Dante & Lulu #11 January 16 - June 27, 2012: 8 Hour Original Edit DVD #11A At the police station, Lulu and Dante ate breakfast at Dante's desk. Lulu couldn't believe that she had been nervous about marrying him, because she loved having breakfast with him. She then confided that she might have a new job, but she didn't want to tell him about it until after she was certain that things would work out. Their conversation then drifted to Tracy. Dante suggested that Tracy's decision to marry Anthony was an attempt to make Luke jealous. Lulu didn't agree. Lulu admitted that she was worried about Tracy, because Tracy hadn't returned any of Lulu's calls. Dante suspected that Tracy was simply embarrassed, because Tracy had decided to marry Anthony. Lulu insisted that Tracy loved Luke; however, Lulu realized that she was once again becoming embroiled in her family's problems. Dante assured Lulu that it was okay to be worried about Tracy, because Tracy loved Lulu. Lulu nodded, and then explained that Tracy wasn't the type to ask for help. However, Lulu was worried about Tracy. Lulu suspected that Anthony was holding something over Tracy's head, which Tracy was afraid to admit. Dante offered to look into it, but Lulu wanted to wait until Tracy called. Lulu suggested that they could explore their options, if they didn't hear from Tracy soon. After Lulu left, Delores walked up. Dante offered her a bagel, but Delores declined, because she wanted to review the file on the attacks on the dancers. Delores explained that she had an idea on how to nail "the bastard." Dante reminded her that they had just released their only suspect, so Delores explained that she wanted a psychiatrist to profile the perpetrator. Dante seemed skeptical, but Delores insisted that it might provide them with insight that could lead them to the attacker. Dante reluctantly agreed to give it a try, so he invited her to set it up. Delores smiled as she explained that she already had. Moments later, Ewen arrived. "How can I help?" Ewen asked. After Ewen glanced over the file, he explained that the perpetrator's attacks were escalating, which indicated that the attacker was getting angrier. Ewen suggested that perhaps it was because the attacker wasn't getting the attention that he desired. Ewen explained that people like the perpetrator wanted credit for outsmarting the police, and getting away with crimes, so the attacker was challenging the police. After Ewen left, Delores was curious what Dante thought about what Ewen had said. Dante accused Ewen of sounding like a typical "shrink." Lulu appeared at the bottom of the steps. Shawn was curious if Lulu were the new dog walker. Lulu confirmed that she was, and then apologized for Wilson escaping. She quickly put Wilson on the leash, and then left. When Lulu returned with Wilson, she was certain that animals were her thing, but then sneezed. Later, Lulu arrived at the police station. She continued to sneeze as she explained to Dante that she had decided to pursue a career in the pet care industry. Dante noticed that Lulu had hives on her neck, prompting Lulu to realize that she was allergic to animals. Disappointed, Lulu called her new employer to resign, because it was clear that she was allergic to her new job. 1/19 Dante arrived home with flowers, but Lulu was asleep in bed. She woke up when she heard Dante moving around, so she groggily asked if he had gone to work. Dante explained that he was on break, so he had decided to drop off some fresh flowers for her. Lulu smiled, and then confessed that she had gotten off to a slow start. She was frustrated, because she had no idea how to find the right career for herself. Dante assured her that there wasn't a rush, because he didn't want Lulu to make any compromises. Dante noticed that Lulu's rash on her neck had gone away. Lulu credited the oatmeal bath that Dante had treated her to the night before. Dante smiled, and then kissed his wife. They fell to the bed, and then made love. Afterwards, Dante assured Lulu that he was certain that she would find something that would interest her, but he urged her to take her time. Lulu snuggled up to Dante, and then changed the subject. Lulu was curious if there were any new leads on the man who had attacked the dancers. Dante revealed that they had questioned someone, but the person had been ruled out as a suspect. Lulu was confident that the police would find the right man soon. Dante hoped so, because he feared that the man was not done. Later, Lulu and Dante got dressed. Lulu pointed out that if she found a job, Dante might not be able to have afternoon trysts with her. Dante jokingly suggested that it was incentive for him to sabotage her attempts to find a new career. After Dante left for work, Lulu grabbed a bottle of wine, and then opened her laptop to take an online test that promised to help her find the career of her dreams. Lulu sipped the wine, while she took the test. Later, the results of the tests revealed that she was best suited for a career in sales. Lulu liked the idea of that, until a notice popped up offering her the opportunity to sell the site's product from her home. Frustrated that it had been a scam, Lulu closed the laptop, and then went to refill her glass, only to discover that she had emptied the bottle. At the police station, Dante and Mac discussed the investigation into the attacks on the dancers. Dante was certain that he was missing a crucial clue, but he had no idea what it was. Mac was intrigued when Dante revealed that he and Delores had sought advice from a psychiatrist, who had given them a preliminary profile on the suspect. Dante admitted that he wasn't completely convinced the profiling would help, but he agreed with the doctor's assessment that the attacks were escalating in violence, so the next victim might not survive. 1/24 At the Metro Court Restaurant, Kate spotted Lulu working on a laptop. Lulu explained that she was trying to find a new career, so Kate offered Lulu's old job back. Lulu declined, because she wasn't interested in fashion. Moments later, Olivia greeted her daughter-in-law. Olivia was curious if Lulu and Dante had an argument when she noticed that Lulu was drinking a glass of wine. Lulu assured Olivia that everything was fine, and then explained that Carly had recommended the wine. Lulu quickly changed the subject by talking about her desire to find a new career path. Olivia suggested that Lulu sell the Haunted Star, but Lulu wasn't interested, because it was a place for Luke to return to. Olivia revealed that Luke was back in Port Charles, and staying at the hotel, compliments of Carly. Lulu admitted that she had known that Luke was in town, but not that he was staying at the hotel. Olivia raised an eyebrow when Lulu picked up the glass of wine to take a sip. Lulu became defensive as she asked if Olivia had ever had a glass of wine at lunch. Olivia agreed to butt out, but it was clear that she remained concerned about Lulu. Lulu promised her mother-in-law that she was fine, and then resumed her job search on the computer. Olivia wished Lulu luck, and then confessed that she'd had a glass of wine with lunch, but never when she was alone. After Olivia left, Sonny approached Lulu's table, and then sat down. Lulu made it clear that she didn't want to discuss Dante with Sonny, but Sonny surprised Lulu by revealing that he wanted to know where Kate liked to stay when she went to San Francisco. Lulu told him the name of the hotel, and the suite number that Kate always stayed in. Sonny thanked Lulu, and then admitted that he had never seen Dante happier, so he appreciated Lulu's influence on Dante. After Sonny left, Lulu took a sip of her wine. 1/25 At the police station, Michael demanded to know if there had been any new developments in the investigation on the attacks on the dancers. Dante and Delores explained that they didn't have any new suspects. Michael wasn't surprised, since they had let the only suspect go. Dante patiently explained that they had to follow the rules; they hadn't had anything that had linked Donofrio to the attacks. Delores added that yelling at the dancers hadn't made Donofrio guilty of assaulting them. Michael wasn't satisfied; he insisted that they needed someone more motivated, who wasn't worried about following rules. Dante and Delores tried to get Michael to calm down, but Michael feared that another dancer would be hurt if the police didn't act. Dante accused Michael of being obsessed with the case, and then reminded his brother that Abby hadn't been attacked. Dante suggested that Michael stay with Dante and Lulu for a while, but Michael claimed that he had other plans. Dante promised Michael that he would catch the man responsible for the assaults, but Ronnie stirred things up by arguing that the suspect had been caught, and then released. Delores insisted that Donofrio had an alibi for two of the attacks, but Ronnie scoffed at the suggestion that a couple of phone calls to an Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, from a phone booth, had been sufficient proof of innocence. Ronnie accused Dante and Delores of being more concerned about Donofrio's rights than catching the guy responsible to for assaulting the dancers. Dante cautioned Ronnie to be careful with the accusations in front of Michael, but Michael had already stormed out. Ronnie was unapologetic, but Dante explained that it didn't help when Ronnie spouted off about letting go of a suspect who might not have committed the crimes. Ronnie claimed that he simply called it as he saw it, and then began to tear into Delores. Olivia entered the squad room as Dante ordered Ronnie to stop treating Delores as if she were the hired help. Ronnie's tone was filled with innuendo as he suggested that Olivia should be proud of how her son defended women, including Delores. Annoyed, Delores dragged Ronnie away. Olivia noticed that Delores wore the same type of perfume as Lulu. Dante admitted that he had realized that the first time that he had met Delores, which didn't sit well with Olivia. She explained that she was there to find out what Dante and Lulu had argued about. Dante had no idea what Olivia was talking about, so Olivia explained that she had seen Lulu drinking wine at the Metro Court Restaurant. Dante reminded his mother that Lulu was an adult, so she was free to have a glass of wine with lunch, while she tried to figure out what to do with her life. Olivia advised her son not to blow the incident off, but Dante suggested that Olivia focus on her own life. Dante asked Olivia if she had talked to Steve, to illustrate his point. Olivia quickly agreed to mind her own business, and then left. At the Metro Court Restaurant, Lulu spotted Tracy, so she invited Tracy to join her for a glass of wine. Tracy sat down, as Lulu began to pepper Tracy with questions about Tracy's wedding to Anthony. Tracy revealed that Luke had shown up, but he hadn't stopped the wedding. Lulu couldn't understand why Tracy had married Anthony, so Tracy explained that it had been a stalling tactic. Lulu realized that Anthony had blackmailed Tracy into marrying him, but Lulu thought that marrying Anthony had been a little too extreme. A short time later, Lulu was surprised to see Dante enter the restaurant. Dante explained that Olivia had stopped by the station. Lulu realized that Olivia had been concerned about Lulu having a glass of wine with lunch. Dante assured Lulu that she didn't owe him any explanations, and then wondered if she had seen Michael. Dante revealed that Michael was in a volatile mood, so he was concerned that Michael might get himself into trouble. Lulu urged Dante to find his brother, so Dante kissed his wife goodbye, and then left. Afterwards, Tracy wondered why they had been discussing Lulu's intake of wine. On the waterfront, Dante spotted Michael crouched over a body in an alley. Michael explained that the man on the ground was Chuck Donofrio. Dante shoved Michael out of the way, and then checked on the victim. Dante realized that Chuck Donofrio had been shot in the chest. Michael clutched a gun in his hand as he looked down at Chuck's body. 1/26 In the waterfront alley, Michael denied that he had killed Chuck Donofrio, but Dante pointed out that it was difficult to believe Michael when Michael had been making threats against Donofrio at the police station, and was holding a gun. Michael insisted that he had no idea who had killed Donofrio, because Donofrio had been dead when Michael had entered the alley. Dante decided that Michael needed to get far away from the crime scene before the police arrived, because Michael would be the prime suspect, and Dante refused to let Michael go back to Pentonville. As the police sirens closed in, Michael left. Meanwhile, Jason had been lurking nearby, eavesdropping. Moments later, Ronnie and Delores arrived on the scene, with guns drawn. They holstered their weapons when they realized that Dante was alone, and that Chuck Donofrio was dead. Ronnie suggested that justice had been served when he determined that Donofrio had died of a single gunshot to the chest. Delores wondered if there had been any witnesses, but Dante insisted that he hadn't seen anyone when he had arrived. Ronnie realized that Donofrio appeared to have died during a robbery, because Donofrio's wallet and watch were missing. Ronnie was certain that the dancers at Vaughn's would be happy to learn that the man who had assaulted their friends had been killed. Delores reminded Ronnie that there hadn't been any proof that Donofrio had been their man, but Ronnie argued that Donofrio had been an abusive pig with a long rap sheet. Delores remained unconvinced, but Ronnie was satisfied that Donofrio had been guilty of the attacks. Ronnie decided to return to the station to see if he could figure out who might have killed Donofrio. After the coroner took the body away, Dante wondered if Delores believed that a mugger had killed Donofrio. Delores thought that it was a bit too convenient, so the real attacker was still out there. Dante agreed, so he was curious how they should go about finding the man. 1/27 At nearly noon, Maxie woke Lulu up. She was worried about the state Lulu was in. Maxie tried to persuade Lulu to go back to work at Crimson, but Lulu wouldn't hear of it. Maxie pointed out that Lulu was depressed. Lulu deflected Maxie's attention by getting Maxie to talk about herself. Maxie acknowledged that Spinelli had moved in with her. Maxie complained that Elizabeth had been throwing herself at Matt, and Lulu realized that Maxie had asked Spinelli to move in to make Matt jealous. Lulu warned her friend that she was playing with fire and asked her not to hurt Spinelli. Lulu poured herself a glass of wine, which worried Maxie. While Lulu explained that not everyone in her family had substance abuse issues, Maxie rummaged through Lulu's garbage and found several empty bottles of wine. 1/30 On the Haunted Star, Lulu confronted Luke. She threw a glass of wine and broke the glass. She told Luke that it was not her first glass of the day. She said that she had had the first glass for breakfast that morning. Lulu admitted that she had drunk several glasses of wine for lunch the previous day. Luke said it was nobody's business but Lulu's. Lulu asked how it felt for Luke to see all his children and family except for her. She asked if it had occurred to him to congratulate Lulu on her marriage to Dante. Lulu told Luke that everyone thought she was turning into a lush. She said that Olivia had confronted her at lunch the previous day and that even Tracy had mentioned it to Lulu. Lulu said that the worst thing was when Maxie had showed up at the loft earlier and pulled several empty bottles from Lulu's trash and pointed it out. Lulu said it sucked, and she realized that she was being treated the same way she and other members of the family had treated Luke. Luke told Lulu that there was a big difference between having a couple of glasses of pinot and having a lifelong relationship with John Barleycorn. Lulu told Luke not to make it about him. Lulu said it was about her, not Luke's pointless misery. Luke said he had knocked around for months trying to figure things out. Luke said that he was back and sober. Luke told Lulu that he had been thinking about her. Luke said that despite his absence in Lulu's life, he loved her. Lulu was overcome with emotion. Lulu said that she had been determined to get Luke back to Port Charles. She said that she had made that goal more important than anything else in her life, including the man that she loved. Lulu said that once she had given up that goal, she had not known what to do. Lulu said she had started drinking so that she did not have to take a look at herself. Luke said that he had gone to see the other members of the family and not Lulu because he cared about her and was afraid to hurt her. Luke said that he feared that Lulu needed something from him that he could not deliver. Luke said that he had not been able to give Lulu's mother, Laura, what she needed, and he was afraid that he would fail and damage Lulu as well. Luke said that like Laura, Lulu held onto hope beyond reason. Lulu said that she was not her mother. Lulu said that she had a lot of Luke in her also. Lulu said that she knew that the world was a harsh place and that she did not trust easily. Lulu cut her finger on a piece of broken glass and Luke rushed to her aid. She started crying and Luke held her. Lulu said that she had once known who she was. Lulu said that she had a man who loved her, and she did not know why she felt so lost. As Luke comforted Lulu, she told him that he was her father, that she loved him, and he should not stay away from her. Luke said that all he ever wanted for Lulu was for her to have the life she wanted. Luke said he was not always kind. Lulu said that she was okay with brutal honesty because she knew where she stood, and she could always count on him to be himself. Lulu did comment that Luke was better with Tracy. Luke said that Tracy was happy with Anthony, but Lulu said that Tracy had been blackmailed into marriage. Lulu and Luke each said that all they wanted was for the other to be happy. Lulu said that she loved being married and that she loved Dante. She said that she wanted something that was entirely hers. Luke said that it took a lifetime to find out what that was and then everything changed. Lulu said that she wanted to be happy being a work in progress and that she wanted to be happy with her life. Luke said that finding happiness was a long and bumpy ride, but if Lulu would fire up the engine, Luke would take the ride with her. 1/31 In the squad room, Dante and Delores discussed the fire on the King Street pier. Delores revealed that it appeared to be arson, prompting Ronnie to suggest that Sonny might have been responsible. Moments later, Johnny entered the squad room. Dante wondered what Johnny knew about the fire, so Johnny claimed that he only knew what he had read in the newspaper. Dante was aware that Johnny had intended to buy the pier, but Sonny had beaten Johnny to the punch. Ronnie thought that Sonny had gotten exactly what Sonny had deserved. "Not even close," Johnny snarled. Johnny then changed the subject by questioning Dante and Delores about Donofrio's murder. Dante and Delores explained that there hadn't been any evidence to suggest that Donofrio had attacked the dancers from Vaughn's, but Ronnie insisted that Donofrio had been guilty of the crimes. Later, Ewen entered the squad room to talk to Dante and Delores about the man who had been attacking the dancers. Ewen explained that he had worked up a more detailed profile on the man, so Dante and Delores invited Ewen to tell them what he had determined about their suspect. Ewen explained that they should be looking for a Caucasian man between the ages of 25 and 40. According to Ewen, the man worked indirectly with people outside of their homes, and likely had difficulty forming relationships with women. Ewen was certain that the suspect would never hurt a woman close to him, so he took his anger and frustration out on strangers. Ronnie snorted, because it didn't fit their profile of Donofrio. Ewen conceded that Donofrio had a criminal history, but Donofrio hadn't been the attacker. Ewen was confident that the person responsible for the attacks was more cunning, so they could be standing next to him, and not know it. Dante thanked Ewen, so Ewen offered to talk to any new suspects to help determine if they had the right person. Ewen invited Dante and Delores to call him, but then realized that he had misplaced his phone. Ewen suspected that it was at Kelly's, so he left to fetch it. Ronnie was not impressed with Ewen's profile of the suspect. Dante and Delores were certain that Ewen was onto something, but Ronnie scoffed, and then marched off. Delores was frustrated, because they didn't have a single suspect. Dante wondered if Delores' frustration stemmed from not being able to solve her sister's murder. He warned Delores not to let the hunt for the attacker be about vengeance for her sister. Delores pointed out that Dante had been personally involved on more than one case. Dante agreed, and then admitted that it had almost cost him Lulu. Dante decided that it was time that he got to know his new partner better, so he invited Delores and Eddie to go out for drinks with him and Lulu. Delores seemed a bit uncomfortable with the idea, but she agreed. 2/1 At Crimson, Maxie was surprised when Lulu walked in. Lulu revealed that she had heeded Maxie's advice, so Lulu didn't intend to have wine until dinner. Maxie apologized for preaching to Lulu about Lulu's drinking, but Lulu insisted that it had been necessary. Lulu changed the subject by asking if Kate were in, and wondering what kind of mood Kate was in. Maxie's eyes narrowed as she asked, "Why?" Lulu revealed that Kate had offered Lulu a job. Kate emerged from her office, barking about an employee who hadn't met Kate's standards. Lulu quickly decided that perhaps there was a job opening at the coffee shop. After Kate left, Spinelli arrived, carrying a huge bouquet of flowers. Maxie was delighted when she read the card that Spinelli had written, thanking Maxie for a wonderful evening. Lulu quickly figured out that Maxie had enlisted Spinelli's help to make Matt jealous. Lulu pointed out that she had taken Maxie's advice, so Lulu urged Maxie to return the courtesy. Maxie had no idea what Lulu was talking about, so Lulu suggested that Maxie reconsider lying, playing games, and using people. At Pozzulo's, Sonny revealed his intentions to donate money for a pulmonary wing at the hospital, in Dante's name. Dante refused to let Sonny use Dante's name to buy Sonny's way to redemption. Dante accused his father of donating money to charity in an attempt to "whitewash" Sonny's image, but Sonny insisted that the doctors at General Hospital were great, so Sonny wanted to show his appreciation to them for saving Dante's life. Dante believed that Sonny was attempting to use the money to get Dante to look the other way while Sonny broke the law. Sonny pointed out that Dante had been eager to help Michael when Michael had been found in the alley with Donofrio's body, prompting Dante to wonder how long it would take for Sonny to expect Dante to do the same thing for Sonny. Dante explained that he had known that Michael hadn't been guilty of killing Donofrio, but Sonny was certain that Dante would do anything to protect his family. Dante didn't appreciate Sonny playing the family card whenever it was convenient. Sonny assured Dante that his intention to donate a wing in Dante's name had been an attempt to do something meaningful for Dante and Lulu. Dante suggested that Sonny should consider quitting the organization, to focus on the coffee business, so that Dante wouldn't have to keep tabs on Sonny. Sonny turned the tables on Dante by asking Dante to quit the police force. Dante insisted that he couldn't do that for Sonny, or anyone else. Sonny tried to find a compromise, so that Sonny could have a relationship with Dante, but Dante refused to bend. Lulu entered Kelly's, and then greeted Shawn when she saw him at the counter. Shawn confessed that he missed having her as a dog walker. Lulu explained that she was allergic to dogs, so she couldn't walk Wilson. Moments later, Dante walked in. After Dante and Lulu sat down at a table, Dante told her about his visit with Sonny. Dante accused Sonny of trying to raise the stakes in the family bonding department by donating a pulmonary wing in Dante's name, but Lulu suggested that perhaps Sonny simply wanted to find a way to have a relationship with Dante. T.J. strolled over to Dante and Lulu's table, and then boldly flirted with Lulu. Lulu quickly introduced T.J. to her husband, Dante. Shawn was mortified by T.J.'s behavior, so Shawn ordered T.J. to return to his studies. Shawn explained the situation with T.J., and then apologized for his young ward's disrespectful behavior. After Shawn walked away, Lulu revealed that she had gone to Crimson to talk to Kate about a job. However, Kate had been in "full-on diva mode," which had made Lulu realize that Lulu was not a fashionista with a passion for hemlines. Lulu explained that she wanted to find a job, because she needed to be busy, and to stop worrying about finding her passion. Dante was confident that everything would work out. Moments later, Dante spotted Ewen, so he greeted the doctor, and then introduced Ewen to Lulu. Ewen revealed that there had been something that Ewen had neglected to mention to Dante about the man who had been attacking the dancers. According to Ewen, the perpetrator likely had a pattern of assaulting women long before arriving in Port Charles. 2/2 At Jake's, Coleman was surprised to see Dante and Lulu seated at a table, because they were an "old married couple." Moments later, Delores entered the bar, and then announced that the first round was on her. Delores explained that her husband, Eddie, would be along shortly. Delores confessed that she was grateful to Lulu for convincing Delores to show up for drinks. Dante was surprised when Lulu credited Delores for helping Lulu to realize that marriage to Dante would work out. Lulu explained that she had been confused about being married to a cop, but then Lulu had talked to Delores about how Eddie had handled being the husband of a police officer. Lulu admitted that Delores had also advised Lulu to focus on the small things, instead of being consumed by what happened at the police station. Delores was surprised that Lulu had taken her advice to heart, so Delores decided that Dante owed Delores. They laughed, and then Delores admitted that it was a bit ironic that Lulu credited Delores for persuading Lulu to marry Dante, while Olivia seemed convinced that Delores was out to seduce Dante. Lulu and Dante explained that Olivia was a bit overprotective towards Dante, so Delores shouldn't take it personally. Dante, Lulu, and Delores continued to drink, but Delores became concerned when Eddie failed to show.Dante spotted Ewen at the bar, so Dante called out to the doctor. Ewen excused himself, and then walked over to Dante's table. Dante revealed that they had put Ewen's profile of the man who had attacked the dancers through their computer system, which had generated a number of possible suspects. Dante was curious if Ewen had any additional information that might help narrow down the parameters. Ewen revealed that the man that they were looking for was someone who, on some level, wanted to be caught, but he wouldn't be an obvious suspect, like Donofrio had been. Dante confided that Delores had never believed that Donofrio had been their man. Ewen was surprised, so he asked her why. Delores explained that it had been gut-instinct. Moments later, Delores' cell phone rang.Delores excused herself to take the call from her husband. Ewen also excused himself and left the bar. After Delores ended the call with her husband, she returned to the table to inform Dante and Lulu that Eddie wouldn't be joining them. Delores decided to head home, because she didn't want to be a third wheel. Dante and Lulu tried to persuade Delores to stay, but she declined. Dante noticed a flyer that had dropped out of Delores' purse. Delores explained that she had intended to give it to Eddie, because there was an opening for a file clerk in the evidence room at the police station. Delores had hoped that it would provide Eddie with a steady job, and give them some time together, but she realized that Eddie probably wouldn't be interested in a desk job. After Delores left, Lulu looked at the flyer. She confessed that the job sounded appealing, and it would give her something to do. Lulu then changed the subject, because she felt bad for Delores. Lulu had sensed that the night had been important to Delores. Lulu noticed that Dante seemed preoccupied, so Dante admitted that he had been thinking about the case, and what Dr. Keenan had said. Lulu confided that Dr. Keenan seemed smart, but "weird." Dante didn't care how odd Dr. Keenan was, as long as the doctor could help them nail the attacker. Meanwhile, Delores was walking along the waterfront, unaware that someone was following her. 2/3 At Jake's, Lulu and Dante chatted about Delores. Lulu wondered about the mystery husband, but Dante identified himself as one who didn't pry. As they left, Lulu asked Mac to put in a good word for her with regard to the file clerk position she was considering applying for. Lulu and Dante noticed Mac was not in good spirits, but Mac shooed them away. Outside, Delores was attacked. She struggled to get free, but the stranger only left when a car passed by. Delores fell to the ground and lost consciousness. Lulu and Dante happened upon her as she was regaining consciousness. She was sure it had been the guy who'd been attacking the strippers. Dante thought maybe Delores had been targeted because the guy knew she was a cop. Dante, Lulu, and Delores arrived at the front desk, prompting Olivia to wonder what had happened. Lulu filled Olivia in on the night's events. Dante went to check on Delores. Olivia expressed to Lulu that she was suspicious of Delores. Lulu replied that Dante would be just as concerned if Ronnie had been the one attacked. Lulu thought she and Delores could become friends. Olivia urged Lulu to take the clerical position at the police station, so she could keep an eye on Delores. Delores and Dante returned to Lulu and Olivia. Delores made plans to get a cab home. Dante promised they'd get whoever had attacked her. 2/7 Delores hovered near the evidence room, but quickly ducked out of sight when a police officer suddenly exited the room. Moments later, Delores peeked through the evidence room window, but then stepped away when she heard Dante and Lulu approaching. Delores pretended to be surprised to see them, so Dante explained that Lulu had decided to apply for the file clerk position. Delores was happy for Lulu, but Lulu clarified that the job wasn't hers yet. Lulu then asked how Delores was faring, following the attack. Delores insisted that she was fine, but frustrated, because Delores hadn't gotten a good look at the perpetrator. Delores felt as if she had let down the other victims. Dante ushered Lulu into the evidence room to show Lulu around. He realized that it was a far cry from working at Crimson, but Lulu assured him that working for Kate hadn't been a glamorous job. Dante worried that Lulu would get bored with the work in the evidence room, but Lulu was certain that she could handle it. Lulu also liked the idea of spending time with her husband. Dante warned Lulu that he would be busy working, so they wouldn't spend as much time together as she anticipated. Lulu shrugged, and then reminded him that they could use the money. Dante insisted that he didn't want Lulu to worry about the money. Talk of money led to a conversation about Sonny's decision to donate a pulmonary wing at the hospital in Dante's name. Lulu assured Dante that she appreciated Dante's decision to distance himself from Sonny, and the organization, but the wing would help a lot of people. Dante explained that it felt as if it were a bribe. "It is," Lulu admitted. She then added that it was the only way that Sonny knew how to show Dante that he cared. Dante was surprised that Lulu was defending Sonny. Lulu explained that no matter how much money Sonny spent, he couldn't buy Dante's love; that was up to Dante to give. Dante confessed that he had given all of his love to Lulu, and then kissed his wife. Later, Lulu looked around the evidence room as she confessed that the job might help her to focus on what she really wanted to do with her life. She then suggested that perhaps she might find something among the boxes that would blow a case wide open. 2/10 Dante received a text message. It was Sonny inviting him to the party to celebrate the money Sonny was donating to the hospital's pulmonary wing in Dante's honor. The money was tainted, because it was from the mob, Dante grumbled. There was always a catch with Sonny. Delores pointed out that, at least the ill-gotten gain was going to a good cause. Lulu had said the same thing, Dante mentioned. "Sonny never pays for what he does," Dante said. Dante asked how Delores' injuries were healing. He wondered how her husband was feeling. She casually mentioned that she hadn't told him. "Eddy knows I'm a cop," she said. "He knows that a few bruises come with the job," she added. Dante was suspicious, but Delores explained that she didn't want Eddy to think she was vulnerable. She expressed anger at her attacker. Dante asked if it had anything to do with her sister's death. Delores replied, "For all I know, he could be the same person." 2/14 Dante entered the evidence room at the police station, where Lulu was working. He surprised her with a bouquet of flowers, and a small box containing an MP3 player. Lulu kissed her husband, and then sneezed. She complained that the dust was wreaking havoc on her sinuses, but she loved the roses that he had given to her. Dante resorted to some corny pickup lines, which made Lulu chuckle. However, she insisted that she needed to get back to work. Lulu promised to continue their tryst later that evening, which reminded Dante of the benefit event that they were scheduled to attend. Dante began to complain about Sonny's motives for donating money to General Hospital for a pulmonary wing, and research. Lulu suggested that sometimes being right was not always the most important thing. She conceded that Sonny's reasons for donating the wing were transparent, but it would help a lot of people. Dante agreed, so he vowed to focus on that during the evening, but it didn't mean that he had to like it. Lulu pointed out that calling Sonny out in front of the donors would make them less inclined to give money.Dante explained that he resented Sonny putting himself out there as a philanthropist. Lulu was curious if Dante would be able to hold his tongue during the benefit. "We'll see," Dante replied. However, he was determined to attend, because of all of the people who had struggled with pulmonary issues. Dante then shifted gears when he spotted Chuck Donofrio's file. Dante confided that it seemed too coincidental that their only suspect in the attacks on the dancers had ended up dead in an alley from an apparent mugging gone awry. Lulu wished that she could find something that would help Dante find the person responsible for hurting the dancers. Dante confessed that it was likely that the same person who had assaulted the dancers had also targeted Delores. Lulu sneezed again, and then complained about the dust in the evidence room. She insisted that they needed a cleaning crew, because the dust was so think that it had left footprints all over the place. Dante kissed his wife, and then thanked her, because her allergies might have given him a way to find the attacker. 2/16 In the alley where Delores had been attacked, Dante searched for clues to help identify the attacker. Ronnie urged Dante to let it go, because they had combed the crime scene countless times without finding anything useful. Dante pointed out that the attacker had always gone after dancers, so it seemed odd that Delores had been targeted. Ronnie suggested that perhaps Delores had been mistaken for a dancer, but Dante suspected that it was because Delores and Dante had gotten too close. Ronnie argued that Chuck had been their prime suspect, but Dante remained unconvinced that Donofrio had been responsible for the attacks. Dante continued searching, because the ground had been dusted with snow on the night of Delores' attack, and the temperatures had remained under freezing, since that night. Dante hoped to find some footprints that might help to identify a new suspect, but Ronnie pointed out that a lot of people had tracked through the area since the night of Delores' attack. Moments later, Dante spotted a set of footprints near where Delores had been attacked. Dante noticed that the right foot appeared to have been dragging, so he snapped some pictures of the footprints. Sonny pulled Max aside to instruct Max to keep a close eye on things. Sonny explained that Johnny had been on the warpath since Sonny had given Johnny the information about Claudia. Sonny feared that Johnny would make a move while Sonny was distracted with the benefit. Sonny then ordered Max to check Johnny's shipment to make sure that it was shut down. Dante was disgusted when he overheard his father's exchange with Max. Max walked away, as Dante angrily accused Sonny of using the night for an alibi. Sonny tried to explain that Dante had misunderstood the exchange, but Dante continued to rant about Sonny's nefarious ways. Sonny insisted that he simply wanted to show his appreciation to the doctors for saving Dante's life, but Dante angrily reminded Sonny that Dante had been shot in Sonny's warehouse by Sonny's enemies. Olivia quickly stepped in to pull her son away, before things escalated. Olivia explained that Sonny was doing a good thing, but Dante didn't care. Dante called Lulu to check on her, because she was under the weather. He urged his wife to have some soup, and then promised to leave the benefit after the check was handed off. Olivia walked up as Dante ended the call. Dante confessed that he was happy that Lulu wasn't there, because Dante was furious that Sonny had used Dante as a cover. Olivia reminded Dante that Sonny loved Dante, and then advised Dante to figure out how to deal with that. Dante insisted that he was grateful that he had been raised without Sonny being a part of his life. 2/17 Olivia tried to persuade Dante to accept Sonny's overture as a good deed, but Dante remained unconvinced that Sonny was doing it because it was the right thing to do. Kate distracted Sonny by getting everyone's attention to make an announcement. Carly, however, upstaged her nemesis. Sonny began to orate, waxing eloquently about the exquisite level of care General Hospital had provided his son, Dante, after he'd been shot. As Johnny reached for his checkbook, Max rushed him, thinking it was a gun. Johnny spoke up, offering three million dollars to the pulmonary wing. Sonny countered with four million, which spurred a bidding war. Once Sonny got to ten million, Johnny insinuated that Dante had been bought off by his father. "Maybe Sonny finally bought and paid for you tonight, like he's been trying to do since he shot you, is that right?" Johnny posed. "If you choose to stay, Johnny, I'll just tell everybody the truth about you," Sonny threatened. Johnny was defiant, so Sonny announced to all in the room that Claudia had been Johnny's mother, not his sister. "The night ain't over yet," Johnny forewarned as he stormed out. Anthony threatened to destroy Sonny's life. Everyone in the room was stunned and a bit disgusted at Sonny's performance. Dante left the building, and Sonny went after him. Sonny met up with Dante in the parking garage. As they argued, someone peered at them from behind a parked car. Sonny said that he'd acted to protect his family, but Dante made it clear he didn't want Sonny's protection. "I want you behind bars, where you belong," Dante shouted. "And until that happens, you are dead to me," he added. The person behind the car aimed a revolver at the two men. 2/20 Dante and Sonny exchanged heated word in the parking structure of the Metro Court. Dante said that he was not Sonny's son anymore and that he wanted zero to do with Sonny. Sonny said that Dante could not turn his back on family. Dante shot back, "Watch me." Sonny noticed a gunman and shouted a warning at Dante before he dived in front of the bullet. Dante pushed Sonny aside and drew his gun. He shouted that he was a cop and started after the shooter, but stopped when he noticed Sonny on the ground, bleeding. Sonny told Dante to go and do his job, but Dante would not leave Sonny. As Dante applied pressure to the wound, he told Sonny that Sonny had saved Dante's life. Sonny's response was, "You're my son." Sonny told Dante to find Johnny. Dante said they could not be sure Johnny was the shooter. Sonny said it was Johnny because Johnny knew that the best way to hurt Sonny was to kill Sonny's son. Dante burst into the party and said that Sonny had been shot. Kate screamed and wanted to know if Sonny was okay. Steve got some emergency medical supplies and headed to the parking structure with Mac and Dante. Mac questioned Dante, who was unable to provide a description of the shooter. When they arrived at the parking structure, Sonny was nowhere to be found. Kate was right behind them and screamed when she saw blood on the pavement. 2/21 In Metro Court's parking garage, Dante was confident that he knew where Sonny had gone. Dante wanted time to find Sonny, so Mac reluctantly agreed to give Dante an hour. Nearby, Steve was concerned about Kate, who appeared to be in a state of shock, so he decided to take Kate back to the restaurant. Sonny's shirt was covered in blood as he held Johnny at gunpoint, Carly appeared on wearing Johnny's robe, and her hair wet. Carly wondered why Johnny would want to shoot Dante. Sonny explained that Johnny had hoped to make Sonny suffer by forcing Sonny to watch Dante die. Johnny claimed that he wouldn't have risked a mandatory life sentence by killing a cop, but Sonny wasn't convinced. Sonny was certain that Carly would feel the same need for revenge, if their roles had been reversed, but Carly insisted that she wouldn't have acted without sufficient proof. Moments later, Dante entered Johnny’s penthouse. Dante tried to persuade his father to put the gun down, but Sonny refused to cooperate. Sonny pointed out that he had taken a bullet for Dante, so Sonny wanted Dante to leave, so that Sonny could took care of Johnny. Dante appreciated that Sonny had been willing to die for Dante, but Dante couldn't look the other way. Dante and Carly continued to talk to Sonny. Carly reminded Sonny that their children needed their father, prompting Sonny to wonder why Carly always used the children when she wanted something. Carly explained that she wanted Sonny to step up for their kids, which finally calmed Sonny down enough to wonder who else would want to shoot Dante. Johnny conceded that perhaps Anthony had been behind the shooting, since it hadn't been the first time that Anthony had targeted Sonny's children. Dante was curious if Johnny were suggesting that Anthony had shot Dante in Sonny's warehouse over the summer. Dante wanted to take Johnny to the police station for a statement, but Johnny threatened to mention Sonny's visit. Dante wasn't intimidated by Johnny's threat, so Sonny lowered the gun. In the elevator, Sonny assured Dante that it wasn't necessary to take Sonny to the hospital. Dante appreciated that Sonny had gone after Johnny to protect him, but Sonny realized that he hadn't done it in the way that Dante had wanted. Dante smiled, because he realized that his father finally understood, which gave Dante hope for them. Dante thanked his father for saving his life, and then helped Sonny out of the elevator. 2/22 At the hospital, Sonny explained that Dante didn't have to stay, but Dante didn't trust Sonny to remain in the hospital. Dante was certain that Sonny would try to hunt down Anthony at the first opportunity, so Dante wanted to stay with Sonny. Dante then confessed that he finally believed Sonny's claims of loving Dante, because Sonny had taken a bullet for Dante. Sonny admitted that he would die for Dante, even if Dante hated him. Dante's tone softened, as he asked his father to let the doctors patch Sonny up. Sonny confessed that a part of him had thought that Dante had been on the verge of calling him, "Dad." "Thank you for saving my life...Dad," Dante replied. Dante conceded that Johnny hadn't been blameless in what had transpired at the benefit event, but Dante didn't want Sonny to seek revenge for the shooting. Sonny didn't make any promises, but he allowed Dante to help him to the emergency room. Later, the doctor explained that he was legally obligated to report all gunshot wounds. Dante flashed his badge to the doctor, and then assured the doctor that it was fine for the doctor to file whatever paperwork was necessary. The doctor relaxed, as he explained that Sonny had lost a lot of blood, so he urged Sonny to take it easy, and not to tear the stitches. After the doctor left, Dante reminded Sonny to stay away from Anthony. Kate rushed into the examination room. Kate was clearly distraught as she hugged and kissed Sonny, so Sonny quickly assured her that he was fine. Meanwhile, Olivia pulled Dante into the hallway to speak to her son privately. In the examination room, Sonny revealed that Johnny hadn't been responsible for the shooting, so Anthony was the likely suspect. Sonny then confided that Anthony had been aiming for Dante. In the hallway, Olivia was curious where Sonny had been. Dante revealed that Sonny had gone to Johnny's penthouse to confront the younger Zacchara, but Carly had talked Sonny down. Olivia was relieved that Carly had been on hand, so Dante was curious why Olivia cared about what happened to Johnny. Olivia reminded her son that she and Johnny had history together, but Dante argued that it had been over between Olivia and Johnny for a long time, and that Olivia had moved on with a doctor who was a good guy. "Yeah, a really good guy," Olivia sarcastically replied. Later, Dante called Lulu to check in with his wife. He told Lulu that he was at the hospital on police business, and then promised to be home soon. Olivia overheard Dante's end of the conversation with Lulu, so she wondered why he hadn't told Lulu about the shooting. Olivia thought that Lulu had a right to know that Dante had been standing next to Sonny when a gunman had opened fire. Dante confessed that he was still trying to accept that Sonny had saved his life. Olivia insisted that Sonny loved Dante, and that Sonny had proven to Dante that he would die for his son. 2/23 Michael arrived at the hospital, but Dante stopped his brother from entering Sonny's examination room, because Kate was with Sonny. Dante explained that Kate was upset about the shooting. Michael relaxed when Dante assured Michael that Sonny was expected to make a full recovery. Dante then revealed that Johnny had implicated Anthony in the warehouse shooting over the summer. Mac spotted Sonny near the nurses' station. Sonny realized that Mac was upset, so Mac coldly informed Sonny that Robin was dead. Sonny was taken aback by the news, so he asked Mac what had happened. Mac told Sonny about the explosion in the lab, and then wondered why Sonny appeared to be in shock when people died around Sonny all of the time. Michael sprang to his father's defense by reminding Mac that Sonny had nothing to do with the explosion. Mac angrily accused Sonny of causing Robin years of pain, and then insisted that her life would have been better if she had never met Sonny or Stone. Sonny couldn't understand why Mac would say that, knowing that Robin had loved Stone with everything that she had. "And what did she get in return, Sonny?" Mac asked. Sonny argued that Stone wouldn't have hurt Robin, and that Stone hadn't realized that he had been HIV positive. "What about you Sonny? What about all the people you love?" Mac asked, and then reminded Sonny that Michael and Dante had nearly died because of Sonny. Mac insisted that Robin had had a family who had loved her, but she had been in the lab getting medication to save Jason. According to Mac, Sonny and Jason were not worth saving. Dante decided to take Mac home, so Dante asked Michael to keep their father from doing anything else to ruin the night, and then left with Mac. 2/24 Dante went home and explained to Lulu that Sonny had saved his life that night. Dante revealed the fact that Claudia had really been Johnny's mother, not his sister, and that Sonny had announced it to everyone at the Metro Court that night. Dante recapped what had happened in the parking garage, that someone had shot at Dante, but Sonny had taken the bullet. Dante said that he finally accepted Sonny as his father. Dante also let Lulu know that he'd gone to Johnny's penthouse just in time to keep Sonny from killing Johnny. Then Dante told Lulu that something else had happened that night, Robin had been killed in an accident at the hospital. 2/27 Dante and Lulu sat at their kitchen table and caught up on the events that had occurred that evening. Both were still in shock because Sonny had jumped in front of a bullet to save Dante. Lulu said that it proved that Sonny really did love Dante, and Dante agreed with her. Lulu mentioned her relationship to Luke and both agreed that their relationships with their respective fathers were complicated. Lulu said that life was strange. She recalled how worried she had been for Dante because of his dangerous job and how stunned she had been to find out that Robin, who should have been safe in her job, had been killed in a lab accident. Lulu said that life did not make sense. Lulu wanted to call Maxie, but Dante said to give Mac time to locate Maxie and tell her the news. Dante said that after what had happened, one had to believe in God, because God had returned Dante safely home to Lulu. Lulu said that it was hard to believe in God after what had happened to Robin, and she understood Luke's agnostic beliefs. Lulu asked if Mac had said anything else about what had caused the accident. Dante said that Mac was very upset and had not given Dante any of the details. Michael knocked on the door and told Dante that Sonny had disappeared from the ER. Dante apologized to Lulu and said that he had to help Michael find Sonny. Lulu said that she understood and that after the way Dante had stood by her when she had been searching for Luke the previous summer, she would also stand by him while he searched for Sonny. L ulu cautioned Dante and Michael to be careful. After they men were gone, Lulu called Lucky and gave him the sad news about Robin. She told Lucky that she would also call Ethan and try to locate Luke. Michael and Dante stopped to render assistance when they come upon a car accident. While Dante checked out Anthony's car, Michael went to Starr. He promised her that he would get Hope and Cole out of the automobile. Michael used a crowbar and tried to get a door open. When Dante arrived to help, Michael told him that the car was unstable and that every time he tried to open a door, the car shifted. Dante called in the accident and said they needed help because a man and a child were trapped in a vehicle. Starr passed out from the pain. The sound of grinding metal began as Cole's auto started slipping over the cliff. Michael ran to the car and tried to stop its forward progress. 2/28 On a Port Charles road, Michael desperately tried to help Cole Thornhart, and Cole and Starr's daughter, Hope, who were trapped in a car, following a head-on collision with Anthony Zacchara's car. Dante hovered over an unconscious Starr, as he called for 911. Dante warned Michael to stay away from Cole's car, which was perched precariously on the cliff's edge, but Michael was determined to keep his promise to Starr to save her boyfriend and daughter. Dante was horrified as he watched the car careen over the edge, along with Michael. Dante raced to edge of the cliff, and then yelled for Michael. Seconds later, Michael called out; he had managed to grab onto an outcropping near the top. Dante pulled Michael to safety, and then looked down at the wreckage. Dante doubted that anyone could have survived, but Michael insisted on checking for survivors. Moments later, the car exploded into a fiery ball. Michael recovered from the shock of seeing Cole and Hope perish in the explosion, and then raced over to Starr. Michael scooped up Starr, and then took her to his car, as police and ambulance sirens drew near. After Michael left with Starr, Mac arrived on the scene of the accident. Dante quickly filled Mac in on how he and Michael had happened upon the crash, and then Cole and Hope's tragic deaths. Mac and Dante went to check out the car of the other driver, and quickly determined that the car belonged to Anthony Zacchara. Mac soon discovered that one of the tires had been shot out, so he immediately suspected Sonny. Dante insisted that there wasn't any evidence to suggest that Sonny had shot out the tire, but Mac was certain that Sonny was guilty. Mac recalled that Dante had been at the Quartermaines' earlier that evening, so he demanded to know if Dante had been there because Sonny had gone gunning for Anthony. Dante reminded Mac that people were considered innocent until proven guilty, but Mac wasn't swayed. Mac ordered Dante to track down Sonny. At the nurses' station, Sonny asked to see a doctor because he had ripped his stitches. Dante suddenly appeared behind Sonny. Dante reminded Sonny that Sonny had been expected to remain at the hospital, so he was curious how Sonny had reopened his injury. 2/29 At the hospital, Dante regretted leaving Sonny alone. Sonny admitted that what had happened to Robin had been terrible, but Dante quickly clarified that he had been referring to something else. Dante accused Sonny of going after Anthony, so Sonny proudly admitted that he had done what he had to, in order to protect Sonny's children. Dante was curious what Sonny had been doing at the Quartermaine mansion. Sonny explained that he had gone to the Quartermaines' to make peace with Anthony, but Dante didn't believe a word of Sonny's story. Sonny assured Dante that Anthony had been well, thanks to Tracy's intervention, when Sonny had left the mansion. Dante explained that, shortly after Sonny had left, Anthony had taken off in the car, and then had crashed into the car of a young family. Sonny was horrified to learn that the driver, and the driver's young daughter, had been killed in the accident. Michael entered the room to find out what Dante had learned about the accident. Michael was stunned when Dante told him that Anthony had crashed into Starr's car. Michael's anger turned to disbelief when Dante added that someone had shot out one of the tires of Anthony's car. Dante turned to Sonny for answers, but Sonny denied any involvement. Dante reminded Sonny that Sonny had been waving a gun around at the Quartermaine mansion, so Dante was curious where the gun was. "Gone," Sonny cryptically answered. Dante warned Sonny that the police would dig out the slug that had been fired into Anthony's tire, so they would want to see Sonny's weapon if the bullet was tied to a nine-millimeter gun. Sonny welcomed the opportunity to prove that he'd had nothing to do with Anthony's accident. After Sonny left, Michael admitted that he felt responsible for failing to save Starr's family. Michael worried that Sonny might have been responsible for the accident, but Dante pointed out that they didn't have any proof that Sonny had shot out the tire. Michael wondered who else it could have been. 3/2 Dante barged into the Quartermaine mansion and demanded that Tracy tell him where Anthony was. She replied that she had no idea and suggested Dante focus the investigation on who had caused the crash, Sonny. She accused Dante of covering for Sonny and demanded that Dante leave her home, since he had no warrant. Dante went to Kate's office and found the bloody dress draped over a chair. Something caught his eye, and he realized that there was a gun lying on the floor near the door. 3/5 Dante found a gun in Kate's office. Maxie walked in on him and asked what he was doing. Dante wanted to know who had been in Kate's office. Maxie said that Kate practically lived there. Dante walked into the PD and told Delores that he had found a nine-millimeter gun and asked Delores to get a ballistics report. He did not want to give her any details about where he had found the gun, but did tell her that he had also found shoeprints in the alley where she had been attacked. Delores was hopeful that they would be able to put two criminals behind bars that day. Much later, Delores returned with the ballistics report. Dante did not seem happy as he read the test results. 3/6 Dante appeared at GH and announced that he wanted to ask Sonny a few questions at the police station. Later in the interrogation room, Dante questioned Sonny about what had transpired after Sonny left the Quartermaine mansion. Sonny explained that he had gone to the hospital to check on Jason, and then had paid Kate a visit at Crimson. "Is that a crime?" Sonny wondered. Dante revealed that it could be, and then showed Sonny the gun that had been found in Kate's office. Dante explained that ballistics had matched the gun to the bullets that had been recovered from Anthony's tires. Sonny argued that he simply wasn't a good enough shot to take out two tires, while driving. Dante revealed that they still needed a witness statement from Anthony, who seemed to have disappeared. Sonny wasn't sorry to hear that Anthony was missing, and he doubted that Johnny would feel any concern either. Dante admitted that he wanted to believe Sonny, but the evidence was against Sonny. 3/7 In the interrogation room, Sonny suggested that Dante cite a conflict of interest, but Dante refused to step down from the case, in the event that Sonny was telling the truth about not shooting out Anthony's tires. Dante wanted the opportunity to vindicate his father. Alexis entered the interrogation room. She was concerned that Sonny's civil rights had been violated, but Sonny assured her that everything was okay. Alexis resented that Sonny was always the suspect by default every time a crime was committed, so Dante outlined the evidence against Sonny. Alexis insisted that the police would need more than vague suspicions, and circumstantial evidence to charge Sonny with murder. Alexis pointed out that it was unlikely that Sonny would be so calm if Sonny had been responsible for the death of a child, but Dante argued that Sonny had been known to demonstrate an ability to cover his guilt when necessary. Alexis suggested that perhaps Anthony had hired someone to shoot out the tires, and to plant the gun in Kate's office. Dante revealed that a blood trail had been found at the scene of the accident, indicating that Anthony had been wounded, so perhaps three people had been killed on that fateful night. After Dante stepped out of the interrogation room, Alexis asked if Sonny had caused the accident that had claimed the life of a child and the child's father. Sonny acknowledged that he and Alexis had been down a similar road in the past. Sonny hadn't been completely honest with her then, but he insisted that he'd had nothing to do with Anthony's crash. Alexis argued that Sonny tended to get irrational when his children were in danger, but Sonny insisted that he wasn't asking her to believe him, just to defend him. Later, Michael arrived at the police station upon hearing about Sonny's arrest. Dante explained that they had found a nine-millimeter gun, with the serial number scratched off, in Kate's office, and that the bullets recovered from the tires of Anthony's car had been fired from a nine-millimeter gun. Alexis stepped out of the interrogation room to remind Dante that the evidence against Sonny was circumstantial, but Dante explained that the arrest was out of his hands. Dante advised Alexis to talk to Mac. Sonny implored Michael not to get involved. Michael watched helplessly as Sonny was hauled away to be booked for murder. Lulu was startled when she saw Maxie standing in the hallway outside of Lulu's loft. Maxie was in tears, so Lulu dragged Maxie into the apartment. Maxie confessed that she had done something horrible, and then admitted that she had gone to see Robin in the lab, shortly before Robin had perished. Maxie insisted that she had been responsible for what had happened to Robin, so Lulu asked her friend to elaborate. Maxie explained that she'd interrupted Robin, who had been working on a cure for Jason, to demand that Robin accompany Maxie to the benefit. Lulu assured Maxie that there hadn't been anything wrong with Maxie turning to Robin for advice, but Maxie remained distraught. Maxie regretted that she hadn't paid more attention to the things around the lab. Lulu was curious what Maxie was talking about, but Maxie couldn't find the words to explain, so she ran to the bathroom. A short time later, Lulu wrapped up a phone call, as Maxie emerged from the bathroom. Maxie tried to leave, but Lulu refused to let her friend walk out of the door. Lulu tried to get to the bottom of what was troubling Maxie, beyond Robin's tragic death, but Maxie continued to talk in circles, as she expressed remorse for not being able to apologize to Robin. Moments later, Mac arrived. Mac thanked Lulu for calling him, as Maxie ran into his waiting arms. Maxie sobbed on Mac's shoulder, and repeatedly apologized, as Mac insisted that Maxie had nothing to be sorry for. 3/8 At the police station, Dante was staring at a picture of Sonny and Kate, as Lulu entered the squad room. Dante was surprised to see his wife at work, so she explained that Maxie was at the loft, grieving for Robin, and that Mac had stopped by to comfort Maxie. Lulu had left, because she thought that Maxie and Mac needed some time alone. Dante switched gears to tell Lulu about the gun that he had found in Kate's office, which had been used to shoot out Anthony's tires. Dante wondered if it were foolish to want to believe that Sonny hadn't been responsible for the crash that had claimed the lives of a young father and child. Lulu assured Dante that it was a normal reaction, because Sonny had saved Dante's life. Lulu was curious if Dante thought that Sonny might be guilty, so Dante admitted that it wasn't outside the realm of possibility. Lulu suggested that Dante could ask to be reassigned, so Dante explained that he wanted the opportunity to vindicate Sonny if Sonny were innocent of the crime. Lulu suspected that Dante was trying to prove something to himself, so Dante admitted that he felt conflicted about Sonny, because he realized that Sonny thought differently than most people. Moments later, Delores approached Dante's desk to inform Dante that she had received word that Kate was at Crimson. After Delores walked away, Dante asked Lulu for a favor. Dante revealed that he had snapped pictures of some footprints that he had spotted in the alley where Delores had been attacked. Dante decided to upload the pictures onto the police department's computer, so he asked Lulu to print them up, and then give them to Delores. Lulu agreed, and then assured Dante that she supported whatever he decided to do about Sonny. Dante thanked Lulu, and then admitted that he just wanted to give the young woman, who had lost her child and boyfriend, some closure. Dante entered Kate’s office. Dante sensed the tension in the air between her and Ewen, so he asked if everything were okay. Kate assured Dante that Dr. Keenan was leaving. Ewen urged her to call him, and then left. Afterwards, Dante questioned Kate about Sonny. Kate confirmed that Sonny had been in her office, so Dante was curious if she recognized the gun. Kate looked at the gun that Dante held up, and then assured him that she had never seen it. Dante revealed that it had been found in Kate's office, and then suggested that perhaps Sonny had planted it there after shooting out Anthony's tires. Kate refused to believe that Sonny would stash the gun in her office. Dante was curious who else had been in her office, besides Maxie, who had been present when the gun had been discovered. Kate decided to talk to Sonny, but Dante revealed that Sonny had been arrested. Dante explained that Anthony's car had veered into oncoming traffic, after the tires had been shot out. Kate was horrified when Dante revealed that a young father and his daughter had been killed. Kate insisted that Sonny was innocent, but Dante warned her not to lie for Sonny, or she might wind up in a cell next to him. At the police station, Delores was surprised to see Lulu approach Dante's desk to print some pictures. Lulu explained why she was working, but then stopped short when she realized that the pictures that Dante had uploaded were not on the computer. Delores suggested that Lulu upload them from the phone again, but Lulu quickly discovered that the pictures had been deleted. Lulu wondered if Delores had noticed anyone hovering near Dante's desk, but Delores assured her that she hadn't. A short time later, Dante entered the squad room. Lulu quickly filled him in on what had happened, so he checked his phone. Dante noticed that the pictures that he had taken before photographing the crime scene, and the pictures that he had taken afterwards, were still on his phone, which meant that the pictures of the footprints had been intentionally deleted. They were unaware that Delores lurked nearby, eavesdropping on their conversation. 3/9 Michael went to the police station and was surprised when Lulu told him that Sonny was being arraigned. Lulu doubted Sonny's innocence, which angered Michael. Michael noticed the report on the dancers who had been attacked. Delores grabbed the file and said they had nothing to go on. "That's not entirely true," interjected Lulu, who shared with Michael that the police had found footprints where Delores had been jumped but that the photos they'd taken had disappeared. She promised that Dante would not give up until he closed that case. After Michael left, Delores chastised Lulu for having shared key information with Michael. Lulu pointed out that Delores had been the only one near Dante's computer at the time the photos had disappeared. Delores reacted angrily until Dante walked in. Dante made it clear to Sonny that the evidence was incriminating and, despite his doubt that Sonny had shot out Anthony's tires, he'd have to present it without expressing his own opinions. In the courtroom, the Assistant District Attorney called Dante to the stand. Dante testified that the slugs they'd pulled from Anthony's tires matched the gun found in Kate's office. The judge held Sonny over for prosecution. Alexis pointed out that the evidence was circumstantial; anyone could have planted the gun. The ADA asked for Sonny to be remanded without bail, because Sonny was a flight risk, but the judge release Sonny on 1.5 million dollars. Sonny thanked Dante for having given unbiased testimony. 3/12 At the Port Charles police station, Delores was livid when she thought that Lulu had accused her of destroying evidence and flounced off to take a file to the evidence room. Lulu told Dante that she was not accusing Delores, but that Delores had admitted being the only one near the computer during the time the photos had been erased. Dante said that Delores was all over the crime, and it made no sense that she would want to destroy the evidence. Johnny arrived at the station and insinuated that Sonny had made bail because Dante had helped Sonny out of his predicament. Dante countered that if Johnny wanted to help, he could locate Anthony and turn Anthony in to the police. Johnny said that one way or another, Sonny would pay and then walked away. Delores told Dante and Lulu that she was not the file clerk. She asked if they had had any luck resurrecting the photos. When she got a negative response, Delores asked if there was anything else that Dante wanted to ask her. Delores walked away when Dante said he had no questions. Both Dante and Lulu agreed that Delores was touchy. Lulu asked what Dante would do if Delores were interfering with the investigation. Dante said they would have to find another way to identify the guy who was beating up the dancers. 3/14 Lulu arrived home and assured Mac that it wasn't necessary to resort to breaking the door, because she had a key. After Lulu opened the door, Mac was relieved to see Maxie sitting on the sofa. Maxie apologized for not answering the door; she explained that she'd had other things on her mind. Mac assured Maxie that he understood, because he had become distracted with thoughts of Robin earlier that morning, while making coffee. Mac and Lulu were startled when Maxie announced that she intended to go to work, instead of to Robin's funeral. Mac promised Maxie that he and Lulu would be at Maxie's side to help her through the funeral, but Maxie refused to change her mind. According to Maxie, she was needed at work. Mac warned Maxie that avoiding the funeral would not change anything; Robin would still be gone. Mac insisted that it was important for Maxie to have closure, but Maxie wasn't swayed. Maxie claimed that she wasn't interested in sharing her memories of Robin with everyone, and that everything that had made Robin who she was had disappeared when Robin had died in the lab. Mac argued that Robin being in the lab showed what kind of selfless person Robin had been. Mac thought that they should celebrate Robin, but Maxie coldly pointed out that Emma would not be celebrating. Undeterred, Mac insisted that Robin would want them to help each other through the difficult days ahead. Maxie belligerently argued that Robin wouldn't want Maxie to lose her job. Lulu tried to reason with her friend, but Maxie remained determined to go to work, so she stomped off to her bedroom to change. Mac feared that the loss of Robin had been too much for Maxie to bear, because Maxie had already lost so many important people in her life. Lulu explained to Mac that Maxie felt guilty, because Maxie had argued with Robin shortly before the explosion. Maxie overheard Mac insist that Robin's death had been a horrible accident, so Maxie had nothing to feel guilty about. Moments later, Maxie returned to the living room, dressed for work. Mac warned Maxie that she would always regret not going to Robin's funeral, but Maxie disagreed. According to Maxie, she barely remembered Georgie's funeral. Maxie explained that Georgie's funeral had been one big painful blur, and that no one had made Maxie feel better, nor had the funeral provided Maxie with any closure. Maxie suggested that perhaps it was the way that Maxie was wired, so she didn't see the point in going to Robin's funeral. Mac promised to help Maxie through it, but Maxie refused to change her mind. "Sorry, Dad," Maxie told him. Maxie was certain that, if Robin and Maxie's roles had been reversed, Robin would have gone to Maxie's funeral, but Maxie was the selfish one. After Maxie left, Lulu started to follow her friend, but Mac stopped her. 3/15 At the church, Lulu was concerned when she noticed the bruise on Luke's face. Luke assured his daughter that it was nothing to worry about, but Lulu didn't believe him. She wondered what was going on, because she had received a vague message from Ethan about leaving town. Luke suggested that they focus on Robin, but he promised to discuss Ethan's trip with Lulu later. When Lulu walked up, Spinelli wondered if she knew where Maxie was. Lulu told Spinelli and Matt that Maxie had decided to skip the funeral. Spinelli and Matt were concerned when Lulu added that Maxie had donned a red dress, and then gone to work. Matt decided to go to Maxie but Lulu pointed out that Patrick needed his brother, so Spinelli offered to go to Crimson to talk to Maxie. Lulu warned Spinelli that Maxie had made up her mind, but Spinelli reminded her that he had experience dealing with Maxie's stubbornness. Father Coates talked about the impact that Robin had had on everyone's life. Patrick avoided looking at the casket, his eyes filled with profound grief, as Father Coates invited the mourners to pay tribute to Robin. Mac was the first to give a eulogy. Mac talked about how much he had loved his niece. Memories of promising to love and support Robin, when she had been a little girl, flashed across his mind's eye as he spoke. Mac admitted that he and Robin had taken care of each other, and then he began to talk about Stone. Mac confided that he had seen Robin's tremendous capacity for love and hope while she had stood by Stone's side after Stone's diagnosis of AIDS. Mac recalled that Robin had matured and become an adult that year. Mac had been awed by Robin's courage when she had been diagnosed with HIV prior to Stone's death. According to Mac, Robin had faced her illness with strength and dignity. Mac then addressed Emma, reminding the little girl that they were family, and that there was nothing that they couldn't get through with each other at their side. Elizabeth walked to the podium to give her eulogy. Elizabeth commended Robin for being a great mother, but she acknowledged that her friend could be stubborn. Elizabeth reminded everyone that Robin had fought hard for those she had loved. Elizabeth then confided that Robin had once asked Elizabeth to step in for Robin, if Robin should die, but Robin was irreplaceable. Sonny gave the next eulogy. Sonny explained that Robin had always had an open door policy with her heart. Sonny revealed that Robin had made her own judgments about people, instead of relying on the opinion of others. He admitted that there had been something special about Robin; she'd had a light inside of her that had shone through. Sonny confessed that, like Mac, he had been a witness to the love that Robin had for Stone, and that he had watched her stand by Stone's side as Stone died of AIDS. Sonny revealed that Robin hadn't liked him at first, because she had thought that Sonny had been a terrible influence on Stone. However, Sonny and Robin had forged a strong friendship, borne of love and respect, as they had watched Stone succumb to AIDS. 3/16 Sonny eulogized Robin. He talked about how brave she'd been, how strong she was even as she faced her HIV diagnosis. He expressed his regret that he'd damaged the friendship he and Robin had shared. Anna went next and shared some of her memories. She, too, expressed her regrets that she hadn't been there for so much of Robin's childhood. Anna also thanked everyone in Robin's life who had been supportive. Anna was especially happy that her daughter had found Patrick and that they'd had a beautiful daughter. Anna began to apologize for Robert's absence, but the pastor announced that Robert had sent a letter, to be recited by Luke. Luke took to the pulpit and read Robert's words aloud. Robert had apologized for missing the service but explained that he'd been called away on an important mission by someone he trusted more than anyone else in the world. Patrick spoke next. He acknowledged that he wouldn't be able to say anything others hadn't already conveyed or had known all along. He said Robin had changed his life and had shown him what was truly important. Patrick began to break down, so Matt helped his brother back to the pews. As the pastor continued the service, Maxie rushed in still wearing the bright, red dress she'd worn to work. Lulu and Matt tried to keep Maxie from saying anything she'd later regret. Maxie announced that she hated herself for what she'd done to Robin and that everyone else would hate her, too, once she explained. Maxie blamed herself. She said she was a selfish person, whereas Robin was the most selfless person she knew. Maxie had accused Robin of not being supportive the night of the explosion. Spinelli stood up and tried to convince Maxie that she was being too hard on herself. "Robin knew the best of you, Maxie," he said. "That's what she treasured about you," he added. "I killed Robin!" Maxie cried. 3/19 Maxie broke down and shouted that she had been selfish and only cared about herself. Maxie said that she had been responsible for the broken handle on the gas jet. Spinelli, Matt, and Mac all tried to stop her. Each said that the explosion had been an accident and no one was to blame, but Maxie was not comforted. Maxie told the crowd that if she were a better person, Robin would still be alive. Maxie kept apologizing. Spinelli told her that taking the blame would not change anything. Maxie told Mac to arrest her, but Mac said that Maxie was not guilty of anything. Maxie started hyperventilating. Mac picked her up and said that he was taking her to General Hospital. 3/20 At the police station, Dante was reviewing Sonny's file when Lulu called to tell him about the funeral and Maxie's meltdown. Dante refused to believe that Maxie had killed anyone. After Dante ended the call with his wife, John McBain entered the squad room. John introduced himself to Dante, and then explained that he was in Port Charles to discuss Sonny's murder charges. Dante realized that John had been the one to take Todd into custody, and then transfer Todd back to Llanview. John confirmed it, and then suggested that he and Dante review the evidence against Sonny. Dante immediately bristled, and demanded to know how it was any of John's business. John revealed that the victims were from his jurisdiction, and that Cole had been like a son to him. Dante was curious how Cole Thornhart had happened to be in Port Charles when it had been reported that Cole had been killed in Llanview. John argued that it didn't matter, but Dante suggested that John return to Llanview, because John's personal feelings would cloud the investigation. "And Corinthos being your father won't?" John asked. Dante resented the implication, so he clarified that Sonny hadn't raised him, and that he had only known about his connection to Sonny for a couple of years. John admitted that he knew about Dante's undercover work with the Corinthos organization, and the shooting. Dante was curious why John seemed so fascinated with Sonny, so John explained that he had once worked for the FBI, and that he had known Sonny back when Sonny had been a "two-bit hood running money through Atlantic City." Dante wondered what that had to do with the newest charges that Sonny was facing, so John asked how many loopholes Dante had left for Sonny's attorneys to secure an acquittal. Dante was offended, but John didn't care, because Cole had gone through a lot to be with Hope, not to die with her. Dante revealed that he had been at the scene of the accident, and that his brother, Michael, had tried to save Cole and Hope. John wanted to talk to Michael, but Dante warned John to stay away from Michael. Dante ordered John to go home, but John made it clear that he intended to stay in town, and to find someone who would be more cooperative than Dante. After John left, Dante decided to check online to find out what he could about John. Moments later, Maxie, Mac, and Spinelli arrived. Mac took Maxie into the interrogation room, while Spinelli filled Dante in on what was going on. 3/22 Dante led Maxie into the squad room. Mac wondered how Maxie had fared in lockup overnight. "How do you think?" Maxie asked. Mac warned her that things wouldn't improve, so he was curious if she were ready to admit that she hadn't killed Lisa. Maxie made it clear that she hadn't changed her mind, so Mac decided to get Maxie an attorney. Mac ordered Dante to take Maxie into the interrogation room, and then left. Spinelli wondered if it would be okay to stay with Maxie, so Dante agreed. Spinelli turned to Dante for help by asking Dante to find Anthony. Spinelli was certain that Anthony would be able to prove that Maxie wasn't guilty of Lisa's murder. Maxie warned Spinelli and Dante that they were wasting their time, because she had killed Lisa, and Anthony had helped her to cover it up. Dante knocked on the Zacchara penthouse door. "PCPD, open up," Dante demanded. Olivia marched over to the door, and then opened it. Johnny wanted to know what was going on, so Dante explained that he was searching for Anthony, because the investigation into Lisa Niles's death had been reopened. Johnny insisted that Anthony wasn't there, but Olivia claimed that she knew exactly where Anthony was. Johnny was startled when Olivia revealed that Anthony was at the Quartermaine mansion. Dante told his mother that he had already been at the Quartermaine mansion, so Johnny advised Dante to check again. Johnny added that Dante would need a warrant the next time that Dante returned to the penthouse, looking for Anthony. Dante offered to accompany his mother to the car, but Olivia explained that she needed to talk to Johnny. After Dante left, Johnny wondered why she had lied to her son. Olivia explained that she would keep quiet about Anthony in exchange for Johnny's promise to keep quiet about Steve. At the Floating Rib, Coleman's newly renamed bar, Coleman showed Luke a cardboard sign with the bar's new name emblazoned on it that Coleman intended to hang behind the bar. Luke wasn't impressed, but Coleman explained that it would have to do until the neon sign outside could be replaced. Luke smiled, and then held up a two-by-four board that Luke had used to destroy the sign in the parking lot. Coleman was not pleased, but he held his tongue, and then went to work designing a new sign for the bar. Moments later, Lulu walked in. Lulu was stunned that Luke would be in a bar on the anniversary of Jake's death. Luke assured her that he didn't need a reminder of the tragedy, and then argued that he hadn't been drunk when he had killed Jake. According to Luke, it had been a "totally random accident." However, he assured her that he was only drinking club soda. Lulu immediately relaxed, and then asked why he was at the bar. Luke explained that he had paid Coleman to change the name of the bar to the Floating Rib. Luke was certain that there were several people who would appreciate not seeing Jake's name on a big neon sign. Lulu was curious if that were the reason that Luke had sent her a text message. "No," Luke admitted, and then suggested that she brace herself, because he had news about Ethan. Lulu quickly demanded to know if her brother were alive. "Yes, and no," Luke cryptically answered. Luke confessed that Ethan was alive, but he wasn't her brother. Luke guided Lulu to a table, and then told her about Helena's threat, and Holly's timely confession. Lulu had a hard time wrapping her head around the revelation, so Luke told her not to try too hard, because it had been a lie. Lulu was confused, so Luke explained that they had allowed everyone to believe that Ethan was Robert's son, because it had been the only way to give Robert a reason to keep on living after Robin's tragic death. He cautioned Lulu not to tell anyone, including Dante. Luke explained that he needed to make certain that Anna didn't find out, because Anna might tell Robert before Robert was ready to hear the truth. Lulu warned Luke that Anna might resent him for keeping Robert from attending Robin's funeral. Luke reminded her that he was used to being hated, but Lulu argued that Luke might end up losing one of his oldest friends. 3/23 Elizabeth thanked Luke for the letter he’d sent her and for having set up the Jake Spencer Fund. She said she owed it to Jake to thank Luke in person. Liz noticed the handwritten sign hanging over the bar and asked what the Floating Rib was. Luke explained that he’d negotiated an agreement with Coleman to change the name of Jake’s to honor an old Port Charles institution. Luke didn’t want Elizabeth’s son’s memory to be sullied by an association with a dive bar. After Elizabeth left, Lulu assured Luke he’d done a good thing. Lulu followed Liz to the hospital and thanked her for being so gracious with Luke. Lulu asked what Elizabeth knew about Maxie’s confession. Liz said she didn’t believe Maxie was capable of murder. Dante shared with Sonny that McBain was looking for information on Sonny. Dvd #11B Sonny admitted he and McBain had a history. Something had gone down in Atlantic City years before, but Sonny wouldn’t give details. “McBain is bitter, and that’s that,” asserted Sonny. Dante replied that nothing was that simple. Dante worried that McBain was highly motivated, as Cole had been close to him. As Sonny left, Lulu arrived. She told Dante about the fund Luke had set up in Jake’s memory. “Well, I guess if it helped Elizabeth, it doesn’t really matter where that money came from, right?” Dante derisively asked. Olivia showed up and announced that she’d wrapped up her business at Johnny’s. She dropped off a box of cannoli and dashed off. Olivia’s appearance made Dante suspicious, but he had to concentrate on solving the case against Sonny. As Dante told Lulu he needed to find an eye witness to the crash that killed Cole and Hope, Anthony walked in. 3/26 At the Port Charles Police Station, Dante interrogated Anthony. Anthony said that the car wreck had been no accident. Anthony said that he did not remember how many shots had been fired or what had actually happened because everything had happened so fast. Anthony told Dante that it had been a miracle that he had walked away. Anthony said that he wanted police protection from Sonny. Dante asked if Anthony had any proof that it was Sonny who had fired the shots, because there was no evidence linking the gun they had found to Sonny. Dante said that the evidence was circumstantial and that it could be a setup. Anthony dropped his kindly old man act and said that Sonny had threatened him with a gun, and Tracy could verify that. Anthony said that Sonny had followed him to the airport. Anthony said that he had proof that Sonny had been after him because Anthony had seen Sonny pull the gun and shoot out his tires. Dante said it did not add up and questioned how Anthony could have seen Sonny on a pitch-black night with bright headlights in his eyes. Anthony said that he had good eyesight. Dante asked Anthony for his whereabouts on September 23rd when Dante had been shot in Sonny's warehouse. Dante said there were other cases to be solved, including who had shot Sonny in the Metro Court parking lot. Dante said that Johnny had pointed Dante in Anthony's direction. Anthony showed his mean streak and said that if there were any proof against him, Dante would arrest him. Dante asked what Anthony would do if Dante said he had seen Anthony shoot at Sonny, just like Anthony had said that he had seen Sonny. Anthony sputtered that he was not taking any more and that if Dante would not help him, he would find someone who would. Dante said that Anthony was not going anywhere. Anthony insisted that there was no proof and that attempted murder charges never stuck. Dante said that perhaps they did not, but that murder charges did. When Anthony asked what murder, Dante said that Maxie Jones had implicated Anthony in the murders that she had confessed to committing. Dante cuffed Anthony. 3/27 At the police station, Lulu greeted her husband, so Dante wondered how things were going with Maxie. Lulu admitted that Maxie hadn't changed her story. Lulu theorized that Maxie wanted to be punished for accidentally causing Robin's death, so Maxie had decided to confess to killing Lisa. Dante conceded that there had been a lot of unanswered questions surrounding Lisa's death, so he suspected that Maxie knew more about that fateful night than Maxie had let on. Dante was certain that was why Maxie had been able to spin things to make it appear that she had killed Lisa. Lulu was curious how they could prove that Maxie was lying. Dante insisted that they would need evidence that wouldn't end up disappearing like the pictures that he had taken of the crime scene where Delores had been attacked. Lulu confessed that she hoped that she had been wrong about Delores deleting them, and then asked if Dante thought that Delores could have tampered with evidence. Ronnie overheard Lulu's question, so he wondered what they had been talking about. Dante quickly filled Ronnie in about the missing pictures, and Lulu's theory that Delores had deleted them. Ronnie admitted that he'd always had a feeling that Delores had been holding something back. Ronnie suggested that perhaps Delores had been protecting her "deadbeat husband." Ronnie wondered if Lulu or Dante had ever met Eddie, so Lulu admitted that Eddie had cancelled plans with them at the last minute on the night that Delores had been attacked. Dante suggested that perhaps Eddie had roughed up Delores during an argument in the alley, which had prompted Delores to delete the pictures. Ronnie admitted that he'd seen it before in domestic violence cases, but Lulu doubted that Delores would cover up for an abusive husband. Ronnie wondered if perhaps Eddie had been responsible for the attacks on the dancers, so he decided to check into Eddie's background. After Ronnie left, Lulu wondered if it were possible that Eddie had attacked the strippers. Dante admitted that he didn't know, because he had never met Delores' husband. Moments later, Delores entered the squad room. Dante and Lulu immediately sensed that Delores was troubled; Delores was in a surly mood, but denied it, and then went about her work. 3/30 Lulu distracted Delores, while Dante and Ronnie consulted with Ewen to get a psychological profile on the person who'd been attacking the strippers. Ewen suggested that the attacker might have had military or police experience. "Could he have gotten this background in law enforcement from his wife?" Dante asked. Ewen suggested that it was a possibility and that the man might feel emasculated by his wife's position. Delores eluded Lulu and caught wind of the discussion Ronnie and Dante were having after Ewen had left. The men convinced Delores that they'd hit a dead- end, and Delores walked away. Ronnie offered to keep the file, because, as he put it, things had a habit of disappearing from Dante's desk. After Ronnie went back to his cubicle, Dante shared with Lulu that he didn't believe Delores would cover for her husband if she knew he'd been responsible for the attacks. Delores returned and mentioned that Dante was in a tough position, having evidence against his own father and having to testify against the man. She noted that Dante seemed anxious to clear Sonny, but Dante replied that he wanted the truth. Ronnie walked by as Delores walked away, and he said he had a bad feeling about her. When Dante and Lulu were alone, he told Lulu that the case against Sonny was all circumstantial, and that Sonny was not careless enough to have made so many mistakes, had he been covering his tracks. Lulu switched gears and asked if Dante thought Delores was covering for her husband. Dante hatched a plan to set up an undercover operation to find out. By herself, Delores photographed Sonny's file and sent the data to Johnny via text message. 4/4 At the police station, Lulu handed Dante the files on the stripper attacks. Lulu wondered if Dante hoped to find something that pointed to Delores' husband as the assailant, or if he hoped to exonerate Eddie for Delores' sake. Meanwhile, nearby, Delores was on the phone with her husband. She was concerned, because her husband had stayed out all night. Eddie gave his wife an excuse, but Delores appeared frustrated. She told him that they would talk about it when she got home, and then ended the call. Dante noticed Delores' foul mood when she sat down, so he wondered if she had been on the phone with Eddie. Delores complained that Eddie had worked the night shift on a construction project at the Port Charles History Museum. Dante noted that Eddie had been working nights, ever since Delores had transferred to the Port Charles Police Department. Delores explained that it was better money, and that Eddie wasn't really a people person, so he preferred to work the night shift. Moments later, Shawn and Ranelle entered the squad room, because Ranelle had been attacked. Dante and Delores guided Ranelle to a seat, and then questioned her about the attack. Ranelle told her story, and then revealed that she had managed to rip something off of her attacker. Ranelle handed Dante the item, which Dante promptly turned over to Lulu with instructions to have it logged into evidence, and then taken to forensics. Dante confided to his wife that it was a visitor's pass to the Port Charles History Museum. After Lulu left, Delores wondered what time Ranelle had been attacked. Ranelle revealed that it had been around two in the morning. Dante suggested that they have a forensics team scour the crime scene for clues, but Delores argued that too much time had passed, so too many people had trampled through the area. "What about your husband?" Dante asked. "What about him?" Delores wondered. Dante explained that the visitor's pass had been from the Port Charles History Museum, where Eddie worked. Delores explained that the project was a big job, but Dante pointed out that the night shift crew was small. Dante admitted that he wanted to ask Eddie a few questions, to see if Eddie might be able to give them a lead on who had attacked Ranelle. Delores made it clear that she would talk to her husband, no one else. Meanwhile, Lulu was on her way to the evidence room when Spinelli called out to her. Spinelli explained that he needed a favor. He wanted a copy of Lisa Niles's case file. A short time later, Lulu returned with the requested information on top of a box that she was carrying. Spinelli didn't want Lulu to get into trouble, but Lulu was confident that Mac wouldn't object to someone helping out Maxie. However, Lulu made it clear that she couldn't just hand over the file, but she couldn't stop Spinelli if he took it while Lulu was looking away. Lulu looked away for a moment, so Spinelli took the file, and then tucked it into his jacket. He thanked Lulu for her help, and then told her that she was a good friend. Spinelli vowed to find Lisa's killer, no matter who it turned out to be. Later, Dante promised Shawn that they would find the guy who had hurt Ranelle. Shawn decided to take Ranelle to the hospital, so Dante suggested that Delores go with them. After Delores left, Lulu was curious if Dante had any new information about the case. Dante confessed that Eddie appeared to be a more viable suspect by the second, but he needed to question Eddie without tipping off Delores. Lulu suggested that they needed someone on the inside to pose as a stripper to draw the attacker out. Lulu volunteered to do it, but Dante refused to consider it. 4/5 At the police station, Lulu tried to persuade Dante to go along with her plan for her to pose as a stripper so that they could lure Eddie into making a move. Lulu reminded Dante that Eddie had never met her, so Eddie would not know that she wasn't a dancer. Lulu pointed out that Dante would be shadowing her, so she would be safe. Dante argued that it wasn't necessary to go undercover, because Eddie was already a suspect. Lulu wondered how Dante planned for them to bust Eddie, so Dante carefully explained that Lulu was not a police officer, and therefore, would not be involved in the arrest. Later, Lulu informed Dante that she had arranged for an audition at Vaughn's. Dante was not pleased that she had ignored him, but he suggested having a female officer go to the audition. Lulu warned Dante that it would tip off Delores, but he reminded Lulu that Lulu wasn't a police officer. Later, Dante noticed that Lulu had decided to give him the silent treatment, so he confronted her about being mad at him. Lulu explained that she was disappointed, because she had been hoping that they could work together, instead of her being relegated to keeping the evidence room neat and tidy. Dante patiently reminded Lulu that she couldn't work an undercover operation, because Mac would not authorize it. Lulu agreed not to go undercover, and then stubbornly added, "This week." 4/12 The judge called the court to order, and then invited the prosecutor to make an opening statement. The prosecutor explained that there were three elements needed for a conviction: means, motive, and opportunity. The prosecutor insisted that Sonny had all three, that he had threatened Anthony, and that the gun, which had been used to shoot out Anthony's tires, had been found in Sonny's girlfriend's office. The prosecutor then pointed out that Sonny didn't have an alibi for the time of the shooting, so the prosecutor intended to prove that Sonny had caused the accident that had claimed the lives of Cole Thornhart and Cole's three year-old daughter, Hope. As the prosecutor spoke, Michael recalled Starr pleading with Michael to save Hope and Cole. After the prosecutor sat down, Alexis addressed the jury. Alexis admitted that she sympathized with Starr's loss, but Alexis insisted that convicting Sonny wouldn't lessen Starr's pain, because Sonny had not been responsible for the crash. Alexis explained that the prosecution's case was circumstantial, and that there wasn't a shred of proof that Sonny had shot out Anthony's tires. After Alexis returned to her seat, the judge invited the prosecutor to call his first witness. Dante was called to the stand. Dante testified about the events in the parking garage, when Sonny had taken a bullet for Dante. Dante then admitted that Sonny had left the parking garage, and then gone to the Zacchara penthouse. Dante confessed that Sonny had held Johnny at gunpoint, because Sonny had blamed Johnny for the shooting. Next, Johnny was called to testify. Johnny confirmed that Sonny had aimed a nine-millimeter semi-automatic gun at him. According to Johnny, Sonny had intended to use the gun. Starr was called to testify. Starr became emotional as she told the jury about her daughter and boyfriend had perished in a fiery explosion. After the prosecutor finished, Alexis asked Starr one simple question: had Starr seen Sonny shoot out the tires of Anthony's car? Starr was forced to admit that she had not, but she insisted that it didn't mean that Sonny hadn't done it. "But it doesn't mean that he did," Alexis gently pointed out. The prosecutor called Dante back to the stand to talk about the gun that had been found in Kate's office. Dante admitted that the serial number on the gun had been filed off, and that the fingerprints had been wiped clean. Alexis seized the opportunity to establish that anyone could have taken the elevator to Kate's office. Dante conceded that anyone could have accessed Kate's office, and that he did not have any proof that Sonny had hidden the gun there. 4/16 At the Port Charles Police Station, Ronnie, Dante, and Lulu discussed the ongoing investigation into the assaults on dancers. Lulu wanted to act as a decoy, but Dante said that Lulu was not a trained police person. Ronnie mentioned Eddie, Delores' husband, as she walked up. She told them that she had spoken to Eddie, and he knew nothing about the construction site badge that had been found near the latest victim. Ronnie and Dante wanted to talk to Eddie, but Delores became defensive when she realized that Eddie was a suspect. She asked how long they had been going behind her back to investigate her husband. Dante said that they were just going where the evidence took them. Delores said that they were insane and that she was not covering up for her husband. Ronnie said that there were too many coincidences and that they needed to talk to Eddie in person. Delores said that Eddie was working out of town. Dante said that Eddie always seemed to be out of town when one of the dancers got beaten up. A frustrated Delores said that she had nothing to hide. She flung a key at Dante and gave Ronnie and Dante permission to search her apartment. After the men left, Lulu tried to talk to her, but Delores told Lulu that she did not want to hear it and walked away. Later, Delores ordered Lulu to take a file back to the evidence room. Lulu said that she was sorry and did not want to believe that Delores was involved, but pointed out that Delores had been close by when all the photo evidence had mysteriously disappeared from Dante's phone. Delores said that Eddie had not hit her and had not beaten up the strippers. When Dante and Ronnie returned, Delores asked if they were there to apologize to her. Dante told her she might want to sit down. He showed her pictures of the girls who had been attacked and said that he and Ronnie had found them in the back of her closet. 4/17 At the police station, Dante showed Delores the evidence that he and Ronnie had found in the bedroom closet of Delores' home. Delores looked at the pictures of the dancers that had been attacked, and then informed Dante and Ronnie that she had never seen the photographs before. Moments later, Johnny Zacchara entered the squad room. Ronnie explained that they had called to let Johnny know that they had identified the person responsible for the attacks on the dancers from Vaughn's, and then showed Johnny the batch of pictures that had been found in Delores and Eddie's closet. Johnny confirmed that the photographs were of the women who had worked at Vaughn's, and that the pictures appeared to have been taken in the strip club. Delores insisted that the pictures didn't prove that Eddie had attacked the dancers. Ronnie snidely suggested that they did prove that Eddie had an unusual hobby. Lulu suggested that Ronnie ease up on Delores, but Ronnie ignored the advice. Meanwhile, Delores argued that the pictures only proved that Eddie had been at Vaughn's, if they were even Eddie's pictures. Ronnie reminded Delores of the crime scene photos that had been erased; he pointed out that they hadn't deleted themselves. Lulu clarified that she hadn't seen Delores delete the pictures from Dante's phone. Johnny chuckled, and then pointed out that it was no wonder the public lacked confidence in the police department. Dante made it clear that he didn't appreciate Johnny's commentary, and then reminded Johnny that Johnny was simply there to identify the photos. Delores continued to defend her husband by reminding Dante that she had been attacked too. Delores insisted that she would have known if her attacker had been her husband. Dante explained that they needed to follow the evidence, so Ronnie suggested that they find Eddie, so that they could question Delores' husband. Dante sent Ronnie to fetch Eddie, so Johnny quietly pulled Delores aside to let her know that she wouldn't do him any good in jail for tampering with evidence. Delores reminded Johnny that she had given him the information about Sonny that he had requested, so she expected Johnny to keep up his end of their bargain. Later, Delores confronted Lulu about accusing Delores of deleting the evidence pictures. Lulu pointed out that she had seen Delores hanging around the evidence room, so Delores explained that she had been in the evidence room, looking through cold case files, in the hopes of finding a pattern that would connect to her sister's unsolved murder to the attacks on the dancers. Lulu reminded Delores that Eddie hadn't shown up for their couples' night out on the night that Delores had been attacked, and that Delores and Eddie had been arguing. Delores pointed out that all married couples argued, including Lulu and Dante. Ronnie returned to the police station with Eddie in tow. Delores was upset when she saw her husband handcuffed, and then unceremoniously dumped into a chair. Lulu watched, as Delores approached Eddie. Eddie was outraged by the accusations against him. Delores tearfully assured her husband that she'd had no idea that they had been looking at Eddie as a suspect. Eddie assured Delores that he had not attacked the dancers, so Delores asked him about the pictures that had been found in their bedroom closet. Eddie had never seen the pictures, and had no idea how they had ended up there. Delores wondered why Eddie hadn't answered her calls on various nights. Eddie reminded his wife that she knew him, and that he had never laid a hand on her, or any other woman. Eddie realized that he hadn't been the husband that Delores had deserved, but he assured his wife that he loved her, and that he needed her to believe him. Delores promised Eddie that she loved him, and knew that he hadn't been responsible for the assaults. Ronnie returned to inform Eddie that Eddie would be booked on suspicion of multiple counts of battery. Delores was stunned that her husband would be arrested before forensics had returned with a report. Ronnie warned Delores that Delores was lucky that she wasn't being charged as an accessory. Delores advised her husband not to say anything until she found an attorney for him. After a police officer took Eddie for booking, with Delores trailing behind them, Ronnie admitted to Lulu that he couldn't believe that Delores would defend Eddie. Lulu explained that Delores believed that Eddie was innocent. "I'm not so sure she's wrong," Lulu confessed. Ronnie was stunned. He reminded Lulu that she had suspected Delores of deleting the crime scene pictures from Dante's cell phone, but Lulu clarified that she hadn't seen Delores do the deed. Ronnie was certain that Delores had deleted the pictures, and that Delores' husband was a freak. Lulu admitted that Eddie didn't seem guilty to her, so Ronnie argued that the evidence suggested otherwise. Everyone gathered at the courthouse to hear the jury's verdict in Sonny's trial. Dante and Jason sat behind Sonny to show him their support. The judge entered the courtroom, and then asked Sonny to rise. The jury's forewoman was then asked to read the verdict, which was not guilty and Sonny was free to go. Starr stood up, and then shouted that she knew that Sonny was guilty. At the police station, Dante told Lulu that Sonny had been found not guilty. Dante admitted that he was relieved, and that he believed that the jury had made the right decision. However, Dante realized that the gun had been planted, so they were missing a piece of the puzzle. 4/20 Ronnie and Dante showed up at Johnny's and questioned Johnny about black market human organs. They had apprehended two men who were trafficking the body parts and knew Johnny was involved. Ronnie noted that the two men they'd arrested seemed familiar to him. Johnny knew that they had no evidence that would prove he had anything to do with the crimes at the hospital and told them to leave. On the way out, Dante explained that, since Sonny had been acquitted, the investigation into Cole and Hope's deaths had been reopened. "Don't take any vacations out of the country," Dante suggested. Back at the police station, Ronnie worked hard to convince Dante that they'd apprehended the right man for the attacks on the dancers. Dante expressed that he was having doubts about Eddie's guilt. Dante said he had to get to Sonny's birthday party, and Ronnie showed his disapproval. Ronnie turned the conversation back to Eddie. Dante still wanted to continue the investigation. "Push comes to shove, we got each other's backs, like always," Ronnie vowed. Lulu visited Luke to ask for advice. She thought the police had arrested the wrong man for the string of attacks on female dancers. She believed Eddie, who'd said he hadn't beaten anyone. Lulu wondered whether Delores had been covering for someone else. Luke suggested Lulu speak to Dante, but Lulu said that she suspected that Ronnie might have been the attacker. Lulu reported that Ronnie had been there when Dante had taken crime scene photos, the ones that had ended up getting deleted from Dante's computer. Ronnie had become overly interested in the case around that time. Ronnie hadn't even been on the case, but he'd found a suspect, who had turned out to be innocent. That man had died shortly thereafter. The evidence that implicated Eddie had been found in a shoebox in Eddie's closet; it could have been planted there. Luke urged Lulu to tell Dante the truth. As Lulu made her way out, she noticed some of Anna's things, and Luke mentioned Anna was staying with him. Lulu asked whether Anna knew Luke had lied to Robert about Ethan being Robert's son. Lulu worried Anna would be even less understanding if she were to find out while she and Luke were living together. Lulu returned to the police station and looked up Ronnie's name on the police roster database. "You looking for something?" Ronnie asked, surprising Lulu. 4/23 At the PCPD, Lulu's suspicions about Ronnie caused her to check Ronnie's schedule on the nights when Vaughn’s dancers were attacked. Before she could find out anything, Ronnie appeared, and she got a call from Luke and walked away to take it. Luke asked if she had told her suspicions to Dante. Lulu said that she had not. Luke encouraged her to do it as soon as possible, and Lulu said that she would. When Lulu returned to the desk, Ronnie wanted to know why she was looking at the duty roster. Lulu told him that she wanted to see if Dante had the night off so that they could go home together. Ronnie said that Dante had already left for Sonny's party and that Dante had called Lulu about it. Lulu said that she had not checked her messages. Ronnie was very complimentary of Lulu's detective skills and praised her for her part in breaking the dancer assault case. Lulu was reluctant to take credit, but Ronnie enthused that even though Lulu might feel bad, Padilla had been using her badge to protect her dirtbag husband. Lulu said that she was not a cop and did not understand all the evidence. Ronnie listed all the reasons to believe that Eddie Padilla was guilty and again credited Lulu for observing that Padilla had been positioned to erase the evidence from Dante's phone. When Ronnie was called away to handle another case, Lulu went back to check the duty roster and found that Ronnie was off-duty when every assault had taken place. Michael and Dante ate canapés and talked. Michael asked if the perpetrator of the dancer attacks had been caught. Dante said that the police had a suspect in custody but could not place him at the scene of the attacks. Michael said that he just wanted justice for Abby's friends. Dante said that evidence was always subject to interpretation, and just like in Sonny's case, it might not mean that the person arrested was actually guilty. Michael noted that something had softened in Dante's attitude toward Sonny. Dante said that Sonny had saved his life, and even though that had softened his attitude toward his father, he would not turn a blind eye to Sonny's criminal activities. Dante asked Michael about his relationship to Starr. He wanted to know if Michael felt obligated to Starr because he had been unable to keep his promise to her that he would save Hope and Cole. Michael that he understood what Starr was going through. Michael said that Starr's dad was also on trial and that, unlike Michael, who had believed Sonny to be innocent, Starr believed that her father was guilty. Michael said that it was important to find who had really caused the accident. Michael believed that it had to be Johnny, even though Johnny had always been decent to Michael. Michael told Dante that it was important to nail Johnny quickly, before Carly became more involved with Johnny and got hurt by him. Dante found Olivia with Sonny and told them that an anonymous tip had allowed the PCPD to bust an organ transplant ring. While they talked, Dante got a call from the station. When Dante said that one of the traffickers had implicated Steve, Olivia insisted on accompanying Dante to the station. As soon as Dante arrived at the station with Olivia, Lulu wanted to talk to him, but Ronnie interrupted said that Dante needed to talk to the suspect that had implicated Steve. Ronnie also told Dante that he was off-duty and headed for home. Olivia got a frantic phone call from Heather. Lulu took Dante aside, but before she could tell him anything, Olivia was back saying that Memphis policemen were at the apartment arresting Steve. She demanded that Dante go with her to Steve's apartment, and he agreed. He told Lulu that he would meet her at home, and they would talk. Olivia left with Dante. Lulu grabbed her purse and also left the PCPD. As soon as Lulu walked out the front door of the station, Ronnie also exited and followed close behind her. 4/25 At Steve's apartment, Heather was upset because the Memphis police had arrested Steve for murder. Dante turned to Olivia for answers, butOlivia remained silent. Heather insisted that Steve was a good man, who would never harm anyone, so she was certain that Steve had been framed. Olivia tried to calm Heather down, but Heather grew increasingly agitated. Eventually, Olivia slapped Heather, and then ordered Heather to pull herself together. Meanwhile, Dante promised to look into the matter to find out exactly what was going on. Olivia suggested that Heather get some rest, but Heather argued that it was impossible to do while Steve was in trouble. Olivia promised to let Heather know as soon as they learned anything, so Heather reluctantly agreed to go to her room. Afterwards, Dante demanded answers from Olivia. He reminded her that the police didn't just arrest someone unless there was evidence. Dante wanted to know if Steve had killed someone in Memphis, so Olivia admitted, "No. And yes." Olivia and Dante were unaware that Heather lurked in the hallway, eavesdropping on their conversation. Olivia assured Dante that Steve wasn't a murderer, and then revealed the details about what had transpired in Memphis when Steve had been faced with a brain-dead prisoner on life support, and Maggie's patient, who had been in need of a heart transplant. Dante wondered if Olivia were trying to tell him that Steve had killed a patient, but Olivia insisted that Steve had saved a life. Olivia assured Dante that no one had asked questions, because only Steve and Maggie had known what had really happened. However, Johnny Zacchara had somehow unearthed the secret, so Johnny had used the information to blackmail Steve. Dante realized that Johnny had arranged for Steve to be named in the black market organ-selling ring, after Sonny had anonymously tipped off the police to Johnny's illegal activity at the hospital. Dante called the Memphis police to find out what was going on with Steve. After he ended the call, Dante confirmed that Steve was in custody, so Dante intended to go to Memphis to see if he could help. Olivia wanted to go with her son, but Dante urged her to call Alexis, and to keep an eye on Heather. Dante warned Olivia that if Heather were a loose cannon, as Olivia suspected, it wouldn't help Steve's case if Heather got involved. "We'll see about that," Heather muttered to herself. Later, Dante called Lulu to leave her a message, explaining that he had to go to Memphis. 4/27 At the Port Charles Police Station, Dante tried to locate Lulu but had no luck getting her by phone. Ronnie showed little concern when Dante asked if Ronnie had seen Lulu. Dante said that Lulu had wanted to talk about Eddie's arrest for the dancer assaults and had another suspect in mind. Ronnie said that Lulu was not a cop and was probably swayed by Delores' belief in her husband. Ronnie said that Lulu had no proof against anyone else and added that the police had lots of evidence against Eddie. Ronnie said that Lulu was off-base. When Dante expressed more worry, Ronnie said that Lulu was probably at the courthouse with Maxie and had turned off her phone. Dante was relieved by that suggestion and left in search of Lulu. Outside the station, Dante tried to phone Lulu again. Inside, Ronnie looked at a pink phone and an incoming call from Dante. Luke got a phone call from Dante, who was concerned about Lulu. Luke told Dante about his conversation with Lulu the previous day and asked Dante if Lulu had shared her suspicions. When Dante said that he and Lulu had not had time to talk about the case, Luke told him that Lulu had suspected that Ronnie was the real culprit. Luke asked if Lulu could be correct, if Ronnie was the one attacking the dancers. After Luke hung up, Tracy asked if Lulu was okay. Luke said that Lulu might have gotten into something that she could not get out of. Dante confronted Ronnie. Ronnie tried to make jokes about Lulu's disappearance, but Dante was seriously worried and did not take kindly to Ronnie's cavalier attitude. Ronnie tried to make nice. When Dante asked when Ronnie had last seen Lulu, Ronnie lied and said that it had been in the station house, just before Ronnie left for home the previous day. Dante looked Ronnie in the eyes and said that he had known Ronnie for a long time and could tell when Ronnie was lying. Dante accused Ronnie of lying about Lulu and demanded to know what had happened to her. 4/30 Dante confronted Ronnie about Lulu's whereabouts. Ronnie insisted that he knew nothing and tried to make a joke of it, but Dante got increasingly upset as he accused Ronnie of lying, framing Padilla's husband and committing the assaults on the dancers. Dante let all his suspicions pour out and grabbed Ronnie by the throat. Ronnie turned the tables on Dante and accused him of being a dirty cop, framing Eddie and of being the perpetrator of the assaults. When another officer arrived to break up the fight, Ronnie said that he had proof of Dante's guilt. The officer looked in Ronnie's desk drawer, found a photo and a pair of boots, which Ronnie claimed were Dante's. The officer handcuffed Dante to a desk and went to find an Internal Affairs officer. He left Ronnie to watch Dante. Ronnie taunted Dante and admitted that he was guilty and had framed Dante because Dante was starting to get suspicious of Ronnie. He gloated that IA would put Dante in prison. Ronnie walked out. He left Dante struggling and screaming that Dante would not rest if Ronnie hurt Lulu. 5/3 At Metro Court, Luke was worried about Lulu, so Anna reminded him that his daughter was resourceful. Luke felt like a failure, because he had sent his daughter in the wrong direction. Luke's mind raced to every horrible possibility if Lulu ended up in harm's way. Anna warned Luke that he couldn't afford to let himself go there. Luke was immediately contrite, because he realized that he had inadvertently reminded Anna of her own regrets regarding Robin. Anna assured Luke that she was fine, and then pointed out that Lulu's situation was different. Luke agreed, but he had a history of not being there for his children, so they had learned not to expect anything from him. Anna and Luke talked about Ethan's and Lucky's decisions to leave town. Luke admitted that he had pushed Lucky away, because Luke hadn't been ready to be forgiven for Jake's death. Anna suggested that Luke had underestimated Lucky, because Lucky knew exactly the kind of man that Luke was. Anna's pep talk renewed Luke's determination to find Lulu. Anna agreed to help Luke, so she pulled out her phone to make some calls. Luke warned her not to call the local police, because they had believed Ronnie's lies. Anna decided to reach out to someone else. At the police station, Dante desperately tried to explain to a fellow police officer that Ronnie had framed Dante for attacking the dancers. Dante then accused Ronnie of snatching Lulu, so he begged to be released from custody. The police officer insisted that Dante would have to wait until Internal Affairs had sorted things out. After the police officer left, Delores walked up to Dante's jail cell. Dante pleaded with her to help him, but Delores had little sympathy for Dante's plight, because Dante had been ready to send Eddie to jail. Dante revealed that Lulu had grown suspicious about Ronnie, so Lulu had turned to Luke for advice. According to Dante, Lulu had disappeared after she had left Luke's hotel suite. Dante quickly filled Delores in on what had transpired in the squad room, when Ronnie had falsely accused Dante of attacking the dancers. Dante assured Delores that he would never harm a woman, so Delores pointed out that she had said the same thing about Eddie, but Dante hadn't believed her. Dante apologized, and then admitted that he wouldn't be able to live with himself if something happened to Lulu. Delores softened, and then unlocked the jail cell. However, she warned him that she'd shoot him herself if she found out that Dante had lied to her. Dante and Delores raced to a computer to get the GPS signal on Lulu's phone. Dante was relieved when the cell phone suddenly turned on, because he was able to pinpoint its location. In an undisclosed motel room, Ronnie had Lulu bound and gagged on a bed. He claimed that she hadn't given him a choice. He noticed her eyes drift to the door, so he smiled wickedly, as he explained that Dante would not be rescuing her. Ronnie revealed that Dante had been arrested for attacking the dancers. Lulu spoke over her gag, warning Ronnie that the police would soon figure out that Ronnie had lied. Lulu tried to scream for help, but Ronnie warned that she wasn't in any position to anger him, so he advised her to be quiet. Ronnie was livid, because he had planned for Eddie to be blamed for the attacks, until Lulu had decided to "play" detective. Ronnie needed to clear his head, so put on a cartoon to keep Lulu busy, and then went to take a shower. Lulu used her feet to scooch the remote close enough to turn up the volume on the television. Moments later, Ronnie ran into the room with a towel wrapped around his hips. He was furious, because he realized that Lulu had intended to draw someone to the door. John McBain knocked on the door. Ronnie and John had never met, so they didn't recognize each other. John asked Ronnie to turn the volume on the television down, because there was a pregnant woman in a nearby room who needed her rest. Ronnie snidely informed John, "I didn't knock her up," and then tried to close the door. John used his foot to keep the door from closing. John ordered Ronnie to turn the volume down, but Ronnie threatened to put a hole in John's foot if John didn't move it. John decided to back away, so Ronnie slammed the door shut. Later, Anna and Luke greeted John in the lobby. They quickly filled him in on what had happened with Lulu. John agreed to help them find Lulu, so Anna sent John a picture of Ronnie, and then went to the police station with Luke. John looked at the picture and realized that Ronnie was the belligerent man at the motel. At the police station, Luke and Anna were startled to discover that Dante was not in any of the jail cells. Delores approached to inform them that they were in a restricted area. Luke didn't care; he wanted to know where Dante was. In the motel room, Ronnie scolded Lulu for turning up the television. He warned her not to pull another stunt, and then returned to the bathroom to get dressed. Afterwards, Ronnie decided to see the manager, in an attempt to do damage control in case anyone had complained. Lulu spotted her cell phone on the bed, so she watched Ronnie leave, and then immediately used her feet to draw it close enough to get her hands on it. Lulu managed to turn the cell phone on, but then dropped it out of reach, before she could call anyone. In the hallway, Ronnie and Sam were startled when they bumped into each other. Ronnie remarked that it appeared that Sam and Jason's honeymoon was over, "and with a bun in the oven, no less." Sam ignored the callous comment, and asked if Ronnie were there because of the noise complaint. Ronnie assured her that he had taken care of it, but Sam heard a loud thump in the room. She urged Ronnie to check it out, but he dismissed it. Sam decided that she would investigate, so Ronnie grabbed her arm, and then in a menacing tone told her, "I'm afraid I can't let you do that." A short time later, John returned to the motel. He drew his gun as he approached the door, but stopped when Dante suddenly rounded the corner. Dante made it clear that he was there to save Lulu, so John and Dante quietly crept to the door. Dante kicked in the door, and then followed John into the room. 5/4 Dante and John gathered evidence in the room where Ronnie had held Lulu. John offered to help Dante find her. John found evidence that led him to believe Ronnie had taken Sam as a second hostage. John suggested that, with two hostages, Ronnie would not likely have gotten far. John noticed a matchbook from the Haunted Star and asked if Dante was familiar with it. Dante explained it was a casino on a yacht that belonged to Lulu's father. Dante noticed that Lulu's keys were missing, and she'd have to have them to get into the casino. Dante wanted to call Jason to have him meet them there, but John stated that Jason didn't belong there, because he wasn't a cop. At the Haunted Star, Ronnie had Sam and Lulu tied up. He taunted them, telling them they were powerless. Lulu told him that having kidnapped a cop's wife and the wife of a mob enforcer ensured that he'd end up with a bullet between his eyes. Sam told Ronnie that John, an ex-CIA agent, knew she was missing. Sam and Lulu suggested that Ronnie leave town. Ronnie said he didn't have a choice -- he'd have to kill them. Sam carefully worked one hand free of its bonds. Dante and John arrived and observed from outside the main room.5/7 On the Haunted Star outside the room where Ronnie was holding Sam and Lulu hostage, Dante and John McBain made a plan to capture Ronnie. Inside the casino room, Ronnie held a gun on Lulu who was tied hand and foot, and Sam who was tied up and also handcuffed to a rail. As Ronnie prepared to shoot them, he blamed Lulu for sticking her nose in where it did not belong. Before Ronnie could shoot, Lulu distracted him by asking why he had attacked the dancers. Dante burst in and said he also wanted to know the answer to that question. Dante told Ronnie to drop his gun, but Ronnie told Dante that the only way that Dante could save Lulu was to drop his gun. When Dante put his gun on the floor, Sam noticed that John had circled around and was hiding behind a curtain at the main entrance to the room. Dante told Ronnie that he could not get away with killing three people because too many others knew that Lulu was missing and that Ronnie was the perpetrator. Dante told Ronnie to let the women go and to take Dante as the hostage instead. Ronnie refused and said he would kill all three if it took that to make sure that he stayed free. Dante asked what had happened to Ronnie, whom Dante had know and admired all his life. When Dante said that Ronnie had had a good life, Ronnie angrily replied that Dante had had the good life. Ronnie was bitter when he said that his wife had turned out to be a whore who would sleep with anyone, just like the dancers that Ronnie had attacked. Dante told Ronnie that he would get him help. Ronnie said that there was no help because Ronnie had framed and later killed a man named Donofrio for the attacks. Ronnie blamed Padilla and Dante, who had not let the attacks rest, for uncovering Donofrio's alibi and clearing him as a suspect. Ronnie also blamed Dante because he had found the footprints in the alley and had taken his cell phone, which contained the pictures of the footprints, to Sonny's party. Dante realized that Ronnie, not one of the Zaccharas, had tried to kill him in the parking garage on the night of Sonny's party because Dante had been getting too close to the truth.Dante asked Ronnie if he was aware of the events that had been set in motion when Dante's father had taken the bullet meant for Dante. Ronnie jumped on the word, "father," and wondered what had happened to "Sonny, the murdering bastard" whom Dante was supposed to put in prison. Dante said that Ronnie was the reason that Sonny had gone after Anthony, and Ronnie was the one responsible for the deaths of Hope and Cole. Ronnie said that Dante had just proved why there was no way out for Ronnie. Dante said that Ronnie could go for an insanity plea, but Ronnie said there was no way he was going to end up in Ferncliff. While Dante distracted Ronnie, Lulu and Sam managed to untie their bonds. Before they could get away, Lulu made a noise, and Ronnie turned and fired at her. John emerged from hiding and fired at Ronnie. Dante rushed to protect Sam and Lulu, who had been grazed by Ronnie's first shot. As Ronnie and John exchanged gunfire, Dante was able to get Lulu out of the Haunted Star, but Sam was still handcuffed, and Ronnie grabbed her. John told him that Dante would call the cops, who would be there in a few minutes. Ronnie scoffed and said that Dante would not call anyone because he had escaped from lockup and was a fugitive himself. Ronnie pointed at Sam's baby bump and asked if John wanted to be responsible for the death of two hostages. Sam begged Ronnie to spare her baby, but Ronnie kept the gun at her head. Sam said that she was feeling sick. When she suddenly dropped to her knees, John shot Ronnie. Dante arrived with Lulu, who had been grazed on the arm by a bullet. When Jason asked what had happened, Dante said that Ronnie was still holding Sam hostage on the Haunted Star. Jason rushed out. Dante wanted a doctor, but Lulu said her injury was just a scratch. He wanted to know how Lulu could be so calm. She said it was because she had been much more frightened a few hours earlier and by comparison, it was not serious. Lulu said that Ronnie had not thought things through and had acted on impulse when he had grabbed her. Dante said he should have protected Lulu better. Lulu said that she should have protected herself better. She said that Luke had warned her to stay away from Ronnie and that she had been texting and not paying attention to her surroundings when she had walked to the parking lot, which had given Ronnie an opportunity to grab her. Dante said that she must have been scared. Lulu said that mostly she was furious and that she had just tried to stall Ronnie as long as she could because she knew that Dante would eventually rescue her.Elizabeth joined them in the observation bay and said that a doctor would be there soon. She said that she could not believe that a cop had shot Lulu. Dante said that Sam had been captured also, and Dante would have rescued her, too, but she was handcuffed to a rail, and John McBain was taking care of freeing her. 5/8 At the hospital, Elizabeth was stunned when Lulu and Dante told her about what had happened at the Haunted Star. Dante prayed that John knew what he was doing, and that Sam would be okay. Lulu reminded Dante that John was a former FBI agent, so she was certain that John had the situation well in hand. However, Lulu realized that Dante was worried, so she urged him to return to the casino, while she called her dad. Luke and Anna entered the examination bay. Luke was relieved to see that Lulu was unharmed, except for a scratch on her arm. Elizabeth noticed Anna watching Luke and Lulu, so she followed Anna out of the examination bay. Luke was frustrated because Lulu hadn't followed his advice. However, he was proud that Lulu had handled herself like a true Spencer. Lulu assured her father that she had learned her lesson, and then credited Dante and John with saving her life. Dante insisted that Delores deserved some of the credit, because he would have still been in lockup if Delores hadn't helped.Lulu was concerned about her husband, because she knew that Dante and Ronnie had been close. Dante admitted that it hurt knowing that Ronnie had done despicable things, including shooting Dante in the parking garage at Metro Court. Luke perked up, and quickly advised Dante to let Sonny know, because it might stop things from escalating between the Corinthos and Zacchara organizations.Dante received a text informing him that he had been reinstated to the police force, and notifying Dante of Ronnie's death. After Luke left, Delores stopped by the hospital to check in on Lulu and Dante. Lulu apologized for suspecting Eddie of the attacks. Delores pointed out that Ronnie had manipulated Lulu and taken steps to frame Eddie. Delores appreciated that Lulu had been open-minded enough to realize that she had been wrong, so Delores had decided to return the favor by giving Dante the benefit of the doubt when Dante had claimed to Ronnie had set him up. After Delores left, Dante hugged his wife. Lulu insisted that Dante was her hero, but Dante argued that Lulu was the true hero, because Lulu had solved the case. 5/11 Luke arrived at the hospital with food for Lulu, but he was disappointed to discover that her hospital room was empty. Dante appeared in the doorway, and revealed that Lulu had checked out earlier without telling anyone. Luke suggested that perhaps Lulu had needed some time to be alone, but Dante refused to take any risks after what had happened with Ronnie. Luke spotted a book of matches on the bed, so he tossed them to Dante. Luke suspected that Lulu had gone to the "scene of the crime." At the Haunted Star, Lulu entered the casino, and then slowly walked around. The casino was littered with crime scene tape and a bloodstain on the floor. Lulu crouched down, and then stared at the pool of blood. A short time later, Luke and Dante entered. The men were relieved to have found her. Lulu assured her husband and father that she was fine, but Dante was skeptical. Lulu explained that she had dropped by the Haunted Star to make an assessment of the damage before she filed an insurance claim. Dante insisted that it could wait; he wanted her to go home with him. Lulu smiled at her husband, and assured him that she would go home when she was ready. Lulu then changed the subject by asking if Dante had told Sonny about Ronnie's confession. Dante hadn't gotten around to it, so Lulu insisted that Dante go to Sonny before a mob war broke out. Luke realized that Lulu wanted Dante to leave, so he urged Dante to heed Lulu's advice. Dante realized that he was outnumbered, so he told Lulu that he loved her, and then left. Luke waited until they were alone before he asked Lulu what was really going on. Lulu tried to brush it off, but Luke warned her not to let Ronnie win by changing her. Lulu confessed that it was too late; she had been changed the moment that Ronnie had pointed a gun in her face. Lulu confessed that she had never felt more alive. Lulu assured her father that she didn't have a desire to be shot, but the threat of impeding death had made her see things clearly. Lulu had realized what she had been missing from her life. She had learned that she could think under pressure and act in a crisis, like Luke. Lulu claimed that all of her life, her identity had been limited to her being Luke and Laura's daughter, and that she had felt incomplete until she had faced death. Luke admitted that he had the same gene, so he knew what she was talking about. However, he was curious what Lulu intended to do about the new insight. Lulu promised not to get herself kidnapped again, and then jokingly suggested that it wasn't too late to join the police academy. Luke groaned, because one police officer in the family was enough. Lulu chuckled, but Luke warned Lulu that the danger could be as addictive as any of Lucky's drugs, so she needed to be careful. Luke advised her to set her mind on something, and then promised her that the danger would follow, because it was the Spencer way. At Greystone Manor, Dante told his father about what had happened at the Haunted Star, and Ronnie's confession that Ronnie had shot at Dante in Metro Court's parking garage. Sonny could tell that Dante was troubled, so Dante admitted that he feared Lulu had been traumatized by what had transpired in the casino. Dante felt responsible for what Ronnie had done, but Sonny insisted that Dante wasn't to blame. Sonny urged Dante to move forward, because Dante had a lot to be grateful for.5/21 At Crimson, Dante kicked open the door to Kate's office and told the person seated behind Kate's desk to freeze. Lulu quickly assured Dante that it was okay, so he flipped on the lights. Lulu was curious what Dante was doing there, so Dante explained that security had called when someone had tripped the silent alarm.
Lulu revealed that she had been forced to break into the office, because Kate had changed the locks. She pointed out that it was safe for Dante to put the gun away, so Dante sheepishly apologized, and then holstered his gun. Lulu admitted that it had been exciting, not frightening, to see Dante in action. Dante was curious why Lulu was in Kate's office, so Lulu explained that the printer had called her, looking for someone to approve the cover for the next edition of Crimson, because Kate and Maxie hadn't been available.
Dante reminded Lulu that she no longer worked for the magazine but Lulu shrugged, and then held up the photo that she had selected, featuring a model with a black and white striped blouse. "I was thinking of going with horizontal stripes, but do you think it's in poor taste, considering that most of the office is modeling this look?" Lulu asked. Lulu realized that it didn't matter, because she suspected that Kate would freak out, regardless of what Lulu chose.
Lulu admitted that she had difficulty believing that Kate had attacked Dr. Keenan. Dante confided that it made him wonder if perhaps Kate had been responsible for shooting out Anthony's tires. Lulu pointed out that there was a big difference between hitting someone over the head and speeding down a winding road at night while skillfully shooting out two tires.
Dante suggested that Kate might have some hidden talents. Lulu argued that Kate loved Sonny, so it didn't make sense that Kate would frame him. Dante reminded her that he had to investigate all possible angles. Lulu was curious if Dante had any other leads on the shooting, so Dante revealed that Johnny was the prime suspect, because Johnny had the strongest motive and the means to kill Anthony.
Lulu doubted that Johnny had changed that much since she had dated him, but Dante pointed out that Johnny was "messed up" and that Johnny's hatred for Sonny had poisoned the young Zacchara. Lulu suggested that perhaps Sonny had influenced Dante's view of Johnny, because Carly had spent the night with Johnny on the night of the shooting. Dante suggested that alibis were like any other story, sometimes they were true, and sometimes they were not.
5/23 At the police station, Dante talked to Mac about following up on who had shot out Anthony's tires. Dante explained that Johnny was the prime suspect, but Kate couldn't be ruled out, because the gun had been found in her office. However, Dante revealed that Kate had been transferred to Shadybrook during the night, after Kate had suffered a complete breakdown. Mac instructed Dante to focus on Johnny, so Dante left to question Johnny about the shooting.
Johnny tried to ignore Dante’s knocking, but Dante warned Johnny that Dante would have probable cause for entering if Johnny didn't open the door. Reluctantly, Johnny went to the door to find out what Dante wanted. Dante was curious why Johnny refused to invite him in. "A little thing called the fourth amendment," Johnny replied.
Dante explained that he had a few questions about the night that Anthony's tires had been shot out. Johnny argued that he had an alibi, so he advised Dante to question Kate, since the gun had been found in her office. After Johnny slammed the door in Dante's face, Anthony smiled with satisfaction, because Connie clearly hadn't confessed to the police.
Anthony warned Johnny that Johnny would end up going down for three murders. Johnny tried to figure out how to get rid of Anthony's body. Moments later, Anthony received a text message from Tracy, asking Anthony to meet her at the boathouse.
At the police station, Dante stopped by Mac's office to update Mac on what had transpired at Johnny's penthouse. Dante was shocked when Mac revealed that Mayor Lomax had fired Mac because Cole and Hope's family had wanted the case solved. Mac advised Dante to be careful, because Mac's replacement might have reservations about Dante's connection to Sonny.
Dante insisted that he would never use his badge to protect Sonny. Mac believed him, but the new police commissioner might not. Dante offered to talk to Mayor Lomax, but Mac insisted that it wasn't necessary, because Mac didn't want to work where he wasn't wanted.
5/30 At the police station, Dante was curious where Delores had been. Delores explained that she had gone to the Quartermaine estate to follow up on the report of gunshots. Delores revealed that no one had seen or heard anything, but she had found some blood in the boathouse, so she was waiting for the lab results on the blood.
Dante invited her to go on a field trip with him to execute a search warrant at Johnny Zacchara's penthouse. Dante explained that Johnny was the prime suspect in shooting out Anthony's tires. Delores reminded Dante that Johnny had an alibi, but Dante argued that Carly lied more than anyone he knew, so she could not be trusted.
At the Zacchara penthouse, Johnny was frustrated because he hadn't been notified of Anthony's murder, even though Johnny had taken steps to frame Luke and Tracy. Anthony's "ghost" suggested that, no matter how well something was planned, a person couldn't account for the element of surprise. Anthony taunted Johnny by accusing Johnny of always screwing up, like the night that Johnny had shot out Anthony's tires.
Johnny shouted for his grandfather to shut up. "Or what? You'll kill me again?" Anthony asked. Johnny was confident that Luke and Tracy were the perfect scapegoats, but Anthony doubted that murder charges would stick, because Johnny had killed Anthony.
Dante knocked on the door. Johnny smiled with relief when Dante revealed that Dante and Delores were there regarding Anthony. Johnny's relief turned to confusion when Delores began to search the penthouse. Dante explained that they had a warrant to look for possible evidence that might tie Johnny to the shooting that had led to Cole and Hope's deaths. Johnny claimed that he had nothing to hide, and then quickly suggested that Dante talk to Luke and Tracy.
Dante was curious why Johnny no longer suspected Sonny of shooting out Anthony's tires, so Johnny explained that Anthony had turned to Johnny for help recently, because Luke and Tracy had made several attempts on Anthony's life.
Delores found Anthony's cell phone. Dante wondered why Anthony's cell phone was there. Johnny claimed that Anthony had probably dropped it, because Anthony had left in a hurry after Anthony had received a text message. Dante checked the cell phone's text messages, which revealed that Tracy had sent Anthony a text message asking for Anthony to meet her at the boathouse.
Delores reminded Dante of the blood that she had found in the boathouse. Johnny immediately seized the opportunity to accuse Tracy of killing Anthony, but Delores revealed that she had seen Anthony on the patio. Johnny was stunned, until Delores admitted that Anthony had been asleep. Moments later, the lab called to confirm that the blood in the boathouse had belonged to Anthony.
After Dante and Delores left, Anthony warned Johnny that the police would quickly rule Luke and Tracy out as suspects, because Johnny had killed Anthony.
At the boathouse, Tracy and Luke wondered what had happened to Anthony's body. Tracy suggested that perhaps Anthony hadn't been dead, but Luke assured her that was not the case.
Luke still had the gun to dispose of. Luke decided to wipe the fingerprints off of the gun, and toss it into the water. However, Dante and Delores arrived. Dante announced that Tracy and Luke were under arrest for suspicion of foul play in the disappearance of Anthony Zacchara.
5/31 At the police station, Tracy was outraged that she and Luke had been arrested. Lulu tried to get to the bottom of things, so Delores explained that someone had reported hearing gunshots on the Quartermaine estate. Lulu found that odd, since none of the neighbors lived close enough to the estate to hear gunfire, if someone had actually fired a gun.
Delores insisted that they had been obligated to look into the matter, which had led to the discovery of a small pool of blood in the boathouse. Dante added that Johnny Zacchara had implicated Luke and Tracy in foul play, because Anthony had claimed that Luke and Tracy had made several attempts on Anthony's life. Tracy insisted that she could easily clear everything up, but Luke cautioned Tracy not to say anything.
Tracy ignored Luke, as she adamantly denied killing Anthony, and then reminded Delores that Delores had seen Anthony, alive and well, sipping tea on the terrace. Delores argued that Anthony had supposedly been sleeping, but he could have just as likely been dead. Tracy claimed that Anthony had a drinking problem, so he had passed out.
Dante was curious what Luke had been doing hanging out with Tracy and her new husband. Tracy assured Dante that it had been perfectly innocent, so Dante wondered why Luke and Tracy had been found trying to toss a gun into the water. Tracy claimed that the gun had belonged to Anthony, and that she had found it in the boathouse, so she had called Luke to get rid of it, because she had an aversion to guns.
Dante decided to have ballistics check the gun, so Delores offered to take care of it. Lulu approached her husband to have a private word with Dante. Lulu insisted that her father wasn't a murderer or foolish enough to be caught with a gun if he had killed someone. Dante believed Lulu, but he was certain that Tracy had been lying.
Meanwhile, Luke warned Tracy to stop talking, because her desperate denials made them both look guilty. Tracy reminded Luke that they hadn't killed Anthony, so she suggested that they simply tell Dante the truth. Luke wondered if Tracy intended to tell Dante about how Tracy had tried to kill Anthony, Luke's plan to ship Anthony to Uruguay, and their attempts to hide Anthony's body. Tracy realized that Luke had a point. Luke suggested that they both keep quiet until they contacted an attorney.
Dante returned with the ballistics' report, which had revealed that the gun had recently been fired. Dante also explained that they had found a partial print on the gun. Tracy pointed out that she and Luke had touched the gun, so naturally their prints would have been on the gun.
However, Tracy assured Dante and Lulu that it didn't mean that Tracy and Luke had killed Anthony. Dante confronted Tracy with the text message that she had sent, asking Anthony to meet her at the boathouse. Initially, Tracy pretended that she had no idea what Dante was talking about, but then he showed her Anthony's cell phone.
Tracy laughed, and then began to nervously babble. Luke warned Tracy not to say another word. Dante suggested that things would go quickly if Luke and Tracy cooperated, but Luke insisted that they had the right to be represented by an attorney. Dante decided to book Luke and Tracy. Delores led a sputtering Tracy away to be processed, while Lulu waited for Dante to step away, so that she could demand answers from her father.
In Anthony's car, Heather navigated through the rain while she chatted with Anthony, who was strapped into the passenger seat. Heather was certain that Tracy had been responsible for Anthony's untimely demise, but Heather didn't want Luke to get into trouble, so Heather had decided to get rid of Anthony's body.
6/1 In a driving rainstorm, Heather made plans to bury Anthony's body. She found a shed in the woods and began to fantasize that Luke thanked her for having hidden the evidence that set him free, and she dreamed that they became lovers. Heather snapped out of it when she found a shovel and wheelbarrow.
At the police station, Lulu grilled Luke about his involvement in Anthony's disappearance. Luke let it slip that Anthony was dead. Luke and Lulu both worried that Tracy's story would not hold up. Lulu offered to help.
Luke told Lulu the truth but made her promise to proceed as he dictated. He admitted that he and Tracy had conspired to get rid of Anthony but that they hadn't gone through with it. They'd found Anthony's body after someone else had killed him, but the body had disappeared not long after. Lulu urged Luke to tell Dante the truth. Luke refused. He had to find out who was framing Tracy first.
Dante let Johnny know that Tracy would be charged with improper disposal of a firearm. Johnny accused Dante of treating the case less seriously, since Dante's father-in-law was involved. Dante asked Johnny, "If you killed Anthony, where would you dump the remains?"
Johnny exclaimed that Dante was being insensitive. Dante found Johnny's reaction remarkable, given that Johnny hated Anthony. Johnny explained that, as much as he couldn't stand Anthony, he still loved him.
6/7 At the police station, Heather demanded to see Luke. She claimed that it was a matter of life or death, but Dante wasn't swayed. He insisted that Luke couldn't have any visitors, so Heather wondered how Luke could have been arrested for murder without a body. Dante calmly explained that there had been sufficient evidence to implicate Luke and Tracy. Heather defended Luke by pointing the finger of guilt at Tracy.
Matt entered the squad room and asked to speak to Dante. Heather informed Matt that Dante was busy, but Matt insisted that what he had to say couldn't wait. Exasperated, Heather wondered how long it would take. Dante insisted that it didn't matter, because Heather wouldn't get to see Luke. Heather suggested that Dante should release Luke if Dante truly cared about justice. After Heather stormed out, Matt bluntly confessed that he had killed Lisa Niles.
Dante was confused, because he knew that Matt had married Maxie to avoid facing charges for killing Lisa. Maxie entered the squad room in time to hear Dante's remark. She too wondered what Matt was doing. Dante decided to give Matt and Maxie some time to talk.
6/12 At the Floating Rib, Luke called Lulu to find out what Anna's mood was like. Lulu didn't know, because Lulu had taken the day off from work to avoid lying to Dante. However, Lulu imagined that Anna wasn't happy about Anthony's disappearance. Luke insisted that what Dante didn't know wouldn't hurt Dante, Luke, or Tracy.
Lulu changed the subject by revealing that someone might be interested in buying the Haunted Star. Luke offered to join Lulu when she met with the buyer, but Lulu assured her father she had everything well in hand.
Johnny dropped by the Haunted Star. Lulu warned Johnny that the casino wasn't open for business. Johnny was hurt that Lulu didn't have time for an old friend. "Not if he's looking for trouble," Lulu warned him. Johnny explained that he simply wanted his grandfather's body to be found, so that Johnny could give Anthony a proper burial. Lulu was surprised that Johnny expected the worst.
Johnny explained that Anthony had accused Luke and Tracy of plotting to kill Anthony. Lulu insisted that her father was not a murderer. Johnny appreciated that Lulu wanted to believe the best about Luke, but Johnny knew better. Lulu assured Johnny that Luke hadn't killed Anthony, prompting Johnny to wonder what Lulu knew. Lulu refused to tell Johnny about Luke's admission that Anthony was dead, so she suggested that Johnny let the police handle things.
Lulu was shocked when Johnny revealed that he was there to buy the Haunted Star. He reminded her that he had once been a part owner in the casino, but Lulu argued that he had used the casino to launder money. Johnny clarified that Anthony had been behind the money laundering, not Johnny.
Lulu didn't understand why Johnny was interested in the casino when he had Vaughn's. Johnny revealed that he was out of the business of "objectifying women," so he had sold Vaughn's. Lulu was curious what had prompted Johnny to turn over a new leaf.
"Carly," Johnny replied. Johnny admitted that Carly had given him a second chance, so he intended to make better choices. Lulu sensed that there was a change in Johnny, which she attributed to Anthony no longer influencing Johnny's life. Johnny confided that he wanted to turn the casino into a nightclub. Lulu revealed that she had considered the same thing at one time, so Johnny suggested that they go into business together.
Lulu reminded Johnny that she had a job with the police department, but Johnny argued that the Lulu that he had known had wanted more out of life. Johnny was startled when Lulu suddenly acquiesced. They quickly signed some paperwork and shook hands, and then Lulu handed Johnny a set of keys to the Haunted Star.
6/14 Lulu was sipping on a drink and fanning herself when Dante arrived home. Dante was curious why it was so hot in the loft, so Lulu explained that the air conditioner kept blowing a fuse. Dante wanted to hear about Lulu's day, but first he decided to grab a quick shower.
After the shower, Lulu told Dante that she had received an offer for the Haunted Star. Dante wondered who the buyer was, so Lulu revealed that it was Johnny Zacchara. Dante scoffed, and then asked if Johnny planned to start selling black-market organs dockside. Lulu assured Dante that Johnny intended to open a legitimate business, so Dante begged Lulu not to tell him that she had sold the casino to Johnny.
Lulu reminded Dante that they needed the money, so she had sold Johnny fifty percent of the Haunted Star. Dante was stunned when she added that she planned to convert the casino into a nightclub with Johnny. Dante accused Johnny of trying to scam Lulu, but Lulu suspected that Dante was jealous, because Johnny was her ex-boyfriend.
Dante argued that Johnny had changed, since Lulu and Johnny had dated. Lulu insisted that Johnny wanted a fresh start, so she assured Dante that everything would work out. Dante continued to have reservations about Lulu and Johnny's partnership, so he wondered how she planned to juggle working at the police station and at the nightclub.
Lulu explained that she would work both jobs until the nightclub became a success. She enjoyed working with Dante, but the actual work at the police station was boring, so she intended for the nightclub to become a full-time career. Dante was not pleased that Lulu would be spending her evenings with Johnny. He was also frustrated that she had made the decision without discussing it with him.
Lulu reminded Dante that it was her boat, so he pointed out that she had made that abundantly clear. Lulu conceded that she should have talked to her husband about her decision, but she hadn't realized that she had wanted to be a part of the nightclub until Johnny had suggested it. Lulu wanted to love her job as much as Dante loved his job, so it was about her, not them. "Who cares about us," Dante complained, and then stormed out.
6/15 Johnny gave Lulu a call to ask where he'd find the spare key for the back room of the Haunted Star. She directed him to its location and mentioned that Dante had walked out on her. Johnny offered to buy Lulu out of the business. Lulu declined, saying that Dante's disapproval was Dante's problem. "Looks like it's my problem now," Johnny said, as Dante walked into the parlor.
Johnny tried to persuade Dante that the Haunted Star would be a legitimate business. Johnny suggested to Dante that he stop trying to control Lulu. Dante made it clear he still considered Johnny responsible for Anthony's murder, though there was still no proof the man was dead.
Johnny pointed Dante toward Tracy and repeated that he hadn't caused the accident that had killed Cole and Hope; Kate had. Dante left. Alone at the bar, Johnny hoped that Connie would keep Johnny's secret from Kate.
Dante returned home and told Lulu that, as much as he didn't trust Johnny, he knew Lulu had good judgment. He said he was sorry he'd walked out on her. Lulu apologized for not having consulted with him before making a deal with Johnny.
6/19 At Maxie's apartment, Lulu watched, as Maxie cleaned up the living room. Maxie explained that she had put an ad in the paper for a new roommate, so Lulu suggested that Maxie invite Spinelli to move back in. Maxie informed Lulu that Spinelli was the reason that Maxie was in the predicament that she was in. Maxie wouldn't need a roommate if Spinelli hadn't revealed that Matt had killed Lisa Niles. Lulu was curious if Maxie intended to stay married to Matt as a way to punish Spinelli.
Maxie insisted that remaining married to Matt had nothing to do with Spinelli, but Lulu didn't believe her. Lulu defended Spinelli by arguing that Spinelli had been trying to keep Maxie from throwing her life away. Maxie snorted, because Lulu was a Spencer, so Maxie was certain that Lulu would readily lie to protect Lulu's family. Lulu agreed, but pointed out that Spinelli had told the truth to protect the one that he loved.
Lulu was certain that Maxie loved Spinelli too, but Maxie suggested that Lulu focus on her own marriage. Lulu assured Maxie that everything was fine with Dante, but Maxie doubted that Dante was okay with his wife spending her evenings with Johnny. Lulu denied that anything romantic was going on with Johnny, but Maxie warned Lulu that attraction and proximity could lead to things that Lulu might not have anticipated.
Lulu waved away Maxie's concerns and announced that she had to leave. Lulu opened the door, but stopped short when she saw Trey standing in the doorway. Trey was there to look at the apartment, so Lulu invited him in to talk to Maxie, and then left.
Lulu entered the Haunted Star while Johnny was listening to Starr's song. Lulu liked Starr's music. Johnny revealed that he wanted Starr to perform on opening night, so he hoped that Lulu could be there. Lulu conceded that Dante had had a few concerns, but she had assured her husband that the club was a legitimate business venture.
Lulu insisted that her relationship with Johnny was purely professional, regardless what Maxie thought. Lulu told Johnny about Maxie's fears, so Johnny suggested that perhaps Maxie was projecting. Lulu agreed, because Maxie was married to one man, but in love with another.
6/20 Heather followed Luke to the Haunted Star and then lurked out of sight, eavesdropping, while Luke greeted Lulu. Lulu showed Luke the plans for the renovations. He wondered if they were better or worse than her partnership with Johnny.
Lulu conceded that her decision to go into business with Johnny had been impulsive, but Luke wasn't in a position to criticize. She then changed the subject by asking how things had gone with Anna. Luke confessed that he and Anna had agreed not to get involved, but then they had slept together. Lulu was shocked. Luke explained that what he felt for Anna went beyond physical attraction, so he and Anna had decided to pursue a relationship.
Lulu urged Luke to talk to Tracy, because Tracy deserved to know what was going on. Luke admitted that he had promised Anna that he would. Satisfied, Lulu encouraged Luke to be honest with Anna about what had happened to Anthony and how Luke had lied about Ethan's paternity in an effort to give Robert the will to live. Luke feared that Anna would never forgive him for sending Robert after Ethan on the eve of Robin's funeral. Lulu insisted that it was a chance that Luke had to take.
6/21 Anna asked for everyone's attention when she entered the squad room. Everyone stopped what they were doing as Anna explained that she wanted to take a few minutes to thank everyone for welcoming her and making her transition easy. She then announced that she wanted to make three cases a top priority.
According to Anna, in an interesting twist, each case involved the Zaccharas. The first case dealt with a possible corruption. Anna confided that Mac had had reason to believe that they had a dirty cop in their midst, who had been leaking important information to the Zacchara organization. Delores swallowed nervously, as she recalled talking to Johnny about the case against Sonny when Sonny had been charged with shooting out Anthony's tires.
Meanwhile, Anna informed everyone that she wanted to find out who had been responsible for Hope and Cole Thornhart's deaths. Dante recalled Johnny's accusation that Kate had fired the gun that had led to the tragic crash. Finally, Anna intended to investigate the disappearance of Anthony Zacchara. Lulu flashed back to Luke's confession that Anthony had been murdered.
After the meeting ended, Delores approached Anna. Delores admitted that she had fed Johnny information about the accident that had killed Hope and Cole Thornhart. Delores explained that she had agreed to give Johnny the information in exchange for Johnny's help to solve her sister's murder.
Delores handed her badge to Anna, but Anna decided to give Delores an opportunity to redeem herself. Anna wanted Delores to continue to pretend to be Johnny's mole. Anna thought that it would be best to keep it between Anna and Delores, in case Johnny had managed to get to another cop.
Meanwhile, Dante pulled Lulu aside to tell her that Johnny had accused Sonny of covering up the truth about the accident that had killed Hope and Cole. Lulu was stunned when Dante revealed that Johnny had claimed that Kate had shot out Anthony's tires, and that Kate was in Shadybrook, undergoing treatment for dissociative identity disorder.
Lulu admitted that she had been keeping her own secret about Luke. Lulu explained that Luke had confessed to finding Anthony's body in the boathouse. Dante warned Lulu that they would have to tell Anna, but first he wanted to talk to Sonny to find out exactly what was going on with Kate. Lulu assured Dante that Luke had promised to tell Anna everything later that evening over dinner.
At the Haunted Star, Heather relented and agreed to take Luke to Anthony's body. Luke decided to call Anna to let her know, but Heather had other plans. She grabbed a bottle of wine, and then hit Luke over the head with it. Luke crumpled to the ground, unconscious. Heather apologized and informed Luke that his plans for the evening had changed.
6/22 Anna approached Lulu, while she filed reports at the police station. Anna wanted to discuss her relationship with Luke. They went to the interrogation room to talk. Lulu thought about the advice she'd given her father: to tell Anna that he and Tracy had found Anthony's body but that it had disappeared. Lulu was relieved when Anna began to explain that she wanted Lulu's blessing to see Luke.
Lulu explained that Luke had visited her for advice. She told Anna that Luke likely went to see Tracy right afterward. Lulu pointed out that Luke had a habit of avoiding telling people things he thought they wouldn't want to hear. Anna wondered if he might have fled town, but Lulu assured her he hadn't.
Lulu reminded Anna that Luke sometimes did the wrong things for the right reasons. Anna wondered if Lulu was talking about more than Luke's love life. Lulu remembered Luke telling her he hadn't killed Anthony but that Anthony was most definitely dead.
Lulu walked into the Haunted Star. Lulu was suspicious of Heather, who explained that she was there to share her good news with Luke. She boasted that Todd had hired her to work for the Port Charles Sun.
Lulu noticed the phone on the floor, but Heather claimed it as her own. Lulu asked Heather to leave, and she did. Lulu then called Luke's number and left a message, as she turned out the lights and left.
6/25 At the police station, Lulu and Dante shared Chinese takeout and discussed their common interests. Lulu told Dante about Luke's tangled relationships with Tracy and Anna. Lulu said that she had advised Luke to talk to Tracy and admit his involvement with Anthony's corpse before starting up with Anna. For his part, Dante said that he was going to try to get the truth about Kate out of Sonny. Lulu said that she loved Dante's integrity, and they kissed.
Lulu arrived at the Quartermaine mansion and found Alice keeping vigil over a romantic candlelit meal. Alice said that Luke had apparently stood Tracy up and that Tracy had gone to the hotel, looking for him. Lulu called Luke and left a message for him. Alice wondered if she should clear the table, but Lulu said that Tracy should make the decision about when to give up.
Lulu was waiting when Tracy got home. Tracy said that Luke was not at the hotel and that Anna had said that Luke had intended to let Tracy down easy. Tracy could see from the look on Lulu's face that Lulu already knew what Luke was going to do.
Lulu assured Tracy that the only reason Lulu had kept silent was because Luke had promised to tell Tracy first. Lulu assured Tracy that there would be other, better guys. Lulu offered to stay with Tracy, but Tracy said she would rather be alone. Luke is shown being held by Heather, tied up in a chair.
At the police station, Dante told Sonny that Johnny claimed that Kate had shot out Anthony's tires. Sonny said that Johnny was a liar and would say anything to hurt Sonny or those close to him. Dante said that was why he was talking to Sonny.
Dante wanted a straight answer and believed he could get it from Sonny. Sonny tried to evade Dante's questions by saying that Kate was seriously ill, did not own a gun, and could not shoot. Dante still wanted the truth, and Sonny asked for the consequences.
Dante said that even though Kate was seriously ill, the final outcome would depend on the D.A. Sonny begged Dante to leave the case alone, but Dante said he could not because he was under pressure from the new police commissioner. Sonny said that he did not want Kate to go to prison.
Dante again asked for the truth. Sonny said that he had to talk to his lawyer. Dante said that Sonny was not the focus of the investigation. Sonny again insisted that Johnny had committed the crime and planted the gun in Kate's office. Dante insisted that Johnny had a solid alibi.
Dante pushed Sonny, who finally admitted that Kate believed that she had committed the crime but could not actually remember buying the gun or taking the fatal shot. Dante thanked Sonny and told him to contact his lawyer and make arrangements because Dante would be telling Anna what he knew the next morning.
6/26 At the police station, Dante eavesdropped as Anna left Luke a voicemail message asking Luke to call because she was concerned. Afterwards, Dante approached Anna to tell her that Johnny had accused someone of shooting out Anthony's tires.
Kate and Ewen entered the squad room. Ewen explained that Kate had made a breakthrough, so Kate announced that she was ready to take responsibility for what she had done. Anna assumed that Kate wanted to confess to attacking Ewen, but Ewen quickly made it clear that Kate had not been responsible for what had happened to him, so he refused to press charges. Frustrated, Anna demanded to know why Kate and Ewen where there.
Dante led Kate to the interrogation room, where he urged her to call her attorney. Kate realized that Dante didn't seem surprised by her desire to confess, so Dante admitted that he had talked to Sonny the previous evening. Kate questioned if Dante were trying to be helpful because of Sonny.
Dante assured Kate that he was concerned for her because she was family and close to his mother. Kate softened as she explained that two innocent people were dead because of her, so she felt compelled to take responsibility for what she had done. Dante wondered if Sonny knew that Kate was there. Kate was confident that Sonny would know soon enough.
A short time later, Sonny arrived at the police station. Sonny insisted on calling an attorney for Kate, so Anna reminded Sonny that she could charge him with obstruction of justice for not reporting Kate. Sonny pointed out that Anna didn't have any proof of that, as he continued to dial Alexis' phone number.
Kate explained that she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she didn't do the right thing. Sonny finally backed down and quietly watched as Kate signed the confession admitting to shooting out Anthony's tires. Anna agreed to let Sonny go with Kate to booking, so Kate hugged Sonny and then followed Dante to be processed. 6/27 Lulu stopped by the Drake residence to find out why Maxie had let go of their old apartment. Maxie explained that she had thought that the apartment would be better for Starr and Trey. Lulu recalled that Maxie had loved the apartment, so Lulu was curious if Maxie's decision to move had something to do with Spinelli. |
