Anna & Robin #11 April 17 - June 3, 1986 - Laurelton Conclusion - 8 hours Robin has told Anna about Parent's Day (similar to an Open House) and she is quite excited about it. She wants her mom to make her a bag lunch and says no one eats in the cafeteria except for the kids whose mothers are too busy to make their children's lunches and Anna isn't too busy is she? The next morning, Anna finds some of Robin's art work in the trash. She asks Robin about it, as she hasn't seen any of the drawings. A crying Robin admits they were from the Open House that Anna forgot to attend. Anna is devastated that she disappointed her daughter again and apologizes profusely, blaming the trial. She worries to Buzz whether Robin will be able to get over this. He assures her that children are resilient and with plenty of love she will be fine. Lucy is called back to testify again and Jake recites a love poem that Lucy has written about Kevin. She cracks and he gets her to admit she is in love with Kevin and that she lied about him not being in the library in order to get revenge against him for never noticing her. She blows a huge hole in the prosecutions case and the jury comes back with a not guilty verdict. Anna remains convinced that Kevin is the murderer and he just went free. Red Flynn confronts Jake outside the courtroom and tells him that he just got a murderer freed! Later, as Jake looks at the O'Connors check, he seems to have some doubts and worries that the murderer is still out there. Anna is ready to move on with her life. Buzz invites her out for dinner, cute scenes as Robin helps her mom get dressed up. Buzz and Anna have to first stop by the studio for an interview with Ginny about Kevin returning to work at the hospital. Kevin is there to also do an interview and he confronts Anna. At dinner, Anna has doubts about whether she did a good job building the case and whether it is her fault the case was dismissed? While they are at dinner, Robin enjoys an evening with Frisco, Felicia, Tony, and Tanya. Tanya invites her to be her babies' official god sister. Buzz shows up again the next morning, and talks about their future and Anna says that she isn't ready for a serious relationship right now. He comments that he thinks she is (fortunately just not with him!). Buzz is later attacked on the waterfront and is in critical condition. Anna and Robin spend a lot of time with Buzz's friends, waiting at GH for word on his condition. Robin worries that everyone seems to leave, her father, her grandmother, the Ancient One, and now Buzz is sick and might not make it. Anna reassures her and tells her she will be around for a very long time and Sean will be too. He comes by just in time to hear this and big hugs all around. We see the real Lucy Coe who is dressed quiet differently for a date with Kevin than her performance as the mousy librarian. Jake finds a key hidden in Kevin's toilet while doing some plumbing repairs. He is immediately suspicious and discovers it has a "B" on the key chain, which matches the letter on Lucy's back door. Kevin discovers the key is missing and steals it back from Jake's desk. Jake fills Frisco in on his suspicion that Teri is married to a murderer and asks Frisco to convince him otherwise. Kevin sneaks into Jake's office and steals the key back. Jake goes over to Lucy's apartment to leave something for her; he goes out the backdoor and notices a "B" on the door. When Jake returns and finds the key missing, he is even more convinced that Kevin is in cahoots with Lucy!
Jake fills Frisco in on his suspicion that the key goes to Lucy's backdoor.
Frisco doesn't believe Jake is right about Kevin but agrees to help him in his
research as he thinks Jake is wrong. They go through the trial testimony looking
for clues and they decide to go to the library looking for books with the page
turned down. Lucy had said in her testimony that she remembered the last time
she saw Kevin at the library so clearly as she had to reprimand him for turning
down the page in a medical reference book. They search every book under the
topic Kevin was supposedly reading and fail to find any evidence of any turned
down pages. Jake is sure that Lucy lied about that. He urges Frisco to use his
friendship with Lucy to gather information. Frisco hates the idea, as he felt
terrible for using her to gain information during the trial. Jake's suspicions go from bad to worse when he finds a page of a law book on Double Jeopardy, this is the legal term for being unable to try a person for the same crime twice. So once a person is found innocent, he cannot be tried again for the same crime. Jake tells Frisco that Kevin has committed the perfect crime and he helped him get away with it. Jake is desperate to get through to Laurelton to warn Teri but is unable to as the phone lines are down due to a storm. Buzz wakes up and is reunited with his friends. Jimmy Lee has also spent a lot of time waiting at Buzz's bedside. He soon asks for Robin and she is thrilled to see Buzz awake again. Burt fills Anna in on an interesting complaint he found yesterday. There was a report from Lucy's landlady that she found Frisco in Lucy Coe's apartment when Lucy wasn't home. He also reports that Jake has been noseying around asking Lucy's neighbors questions. Anna determines to confront them and find out what they are up to. They have meanwhile decided to finally tell Anna about their evidence against Kevin.
Anna is furious that they didn't tell her sooner, but that is quickly put aside
as they tell her what they have uncovered. Jake is desperate to get to Teri
before Kevin gets back to Laurelton. They try to contact the Sheriff via his
emergency radio. As they wait to get a priority line through to the sheriff,
Bobbie comes in and wants to know if they are having a hurricane party? Jake
fills her in and tells her that Kevin murdered Jennifer. She is furious at Anna
and blames her. Jake tells her about the evidence he has uncovered. Bobbie
finally convinced tells them that Kevin is in Laurelton that she talked to Teri
yesterday but she didn't want anyone to know he was there. They surmise that
Kevin had instructed her to keep that a secret. Unfortunately, Kevin is in the sheriff's office and
intercepts the message. He tells them that it is a bad connection and he can't
hear them and he then unplugs the radio. Anna recognizes Kevin's voice. She
arranges for a helicopter but tells them only two people will go and she asks
Jake to accompany her. Kevin takes her back to her grandmothers and she begins packing and they quickly leave town. Jake and Anna arrive in Laurelton the next morning, Kevin's father tells them that Teri and Kevin left town the night before on a real second honeymoon. Anna wants to go with him to the O'Connor's but Jake advises her that they will see her as the enemy and he should go alone. Jake goes over to the O'Connor's to try to get information about where they went. They are very friendly with him seeing him as the hero who got their son freed. The sheriff and Ted warn her to go over to the O'Connor's to get Jake and leave town. If she doesn't they will arrest Jake and have him brought up on charges and the local judge doesn't like troublemakers. Anna agrees to avoid Jake being subjected to justice Laurelton style. Frisco has searched Lucy's apartment and found the black stockings (that Flynn saw her wearing the day at the airport). Jake and Anna track the couple to Atlanta and question the staff and search the records. They finally find a flight to the Caribbean scheduled for the next day, paid for by Kevin, but booked under an assumed name. #11B Anna and Jake wait for the authorities to nab Kevin when he arrives for the 1:00 flight. When the airport detective says they never checked in for the flight, they insist on searching the airplane prior to departure but of course they aren't on the plane. Meanwhile, Kevin and Teri have already arrived on Catalina Island (off the coast of the Los Angeles area). Frisco is at GH watching Lucy; he gets word from another undercover cop that Lucy has just been paged to a payphone. Kevin immediately begins drugging Teri by slipping something into her tea. He starts intimidating her into telling him "her secret" and she has to choose between hanging onto her secret and him! She is worried that he will leave her and he is all she has left. He tells her he won't leave her but she has to face the past. He insists that she keeps having bad dreams because she is the murderer and in order to not lose him she has to say she is the killer and admit the secret. When she hesitates, he threatens to leave and end their marriage. Then he tells her how much he loves her and he will accept her being a killer but she can't lie to him any longer, as he can't accept that! He gets up to leave and she begs him to stay, crying she will do anything to keep him. She sobs that she will die if he leaves her. Jake and Anna realize that Kevin set them up and ask for all of the credit card receipts for all flights going out of the Atlanta airport. They finally find another charge under Teri's maiden name for a flight to Los Angeles. Anna compares notes to Frisco who has also gotten the same information out of Lucy. Anna asks Frisco to continue to work on Frisco. He is checking some travel brochures that Kevin had at Lucy's for possible clues and he finds Catalina circled. He heads out for the airport to get to Catalina. When Anna and Jake land in LA, Anna receives a message from Burt with the Catalina information. The Catalina location scenes begin as Kevin has called Patrick in with a plea for help about Teri's unstable condition. The next morning they have a happy reunion and a clear headed Teri heads out with the brothers to go shopping. Frisco has arrived and walks the streets of Catalina looking for any sign of Teri and Kevin. While Teri and Patrick try on hats, Kevin goes over to the Scuba shop to pick up some supplies including a very sharp knife. Frisco stops at an information office, gets information about all of the local hotels and books a reservation for that night. He leaves a message for Jake and Anna about where he will be. Frisco heads back out to the streets and stops for a hotdog at a stand. Just a few minutes later, Teri and the brothers stop at the same stand just missing Frisco. Frisco stops at a series of hotels and can't find any reservation for the O'Connors. He gets information on good Scuba locations, rents a jeep and heads out. He stops at a bluff and looks down the beach with his binoculars and sees Teri and Kevin in their Scuba gear. His car won't start so he takes off running down to the beach. As he gets there, he sees Teri and Kevin off in the water. He grabs a snorkeling mask and heads out to try to find them. Absolutely incredible underwater filming was done, Kevin sees Frisco swimming towards them but he then has to go up to the surface for more air. Kevin lays in wait for Frisco and as he swims by, Kevin comes up behind him and rips off his snorkel mask and slams his head into the rocks, stunning Frisco leaving him floundering underwater. Kevin returns to the Scuba shop and tells the shop owner that some offbeat friends are looking for him and his bride and threatened to crash their honeymoon. He asks if the shop owner would steer anyone looking for him in the opposite direction. Anna and Jake arrive in Catalina and receive Frisco's message that he is staying at the Atwater Hotel. They learn that has already checked in and left. More Catalina location shots as Jake and Anna roam the streets looking for any sign of Teri and Kevin. They stop in the Scuba shop asking about Teri and Kevin. The shopkeeper follows Kevin's request and sends them to the other side of the island. Meanwhile, Frisco makes it to the beach and collapses. He is found and taken to the hospital where he is in critical condition. They report his injury to the local police. Anna and Jake return to the Scuba shop as he sent them to the wrong beach. Anna now identifies herself as a police officer and explains the situation. The shopkeeper is suddenly very helpful and tells them he is sure that Kevin is staying in town as he has been in the shop a couple of times. They start canvassing the area hotels with no luck. When they return to their hotel, the owner tells them that Frisco has not slept in his bed.
They head to the local police station to report Frisco as missing and he tells
them he has been reported injured and is in the local hospital. They find him at
the hospital and his condition has stabilized and he is awake. He reports he was
attacked from behind and while he is sure it was Kevin, he didn't see his face. Frisco tells Anna the name of the beach where he found Kevin and they start canvassing the hotels in that area. They find the O'Connors registered at the Las Casitas Beach Hotel and immediately head over there just after the O'Connors have checked out. The desk clerk tells them that Teri tried to commit suicide in the pool and they have left the hotel. They head to the ferry and try to stop it before it docks but are told that the ferry has already landed and the passengers departed.
The O'Connors arrive by small plane at the Sea view. The jeep that is taking
them to the sanitarium breaks down. While the guys are paying attention to the
jeep, she sneaks off. When Kevin notices, he grabs Patrick and they head off
after her. They find Teri and she apologizes saying she was just scared. Frisco overhears his doctor talking to another local doctor who treated Teri. He learns that she has been taken to the Sanitarium. They are not able to get through though as the phone lines are down. Teri is settling into Sea view and Kevin continues to manipulate her. He tells her that there is something wrong with this place and makes it sound like Patrick is up to something. He says that Patrick will be leaving soon and as soon as he does, Kevin will get her out of there. He asks her to pretend to cooperate with the staff until he can get her out. He later tells her that he overheard Patrick talking to the doctor and he plans on calling the police when he gets back to the mainland and will have her arrested. Teri keeps her wits about her and stops taking the pills that Kevin tries to give her. He asks her to meet him at 12:00 when the staff goes to lunch and they will sneak away together. Kevin hides as Anna and Jake arrive. Anna has lost her police ID and the doctor will not allow her access to Teri until he has confirmed her identity, which he can't do until the phone lines are back up. Jake explains the situation and begs to be able to see Teri. Finally the doctor relents and gives Jake permission. Jake tells her that Kevin is the murderer. She doesn't believe him and confides in Jake that she is the murderer not Kevin. She tries to convince Jake that Kevin loves her despite what she has done and has just been trying to protect her. Jake tells Teri that she didn't kill anyone that Kevin manipulated her. She tells him she wrote a confession. He continues to push her to face that her husband is the murderer. As Teri becomes very upset, the nurse intervenes and asks Jake to leave her alone. Teri calms down and asks to let him stay. Jake tells her that Kevin killed Earl Moody and that Teri saw him do it and Kevin knows that Teri saw him. He warns Teri that the memory of the murder is buried in her subconscious and Kevin can't take the chance of her remembering. He tells her they will take her back to Port Charles with them. Teri doesn't know what to believe. Anna examines the phone lines and tells the doctor that the phone lines have been deliberately cut in order to isolate them on the island. She searches Kevin's room and finds a vial containing a sedative that acts as a hallucinogen. Finally, the doctor is able to reach PCPD and verify Anna's identify and begins helping to search for Kevin. Teri gets dressed and sneaks out of her room. Kevin grabs her and tells her they are going to leave the island and they have to hurry to get to the airport. Kevin takes her off at a run. Finally, exhausted she begs to stop. They take a break at a beautiful lake or river area. Kevin tries his hypnotic effect to get her to go into the water and find peace. He hands her a gun and tells her it was her grandmother's gun that he found in her things. He whispers to her to do it, to find peace. Since she isn't under the influence of the hallucinogen, she finally wises up to Kevin. She turns the gun on him and tells him she is a murderer and she is going to kill him just like she killed her grandmother. He tries to get through to her but she tells him that she can't hear him, as she didn't take the pills he gave her. She orders him towards the water, threatening him with the gun. When he doesn't obey, she shoots towards him. She then makes him start walking towards the water, she shoots towards him again. Jake and Anna hear the gunshots and run towards the sound. They find a piece of Teri's blouse on some barbed wire. They find the shell casings on the ground at the water's edge and don't understand why Kevin hasn't already killed her. Teri tells him she is going to give him a chance and orders him to continue to walk, to keep moving. When he turns towards her, she yells at him to keep going and to keep away from her. As he goes up a hill, she asks him where he wants her to shoot him? In the arm, the leg, in his slimy back? She confronts him about killing her grandmother. He admits to her that he killed Jennifer. Teri makes him repeat over and over that he is a murderer. He asks her to shoot him and get it over with! She orders him to crawl and to keep crawling. Teri continues firing at him every so often as they near the top of the hill. He counts and when he realizes she is out of bullets, he heads towards her. She runs and hides in a barn area. Too soon, she leaves and he captures her. He pulls her into the barn and holds her captive as Anna arrives and begins searching the area. Anna enters the barn and Kevin knocks her out. When she tells him he can't go on like this, that its over that Jake is there and he will find them. He threatens Teri that he will kill Anna and its Teri's fingerprints on the gun. Then he thinks better of it as Jake will hear the shot. He tells Teri that he plans on returning to Laurelton when he becomes a doctor and he will head the Jennifer Talbort Memorial Wing that he donated his inheritance from Jennifer to build. She asks about Lucy Coe? He tells her that Lucy is a real woman; a passionate woman and he will probably marry her. He grabs Teri and slings her over his back and heads out leaving an unconscious Anna behind and he will return for her later. Jake finds Anna and she warns him to go to Teri that Kevin plans on killing her and making it look like suicide. When they reach the top of the cliff, Kevin makes her fire the gun into the air to put her fingerprints on the gun as he plans on returning to kill Anna and making it look like Teri did it. Kevin pulls her into a hug and then pushes her off the cliff. She grabs on to a rock outcropping and pulls herself up. As he reaches down to push her off, Jake rushes up and fights with Kevin. As they fight, Teri climbs up the cliff to the top. She picks up a big rock and slams it upside Kevin's head sending him to his death below. In the very next scene, they all walk back into the brownstone. Anna is reunited with her daughter. Jake takes responsibility for Kevin's death to protect Teri from further questioning. Anna commends Frisco for the work he did on the case and tells him that she is putting a letter of accommodation in his file. Anna and Robin visit Buzz, and Robin has visions of them getting married dancing in her head. She tells Felicia about her hopes for her mother to marry Buzz. Anna takes Jake's and Teri's statement about Kevin's death. Lucy is brought in for further questioning and she admits to planning to marry Kevin. The mayor and the DA decide not to prosecute Lucy as Kevin's accomplice. The mayor tells her that she will be honored with an accommodation this Friday at the Policeman's Ball (that is the night that she meets Duke Lavery for the first time, on the Anna & Duke #12). **The End** |
