Paul Hornsby tells Robert he has a court order halt to raising the ELQ Tracy. Robert is curious how Paul was able to finagle this? Paul reports that since the PCBs have been removed that it is no longer a danger to the environment. This whole conversation annoys Robert. Robert goes to find Mac in his new community service at the rehab center. Mac is curious how Robert's trip went? Robert comments that he does have other criminals to deal with (so basically that his life doesn't revolve around Mac). Mac then queries if he got lucky at Wilma's? Robert meets Anna in his office and wants to know if she told Mac he was going to Wilma's. She says no that she just asked him about it and she isn't convinced that Mac has tried to kill him. Anna is leaving to cook dinner for Robert, and he nervously offers to have dinner catered! (LOL!) As Anna is trying to cook dinner, Robin comes in and is also worried and offers to help. Anna insists she is fine, so Robin begins asking her about Mac. She wants to know if he is a bad person and what happened between Robert and him. Anna says she doesn't think he is a bad person that the people at the rehab center seem to like him. Anna surmises that she believes that there was an accident or something that happened that caused the rift between Mac and Robert. Anna doesn't seem as suspicious of Mac. Robin shows up to see Mac at the rehab center, Mac is happy to see her and introduces her to Finian. Robert comes in and orders Robin home and tells Mac to stay away from his daughter and he won't tell him again! Anna has set a beautiful table, she looks gorgeous, and everything seems to be coming together nicely for her romantic dinner. Mac shows up at the door, bringing her a single rose. Anna is sorry to be rude but asks him to leave as she is expecting company. He offers to answer all of her and Robin's questions. Robert enters bearing a dozen roses and is not happy to see Mac there. He thinks that Anna set this up. He orders Mac out, and asks Olin to take Robin for a walk. He then begins to interrogate Anna about why Mac was there. He tells her this reeks of her sweet double cross. She gets ticked that as soon as there is trouble he suspects her and if he wants to talk about Paris and their past then she isn't interested. She continues that she did not invite Mac. He says he knows how curious she is and that Mac will use her to try to get to Robert through Anna. He warns her that Mac will be subtle, and easy. He tells her that she will wind up telling Mac everything just like she told him about the Portland trip. She gets angry and says she made a mistake and is this what life is going to be like? Going over the same thing again and again? If so she isn't interested, what about her? What about their daughter? Robert tells her they have come to far and he doesn't know how many chances you get in life but he doesn't want to lose her. He turns to go, she follows him crying out to him in tears, "I don't want to lose you either." He asks if she can love him without knowing his past? She responds, "Yes, if you can love me knowing mine." They embrace and hold each other, both frightened at the thought of losing their new relationship. The next day they are having lunch out together, and he says he knows he has been like a dog with a bone but assures her that he does want a future with her and they will have a future together. She asks if he has any second thoughts about her. He jokes that he has had third, fourths. He pretty much gives her yes and no answers as she is trying to talk about their feelings and she gets annoyed. She tells him they have to deal with their feelings as she doesn't want the past always bubbling up between them. He agrees though she gets annoyed at the one word answer. Robert is looking at jewelry at Wyndham's and finds Mac tailing him. Mac says that if he were really following Robert that Robert would never know about it. Mac asks if his presence ruined his dinner the night before? Robert assures him that nothing he could do would cause a problem for him and Anna. He gets cruel and makes a comment about Mac shouldn't be allowed to leave, and Mac actually looks hurt. He shakes his head and says that Robert is "an ogre with a badge and someone should put you out to pasture permanently". Robert then runs into Anna checking out lingerie. He gives her the little jewelry box (which fans are hoping is a ring); it is key with a silver heart chain. She jokes that it is a key to his heart, he says no to his apartment and he wants her to know she doesn't every have to feel alone. Robert is in his office and is humming, in an unusually jovial mood, as he shaves preparing for the evening. Guy comes in and Robert asks him to be on call tonight and warns him he doesn't want to be interrupted for any circumstances unless its Guy's imminent death! Anna is nervously getting ready, looking gorgeous, in a red outfit. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the evening will go as planned as a black gloved figure is rigging something up in the elevator of Robert's apartment. As Anna walks towards Robert's, Mac surprises her. He apologizes for the previous night and hopes it didn't cause her any trouble. She says it did but that isn't like anything else he did. She warns him to stay away from Robin as Robert is very protective over his family and she is as well. He tells her he isn't a bad guy once she gets to know him. Then he hits on her, tells her she is a special lady and if things don't work out with Robert that he is interested! She looks at him in disgust as he tries to get her to blow off Robert and hang out with him. He comments that surely she can find something better to do than be with Robert, and she says no honestly she can't think of a thing and walks off. Meanwhile, Robert gets a bottle of brandy from the closed Delafield's (leaving an I owe you note). He has a drink and toasts to the future. He then enters the elevator and the wiring pops, sparks go off, and an electrical fire starts, the elevator begins filling with smoke. Robert tries to pop the roof of the elevator to get out. Frisco comes upon Anna as she is headed towards Robert and asks her if she picked up some tips from the girls at Wilma's. A protective Frisco makes sure that she is actually going to see Robert. He then offers her the use of his handcuffs. He promises if he sees smoke pouring out of the building that he won't tell a sole (meaning because of the heat between the two of them, not referring to the dire circumstance Robert finds himself in. Anna enters Robert's building and when the elevator door opens, smoke pours out and Robert is lying on the floor from smoke inhalation. Anna gives him mouth-to-mouth; the paramedics arrive, as does Frisco who gets the call. Robert comes to and refuses to go to the hospital and wants to begin investigating immediately. Robert is furious as his evening is ruined and this time was a bit too close for comfort as this attempt almost succeeded. He tells Anna that she saved his miserable life! She corrects him that she has saved his life twice now. Frisco insists that he is the investigating officer and he will be taking over the case. Robert gives in and joins Anna upstairs. Anna has found a maritime button and Robert takes this as evidence that Mac was behind this latest attempt. Anna tells him that this is just proof that Robert can't go after Mac alone. Robert doesn't want Anna involved and insists on helping him. Robert refuses her help, as he doesn't want her in danger. She accuses him of not really wanting them to have a future and if he thinks they can continue this way he is sadly mistaken. Anna calls Sean in for reinforcement, though when Sean gets there Robert refuses his help as well as he doesn't want his friends winding up as targets. Anna is worried that Robert is only focusing on Mac and that the killer is actually someone else, she really doesn't think it was Mac and the button could have been planted. Anna also wants Frisco protecting Robert as well, and reminds Robert that the three of them were a good team once and promises him that he won't regret it. He says he already does. Sean reminds him this isn't the first time that they have risked their lives for each other and most likely won't be the last! They have a kinda of three musketeers bonding moment. Robert will have Mac put under 24-hour surveillance. Frisco shows up and reports that no one on the docks saw anything and the arson investigation is ongoing. He orders Frisco back to his beat, Sean objects and says he thought they agreed that Frisco would be Robert's personal bodyguard. Frisco points out that if the police officers find out about these attempts on his life that other cops will be lining up to offer to help and protect Robert. He accuses them of blackmailing him into accepting Frisco's protection. Later, Robert and Anna are snuggled up together kissing on the couch. Frisco returns and insists that he is going to keep constant watch on Robert and refuses to leave. Anna realizes he is right and Robert's safety is the most important thing. The next day, Anna and Sean ask Frisco for the files on the ELQ Tracy sabotage, as they believe it is linked to the attempts on Robert's life. Frisco returns later and says that the government now owns Wilma's as it was seized for back taxes. They decide to focus on the list of crewmembers that are still in town and begin interviewing them. Frisco goes into overprotective mode and begins driving Robert crazy as he insists on checking his chair for explosive devices, then pulls a gun on the janitor as he is moping the floor, then he draws the blinds in the office. Robert wants to know if he is trying to protect him from UV rays? Robert is insistent that Frisco leave to have lunch with his wife and agrees when Anna arrives. Anna brings a picnic lunch and she reminds him of a moment from their spy past, complete with flashback. Anna suggests they go away for the weekend. Robert points out that Sean and Frisco will never agree. She says she will be his bodyguard and he smiles that she is much better looking than his current guard. He sweeps her into his arms and tells her how much he needs her; he kisses her and asks her how soon she can be packed and ready. They giggle at the thought of running off to be alone together like two teenagers. After Anna leaves, Frisco comes in and tells Robert he has to attend a meeting but will be right back and Robert agrees to be in his office when he returns. Anna is at home, packing, and Olin asks if the Commish is going on the business trip as well? Olin realizes this is a romantic getaway, "sugar time". Anna says they are going to Lake George in the Adirondacks. Anna is very excited about room service, and smiles that they don't even have to leave the room. She makes Olin promise not to tell Robin who would be calling them every day. Robert is packing his briefcase and then decides he isn't going to be working on this trip. The arson investigator arrives and tells him the cause was metal fatigue so no evidence of arson. Robert tells him it was inspected three months ago; the investigator says in that case it was a very clever arsonist who wanted to make it look like something else. A bomb is thrown into Robert's office (Robert has raised the blinds) and he is sent flying as it explodes. The paramedics are taking Robert away as Anna arrives. They report Robert is unconscious and unresponsive. She insists on going in the ambulance and they ask if she is his wife. When she says no, another cop says she is family. Remy calls Frisco and tells him about that bomb and he rushes out to the PCPD.
Sean and Tiffany arrive at GH and Sean tries to calm a hysterical Anna. She is
furious that Frisco left him alone. Poor Frisco arrives at Robert's office and
is very somber as he looks at the destruction (sorry is it just me but if there
have been two attempts on your life why would you continue to work in a first
floor office with a window that opens to the street and leave the blinds open?).
Felicia arrives and tries to comfort Frisco as he feels responsible, as Robert's
safety was his responsibility. They both snap out of angry mode, Tiffany says she is sorry that she is just worried about Robert. They both make nice, both sharing their worries over Robert's condition. Tiffany continues with her news report. Mac is having a drink at the hotel bar, hears the news report and rushes out. Mac makes a call to GH and tries to get an update on Robert's condition. The nurse refuses to give him any information as there is no indication of Robert having a brother on his next of kin information. The nurse bluntly tells Mac that Robert Scorpio doesn't have a brother. Frisco arrives at GH, when Anna sees him her eyes fill
with tears and she flies at Frisco, pounding on his chest with her fists that he
wasn't supposed to leave Robert, that he was supposed to be with him 24 hours a
day, this wasn't supposed to happen, Frisco was supposed to protect him. Frisco
obviously guilt ridden apologizes, then Anna collapses into his arms sobbing,
saying over and over that she is sorry to him. Mac has snuck into a supply room
and takes some doctor scrubs. Anna sits by Robert's bedside crying, begging him
to wake up, he is in critical condition. Robin wakes up from a nightmare and wants her mother. Olin assures her that Anna is with her father and they are off having a romantic weekend. Anna consults with Monica for an update on Robert's condition which is unchanged and they are waiting to see how extensive the damage is, Felicia arrives to comfort Anna and she sadly tells Felicia about their romantic getaway plans. Anna continues to wait for any sign of improvement as tears stream down her face, Felicia stays by her side. Frisco takes Mac into jail and he swears he had nothing to do with it and demands to see his brother, Frisco is just barely able to restrain himself with Mac. Monica visits Robert to check on him and begs him get better or he will make her look bad. Tiffany breaks down while trying to do a news report and Sean comforts her. He can't believe that after all of Robert's adventures that Robert would end up like this and he shares his fears of losing his best friend. Anna overhears this and lays into him telling him to get out that she doesn't want to hear him talking like Robert is already dead! Anna asks Frisco to tell Robin about what happened. She goes to Robert and confides to him how much she
loves him and tells him that she has hit Frisco, yelled at Sean and Tiffany,
been rude to Felicia, and even Steve Hardy the nicest man in the world. Finally
Robert wakes up and tells Anna that she looks dreadful, she responds, "So
do you!" Anna fills Robert in on the bomb, on Mac trying to sneak into the
hospital and being arrested. Mac has an arraignment and the judge is not at all
sympathetic and denies him bail. Robert is still having an irregular heartbeat,
which if they don't find the right medication to control it could be lethal.
Robin arrives to visit and is worried about her dad. Monica updates them about
his progress and their work on stabilizing his heart. Robin wants to know if her
dad is going to die? She doesn't believe the assurances and cries that everyone
is lying to her because they still think she is a kid and she runs off. Robert finally tells Anna about his history with Mac, wanting her to know in case he doesn't make it. He begins to tell her about an airplane trip, I think Mac was flying Robert, his finance, and their parents and the plane crashed. He begins to get very upset and is having a great deal of abdominal pain and he is rushed into emergency surgery (before he finishes his story). Felicia arrives to sit with Anna as the surgeons work to save Robert's life. No one knows where Robin is as she didn't return home. Sean and Frisco discuss the investigation and Sean encourages Frisco to keep an open mind about who is responsible until they have further proof about it being Mac. Frisco runs into Robin and she confesses to him that she went to the PCPD to see Mac that she had to look him in the eye. Anna tells Robin that Robert had to go into surgery. Robin wants reassurance that he is going to be okay. Anna is honest and says she doesn't know for sure, that they just have to wait and pray, but Anna believes they will be a family again. As Sean waits for word, Finian sits down next to him and subtly tries to question him, and notices how closely he is guarding the puzzle box. He returns to the jail and tells Mac about the puzzle box. Monica comes out of surgery and tells Anna that he made it through surgery and is in recovery. Anna begs to see him for just a minute, Monica agrees for just a moment and makes Anna promise not to make a sound as he can't be disturbed. Anna is finally encouraged to go lay down and rest. Robert wakes up and asks Frisco to get Sean and tell him to bring the puzzle box. When Sean arrives, Robert wants him to open the puzzle box just in case Robert doesn't make it. Sean finds Robert's bracelet and he tells him that Mac has a matching one. Robert then tells him to read the piece of paper, Sean is puzzled as the paper is blank. Robert becomes extremely upset that his evidence is missing and goes into cardiac arrest. Monica and her team work on reviving him. Sean tells Frisco about Robert's reaction and what caused him to become so upset. Sean is upset with himself for bringing the box to Robert. There are some very tense moments as the medical team works desperately to save Robert's life. Anna comes back to see Robert and becomes hysterical when they tell her that Robert stopped breathing, it takes three of the guys to restrain her from bursting in his room. Anna goes to see Mac and tells him that he may have
killed his brother. He can't believe that she would actually believe he would
try to kill his own brother. She says Robert told her that he killed their
parents. He is shocked that Robert told her that. She says he was flying the
plane that crashed and his parents died and asks if he denies that? He just
shakes his head that he can't believe Robert is telling people that he killed
his parents. She warns him that if Robert dies she will be coming after Mac. Scotty is Mac's defense attorney, he asks Sean to
investigate the attempts on Robert's life to find out who the real killer is.
Sean knows that Anna isn't going to like it but he agrees to pursue the
investigation as he knows they need additional evidence against Mac and Sean is
still concerned that Mac isn't the killer which leaves Robert vulnerable if it
is someone else. Robert is obviously feeling better as he starts throwing his
weight as the police commissioner around attempting to get access to a
telephone. When Anna arrives, Robert tries to sweet talk her into taking him home. He is going crazy and laying about doing nothing is not his style. She to cooperate and tells him he isn't going anywhere until he is well and he is to focus on getting better. He asks her to call Guy and whispers in her ear what he wants her to ask him. She seems unsure about whether to do so but does agree. Robin comes in as they are kissing and asks if they are supposed to be doing that. When Guy arrives, the nurse demands that someone leave as there are too many people in the room. Anna and Robin leave Robert alone to talk with Guy. He asks him if he brought the items he requested? Guy says yes they are with the guards and Robert asks him to bring them to him but not to let the nurse see him. When Frisco comes to see Robert, Robert comments on Frisco not spending much time on his beat. Frisco explains that he has been following a lead on the explosives and he found the permit and who sold the explosives to the people who killed him. He continues that he found a piece of denim fiber on the window that matches Mac's pants. Robert asks Frisco for his badge, Frisco thinks he is being fired and defends that his actions were only to protect Robert. He can't believe Robert is going to fire him and he hands over his badge. Robert hands him a package, its a gold shield detective's badge. Frisco and Guy bring in the witness for the police lineup but with the suspects wearing a hat and dark sunglasses they all look very much alike. The witness picks out one of the cops as the suspected explosive purchaser. After the lineup, Frisco and Sean argue about Mac being responsible for the attempts on Robert's life. Frisco is annoyed that Sean doesn't also believe that Mac is responsible and Frisco points out that everyone else, all of Robert's friends and co-workers believe it is Mac. Frisco asks Tiffany for airtime to try to find an eyewitness to any of the previous attempts on Robert's life. Sean comes along the discussion and accuses Frisco of having a vendetta against Mac. Robert sneaks a call to Frisco on his contraband cell
phone, when he sees the nurse headed in he tells Frisco he has to hide him under
the pillow. Frisco says he will call him back but Robert warns him not to call
him under any circumstances as if his phone rings he is dead! Frisco fills
Robert in on the lineup and his plans for a news report. Anna comes in and sees
him on the phone and that he is upset and she tries to take the cell phone away
from him. Anna is visiting Robert the morning of Mac's hearing. Robert wants to know when he can get out of the hospital, Anna says there is no word. Robert is happy that his cranky nurse has been moved after he has complained. The replacement nurse is Nurse Ratchet (ah actually Nurse Strict land) and she puts him immediately in his place and tells him to keep his mouth shut, to do what he is told, and not to give her any grief. #2B At Mac's hearing, Frisco testifies that Mac attacked him and Chief Lewis with no provocation. Scotty cross-examines and accuses Frisco of having a personal vendetta against Mac and accuses him of police brutality. The next witness testifies that he saw Mac outside of Wyndham's the night of the attempted shooting there. The next witness testifies about the large amount of money that Mac picked up from a wire transfer. Anna calls Robert to give him an update on the hearing, but Nurse Strickland comes in and he has to hide the phone. She is suspicious that he is so jumpy, she then tells him its time for his sponge bath, and he is less than thrilled. The hearing continues and the next witness describes how Mac offered to help her stock one day at GH and that was the day he stole the scrubs and snuck into Robert's room. The undercover cop (who plays Toby on the West Wing!) reports that while he was following Mac, he gave him the slip just before the bombing of Robert's office. Anna testifies about the day that Mac attempted to sneak into Robert's hospital room. Scotty cross examines her and establishes Robert's prior animosity towards Mac and that Robert convinced her that Mac was trying to kill. Scotty accuses her of having a vendetta against Mac and she is biased by her feelings for Robert and he gets her to admit she is in love with Robert. Anna calls Robert to fill him in and is worried that
she hurt the case. Robert wants to know how she thinks it is going? Anna says
that it is maybe 50-50. Nurse Strickland came in and catches Robert on the phone
and she grabs the phone and tells Anna, "This phone is permanently
disconnected!" The hearing resumes with the next witness also seeing Mac
outside of Wyndham's. The state rests their case and the judge determines that
there is a great deal of circumstantial evidence with no actual eye witnesses,
however as Mac has had ample opportunity and motive that he will be held over
for trial. Robert is moved out of CICU into a regular hospital room. Stubborn Robert refuses Anna's help to get into bed, his IV cords get tangled and he finally admits he needs her help. The orderly brings his breakfast and shows him the daily newspaper with headlines about Mac and fratricide. Robert is annoyed and wants up and out. Anna pushes him back into bed, and demands he eat his breakfast. He realizes that she means business and stops arguing. Monica comes in and he is further upset to learn that he has to stay another week. He tries to throw his weight around and his importance of being a police commish and he has work to do, important calls to attend to. Monica doesn't care and isn't impressed and she gets tough with him and tells him he is only feeling better because of the medication. Robert does however get a hospital phone and immediately calls Lewis to get an update on the investigation. When Frisco comes in, Robert wants an update from him and gets frustrated when no one will tell him what is going on. He has paged Anna and she comes running into the room thinking something has happened and he tells her he needs her to take notes as he and Frisco are going to work on the case. Nurse Strickland comes in and takes away his phone, tells him he is a sick man and he is going to rest, and makes Frisco leave. Sean comes to visit Robert but Monica says he can't at the moment. Sean wants to ask if it's all visitors or just him? Scotty wants Sean's help in punching holes in the witness testimony. Frisco overhears and he is absolutely disgusted with Sean for standing in the middle of the hospital discussing Mac's defense. Anna brings Robin to visit him and brings him a hand held electronic game for him to play. Robert does get Anna to plug in his phone. The orderly comes in and Robert complains bitterly about his food and says it looks disgusting and gives the poor orderly a hard time. Anna tells him that if Robert doesn't eat his lunch that she will have Nurse Strickland personally feed it to him. Meanwhile, the nurse talks to Monica and Steve Hardy about how difficult Robert has been and how he has alienated all of the staff. Monica suggests that they release Robert and get him a home care nurse (we just know who is going to be assigned to him! Robert really does try to relax and watch TV, and play the game Robin brought him but he just can't stand not knowing what is going on. He calls the switchboard again trying to get his messages and Nurse Strickland comes in and takes the phone away and tells him she will be right back to give him an enema. Robert decides this is the time to make his escape and creates a ruckus out in the hallway as the orderly has to get him back to his room. Steve and Monica watch is behavior and Steve agrees that it is time to send Robert home. Sean asks Anna if Robert is still mad at him? Anna suggests he just give him some time. When Anna tells Sean that Robert is expected to go home within the next couple of days, Sean tells her he doesn't believe Robert will be safe at home. Sean tells her that the more he investigates the case the more he believes that Mac is not the killer and that the killer is still out there and its someone who would like to take Robert out. He wants Anna to have a guard on Robert 24 hours a day. Sean continues to work on the case and is discovers that one of the witnesses wasn't wearing his glasses and really can't be sure if he saw Mac outside of Wyndham's. Anna tells Monica that she will volunteer to be his nurse and that way she can also serve as his bodyguard. Robin is thrilled that her dad is going to be released and laughs as she asks if they are kicking him out? Anna warns her that she doesn't want her spending a lot of time around Robert as its too dangerous as there may still be someone out there who wants to hurt him. Robin wants to know who? Why? Anna lightens it up by remarking that as nasty as he has been to the hospital staff that any number of them could have taken out a contract on him. Robert is not happy to find a hospital bed sitting in his living room and orders her to send it back. He wants to have a shower and a glass of wine. She says he can't have any wine with the medication he is taking and informs him that she is his nurse that the hospital wouldn't let him out unless she volunteered. Anna tells him the locks have been changed, and there is a new intercom system so visitors have to be announced. He is a little worried when she says she is going to fix lunch and mumbles that he survived the operation only to die of malnutrition. She brings him non-fat yogurt and a salad. He complains about the petrified carrot and she admits she hasn't had time to shop. He observes that she did have time to rip holes in his wall to install the intercom system. Robert hides his pill, fakes being in pain, and Anna helps him into bed as he grumbles the entire time about not being able to get into his own bed. Anna sits on the couch and when she moves a cushion she discovers the pill that Robert has hidden and forces him to take it. Seriously, she plugs his noise and shoves it in his mouth. Sean goes over all of the attempts on Robert and the evidence against Mac. He insists that it just doesn't make any sense. He knows that Mac and Robert have a blood feud going way back but he just doesn't believe that is going to be enough motive for Mac to try to kill his own brother. Sean tells Scotty that he doesn't give a damn if Mac is happy or unhappy, he is just trying to make sure that no one else can get to Robert. Robert is thrilled to see Guy and Frisco stop by. They tell Robert that the guy who bought the explosives never showed up at the job they were for. The guy dumped his truck just outside of Port Charles. Robert wants to get his clothes on and help in the investigation. Anna tells Guy and Frisco it is time to leave and orders Robert to stay in bed and tells him that he is acting like a spoiled brat. She offers to make him dinner, he suggests they order out. She insists she will make him dinner and when she goes into the kitchen, he tries to make a break for it and the alarm sounds on the front door. Tiffany arrives bearing a gift from Sean, its Robert's favorite bottle of wine. Tiffany wants to discuss Sean and tells Robert that he has been very unfair to Sean that Sean has been his friend for a long time and has always looked out for him. Robert defends that Sean is helping Scotty and his skuzzy brother. Tiffany tells Robert that they both want the same thing, Sean is just not entirely convinced that Mac is the murderer. She asks if Sean does find that someone else is the real murderer and if he is arrested and Mac goes free would Robert still be holding a grudge? He admits she has a point. Robert continues to give Anna a hard time, then offers to give her a back rub and has her lay down beside him in bed. As soon as her head hits the pillow she immediately falls asleep. Sean goes to see Frisco who asks him if he is sleeping well? Frisco is quite annoyed that Sean is helping the man who is accused of trying to kill Robert. Sean states that he is trying to protect Robert and insists on speaking to Mac alone. Sean questions Mac and asks him if he ever had the feeling that someone was following him? Sean suspects that Robert's assailant might have been following Mac to get a feel for his routine. Mac likes the idea but when he suggests that maybe Robert had him followed to set him up, Sean reams him and tells him he is not doing this to clear Mac but to protect Robert! Anna is carrying a gun, though Robert asks her to put it away. She just wants him to know that she can protect him. He kisses her and blesses the day that he found her, and again and again. He tells her that he is just anxious and wants to end this whole miserable mess so he can be a family man. He wants a grilled cheese sandwich and he starts to tell her how to make one. She indignantly says she knows how, then asks if she should put oil in the pan? While she is cooking, he calls Frisco and tells him he is going crazy and to stop and pick up a dartboard for him. Anna falls asleep, Frisco shows up with the dartboard and they start playing for $1 a point. Anna wakes up while they are playing and is ticked that he is out of bed and asks if Frisco cares anything about him? Anna bets him that if she can beat his final score that he has to go back to bed. She throws three bull's eye darts and he is off to bed. He doesn't eat the lunch she makes and is very quiet and she assumes that he is annoyed that she beat him in darts. She starts to unpack his suitcase and asks him why he asked Sean to bring it to him? Robert tells her that after the death of his parents that he kept an extensive record of his brother's whereabouts as he suspected he was a mercenary. Robert knows that Mac has taken the record as that is Robert's proof against him. Anna suggests that he try to recreate it, Robert responds that he has tried but is unable to. She points out that since Robert helped him put together the original list that he should ask for Sean's help. He snarks that Sean is too busy helping his brother. Anna defends that Sean is only trying to make sure that there isn't someone else out there that is after Robert. When Sean arrives, Robert fills him in that the Aussie that Sean helped Robert track a couple of years ago was actually Mac. Robert remembers there was some kind of a connection with Portland. He tells Sean the list is missing and tells Sean that his memory isn't great with all of the pills he has been taking. Sean remembers that while Mac was in Portland he worked for a company with a flower name. Frisco arrives with a list of all of the manufacturing firms in Portland. The four of them split up the extensive list, Robert discovers it, "The Iris Company". They book Frisco on a midnight flight to Portland. Robert thanks Sean for his help. Sean tells him he will continue his investigation until he is sure that there isn't anyone else out there that is gunning for Robert. Frisco surprisingly softens and offers to give Sean a lift home. Frisco goes to Portland and interviews the wife of the
owner of the company Mac worked for. She says that everyone loved her husband
except for Mac. Mac was the worker rep and he never got along with her husband.
The plant ran into financial trouble and her husband thought the only way out
was to declare bankruptcy but Mac fought him tooth and nail. She believes that
Mac wanted to see her husband fail and that he even organized the workers
against him. When her husband continued with his plans, she tells him that she
believes that Mac killed her husband with a car bomb made of plastique. Anna asks Olin to take Robin to her family to keep her out of danger. Scotty questions Mac about the evidence Frisco has uncovered about Mac's past and Scotty is suspicious of Mac's mercenary past. Mac insists that he didn't kill the guy in Portland, and didn't blow up the ship and didn't try to kill Robert. In a shocking twist, Paul comes to talk to Mac under the guise of helping Jenny's friend, turns out Paul is actually the guy who hired Mac to jam the valves. Mac says he didn't use explosives and wants to know who did? Anna gets an anonymous call that threatens her life if she testifies against Mac. When Robert learns of this, he sneaks out and rappels over his balcony to escape. He confronts Mac in jail and Mac does seem concerned about Anna. Robert is furious over her being threatened and offers Mac a lighter sentence in exchange for the name of who Mac is working for. Mac does goad Robert by pointing out that if Anna doesn't testify there is no case. Robert goes ballistic and lunges for Mac and grabs him through the bars. Robert gets so upset, he collapses. In the next scene, he is being wheeled back into his apartment and Anna is very upset with him for sneaking out and he gets the silent treatment. Robert tells her he has to find out who Mac is working for or they will be looking over their shoulder for the rest of their lives. He did it because he loves her and wants to keep her safe, he can't comprehend the idea of losing her. He begins kissing her and tells her how much he wants her. She pulls away and says it isn't good for him, and he quips, "Of course it is." Finola breaks character for just a moment as she starts cracking up at this obvious adlib, she quickly pulls it back to the serious mood that Anna is in. Anna is cleaning off Robert's desk and organizing and putting things away and it's driving him crazy as he won't be able to find anything. He takes a kind, only caring about her welfare approach, and suggests she needs a day out. He finally talks her into it and while she is at breakfast at Kelly's, Frisco walks in as he has been assigned to guard her all day. She is most annoyed that she can't have a day to herself and that Robert is so overprotective. However, it goes both ways as she has sent Nurse Strickland to baby-sit him. When Sean arrives, she bosses them both around, makes them lunch that neither seem interested in actually eating. Scotty has Robert served with a restraining order to stay away from Mac. Anna has an English tea and Frisco is not thrilled with the portions. She then has to stop at the bank and while there a bank robber knocks Frisco out, grabs her at gunpoint, shoots a security guard when he makes a grab for the gun. Robert hears on the police band about the robbery and that Anna Lavery is the hostage. Robert heads out the door but Sean grabs him and tells him he can't go. Felicia is at home and hears that Frisco is in the bank involved in the bank robbery in progress. When Frisco comes to, he pulls his gun on the robber but is forced to give up his gun. He talks to the robber and works his way closer till he is able to jump the gunman and wrestle the gun away from him. Robert is very relieved when Anna walks through the door. She says she wants champagne and he orders some from Angel. He grabs her and tells her that she scared the hell out of him and kisses her. The next morning, Anna leaves Robert a note while he is sleeping and takes off. The note falls to the floor and the dog (first time we have seen the poor dog in months, Robert makes a comment about him being locked in a bedroom! <LOL>) grabs the note and carries it around. Robert wakes up to find Nurse Strickland there and no sign of Anna. Sean arrives and Robert vents about Anna's carelessness running around after she has been threatened. Robert has an APB put out on Anna. Robert is awful to the nurse and she finally quits in a huff. Mac calls Robert and taunts him that he will be out soon. Robert takes this as a veiled threat that he has had something done to Anna to prevent her from testifying. Robert growls that if he hurts Anna that there is nowhere he can hide, nowhere he can go, and that Robert will find him. Meanwhile, Anna is in disguise as a man wearing a raincoat and a hat, with her hair tucked under the hat, making her way around Port Charles and goes to see Robin. When she returns to the penthouse dressed as a man, Robert thinks she is an intruder and knocks her out. He is astounded to discover its Anna! He accuses her of drugging him so she could sneak out. She insists she didn't drug him and she left him a note. He tells her that she scared the hell out of him. He doesn't want to deal with the thought of losing her again. She warns him he can't get rid of her if he tries. He gently caresses her face and tells her he loves her, and kisses her tenderly. He sweeps her up in his arms and carries her off to the bedroom and she beings taking off her clothes. She changes into a negligee and comes to bed and the FINALLY make love (I'm talking six years since she has been on the show!). One of Mac's rehab center buddies is arrested and she gives him a key to his cell. Mac is upset when the key doesn't fit and upsets his escape plans however he gets another chance when the ground begins to shake, EARTHQUAKE! The jail is damaged and Mac is able to escape. Over at the brownstone, Felicia is standing at the top of the stairs and the staircase collapses and she is trapped under the rubble. Anna at first jokes that the earth moved then realizes it's a real earthquake! She worries for Robin but Robert tells her she has to stay put until its safe as there can be aftershocks, cue the next shaker. Frisco finds an unconscious Felicia and desperately beings pulling debris off of her. A shirtless Robert calls Guy to get the status update of the damage, status of phones, gas and power lines. Guy tells Robert that Mac has escaped. Robert orders an APB and roadblocks. Anna and Robert head to Robin and are relieved to find that she is okay. Robert tells her how much he loves her. Mac steals a policeman's uniform and overhears two cops talking about the roadblocks and the manhunt for Mac. He stops off and picks up his personal property, his knife and his bracelet. Mac goes to Finian and changes his clothes. Mac makes his way to the condemned brownstone and sneaks inside to hide out. Robert heads back to his office, he is in a room with no windows! Robert is ticked and yells at Guy when he tells him that Mac has taken his personal property. Anna points out that Mac wasted a lot of time getting those things which gave Robert time to put up the roadblock and Robert realizes that Mac is still in the city. Sean hears about Felicia's injuries and heads to GH, Frisco tells him that Felicia is paralyzed. Sean heads over to the PCPD and tells Anna and Robert about Felicia's injuries, they all head to GH to see her. Frisco realizes Robert is short handed but Robert tells him if Frisco shows up at the PCPD he will bust him back to a beat cop again that he is to stay with Felicia. Robert heads back to tend to his duties and Anna and Sean stay with Felicia. When Frisco leaves the room, she asks Anna and Sean to take care of Maxie if anything happens to her during the surgery. Robert confronts Finian and accuses him of helping Mac escape. Robert finds a policeman's uniform and realizes that Mac has been there and orders all of the rehab people be collected for questioning. Scotty arrives at the brownstone with Bobbie, she is distraught by all of the damage. She hears a noise in the corner and heads to the spot that Mac is hiding. **The End** |
