Dante & Lulu #9 May 24 - September 16, 2011: 8 Hour Original Edit DVD #9A Dante arrived home to find Lulu huddled on the bed as she tried to dig a piece of glass out of her finger. Dante took over the task of trying to remove the sliver of glass from her thumb, while Lulu told him that she had tried to clean up the mess on the Haunted Star. She was mortified when Dante revealed that he had been at the casino because of a complaint about the noise. Lulu feared that Luke had said something to upset Dante, but Dante assured her that he was fine. Lulu then tearfully told Dante about Luke's reaction to her attempt to clean up the casino. Dante insisted that Luke didn't have a right to yell at Lulu, but he explained that Luke was in a bad place, so Luke was lashing out at everyone around him. Dante urged Lulu not to take it personally. Lulu realized that she had been wrong to persuade Lucky to try a different tactic with Luke, so she intended to call Lucky to apologize. Luke poured himself a drink as Sonny entered the casino. Luke imagined that Dante had talked to Sonny. Sonny explained that Lulu wasn't taking proper care of herself because she was so worried about Luke. Luke insisted that he was fine, but Sonny could see that was a lie. Luke admitted that Lulu had tried to clean up the shattered glass in the casino, which had been reminiscent of Luke's mother's attempts to clean up after Luke's father. Luke explained that Tim Spencer had been a dock worker who drank too much, and viciously abused Luke's mother. Luke had learned at an early age how to cover up the abuse until his mother had died on the floor of their tenement apartment because she had been afraid to go to the hospital with a ruptured appendix. Luke suspected that was the reason that he had always been drawn to damsels in distress. Luke admitted that he had always feared that he would turn into his father. Luke acknowledged that he had crossed the line once, to his eternal shame, with Laura. Luke then quietly admitted that he had almost done it again earlier when Lulu had tried to clean up the broken glass. Luke acknowledged that he had frightened his daughter, which made him realize that he had behaved just like Tim: a drunk and a coward. "Luke, you know what has to be done, right?" Sonny quietly asked. "Yeah, I guess I do. I guess, I do," Luke answered. Luke called Lucky to ask Lucky to gather the Spencers for a family meeting at the Haunted Star. Lucky revealed that Ethan was with him, so he promised that they would be at the casino shortly. 5/25 At the Haunted Star, Luke announces that he is checking himself into rehab first thing the next morngin. Lucky suggested that Luke enter rehab immediately, tonight. He questions why wait till the morning. Luke didn't see the harm in waiting until morning. Tracy offered to take Luke to rehab, but Luke remained resistant because he resented being treated like a child. Lulu didn't know why it couldn't wait until morning, so Lucky explained that Luke might change his mind. Lucky asked to speak privately to Luke, but Lulu objected. Tracy assured Lulu that everything would be fine and then persuaded Lulu to leave with her. Luke realized that Lucky had been right. Luke had become his father, his worst fear. Luke deeply regretted killing Jake; he promised that he would never run from the responsibility of what he had done on that fateful night. Luke had always prided himself on never having regrets, but that was no longer true. Luke would always regret taking Jake's life. Luke realized that he had failed Lucky, but he promised that he had always loved him. Lucky assured Luke that it went both ways. At Kelly's, Tracy assured Lulu that all the arrangements had been made for Luke to receive thirty-day inpatient treatment at Shadybrook. Lulu couldn't understand why everyone had been so cold towards Luke after Luke had agreed to go to rehab. Tracy explained that addicts often made promises to go to rehab, but delayed treatment because in reality it was just a ploy to get the heat off of them. Lulu didn't understand how treating Luke like garbage would help Luke accept treatment. Tracy insisted that Luke needed to take responsibility for his actions, in order to be the man that they loved. "Isn't that worth whatever it takes?" Tracy wondered. Tracy's phone rang. It was Luke. Luke wanted Tracy to drive him to rehab because he was ready to go into treatment immediately. Later at Kelly's, Nikolas confessed that he hadn't thought that Luke could go to rehab. Lulu was certain that Luke had agreed to go for the sake of his children. Nikolas suspected that Lulu didn't believe that Luke was an alcoholic. Lulu assured Nikolas that she recognized that Luke had a problem, but she had been uncomfortable with the idea of tough love. However, Lulu was certain that Luke would make rehab work because he had finally accepted that he was an alcoholic. 5/26 Maxie bumped into Dante at Kelly's, so she was curious if Lulu was okay?Dante seemed confused by the question because he had thought that Lulu was at work. Maxie revealed that Lulu hadn't been at work for days. Dante realized that Lulu had been missing work because of Luke, so he promised to talk to Lulu about it. Maxie confessed that she didn't want to see Lulu lose her job, because Lulu was good at it, but Kate's patience was at an end. Maxie explained that she couldn't keep covering for Lulu, so it was time for Lulu to focus on herself instead of worrying about Luke. At the Haunted Star, Lulu looked around at the covered tables and clean floor. She jumped when she heard a noise. "Dad?" she called out moments before Tracy appeared in the doorway. Tracy was curious if Lulu had expected Luke to have skipped out on rehab. Lulu admitted that she had meant to call Tracy to see how things had gone when Tracy had dropped off Luke at Shadybrook. Tracy revealed that Luke had been quiet, but determined. Lulu was curious if Tracy thought that Luke would stay in rehab. Tracy admitted that she had no idea, but she assured Lulu that Luke appeared to have taken it seriously because he realized that he had hurt his children. Lulu admitted that she had regrets, but Tracy insisted that Lulu hadn't done anything wrong. Lulu confessed that she had tried to remember if there had ever been a time during her childhood when Luke had yelled, stumbled, or done something that might have indicated that he had a drinking problem, but there hadn't been a single incident. Tracy explained that over time the alcohol had turned on Luke. Lulu wanted Luke to stop drinking, but she confessed that she was afraid that he wouldn't be her dad any more. Lulu hadn't realized that Luke had a drinking problem until Jake had died. Tracy suggested that they had all been blind to Luke's drinking. Lulu confided that Lucky had changed after he had gotten sober. According to Lulu, Lucky used to be fun, but after rehab he had turned serious. Lulu was afraid that the same thing would happen to Luke. Tracy explained that Lucky had simply grown up. Lulu argued that Lucky's dream had gotten smaller; he focused on keeping a job, raising kids, and staying sober, so that there wasn't any room for anything else in his life. Tracy conceded that Lulu made it sound grim. Lulu confessed that she couldn't see Luke going through the twelve-step program. Tracy chuckled as she assured Lulu that Luke would find a way to make it cool. However, Tracy insisted that Luke needed to focus on sobriety or else they would lose him. Lulu recalled that her father had always smelled like cigars, soap, and scotch when he had hugged her. She admitted that she would miss it because she had grown to like the smell. Tracy didn't know what would happen after Luke had completed the treatment, but she hoped that Luke focused on putting his life back together instead of trying to destroy it. Lulu wondered if Tracy thought that Luke would be able to do it. Tracy admitted that she didn't know, but she was certain that the burden of killing Jake would be something that Luke would have to learn to live with. Later, Dante found Lulu sitting alone in the casino. He told her about his encounter with Maxie, so he figured that he would find Lulu at the Haunted Star. Dante was curious what Lulu was doing at the casino. Lulu explained that she had intended to clean up Luke's mess, but Tracy had taken care of it. Dante suggested that Lulu go to work, but Lulu confessed that she didn't know where she wanted to be. She revealed that she had spent so many weeks worrying about her father, that it felt as if there were a hole in her life. Lulu added that she was afraid that Luke might emerge from rehab as a completely different man. The conversation then drifted to the night of the accident. Lulu wondered if Dante believed that the alcohol had played a part in the tragedy. Dante was reluctant to answer the question because he didn't want to hurt Lulu, but Lulu insisted that Dante's professional opinion might help her see things more clearly. Dante conceded that Luke might have seen Jake or swerved away if Luke hadn't been drinking. Dante was also certain that Luke would have realized that he had hit something, and then called for help. "Say it," Lulu tearfully urged Dante. "Yes, I think Luke's drinking contributed to the accident," Dante replied quietly. Lulu confessed that Luke had often let her down when she had been a child, and that she had always made excuses. She realized that she had to stop doing that because the same man who had let her down had also killed Jake. Dante was curious why she thought that Luke had agreed to go to rehab despite being so dead-set against it. Lulu revealed that Tracy suspected that Luke had done it for his children. Dante wondered if Lulu thought that Luke would want her to spend all of her time in the casino feeling terrible. Lulu didn't have an answer, so Dante advised her to live her life the best way that she could. Lulu smiled when he jokingly suggested that she could start by writing poems about her wonderful boyfriend. 5/27 At the Haunted Star, as Lulu crowed over her recent break with Kate and Crimson, Dante tried to be supportive. He worried that taking over the casino could be overwhelming for her. He was also concerned that Luke could return from rehab a bitter, resentful man. Dante proposed that he and Lulu go bungee jumping or take a camping trip. Lulu agreed to a vacation, but only after Luke returned home. At the station, Michael demands to know if the DA is dropping the charges against Abby? Michael had turned over an audio confession from the hit woman that she had killed Brandon and set up Abby for his murder. Dante stressed the importance of handling the case by the book. He wanted to make sure no one had paid the woman to take the fall or had mistaken what she'd said. Dante was skeptical of Johnny's motives. Why, Dante wondered, would Johnny involve the police in a mob matter. Johnny stated that he simply wanted Abby to be proven innocent. Dante appeared concerned about the growing friendship Michael was developing with Johnny. Dante went to Carly's home to inform her that Abby was off the hook for Brandon's murder. To Carly's astonishment, Dante mentioned that Lulu was having a tough time since, to Carly's surprise, Luke had gone into rehab. Dante asked Carly to reach out to Lulu. Later, Carly went to the Haunted Star to see her cousin. Lulu realized that Dante had sent Carly to see her. Lulu announced that she'd quit Crimson. Carly asked if Lulu really wanted to run a casino, and Lulu replied that she wanted to be close to Luke to help keep him sober. 5/31 Dante found Lulu working at the Haunted Star. He wanted to spend the day with her, but Lulu explained that she had been trying to decode Luke's accounting system. Dante revealed that he had hoped to pick up some lunch, a bottle of wine, and then take the speedboat out for the day. Lulu smiled as she assured Dante that she appreciated him sending Carly to talk to her, and that he had borrowed Sonny's boat. However, Lulu insisted that she was happy that Luke was in rehab because she was certain that it would be the best thing for her relationship with her father. Lulu then shifted gears to reveal that Luke had been siphoning money from the casino for ages. Dante was surprised that Tracy had put up with it, but Lulu insisted that it just proved how much Tracy loved Luke. Lulu then announced that she intended to enlist Ethan's help to update the casino, and to draw in new clients, so that Luke would have something to focus on after rehab. Dante suggested that Lulu might want to reconsider, since it was unlikely that Luke would want to be surrounded by alcohol. Lulu dismissed Dante's concerns because she intended to work by Luke's side. Lulu admitted that she had always wanted to do something meaningful with her father. She explained that Lucky and Ethan had each had an opportunity to build special memories with Luke, so it was finally her turn. Lulu decided to take the accounting books to Shadybrook, so that Luke had something to work on. Dante didn't know much about rehab, but he was certain that Luke should be focusing on sobriety, not the Haunted Star. Lulu insisted that she knew her father best; Luke would need something to look forward to in order to get him through rehab. Dante decided to bite his tongue as Lulu prattled on about how she was confident that her collaboration with Luke would be the start of a great relationship. A short time later, Lulu arrived at Shadybrook. She was surprised to discover that Luke wasn't in his room, so she asked one of the counselors where her father was. The counselor revealed that Luke had left Shadybrook shortly after checking in. 6/1 At Shadybrook, Lulu demanded to know why her family hadn't been notified when Luke had left rehab. Dr. Nichols, the supervisor of the rehab program, explained that treatment was voluntary, and that they were obligated to respect a patient's privacy. Dr. Nichols revealed that he had tried to persuade Luke to stay, but Luke hadn't been ready to accept that he had a problem. Lulu was frustrated because Dr. Nichols had let Luke leave, but Dr. Nichols reminded her that they couldn't legally force Luke to remain in treatment if Luke had voluntarily checked himself in. Lulu was curious how long Luke had stayed at Shadybrook. "Fifteen minutes," Dr. Nichols replied. Outside of Kelly's, Dante admitted that he had been happy to receive a call from Kristina asking him to meet her. Dante noticed Kristina's outfit, so he wondered if she intended to go "clubbing" afterwards. Kristina explained that she had decided to update her wardrobe, but their father had flipped out. According to Kristina, Sonny would have her dressing like a twelve-year-old for the rest of her life, and wouldn't allow her to date until she was thirty. Kristina revealed that it was the reason that she had called Dante. Dante confessed that he might not have been the best person for her to call because he wasn't thrilled with her new look. Kristina insisted that Maxie had helped her select the outfits. "That explains a lot," Dante remarked. Kristina ignored the comment as she forged ahead with her plea. Kristina realized that she had made some terrible choices by pretending to date Johnny, but she assured Dante that she had genuine feelings for Ethan. Dante was surprised, so Kristina assured him that she and Ethan were just friends, but she wanted more. Kristina had hoped that Dante could talk to Sonny to make Sonny understand that she should be allowed to date whomever she wanted. Later, at the loft, Dante received an update on the hit woman. He was furious when he learned that the hit woman had dropped off of the radar. Dante ended the call just as Lulu walked in. Lulu quickly told Dante about Luke's decision to leave rehab shortly after checking in. Dante wondered why the family hadn't been notified, so Lulu explained what Dr. Nichols had told her. Lulu wasn't surprised that Luke had opted to lie to everyone about going to rehab because Luke hated goodbyes. Lulu called Spinelli to leave him a message to call her back on an urgent matter. Afterwards, Lulu admitted that Luke had likely left the country. Dante explained that he could try to use his police resources to track down Luke, but it might be frowned upon because Luke was an adult, who was free to go where he liked. Lulu realized that she had to call Lucky, but she confessed that she was furious that she had listened to her brother. Lulu reminded Dante that she had never thought that tough love would work with her father, so she was afraid of what Luke would do next. Dante reminded Lulu that Luke knew how to disappear, so he advised her to relax for the evening because she wouldn't be able to find Luke right away. Lulu explained that she needed to find Luke quickly, or else Luke would never return. Dante was curious what Lulu would do if she found Luke but Luke refused to cooperate. At Sonny's office at Pozzulo's, Anthony directed two thugs to carefully place the dead hit woman in Sonny's chair behind the desk. 6/2 Dante arrived after receiving a call from Sonny about the dead body in his office. Brenda decided to take Alec home, so Sonny followed Dante to the office, but Dante stopped his father in the doorway. Dante reminded Sonny that it was a crime scene, so he advised Sonny not to touch anything. Dante realized that the dead woman was the hit woman who had killed Abby's ex-boyfriend, Brandon. Sonny was certain that Anthony was responsible for the corpse in his office, but Dante had his doubts. Sonny insisted that he wouldn't have had someone "whacked" and then left the person in his office for Brenda and Alec to find. Sonny was offended when Dante suggested that it would be a perfect way to throw off suspicion. Dante decided to call the police to report the crime, but discovered that someone had already called in a tip. Sonny immediately accused Anthony of placing the call to the police. Dante was curious what Anthony stood to gain by killing the hit woman. Sonny didn't have an answer, but he was certain that Anthony had something big planned. "Like what?" Dante wondered. At the Haunted Star, Maxie was curious about Lulu's numerous text messages requesting to see Maxie. Maxie hoped that Lulu intended to return to Crimson, but Lulu explained that she was through working for Kate. Lulu explained that she needed Maxie's help because Lulu intended to revamp the casino, so that it would be a profitable business. Maxie advised Lulu to discuss it with Luke before making any changes because Luke had never seemed interested in making a profit. Lulu revealed that Luke had left rehab, so Luke wasn't available to consult with. Lulu admitted that her family had handled Luke wrong, so Lulu intended to give Luke a reason to return to by fixing up the casino, and luring in a younger clientele. Lulu appreciated Maxie's sense of style and knack for knowing what was in, so she hoped that Maxie would agree to redecorate the casino from top to bottom. Lulu was certain that the casino's success would draw Luke back to town. Maxie realized that it was painful when a parent left, but she suggested that it was best to simply accept it. Lulu denied that Luke was anything like Maxie's parents, Frisco and Felicia. "Yet, Luke up and leaves again and again," Maxie pointed out. "Not because he doesn't care," Lulu stubbornly argued. Maxie explained that Luke had killed Jake, and then refused to get help for a drinking problem. Lulu realized that, but she was certain that fixing up the casino would give Luke a sense of purpose. "By running a bar and casino?" Maxie asked. Lulu insisted that Luke loved running the Haunted Star, especially when it was filled with people. According to Lulu, Luke's drinking had only gotten bad after the accident, so tough love hadn't been the answer. Maxie was curious what Lulu would do if Luke decided not to return to Port Charles. Lulu was certain that her father would eventually show up, so she intended to make certain that Luke knew that she loved him and that she accepted him the way that he was. Tracy entered the Haunted Star to find Lulu moving chairs around. Tracy suspected that Lulu already knew that Luke had left rehab. Lulu confirmed Tracy's suspicions and then admitted that she was furious that she had listened to Tracy and Lucky because they had pushed Luke too hard, which had resulted in Luke taking off. Lulu intended to give Luke a reason to return. Lulu outlined her plans for the casino. Tracy suggested that Lulu's plans were just a form of enabling, which Tracy refused to do. Tracy insisted that Luke needed to hit rock bottom on his own before he could get help. Lulu disagreed, so she intended to forge ahead with her plans. Tracy warned Lulu that it wasn't an option because Tracy had decided to sell the casino. Maxie started to cross the yellow police tape at Poluzzo’s but Dante warned her that it was a crime scene. Maxie revealed that she wasn't there to discuss the latest mob hit; she was concerned about Lulu, who had a crazy notion that turning things around at the casino would fix everything. Dante explained that Lulu hoped the renovation would be the start of a new beginning with Luke, but Maxie argued that Lulu had to accept that Luke had deserted her. Maxie warned Dante that they had to help Lulu before Lulu ended up in trouble. 6/3 At Sonny's restaurant, Dante completed the police investigation into the hit woman's death. Jason arrived, and Dante asked him not to retaliate against Anthony. Dante explained his theory that Anthony had hired the woman to implicate Abby in Brandon's death. Anthony had then had her killed and had the body stashed in Sonny's office so that Sonny would break the truce. Dante asked Jason for help to prove that Anthony had been behind the murder by discussing what Jason and Anthony had talked about at the police station. Jason responded that Anthony had admitted to incriminating Abby to cause tension between the Corinthos and Zacchara families. Dante worried that, since Michael had become indebted to the Zacchara family, Jason and Sonny would strike back at Anthony. Dante pleaded with Jason to let the police handle the situation. Lulu defended her father as Tracy made plans to sell the Haunted Star. Tracy admitted she was remorseful for having enabled Luke's alcoholism. Lulu said that it was no wonder Luke had left town, since everyone who loved him did nothing but judge him. Lulu added that their family had made Luke feel guiltier than he'd already felt for killing Jake. Tracy explained that she'd kept the Haunted Star in her name to keep Luke in Port Charles. She didn't want to see Lulu engage in the same codependent behavior. Lulu protested, saying that her plan was to reinvigorate the casino and turn it into a business Luke would be proud of. Tracy retorted that Luke would never return, and Lulu disagreed. Luke would want to return once the business turned around, Lulu proposed. Lulu accused Tracy of trying to push Luke out of their lives and told her to stop spouting twelve-step propaganda. It had worked for Lucky, Lulu argued, but it had only pushed Luke away. Tracy retorted that Luke was an alcoholic, even though he refused to admit it. Lulu worried that her family was going to fall apart. Tracy met Dante at Kelly's, and they discussed Lulu's state of mind. Dante had suggested to Lulu that she go to an Al-Anon meeting to hear stories from other people who had an alcoholic family member, but she'd refused. He explained that Lulu didn't fully believe her father was an alcoholic and that she regretted having taken part in the intervention. Tracy was sorry that she'd enabled Luke for so long. She'd seen, first-hand, what addiction could do to a family, mentioning the struggles that her brother Alan and her nephew AJ had gone through. To Dante's surprise, she let Dante know that she was putting the Haunted Star up for sale. Dante balked, stating that Lulu had quit Crimson to revamp the casino. Tracy assured Dante that Luke was not returning. Tracy only hoped that Lulu would some day forgive her. Lulu had Nikolas stop by to review her business plan for the casino. She assured him that he'd see a return on his investment. Nik asked how Luke would fit into the plan, and Lulu said he'd run it with her upon his return. Nikolas worried that Lulu's lack of experience running a business, particularly in the gaming industry, might hinder her ability to make the Haunted Star a success. Lulu told him that Ethan had grown up in a casino and would be an asset, but Nikolas didn't feel that inspired any confidence. Lulu assumed Nik wasn't interested in her proposition, but he argued otherwise. "If I'm going to make an investment, I'd rather make it in you than in Luke," he said. Lulu convinced him that she wanted to prove that she could handle more than answering Kate Howard's phone calls. Nikolas agreed to give Lulu the money. He warned her, however, that she might end up very disappointed if she expected a successful business to put her family back together. Dante returned to the casino and was greeted by an ecstatic Lulu, who told him Nik had given her the money to buy the Haunted Star from Tracy. Dante found it difficult to get excited over Lulu's decision. 6/6 On the Haunted Star, Dante told Lulu that he thought it was a bad idea to but the boat. Dante worried that Lulu was making an impulsive decision. He said that with all the recent upsets in her life that it might not be the best time to make a life-altering decision. Dante said that if she bought Haunted Star he wanted her to do it for the right reasons. Lulu said the best reason was that redoing it and making it successful again was the best way to get her dad back. Lucky entered at that point and told Lulu not to count on it. Lulu was surprised to see Lucky because she thought that he had gone away to look for Luke. Lucky said that he had been working and would not look for Luke who obviously did not want to be found. Lulu blamed Lucky for Luke's disappearance. She said that Lucky had not been compassionate and that was the reason that Luke had left. Lulu said that Nikolas had given her the money and she was buying the Haunted Star so Luke would have a place to come back to. Lucky said that it was a bad idea because Lulu was completely ignoring the fact Luke was a raging alcoholic and a thriving Haunted Star was the last place he needed to be. Dante defended Lulu and said that she could deal with her grief any way she wanted to. Lucky told Dante that he was feeding Lulu's denial. Lulu thanked Dante for standing up for her and then told him that she could take care of it. After Dante left Lulu alone with Lucky, Lulu begged Lucky to put his feelings aside and do what was best for their family, which was to bring Luke home. When Lucky refused, Lulu said that Luke had left because of Lucky. She said that Luke loved Lucky more than he loved his other children. Lulu said that Luke left because he had ruined his golden boy's golden life. Lucky said that Luke left because he could not face his addiction. Lulu said it was not about rehab. It was about Luke doing what was best for Lucky. Lucky said that was not true. Lulu said that if Luke loved her half as much as he loved Lucky she would go get him and bring him home. Lulu said that Lucky had to go find Luke and bring him home while she redecorated and reinvigorated the Haunted Star. Lulu told Lucky that she was really sorry about Jake death, but did not excuse Lucky and mean that Lucky could dump his alcoholism on Luke and drive Luke away from the rest of them. Lucky said that he did not intend to drive Luke away. He said that he wanted to save Luke from the out of control drinking that was slowly killing him. Lulu said that Luke's drinking was not out of control until after Jake's death when Lucky accused Luke of being an alcoholic. Lulu said that Luke was trying to punish himself by making Lucky's accusation a self-fulfilling prophecy. Lucky said that it was not about him and that the whole family had been on board for the intervention. Lucky said that Luke had a disease. Lulu threw up her hands in disgust. She screamed at Lucky that he was the one with the disease, not Luke. She told Lucky that his obsession had taken Luke away from all of them. She said that Lucky had driven Luke away. She told Lucky that she did not want to hear what he had to say. As Lucky stood and watched, Lulu walked over to the bar and poured and downed a double shot of scotch. When Lucky walked away without speaking, Lulu poured and downed another double shot. Dante went to Jason to tell him that Luke had bailed on rehab. Dante asked Jason to go to Lucky and urge him to reconcile with Luke. Jason asked if Dante wanted him to tell Lucky that the accident with Jake was not Luke's fault. Dante told Jason that he needed to put aside his grief and do what was best for Lucky's family. Jason said that it was Luke's fault and he would not say that alcohol did not play a part in Jake's death. Dante said that Jason was saying that Luke's arrogance had killed Jake, but Jason failed to realize that he was too arrogant to leave the business and set a better example for Michael. Dante asked Jason how that made him any better than Luke. Dante went back to the Haunted Star and found a drunk Lulu bemoaning the fact that she had accused Lucky of being in an AA cult and driving him away. When Lulu feared that she had lost her brother, Dante comforted her and said to give Lucky a couple of days to get over it. He told her that she would feel better on the morrow. Lulu reached for the bottle and poured two drinks. She asked Dante to join her for a drink and toast the Spencers. She said they were fun while they lasted and how she wished that they would rest in peace. Dante said he would have a drink with her but would not toast the demise of her family. Instead he would toast their relationship and the fact that he would stand by her through anything. They clinked glasses and drank. Lulu was a little wobbly as Lulu took Dante's hand and he led her to the dance floor. Dante held Lulu close and tenderly began a slow dance with her. 6/7 On the Haunted Star, Dante and Lulu ripped off each other's clothes and then made love. Afterwards, Dante admitted that it had been "transcendental." Lulu agreed. Dante was relieved that no one had walked in on them. Lulu chuckled as she reminded him that she would soon own the casino. She then confessed that their lovemaking had made her forget all of her problems for the first time. Dante offered to be available any time that she needed his help to escape from her troubles. Lulu apologized for being "all over the place" in recent weeks. Dante smiled as he assured her that he didn't mind as long as she continued to apologize in the same way. Lulu and Dante showed up at Lucky’s apartment. Lulu explained that she wanted to apologize for blaming Lucky for Luke leaving town. Lulu also regretted drinking in front of Lucky because she realized that it had been low of her. Lulu conceded that she had no right to judge Lucky because Lucky loved Luke. Lucky admitted that Lulu had been right; he had driven Luke away, so Lucky was determined to make things right by finding their father. Lulu was thrilled especially when Lucky revealed that he had a good idea where Luke might be. Lulu sobered as she insisted that she didn't want Lucky to seek their father out simply because she had goaded him into it. Lucky assured her that she hadn't, but he admitted that she had been wrong about one thing: Luke didn't love Lucky more than he loved Lulu. Lucky was determined to put Lulu's heart and needs ahead of his own, which meant that he had to get Luke to return home. Lucky promised that he would not shut their father out if Luke didn't stop drinking. Lulu was relieved, but Lucky warned her that Luke might not be receptive. Lulu was confident that Lucky would say exactly what Luke needed to hear. In the background, Dante watched Lulu with concern etched on his face. Lulu was in an upbeat mood when she and Dante returned to the casino. Dante was reluctant to be the "doom and gloom guy," but he reminded Lulu that finding Luke wasn't the same as getting Luke to return home. Lulu was certain that when Lucky gave up on the "whole alcoholism thing," and assured Luke that they would accept Luke, then Luke would agree to return to Port Charles. Dante decided to change the subject by reminding her that they were supposed to have gone back to his place. Lulu explained that she just needed to order some liquor for the casino. Dante thought that Lulu was being a bit optimistic, but Lulu was determined to get the casino up and running within the week, so that Luke would have something to look forward to. Lulu was confident that Luke would be happy that she had saved the casino for him. Dante watched Lulu with a sense of uneasiness as she blissfully typed away on the laptop. 6/10 Lulu showed up at Crimson as Maxie handled a disaster created by her new assistant, Inga. She thought that Lulu had returned to work, but Lulu said she was there to pick up her final paycheck. Maxie was very blunt when she told Lulu that Luke would not be returning and that it would be better if he did not. Lulu was livid, but Maxie pointed out that not only would Port Charles be a torturous reminder of Jake's death, but also that Jason would probably kill Luke. Lulu was sure that Jason would not hurt Luke. Lulu said that several people had driven down that road and any one of them could have hit Jake. Lulu agonized as she told Maxie that Jake's death and Luke's self-destruction were destroying her family. Maxie asked Lulu why, under those circumstances, she wanted Luke to return home. Dante went to see Jason about a warehouse fire. Jason told him to see Diane. Dante begged Jason to quit his illegal activities and let the police handle the problem. Jason said, "Before or after Anthony burns the city down." Dante tried to get Jason to back away, but Jason would not agree. Dante asked Jason to think about Michael and not put him in the middle of his fight with the Zaccharas. Jason said that Michael understood what was at stake. As he left Jason alone, Dante was disgusted and said that he hoped Michael did not get hurt. Dante responded to a call from Maxie. When he arrived at Crimson, she berated him for not getting Lulu to be reasonable about the Haunted Star and Luke's return. Dante said that Lulu was her own person, and he would be there to support her. Dante said it was not his place to tell either Luke or Lulu how to live their lives. Maxie said it was a crock. She said that Lulu was circling the drain and it was time to get creative. Maxie pulled out first-class tickets for a fancy, pampered, two-week stay in France. She said that she had planned to go with Matt, but believed that Lulu needed it more than she did. Dante was ecstatic. Maxie said that there was one catch: Dante had to convince Lulu to work at Crimson again. Lulu went to Jason and told him that Lucky had gone to locate Luke and urge him to return. She asked Jason to stay away from Luke and said that hurting Luke would not resurrect Jake or change what had happened. Jason said that he would not forgive Luke. Lulu said that she was not asking Jason to forgive Luke, just not to kill Luke. Jason said that he did not intend to kill Luke. Jason said that he wanted Luke to suffer. Jason said that he wanted Luke to wake up and grieve every day, just like Jason did. Dante tried to talk Lulu into taking the trip to France with him, but she insisted that she had to stay in Port Charles so that she could spend time with Luke when he returned home with Lucky. 6/14 Lulu was out jogging when she spotted Lucky standing on the porch of their mother's house. She stopped to find out where Luke was. Lucky was curious what Lulu knew about their grandfather, Tim Spencer. Lulu knew very little, so Lucky told her about Tim's drinking and the abusive environment that Luke and Bobbie had been raised in. Lulu insisted that Luke was nothing like Tim, but Lucky disagreed. Lucky confessed that he had seen a side of Luke that he had never seen before. Lulu demanded to know where Luke was, so Lucky revealed that Luke was living in a "whorehouse" in Jacksonville, Florida, where Luke and Bobbie had lived with their Aunt Ruby. Lucky explained that it was the only home that Luke had ever known, but Lulu disagreed. Lucky told Lulu that the Spencer house had never been Luke's home. Lulu was rattled when Lucky confided that being in the whorehouse had been difficult for him because Lucky had imagined what it would have been like if he and Lulu had been in Luke and Bobbie's place. Lucky realized that the "whole mess" had driven Luke straight to the brothel. Later, Lulu was standing on the pier when Dante approached her. He immediately sensed that something was wrong, so Lulu revealed that Luke would not be returning. "I'm sorry," Dante replied, but Lulu realized that he hadn't been surprised. Dante confessed that he couldn't blame Luke for not wanting to return to Port Charles after what had happened. "This is different," Lulu explained. She was certain that Luke was resigned not to be their father anymore. Lulu regretted being a part of the intervention because they had poured salt on Luke's wounds when Luke had already been feeling horrible for killing Jake. Lulu believed that they should have gone with her first instinct to accept Luke for who he was. She was certain that Luke would never have shut them out if they had. Dante suggested that Lulu get her mind off of her family troubles by attending Michael's graduation ceremony with him. Lulu decided that it would be best to go the Haunted Star to meet Ethan because she didn't want to spoil anyone's fun. Dante assured Lulu that Luke loved her, but Lulu didn't think that her father loved her enough to return. Lulu entered the casino to find Lucky and Ethan together. She immediately realized that Ethan knew about their father. Ethan was certain that Luke would bounce back, but Lucky revealed that Luke had never wanted the responsibility of children, so Luke wasn't interested in continuing his relationship with Lucky, Lulu, and Ethan. Lulu and Ethan were shocked when Lucky admitted that Luke had told him that killing Jake had been liberating because it had freed Luke from being a father. Lucky suggested that the sooner that Lulu and Ethan accepted that, the better. Later, Lulu and Ethan found Lucky standing on the porch of the Spencer house. Ethan was curious what Lucky was doing there, so Lucky explained that he was seeing the house through Luke's eyes. According to Lucky, it was suffocating, but Lulu argued that the house wasn't that bad. Lucky reminded her that their parents' marriage had fallen apart, as had Lucky's marriage to Elizabeth, while they had lived in the house. Lucky confided that Luke had always wanted to see the place "torched." 6/15 Dante arrived at Kristina and Michael’s high school graduation ceremony. Mayor Floyd began his speech about the graduating class. Kristina and Michael were stunned when they heard a speaker thank Melinda Bauer for the generous endowment of an athletic scholarship, to be awarded to a student, in memory of her late son, Kiefer Bauer. Bryce, one of Kristina and Michael's classmates, decided to give Kristina a hard time by suggesting that it had been nice of Mrs. Bauer to give someone a scholarship; however Bryce was certain that Mrs. Bauer would have preferred to spend the money on Kiefer, if Kristina hadn't gotten Kiefer killed. Michael warned Bryce to back off, but Bryce forged ahead by accusing "some loser" of beating up Kristina. Kristina denied that Ethan had hurt her, so Bryce was curious why she had accused Ethan of the attack. Kristina admitted that she had tried to protect Kiefer, but Bryce didn't believe her because Kiefer had ended up dead. Bryce insisted that all of Kiefer's friends had warned Kiefer that he could have done better than dating someone like Kristina. Michael argued that Kiefer had been an abusive pig, but Bryce insisted that Kristina had deserved it if Kiefer had hit her. Michael was livid, so he took a swing at Bryce. The speech ended abruptly when Bryce went sailing past the podium. Seconds later, Michael appeared to take another swing at Bryce, but froze when he realized that everyone was watching him in shocked silence. Later, Dante stopped by Abby's apartment in the hopes that Michael had gone there after the debacle at the graduation ceremony. Abby explained that she hadn't heard from Michael, but she was worried about him. She insisted that Michael wouldn't have punched someone unless Michael had been provoked. Abby admitted that it scared her how Michael was drawn to the mob. Dante confessed that it worried him too. Abby imagined that it was difficult for Dante to know that Michael wanted to join Sonny's organization. Dante admitted that it was challenging, but he was determined to keep Michael on the right side of the law. Abby thought that it was a "lost cause," but she wished Dante luck. Dante confided that he gave Michael credit for becoming involved with Abby. Abby immediately tensed because she thought that Dante was alluding to her days as a stripper. Dante quickly clarified that he meant that Michael's family, himself included, had been terrible role models for relationships because they all fought like "cats and dogs." Abby quickly relaxed. Moments later, Michael knocked on the door. Abby was overjoyed as she greeted Michael was a fierce hug and then admitted that she had been worried about him. Michael spotted Dante in the living room, so he suspected that Dante was there because Bryce wanted to press charges. Dante explained that he had stopped by to give Michael his graduation present. Michael took the envelope that Dante had extended and then read the letter inside. Michael was stunned to learn that he had completed his parole. Dante insisted that Michael had done it by turning his life around. After Dante left, Abby and Michael discussed where Michael would live. Michael was delighted when Abby invited him to move in with her. He promised to pay half the rent with the money he earned working at the coffee warehouse. Dante stopped by Carly's house to tell her that Michael was driving him crazy. Dante was frustrated because Michael was camped out on his sofa, which had put a crimp in Dante and Lulu's love life. Dante wanted Carly to take responsibility for her son. Carly was livid. "Are you kidding me?" she asked angrily. "Actually, I am kidding you," Dante replied. Carly was shocked when Dante revealed that Michael's parole was over. Carly realized that Dante had talked to Judge Carroll because Michael's parole had been scheduled to end in August. Dante insisted that Michael's accomplishments had persuaded the judge to give Michael time off for good behavior. Carly's eyes filled with tears as she thanked Dante for talking to the judge on Michael's behalf. Dante assured her that Michael had earned it. 6/16 At the Spencer house, Lulu explained that she had been patrolling her mother's house because Lucky seemed to have a "weird fixation" on it. Dante was curious what that meant, so she revealed that Lucky had started talking about the house in the same way that Luke had. According to Lulu, Luke had always wanted to see the place burned to the ground. Dante wondered if Lulu suspected that Lucky might do something. Lulu realized that she didn't have any room to judge anyone because of her own erratic behavior. Dante was curious if she were referring to her refusal to take advantage of Maxie's generous offer to send them to Paris. Lulu nodded and then acknowledged that her decision to quit her job and to ask Nikolas for money to buy the Haunted Star were other examples. Lulu realized that Lucky was in pain, but she insisted that they had all had a hand in Luke's decision to leave town. Dante thought that guilt was a way to take control of a situation. Lulu argued that Luke, not Lucky, hated the Spencer house, so she couldn't understand why Lucky was trying to rewrite history. Dante suspected that it was easier for Lucky to blame the house than to blame Luke for giving up. Maxie met Dante on the pier to tell him that she was concerned that Lucky was about to "implode" because Lucky had been "talking strange." Dante suggested that Lucky might have been venting, but Maxie was certain that it was more than that. Dante wondered if Maxie had spoken to Siobhan about it. According to Maxie, Siobhan only looked out for herself because Lucky tended to gravitate towards women who were extremely selfish, Maxie included. Maxie insisted that Siobhan realized that Lucky was headed down a bad road, so Dante suggested that they try to guide Lucky down the right one. Maxie was curious when Dante had turned into the "world's most positive policeman." Dante admitted that he had faith in Lucky, but Maxie argued that Lucky's faith had been shattered because Luke had pulled the rug out from under Lucky. Maxie suspected that Dante knew what that was like because of his experience with Sonny and Olivia. Dante admitted that she had a point. Maxie confessed that she knew what it was like to be abandoned by her parents, so she feared that Lucky might relapse. Dante realized that she might be right. At the Spencer house, Lucky slowly made his way to the porch as he opened and closed his father's lighter. Eventually, Lucky poured gasoline all around the house, and on the porch, before setting the house ablaze. Moments later, Dante arrived on the scene and then demanded to know what had happened. Lucky casually explained that he had set fire to the house as a farewell present to Luke. Dante tried to hustle Lucky away from the house before anyone saw them, but Lucky wanted to watch the house burn to the ground. Dante was forced to drag Lucky to the car and then pushed Lucky into the front passenger seat. Lucky argued that setting fire to the house hadn't been a big deal because it was abandoned. Dante reminded Lucky that it was considered arson and that Lucky could lose his badge. Dante then called the authorities to report the fire, unaware that Siobhan had approached the house in stunned disbelief. Siobhan feared the worst when she called out Lucky's name, but didn't hear a response. Certain that Lucky was inside the house, Siobhan raced into the house to find her husband. At the car, Lucky was shocked when he heard a woman scream. "Did you hear that?" Lucky asked Dante. 6/17 Dante phoned in the fire. Lucky did not seem like himself. He wanted to watch the fire and told Dante that Luke would be proud. Dante asked if Lucky cared about losing his badge. Both men rushed back to the blaze when they heard Siobhan scream. Lucky carried an unconscious Siobhan out of the house. Dante drove to GH, where Siobhan was stabilized for surgery and Matt prepared to operate. Dante got a call from Mac, who berated Dante for leaving the scene of the fire. He ordered Dante back to the Spencer house and insinuated that Dante was covering up for someone. At the scene of the fire, Mac accused Dante of covering up for Luke. Dante was relieved that Mac did not suspect Lucky. When Mac asked if Dante had seen Luke, Dante was sincere when he said he had not. Mac was on a tirade about what a menace Luke Spencer was when Lucky called to report that Lisa had taken hostages. Mac and Dante rushed to GH. Jason was the first to arrive at GH. He pounded on the door, but the guard ignored him. Ronnie rushed up, drew his gun and accused Jason of causing the lockdown. Mac and Dante arrived on Ronnie's heels and said Lisa had taken hostages. Jason said that he had heard shots while on the phone with Sam. Lisa pointed a gun at Spinelli and called him a moron. Gently, Spinelli begged her to put the gun down. He told her that the authorities would take her illness into consideration. Spinelli told her that he understood romantic disappointment. Spinelli said that revenge did not alleviate the pain. Lisa called Spinelli a pathetic loser. Maxie told Lisa that she could not talk to Spinelli like that. Maxie said that Lisa was the one who was pathetic. Maxie said that Lisa was a once-gifted surgeon who had become a certified whack job. Maxie said that Lisa was just a jilted one-night stand with a gun in her hand. Lisa said that she'd had enough of Maxie. As she aimed and fired at Maxie, Spinelli jumped in front of Maxie and took the bullet. 6/20 As Patrick, Robin, and Steve tried to save Spinelli, Lisa told Maxie that it was her fault. Lisa told the doctors to get away from Spinelli. Lisa said that the next time anyone disobeyed her orders, she would shoot Spinelli in the head. At the nurses' station, Lucky was on the phone with Mac, Ronnie, Jason, and Dante, who were gathered outside the front doors of the hospital. Lucky told them that Spinelli had entered the conference room and had been shot. Lucky said he had booted up the program that would override the lockdown, but he did not know the code. Dante spotted a helicopter and said that he and Jason would use it to get to the roof and inside the building from there. Ronnie objected because Jason was a mobster. Dante told Ronnie that saving people's live was more important than Ronnie's grudge. Lisa continued her cross-examination of Patrick. She asked if Robin was boring. When Patrick said, "No," Lisa said that the smart decision was to pacify the woman with the gun. Lisa finished with Patrick and then turned her attention to Steve. Lisa asked Steve if he thought that she was competent. Steve told Lisa that he thought that she was a brilliant surgeon. He said that he had made every effort to give Lisa the benefit of the doubt. Lisa said that his reason for keeping her at GH was that Steve had slept with Lisa and feared a sexual harassment lawsuit. Steve told Lisa that she was a gifted doctor. Steve said it was a shame that Lisa's career was over because of an obsession. Lisa told Steve that he did not get to judge her. Jason and Dante made it to the roof. Dante told Jason that he frequently told Jason to set a good example for Michael, but Michael was not there. Dante said that if Jason got a good shot at Lisa, Jason should take it. Dante shot the lock off the roof door, and they were able to gain access to GH. Down below, Ronnie complained to Mac about Jason partnering with Dante. Ronnie said that he thought that Mac had given orders that they were not to cooperate with the mob. Mac said that he made the rules, so he could ignore the rules. Mac said he would personally pin a medal on Jason if Jason succeeded in keeping whacko Lisa from hurting his family. Jason and Dante made their way to Lucky, who was still pondering the codes that Steve might have used on the lockout system. Jason suggested Jake's birthday. When Lucky tried it, the lockdown ended. Ronnie was all for sending in the S.W.A.T. team, but Mac said that they had to think of the hostages. Jason also wanted to charge in, but Dante insisted that they try negotiating first. Mac told Ronnie to evacuate the patients. Mac wondered how Lisa had gotten a gun and where she had been staying since her escape from custody. Elizabeth found Lucky with Dante and Jason. She told Lucky that Siobhan was out of surgery, but still unconscious. Dante told Lucky to go see Siobhan. Spinelli started choking on his own blood. Robin said that she would say anything Lisa wanted her to say if Lisa would let Spinelli get help. Lisa said that the trial would continue whether or not the witnesses were breathing. The phone rang. Lisa told Maxie to pick it up. Maxie did as she was told. As soon as she heard Dante's voice, she told him the situation with Spinelli. Dante asked what Lisa wanted. Lisa said that she would not make a deal. Lisa said that she had what she wanted because she was having her day in court. Lisa made Maxie hang up the phone. Lisa said that if there were any more interruptions, someone would die. Outside, Jason told Dante that they had tried it Dante's way, and now they would do it Jason's way. Lisa said that the court had reached a verdict. Lisa said that she found all of them guilty of scapegoating her and the penalty was death! At that moment, Jason and Dante burst through the door. Lisa shot Patrick in the arm and grabbed Robin as a shield. When Lisa said she would shoot Robin, Jason said Lisa would be dead before she could fire. Lisa pushed Robin aside and fled to the hall. Dante followed, tackled Lisa, and knocked her out. Steve said that Spinelli had to get to OR immediately. Jason and Dante hovered over Spinelli as Matt and Steve wheeled Spinelli's gurney to the OR. 6/21 Spinelli was rushed into surgery. Maxie was in tears when Dante found her on the rooftop. She blamed herself for Spinelli getting shot, but Dante argued that Lisa had been unstable. Dante was curious what had transpired in the conference room, so Maxie told him about Lisa's "trial." Maxie admitted that she had provoked Lisa by yelling at her, so Lisa had decided to shoot Maxie. However, Spinelli had jumped into the path of the bullet at the last second, in an effort to save Maxie. Maxie told Dante about the moments following the shooting, when Lisa had refused to allow anyone to help Spinelli. Dante confessed that he had been furious with Spinelli trying to rescue the hostages because the police could have used Spinelli's expertise to access the computer code, which would have lifted the lockdown. Dante realized that Maxie would have died if Spinelli hadn't been there. Maxie confided that the entire time that she and Spinelli had been a couple, she had worried that Spinelli would get hurt, or worse, because he had been determined to prove to her that he was a man of action. She confessed that after the breakup, she had been comforted by the knowledge that Spinelli would be safe because he no longer had a reason to prove himself to her. However, she In the conference room, Lisa held a syringe, filled with drain cleaner, to Robin's neck. Lisa ordered Patrick to convince her not to kill his wife. Patrick doubted that Lisa wanted to kill Robin because he believed that Lisa would have done it already. Patrick suspected that Lisa simply wanted Patrick's attention, good or bad. He insisted that Lisa mattered to him, so he promised to help her if Lisa put down the syringe. All the while, Patrick moved closer to Lisa until he was within reach of her. Lisa was startled when Patrick suddenly lunged for the syringe to yank it out of her grasp. Robin managed to break free during the struggle, but Lisa refused to relinquish the syringe. Eventually, Patrick managed to gain the upper hand, but not before Lisa injected herself with the deadly chemical. Within seconds, Lisa collapsed as the drain cleaner entered her bloodstream. Mac asked Dante to go to the police station to write up a detailed report about Lisa's capture. However, Mac cautioned Dante to minimize Jason's role in everything because Mac didn't want to have to listen to Mayor Floyd complain. 6/22 At the Spencer house, Ronnie suspected that Dante knew more about the fire than Dante claimed. Moments later, Lulu walked up. "Oh, my God," Lulu said as she looked at the burned-out shell of the home that she had grown up in. Dante promised that he had done all that he could to save the house, but it hadn't been enough. Lulu admitted that perhaps it had been for the best that the house had been destroyed. Ronnie wondered why Lulu felt that way and then asked if there had been a big insurance policy on the house. Dante ordered Ronnie to knock it off. Ronnie decided to talk to the fire chief, but he instructed Lulu not to leave. After Ronnie walked away, Lulu admitted that she was certain that Lucky had torched the house. Dante suggested that Lulu discuss it with Lucky. Lulu confessed that she had wonderful memories of living in the house with her grandmother, Lesley. According to Lulu, Lucky did, too, but he had been determined to destroy all of that. Lulu was curious where Lucky was, so Dante told her about Siobhan. Lulu was stunned, so she quickly left. Moments later, Ronnie returned. Ronnie revealed that the fire had been a result of arson and that Lucky was the prime suspect. Ronnie didn't expect Dante to give Lucky up, but he warned Dante not to risk his badge to protect Lucky. At the Haunted Star, Tracy was working on some paperwork when Lulu entered. Lulu spotted the bottle of scotch on the bar. Tracy doubted that it belonged to Luke, even though it was Luke's favorite brand. Lulu suspected that Lucky had pulled the bottle off of the shelf because Siobhan had been injured in the fire on Charles Street. Tracy admitted that she had hoped that Luke had returned when she had heard about the fire. Lulu confessed that she feared that Lucky had relapsed because she had sent Lucky to find Luke, which had set Lucky up for Luke to unload on him. Tracy thought that it was tragic if Lucky had started to drink, but she insisted that it wasn't Lulu's responsibility to save Lucky. Tracy reminded Lulu that Lulu had turned herself inside out trying to help everyone. Lulu claimed that she was fine, but Tracy didn't believe her. According to Tracy, Luke and Lucky were wrapped up in their own dysfunction. Lulu didn't want to hear any criticism about her father and brother because she loved them. Tracy immediately backed down, but insisted that she loved Lulu, so she would be available if Lulu needed to talk. Later, Dante entered the casino and found a note on the bar. Tracy walked in moments later, looking for Lulu. Dante revealed that they had missed her; Lulu had gone looking for Luke. Dante decided to find Lulu, but Tracy warned him that Lulu would have told him where she was headed if she had wanted Dante to know. Dante didn't care, so Tracy warned him that Lulu was on a wild goose chase that would end in disaster. On a plane, Lulu looked at a map of Jacksonville, Florida, and then called Lucky. Lulu reached his voicemail, so she explained that she was going to be out of town for a few days. She realized that the timing was bad, but she promised that things would be better when she returned. 6/24 Lulu found the bordello where Luke had been staying. She approached Lupe and tried to get information about Luke. Lulu pretended that she had a job for Luke. Lupe was unconvinced, especially when Lulu seemed shocked to see a young girl lead a customer up the stairs. When Lupe asked why Lulu was staring, Lulu fretted that the girl looked like a high school kid. Lupe said that they had not asked for ID when the girl had been hired. Lupe told Lulu to leave, but Lulu persisted and wanted to see the owner. Lupe said Javier was a dangerous man, and Lulu should stop asking questions. When Lupe sensed that Lulu had a personal reason to find Luke, she demanded to know what it was. Lulu lied and said the real reason she was there was because her boyfriend had been on a job with Luke and had not returned from it. Lupe told Lulu that her man was gone and to go away. Lulu would not leave and wanted to know where Luke was hiding. Javier intervened because Lulu was making a scene. Javier wanted to know what business Lulu had with Luke. Dante met Tracy at Kelly's to tell her that Lulu had gone searching for Luke and to find out if Tracy knew where Lulu had gone. Tracy said that she had tried to help Lulu, but Lulu had refused to see Luke realistically. Tracy told Dante that it would be better for Lulu to confront Luke and let Luke tell her that he no longer wanted to have a relationship with his family. Dante wanted to support Lulu but Tracy told him to stay out of it and let Lulu find out the truth on her own. Dante went to Sonny's to ask about Luke. Sonny thought that Dante was there about Michael and rushed to explain that Michael's job was strictly legitimate. Dante said that it was good that Michael was working for Sonny because Johnny was circling around. Dante asked if Sonny knew where Luke had gone because Lulu had gone after him. Sonny said that Luke had probably gone back to Florida to the whorehouse where he had grown up. Sonny said that he doubted that Luke would return and that it was best if Luke stayed gone. Dante said that Luke had a drinking problem and was causing his family a lot of pain. Sonny said that Dante could not understand Luke's pain unless he walked a mile in Luke's shoes. Dante could not understand why Luke would leave his family to hide out in a whorehouse. Sonny said that Dante would find it difficult to understand because he had grown up in a large, loving supportive family, which was the opposite of what Sonny and Luke had known. Luke and Sonny had grown up with abusive fathers who had slapped them around and had made them feel like dirt. Even though they had climbed out of the gutter, both felt that they had gotten lucky, and no matter how successful they were, they knew deep down that the gutter was waiting for them to fall. Sonny said that Luke was not in his right mind, so Luke had gone back to a place where he fit in, and the bordello in Florida was where Luke felt he fit. Sonny added that it was not a place where Lulu should be poking around. 6/27 Sonny and Dante continued their conversation about Luke. Sonny said that being in a bordello was less dangerous for Lulu than finding Luke. Sonny explained that when someone like him or Luke was overwhelmed with pain, they thought they were doing their kids a favor by leaving them. Sonny said that because they had been abused as children, they felt powerless. Sonny said that they had two choices. They could become victims or they could get up off the floor and become a person that others respected. When Dante wanted to know why power was so important, Sonny said that he could never again be that powerless little boy who had been locked in a closet. Dante said that it did not explain Luke. Sonny said it did. Sonny said that Luke had possessed everything until he hit a four-year old boy who was his son's kid. Sonny said that for Luke, that was "game over." He said that Luke had to go to someplace that defined him, and that was why he had gone to the whorehouse. At the Florida bordello, Lulu told Javier that she was not there to cause trouble. Javier told Lulu to leave before someone took a liking to her. Lulu said that she would leave after finding Luke. When Javier tried to find out more, Lulu said that she was looking for her boyfriend, Dominic, who had worked with Luke and was missing. Javier accused her of being a liar. He asked Lulu why she was nervous. Lulu told Javier that he was creeping her out. Lupe joined them and supported Lulu's story about Dominic working for Luke. Javier told Lulu that he might answer her questions if she proved useful. Javier told Lulu to meet him upstairs in half an hour or to leave and never return. After Javier left, Lulu asked Lupe why she had covered. Lupe said that Luke was good to her. She told Lulu that Luke was a decent guy whose mind was clouded by booze. Lupe said that Luke had been through something awful. Lupe encouraged Lulu to leave. Lulu said she would as soon as she had a face-to-face with Luke. Lupe said that Lulu had learned all she could. Lupe said that what Javier wanted from Lulu upstairs was nothing that Lulu wanted to experience. Dante went to the Florida bordello and met Lupe. He said he was new in town. He tried to get information about Luke and Lulu, but Lupe stuck to business. When Dante said he would pay, Lupe held out a hand and invited Dante to her room. Lulu knocked on Javier's door and entered. Lulu wanted to know where to find Luke. Javier said he would tell her if she proved useful. Javier welcomed Lulu to her audition and told Lulu that he looked forward to being impressed. 6/28 In a private room at the brothel, Lulu ordered Javier to tell her where Luke was, but Javier wanted Lulu to show him what she could do. Lulu clarified that she wasn't a hooker, so she refused to sleep with him. Javier was curious why Lulu had assumed that he was interested in having sex with her. He explained that he needed a cocktail waitress. Lulu wasn't interested in working for Javier, so she once again demanded to know where Luke was. Javier explained that Luke drifted in and out of the brothel, but he conceded that he and Luke were working on a lucrative deal. Javier assured Lulu that she was welcome to wait for Luke to return, but Javier expected Lulu to make it worth his while. Lulu informed Javier that she could wait elsewhere while someone kept an eye on the place for her. Javier chuckled as he admitted that he was glad that she had friends whom she could trust. He threatened to warn Luke that someone had been asking questions if Lulu were to leave. Lulu wondered why she should trust Javier not to say anything to Luke if she agreed to take the job. Javier assured her that she was welcome to leave if she didn't like his terms. Lulu was curious about the deal that Javier and Luke were working on, but Javier was through talking. Lulu realized that she had few options, so she agreed to take the job, provided that she wouldn't be expected to sleep with any of the customers. Javier made it clear that he expected Lulu to be pleasant and to accept customers stuffing bills in her "panties" with a smile on her face. Lulu had little choice but to accept Javier's terms. Meanwhile, Lupe invited Dante upstairs to one of the rooms, but he politely declined and then explained that he simply wanted to talk. "Not another one," Lupe grumbled. However, she picked up her drink and then led him to a nearby table. Dante revealed that he had a girlfriend, whom he was committed to, so he didn't want to mess things up by sleeping with another woman. Lupe was curious why he wasn't with his girlfriend instead of trying to track down a "friend of a friend." Dante assured Lupe that he was willing to pay her for any information that she could provide, but Lupe insisted that it was too dangerous. Dante realized that she couldn't answer his questions, even if she had the information he was looking for, so he decided to seek her advice about his girlfriend. He admitted that he had been trying to reach out to his girlfriend, but she hadn't been receptive. Lupe suggested that his girlfriend was a fool if she were cheating on Dante. Dante quickly assured Lupe that infidelity wasn't the problem. According to Dante, his girlfriend was looking for something that wasn't there. Without mentioning names, Dante told Lupe about Lulu's decision to borrow money from Nikolas to fix up the Haunted Star, and Lulu's refusal to go to Paris with him. Lupe wondered how certain Dante was that his girlfriend wasn't cheating, so Dante explained that Lulu was searching for something that he feared would break her heart. Lupe glanced up to see Javier standing at the bottom of the staircase. Javier called Lupe over and then gave her some instructions. A short time later, Lupe folded Lulu's clothes as Lulu studied her reflection in the mirror. Lulu feared that no one would believe that she was just a cocktail waitress in the skimpy teddy that Lupe had lent her. Lupe assured Lulu that Javier wouldn't let anyone touch Lulu because Javier wanted Lulu for himself. Javier returned to the room. Javier seemed disappointed by the choice of teddy that Lulu wore, but he dismissed Lupe. Javier warned Lulu that she couldn't go out onto the floor until she smiled. Lulu plastered on a fake smile, which pleased Javier. Meanwhile, Dante was waiting for Lupe at the bar when she returned. Dante wondered if she'd had other customers like him, who had only been interested in talking. Lupe admitted that she had a special client who showed up a few times a year to throw around some money, and talk about his grand adventures. Dante's interest was piqued because he suspected that she had been referring to Luke. Lupe revealed that her client had been in a bad place because of family problems the last time that she had seen him. According to Lupe, the man had lost all hope. Dante was curious if the man had a name, but Lupe warned Dante that she never shared that information with anyone. Dante assured her that he understood, but he was curious what kind of adventures the man had talked about. Lupe feared that she had revealed too much already, so she refused to tell Dante anything else. Dante quickly changed the subject to ask for more relationship advice. Lupe suggested that if he had to chase after a girl who didn't appreciate what she had then he had already lost the girl. Lupe warned Dante that he couldn't take away his girlfriend's pain any more than his girlfriend could fix her family. Dante wondered what he should do, so Lupe advised him to go home. Dante was surprised because he had expected her to tell him what he had wanted to hear. Lupe confided that every time her special client had left, she had never asked where he was going or when he would return because she didn't want to hear him make promises that he couldn't keep. She admitted that she worried about the client, but the man had to find his own way, just like Dante's girlfriend had to. According to Lupe, they all had to work through their own pain. Dante promised to keep that in mind. Lupe announced that she had another customer, so Dante left. Dante was unaware that Lulu stood at the top of the staircase, watching him. 7/1 Dante picked the lock on Lulu's motel room. When Dante entered, Lulu thought he was an intruder and bashed him on the head. Lulu was dressed in a skimpy outfit and was ready to leave for her job at the bordello. She told Dante to go away. Dante observed that Lulu was obviously going undercover at a whorehouse to look for her father. Dante told Lulu that he loved her. Dante told Lulu that she could not control the situation. Lulu said that if her dad had survived his childhood in a brothel, then she could serve a few drinks. Dante asked Lulu what she would do if Luke showed up and did not want to go back to Port Charles. Lulu said that Luke was her dad, and if she wanted to live the rest of her life in a brothel with her father, she could. Lulu told Dante that she did not have time for conversation because she had to leave. Lulu threw a trench coat over her revealing pink costume and left a puzzled Dante alone. When Lulu arrived at the brothel, Lupe said that she was late. Lupe told Lulu to do herself a big favor and leave before Javier latched on to her. Javier moved in on Lulu and told her that she was late and would have to make up the time. He told her to put a smile on her face and start serving drinks. Dante arrived shortly after Lulu. He told Lupe that he wanted to spend more time with her and would pay. Javier greeted Dante and shook hands. Dante and Lupe went to a table and started talking. Lupe told Dante that Javier got nervous when strangers wanted talk instead of action. Javier found Lulu and told her to take an order from Lupe's table and find out what Dante and Lupe were talking about. Lulu pretended not to know Dante when she asked for his drink order. In a sexy voice Dante said it depended on what Lulu was offering. Dante said that he would like to pay for Lulu's time. Javier appeared at the table and wanted to know if there was a problem. Dante said that he had a thing for blondes and would pay double for Lulu 7/5 At the brothel, Dante offered to pay Javier double if Javier agreed to let Dante take Lulu to one of the rooms upstairs. Javier insisted that Lulu didn't sleep with the customers, so he offered Dante the pick of one of the other blondes. Lulu was stunned when Dante accepted. Lulu surprised everyone when she agreed to take Dante upstairs. Javier reminded Lulu that she had been hired to serve drinks, but Lulu refused to back down. In the room, Lulu was livid because she realized that Javier would expect her to sleep with customers. Dante insisted that Lulu didn't belong there. He also expressed concern about the way that Javier had looked at her. Lulu refused to leave until she had news about Luke, but Dante argued that it could be months before Luke surfaced. Dante warned her that even if Luke were to walk through the door, she might not be able to persuade Luke to return to Port Charles. Dante feared that things would end badly for Lulu. Lulu confessed that she hadn't realized, until she had worked at the brothel, just how difficult Luke's childhood had been. She finally understood what her father had been carrying around all of his life, so she refused to leave until she talked to Luke. Lulu wanted Luke to know how much she loved him, but Dante argued that Luke already knew that. Dante suspected that Lulu was trying to punish herself for failing to save Luke. Dante reminded her that it hadn't been her job. Lulu claimed that she knew that, but she needed her father. Dante warned Lulu that Luke could be gone for years. He was curious if she were willing to destroy herself to prove how much she loved Luke. Dante begged her to leave with him, but Lulu insisted that she felt as if something were about to break. Dante reminded her that he had to return to his job in Port Charles, so he pleaded with her to promise him that she would go home with him at the end of her shift if she hadn't received any new information about Luke. Lulu reluctantly agreed. In the parlor, Javier questioned Lupe about Dante. Lupe admitted that she and Dante had simply talked and that all she knew was that Dante liked blondes. Moments later, Javier received a phone call from Luke. Lupe listened as Javier made arrangements to meet Luke. After Javier ended the call, Dante and Lulu returned to the parlor. Javier grumbled that Dante had gone over the allotted time, so Dante had to pay extra. Dante handed over the money and then Javier instructed Lupe to walk Dante to the door. Lulu went to fetch her purse, but Javier insisted that she stay. Lulu reminded him that her shift was over, but Javier argued that Lulu had arrived late for work, so she couldn't leave until he told her that she could. After Javier walked away, Lupe checked to see how Lulu was doing because Lupe knew that the first time could be difficult. Lulu asked Lupe to keep Javier distracted, but Lupe suggested that Lulu might want to stay. Lulu was stunned when Lupe revealed that Luke had called Javier. 7/12 In Jacksonville, Lulu was looking at some papers, and a picture of her father, when someone knocked on her door. She tucked everything away and then answered the door. It was Javier. Javier instructed Lulu to grab her things, so that he could take her to breakfast before she started her shift. Lulu wasn't interested, but Javier refused to take no for an answer. He pushed his way into her room and then gave her a choice: Lulu could have the best Huevos Rancheros that she'd ever had or Javier could warn Luke that someone was looking for him. Lulu made it clear that she wasn't interested in dating Javier, but she reluctantly agreed to leave with him. Lulu followed Javier out of the room, while Dante hid around a corner in the hallway. Later, Dante entered the bordello. Lupe welcomed Dante back, but she warned him that Javier hadn't been happy with him. Dante seemed unconcerned. Moments later, Javier called Lupe over to help him with an unruly customer. Dante seized the opportunity to talk to Lulu, who had been working at the bar. Dante revealed that he had seen her leave with Javier, but he didn't have a chance to question her about it because the obnoxious customer decided that he wanted to take Lulu to one of the rooms. Things quickly escalated when Lulu slapped the customer after he grabbed her arm. Dante quickly stepped in to throw the customer onto a table. Dante pulled out his gun and then aimed at the man's head. Javier, who had been knocked to the ground by the customer, watched as Dante tossed the unruly customer out of the bordello. After Dante tucked his gun back into his waistband, Javier commented that Dante handled himself like a professional. Dante quickly explained that he had been a bouncer. Javier easily believed the lie, so he offered Dante a job. Dante followed Javier to the bar to discuss the terms of employment while Lupe checked on Lulu. Lulu asked Lupe to convince Javier not to hire Dante. Lupe was curious why, so Lulu explained that Dante would be too distracting to have around while she was searching for Luke. Lupe reminded Lulu that Luke might return soon and then revealed that they actually needed a bouncer. Meanwhile, at the bar, Javier reminded Dante that Dante had to keep his hands off of Lulu. Dante agreed, so Javier went to check on Lulu. Lupe was startled when she saw Dante take off his jacket and then quickly tuck his police badge out of sight. 7/13 At the brothel, Javier checked Lulu's injured arm, while Lupe made her way to the bar to talk to Dante. Lupe asked Dante about working as a bouncer in the past. Dante stuck to his cover story as he answered her questions. Lupe reminded him that he had told her that he was in Jacksonville to look for a friend of a friend, so she was curious if there might be another reason he was in town. Dante glanced at Lulu as he admitted that it might be worth his while to hang around. Lupe warned Dante that the "company policy" prohibited him from touching any of the girls. At the table, Javier was curious if Lulu had a problem with Dante working at the brothel. Lulu quickly assured Javier that Dante wouldn't be a distraction. Javier worried that she might have an issue with the new bouncer because she had turned a trick with Dante. Lulu reminded Javier that she was only working there until Luke showed up. Satisfied, Javier told her to take Dante's drink order. At the bar, Dante warned Lulu that she was in over her head, so he refused to let her out of his sight. Later, Javier reviewed the rules with Dante, including his dislike for cops. Javier was pleased when Dante admitted that he felt the same way about the law. Javier offered to send more work Dante's way if everything worked out. Dante assured Javier that he was agreeable to making more money, so Javier suggested that Dante could move some "product" from Colombia. Meanwhile, Lupe warned Lulu that she had seen Dante's police badge. Lulu advised Lupe not to say anything to Javier because he might turn violent with them. Lupe seemed uneasy, so Lulu promised to take care of it. Lupe wondered what Lulu could do, so Lulu suggested that a police officer might not want anyone to know that he had slept with a prostitute while on the job. Lulu explained that she intended to use the information to force Dante to leave town. Later, Lulu and Dante returned to Lulu's hotel room. Lulu warned Dante that Lupe had seen his badge. Lulu and Dante were unaware that Javier lurked in the hallway, eavesdropping on their conversation. 7/14 Dante tried to persuade Lulu to return to Port Charles with him, but Lulu refused to leave without her father. Dante argued that it wasn't a good idea to stick around, since Lupe knew that he was a police officer. Lulu was confident that Lupe trusted her to take care of Dante. Dante warned Lulu that people like Lupe and Javier didn't trust anyone, but Lulu argued that she had no reason to believe that Lupe would turn against her. Dante was curious what Lulu expected to happen when Luke showed up. "He'll understand how much I want him to come home," Lulu answered. Dante suggested that seeing Lulu in the brothel might remind Luke of when Bobbie had turned tricks for a living. Dante questioned why Lulu thought that she would succeed where Lucky had failed. Lulu explained that the intervention hadn't been her idea, so Luke would be more receptive to her. Dante had his doubts, but Lulu insisted that Luke was the only father that she had, so she refused to leave Jacksonville without him. At the brothel, Javier angrily demanded to know where Lulu was. Lupe nervously assured him that she would arrive shortly. Javier grabbed Lupe's face and then asked her why she hadn't told him that Dante was a cop. Lupe explained that she had wanted to, but Lulu had talked her out of it. Lupe revealed that she had been afraid that they would end up in jail if Javier killed a police officer. Lupe then confessed that Lulu had promised to get rid of Dante, but Javier reminded Lupe that Lulu had been lying from the beginning. Lupe promised Javier that she had been looking out for him, but Javier informed her that he could take care of himself. Later, Lulu arrived for her shift. Javier appeared seconds later to reveal that the brothel was closed because one of his best girls had died. Javier pulled out a switchblade and then played with it menacingly as he started to tell Lulu about the tragedy. Javier quickly tucked the knife away when Dante walked in. Dante apologized for being late and then asked where everyone was. Javier admitted that he was glad that Dante had showed up for work because they had unfinished business. Javier then revealed that Lupe had died. According to Javier, Lupe had been acting like a woman with a secret because she had been drinking heavily. Javier told them that Lupe had staggered to her room where she had slipped in the shower and then broken her neck. Lulu quickly recovered from her shock to ask about the funeral arrangements. Javier barked that everything had been taken care of and then ordered Lulu to take the rest of the day off; however, he wanted Dante to remain, so that Dante could turn away visitors, and help clean up. After Javier left the room, Lulu confessed that she didn't believe Javier's story. She confided that Javier had been waving around a knife before Dante's arrival, so she was certain that Javier had been responsible for Lupe's demise. Dante told Lulu to wait for him in her room and then walked her to the door. Javier lurked nearby, watching them. Later, Lulu returned to her room and found Javier waiting for her. Javier advised Lulu not to leave her passport lying around when she was using a false identity. Lulu started to explain, but Javier cut her off. He was curious why Lulu hadn't told him that she was Luke's daughter. 7/15 At Javier's Florida bordello, Dante questioned one of the sex workers who told him that the place was temporarily closed. Dante wanted to get details about Lupe's demise. The hooker was worried about Javier and told Dante that no one who crossed Javier lived to tell about it. Dante told the woman to take a long vacation as she left the bordello, dragging her suitcase behind. Meanwhile, Javier confronted Lulu in her motel room. Javier had found Lulu's passport and realized that Lulu was Luke's daughter. Lulu begged for Javier's help to locate Luke. Javier said that he knew that Lulu had been lying from the start. He said that he had watched and waited. Javier said that the watching had been enjoyable. He wondered out loud how a wreck of a man like Luke Spencer could have a daughter like Lulu. Javier told Lulu that Luke was unreliable. He told Lulu that he would help her locate Luke if Lulu compensated Javier. When Javier said that he would tell Lulu where Luke could be found if Lulu slept with Javier, Lulu said that she was not that desperate. Javier laughed and told Lulu that if she did not show up in his office by 5:00 p.m., he would call Luke and warn him that Lulu was looking for him. After Javier left Lulu, Dante went to Lulu's motel to tell her that Javier had killed Lupe. Lulu was undaunted. Lulu said that Javier had broken into her room and found her passport. Lulu said that Javier knew that she was Luke's daughter and had promised to help her if she slept with him. Dante was against that idea. Lulu said that she would not actually sleep with Javier. Lulu was convinced that she could get Luke's whereabouts out of Javier before she was forced to have sex with him. Dante wanted to leave town immediately, but Lulu said she was staying. Lulu convinced Dante that he could arrive at the bordello early and hide in Javier's closet. Lulu told Dante that he could listen from the closet and help out if Javier became too much for Lulu to handle. Lulu promised Dante that she would give up on trying to find Luke if her plan did not work. Dante reluctantly agreed and told Lulu to be careful. When Dante arrived back at the bordello, Javier and two thugs were waiting for him. They got the drop on Dante. Javier called Dante by name and let Dante know that Javier had found out that Dante was a cop. Javier said that he was going to kill Dante and leave his body in a nearby swamp, where it would never be found. Javier said that he would let Dante live long enough to let Dante hear Javier screw Lulu. Dante struggled against his two burly captors. Dante said he would kill Javier if Javier laid a finger on Lulu. After Javier left, Dante told the thugs that they would get in big trouble if they killed a cop. When Dante started yelling for Lulu, one of the thugs hit Dante in the mouth. Upstairs, Javier followed Lulu into his office. Lulu tried to get Luke's location from Javier, but he refused to give it to her. Instead he told her to relax. Javier told Lulu that she would find her time with him very pleasurable. Lulu asked how she could know that Javier would keep his end of the bargain. Javier told Lulu that first she should please him and then he would tell Lulu everything she wanted to know. Javier moved closer to Lulu, took her by the arms and kissed her. 7/18 Lulu broke the kiss and pushed Javier away. Lulu told Javier that nothing would happen until Javier told Lulu where Luke could be found. Javier glowered and looked threatening while Lulu looked expectantly at the closet where she believed Dante was hiding to watch. When Javier showed her the empty closet and said that Dante was tied up downstairs, Lulu tried to escape, but Javier grabbed her before she could get to the door. Downstairs, Dante pretended to be unconscious, which prompted his guard to kick Dante's foot and rip off the gag. Dante started talking to the guard about the consequences of killing a cop. Upstairs, Lulu told Javier that Luke would hunt Javier down and kill him if Javier hurt Lulu. Lulu told Javier that if he stopped, Lulu would walk away and pretend that nothing had happened. Javier said that Lulu had caused too much trouble for Javier to just walk away. Lulu continued to fight against Javier, who told Lulu that he liked women who fought. Javier pulled a knife and held it against Lulu's throat. Javier pushed Lulu down on the bed and jumped on top of her. Javier held the knife to her cheek and told Lulu that they could do it nice or rough. Dante managed to convince the guard to cut Dante loose and run away before the thug was arrested and sent to prison. Dante ran to Lulu and pulled Javier off her. Dante hit Javier in the face and knocked Javier to the floor. Dante pulled a gun on Javier as he lay flat on his back, and Dante reminded Javier that Dante had said he would kill Javier if Javier touched Lulu. Javier said that he had something that Lulu wanted. When prodded, Javier said that Luke was meeting a woman. Further question revealed that Luke was doing a deal with Helena Cassadine. Lulu was shocked. Lulu was crying when Dante escorted Javier downstairs. DVD #9B When Dante returned, Lulu said that Dante had arrived just in time. Lulu said that Javier had not raped her, but it had been close. Lulu apologized to Dante. Lulu said that she had been stupid and stubborn and had ignored the danger. Lulu said that she did not know why Dante was there for her. Dante laughed when he said that he did not expect Lulu to change anytime soon. When Lulu asked about Javier, Dante said that Javier was handcuffed for the local police. Lulu looked around the bordello and said that it was hard to imagine what a terrible life her father had had there. Lulu flicked a lighter and said that Lucky had had the right idea about burning a house down, but had chosen the wrong house. 7/22 In Greece, Lulu and Dante camped out near a cave on an island owned by the Cassadines. Lulu confessed that spending the night outdoors reminded her of going ice fishing with Luke. Dante admitted that the closest that he had been to nature, while growing up in Bensonhurst, had been a vacant lot overgrown with weeds. Lulu chuckled and then revealed that she was pleased with how things had worked out for them in Greece. She was happy that they had been able to sneak onto the island without being detected, so everything had gone according to plan. Dante was surprised. "You have a plan? That's fantastic; what is it?" he wondered. Lulu quickly changed the subject by reminding Dante that they had caught a major break when they had learned that Helena had spent a little time in Port Charles, even though it appeared that she had been focused on Nikolas. Dante clarified that Helena had been busy switching Aiden's paternity tests. Lulu confessed that it had been difficult to hear the news about Aiden's true paternity over the phone because she couldn't be there for her brothers. Dante reminded Lulu about her plan and then asked her for details. Lulu explained that Helena had never met Dante, so Lulu was confident that Dante would be able to apply for a job as part of Helena's security team without arousing suspicion. Dante thought that Lulu's plan sounded as risky as working at the bordello had been, but he was more concerned about why Lulu was setting herself up for heartache when Luke had made it clear that he didn't want to be found. Dante tried to persuade Lulu to give up her quest to find Luke, and instead spend a month backpacking across Europe with him. Lulu explained that she needed to hear from Luke that he didn't want to return to Port Charles before she could do that. Dante reluctantly agreed to go along with Lulu's plan, so a short time later, he entered the Cassadine castle. Helena greeted her visitor. Lulu eavesdropped on their conversation, via her cell phone, as Dante explained that he had been sent by a mutual acquaintance, Luke Spencer. Helena appreciated that Luke had been thinking of her, but she confessed that she never knew which way Luke was leaning. She was curious if Dante was a prospective security guard or spy. Dante assured her that he wasn't interested in any complications. Dante claimed that he had been caught up in the middle of a mob war, so Luke had sent him to Helena for a job. Helena smiled pleasantly as she admitted that she was interested, especially if Dante had any information about Luke and his family. Dante revealed that he hadn't seen Luke in weeks, but he had been given the impression that Luke had been headed to Greece. Dante casually wondered if Helena had talked to Luke recently, but Helena made it clear that she would ask the questions. Helena proceeded to interview Dante for the job by asking about his criminal past. Dante admitted that he'd had some troubles with the law, but he assured her that he was an expert marksman and was discreet. Helena explained that she would also require additional services, but didn't elaborate. Dante was surprised when Helena suddenly instructed him to take off his shirt and then pulled a knife from a display on the wall. 7/25 Dante did not obey Helena's order and take off his shirt. Helena said that she required immediate compliance from her employees. Dante said if Helena's objective was to find out if he was carrying a gun, then he was guilty. Dante said that he had a strict non-fraternization policy. Helena said that Dante had clearly not talked to Luke or he would realize Helena had specialized needs, and failure to comply with Helena's orders meant instant dismissal. Dante said that Luke had told him that Helena was lethal. Helena said that Dante's story was feeble. Helena said that Dante's girlfriend was as insipid as her mother. Helena told Dante that she knew who he was and that she had been amusing herself by toying with him. Helena told Dante that she expected Lulu to make an undignified entrance very soon. Lulu burst in immediately and called Helena "an old bat." Helena told Lulu and Dante that they were trespassing. Lulu asked Helena if she had Luke locked up in the dungeon. Lulu said that she and Dante would leave as soon as they saw Luke. Helena asked if it had occurred to Lulu that Luke might not want to see Lulu. Helena said that she would never lock Luke in the dungeon. Helena said that Luke had been amusing before he was tied down by family life. Helena thanked God that Luke had regained his senses. Helena asked Lulu if it had occurred to her that Luke did not want to see Lulu and that Luke did not want to be found by either his children or his wife. Lulu asked if Helena was speaking for Luke. Helena said it was time for Lulu to learn that men were no good. Helena said that the fact was that all men eventually left for something better. Helena advised Lulu to go back to Port Charles with Dante and concentrate on keeping her man home. When Lulu insisted that she trusted Dante, Helena speculated on whether or not Dante had already lied to Lulu or strayed. Helena asked Lulu if Dante had told Lulu that she was the only woman for him and that Dante had all he wanted in one compliant package. Lulu said that Dante was not like Luke. Helena said that all men were unreliable. Helena said that time would make a liar out of either Lulu or Helena and it would not be Helena. Lulu said that she was not there for relationship advice, but to find Luke. Dante wanted to leave with Lulu, but Lulu insisted on staying. Helena relented and said that she was meeting Luke in one hour on the Cassadine docks. Helena offered to let Lulu take her place. Helena left Dante and Lulu alone but lurked in the hallway, fingering a dagger while Lulu and Dante talked. Dante asked Lulu if she was sure that she wanted to see Luke. Lulu said that she was convinced that Luke would not reject her. Dante said that Luke might not show up and that Helena could be messing with them. Lulu reminded Dante that he had promised to support her. Lulu said that if she found her dad, all would be well. Dante wondered when Lulu would give up. He reminded her that he had a job and that they had a life back in Port Charles, which they were missing. Lulu promised that if Luke did not show, Lulu would go home with Dante. Dante asked Lulu to take a walk with him, so they could get some fresh air and clear their heads, but Lulu did not want to leave. Lulu wanted to stay put because she could see the docks from Helena's living room. After Dante left, Helena entered the room. Helena told Lulu that staying alone with Helena meant that Lulu was either very brave or very stupid. Helena said that either way, Lulu was going to be very, very sorry. 7/26 In Greece, Lulu was confident that Dante would return, but Helena suggested that Dante was torn between occupational curiosity and overprotectiveness towards Lulu, which Lulu clearly resented. Therefore, Helena was certain that Dante would be busy searching the castle for clues, if he didn't become distracted by one of the young maids. Lulu assured Helena that Dante wasn't like that, but Helena chuckled knowingly. Helena insisted that Lulu had a lot to learn about men. Helena then turned the conversation to Luke and Laura. Lulu immediately defended her parents by insisting that Luke and Laura had loved each other. Helena conceded that lots of men had loved Laura, including Helena's sons, Stavros and Stefan. Helena blamed Laura for Stavros and Stefan's deaths, so Helena thought that it was high time to even the score. Lulu grabbed a candlestick to defend herself, which made Helena laugh. Helena accused Lulu of trying to be like Laura, and then informed Lulu that she could never be like the "queen of adventure." Helena suggested that Lulu wanted to be like Laura because Lulu had no idea who the real Lulu Spencer was, or what she wanted. Helena realized that she might have been wrong about Dante losing interest in Lulu; Helena suspected that Lulu might end up leaving Dante. Lulu warned Helena that the mind games wouldn't work because Lulu and Dante loved each other. Helena chuckled and then informed Lulu that men didn't love young women like Lulu. According to Helena, men used girls like Lulu because men were base at their core. Helena explained that men gravitated towards women like Lulu because they wanted to balance their morality and be better men for it, but in reality, men were weak. Helena then held up the dagger as she asked if Lulu knew what Laura had once done with the deadly blade. Lulu insisted that she didn't want to hear, but Helena revealed that Laura had stabbed Stavros with the knife and then had pretended to be broken. Lulu reminded Helena that Laura had been a prisoner, but Helena argued that Stavros and Stefan had been the real prisoners. Helena claimed that Stavros had been bleeding as he had carried Laura to the bedroom. Lulu didn't want to hear any more, but Helena confessed that she thought that it was fitting that the Cassadine prince had been conceived "in a trail of blood." Lulu was curious if Helena wanted Luke to experience the same loss as Helena had. Helena smiled as she revealed that she intended to make the Spencers suffer the loss of Luke. Helena clarified that she intended to liberate Luke from his family ties. Helena was confident that Luke would be grateful, which, Helena explained, would beget more sway than control. Lulu smiled smugly when Dante suddenly entered the room. Helena accused Dante of being more predictable than she had thought. Helena invited Lulu to stay as long as she'd like because the sooner that Luke rejected Lulu, the better. After Helena left, Dante tried to persuade Lulu to leave. Lulu was certain that she would be able to convince Luke to return to Port Charles with her, so she refused. Dante reminded Lulu that there weren't any guarantees that Luke would show, but Lulu disagreed. Dante realized that he wouldn't be able to change Lulu's mind, so he decided to collect their things from the cave. Shortly after Dante left, Nikolas entered the room. 7/27 In Greece, Lulu was surprised to see Nikolas. She was curious how he had known that she was there, so Nikolas explained that he was there to see Helena. Helena descended the stairs in time to hear her grandson's remark. Helena warmly greeted Nikolas, but he advised Helena to save the civilities because he intended to. Helena ignored Nikolas' comment as she asked if Spencer and Aiden were with him. Nikolas revealed that Spencer was in a safe place and that Aiden's parents had Aiden. Helena feigned disappointment as she confessed that she had hoped that he hadn't given credence to Elizabeth's "eleventh hour" claim. According to Helena, Elizabeth wore desperation like some women wore perfume. Nikolas ignored the insult as he confessed that he wouldn't put it past Helena to manipulate a DNA test. "Or two," Lulu chimed in. Helena was curious why Lulu wasn't off having her own family illusions shattered. Lulu was confident that Luke wouldn't push his daughter away, so Helena suggested that Luke might not even show up. Helena then resumed talking about Aiden, but Nikolas warned Helena that Aiden wasn't any of her concern, so she should leave the child alone. Helena was pleased to see that the "dark brooding prince" had returned home. Nikolas quickly clarified that the castle in Greece had never been his home, but Helena disagreed. Helena revealed that she had recently told Lulu the story about Nikolas' conception. Lulu accused Stavros of forcing Laura to sleep with him, but Helena reminded Lulu of the adage about people in glass houses. Lulu argued that Luke and Laura had loved each other, but Helena insisted that they had grown to love each other.Helena reminded Lulu that Luke and Laura's first night together hadn't been a fairytale. Helena claimed that at least Stavros had the decency to consummate the affair in a bed. "Luke opted for the floor of a campus disco," Helena snidely added. Nikolas argued that there hadn't been anything decent about Stavros because he had been a monster. According to Nikolas, the Cassadine family tree was full of them, each one uglier than the one before. Helena was curious why, if Nikolas felt that way, he was in Greece. Nikolas accused Helena of trying to use him as a pawn, since the day he had been born, in her endless war with Luke. Helena denied it, so Nikolas revised his opinion. He suggested that he had been a Trojan horse, raised to hate the Spencers, and then offered up as a savior when Lulu had needed a donor. To Nikolas, it was proof of just how patient and opportunistic his grandmother was. Helena argued that Lulu had led a full life thanks to her efforts. Lulu wondered if Helena expected gratitude from her. Helena admitted that she didn't expect much from Lulu, and neither did Luke. Helena claimed that Luke had dedicated his efforts to Lucky, which had been a huge disappointment. Nikolas warned his grandmother that he wouldn't tolerate Helena pitting the people he loved against each other, but Helena insisted that she had merely been stating a fact; it was clear that Luke favored Lucky over Lulu. Helena attributed it to men wanting an heir to carry on their bloodline, and then pointed to the Cassadines as an example. Helena claimed that Stavros had been the chosen one, and that Stefan had been a disappointment. Nikolas insisted that it was because Helena had pitted her sons against each other, just as she had tried with Nikolas and Lucky. Helena didn't think that there was anything wrong with competition because it stimulated everyone. Nikolas argued that Helena had dropped him in the middle of the Spencers to keep the Cassadine war going, so he warned her that he wanted nothing to do with the "ignorant feud" or the Cassadines. Helena reminded him that he was a Cassadine and that he had been made in the image of Mikkos and Stavros, so their blood ran through his veins. Helena urged him to embrace it. "Careful what you wish for," Nikolas warned. Nikolas claimed that the castle had always felt like a prison to him. He had realized that Stavros had been determined to keep Laura there because she had been a breath of fresh air in the dank and suffocating environment of the ancestral home. Helena accused Laura of being an "insipid woman" who had ruined far too many men. According to Helena, Stavros had been the first. Helena also insisted that Luke had been saddled with a life in suburbia and then stripped of everything that was interesting, so she was happy that he had finally broken free. Lulu believed that Helena was delighted because she wanted Luke to self-destruct. Nikolas suggested that Helena and Luke had a "sick duet" going on with each other for decades, with no thought to who was hurt by it. Helena denied that she would ever hurt Nikolas, but he disagreed because of what she had done with Aiden's paternity tests. He demanded to know if she had planned to have him raise a Spencer as an ultimate act of revenge. Helena revealed that Nikolas was the very image of Stavros, but Stefan's influence shined through. Helena warned Nikolas that Stefan's weakness had ultimately destroyed him, so she warned Nikolas not to let it happen to him. After Helena left, Lulu admitted that Lucky had told her that Nikolas had left Port Charles for good. Nikolas apologized for not saying goodbye to Lulu, but he explained that he had needed to leave. She realized that he was hurt, but she warned him that running away didn't solve anything. Nikolas explained that he had to do the right thing for Aiden's sake because he needed to be a better father to Aiden than he had been to Spencer. Lulu was stunned to realize that Nikolas believed that he was Aiden's father. Nikolas confessed that he didn't know what the truth was, but it was possible that he was Aiden's father. Lulu urged him to take another DNA test, but Nikolas explained that it was necessary for Lucky to believe that Aiden was his son. Nikolas refused to be the reason that Lucky lost another child. 7/28 In Greece, Helena met with Luke in her office. She smiled with delight when he showed her the diamonds. Helena confessed that she wished that she could have seen the look on Javier's face when Javier had realized that Luke had double-crossed him, and then bragged that she and Luke could accomplish a lot when they worked together. Helena started to snatch the diamonds out of Luke's hand, but he quickly closed it. Helena pouted as she told Luke that she was tempted not to tell him about his "interesting visitor." Nikolas admitted that it felt as if he had returned to a scene of a crime. He suggested that the blood had been wiped clean, but he could still hear the screams inside the walls. Lulu reminded Nikolas that Laura hadn't let what happened to her in Greece define her, so Nikolas shouldn't either. Nikolas explained that he didn't have a choice because he was a Cassadine, who had been molded in the images of the ancestors before him, all monsters in their own right. Lulu warned her brother that Helena was trying to get inside of his head, but Nikolas revealed that it wasn't his head that he was concerned about; it was his heart. Lulu assured Nikolas that he had a good heart, but Nikolas warned her that he wasn't as selfless as she thought. Lulu argued that he had donated his bone marrow to save her life, and he had let Lucky be a father to Aiden. Nikolas insisted that Lucky had been hanging on by a string, so Lucky had needed to believe that Aiden was his son, whether it was true or not. Lulu believed that Nikolas' sacrifices were the definition of selfless. Nikolas' tone darkened as he recalled that everyone had been concerned about Lucky's reaction to learning that Laura had another son when Nikolas had first arrived in Port Charles. By contrast, no one had ever shown any concern for the position that Nikolas had been in. Lulu assured Nikolas that their mother loved him, but Nikolas argued that it was always about Lucky, and what would make Lucky happy. Nikolas confessed that he had begged for acceptance for years, trying to prove that he was worthy to be a part of the Spencer family, to no avail. Nikolas admitted that he had finally felt like he had a family when Aiden had been born. Nikolas had dreamed of Aiden and Spencer growing up the way that brothers should, but that had been taken away when everyone had expected Nikolas to give up Aiden, so that Lucky could be happy. Lulu reminded Nikolas that he had chosen to walk away. Nikolas bitterly wondered whether, if things had been reversed, people would have rushed to make certain that Aiden had ended up with him. Nikolas suspected that the answer would have been no. Lulu confessed that she had thought that Nikolas had wanted to move on. Nikolas revealed that he wanted to live without the Spencers or Cassadines in his life. Lulu wondered if she were looking at the new Nikolas, but Nikolas explained that there was nothing new about a Cassadine living in darkness. Nikolas no longer cared about what anyone thought. He suggested that the only person looking for approval was Lulu. Lulu questioned Nikolas about Luke again, but Nikolas advised his sister to leave Greece, and never return. Lulu wanted to know why Nikolas was so cold towards her. Nikolas poured himself a drink as he explained that he had decided to try an unfamiliar concept, meeting his needs. Lulu thought that Nikolas appeared to have done well for himself, but Nikolas argued that he had done well for others. Lulu wondered if he regretted donating his bone marrow to her. Nikolas clarified that he regretted not having a choice. Lulu insisted that Nikolas would have grown up to be like Helena if Laura hadn't claimed him. Nikolas confessed that he had no idea what kind of life he would have preferred, but he intended to find out. Lulu urged Nikolas to get away from Helena, or else he wouldn't have a chance, but Nikolas argued that he'd never had a chance. Nikolas raised his glass and then offered a toast. "To eternal damnation," Nikolas said before he took a drink. Lulu noticed that he was drinking Luke's favorite brand of scotch. Lulu once again questioned her brother about Luke, but Nikolas accused her of following Luke halfway around the world to tell her father that she loved him. Lulu explained that everyone else had given up on Luke. Nikolas chastised her for dragging her boyfriend "over the wicked walls of hell," just to join in on the insanity. Nikolas reminded Lulu that Dante had shown her every day that he loved her, and Lulu had repaid Dante by throwing Dante into the lion's den with Helena. Nikolas was curious what Lulu would have done if Helena had killed Dante. Dante appeared at the top of the stairs just as Nikolas suggested that Lulu only cared about being a hero like their mother. Dante entered the room, so Nikolas decided to leave. Lulu wondered where Nikolas was going. Nikolas scolded her for worrying about what everyone else was doing. After Nikolas left, Lulu announced that she was ready to go home because it was time for her to grow up. They quickly gathered their belongings and then prepared to leave. Lulu wanted to say goodbye to Nikolas, but Dante feared that it might be a stalling tactic. Lulu assured Dante that she wanted to leave because she realized that she couldn't save anyone; she wasn't her mother, so she had to live her own life. Dante suggested that she just wanted to help her family, but Lulu insisted that Dante was her family. They were unaware as they hugged that Luke lurked outside, watching them. Nikolas was walking the grounds of his ancestral home in Greece when Helena suddenly stepped out of the shadows. Helena admitted that he was the image of his father. Nikolas suggested that Helena's goal had been to groom, and program, a suitable replacement for Stavros. "All that rage. All that potential, wasted on that simpering baby dispenser, Elizabeth," Helena sneered. Helena implored Nikolas to remain in Greece with her, but Nikolas informed her that he was not the image of his father, or anyone else in the family. Helena was startled when Nikolas grabbed her face and then kissed her long and hard on the cheek. Afterwards, Nikolas warned her that no one, including Helena, should bet on what he would do next. After Nikolas walked away, Helena called someone. She told the person that it appeared that they would be working alone, but the good news was that the Spencers had never been more vulnerable. 8/2 At the loft, Dante playfully chased Lulu around after their shower. Lulu insisted that they had a lot of things to do, so they had to get dressed. Dante suggested that they have breakfast first, so Lulu opened the refrigerator. She quickly closed it when she discovered that the food inside was spoiled. She decided that their first stop would be the grocery store, but Dante had other ideas. He swept Lulu into his arms and then made love to her. Afterwards, Dante confessed that it was good to be home. Lulu admitted that there was something to be said about their road trip, but Dante didn't want to discuss it, so she changed the subject by kissing her. Moments later, Ronnie knocked on the door. Dante reluctantly answered the door and then explained that he had been in the middle of something. Ronnie pushed past Dante as he pointed out that Dante had been busy for a month, so it was time for Dante to return to work. Ronnie spotted Lulu lounging in bed, so he asked to have a private word with Dante. Lulu wrapped the bed sheet around her and then went to the bathroom to change. Ronnie filled Dante in about Lucky's new case, and Mac's concern that Lucky might relapse. Ronnie resented being relegated to Lucky's babysitter, so he wanted Dante to help keep an eye on Lucky. Lulu emerged from the bathroom shortly after Ronnie left. She was curious what Ronnie had talked to Dante about, but Dante reminded Lulu that he couldn't always talk to her about his work. Lulu seemed pacified with the answer, so Dante explained that he had to leave. Dante reminded her that the refrigerator needed attention, so Lulu warned him that he would owe her big for cleaning it up. Later, Tracy stopped by to welcome Lulu home, and to get an update about Luke. Lulu admitted that she hadn't found her father. Lulu confessed that she had realized that it wasn't her job to look for Luke, so she had returned home. Tracy realized that it had been a difficult decision for Lulu to make because Lulu had been desperate to find Luke. Lulu thought perhaps it was for the best because her expectations had been high. Lulu admitted that she had finally accepted that it wasn't her job to keep her family together. Lulu suggested that if Luke wanted to see her, then he would find a way. Tracy was proud of Lulu. As they talked, Lulu mentioned that Luke and Helena were in cahoots. Tracy wasn't surprised. Tracy confessed that she occasionally imagined what she would say if Luke were to return. Lulu felt bad for Tracy, but Tracy just wanted Lulu to promise to stay safe because Tracy couldn't lose Lulu on top of Luke. Tracy then announced that she was ready for the next chapter in her life. Lulu suggested that things could still pan out with Luke, but Tracy was ready to move forward. Later, Tracy went to the Haunted Star to pack up Luke's office. The episode featured a montage to, “Dreaming With A Broken Heart” by John Mayer. 8/4 Later, Lulu knocked on the apartment door, but no one answered. She was surprised when she found the door unlocked, so she opened the door and then tentatively entered the apartment as she called out to Lucky and Siobhan. Seconds later, Ethan appeared in the apartment's doorway. Lulu explained that no one was home, so Ethan explained that Siobhan had experienced a nosebleed earlier that had concerned him. Ethan had stopped by to see how Siobhan was doing. He decided to check around the apartment to make certain that Siobhan hadn't collapsed. A few minutes later, Ethan returned to the living room to confirm that no one was home. Lulu decided to leave a note for Lucky, since she hadn't been able to reach him by phone. "That's so 80s of you," Ethan remarked with a chuckle. Lulu confessed that she had no idea what to say because telling Lucky that she had given up on searching for Luke sounded lame. Ethan disagreed; he thought that it sounded like Lulu had made progress. Ethan then commended Lulu for making the right call about their father. Lulu conceded that she couldn't throw her life away just to prove something to Luke. Ethan suggested that Luke needed to work things out for himself, but Lulu argued that Luke wasn't doing that. Lulu explained that Luke had put himself into more danger by aligning himself with Helena over some diamonds. Ethan smiled as he confessed that it sounded as if their father were up to his old tricks, which Ethan thought was a good sign. Lulu couldn't understand how Ethan could be so casual about it. Ethan argued that Luke and Helena were cut from the same cloth, so they would likely have some fun. Lulu started to explain why Ethan's attitude wasn't realistic, but then she realized that she had fallen into the same old pattern of worrying about her father. Ethan admitted that "naïve optimism" worked best in difficult situations, and then remarked that they couldn't stop Luke any more than they could stop Lucky. "Lucky?" Lulu asked. Lulu wanted to know what was going on, so Ethan told her about Lucky's investigation. Lulu became alarmed when she realized that the investigation involved Lucky's drug of choice. She insisted that she needed to find Lucky and then left. At the hospital, Elizabeth slipped out of the supply closet, clutching a paper bag. Dante called out to Elizabeth, and then wondered if she had heard from Lucky. Elizabeth shook her head and then admitted that she doubted that Lucky had gone home to Siobhan because Siobhan would assume the worst. Dante agreed that Lucky would be too paranoid to turn to Siobhan, so he suggested that they call the police to help find Lucky. Elizabeth pleaded with Dante to reconsider because everyone would think that Lucky had slipped and then label him an addict. Elizabeth refused to give up on Lucky, so Dante assured her that he hadn't given up on Lucky either. However, Dante was desperate to save Lucky's life, so he feared that Lucky might be harmed if he weren't found soon. Elizabeth warned Dante that if they involved the police then they would be playing right into the hands of the men who had injected Lucky with the drugs. Elizabeth suspected that Lucky had been targeted because Lucky had gotten too close to the drug ring, so she didn't want him to lose his badge because of what had happened. Dante reminded her that they could back up Lucky's story, but Elizabeth pointed out that Dante had doubts about Lucky. Elizabeth suggested that if Lucky's close friend wasn't fully convinced of the story then Mac and Internal Affairs were less likely to believe that Lucky had been shot up full of drugs against his will. Elizabeth begged Dante to give her a few hours to find Lucky. Dante noticed the bag, so he asked her if she had taken drugs from the supply closet. Elizabeth readily admitted that she had, so Dante reminded her that she could get in trouble. "Then arrest me," Elizabeth defiantly replied. Dante assured her that he would pretend that she had received a requisition for the drugs. They made arrangements to stay in touch and then went their separate ways to search for Lucky. At the hospital, Lulu heard the tail end of Dante's phone call. She started to ask him about it, but then realized that Dante didn't want to talk about it. Lulu didn't want to put Dante in a position where he felt compelled to lie to her, so she explained that she had heard about Lucky's case. Lulu revealed that she intended to find Lucky to have a word with him and then walked away. 8/8 A violent storm hit Port Charles, causing brownouts and poor driving conditions. Lulu arrived looking for Lucky, and hurt Maxie's feelings by assuming that Lucky would go to Maxie to get drugs. Jackal P.I. made an even bigger leap and asked if Crimson's photos of cupcakes were really advertisements for drug sales. Jackal P.I. was very taken by Lulu and called her "Moonlight." He gave Lulu several admiring compliments, but treated Maxie like a trollop. Maxie took Lulu aside and told her that Spinelli had a real problem and needed help. Lulu said that Spinelli was just acting and Maxie was jealous. Maxie said that Spinelli was in real trouble and that as Jackal P.I., he had confronted Anthony Zacchara and was lucky to still be alive. Jackal P.I. interrupted them and reminded Lulu that it was her birthday. She was thrilled that he remembered. Lulu said that it had made her day; she asked how she could repay him. Jackal P.I. said that a smile from Moonlight was all the thanks he needed. Maxie convinced Lulu to help out at Crimson so she could take Spinelli to the hospital. As they were about to get on the elevator, the lights went out. In the aftermath of an accident as the rain poured down, Elizabeth found an unresponsive Siobhan just as Dante pulled up. Elizabeth had not been able to get 911 because the cell towers were down in the storm. Dante used his police radio to call for help. When the ambulances arrived, Elizabeth wanted to go look for Lucky. Dante said that she was in shock and had to go to the hospital before she could search for Lucky. Dante said that he would help her after a doctor checked her out. Carly grabbed Dante and told him to call and tell Olivia to meet Carly at the hospital. 8/9 Olivia found Dante sitting in the waiting area, so she insisted that he loan her his car keys. Dante wanted to know why, because he was concerned about his mother driving in bad weather, but Olivia refused to explain herself. She snatched the keys from her son and then left. A short time later, Dante found Elizabeth pacing in the hallway. Elizabeth admitted that it would be her fault if Siobhan died. Dante advised Elizabeth, as a friend, to stop saying things like that because people might begin to believe her. Elizabeth reminded him of the drugs that she had stolen, so Dante reminded her that they had been requisitioned. Elizabeth's weak smile disappeared as she implored Dante to keep his word about not telling anyone about Lucky. Dante thought that they should deal with more pressing matters first. He instructed Elizabeth to keep it simple if anyone questioned her about what had happened to Siobhan. Dante suggested that Elizabeth admit that she and Siobhan had argued, but to keep the details to a minimum without being evasive. Dante also advised Elizabeth to remain consistent about her story. Elizabeth wondered if Dante thought that she had pushed Siobhan down the stairs. Dante assured Elizabeth that accidents happened. Elizabeth relaxed as she confessed that her misery had begun before Siobhan had arrived in Port Charles. She revealed that Lucky had been planning to buy a plot of land in the woods, build a house, and marry Elizabeth, but all the while, Elizabeth had been sleeping with Nikolas. Elizabeth explained that Lucky had accepted a job with Interpol to get away from her, but Dante argued that Lucky had been strong-armed into accepting the assignment, so it hadn't been about Elizabeth. Elizabeth thought that everything could have been avoided, including Siobhan's injuries, if she had made things work with Lucky, when they had planned to build their dream house. Dante suggested that thinking like that didn't helping anyone. According to Dante, Elizabeth's affair had been a mistake, but everyone made mistakes. Elizabeth warned Dante that some mistakes cost more than others did. Later, Dante hoped it was a good sign that no one had left the operating room, so Elizabeth suggested that Siobhan might have stabilized. Elizabeth panicked when Dante suggested that it was time to call the police to help find Lucky. Elizabeth reminded Dante that Internal Affairs would likely fire Lucky, so she begged Dante to give her more time. As they talked, Elizabeth realized that she might know where Lucky had gone, so she dashed off with a promise to call Dante as soon as she located Lucky. 8/10 At the nurses' station, Patrick asked Matt about Siobhan's condition. Matt admitted that Siobhan had stabilized. Patrick wondered if Siobhan's previous head injury had been aggravated by the crash, so Matt confessed that it was complicated because he had learned that Siobhan had suffered an injury prior to the accident. Dante eavesdropped as Matt expressed frustration that Lucky hadn't checked on Siobhan. Matt shared the few sketchy details that he knew about Siobhan and Elizabeth's altercation, so Dante stepped forward to remind both brothers that Siobhan's fall had been an accident. Matt reminded Dante of Elizabeth's previous mishap in the operating room, so Matt feared that Siobhan's recent injury would look suspicious. Dante suggested that they all focus on their jobs, and then walked away. Patrick changed the subject by asking Matt for a second opinion about something that had been found on Jason's scans. 8/11 At Carly's house, Carly left Jax a voicemail message, pleading with him to return Josslyn. Carly assured Jax that they could talk things out, to avoid any further problems. After Carly ended the call, Dante appeared in the doorway. Carly resented Dante letting himself in, uninvited, but Dante informed her that the front door had been left wide open. Dante revealed that he knew that Sonny was looking for Jax because Jax had taken Josslyn. He warned Carly that nothing would stop Sonny, even if Jax were to return Josslyn. Carly assured Dante that she hadn't talked to Sonny, so she didn't know where Sonny was or what Sonny intended to do. Dante suggested that people had illusions about Sonny when they told themselves that Sonny would have compassion for Jax, as a father, but Dante was confident that he and Carly knew better. Dante insisted that there was no reasoning with Sonny when Sonny was fixated on something. Carly was adamant that she didn't know where Sonny was, but Dante didn't believe her because he knew that Carly could lie with total conviction for Sonny. Dante accused Sonny of destroying Jax in retaliation for Jax taking Brenda away. Carly demanded to know what Brenda had to do with anything. Dante explained that payback was all that mattered to Sonny. Dante suggested that Carly might feel the same way, so she wasn't concerned about Jax. Carly assured Dante that she didn't want anything to happen to Josslyn's father, so Dante reminded Carly that Sonny was also the father of her children, and others. Dante didn't want to see his father face a life sentence in jail because things had gotten out of control. Carly vowed to fly to Rome to "kick Brenda's ass," but Dante insisted that it wasn't Brenda's fault. Carly argued that Brenda had not only left Sonny, but she had twisted the knife by flying off with Jax. Dante suggested that perhaps it had been Jax's idea. Carly insisted that Brenda could have said no, so Jax hadn't forced Brenda to leave with him. Carly complained that Brenda needed constant attention, so Brenda had wanted Jax and Sonny at each other's throats. Dante pointed out that Carly was admitting that Sonny's quest to find Jax was all about revenge. Carly argued that it was about finding Josslyn, but she had no idea where Sonny was. Dante asked Carly to help him figure out where Jax might be, but Carly claimed that she would have gone there if she had known. Dante confessed that Carly was a cop's worst nightmare because it was impossible to tell if she were being truthful or not. Carly smiled, and then admitted that she would lie about almost anything except her child's safety. Dante ordered Carly to continue trying to reach Jax, to get him to return Josslyn, and then urge Jax to leave town before Sonny killed him, and "screws us all." Dante found Sonny waiting for Jax in Jax's private jet. Dante was curious why Sonny was so intent on trying to destroy Jax. Sonny explained that Dante couldn't understand because Dante didn't know Sonny's history with Jax. Dante questioned Sonny's motives for wanting to find Jax. Dante was certain that Sonny wanted revenge for Jax taking Brenda out of Sonny's life. Sonny insisted that Jax had worked Brenda by telling her that she wouldn't be a good mother if she didn't leave Sonny. Dante argued that Sonny was delusional; Brenda had left Sonny because Sonny had framed Jax for drugs and an attempted assault. Sonny angrily demanded to know if Brenda had told Dante that. Dante explained that he knew what it was like to be in Brenda's shoes because Dante had admired and respected Sonny until Sonny had shot Dante in the chest. Sonny thought that they had gotten past that. Dante insisted that Brenda had left because Brenda didn't care enough for Sonny to risk her son's life. Dante claimed that it was on Sonny, so Sonny should "man up," and face it, instead of blaming Jax. Sonny believed that he could have stopped Brenda, but he had let her go because it had been for the best. However, Sonny had been infuriated when he had learned that Jax had been feeding Brenda lies. "Screw him," Sonny shouted. Dante claimed that Brenda had always been the one thing that Sonny couldn't touch without breaking, so she had been out of Sonny's reach. Dante insisted that Sonny had broken Brenda. Dante confessed that he had been stunned when he had learned that Sonny had been Brenda's great love because Dante had known that Sonny was an emotional train wreck. Sonny always saw a betrayal where there wasn't one. Sonny disagreed, and then reminded Dante that the lies that Dante had told in the beginning, which had been a betrayal. Sonny refused to let Jax think that Jax had won, so Sonny vowed to find Josslyn. Dante argued that it wasn't about Josslyn; Sonny just couldn't stand that Jax had been able to get one over on Sonny. Dante decided that he had to stop Sonny, so he asked Sonny to turn over the gun. Sonny refused, so Dante decided to arrest his father. Sonny refused to cooperate at first, but then placed the gun on the table. However, Dante lowered his guard, so Sonny seized the opportunity to sucker punch Dante, which knocked Dante out. 8/15 At the Crimson offices, Spinelli, still channeling the Jackal P.I. persona, Lulu and Maxie were looking through dresses on the designers' rack. Jackal P.I. wanted Lulu, who he called Moonlight, to wear a dress he had chosen for her birthday celebration. Maxie took Lulu aside and tried to convince Lulu that Spinelli was not pretending, but actually believed that he was Jackal P.I. Lulu accused Maxie of being jealous of the attention that Jackal P.I. was paying to Lulu. Maxie said that she had a relationship; she said that her reason for helping was because Spinelli had a life and he deserved to live it and not the fake life of Jackal P.I. Lulu agreed to wear the dress. When she appeared in it, Jackal P.I. waxed eloquent over Lulu's virtues. Lulu said that she could not have a relationship with him because she was in a relationship already. Jackal P.I. told her not to attach herself to a loser like Dante. When Jackal P.I. called Lulu "Moonlight," she told him that was not her name. Lulu said that the girl Jackal P.I. had loved in the past was Georgie, who had been killed before she could declare her love for him. Jackal P.I. blinked a few times, got very quiet and then walked away and lay down on top of a desk in the fetal position. Lulu and Maxie both worried that Spinelli was neither himself nor Jackal P.I. Lulu suggested that he might need professional help. Maxie said that Spinelli when normal might be mistaken for someone needing professional care. Maxie vowed that she would find a way to get Spinelli back. Dante arrived at Carly’s and wanted to know where Sonny and Jax were. Dante said that Carly could not protect Sonny. When Carly gave evasive answers, Dante said he had put out an APB on both Sonny and Jax. Carly was horrified that either Sonny or Jax would end up in prison. Dante said Jax was better off in prison that dead. Dante said that Sonny wanted to kill Jax. Carly said that Sonny would calm down. Carly said that Sonny was hurt but would not do anything stupid. Dante said that Sonny had already attacked him. Dante said he had to find Sonny and that there was no reasoning with Sonny in his current condition. Carly said that putting Jax and Sonny in prison was not the solution; she told Dante to back off and let the family handle it. Dante told Carly to stay out of his way while he took the legal way. Shawn told Dante that he would look after Carly and Josslyn. 8/16 At the police station, Dante escorted Sonny into the interrogation room, and then handcuffed Sonny to the table. Dante explained that Sonny would be charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. Sonny downplayed the incident on the plane by insisting that it had just been an argument between a father and son. Dante was unmoved by the argument, so Sonny suggested that Dante's pride had been hurt. Dante argued that he was sick of Sonny always ignoring the law, so Dante thought that Jax would be safer with Sonny locked up. Sonny called Diane to leave a message, but Dante snatched the phone away from Sonny and then walked out of the interrogation room. Dante entered the squad room just as Lulu walked in. Lulu was startled when she saw the bruise on Dante's jaw, but Dante brushed it off as a mild scuffle with a perpetrator. Lulu accepted the explanation, so she shifted gears to ask if he had heard from Lucky. Dante reminded Lulu that Lucky was working on a case, but Lulu insisted that she was concerned because Dante had no idea what Lucky had been like during Lucky's addiction to pills. Lulu couldn't believe that Mac would assign Lucky a case that might compromise Lucky's sobriety. Dante was confident that Lucky would be fine, but he couldn't discuss it with Lulu because he had to work. Lulu was miffed that Dante wanted to wait until he was off-duty to discuss Lucky's case, but she accepted his decision. Moments later, Lulu received a call from Ethan about Siobhan and Elizabeth's car accident. Ethan explained that he was at the hospital with Siobhan because he didn't think that Siobhan should be left alone when Lucky was nowhere to be found. After Lulu left, Dante returned to the interrogation room to check on Sonny. Sonny demanded to be released, but Dante refused to consider it. Dante wanted to give Jax plenty of opportunity to get away. Sonny confidently informed Dante that Jax wouldn't be going anywhere, so Dante immediately demanded to know what Sonny had done. Sonny promised that Dante wouldn't get a confession out of him, so Dante warned Sonny that if anything happened to Jax then Sonny would be the prime suspect. Sonny argued that if he had done anything to Jax, he wouldn't have denied himself the pleasure of watching Jax die. At the hospital, Lulu was trying to find out which room Siobhan was in when Lucky and Elizabeth arrived. Lulu scolded Lucky for dropping out of sight, but Lucky made it clear that he wasn't in the mood to hear a lecture from Lulu. Elizabeth explained that Lucky had been on a stakeout, but that raised questions with Lulu because Lulu was curious how Elizabeth had known how to get in touch with Lucky when no one else had been able to. Lucky ignored Lulu's questions by demanding that a nurse update him on Siobhan's condition. Lulu sensed that something was off with Lucky, so he reminded her that he had just learned that his wife had been admitted to the hospital. Lucky was curious how Lulu expected him to act. Lulu admitted that if she hadn't known better, she would suspect that Lucky was on something. Elizabeth suggested that Lucky go to visit Siobhan, while Elizabeth stayed behind to answer Lulu's questions. Lulu quickly assured Lucky and Elizabeth that it wasn't necessary because Lulu realized that she had been insensitive. However, Lulu was concerned because Lucky seemed "strung out." Elizabeth assured Lulu that Lucky was fine, but Lulu wondered why it was any of Elizabeth's business. Elizabeth explained that she was just being a supportive friend to Lucky, but Lulu argued that Elizabeth was enabling Lucky. Lucky grew weary of Lulu's suspicions, so he informed her that he looked the way that he did because he had been trying to blend in during the investigation. He made it clear that he might look the part, but he was not using drugs. Lucky then told his sister that just because Lulu had failed to find Luke, didn't mean that she should look for their father in Lucky. Lucky insisted that he wasn't Luke, and never would be. After Lucky stormed off, Lulu sought out Ethan. Lulu was curious what Ethan thought about Lucky's condition. Ethan confessed that it looked as if Lucky had been on a "bender," but Ethan wasn't convinced that Lucky had relapsed. Lulu claimed that Elizabeth had been covering for Lucky, and that it was curious that Elizabeth had known where to find Lucky. They both looked up when they saw Elizabeth approach the doorway to Siobhan's room and then stop to watch as Lucky sat at his wife's bedside. 8/17 Lulu walked into Siobhan’s hospital room, and then immediately questioned Lucky about the stakeout. Lucky assured Lulu that he had rushed to Siobhan's side as quickly as he could, but Lulu wondered if it had been Elizabeth's idea to stay glued to Lucky's side. Lucky explained that Elizabeth had been helping him, but Lulu appeared to have doubts. Lulu reminded Lucky that he had been dealing with Jake's death, Luke's disappearance, Siobhan's health crisis, and the investigation. Lucky assured Lulu that the doctor was confident that Siobhan would wake up soon. Lulu suggested that Lucky should focus on Siobhan rather than the investigation, but Lucky saw through her ploy. He accused Lulu of being worried about his close proximity to the drugs during the investigation. Lulu argued that police work was stressful, so Lucky informed her that lecturing him didn't help. Lulu pleaded with Lucky to consider taking a leave of absence until Siobhan had recovered. Lucky resented that Lulu saw him as a substitute for Luke, whom she had failed to save, so he ordered her to leave. At the police station, Sonny paced in his jail cell after having spent the night in lockup. Dante paid his father a visit, but Sonny wanted to know if Diane had arrived. "Not yet," Dante replied with satisfaction. Sonny returned the smile as he advised Dante to release him before Diane filed a lawsuit against the police department. Dante assured Sonny that Sonny would not be going anywhere for a long time, but Sonny argued that Dante was violating his rights by questioning Sonny in the jail cell. Dante wondered if Sonny had truly expected Dante to look the other way while Sonny broke the law. Sonny was surprised when Dante suddenly changed the subject by demanding to know what Sonny had done to Jax's plane. Sonny claimed that he had no idea what Dante was talking about, but he was furious that Dante had let a kidnapper escape. Dante argued that Jax had returned Josslyn to Carly, and that Carly had decided not to press charges against Jax, so a crime hadn't been committed. Sonny didn't see the point in continuing the debate because Jax had left town. Dante revealed that Jax hadn't gotten far because Jax's plane had crashed into the harbor. Dante reminded Sonny that Sonny had bragged to him that Jax wouldn't be leaving town, and that Sonny had been on Jax's plane shortly before Jax had taken off in the jet. Sonny claimed that he had only been trying to get Josslyn back, but Dante argued that Sonny had been out to kill Jax because Jax had helped Brenda to leave. Sonny reminded Dante that Dante didn't have any proof of that. Dante suggested that a "diminished capacity" plea would be the way for Sonny to go because of Sonny's manic depression. Sonny's temper flared as he warned Dante not to go there, but Dante was curious if that was his father talking, or the mobster. Sonny accused Dante of being bitter because Sonny had not been the father that Dante had wanted him to be. Dante warned Sonny that Sonny had better hope that they found Jax alive, or Sonny would be facing murder charges. Dante went to Carly's house to tell Carly about Jax's plane crash. Shawn explained that Carly wasn't home, so Dante revealed that it might be best if she heard the news from Shawn. Dante admitted that they hadn't recovered a body, but Dante was certain that Jax had perished because Sonny had sabotaged the jet. However, Dante needed a corroborating witness to put Sonny on the plane because Dante's testimony would be considered biased. Shawn confessed that he had seen Sonny on the jet earlier that evening. 8/18 At the police station, Carly was stunned when she heard Dante accuse Sonny of murdering Jax. Sonny admitted that he wouldn't cry if it were revealed that Jax had died. Furious, Carly marched up to Sonny, violently slapped him across the face, and then yelled, "You bastard!" Carly demanded that Sonny admit that he had killed Jax, but Sonny refused to discuss anything without his attorney present. Carly resented Sonny hiding behind Diane, so she insisted that Sonny look her in the eye, and tell her the truth. Sonny offered to talk to her in the car, so he reached for her arm to lead her away, but Carly jerked her arm out of Sonny's grasp. Dante told Carly that shortly after Jax had taken off in the jet, the plane had crashed into the harbor. According to Dante, the jet had broken apart upon impact. Carly's eyes filled with tears as Dante assured her that they had dive teams searching for a body, but he didn't want to give Carly false hope because Jax had likely perished in the crash. Carly turned to Sonny for answers, but Sonny insisted that he would only speak to her privately. Dante suggested that Sonny simply wanted to get their cover stories straight. Carly vowed to think of a way to punish Sonny for what he had done. Dante entered the interrogation room to let Sonny know that Sonny was free to go. However, Dante suggested that Sonny not expect anyone to be waiting for Sonny at home. Sonny claimed that he was a big boy, so he could handle it, but Dante argued that inside, Sonny was a sad, angry kid from Bensonhurst, who had "come full circle." Dante advised Sonny to move to the private island where everyone was paid to pretend to like Sonny. 8/19 Lulu wrote a note for Dante as she prepared to leave the loft, but Dante arrived home before Lulu could decamp. Dante said that he'd had a bad night. Lulu said that she was not happy with the outcome of her conversation with Lucky either. Dante said that seeing Lulu made everything better. They started kissing passionately and made love. In the afterglow, as they lay in bed, Lulu asked about Dante's jaw. Dante told her about his encounter with Sonny on Jax's plane and the possibility that Jax was dead. Dante said that where Sonny was concerned, Dante felt like a little kid with daddy issues. Lulu said that she was worried about what Lucky was doing and why he had left the hospital instead of staying by Siobhan's side. Lulu said that she was convinced that Lucky was hiding something. Dante complained about the cold when Lulu gave him an ice pack for his swollen jaw. Lulu laughingly told him to man up. Lulu was delighted when Dante said that he had taken the day off so he could spend the day celebrating Lulu's birthday. Lulu was touched that Dante remembered. Dante said that Lulu deserved to be remembered every day, especially on her birthday. Dante took a gilt-wrapped box out of a cupboard and gave it to Lulu. Lulu told Dante that knowing he loved her was more special that anything in the box. Dante teased Lulu about opening the present. Lulu took her time as she carefully unwrapped the box. Inside she found a key to the loft. She was puzzled because she already had one. Dante said the key went with what else was in the box. When Lulu looked deeper she found a doorplate engraved, "Falconeri/Spencer." When Lulu still did not get it. Dante said that it was his slick, awesome way of asking Lulu to move in with him. 8/24 On the waterfront, Dante demanded that the divers continue to search the water for evidence, but the lead diver explained that they had to suspend the operation until the morning. Olivia immediately sensed her son's frustration as she walked up. She was curious if Dante were looking for evidence that Jax were alive or if Dante's focus were to gather proof of Sonny's guilt. The diver walked away as Dante accused Sonny of murdering Jax. Olivia admitted that she wasn't ready to write Jax off because she believed that Jax was alive. Dante vowed that if Jax were dead then Sonny would pay for the crime. Dante's temper flared when Olivia referred to Sonny as Dante's father. Olivia blamed herself for Dante's attitude because she had excluded Sonny from Dante's life. Dante reminded her that she'd had good reason for that, and then added that Sonny's other children had deserved better than someone like Sonny for a father. Dante refused to keep letting Sonny off the hook because Dante realized that it only encouraged Sonny to keep hurting people. Dante regretted that he had let Sonny get away with shooting him, so he refused to repeat the mistake. Olivia clarified that she would never ask Dante to compromise himself for Sonny, but she was certain that deep down inside, Dante knew Sonny better than Dante was willing to admit. Dante agreed, which was a problem for him. Olivia reminded Dante that he had once confided that he had liked Sonny, in spite of the fact that Sonny was a criminal. Dante claimed that Sonny could be a different person when Sonny thought that someone was useful to him. Olivia suggested that Dante was trying to rewrite history, so she pointed out that Dante and Sonny had gotten along during their search for Alec. Dante argued that it had been because Dante had served a purpose. Olivia insisted that Dante had felt a connection to Sonny, but Dante argued that it didn't mean that he had to turn a blind eye to Sonny's wrongdoings. Dante's anger fizzled out when Olivia conceded that Dante had always tried to see the best in people, so she didn't want her son to beat himself up over the situation with Sonny. Moments later, the diver returned to notify Dante that they had found something. 8/30 At Metro Court Hotel, Olivia hugged Dante as she wondered if there had been any word on Jax. Dante admitted that Jax was still missing, so Olivia confessed that she refused to give up hope until a body had been recovered. Olivia then changed the subject by asking why Dante had stopped by to see her. Dante revealed that he was troubled because Lulu hadn't liked her birthday gift. Olivia invited him to tell her all about it, so he explained that he had given Lulu a key to the loft, and then had asked Lulu to move in. Olivia was disappointed by the uninspiring birthday gift. She wasn't surprised when Dante admitted that Lulu hadn't given him an answer. Olivia conceded that it had been a sweet gesture, but Dante's execution had lacked imagination. She suggested that jewelry would have been a nice touch, since he could have asked Lulu to move in on any other day. However, Lulu's birthday had been a special day, so Dante should have treated it as such. Olivia then talked about how romantic her father had always been, so she advised Dante to take a page out of his grandfather's book. Olivia smiled with satisfaction when Dante assured her that he had gotten the message loud and clear, but she sensed that Dante was still holding back. Dante confessed that he had been keeping a secret from Lulu. Olivia warned him that secrets never worked, so she urged Dante to tell Lulu the truth. Dante explained that it was complicated, but Olivia insisted that it didn't matter. Olivia was certain that Lulu simply wanted a man whom she could trust. Olivia advised Dante to let Lulu into his life, not just his home. Lulu went to ELQ to visit Tracy. Tracy revealed that she had been sorry to hear about Siobhan's passing, so Lulu confessed that she was worried that Lucky might lose control. "Go back to drugs?" Tracy wondered. Lulu nodded as she admitted that she hoped that Lucky would let her help him. Lulu was curious what Tracy would have done if Tracy had known about Luke's situation earlier. "I did know," Tracy confided. Tracy pointed out that Luke was charismatic, and heroic, so Tracy had looked the other way, in regards to his drinking. "Why?" Lulu wondered. Tracy admitted that she had been afraid of losing Luke. Tracy insisted that she loved Luke, but Tracy doubted that she would have done anything different if she could do things over. Tracy explained that she had tried to guide Luke down a better path, but ultimately they were all responsible for their own journey, including Luke, Lucky, and Lulu. "Me?" Lulu asked. Tracy suggested that Lulu had a habit of getting too involved in other people's problems instead of focusing on Lulu's own happiness. Lulu chuckled, "Funny you should mention that." Tracy realized that something had happened with Dante, so Lulu told Tracy about Dante's proposal to live together. Lulu expected a lecture from Tracy, but Tracy surprised her by encouraging Lulu to figure out what was important to Lulu, and then decide whether or not Lulu truly loved Dante. Lulu was stunned that Tracy had practically given Lulu and Dante her blessing. Tracy revealed that she didn't want Lulu to make the same mistakes that Tracy had made. Lulu started to leave, but then stopped to confide that she thought that Luke was missing out by not being with Tracy. However, Lulu realized that the past was the past. "Which always seems to catch up with us," Tracy replied. Later, Lulu bumped into Olivia in Metro Court's lobby. Lulu explained that she was there to visit Maxie, but Olivia suspected that Lulu wanted to talk to Maxie about Dante's offer for Lulu to move in with him. Olivia acknowledged that the key to the loft hadn't been a romantic gift, but Lulu insisted that the gift had been from Dante's heart, so it had meant a lot to Lulu. Olivia was relieved that Lulu had realized that. However, Olivia thought that it was a good idea to let Dante sweat it out for awhile before Lulu agreed to move in with Dante. "You are going to say yes, right?" Olivia asked. Lulu confessed that she hadn't decided because she hadn't been prepared for the question. Olivia blamed Dante's less than romantic way of asking, so she assured Lulu that Dante had planned to make up to Lulu with a special surprise. Lulu reminded Olivia that it was a big step, but Lulu was certain that she would eventually move in with Dante. However, Lulu explained that Lucky had recently lost his wife, so Lulu wanted to focus on making certain that Lucky was okay before she made decisions about her own life. Dante stopped by to check on Lucky after learning that Lucky had taken a few personal days off from work. Lucky explained that Cam was at day camp, and that Elizabeth was at work, so Lucky had decided to spend the day with Aiden. Dante was curious how Lucky was holding up, so Lucky confessed that it had helped being with Aiden. Dante clarified that he was more concerned about Lucky's addiction, since Lucky had been shot up full of some "crazy stuff." Lucky tried to change the subject, but Dante refused to drop the matter. Dante explained that they needed to discuss it because Dante had to tell Lulu about it. "No, you don't," Lucky argued. Lucky insisted that Lulu was always looking for a cause, so Lucky didn't want Lulu becoming obsessed with him. Dante refused to start the next chapter of his life with Lulu with a lie of omission. Lucky had no idea what Dante was talking about, so Dante explained that he had asked Lulu to move in. Dante assured Lucky that Lucky hadn't done anything wrong because Lucky had been a victim. Dante reminded Lucky that Lucky had nothing to hide. "Or do you?" Dante wondered as he noticed Lucky's expression discomfort. Lucky refused to ruin his day with Aiden by continuing the discussion. Dante insisted that they needed to figure things out because Lucky had been pumped full of drugs, which might have compromised Lucky's sobriety. Lucky was curious why Dante cared, but before Dante could respond, Lulu walked in. "Lucky, is it true?" she asked. 8/31 At Elizabeth's house, Lulu was stunned when she overheard Lucky and Dante arguing about Lucky's recent trouble with drugs. She entered the house, demanding to know if it were true. Lucky and Dante's guilty silence made her realize that Lucky had been using drugs, and that that Dante had known about it. Dante explained that he had urged Lucky to tell Lulu. Lulu was furious that Dante had given Lucky the choice, but Lucky insisted that Dante had been respecting Lucky's privacy. Lulu's temper flared because she realized that Lucky had lied to her when she had confronted Lucky about being high following Siobhan's car accident. Dante tried to explain that it hadn't been Lucky's fault, so Lulu sarcastically wondered if someone had held Lucky down, and then had forced the drugs into Lucky. She was shocked when Dante and Lucky admitted that it had happened exactly like that. Lulu refused to believe them; she insisted that drug addicts were accomplished liars, so she demanded proof of Lucky and Dante's claims. Dante explained that Elizabeth had found Lucky shortly after drugs had been forced into Lucky's system. Lulu was livid because she felt betrayed that Elizabeth hadn't told her. Lulu made it clear that she didn't believe Lucky's story about being injected with drugs against his will because she had been down a similar road with Lucky when he had first battled addiction. Lucky was curious why Lulu had no problem giving Luke the benefit of the doubt, even though Luke had killed Jake while driving drunk, but she refused to do the same for Lucky. Lucky admitted that he felt insulted, but he decided to tell Lulu exactly what had happened on the waterfront. Dante backed up Lucky's story, but Lulu ranted about addicts always making excuses. Lucky accused Lulu of not knowing what she was talking about. Lulu suggested that Lucky was deflecting, so Lucky reminded his sister that he had fought hard to be sober, and that he hadn't given in to temptation after Jake had died, so he could use Lulu's support, while he dealt with Siobhan's death. Lulu offered Lucky her condolences, so Lucky continued his story about the night that he'd been pumped full of drugs. Lucky explained that he had stumbled to a church, where Elizabeth had found him. Lucky credited Elizabeth with countering the effects of the drugs, and then taking him to the hospital to see Siobhan. Lulu insisted that Lucky owed it to Siobhan to resign from the case, so she turned to Dante to ask Dante to pull some strings. Dante explained that he couldn't do that, which enraged Lulu. Lulu accused Dante of having changed. According to Lulu, Dante had started to compromise his principals ever since Dante had learned that Sonny was his father. Lulu suggested that it had nearly killed her brother. "Just like it's killing what's between us," Lulu added. Dante was stunned. "So that's what you really think of me?" Dante wondered. Lulu tried to explain herself, but Lucky advised his sister to stop before she said something that she might regret. Dante warned Lucky that that ship had already sailed. Lulu was unapologetic as she claimed that the lines had become blurred for Dante because of Sonny's influence, which had led Dante to keep the truth about Lucky's relapse from her. Dante insisted that he had just been trying to protect Lucky, but Lucky advised Dante that it was pointless to continue to argue with Lulu because she refused to understand. Lucky decided to leave, which prompted Lulu to wonder if Lucky intended to score some more pills. She reminded Lucky that he would be walking out on his son, so Lucky suggested that Aiden might be better off with her, rather than a "druggie" like him. Outside, Lucky pulled the bottle of pills from his pocket, took one, and then walked away. Inside, Dante and Lulu continued to argue about Lucky's addiction until Dante reminded Lulu that she had already broken the promise that she had made in Greece about focusing on their relationship, instead of her family's problems. He pointed out that she hadn't given him an answer about moving in. Lulu confessed that she didn't feel comfortable living with someone who had lied to her to protect others. Dante wanted to talk things out over dinner, but Lulu reminded him that she had to watch Aiden. However, she asked Dante to make certain that he wasn't at the loft when she picked her things up. 9/6 Elizabeth was surprised to see Dante standing on her doorstep instead. Elizabeth explained that she had to go to work soon, so Dante revealed that he was there on police business. Elizabeth was startled when Dante suggested that she had been the last person to see Siobhan alive. Elizabeth argued that the killer had been the last person to see Siobhan alive, but she realized that she was a suspect because of Siobhan's accusations during the weeks leading up to Siobhan's death. Dante assured Elizabeth that he just wanted to get to the bottom of things, so he asked Elizabeth why Siobhan had asked to see her. Elizabeth insisted that she and Siobhan had had a civil conversation about Lucky, and that Siobhan had cleared Elizabeth of pushing Siobhan down the stairs. Elizabeth became nervous when Dante pointed out that Siobhan wasn't around to corroborate Elizabeth's version of events. Dante asked Elizabeth to give him a call if she recalled anything else of importance, and then started to leave, but Elizabeth called out to him before he reached the door. Elizabeth revealed that Siobhan had claimed to know something about the people who "had done what they did to Lucky." Dante was surprised that Siobhan had known something about the drug ring. Elizabeth added that Siobhan had wanted to discuss something important with Lucky, but had refused to confide the details to Elizabeth. Dante thanked Elizabeth, and then opened the door just as Matt was about to knock. At the hospital, Dante entered the conference room to talk to Lucky. Lucky managed to shove the bottle of hydrocodone back into his jacket pocket before Dante spotted the pills. Dante wondered if Lucky were okay, so Lucky revealed that there wouldn't be a funeral service for Siobhan in Port Charles because Siobhan's sister intended to take Siobhan's body to Ireland for burial. Lucky changed the subject by asking if there had been any new developments with the case. Dante admitted that he had questioned Elizabeth, because she had been the last to see Siobhan alive. Dante told Lucky that, prior to her death, Siobhan had been eager to tell Lucky some important news about the drug ring. Lucky realized that Siobhan might have been silenced, so her murder was on his hands. Dante was concerned about Lucky because it appeared that Lucky was on the edge. Lucky confessed that one of the most difficult things about being a recovering addict was that everyone constantly doubted him. Lucky realized that people had a right not to trust him, but he resented it. Dante advised Lucky to quit the case, but Lucky argued that it would be like admitting that he was using again when he wasn't. Dante reminded Lucky that Lucky's wife had just died, so no one would question Lucky taking a leave of absence. Lucky refused to consider it after learning that someone in the drug ring might have murdered Siobhan. Dante feared that continuing the investigation was too big of a risk for Lucky to take. Dante doubted that Lucky wanted to jeopardize his sobriety after working hard to get clean. Dante confessed that he hoped that Lucky had the strength not to fall, and then left. 9/7 At the hospital, Dante called the loft in the hopes of catching Lulu there. The answering machine picked up, but Dante suspected that Lulu was listening. He asked Lulu to pick up the phone, but when the answering machine continued to record, Dante decided to tell Lulu what he was feeling. He admitted that he didn't want to arrive home to discover that her things had been cleared out of the bathroom, or that she had moved out. Dante insisted that Lulu was everything to him, so if she were to leave him then his life would be empty. Dante reiterated that he didn't want to lose her, and then ended the call. Moments later, Alexis walked up to ask if Dante had seen Sonny, but Dante explained that he didn't plan to unless it was to arrest his father. Alexis revealed that something was wrong with Kristina, so they needed to find Sonny. Dante advised Alexis to discuss it with Kristina first because Dante was certain that Kristina wouldn't want Sonny around. Alexis explained that Sonny was Kristina's father, so Sonny should be told, or there would be hell to pay. After Alexis walked away, Dante called someone to ask for a favor. At the loft, Lulu stopped packing her things long enough to hear what Dante had to say, as he left a message. She reached for the phone just as Dante ended the call. Moments later, Maxie arrived at the loft, carrying bags filled with various samples for Sam's wedding. Lulu was annoyed that Maxie had gone shopping instead of helping Lulu to pack. Maxie was unrepentant as she offered to show Lulu the stunning engagement ring that Jason had bought for Sam, but Lulu declined. Maxie accused Lulu of being determined to be miserable "for no good reason." Lulu explained that she couldn't trust Dante because of his pattern of keeping secrets from her. Maxie confessed that she didn't know many guys who would follow their girlfriend halfway around the world to chase after a "crazy runaway father." Maxie wondered if perhaps Luke were at the root of Lulu's decision to end things with Dante; she suspected it was a way for Lulu to make her own rules. Lulu denied it, but Maxie didn't believe Lulu. Lulu bristled when Maxie started unpacking Lulu's suitcase. Maxie explained that Lulu and Dante would eventually reconcile, so it was pointless for Lulu to pack as if she were leaving for good. Lulu tried to snatch a dress out of Maxie's hand, but Maxie held on firmly. A brief struggle ensued between the friends, until the dress ripped in two. "You happy?" Maxie wondered. Lulu admitted that she was miserable. Maxie's irritation immediately melted away; she promised to pay Lulu for the dress, but she insisted that it was a mistake for Lulu to end things with Dante. Maxie grumbled that she had sacrificed an all-expense paid trip to the French countryside with Matt, so that Lulu and Dante could have a romantic getaway, and reconnect. Maxie resented that Lulu had repaid Maxie by taking off for Florida, where Lulu had picked up some "tacky" clothing. Maxie held up a skirt as an example of Lulu's poor choices. Lulu defended her purchase by informing Maxie that the colorful skirt had been purchased at a vintage store in Jacksonville. Maxie patiently explained that things went out of style for a reason. Lulu scooped up her clothes, and then suggested that Maxie find Spinelli to focus on him. Lulu suspected that Maxie was determined to fix Lulu because Maxie hadn't been able to help Spinelli. Maxie admitted that she had hoped to snap Spinelli out of his gumshoe fantasy world by taking him to Georgie's grave, but he had continued to fixate on the "weirdest things." Maxie revealed that she had also thought that seeing Jason would help Spinelli, but Spinelli had disappeared after the visit. Lulu was curious if there were trouble in paradise because she had noticed that Maxie hadn't mentioned Matt's name. Maxie explained that she and Matt were focused on their careers, so there were times that several days would pass when they didn't speak to each other. Maxie assured Lulu that everything was fine with Matt, but Lulu didn't believe her. Lulu suggested that it sounded like a nice way of dressing up the fact that Maxie and Matt spent very little time together. Maxie argued that her relationship with Matt was healthy and mature; they weren't like Lulu who refused to work through her problems with Dante. Lulu insisted that she had tried, to no avail. Maxie suspected that Dante wasn't damaged enough for Lulu. Maxie reminded Lulu that there were plenty of damaged people in Lulu's life, so Lulu shouldn't throw away the ones who weren't. Moments later, Dante entered the loft with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. Maxie smiled as she pointed out that Dante clearly wanted to fix things. After Maxie left, Dante revealed that he had made reservations for dinner at a French restaurant, but Lulu claimed that she wasn't hungry. Dante suggested that they talk, so Lulu confessed that she had resented his lack of honesty about Lucky. Dante reminded her why he hadn't told her about Lucky's brush with drugs, but he assured Lulu that he would do whatever it took to make their relationship work. Lulu demanded to know if Dante would do it again. "Yeah, I would, given the circumstances," Dante admitted after several tense moments. Lulu was furious that he had essentially told her that he'd lie to her again. Dante explained that he was a cop, so there would be times when he couldn't discuss things with her. Lulu argued that it was different if it involved her brother, and Lucky's addiction. Dante insisted that it was Lucky's secret to share, but Lulu claimed that Dante had used the same argument regarding Brenda's child. Lulu felt that she couldn't trust Dante, so he assured her that he was honest about how he felt about her. Dante declared his love, and then kissed her, but Lulu pulled away. "I can't do this," she told him, and then returned to packing. A short time later, Dante watched helplessly as Lulu walked out. In the hallway, Lulu stared at the closed door as a tear slid down her cheek. 9/12 Lulu met with Olivia on the docks. Olivia wanted to know what had happened between Lulu and Dante. Lulu said that they had broken up because Lulu could not trust Dante to be honest with her. Olivia remarked that perhaps Lulu's expectations were too high. Olivia suggested that Lulu weigh the good with the bad. Olivia said that Dante had told Olivia that it was killing him to keep a secret from Lulu, but Dante felt he had to. Lulu said that Dante would choose his job over her. Olivia said that Dante was loyal and would never leave Lulu. Lulu received a call from Maxie, who begged Lulu to go to Crimson and handle some business for her. Lulu reluctantly agreed and left Olivia on the docks. As soon as Lulu entered the Crimson offices, Kate was all over her. Lulu said she was filling in for Maxie, and if Kate did not like it, Lulu would leave. Kate told Lulu she was not going anywhere until she dealt with the man in her office. The man was revealed to be a very disoriented Spinelli. Lulu determined that the Jackal P.I. character was gone with only vague memories remaining in Spinelli's dazed brain. When Lulu told Spinelli that he had pulled a gun on Anthony Zacchara, Spinelli said that Jackal P.I. was a better man than Spinelli. Lulu said that Jackal P.I. was a part of Spinelli, and all the good traits of Jackal P.I. were good traits of Spinelli's as well. Spinelli gazed out the window at the stars and was convinced that they meant something to him. He was trying to puzzle it out when Lulu approached and wanted to take him home. Kate intervened and told Lulu that Kate had work for her to do. Lulu stood up to Kate and said she did not work for Kate and that she would take care of Spinelli first. Kate was impressed and told Lulu that she had grown a spine. Kate added that Lulu's job was waiting when she wanted it back. Lulu agreed to phone Federico before she left with Spinelli. As Lulu made the call, Spinelli got on the elevator and left by himself. 9/13 Lulu went to the waterfront to look for Spinelli. She called out for him, but he didn't reply. As Lulu stood on the docks, she recalled going to the opera with Dante, and being moved to tears, so she decided to go to ELQ to talk to Tracy. At ELQ, Lulu announced that Lucky had relapsed because of a case that Lucky had been working. Lulu then revealed that Dante had been covering for Lucky. Tracy was sad to learn about Lucky's troubles, but she warned Lulu not to expect a pity party because Tracy was married to Luke, who was the master of lies and deceit. Lulu insisted that Dante was quickly catching up with Luke, but Tracy argued that Dante was nothing like Luke. Tracy assured Lulu that she had meant that in the nicest way possible. Lulu explained that Dante had looked Lulu in the eye, and then lied to her. According to Lulu, Dante was more like Luke than Lulu wanted to admit. Lulu revealed that she had decided not to move in with Dante because of Dante's deception, and that Olivia had suggested that Lulu teach Dante a lesson by making him wait. Tracy claimed that Olivia was a fool because Olivia should have stood by her son, and supported him. Lulu confessed that she was surprised by Tracy's attitude because she had been under the impression that Tracy hadn't liked Dante. Tracy explained that she had been wrong about Dante because Dante had proven to be steadfast and true. Lulu was curious what part of "Dante lied" Tracy hadn't understood. Tracy argued that Dante had been guilty of trying to protect Lucky, but she had no doubt that Dante had suffered. Lulu accused Tracy of whitewashing the situation, but Tracy insisted the Luke had never suffered guilt over the lies that he had told. Lulu was startled when Tracy suddenly suggested that Lulu get over herself. Tracy warned Lulu that Lulu was walking away from a good, sober, and decent guy. Lulu couldn't believe that Tracy expected her to stay with a guy who was comfortable hiding things from her, but Tracy was curious if Dante had cheated on Lulu, stolen, or gambled away Lulu's life savings. "No," Lulu replied. Tracy explained that Dante had nobly protected Lulu's brother, but Lulu insisted that Dante had trouble being honest with her, and that he had admitted that he would do it again if he were faced with the same situation. Lulu claimed that she needed honesty in a relationship, so Tracy wondered where Lulu had gotten such an "infantilized" idea of relationships. According to Tracy, people who were madly in love sometimes fought about silly things, things that were about unresolved issues. "Like honesty?" Lulu sarcastically asked. Tracy clarified that couples argued about things like self-worth, and fear of abandonment and then moved on when it was over. Lulu suggested that some people left because the relationship was too broken. Tracy suggested that the bottom line was that a rich and rewarding relationship required work, which meant that each person forgave when it was the last thing that they wanted to do, and didn't give up. Lulu feared that she might not be able to do that, so Tracy warned Lulu that Lulu would end up alone like Tracy. Tracy explained that Lulu could focus on her work, and "stuff," but she would be left with nothing if it all went away. Dante was startled to find Lucky hiding out in the bathroom. Dante's concern turned to anger when he spotted the bottle of pills on Lucky's sink. "What the hell is this?" Dante demanded. Lucky begged Dante to stop him from making a drug buy, and then admitted that he had been taking hydrocodone. Dante was furious because he had covered for Lucky. Lucky explained that he had been shot up with drugs on the waterfront, but then he had succumbed to the lure of the pills. However, Lucky clarified that he had only taken a few hydrocodone tablets; Lucky insisted that he had flushed the rest of the pills. Dante didn't understand how Lucky could have jeopardized his sobriety like that, but Lucky explained that addicts never really recovered, so they were never safe from a relapse. Dante handed his cell phone to Lucky and then ordered Lucky to call a sponsor or attend a meeting. Lucky refused, but Dante insisted that Lucky couldn't stay in the bathroom until the urge to take drugs had faded. Lucky admitted that he might be tempted to score some drugs on the way to the meeting, so Dante decided to stay with Lucky. Dante suggested that they talk about where Lucky liked to go camping, but Lucky couldn't think clearly, so Dante decided that it might help Lucky to imagine sitting in a boat, and casting out a fishing line. Lucky explained that he preferred to wade in the water, rather than fish from a boat. Lucky then changed the subject by wondering if Dante and Lulu had worked things out. Dante revealed that Lulu had moved out; he realized that Lulu had been right to be concerned about Lucky. Lucky reminded Dante that he had assured Dante that the drugs wouldn't be a problem, so Dante wasn't to blame for the relapse. Dante regretted that he hadn't taken Lucky off of the investigation, but Lucky revealed that addicts were experts at deception. Lucky admitted that it had been a dream case for him because finding a warehouse full of drugs was like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Dante vowed that he wouldn't keep any more secrets from Lulu. Lucky realized that Dante had to do what was necessary. Lucky admitted that he should never have asked Dante to keep Lulu in the dark about what had happened. Lucky decided to check his voicemail, so Dante and Lucky listened to Elizabeth's frantic messages. Lucky started to rush out of the door to find Elizabeth, but Dante insisted that Lucky wasn't in any condition to search for her. Lucky argued that he had failed Jake and Siobhan, so he refused to fail Elizabeth. Lucky decided to call Elizabeth, but she didn't answer her cell phone. Dante wanted to call the police, but Lucky asked Dante not to. Lucky explained that he wasn't asking Dante to cover for him because Lucky intended to tell Mac everything; however Lucky needed to find Elizabeth first because she was in trouble. Lucky suddenly recalled that he had recognized one of the men who had held him down while J.T. had pumped drugs into Lucky's system. Lucky realized that the man had worked at Luzetta's Bakery, and that Siobhan's clue had been the first two letters of Luzetta's, and a partial "Z." Lucky and Dante realized that Elizabeth had overheard something that had led her to Luzetta's, so they headed to the bakery to investigate. Lucky and Dante arrived at the alley, but there wasn't any sign of Elizabeth. They were startled when Spinelli suddenly appeared. Spinelli spotted Sam's engagement ring on the ground, so he picked it up and then revealed that Maxie had been there. Lulu entered Lucky's apartment, looking for her brother. She was stunned when she spotted the empty bottle of hydrocodone on the sink. 9/14 Dante arrived to question Anthony about Anthony's whereabouts earlier that evening. Anthony claimed that he had been with Tracy. Dante assured the elder Zacchara that he would verify the alibi; however, Dante was curious if Anthony knew anything about Luzetta's Bakery, and a man named Joey Bruzetta. Anthony pretended to think about it for a moment, and then claimed that the name didn't sound familiar. Johnny wondered if Dante were accusing Anthony of a crime, so Dante assured Johnny that he had just been asking questions. Johnny ordered Dante to stop harassing Anthony, and instead arrest Sonny for pistol-whipping Johnny, and then dangling him over the balcony. Dante appeared skeptical, but Johnny pointed to the bullet hole in the ceiling and then advised Dante to verify the story with Olivia. Dante was curious why his mother would be at Johnny's penthouse, so Johnny suggested that perhaps Olivia had realized that Sonny was unstable. Dante told Johnny to file a complaint at the police station, and then resumed questioning Anthony. Anthony remained tight-lipped, so Dante warned Anthony not to leave town, and then headed for the door. At the door, Dante stopped to ask what had happened to Anthony's bandaged hand. Anthony claimed that he had hurt himself while pruning flowers. Dante recalled that Anthony had been at the hospital on August 22nd, to have the injury treated, so the Zaccharas were curious what Dante was getting at. Dante assured them that it was probably nothing, but Siobhan Spencer had died on the same night. At the apartment, Lucky retrieved his lockbox, opened it, and then pulled out a gun. Lulu slowly entered the living room, and then asked if Lucky should be handling a gun. Lucky wondered what Lulu was doing there, so Lulu explained that she had been worried about Lucky. Lucky wasn't in the mood to indulge her with a repetitive argument that went nowhere. He insisted that he didn't have the time, so Lulu held up the empty bottle of pills that she had found in his bathroom, and then demanded to know if he'd had time for the pills. Lucky held out his hand as he asked her to give him back the bottle. Lulu held them out of reach as she accused Lucky of taking the pills. Lucky sarcastically admitted that he had taken every single one of them, but Lulu wasn't satisfied. She was adamant that he tell her what was going on. The anger seeped out of Lucky as he assured her that he had disposed of the pills. However, he insisted that he was on the clock, so she had to leave. Lulu refused to budge until she had some answers. Lucky realized that she didn't want to leave because she didn't trust him, but Lulu argued that he was the one who didn't trust her. Lulu insisted that Lucky should have told her that he had been struggling with the temptation of pills, so that she could have stopped him from taking the next step. Lucky explained that the drugs had been forced into his system, so he hadn't taken them willingly. However, he conceded that the second time, he had taken a pill to prove himself to the drug dealer, and avoid jeopardizing the investigation. "And then?" Lulu asked. Lucky confessed that he had popped a few more pills to numb himself from the pain of losing Siobhan and Jake. Lulu assured Lucky that she wouldn't have judged him if he had talked to her about it because she only wanted to help him. Lucky appreciated it, but he explained that addicts lied, so he wouldn't have told her the truth because he had wanted to take the pills. Lulu didn't understand how Dante could have been so oblivious to Lucky's situation, but Lucky revealed that Dante had done all that he could to help Lucky. Lulu was furious because Dante had kept quiet about something that could have killed Lucky; she had no idea how to forgive Dante for that. Lucky argued that Dante was not a bad guy because he had been protecting the case, Lucky, and Lulu. Lulu insisted that she didn't want to be protected with lies, so she couldn't be with a man who kept the truth from her. Lucky assured Lulu that Dante had planned to tell her everything, but Lulu argued that Dante hadn't gotten around to it. Lucky explained that Dante was a good guy, probably the best that she would ever find, so he urged his sister not to throw away what she had with Dante. Lucky confessed that he didn't want to bear the responsibility of one more bad thing happening. Lulu was eager to help Lucky, but Lucky revealed that she couldn't because addiction was about the addict making choices; Lulu couldn't make those choices for him. Lulu claimed that it was just an excuse for him to push people away, just as Luke had done. Lucky suggested that perhaps he was more like their father than Lucky had thought. Lulu admitted that at least Lucky had taken responsibility for his mistakes. Lucky assured Lulu that he loved her, and that she had good intentions; it meant more to him than he could say. "Thank you," Lulu replied. However, Lulu wanted to help in some way, so she offered to cook for Lucky. Lucky confided that he wasn't feeling well. Lulu was curious if the worst of the withdrawal symptoms were over, but Lucky confessed that he didn't know. However, he promised her that he would not backslide. Moments later, Sly called Lucky with an update. At the same time, someone knocked on the door, so Lulu decided to answer it. It was Dante. Lulu invited Dante in and then excused herself. Lucky wrapped up his phone call and then asked if Dante had any news about Elizabeth or Maxie. Dante shook his head, so Lucky revealed that Sly had discovered that Joey Bruzetta had been in Pentonville until recently, and that he had shared a cell with one of the Trujillos. Dante was curious where Spinelli was. Lucky seemed confused because he had been under the impression that Spinelli had been with Dante. Neither man appeared concerned about Spinelli, so Lucky decided to take the empty bottle of pills to the police station, to log it in as evidence. Lulu returned to the living room just as Lucky was hit by a dizzy spell. However, Lucky quickly recovered, so he promised to return shortly. At the door, Lucky wished them luck, and then left. Dante assured Lulu that he had planned to tell her about Lucky. Lulu explained that Lucky had pleaded Dante's case, so she believed Dante. Dante wondered if it had made a difference. Lulu realized that Dante was a cop, so he had to do what whatever was necessary to protect his case, but it didn't mean that she had to accept it. Lulu knew that it would always be like that, which would create distance between them. Dante insisted that they could work through that because he loved her. Lulu revealed that she loved him too, which was why she was so hurt. She asked Dante to take care of Lucky, because it seemed that he could do more for her brother than she could, and then left. 9/16 Lucky called Dante from the alley behind Luzetta's Bakery and updated him on the situation. Dante reported that there had been no sign of Maxie or Elizabeth. Lucky figured that Siobhan had tried to leave behind a clue when she'd written "LU" on her pillowcase with lipstick before she died. Lucky knew that Maxie would never have accidentally left behind the engagement ring in the alley. That, along with Elizabeth's phone found in the dumpster led both men to believe the women had been abducted. Lulu entered the Haunted Star and found Ethan out cold on the floor. Ethan regained consciousness and explained that one of his marks had beaten him up. Lulu told Ethan that he was throwing away his life, just like their father had. Behind a curtain, Luke listened in on their conversation. Ethan defended Luke and said that he and his dad were cut from the same cloth. Lulu warned her brother not to mess with dangerous women like Luke had with Helena Cassadine. Lulu admitted that she'd grown up with all of the Luke and Laura stories and said that those years had obviously been the best times of Luke's life. She expressed guilt for her illness having been the reason her dad had been tied down. Lulu acknowledged that her plan to own the casino and run it together with her family as one, big, happy unit had been a farce. Ethan replied that her desire for their family to be closer-knit was anything but pathetic. Regarding Luke, she retorted, "He made his choice, and it wasn't us." Lulu fretted over Lucky having fallen off the wagon. Luke's ears perked up when he heard that his son was using drugs again. Ethan pointed out that losing a child and a spouse within months of each other might drive anyone to drug use. Lulu bitterly stated that they were all damaged goods, the legacy Luke had left behind. Lulu proposed that she could sell the Haunted Star, prompting Ethan to suggest that he manage the business if she'd maintain ownership. Lulu saw right through his proposal, surmising her brother would pay off the gaming commission to continue illegal activities. She declined the offer. Lulu received a call from Kate, who demanded that Lulu go to Crimson and attend a fitting in Maxie's absence. Lulu, needing the money, left the casino, followed by Ethan. After Lulu got to Crimson, Kate cynically mocked the upcoming "blushing bride" magazine cover, noting that fairytale endings were a travesty. Olivia balked over the magazine's usual covers that showed women in clothing that was torturous. Lulu commented that fashion was about form over function and that a wedding issue would be a nice change of pace. "You don't need a husband to feel complete," Kate snapped. Later, Dante arrived, looking for his mother. He chastised her for having been involved in Sonny and Johnny's confrontation the night before. Olivia deflected Dante's concern by telling him he needed to fight for Lulu and not just let the woman he loved walk out of his life. Outside the office, Sam thanked Lulu for her help and left. As Lulu looked longingly at the wedding dress Sam had chosen, Dante approached. Both were caught off-guard. Dante entered Sonny's office, annoyed that he'd been summoned to see his father. Sonny made the accusation that Johnny had burned down one of the Corinthos warehouses and asked Dante to investigate. Sonny warned that it was a sign of things to transpire should there be no response by the Corinthos organization. He cautioned that Olivia, Dante, and his siblings could be in danger. Dante refused to compromise his integrity to help Sonny get revenge. Dante reminded Sonny that, just because he was Sonny's progeny, didn't mean he was as malleable as Michael. Sonny promised that Michael was not in "the business" but working legitimately at the warehouse. Dante chided Sonny for having threatened Johnny the previous night. Sonny blew it off and said that Olivia had overreacted. As he walked out the door, Dante made it clear that, should any harm befall Olivia, he would make retribution against Sonny. |
