was immediately disappointed when Milo asked Felix to put in a good word for him with Sabrina, who, Milo said, treated him like a real person and not a piece of beefcake. Felix blurted out that Sabrina was taken. 3/26 Dr. Obrecht ordered her daughter to pull it together. Britt tearfully explained that Britt didn't have a chance of getting Patrick back. Dr. Obrecht disagreed then reminded her daughter that they had one guaranteed method of pulling Patrick and Sabrina apart. "I'm sorry, I think it's too late," Britt argued. Dr. Obrecht insisted that they had everything in place to "surprise" Patrick. "But where will that leave me?" Britt wondered. Britt pointed out that the plan was to her mother's advantage, not Britt's. "Do you wish for something else?" Dr. Obrecht asked Britt. Dr. Obrecht insisted that her plan wouldn't have been necessary if Britt had followed through on the promise to make Patrick fall in love with Britt. Dr. Obrecht was curious when they should put their plan into motion, but Britt remained silent. Frustrated, Dr. Obrecht blasted her daughter for failing the one single test that Britt had been given. Britt tearfully explained that Sabrina had become involved in a certain cause as a way to get closer to Patrick, but Dr. Obrecht didn't care. Dr. Obrecht turned her back on Britt then took several steps away. Seconds later, Anna spotted Britt, so she called out to the doctor for help. Britt balked at helping Anna, so Anna assured Britt that Britt was the last person that Anna would ask for help after the way that Britt had treated Emma. However, someone had been shot and needed medical attention. Dr. Obrecht carefully remained in the shadows with her back to Anna until Britt followed Anna to where Shawn was. Moments later, the paramedics, police, Anna, and Dr. Westbourne arrived. Shawn was quickly loaded onto a stretcher then whisked to General Hospital. Britt limped back to where her mother had been and told her about the shooting. Dr. Obrecht grimaced with disdain because she thought gunfire in a park was "so American." Dr. Obrecht switched gears by announcing that the Nurses Ball would be the perfect place to spring their surprise on Patrick. In another wing at the hospital, the newly graduated nurses mingled with their friends and family following the graduation ceremony. Milo wondered if Felix would mind if Milo asked Sabrina out. "No, why should I?" Felix lied.
Milo confessed that Felix seemed a bit territorial, so Felix promised that he didn't have a problem with Milo asking Sabrina out. "Well, I do," Emma said. Surprised, Milo leaned down to ask why Emma objected to Milo going out with Sabrina. Emma confessed that she wanted her father to date Sabrina. Worried, Milo asked Felix if Sabrina and Dr. Drake were involved. Felix looked over at Sabrina and Patrick then answered, "Not that I know of." After Milo walked away, Emma noticed that Felix looked sad, so she suspected that he didn't want Milo and Sabrina to go out either. Felix admitted that Emma was right, but his reasons were different from Emma's. Patrick confessed that he and Sabrina needed to talk. Sabrina nervously apologized for telling Patrick about her "completely inappropriate feelings" because it had put him in an awkward position. Patrick tried to assure her that it was fine, but Sabrina kept on babbling by assuring him that he didn't have to worry about it happening again. Sabrina started to walk away, so Patrick called out to her just as Milo walked up to her. Patrick and Sabrina were startled when Milo asked to escort Sabrina to the graduation party at the Floating Rib. Patrick watched Sabrina carefully as Milo waited for an answer. Patrick's phone suddenly beeped, so Patrick glanced at his text messages and explained that he was needed in the Intensive Care Unit. Sabrina promised to take care of Emma then accepted Milo's invitation. Later, Epiphany overheard Patrick mention that he was headed home. She was curious why he had decided to skip the graduation party, so he confessed that he didn't want to intrude on Sabrina's date. Epiphany was impressed that Sabrina had snagged a date with Magic Milo. She smiled knowingly when Patrick didn't share her enthusiasm because she knew it stemmed from jealousy. Epiphany suspected that Sabrina's confession had opened Patrick's eyes. However, Epiphany warned Patrick that he had been a fool to let Sabrina go out with a guy like Magic Milo because Milo could easily sweep Sabrina off her feet. Patrick explained that he had tried to talk to Sabrina about his feelings, but Sabrina had kept talking over him. Patrick suggested that perhaps fate had intervened for a reason. "That's ridiculous," Epiphany scoffed. She thought that it would serve Patrick right if Milo snatched Sabrina up. Later, Sabrina, Emma, Milo, and Felix entered the bar. Felix took Emma to fetch something to drink, while Milo led Sabrina to a table to talk. Milo worried that he might have been too forward with Sabrina, but she promised him that she wouldn't have accepted his invitation if she had been offended. Milo admitted that it had seemed like he had interrupted something between Sabrina and Patrick. Sabrina assured Milo that he didn't have to worry that he was stealing her away from Patrick. Sabrina confessed that she had feelings for Patrick, but they weren't reciprocated. Milo was skeptical because Patrick had been at Sabrina's graduation. Sabrina insisted that Patrick had only attended as a courtesy because Emma and Sabrina were close. Milo admitted that he had sensed more; however, Sabrina was adamant that Patrick had no romantic interest in her. Milo wondered where that left Milo and Sabrina; he asked if she was stuck on Patrick or ready to move on. Sabrina smiled then revealed that she was ready to move on. Nearby, a dejected Felix and Emma sat down at T.J. and Molly's table. Felix and Emma explained that they weren't happy about Sabrina and Milo's date. T.J. assumed that it was because Felix had a crush on Sabrina, so Emma clarified that Felix liked boys. Molly realized that Milo was the object of Felix's affections. Felix grumbled that Sabrina knew how Felix felt about Milo and what it was like to pine for someone. Emma was curious if Felix was mad at Sabrina? Felix explained that he was madder at himself for wanting someone that he couldn't have. Molly surmised that Felix hoped that Milo was gay and didn't realize it yet. Felix knew he was dreaming, but Sabrina going out with Milo didn't help.
Later, Emma confided to Felix that Sabrina had once told Emma that they had to follow their dreams. Emma believed that Felix would find someone new to love if he followed his dreams. 3/27 Sabrina tried to figure out why Felix had been giving her the cold shoulder. She was curious if it had to do with her date with Milo. "Damn right it's about Milo," Felix confirmed. He admitted that he felt betrayed because she had gone out with the guy that Felix had a crush on. Sabrina reminded Felix that Milo didn't even "play" on Felix's team, but Felix argued that it didn't matter because friends were not supposed to date people that their friends had feelings for. Sabrina confessed that the only reason that she had gone out with Milo was to get over Patrick. Felix stormed off, so Sabrina followed him. She reminded Felix that Felix and Elizabeth had encouraged her to pour her heart out to Patrick, but Patrick had rejected her. Felix wondered if Sabrina had gone out with Milo to get back at Felix. Sabrina assured him that she hadn't, but she reminded Felix that he and Elizabeth had pushed Sabrina to meet someone new. Felix was hurt that Sabrina had decided to get over Patrick with Milo. Sabrina refused to apologize because she thought that Milo was a genuinely nice guy. Felix was curious how Sabrina would feel if Felix went after Patrick. Sabrina argued that it wasn't the same thing because Felix couldn't have Patrick. "Well, apparently, neither can you," Felix snidely replied then walked away. Felix told Carly about his argument with Sabrina. Carly pointed out that Milo wasn't interested in men, but Felix suspected that Milo was in denial. Carly made it clear that Milo was heterosexual and that there was nothing that Felix could do to change that. Felix insisted that regardless what Milo's sexual orientation was, it hadn't been right for Sabrina to go out with Milo. Carly wondered if that meant that Felix no longer had Sabrina's back. Felix sobered as he admitted that he would always be there for Sabrina. Satisfied, Carly suggested that Felix should be happy for Sabrina if Milo made Sabrina happy. Nearby, Lucy was curious what was troubling Sabrina. Sabrina accused Felix of being selfish for resenting Sabrina's date with Milo. Lucy advised Sabrina to let Milo go, unless Milo was the love of Sabrina's life, because what Sabrina had with Milo would never compare to Sabrina's friendship with Felix. Milo approached the nurses' station, so Patrick assumed that Milo was there for Sabrina. Milo admitted that he wanted to talk to Patrick because Milo had sensed that he had interrupted an important conversation between Patrick and Sabrina after the graduation ceremony. Milo explained that he had enjoyed Sabrina's company on their date and wanted to ask Sabrina out again, but something was holding him back. Patrick pointed out that Milo didn't need Patrick's permission. Milo disagreed. Milo knew that Sabrina had strong feelings for Patrick, but Sabrina didn't think that Patrick returned those feelings. "Who says I don't feel the same way?" Patrick asked. Milo ignored the question as he explained that he had a history of bad relationships, so Milo wanted to make certain that Patrick wasn't interested in Sabrina. Milo's phone rang before Patrick could answer. It was Sabrina. Sabrina asked Milo to meet her in Metro Court's ballroom, so Milo agreed. After Milo left, Patrick gazed at a picture of Sabrina and Emma. Carly and Michael walked up asking for Nikolas' room number because they hoped to spend time with Bobbie. Michael noticed that Patrick seemed distracted, so he asked if Patrick was okay. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Patrick asked defensively. In the ballroom, Sabrina prepared to end things with Milo when Felix suddenly walked up and loudly proclaimed that he wanted to watch when Sabrina invited Milo to attend the Nurses Ball with her. Sabrina looked confused until Felix mouthed to her that it was okay. Sabrina smiled then asked Milo to be her date. Milo happily agreed. 3/28 Lucy instantly fell in love with the venue because it was spectacular and sophisticated. Carly noticed that Felix was subdued, so she asked him what was wrong. Lucy vowed to make the Nurses Ball the best one ever, so she put Felix and Sabrina to work on the seating plan. At the nurses' station, Elizabeth bumped into Patrick, which sent both of their cell phones flying. Elizabeth quickly apologized as she leaned down to pick up her cell phone. She smiled knowingly as she handed Patrick's phone to him. Patrick smiled with embarrassment because Elizabeth had seen the picture of Sabrina and Emma that Emma had sent to him. Elizabeth confided that Emma had been proud to figure out how to send pictures on Elizabeth's cell phone. Patrick and Elizabeth talked about Sabrina's graduation. Patrick claimed that he had shown up to support Sabrina, but Elizabeth was curious if he had been there as a friend or something more. Patrick admitted that he had been thinking about what Robin had wanted for Patrick and Emma when Emma's picture had arrived. Elizabeth loved Emma's ingenuity. "You gotta love a girl who knows what she wants," Elizabeth replied. Patrick smiled then confided that it didn't matter why he had gone to Sabrina's graduation because Sabrina had decided to date someone else. Shocked, Elizabeth asked who. "Milo," Patrick answered." Magic Milo?" Elizabeth asked. Patrick wondered what was going on with the women in Port Charles and Magic Milo. Elizabeth explained that Patrick would have had to have been at Connie's bachelorette party to understand. Patrick assured Elizabeth that he had heard about Milo's "cheese grater abs." Elizabeth chucked then admitted that she was proud of Sabrina for moving on with Milo. Elizabeth thought that Sabrina and Milo made a cute couple. "Don't you?" she sweetly asked. Patrick revealed that Milo had paid Patrick a visit to find out if Patrick and Sabrina were romantically involved with each other. Elizabeth was impressed with Milo's thoughtfulness, but she was curious what Patrick had told Milo. Patrick admitted that he hadn't had a chance to say anything because Sabrina had called Milo, so Milo had left. Elizabeth pushed for an answer, so Patrick confessed that he loved Robin as much as he had on the day that Robin had died, so Milo had more to offer Sabrina than Patrick did. Elizabeth was curious if Patrick had considered Sabrina's feelings, but Patrick insisted that he had baggage. Elizabeth argued that Patrick either wanted to be with Sabrina or not, so she suggested that he stop hiding behind Robin and Emma before it was too late. Elizabeth reminded Patrick that they both knew that life was too short, so Patrick should focus on what he wanted. After Elizabeth left to check on Nikolas, Patrick called Sabrina. The call went to voicemail, so Patrick asked her to return his call because he needed to talk to her about something important. In the ballroom, Lucy gathered everyone to rehearse the opening number for the Nurses Ball for the very first time. Milo confessed to Sabrina that he had been worried about her phone call because he had expected her to tell him that she wasn't interested in going out with him again. Sabrina assured him that the thought hadn't crossed her mind. Milo offered to help out setting things up for the Nurses Ball, so Sabrina sent him to work with the lighting crew. After Milo left, Sabrina admitted to Felix that she felt lucky to have a date with Milo.Felix was surprised when Sabrina revealed that she had decided not to go out with Milo for the sake of her friendship with Felix. Felix confessed that Carly had made him realize that his friendship with Sabrina was more important than some guy. Sabrina regretted that she had hurt Milo, but she had been determined to get over Patrick. Felix insisted that it had been his fault for falling for another straight guy. Moments later, Lucy called out for Elizabeth. Lucy became frustrated when Epiphany explained that Elizabeth had been needed at the hospital. Lucy couldn't understand why another nurse, who hadn't volunteered to be a part of the Nurses Ball, couldn't have taken Elizabeth's place at the hospital. Epiphany refused to answer the question, so Lucy took some calming breaths then announced that a surprise celebrity choreographer had agreed to work on the opening number. Everyone smiled with anticipation as fitness expert Richard Simmons appeared in the doorway. Everyone applauded, while Lucy ran over to greet Richard with a warm hug. Richard set down his boom box then joined Lucy on the stage. Lucy explained that Richard had lived in Port Charles years earlier and had taught exercise classes at the campus disco that Luke Spencer had run. Richard admitted that his favorite nurse had been Amy Vining because Amy had loved to gossip with him after the classes about the Webber, Spencer, and Quartermaine families. Richard announced that he had written a special song for the Nurses Ball, so he offered to share a part of it with the gathered volunteers. Everyone clapped, so Richard asked someone to hit play on the boom box. A disco-style rap song suddenly filled the room as Richard Simmons directed everyone in a group dance. Everyone's smile began to fade as the rap lyrics sank in. "It started out in Port Charles town, where Frank Smith's mob used to hang around. It had names and numbers all in code, so Luke and Laura had to hit the road. They had to find the left-handed boy. Watch their step, they had to be coy. Ooh, Monica likes to have her fun. Told Rick he was the dad, soon found out that he'd been had. Alan was the father, of course, and he won't give Monica a divorce. Rick wants to get Lesley back; Heather's having an insane attack." Sabrina wondered if the rap had been about their chief of staff, Monica Quartermaine. Epiphany admitted that it had sounded like it. Horrified, Lucy ran over to the boom box to turn it off. Richard was offended and demanded to know what was wrong with his song. Lucy informed Richard that it couldn't be used, but Richard argued that it was poetry, had a "great sexy" '80s beat, and, according to Richard, was the complete truth. Lucy explained that they couldn't flaunt the town's secrets, but Richard insisted that the "stupid" town's secrets weren't secrets. Lucy refused to embarrass Monica. "Who cares about her?" Richard angrily demanded as the nurses glared at him. Lucy and Richard proceeded to scream at each other until Lucy suggested that Richard change the lyrics. Richard demanded to know where Bobbie Spencer was because he was certain that his friend would back him up. Lucy doubted that Bobbie would jeopardize the Nurses Ball by playing a tasteless song about 30-year-old gossip. Richard insisted on talking to the head nurse about firing Lucy. Epiphany made it clear that as much as she liked the beat of the song, she objected to the unflattering lyrics. Richard became infuriated when everyone voted to change the lyrics, so he decided that if his song was out then he would walk. Sabrina cried out in dismay as Milo put a hand on her shoulder to comfort her. "Who are you, little girl?" Richard cruelly cackled at Sabrina. Lucy informed Richard that Sabrina was the reason for the return of the Nurses Ball. Sabrina suggested that perhaps there was a way to change the lyrics without compromising the integrity of the song, but Richard refused to bend. He gathered his boom box then stormed out. Lucy insisted that "the show must go on." Everyone slowly returned to what they had been working on. Milo sat down to chat with T.J. about Sabrina and Milo's fear that Patrick was interested in her. T.J. insisted that nice guys always finished last, so Milo should do whatever was necessary to hold on to Sabrina. Meanwhile, Sabrina lamented about their lack of a choreographer and opening number, so T.J. suggested that Molly write the song lyrics, while T.J. work on the music. He reminded everyone that Molly had written a novel and revealed that he enjoyed writing music. Moments later, Anton offered to step in as the choreographer. Lucy was skeptical, but Anton assured her that he had experience dancing. Lucy decided that she needed a demonstration, so Anton invited Sam to dance with him. Lucy explained that the best way to judge Anton's ability was for Lucy to dance with Anton. Anton agreed, so he pulled Lucy into his arms for a waltz. Nearby, Milo heard Sabrina's phone ring, so he looked at the screen of the phone. He sent the call to voicemail when he saw that it was Patrick. Moments later, Milo deleted the voicemail message. 4/2 At the hospital, Audrey approached her granddaughter as Elizabeth exited Nikolas' room. Audrey explained that she had stopped by the hospital to check on Elizabeth and to watch as Elizabeth's grandfather's portrait was hung in the boardroom in honor of what would have been Steve Hardy's 50th anniversary at the hospital. Elizabeth felt terrible that she had forgotten what day it was, but Audrey reminded her granddaughter that Elizabeth had had a lot on her mind because of Nikolas. Elizabeth thought that there should have been more done for Steve than simply hanging a portrait of him in the boardroom because her grandfather had been the heart and soul of General Hospital. Audrey pointed out that Steve wouldn't have wanted anyone to make a fuss over him. At the first floor nurses' station, Patrick greeted the new interns. He pointed to the portrait of Steve Hardy as he explained that Steve had been General Hospital's first and best chief of staff and that they were all there because of Steve. Patrick revealed that Steve had died in 1996, but doctors continued to aspire to be like Dr. Hardy, although most realized that it was impossible. One of the interns wondered if Patrick had worked with Dr. Hardy, so Patrick revealed that Dr. Alan Quartermaine had been the chief of staff when Patrick had started working at the hospital. Patrick led the interns on a tour of the hospital as he told them that the current chief of staff was Dr. Monica Quartermaine. An intern was curious if Monica was related to Alan, so Patrick explained that Monica was Alan's widow. Another intern recalled hearing about a "Mr. and Mrs. Intern" program. Patrick chuckled as he confirmed that the rumors about the program were true. Patrick then informed the interns that doctors might be the brains of the hospital, but the nurses' were the heart. Epiphany praised Patrick for the insightful remark. Epiphany told the interns about the Nurses' Ball and its purpose. Patrick let the interns know that they were permitted to attend for free. After Epiphany ordered the interns to get to work, Patrick and Epiphany returned to the nurses' station. They talked about Patrick's own days as an intern and his desire to leave a lasting legacy for a new generation of doctors. Epiphany wondered if Patrick was up to the challenge. "I guess we'll have to ask someone in fifty years, won't we?" Patrick replied. Later, Audrey and Elizabeth stood before Steve's portrait as Patrick walked up. Patrick hoped that the portrait had met with Audrey's approval, so she assured him that it had. Patrick confessed that it would be intimidating to have Steve watching over them during the board meetings. Elizabeth suddenly recalled that Audrey's golden anniversary was right around the corner. "Well, I guess it is," Audrey replied. Audrey thought about a time, many years before, when she had danced with Steve. Steve had nervously asked her how he had been doing. She returned to the present as Elizabeth told Patrick that Audrey and Steve had had quite a love story. According to Audrey, life was filled with stories crossing over each other. Patrick agreed because he had often wondered if Robin would have sought him out if his father, Noah, hadn't worked at General Hospital. Patrick insisted that the hospital had changed lives, including his own. Elizabeth thought about how many lives had been touched by the hospital and how many stories had passed through General Hospital over the fifty years. "Stores of rivalries, stories of love, stores of heartbreak, stories that left us on the edge of our seats. The things about all those stories...we never know how they'll end," Patrick said. Moments later, Epiphany told Patrick that he was needed in the operating room. Elizabeth smiled as she watched Patrick sprint away because it never ended. Audrey assured her granddaughter that Steve wouldn't have had it any other way. Audrey approached Steve's portrait then touchingly said, "My Rock of Gibraltar. Happy anniversary, Darling." Everyone gathered around the nurses' station began to clap. The episode ended with a message from everyone at General Hospital: Happy 50th Anniversary General Hospital. Thank you to all of our fans for your decades of support! 4/3 At the hospital, Patrick recalled leaving Sabrina a message requesting that she return his call because he wanted to talk to her about something important. Patrick returned to the present to check his phone. He was disappointed when he saw that there hadn't been any missed calls or new voicemail messages from Sabrina. Moments later, Patrick bumped into Elizabeth. He was surprised because he had thought that she had left. Elizabeth explained that her grandmother, Audrey, had offered to watch the boys, so that Elizabeth could check on Nikolas and then head to rehearsal for the Nurses' Ball. Elizabeth thanked Patrick for everything that he had done to honor her grandfather, Dr. Steve Hardy, because it had meant a lot to her and Audrey. Patrick wondered how Elizabeth was holding up with all the drama involving Nikolas and the Spencers. She confessed that spending time with her grandmother had been exactly what she had needed. Patrick agreed that it was important to have special people like Audrey in one's life. Elizabeth sensed that something was troubling Patrick, but he quickly tried to brush it off. Elizabeth realized that it had to do with Sabrina, so Patrick told Elizabeth about the message that he had left for Sabrina and Sabrina's lack of response. Elizabeth was surprised that Sabrina hadn't called him back, so she suggested that perhaps Sabrina had been busy with the Nurses' Ball or her phone might have been broken. Patrick suspected that Sabrina was happy with the new man in her life, Milo, so she was avoiding Patrick. Patrick realized that he had missed his chance with Sabrina, but Elizabeth disagreed. Patrick decided to change the subject by reminding Elizabeth that she was late for rehearsal. A short time later, Patrick spotted one of his patients wandering the hallway. The man assured Patrick that he felt better then confided that he had been looking for his favorite nurse, Sabrina. Patrick explained that she wasn't there, so the man admitted that he couldn't believe that someone hadn't scooped Sabrina up yet. Patrick confessed that someone had, prompting the patient to comment that Patrick was a lucky guy, but Patrick admitted that it wasn't him. In the ballroom, Lucy supervised everyone as they worked to set things up for the Nurses' Ball. Felix became distracted watching Milo help Sabrina with some wall hangings, so Lucy barked at Felix to get to work. Lucy confessed that she was worried because she hadn't seen the new choreographer yet. Felix was curious if she had been referring to Metro Court's handyman. Lucy nodded then confided that she hadn't realized that Richard Simmons had been such a diva. In the ballroom, T.J. remarked that things appeared to be going well between Sabrina and Milo. Milo confessed that he had done something underhanded to make certain that Patrick Drake didn't get between Sabrina and Milo. T.J. was impressed when Milo told him about the erased voicemail message, but Milo explained that he felt bad about what he had done. Sabrina walked up in time to hear the tail end of Milo and T.J.'s conversation, so she was curious why Milo felt bad. Milo quickly changed the subject by offering to help Sabrina with another project. Moments later, Lucy called out to T.J. to join her on the stage. After T.J. walked away, Sabrina pushed for an answer because she had heard her name mentioned. Milo was saved from having to answer when Lucy asked everyone to gather at the stage to rehearse the opening number. Sabrina made it clear that she intended to continue their discussion later. T.J. returned to Milo's side, while everyone gathered for the opening number. Milo confessed that he felt like he had dodged a bullet, but he remained uncomfortable about lying to Sabrina. T.J. argued that all was fair in love and war, but Milo explained that he didn't want Sabrina to be with him because Milo had manipulated and lied to her. Milo insisted that he wasn't a good liar, so he had decided to be honest with Sabrina. Moments later, Elizabeth arrived. Sabrina quickly approached her friend to find out why Elizabeth had been late. Elizabeth revealed that she had been talking to Patrick, so Elizabeth was curious why Sabrina hadn't returned Patrick's phone call. Sabrina had no idea what Elizabeth was talking about, so Elizabeth advised Sabrina to talk to Patrick. 4/4 Sabrina struggled to push a clothing rack filled with couture gowns. Felix was excited until Lucy informed Felix that all of the gowns were for Lucy. Lucy explained that the host couldn't appear in the same gown all night, so Lucy intended to wear a different gown each time she stepped on stage. Sabrina asked Felix if there was a way to retrieve a deleted voicemail message. Felix suspected that there was, but he didn't know how. Sabrina explained that Elizabeth had mentioned that Patrick had left Sabrina a message, but Elizabeth had refused to elaborate. However, Sabrina has sensed that the message was important. Felix suggested that Patrick would call back if it was important. Sabrina agreed, so she set her phone down and went back to work getting things set up for the ball. A short time later, Sabrina noticed that she had missed a call from Patrick. At the Drake residence, Patrick and Emma were eating dinner when Emma decided to go to her room to change into her ball gown. Patrick gently advised Emma against it because he didn't want her to get her dress dirty, but Emma wanted her father to see the dress. Patrick explained that he would rather be surprised when he saw her at the ball. Emma smiled brightly and then confided that her duet with Sabrina would be the best performance at the ball. Patrick returned the smile until Emma began to talk about Sabrina's new boyfriend, "Magic Milo." According to Emma, Felix wasn't happy about Sabrina's relationship with Milo because Felix liked Milo. However, Emma explained that Milo didn't like boys. Emma recalled Felix mentioning Milo's abs, so she was curious was abs were. Patrick told his daughter to finish her dinner and warned her not to gossip. Afterwards, Patrick stepped away to call Sabrina. The call went to voicemail, so he asked what time Sabrina intended to pick up Emma. Moments later, the doorbell rang. Patrick assumed that it was Sabrina, so he ended the call and dashed to the door. He was surprised when he saw Noah standing on his doorstep. Emma ran into her grandfather's waiting arms. Patrick was curious why Noah was there, so Noah explained that he intended to attend the Nurses Ball because it was a worthy charity and it honored Robin. Later, Sabrina arrived to pick up Emma. Patrick introduced Sabrina to Noah, but Noah already knew Sabrina. Noah explained that Sabrina and Emma talked to Noah on Skype whenever Sabrina watched Emma. Patrick looked uncomfortable when Sabrina and Noah chatted like old friends about some of the women that Noah had recently dated. After Sabrina and Emma left, Noah remarked that Patrick and Emma were lucky to have found someone like Sabrina. Patrick agreed, but Noah sensed that his son was holding something back. Patrick confessed that he'd recently had a moment of clarity. Patrick told Noah about Sabrina's heartfelt confession and Patrick's panicked reaction. Patrick had realized later that Sabrina had quietly helped him put his life back together after Robin's tragic death. Patrick conceded that he had feelings for Sabrina, but it was too late because Sabrina had moved on with another guy. Noah urged Patrick to swallow his pride and open up to Sabrina. Patrick admitted that he had left Sabrina a voicemail message, but Noah insisted that women didn't want to hear things like that over the phone. Noah didn't want Patrick to make the same mistake that Noah had made when Noah had let a "certain nurse" slip though his fingers, so he urged Patrick to try to talk to Sabrina again. The women in Anna's room were in various stages of getting ready for the ball when Felix arrived with complimentary bags of Lucy's cosmetics. Felix gushed to Anna about Emma, but admitted that Patrick was a "dolt" and the most clueless person that he had ever met. Anna was curious what Felix was talking about, but Felix tried to change the subject. Concerned, Anna pushed for an answer, so Felix assured her that Patrick was fine, but he cryptically explained that he thought that Patrick could be less lonely. Anna wondered if Felix had a specific person in mind to help Patrick be less lonely, but Felix was spared from having to answer Anna's question when Sabrina and Emma arrived. Emma was quickly swept up in the frenzy of getting ready, so Felix pulled Sabrina aside to inform Sabrina that he intended to give Sabrina a makeover. Sabrina refused, but Felix refused to take no for an answer. He knew that Sabrina had recently ordered some contact lenses, which indicated to him that she wanted to make some changes but had been too afraid to follow through. Felix yanked off Sabrina's glasses as he accused her of hiding behind her big hair and thick glasses, so he was determined to help her. Sabrina remained reluctant, but Felix promised her two things: he would have her turning heads at the ball, and he would make her almost as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside. Seconds later, Anna noticed Sabrina without her glasses. Anna complimented Sabrina and claimed that Sabrina looked like a different woman, so Sabrina decided to take Felix up on his offer. Later, all of the ladies clapped when Emma made a grand entrance, dressed in a sparkling gown. Emma called out to Sabrina to join them, but Felix told the ladies that Sabrina would meet them in the ballroom. After the ladies filed out, Felix turned to look at Sabrina. "What can I say? I'm a master builder," Felix proclaimed with pride. Sabrina nervously wondered if she looked okay, so Felix assured her that she was beautiful. Sabrina asked Felix to go ahead without her because she wanted some time to get used to the heels. Shortly after Felix left, Patrick knocked on the door and called out to Anna as he entered the suite. He spotted Sabrina, but she had her back to him, so he asked her if she had seen a woman similar to her height, with big hair and glasses. Patrick was shocked by the stunning transformation when Sabrina turned to face him. 4/5 In Anna's suite, Patrick was stunned by Sabrina's startling transformation. Sabrina smiled awkwardly as she conceded that she looked different, so Patrick assured her that she was beautiful. Sabrina rushed to explain that the makeover had been Felix's idea, but she assured Patrick that she was still the same person under all of the glitz and glamour. "That's a good thing," Patrick quietly admitted. Patrick cleared his throat and then confessed that he had been trying to talk to Sabrina for a few days, but he'd only reached her voicemail. Sabrina admitted that Elizabeth had mentioned that he had left a voicemail message for Sabrina, but Sabrina insisted that she hadn't received it. Sabrina was surprised when Patrick confessed that he hoped that her feelings for him hadn't changed because he felt the same way about Sabrina that she felt about him. Patrick explained that he had realized that Sabrina had been a friend to him, even when he hadn't known that he had needed one and that he had looked forward to seeing her every day from the day that he had met her. Patrick admitted that grief and then Britt had distracted him, but Sabrina's confession had made him realize that the person he wanted and needed had been standing right in front of him. Sabrina's eyes filled with tears of joy as Patrick revealed that he had gone to her graduation ceremony to tell her about his feelings, but Milo had asked her out. Sabrina confessed that she had gone out with Milo to get over Patrick. Patrick was curious if it had worked, so Sabrina quickly assured Patrick that her feelings for him hadn't changed. Patrick apologized to Sabrina for taking so long to figure things out, so Sabrina assured Patrick that it was okay. "I'm sorry it took me so long to do this," Patrick softly said as he leaned down to kiss her. After the passionate kiss ended, Sabrina admitted that she couldn't believe what had just happened. Sabrina's happiness was tempered by the realization that Milo was her date. Patrick's smile faded, but Sabrina assured him that she intended to talk to Milo right away to let him know that things had changed between her and Patrick, so Patrick formally asked Sabrina to be his date for the evening. She didn't hesitate to accept. Moments later, Sabrina announced that she had to get to the ballroom because she was expected to perform in the opening number. Patrick offered his arm to Sabrina as he asked her if she was ready. "I've been ready since the day I met you," Sabrina replied with a beaming smile as she hooked her arm through his. Felix knocked on the door and entered the room to find out why Lucy wasn't ready. Lucy explained her predicament to Felix, so Felix decided to help her select a gown because he didn't want her to appear on stage in her underwear. Lucy confessed that it wouldn't be the first time that it had happened to her. On the red carpet, an entertainment television host introduced the viewing audience to Aztec princess, Felicia Jones, and her daughter, fashion icon and selfless surrogate, Maxie Jones. Felicia and Maxie smiled as they made their way to an area where photographers snapped their pictures. Moments later, Frisco joined Felicia and Maxie. Frisco's smile faded when the red carpet host announced that Mac had arrived, prompting Felicia to invite Mac to join them. Frisco scowled when Mac slid next to Felicia and smiled pleasantly for the photographers. Spinelli and Ellie were the next to arrive, but Ellie's good humor waned when Spinelli spotted Maxie and remarked that Maxie was "blossoming with child." Ellie reminded Spinelli that he had promised not to talk about children. Tensions were high as Spinelli and Ellie quickly posed for pictures before fleeing to the ballroom. Duke, sporting a kilt, arrived on the red carpet alone, but Anna and Emma soon followed, and Anna stopped to talk to the host. Anna confessed that she believed that her daughter, Robin, was there in spirit. Emma smiled brightly when she saw Duke posing for pictures, so she called out to him. Duke waved back at Emma as she ran towards him. However, Emma's happiness dimmed when she overheard the host inform the viewing audience that Patrick had not arrived yet. Bobbie greeted Noah with a warm hug. He apologized for interrupting her phone call, but she assured him that it was okay because she had just been checking in with Scott. "Scotty?" Noah asked surprised. He wondered if Bobbie and Scott were dating, so she quickly clarified that she was single then jokingly added that it had been years since she had faked blindness to keep a man. Noah chuckled. "That's good to know," he replied as he watched Bobbie walk away. Later, Patrick joined his family at their table in the ballroom. Emma happily hugged her father, but noticed something on his collar. Noah smiled knowingly at his son. "Looks like you found her," Noah said. Patrick retuned his father's smile as he replied, "Yes." Backstage, Lucy ordered everyone to take their place for the opening number. Lucy was relieved when Sabrina arrived at the last second, but took a moment to compliment the young nurse on her stunning makeover. After Lucy walked away to attend to another detail, Felix and Elizabeth asked Sabrina why she was late. Sabrina happily revealed that Patrick had kissed her. Felix and Elizabeth were thrilled for Sabrina and eager to hear the details, but Sabrina had to get changed for the opening number. A short time later, Lucy stepped onto the stage to officially kick off the 2013 Nurses Ball. She informed the audience that T.J. and Molly had written the music and lyrics for the opening number. The nurses of General Hospital wowed the crowed with a song and dance routine, which featured solos from Epiphany, Sabrina, and Felix. After the opening number, Sabrina changed back into her gown and looked for Milo. Milo was stunned by Sabrina's makeover and admitted that she looked as amazing on the outside as she was on the inside. However, he revealed that he had a confession to make. Sabrina was surprised when he told her about the deleted voicemail message. Milo feared that she was angry, but she assured him that she wasn't because she had to be honest with him too. Milo was disappointed, but not shocked, when she told him that things had changed between her and Patrick. He admitted that it was clear that there was an undeniable connection between Sabrina and Patrick. Moments later, Sabrina joined Patrick at his table. Emma thought that Sabrina looked like a princess. Patrick agreed and invited Sabrina to sit. Felix approached Anton to offer to dance with him. Anton smiled, but explained that he had a dance partner. Felix hid his disappointment as Sam returned to fetch Anton for their dance number. The audience loved Sam and Anton's flawless freestyle dance and applauded loudly when the dance concluded. Lucy reminded everyone that there had been nurses from the past who continued to inspire everyone. The curtain lifted to reveal a picture of Nurse Amy Vining and Nurse Jesse Brewer. Lucy admitted that the two beloved nurses were missed, but not forgotten. Lucy then introduced her longtime dear friend, Bobbie Spencer, who had once been General Hospital's head nurse. After the applause for Bobbie died down, Lucy revealed that the Nurses Ball wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of an anonymous benefactor. Lucy was certain that the benefactor was present, so she urged the person to stand up because she wanted to give everyone the opportunity to show their appreciation with applause. Everyone clapped as they waited for someone to stand up, but no one did. Lucy respected the benefactor's wish to remain anonymous, but she assured the person that they were all grateful for the donation. Next Lucy announces a surprise performance from Frisco who sang a touching rendition of “All I Need”. Felicia's eyes filled with tears, as other couples such as A.J. and Elizabeth, Spinelli and Ellie, Patrick and Sabrina, Duke and Anna, and Alexis and Shawn exchanged meaningful glances with each other during parts of the lyrics that spoke to them. Frisco dedicated the song to the woman that he had always held close to his heart, no matter how far he had traveled. Mac was shocked when Frisco approached Felicia to publicly propose marriage to her. In Lucy's dressing room, Lucy became frustrated when she couldn't find a specific gown. However, a loud noise caught her attention, so she went to her dressing room door and threw it open. She appeared startled by what had greeted her eyes. 4/8 Britt and her mother, Dr. Obrecht, discussed the plot they were hatching while they watched the Nurses Ball on the television set in their Metro Court hotel room. Britt was reluctant to continue with the plan when she saw how happy Sabrina, Patrick, and Emma were, but Dr. Obrecht insisted. She told Britt that what she saw was just an illusion that would be shattered once their bombshell hit. Britt wondered if revenge was enough. Dr. Obrecht told Britt that she was weak and reminded Britt of all that Sabrina had taken from her. Britt remembered steamy sex with Patrick as well as his coldness after it was revealed that Britt had been mean to both Emma and Sabrina. Britt told her mother she was ready to go on with the plan. Dr. Obrecht told Britt to pull herself together and get dressed. She said that after that night, all of Port Charles would be talking about Britt and the surprise that she had unleashed. Backstage, as Lucy picked out her next dress, Richard Simmons, who had been hiding in the closet, appeared and started insulting Lucy. They squabbled. Richard bound and gagged Lucy and threw her in the closet as he prepared to go out and do a number of his own. Elizabeth took over emcee duties when Lucy went missing. She introduced the tango number. Since Lucy was unavailable, Anna took her place. She and Duke rekindled the magic of their previous relationship and wiped away the stain that Faison had put on it. Next, Elizabeth introduced "Magic Milo," who did a song and dance number with Michael, Spinelli, Ivan the choreographer, Max, and Felix. The boys eventually stripped down to their underwear. As the crowd called for them to strip completely, the rumble between Lucy and Richard Simmons erupted onstage, and Lucy, once again, was spotlighted in her underwear. The men in the crowd started clapping while Lucy tried to explain how Richard had come out of the closet and attacked her. Richard had to be restrained as he screamed that he wanted to kill Lucy. The six hunks unceremoniously carried Richard off-stage. Sabrina sat with Patrick and Emma, who asked if Milo was still Sabrina's boyfriend. When Sabrina said, "No," Emma asked if Patrick could be Sabrina's boyfriend. Both Sabrina and Patrick looked very happy. Emma noticed Duke and Anna and asked if Anna had a boyfriend, too. After Sabrina took Emma away to get dressed for their number together, Anna gave her blessing to Patrick and Sabrina. Lucy was back in charge as she announced that Dr. Noah Drake had arranged for Rick Springfield to appear at the ball and sing his hit, "Jesse's Girl," which elicited a standing ovation from the house. Even Dr. Obrecht approved that performance, as she helped Britt get dressed. She told Britt that she would turn heads and that "mutter" would be watching her every step of the way as they unveiled their plot. Lucy introduced Emma and Sabrina, who did a cute song and dance number together to the song "Call Me Maybe." Patrick was entranced with his "pretty in pink" girls. Lucy got serious as she said that the ball was held in Robin's honor, and she introduced Patrick. Patrick talked about the AIDS epidemic. He said that it was not over and that Robin had devoted her life to helping fight it. He told Robin's story. Patrick called Emma on-stage and said that they were grateful for the love that everyone had show Robin. He added that Robin's legacy lived on, thanks to each and every person who had contributed to making Robin's dream a reality. Britt walked up to the stage. Patrick asked what she was doing. Britt merely said that she wanted to add a few words of her own. Back in the hotel room, Dr. Obrecht watched Britt and looked at a photograph. She told the photograph that he would be a proud papa. A closeup revealed that the man in the photo was Faison. 4/9 In the ballroom, Patrick warily asked Britt what she was doing on stage. Britt claimed that his speech had inspired her, so she had wanted to add a few words of her own. Sabrina stood protectively close to Emma as Patrick quietly reminded Britt that the night was intended to honor Robin. He asked Britt not to make a scene, but Britt was confident that everyone would want to hear what she had to say. Sabrina tried to intervene, but Britt warned Sabrina that it didn't concern Sabrina. Sabrina disagreed, so Britt announced that she had great news. An audible gasp reverberated through the room as Britt shrugged out of her coat to proudly reveal that she was pregnant with a baby that she claimed Patrick had fathered. Nearby, Anna watched intently as Patrick tried to handle the situation. Britt innocently explained that she had been caught up in the joy of the evening, so she had wanted to share her surprise with everyone and celebrate the wonderful news with Patrick. Patrick tried to contain his fury as Britt's eyes zeroed in on Emma. Britt insisted that the baby would be as beautiful as Emma then asked the frightened little girl if Emma looked forward to welcoming a little sister or brother. Anna dashed to the stage, while Patrick warned Britt not to talk to Emma. Anna ushered Emma off stage as Britt boldly announced that Britt and Patrick were a family now. Sabrina accused Britt of lying, but Britt stroked her slightly rounded belly as she assured Sabrina that the pregnancy was very real. Patrick decided to continue his discussion with Britt in private, so he escorted Britt off of the stage. Distraught, Sabrina ran in the opposite direction. Lucy quickly stepped on stage and jokingly referred to the shocking incident as an "Act Three surprise." She then introduced Olivia, the "Bensonhurst Medium" and Olivia's sidekick, Max. Olivia and Max promptly lightened the mood with their comedy skit. Anna and Duke took Emma to a dressing room. Duke tried to cheer the little girl up with a dessert that he had stolen, but Emma was concerned about Britt's startling news. Anna confessed that she didn't know if what Britt had said was true, so Emma wondered if it was because Britt was a mean person who lied. Anna struggled to find the right words. "Yes, that's why we don't know," Duke answered for Anna. Anna quickly assured her granddaughter that Emma would be a wonderful big sister whenever she became one. Emma confessed that she didn't want a brother or sister if it meant that Britt had to be her mother too. Backstage, Felix and Elizabeth checked on Sabrina who wept in anger and frustration about the drama that had unfolded on stage. Sabrina confessed that she had always known that her happiness with Patrick wouldn't last, but she hadn't expected it to end so soon or that "the Britch" would claim to be pregnant with Patrick's baby. Elizabeth confessed that she had her doubts about the baby, so Sabrina pointed out that they had all seen the baby bump. Felix clarified that it wasn't the pregnancy that they questioned, but rather the child's paternity. Felix agreed with Elizabeth because they had no way of knowing what Britt had been up to during the months since Patrick had dumped Britt. Sabrina conceded that Felix and Elizabeth had a point, so she decided to confront Britt. Felix and Elizabeth strongly advised Sabrina against it, but Sabrina ignored them. In the lobby, Patrick demanded to know what Britt was up to. Britt assured him that she was pregnant, but he denied that the baby was his because they'd only had sex one time. Britt chuckled as she reminded Patrick that it only required one time. She confessed that she hadn't been on the birth control pill when they'd had sex in the shower, and she recalled that he hadn't used a condom. Britt thought that she was lucky that she had gotten pregnant instead of picking up a disease. Patrick bristled when Britt suggested that Patrick, more than most, should appreciate how diseases were spread. "What did you just say?" Patrick asked. He wondered if the dig had been directed at Robin. "Of course not," Britt replied, stunned that he would suggest it. Patrick didn't believe her, but he decided that he didn't care because Britt disgusted him. Hurt, Britt reminded Patrick that he hadn't been disgusted when he had slammed her up against the tiles in the shower. Patrick explained that it was because he hadn't known the real Britt then. He suspected that she had intended to hurt as many people as possible by making the announcement as she had. Britt insisted that Patrick hadn't given her any choice because he had abandoned her. Patrick made it clear that he had ended things with Britt because he had caught her mistreating his daughter. Britt insisted that it had been an isolated mistake. She tried to garner sympathy by claiming that she'd had no one to turn to when she had found out about her pregnancy, but Patrick pointed out that it was because Britt was a horrible person and no one liked her. Britt ignored the insult as she assured Patrick that she had tried to tell him about the baby sooner, but he had looked at her with such contempt that she hadn't been able to find the words. Patrick had no idea what Britt was trying to prove, but he promised her that they would not be getting back together. "Child or not," Patrick added. Sabrina walked up as Britt asked if Patrick was prepared to turn his back on his child. Britt spotted Sabrina, so she offered to let Patrick and Sabrina talk. Britt smiled vindictively as she explained that the baby wasn't due for another six months, so Patrick and Britt would have plenty of time to get down to the business of raising the baby. After Britt sauntered away, Patrick began to apologize to Sabrina. Sabrina suggested that perhaps Patrick wasn't the baby's father. Patrick agreed, so he intended to get a paternity test. Sabrina was certain that Britt had hoped that the pregnancy would ruin things between Patrick and Sabrina as well as the Nurses Ball. Patrick refused to let Britt take away from the special night, so he suggested that they return to the ballroom. Sabrina was curious if Patrick thought that they could simply forget what had happened. "No," Patrick admitted, but he thought that they could move past it. Sabrina melted into Patrick's arms as he leaned down to kiss her. In the ballroom, Lucy introduced Molly Lansing-Davis and T.J. Ashford, who had written a song together about mean girls at a private school. Molly wowed the crowd with her singing, while T.J. impressed everyone with his skill on the keyboard. Later, Lucy introduced Epiphany and "The Revelations," who were Monica and Tracy. Epiphany sang "Jump" as everyone began to dance. Tracy and Monica dragged several people to the stage where a Conga line was formed. Michael excused himself when Starr called him. In the hallway, he apologized for the noise then told Starr about his performance with Magic Milo. In the ballroom, the crowd roared with applause as Epiphany's rendition of "Jump" ended. Lucy returned to the stage to announce that Epiphany's act had been the perfect way to close the 2013 Nurses Ball. She thanked everyone for their generous donations as Felix joined her on stage with a large bouquet of flowers, which he presented to Lucy in appreciation for all the work that she had done as their host. Lucy was moved to tears, but she insisted that the Nurses Ball wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been for Sabrina. Everyone applauded as Lucy invited Sabrina to the stage. Sabrina reluctantly went with encouragement from Patrick. However, Sabrina insisted that Emma had been the true driving force behind the Nurses Ball. Patrick carried his daughter on stage, so that Emma could thank everyone. Emma then wondered if Patrick thought that her mother was looking down on them. "I think she's always watching," Patrick admitted. Sabrina suddenly sang a touching song assuring Emma that Emma was not alone. Patrick joined in as the guests gathered around the stage and softly swayed to the heartwarming song. In Dr. Obrecht's hotel suite, Dr. Obrecht looked at a picture of Faison as she confessed that she wished that he could have been there to see their daughter. "Britta would make you a very proud papa," Dr. Obrecht said. She then turned her attention to the television as Britt announced the pregnancy. Dr. Obrecht was disappointed that she couldn't tell Patrick that Robin was alive, but that was Jerry Jacks's surprise, not hers, so she had to wait. Later, Britt returned to her mother's hotel suite as Dr. Obrecht enthusiastically danced to Epiphany's song. Dr. Obrecht quickly sobered when she spotted Britt. Mother and daughter hugged as Dr. Obrecht congratulated Britt's "performance." Britt wondered if her mother had seen the expressions on Patrick and Sabrina's faces. Dr. Obrecht was confident that Britt's "coup de grâce" would tear Patrick and Sabrina apart, but Britt explained that just because she was having the baby didn't mean that she would get Patrick back. Britt had no idea how everything had gone so terribly wrong, but her mother advised her to have patience because it took time for a master plan to unfold. Britt argued that Patrick didn't want Britt or the baby, so he'd never love Britt. Dr. Obrecht was curious if love was all that Britt wanted. Britt admitted that it had been lacking in her childhood, so Britt wanted to be loved by Patrick. Britt feared that she would end up alone like her mother had when Dr. Obrecht had tried to ensnare Faison by getting pregnant. Dr. Obrecht explained that her situation with Faison had been different than things between Britt and Patrick, so she advised Britt to persevere. Britt started to leave, but her mother surprised her by inviting Britt to stay and offering Britt a glass of milk. Dr. Obrecht promised her daughter that everything would work out in the end. 4/15 In Dr. Obrecht's suite, Britt was disappointed when her mother announced that it was time for Dr. Obrecht to return to Switzerland because Dr. Obrecht's patients needed her. Britt admitted that she needed her mother, too, so Dr. Obrecht conceded that she was sorry to be leaving. "That's sweet of you, Mother," Britt replied, prompting her mother to clarify that sweetness had nothing too do with it. Dr. Obrecht explained that she couldn't ensure that Britt wouldn't undo all of the progress that Britt and Britt's fetus had made with Patrick if she and Britt were on two separate continents. Britt's smile faded as she reminded her mother that Patrick was disgusted with Britt and didn't want Britt back. Dr. Obrecht insisted that Patrick just needed time, but Britt argued that Patrick wanted Sabrina, so Patrick would leave Britt to raise the baby alone, just like Britt's mother intended to leave. "Stop this incessant whining, or I will give you something to cry about," Dr. Obrecht growled. Dr. Obrecht ordered Britt to pull herself together, so Britt defended herself by explaining that Britt was a human being with feelings. Dr. Obrecht was curious if Britt thought that Dr. Obrecht didn't have feelings. "Not that I've noticed," Britt answered. Dr. Obrecht revealed that she was hard on Britt because she wanted her daughter to stand on her own two feet, but Britt had heard the lecture before. Dr. Obrecht suggested that Britt take it to heart and reel Patrick back in, so Britt explained that she wanted a genuine relationship with Patrick, which meant that Britt couldn't treat the situation with Patrick like one of her mother's clinical trials by setting an objective and following the steps to see it through to its conclusion. Dr. Obrecht explained that that was exactly what Britt had to do because Dr. Obrecht couldn't lead Britt by the hand. Dr. Obrecht was confident that her daughter could win Patrick back, no matter what he had told Britt. Britt scoffed, so Dr. Obrecht suggested that Britt turn her eyes toward the baby growing inside of Britt's belly. Britt rubbed her rounded stomach as Dr. Obrecht assured Britt that the baby gave Britt all of the power that Britt needed, but Britt had to learn how to use it by formulating a plan that would hit Patrick from an angle that he wouldn't expect. "Use the element of surprise," Dr. Obrecht urged her daughter. Britt assured her mother that she understood. Satisfied, Dr. Obrecht smiled. "Mein liebes Kind," Dr. Obrecht told her daughter, "Don't disappoint me or your father." Britt promised not to because she knew what she had to do.
Dr. Obrecht was pleased and confessed that she was looking forward to being an "Oma" to the little one. Dr. Obrecht expected Britt and the baby to visit, so Britt assured her that they would. Dr. Obrecht announced that it was time for her to return home and for Britt to go to war. Moments later, Dr. Obrecht left. At the hospital, Patrick was about to call Sabrina when she arrived for work. Patrick smiled as he noticed that she had kept her new look. Sabrina admitted that she had promised Felix that she would give it a try for a while, but confessed that it had taken her forever to put the contacts in. Patrick assured her that he liked her glasses, but he conceded that she had beautiful eyes. Sabrina smiled then gently asked him how he had been holding up. He admitted that he was still trying to make sense of everything, so Sabrina was curious how Emma was doing. Patrick revealed that his daughter hadn't been able to stop talking about the Nurses Ball and the performance with Sabrina. Sabrina insisted that Emma had been the star, while Sabrina had merely been along for the ride. The conversation then turned serious as Sabrina reminded Patrick that they had to talk about Britt's pregnancy. Patrick agreed, but he assured Sabrina that he wouldn't let anything jeopardize what he had with Sabrina because he was certain about his feelings for her and eager to see where their relationship would lead them. Sabrina admitted that she felt overwhelmed, but in a good way. However, she had to get ready for her shift, so she and Patrick would have to continue their discussion later. Patrick promised to catch up with her after he dropped Noah off at the airport. He kissed her and then left. Felix smiled as he walked up because he had seen the kiss. Sabrina confessed that she had never thought that she could be so happy. Felix knew that Sabrina was troubled by Britt's unexpected announcement during the Nurses Ball. Felix confessed that Britt hadn't seemed the type that would ruin her body with pregnancy and stretch marks. "But when in doubt, use the tried and true," Felix added. Sabrina was shocked at the suggestion that Britt had gotten pregnant on purpose when there hadn't been any reason for Britt to fear losing Patrick. Sabrina reminded Felix that Britt and Patrick had been dating when Britt had gotten pregnant and that Britt had done everything in her power to keep Sabrina and Patrick apart. "That's the point," Felix argued. Felix was certain that Britt intended to use "that little monster" growing inside of Britt to rip Sabrina and Patrick apart. "Really?" Britt asked as she set her purse down at the nurses' station. Britt was curious if Felix thought that the precious life growing inside of Britt was a monster. Felix looked ashamed as he confessed that he hadn't seen Britt. "Obviously," Britt replied. Britt assured Sabrina that, contrary to popular opinion, Britt didn't have any intention of using the baby to cause trouble between Sabrina and Patrick. Felix wondered why Britt had decided to make the announcement at the Nurses Ball during Patrick's tribute to Robin. Britt claimed that she had thought that Patrick would want to know, but Sabrina argued that it should have been done privately. "Why wait?" Britt asked. Britt was curious if Sabrina's relationship with Patrick was so fragile that the baby might damage it. Britt didn't wait for an answer because she wondered where Patrick was. Britt offered a saccharine smile as she explained that she needed to talk to Patrick about their child. At the airport, Noah urged Patrick not to let Britt ruin Patrick's relationship with Sabrina. Patrick assured his father that he wouldn't then confessed that he was grateful that Noah had encouraged Patrick to go after Sabrina. Noah bragged that he was older and wiser than Patrick, so Patrick asked if there was a Sabrina out there for Noah. Noah tried to change the subject, but Patrick became distracted when Dr. Obrecht dropped something as she passed Patrick and Noah. Patrick was unaware of Dr. Obrecht's connection to Britt as he called out to her so he could return the item that she had dropped. Dr. Obrecht thanked Patrick for his gallantry then asked if he was Patrick Drake. Patrick confirmed that he was, so Dr. Obrecht confessed that she had been moved by Patrick's speech about his wife during the Nurses Ball, which she had watched on television. Patrick tensed when she congratulated Patrick on the new baby. She confided that she and her daughter had agreed that he seemed like he would be a wonderful father. After Dr. Obrecht walked away, Noah confessed that there had been something strange about the woman. Patrick agreed. Noah shifted gears by deciding to grab a bite to eat before his flight, so Patrick bid his father farewell then left. A short time later, Bobbie arrived for her flight. She was pleasantly surprised when she bumped into Noah. Noah revealed that he was leaving town to report to his new job at Seattle General. Bobbie was stunned because she worked at the same hospital. "I know," Noah replied. Meanwhile, Patrick wasn't pleased when he returned to the hospital and saw Britt talking to Sabrina and Felix. Patrick wondered why Britt was there when she hadn't been scheduled to work. Britt explained that she needed to talk to Patrick, so she suggested that they go somewhere private. Patrick refused. Sabrina tried to defuse the tension by announcing that she and Felix had to get ready for their shift. Patrick reached for Sabrina's hand as she passed him to let her know that he would talk to her later. After Sabrina walked away, Britt assured Patrick that their baby wouldn't cause any trouble between Patrick and Sabrina. "Because I've decided not to have it," Britt explained.
