Jason
& Liz #8 August 1 - October 4, 2007 - 8 hour original edit
#8A
Liz paces in the witness room. Amelia mentions that the more nervous she
looks, the guiltier Jason will look. Liz says she is just nervous because
Lucky will be in there. Liz is called to the stand. When court begins, Ric
calls Sonny to the stand first. Diane mentions that Ric and Sonny are half
brothers, but the judge allows the witness anyway. Ric asks his questions,
but doesn't get much out of Sonny as he pleads the 5th. Ric asks Sonny if
he ordered the hit, and Sonny says no. Next, Kate gets on the stand. Ric
asks the details of a phone call Sonny took while she was on the terrace
with him. Kate makes a fool of Ric, though. She says yes she heard Sonny
on the phone, but she doesn't eavesdrop. If she heard anyone ordering a
murder she would certainly call the cops. Diane cross-examines Kate and
asks her if she's ever made or received phone calls in front of Sonny and
Kate says yes. Diane asks if Sonny has done the same. Kate says yes, and
to her knowledge none of them has ever been to kill someone. Next on the
witness stand is Liz. Ric asks Liz how long she's known Jason and what the
nature of their relationship is. She says she's known him for 10 years and
they are good friends. She says she did not overhear any part of his
conversation when she was with him the day Alcazar disappeared. She
assumed it was business, coffee business. He asks if she's ever been to
the penthouse. She says yes. He asks if she's ever spent the night there.
She says yes. He asks if she's ever had sex with Mr. Morgan.
Ric
questions Elizabeth on the stand about the history of her friendship with
Jason. Diane continues to object to the judge about the relevance of her
testimony on Jason's case. Ric argues that it is relevant to the case. The
judge allows Ric to continue his line of questioning which starts to make
Elizabeth and Jason more uncomfortable each moment Ric gets closer to
asking her more personal information. Elizabeth admits that she dated
Jason briefly years ago but that it didn't get serious and that they
remained just friends. Ric asks her if she ever had sex with Jason back
when she dated him. She tells him the truth, which is no. Ric asks her if
she ever visited Jason at his own residence before alone. She admits that
she did. Ric then asks her if she has ever had sexual relations with
Jason. Jason jumps up and yells at Ric to leave Elizabeth alone. The judge
orders Jason to sit down. Jason eventually calms down enough to sit after
Diane talks to him. Ric suggests that it would be better if Jason is put
in restraints for the rest of the trial to keep him from having more
outburst. Elizabeth admits that she had sex with Jason.
Diane keeps
objecting to the judge who overrules her but he gets fed up and calls for
a ten minute recess and asks for Ric and Diane to meet with him in
chambers. Lucky approaches Jason and sits behind him. He tells Jason he is
garbage because he only rescued her and his son to get closer to her
because he wants her for himself. Later, when court reconvenes, the judge
allows Ric to continue questioning Elizabeth about her relationship with
Jason. Ric asks her when she had sexual relations with Jason. She tells
him it was in late August. Ric asks her how old her baby is. She tells him
that he is about three months old. Ric does the math out loud and tells
her that based on the math she could have conceived her son while she was
having sex with Jason. He tells her that it is possible that Jason could
be the father of her baby. Lucky reacts as expected which is in disbelief
but with some suspicion.
Ric
continues to badger Liz. She tells him that Lucky is the father of her
son. She is friends with Jason and that's all. She tells the jury that
Jason is a wonderful person and he is protective and kind. She tells Ric
there's no way he can twist or change her testimony. Diane cross-examines
her and only asks if Jason left right after he took phone calls in front
of her and if she ever heard Jason say Lorenzo Alcazar's name. Liz steps
down and court is adjourned. She walks toward Lucky, who walks out of the
courtroom. Jason tells Sonny what happened in the court room. Sonny wants
to know why Liz lied and denied Jake's paternity. Jason defends Liz, but
Sonny tells him that Diane is going to get him out of this and he needs to
claim his son.
In the
courtroom, Ric apologizes to Liz. She tells him he's not sorry. Everyone
warned her to stay away from him. He's self-righteous. All he cares about
is revenge on his brother. Ric tells her to stop blaming him. She needs to
blame herself. He tells her that he loved her and always loved her. She
says he doesn't love anyone but himself. She sees Sam and mentions how all
this got started in the first place. She tells them there may be time for
a quickie now. They deserve each other. Sam claps as she leaves. Liz
leaves and goes into the interrogation room to talk to Jason. She tells
him she's been lying for so long now; she doesn't know what's right or
wrong. She doesn't know if Jake is safer as a Spencer or not. Jason tells
her he will support her no matter what and they hug. Liz comes home to
find Lucky with one of Jake's toys. She apologizes for what happened in
court today. He asks her if Jake is his son or Jason's?
Later, Ric
visits Jason and offers him a plea bargain. Jason informs him that he will
not give him what he wants and turns it down. Sam visits Jason and tells
him to admit the truth about Jake once and for all, or she will. She warns
him that Elizabeth is manipulating him as he can't claim his son publicly
as Elizabeth will be charged with purjery. Jason reminds her that he will
turn her in for being an accessory to Jake's kidnapping if she says
anything. Sam says that Lucky deserves to know the truth and that although
Maureen was crazy with grief she would have been a better mother than
Elizabeth. Jason tells Sam that she likes to believe that Elizabeth is a
horrible person but that is not true and that she is having a difficult
time with everything as well. Sam tells him that he deserves every bit of
pain that he has because he caused it himself.
Once back
home, Lucky asks Elizabeth if Jason really is Jake's father and Elizabeth
says no. He asks her for details regarding her affair with Jason and she
fills him in on everything that happened. He asks her if she is in love
with Jason and she says no. She apologizes to Lucky for hurting him but
also admits that she doesn't regret her night with Jason, because it
helped her realize where she belongs and that's with him. Emily arrives to
visit Jason. She tells him about the media coverage of the trial and of
Elizabeth's testimony. She tells Jason she is sorry she has visited, that
she has been extremely busy with school and the hospital. She arrives in
her scrubs, so it is obvious to Jason who tells her that he understands.
She tells him that she knows he will get through this and that she needs
him. She also tells him that she knows Alan would be there supporting him
as well. Later, Elizabeth also visits Jason. She tells him that she lied
to Lucky again about Jake. Jason apologizes to her for having to go
through everything at the trial and she says she would do it all over
again if it meant he could go free.
While
visiting Jason in jail, Jason asks Liz what she wants. Elizabeth explains
that she still thinks Jake is safer with Lucky than with him. She also
does not want to risk Lucky relapsing and going back to popping pills. He
asks her what she would do if Lucky left and she tells him that she would
raise the boys on her own. He questions if that is what she really wants?
Liz goes home and asks Sam to leave. Lucky defends Sam, and Sam apologizes
to Lucky before taking her leave. Liz tells him that Sam only intended to
make things worse with them. When she admits to having visited Jason, he
walks out. Diane warns Jason that Ric might seek a paternity test. They
discuss the case, and Diane reminds Jason that Ric did serious damage to
their argument by showing the video of Jason defending himself against the
men who tried to take his life. She tells him that a plea bargain may be
their only option, as she cannot guarantee him an acquittal.
Liz tells
Lucky that she's being called as a witness again today. He wants to know
if he has to go, too. He asks if there's any other secrets he needs to
know about. She tells him no, and he decides to stay home with the kids.
After she leaves, he smashes their wedding picture. Sam rings the doorbell
and he answers the door. He asks if she waited until Liz left, and she
says yes. She didn't feel like explaining why he invited her over. She
asks him what he wants to know. He asks again if Liz is the reason why she
and Jason broke up. She says yes. The secret Liz asked him to keep was too
much for their relationship. Sam says it's partly her fault for sleeping
with Ric, but Lucky doesn't buy that. She points out that Liz wouldn't
have slept with Jason if he hadn't slept with Maxie. Lucky tells her
basically that two wrongs don't make a right. He says it would be a lot
different if that little boy upstairs weren't his. She asks him if he
would leave Liz if Jake wasn't his son.
Diane tells
Jason that she's going to call Liz to the stand. She wants to try and
regain some ground after Ric's cross-examination yesterday. Jason is
against Liz going back to the stand. She went through enough already. Liz
comes in and tells Jason that Diane wanted her to reassure him about her
wanting to testify for him today. She wants to try and help him after
yesterday. He needs to be selfish for once in his life. All that matters
is getting him out. When Liz takes the stand, Diane uses Liz's testimony
to point out Ric's goal of revenge on Sonny. Ric then cross-examines Liz
and asks if she was married when she slept with Jason. She says yes. He
asks if she lied to her husband, and she replies yes. Skye is sworn in to
testify and after all the questions are said and done, Ric makes a valid
point by asking if Alcazar would have knowingly abandoned his child. She
replies that he would not. Next, a criminalist is brought to the stand.
Ric plays the tape recording of Alcazar saying "Morgan" and then
a gun shot being heard. The criminalist verifies that testing indicates
the sound was a 9 mm gunshot.
Liz arrives
home and hears Lucky playing with the kids. She walks in and finds Sam
holding Jake, while Lucky plays with Cameron. Elizabeth comes home to find
Lucky playing with Cameron while Sam is holding Jake in her arms and
playing with him. Lucky tells her he didn't expect her home so quickly.
Elizabeth is very dismayed to find Sam in her living room holding her son.
Lucky explains that Jake woke up while he was busy with Cameron and
offered to stay and help out by feeding the baby a bottle. Elizabeth acts
very territorial about Jake and takes him out of Sam's arms. Sam just
watches amusingly. Lucky asks Elizabeth what she had to say on the stand
again. Elizabeth tells him that it wasn't anything new and that Diane
wanted to ask her a few things about her marriage to Ric. Elizabeth tries
to avoid answering Lucky's questions. Sam picks up on that and decides to
have a little fun with her discomfort by pointing out that after what
happened, Lucky has a right to know what she said on the stand. Elizabeth
explains to him that Diane just asked her about Ric and that she told the
court about Ric's hatred of Jason. Lucky makes a comment about how it is
already getting around town that she slept with Jason and that he was just
wondering if there was anything else she said on the stand that would
affect him. He heads upstairs which leaves Sam alone with Elizabeth.
Sam tells
Elizabeth that she should be more understanding about how Lucky must feel
and how he has good reason to be suspicious of her since she lied to him
for so long. Later, they have another run in at the courthouse. Elizabeth
grabs Sam by the arm as she tries to walk by her without speaking to her.
Sam tells her to keep her hands off of her. Elizabeth tells her that she
wants her to stay away from her children and her husband. Sam accuses
Elizabeth of hanging around the courthouse hoping to see Jason and show
her love for him. Elizabeth accuses Sam of hoping that Jason gets found
guilty of murder because she is spiteful and wants revenge. Later,
Elizabeth asks Alexis to meet with her at Kelly's. Alexis asks her what
she can do for her. Elizabeth asks Alexis if she can get Sam to back off
and accuses Sam of trying to cause trouble for her because she blames her
for the breakup with Jason. Alexis asks her what she thinks she can do
concerning Sam.
Skye hangs
around outside of the courtroom in case Ric calls her back to the stand to
testify against Jason. Sonny shows up and asks her what she is doing
there. Skye tells him that Ric may ask her to get back on the stand again
to testify and warns Sonny that she could very well testify that she saw
Jason kill Alcazar if he doesn't back off and leave her alone. Sonny tells
her he doesn't like to be threatened and reminds her that Jason wouldn't
be in the situation he is in if they were able to kill Alcazar when they
wanted to. He reminds her that she begged them to let Alcazar live until
she got her baby back. Skye tells him that she doesn't like to be
threatened anymore than he does and plans to testify that she didn't see
Jason kill Alcazar. Meanwhile, in the courtroom Ric asks the judge if he
can replay the tape of Alcazar saying Jason's last name and the sound of
what seems like a silencer going off and a sound of someone dropping to
the floor. The judge allows it but warns Ric to move on with his
questioning. They replay the tape. Later, Ric questions Amelia on the
stand about the incident when some men associated with Alcazar came into
the television studio and shot at Sam, Jason, and herself. She tells the
jury that Jason saved her life twice. Ric questions Amelia about her
objectivity concerning Jason which makes Diane, Jason's lawyer laugh in
disbelief while she is objecting since it looks like Ric is interrogating
his own witness. Amelia tells the court what happened that day. Amelia's
testimony unfortunately makes Jason look even more like a hitman.
Later, Skye
gets on the stand again to testify about Alcazar's lifestyle. Skye is very
calm and tells the court that Alcazar never told her about his business
and would leave town without telling her where he was going and what he
was doing. Diane cross-examines her and asks her if it would be normal for
him to disappear and not tell her like the night in question. Skye tells
her that she wouldn't be surprised. Diane also asks her about an incident
in the past when Alcazar hired a woman to look like Sonny's late wife
during a vulnerable time in his life so it would drive him crazy on
purpose. Skye admits that it happened. Ric objects to Diane's questioning
stating that it is irrelevant to the case. The judge overrules Ric and
allows it. Diane paints a picture of Alcazar as being someone who isn't
above underhanded tactics to get revenge on his enemies. Diane asks Skye
if it is possible that Alcazar would be capable of going so far as to say
Jason's last name and shoot a gun off with a silencer and fall to the
floor while recording it to make it look like Jason killed him. Skye tells
her it is very possible. Ric plans to redirect his questioning of Skye. He
asks her about that night again and insinuates that she may have been
involved with Alcazar's murder. Skye vehemently denies having anything to
do with Alcazar's death. Ric apologizes for accusing her but is pleased
that he got a heated response from her and got her to admit that it was
possible that Alcazar was murdered. Ric calls an unknown man to the stand.
The man testifies in court that he works as a gardener in the neighborhood
where Alcazar lived. He surprises everyone in court including Jason when
he claims he saw Jason outside Alcazar's home and that he was putting a
body inside a dark SUV.
Diane does
her best to discredit Ric's "eyewitness," who claims he saw
Jason putting Alcazar's dead body in the back of an SUV. Diane makes a
stunning announcement that she has proof that Alcazar is still alive! Sam
plays on Lucky's sympathies as she continues to work him. Nikolas stops
Lucky's harsh tirade against Elizabeth, but has little sympathy for
Elizabeth himself. Elizabeth and Nikolas discuss the situation regarding
Lucky and Nikolas tells her that Lucky has every right to be angry because
she lied to him over and over again. He also says that she needs to give
Lucky time to forgive her and don't force him to do it on her time-table.
He uses Maxie as an example and says her feelings would be the same if
Lucky was still visiting Maxie. Elizabeth says the circumstances are
completely different, but also goes on to say she will do whatever it
takes to keep her family together. Lucky confronts Elizabeth about her
talking to Alexis about Sam's interest in him. He tells her she has no
right to dictate who he sees. She tells him how much Sam hates her and
Lucky says that she has every right to. Jerry and Carly show up at the
courthouse and Jerry manages to get them into the courtroom. Diane has
just announced that there is proof Alcazar is alive and requests that the
charges against Jason be dropped. The judge orders a recess to review the
evidence and allows it to be submitted but orders that the trial continue.
After an outburst in the courtroom by Carly, Ric asks the judge to allow
the evidence to be presented to the jury so that he can refute it. Diane
presents bank statements and pictures of Alcazar from only days prior. The
judge orders an adjournment until the next day so the jury can review all
the evidence. Once the case is adjourned, Jason tells Carly he is angry at
her for taking a risk with Jerry but admits that he is lucky to have her
in his life helping him. Diane thanks Jerry for helping with the case and
suggests that if he has anything else they can use, now would be a good
time to use it. He tells her that he is aware of a specific time that
Alcazar will be withdrawing money from the bank.
Distraught
over Lulu, Spinelli goes to see Jason in jail. He explains the situation
to Jason, and asks for his help. Jason tells him to just be there for her.
Using Carly as an example, he tells Spinelli that sometimes friends will
do self-destructive things, and all you can do is sit back and watch. He
is sympathetic, and reminds Spinelli that no matter what, he has Lulu's
trust, and without trust there is nothing. Ric summons Sam to the
courthouse and offers to recall her to the stand. He encourages her to
remember anything Jason may have said about wanting to kill Alcazar. She
appears ready to take the opportunity for revenge. On the stand however,
Sam testifies that she has no recollection of Jason ever making
arrangements to kill anyone. Diane tells Jason that she owes Sam for that
one.
Back in
court, Diane cross-examines the coroner about whether or not he can say if
a crime has been committed without a body. Next, Mac gets on the stand.
She asks him if it's possible that Ric's personal vendetta against Sonny
could be the reason why Jason has been arrested 32 separate times but
never convicted. Next, a man from the bank gets on the stand and says that
no one except Alcazar could have withdrawn the money yesterday. Ric also
cross-examines the witness and asks if it's possible the system could have
been subverted. Finally, Amelia gets on the stand. She tells the jury that
Ric asked to have a camera crew there when Jason was transferred back
because he was confident he would get a conviction. He knew this could
make or break his career. He wanted to document convicting Jason Morgan.
Ric gives his closing arguments and reminds the jury that they heard the
testimony of Lorenzo leaving without saying goodbye to his only child and
the testimony of a man who actually witnessed Jason disposing of a body.
Ric says there is no proof that Alcazar is actually alive. Jason has never
been convicted of his previous crimes because he had good lawyers, like
Diane. When Diane gives her closing argument, she tells the jury that
Lorenzo is alive. She asks the jury to look at the facts. Jason has been
arrested 32 times with no conviction. This trial is about deception and
mind games by the prosecuting attorney. She asks the jury to find Jason
Morgan not guilty. While the jury deliberates, Epiphany offers to let Liz
go home. She's not going to be any use there if she stays while waiting
for Jason's verdict to come in. Amelia shows up and tells Liz that the
jury has come back with a verdict. She thinks Liz should be there for him.
She should take advantage of this opportunity or Sam will. Jason is
brought back into the courtroom. Diane tells Jason it may not be a good
thing that the jury came back so soon. Ric walks over and tells Diane she
gave up an impressive fight. She reminds him that he hasn't won yet. The
jury comes in and the judge asks Jason to rise.
The verdict
is read at Jason's trial. He is found not guilty. Ric watches in disbelief
that he didn't get a conviction. Jason hugs his attorney, Diane and thanks
her for all her help. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and Sam come face to face
outside the courtroom while waiting for the verdict to come in. Sam makes
a snide remark about how Lucky wouldn't be too happy if he knew that his
wife was waiting for Jason's verdict so she can be there in person.
Elizabeth tells her she is a friend who is there to support him. Sam
thinks Elizabeth is being insensitive to how Lucky feels and that he will
be humiliated again by her being at the courthouse. Jason heads out of the
courtroom and greets Elizabeth. He hugs Elizabeth in public and this
catches the television news cameraman's eye and the press. Sam watches in
disbelief as Jason hugs Elizabeth and thanks her for her testimony in
helping him get his acquittal. Elizabeth tells him she is glad because she
was afraid her testimony may have hurt him in court. Diane makes a
statement to the press about Jason's acquittal in front of the cameras.
Sam grabs Elizabeth as she is walking away from the cameras and warns her
that this doesn't mean things are over yet for her. Elizabeth smugly walks
away. Jason notices that Sam is in the courthouse and saw him hugging
Elizabeth.
Sonny
listens as Spinelli takes credit with him for helping Jason get acquitted.
Sonny tells him he doesn't like him and doesn't understand a word he is
saying most of the time. Spinelli does agree with him about how Jason
should claim Jake as his son. Jason shows up to talk to Sonny. Spinelli is
very happy for Jason. Jason gets him to calm down and leave him alone to
talk to Sonny. Sonny asks Jason what he plans to do next. Jason tells him
he plans to move on with his life. Sonny tells him he should claim Jake as
his son now. Jason tells Sonny that he can't do that. Later, Carly shows
up at Sonny's office to see Jason after Max tells her about the verdict.
Jason tells her that he couldn't have gotten an acquittal without her
help. Carly tells him that she would love to take all the credit but it
was really Jerry that helped him get an acquittal.
Elizabeth
returns to work and runs into Emily. Emily is pleased with the news as
well as Elizabeth. Elizabeth thanks Epiphany for covering her shift so she
could go see Jason at the courthouse in person. Emily thinks that
Elizabeth should back off now that Jason is free and not see him anymore
because it could hurt Lucky. Elizabeth doesn't see sleeping with Jason as
being the same thing that Lucky did to her because Jason is a good friend
who supported her unlike Maxie who was feeding Lucky pills. Elizabeth
takes orders from Epiphany and offers to work late to make up for the time
she missed earlier. Emily stops her and tells her she can't do that since
they are suppose to meet Nikolas and Lucky at Kelly's later for dinner.
Lucky and Nikolas come into Kelly's with Emily and Elizabeth. Elizabeth
makes a comment about how they are understaffed right now at the hospital.
Lucky makes a comment back about how if she worked more there instead of
taking off to visit Jason they wouldn't be. Mike watches television
coverage of Jason's acquittal at the counter. Lulu and Spinelli watch the
footage and see Elizabeth hugging Jason in front of the television cameras
just as Lucky walks over to watch as well. He sees Elizabeth hugging Jason
in public and isn't happy. Elizabeth sees what is on the television and
cringes. Lucky makes a comment about how she couldn't stay away from
Jason.
Jason
returns home to his apartment to find the star necklace he gave to Sam
laying on top of the desk. Sam shows up at his apartment and tells him she
just came to get the rest of her things. Jason hands her the necklace to
give back to her but she refuses to take it. She tells him that she can't
wear something that reminds her of what will never be again. She takes the
box that is sitting on the bottom stair and heads out of the apartment.
She turns around and tells him she is glad that he was acquitted but feels
that he paid too high a price for it by losing his son. Jason tells her he
gave up Jake because he can't put his son in danger and give him the life
he deserves and he can't understand why she can't accept that. Sam tells
him that he is giving up his son because Elizabeth asked him to and that
Elizabeth gets to keep her son and be with her husband while he gets to
live his life alone. Jason defends Elizabeth which angers Sam more. Sam
tells him that Elizabeth is afraid of him and that is why she is staying
with her husband and keeping her son from Jason. Sam shocks Jason when she
defends Lucky's right to know the truth and that maybe she should sleep
with Lucky to even the score some. She tells Jason that he and Elizabeth
deserve each other.
Jason takes
out his black keepsake box and puts his pictures of Liz and Jake in it.
There's a knock at the door. It's Lucky. He wants Jason to stay away from
his family. Jason explains that he and Liz just had a one night stand
almost a year ago. Lucky says Jason has been trying to play the hero ever
since then, though. If he's such a great guy, then how does he justify
seducing Liz? Jason tells him that it wasn't planned and it didn't happen
anymore afterwards. Lucky warns him again to stay away from the kids and
Lulu walks in. She asks what is going on and Lucky asks her what she's
doing there. She says she is there to see Spinelli. Lucky tells her to
tell Spinelli that he should stay away from his kids, too. After Lucky
leaves, Lulu asks Jason what he's going to do now that he's been banned
from seeing his only child. She tells him she's apologizing for making
obnoxious remarks about Jake. It was not her decision to make. She hopes
that in time, everyone is okay with the decision that he and Elizabeth
made. Someone will lose, though. Lulu asks if she can ask a personal
question, and he agrees. Lulu tells him she thinks he bottles his
emotions. She asks if he's in love with Elizabeth. She thinks Elizabeth is
in love with him. He says he doesn't know. Spinelli comes home and asks
what she's doing there and she explains. Jason tells them both that he
appreciates their concern but he will do the best he can for Jake. After
Lulu leaves, Spinelli and Jason talk about how empty the closet is.
Spinelli suggests that maybe there is room for Liz and the boys. Jason
says that Liz and the boys won't be moving in. Liz doesn't want to be
involved with his dangerous lifestyle. Spinelli points out that Liz is no
safer alone then she would be with him. He agrees that if Liz is willing
to give it a try, he would be willing, too.
Meanwhile,
Sam runs into Liz at the park with the kids. Sam asks to hold Jake and Liz
tells her that she has made her feelings known about staying clear. Liz
says she has to go to work and turns to leave. Liz is going to work on
foot because her car is in the shop. Sam asks where Lucky is and Liz tells
her he is busy. Sam goes back to the Spencer house and knocks on the door.
Lucky comes up from behind and tells her no one is home. She says he is
and this is his home. They go in and talk about how they were deceived by
Jason and Elizabeth and how their hearts have been broken. She apologizes
for not telling him about Elizabeth and Jason's affair. He tells her it
wasn't her fault. Sam says that Liz is the biggest loser here. She threw
everything away. She wishes she had someone in her life to make a
priority. They get closer and almost kiss, but she pulls away at the last
minute. She apologizes and leaves.
When
Elizabeth arrives at work, Emily asks her if Lucky came home last night.
She says no. She's beginning to worry about her marriage. Emily thinks
Lucky just needs time to calm down after learning about her and Jason.
Elizabeth tells her that Lucky saw the footage of her hugging Jason after
the trial. He doubts everything that they've ever had together and now she
is, too. Emily reminds her that every marriage has hard times. Epiphany
interjects and says she doesn't know what the big deal is. She thinks
Lucky is overreacting. Emily asks Liz what she's going to do if she and
Lucky split up. Elizabeth says she will just be on her own. Emily says
unless she ends up with Jason. Elizabeth says that maybe she and Lucky
aren't meant to be. If this is really the end, then she needs to let go.
She always wondered what would happen if she and Jason gave it a chance.
Maybe now's the chance. Jason tells Spinelli that he would want Elizabeth
and the boys to move in with him if she wanted to. He goes on to say that
he doesn't know if that is possible and Spinelli references the situation
with Sonny, Carly and their kids but Jason says that is different because
Carly isn't afraid of their lifestyle like Elizabeth is. Emily goes to the
penthouse to visit Jason and while there, tells him that she doesn't think
things will work out between Elizabeth and Lucky and that she told
Elizabeth she needs to make choices for herself. Emily implied that she
believes Elizabeth will choose to be with him.
Liz goes
back to the park with the kids. She's getting ready to go to Jason's house
when she is stopped by two men. They tell her they know she and the kids
are linked to Jason Morgan. Elizabeth and her sons are held at gunpoint by
two men in the park. Sam arrives with a gun pointed at them and demands
that they leave. After they leave, Sam inquires as to what they wanted.
She then suggests that they call the police which Elizabeth agrees to.
When Lucky and Cruz arrive, they question both Elizabeth and Sam.
Elizabeth says that Sam saved them. Afterwards, Elizabeth calls Jason and
asks him to meet her at the overlook. Once there, Jason insists on
speaking first and tells Elizabeth how much he wants to be a father to
Jake and raise him and that he wants for her and the boys to move in the
penthouse with him. He asks her if she wants to try and make it work. She
tells him about the incident in the park and asks if it will make him
change his mind, and take back everything he said. Meanwhile, back at the
park, Sam is seen talking to the two men who held guns on Elizabeth and
her children. She tells them what a great job they did at the park and how
convincing they were. Lucky comes up to her and asks what is going
on.
Jason tells
Liz that he will arrange for her to have protection, and that she is
better off without him. He wants to give them a try but also wants to keep
Jake safe. Jason makes her promise that she will call if Jake needs him.
She apologizes for hurting him. They profess their love for each other,
and tearfully say goodbye. Jason kisses her in a long lingering goodbye.
Lucky is suspicious when he sees Sam talking to the men who harassed
Elizabeth. She explains that they work on the set at her TV show. Later,
Sam and Liz run into each other at the park. There is an awkward moment,
but Liz thanks her again for saving her. Rick passes by and makes a snide
comment. Sam tells Rick about the incident in the park, and tells him that
it is his fault for exposing Elizabeth and Jason's affair in court. An
argument ensues between the three of them, and Rick tells her that she is
as bad a Carly when it comes to defending Jason. Jason tells Sonny that he
will not see Liz anymore, as he thinks it is best for her and her
children. Sonny does not share his opinion. Later, Jason runs into Sam and
thanks her for helping Liz. She asks him if it makes up for watching Jake
get kidnapped. He tells her that he is sorry they did not work out. Liz
and Lucky discuss their chances. Lucky tells her that he is not ready to
give up on them.
Jason comes
home and wakes up Spinelli to tell him about Liz and the kids being
threatened. Spinelli tells him his heart has been shattered and now he
knows the pain Stone Cold is feeling. He gets on his laptop to see if he
can find video from cameras around the area. Jason tells him that he's
staying out of her life for good. He thinks Ric might have set this up.
Spinelli thinks Lucky may be behind it. Jason goes to see Sonny while
Spinelli tries to find some images of the suspects. They don't understand
why someone would threaten Liz and the kids in pure daylight. Sonny points
out they're in a strong position right now. Jason tells him his thoughts
on Ric being suspect. Sonny wants him to make sure they don't overlook any
of their enemies. Sonny gets a call from Liz. She doesn't want Jason to
know she's calling Sonny. He goes to her house to meet with her. She is
concerned that Jason will take unnecessary risks right now. Sonny tells
her that she shut herself out of his life for good. It's no business of
hers what he does now.
Sam pays off
the thugs that threatened Elizabeth and tells them she'll kill them if
anyone finds out she was involved. She tells them to leave town. Maxie
sees the men as they are leaving and confronts Sam, who denies everything.
Maxie warns her that if she can figure it out, Jason will figure it out,
too. She goes to Jason's penthouse and tells Spinelli that she wants to
help Coop with his case against who threatened Elizabeth and the kids.
Jason comes home and kicks her out. At the Spencer house, Lucky comes
downstairs and Liz asks him if he wants to go with them to the beach. It
will be a special moment the first time Jake puts his feet in the sand.
She says if she is pushing him too hard, just tell her. He says that he
has a hard time believing anything she says or does. He wants to know if
she's going to fight for him. She tells him that Jason is no longer in her
life. Not because of him or the marriage, but because associating with him
is too dangerous. Emily goes to see Liz and tells her she is glad everyone
is alright. Liz tells her about the men trying to use her against Jason
and her conversation with Jason later. She tells Emily that she's in love
with Jason. If it weren't for the kids, she would try to be with Jason.
She has no life with Jason and the kids, though.
Ric shows up
at Jason's place as Jason is watching Spinelli on the computer try to
trace the license number of one of the men who threatened Elizabeth.
Spinelli tries to kick Ric out and starts to threaten him to stay away
from Jason. Jason refuses to talk to Ric. Ric questions Jason about what
enemy of his would want to threaten Elizabeth in the park. He starts to
try and get a rise out of Jason by referring to his one-night stand with
Elizabeth. Jason doesn't take the bait. Meanwhile, Sonny continues to talk
to Elizabeth about Jason in her home. Elizabeth tells Sonny that Jason
decided to stay away from her and her children because his lifestyle is
too dangerous for them. Sonny asks her to stay away from Jason if that is
the case instead of always calling him to help her. Sonny shows up at
Jason's while Ric is there. Sonny tells him to back off of Jason and have
the guts to come after who he really wants to which is himself for a
change. Ric leaves the penthouse after making sure to tell him that Kate
will spend at least 6 months in jail because of him. Sonny yells at
Spinelli for threatening Ric with his crazy talk. Jason tells Spinelli to
go upstairs. Jason tells Sonny that if he finds out that Ric hired those
thugs to threaten Elizabeth, he will make sure that Ric joins Alcazar in
the bottom of the river. Sonny uses Jason's words against him when he
reminds Jason about getting too emotional concerning Ric and warns him to
watch out for him. Sonny also tells him about his visit with Elizabeth. He
tells her that he is disappointed in Elizabeth for not having the courage
to be with him and let him protect her children.
Lucky comes
home to find Elizabeth folding the laundry. She tells him about Emily's
visit as well as Sonny's. Jason asks her why he was there. She tells him
that she told Sonny that she would no longer be seeing Jason as a friend
ever again because it is too dangerous to be around Jason. Lucky is
suspicious about why she is telling him that because he can't totally
trust her yet. Elizabeth asks him if he is trying to pick a fight with
her. He tells her that he wants to work things out with her but that he
can't trust her right now. Sam walks her out the door just as Lucky shows
up again at her apartment. He tells her he will be her own bodyguard after
all. Sam insists that she was considering anyone but Lucky to be her
bodyguard as she knows he is trying to work things out with Elizabeth and
she knows Elizabeth won't like him guarding her. He tells her that it
isn't Elizabeth's Elizabeth shows up at Sam's apartment and Lucky answers
her door for her to find her there. Elizabeth looks at them accusingly.
Sam explains that since the goons in the park mentioned coming after
Elizabeth to get back at Jason, that Sam feels threatened since she lived
with Jason for THREE years (emphasizing the length of her relationship
with Jason), so she asked Lucky to protect her. Later at GH, Elizabeth and
Lucky clash over Sam. Elizabeth warns Lucky that Sam is using this
situation to get back at Liz, that Sam is still upset with her because of
Jason and wants to cause problems between them. Lucky shows back up at
Sam's place and asks her what is wrong? She says after seeing the tension
between him and Elizabeth that they should forget this whole bodyguard
thing. He asks her if that is what she really wants? She responds,
"No". He then pulls her into his arms and kisses her.
Jason and
Spinelli follow a GPS signal track down the thugs who attacked Elizabeth.
Spinelli worries that they might have the wrong guys and he doesn't want
to see Jason go back to prison. Jason beats the truth out of the goons and
learns that Sam hired them. They plead that they weren't supposed to hurt
Elizabeth but just to scare her. Jason and Spinelli head back to town.
Spinelli suggests the possibility that the men were lying about Sam paying
them. He says that what happened to Elizabeth and the boys was malicious
and that he just doesn't feel Sam would be capable of that. He still
thinks that Ric is behind it. Jason reminds Spinelli of the kidnapping
earlier in the summer when Sam watched as Jake was taken and she did
nothing to stop it. Jason stops into see Sonny and finds Zacchara there.
He asks Sonny who that was after he leaves. Sonny tells him that he is
Ric's father. Jason questions where the line is when someone you love is
threathened? Sam opens the door to find Jason waiting for her in the dark.
He turns the light on, is clearly very angry and tells her they need to
talk. At the hospital, Elizabeth and Emily discuss Lucky. Elizabeth tells
her that Lucky has accepted a job as Sam's bodyguard. Emily asks if she
thinks Sam is coming onto Lucky. Elizabeth says that with everything that
has happened, she is in no position to question it. Emily asks her if she
pictures raising her family with Lucky and Elizabeth responds by saying
that unless Lucky decides otherwise, she wants to try and keep their
family together.
#8B
Elizabeth and Emily find Amelia and Lucky together at Metro Court, Amelia
invites them to join her. They politely refuse and leave. Emily tries to
tell Liz to give Lucky time to work things out in his head. Liz talks
about the mistakes that she and Lucky both made. Later, Lucky comes home
and apologizes to Liz for his behavior. He wants to give their marriage
another try, and she agrees. Jason confronts Sam about hiring the men to
scare Liz. She not only doesn't care, but tells Jason that he should be
thanking her for giving Liz a wake-up call. Jason is furious, and
threatens to kill Sam if she ever hurts Elizabeth or the children again.
Later, Lucky visits Sam and finds her crying. He tries to ask her why she
is upset. She doesn't really answer him, but tells him she feels so much
safer now that he is her bodyguard. Jason returns to the penthouse, and is
questioned by Spinelli who is worried for Sam. Jason tells him that if he
cares about Sam to keep her far away from Elizabeth and her chilldren, but
he is not going to tell Elizabeth that Sam was the one who arranged the
confrontation in the park. Alone, Jason sadly looks at a piece of Jake's
clothing and puts back in a box. He gets a visit from Amelia, who tells
him that Sam hired Lucky to be her bodyguard, and it's just a matter of
time before she sleeps with him. She brings him this news telling him that
Liz might need some comforting. He is grateful for her help, but doesn't
want her coming by with this kind of information anymore. He asks her to
keep quiet about Jake's paternity. Amelia agrees, but warns that Sam may
not be as discreet.
Jason is
thrilled to see Carly arrive safe and sound. Carly talks to Jason about
what happened with Jax and Irina. He is surprised when she tells him that
Jax slept with another woman. She continues with the information that he
was held captive, tortured, and raped. Carly explains that her biggest
issue is with the fact that Jax left her for Jerry. Jason also tells her
about Zacchara coming to town. He tells her that he's going to increase
her guards. Meanwhile, Jax goes to the hospital to get checked out. Jerry
meets him there and Jax tells him he is done with him. Jerry is dead to
him. Jason meets Jerry in the park and threatens him if he ever hurts
Carly again. He tells Jerry about Anthony Zacchara and tells him that he
is giving him a heads up. A surprised Jerry asks if Jason is suggesting an
alliance? Carly confides in Jason about her love for Jax. Jason refuses to
wait for Jax to protect her and the boys as he went off to find Jerry and
put her in danger. Carly doesn't know whether she can trust that Jax's
love is strong enough for their marriage to survive. Carly asks Jason how
Sonny is doing with Trevor Lansing in town and wants advice on how she
should approach Sonny when she goes to pick up the boys at his house
later. Jason warns her that Sonny is pretty wound up right now. Jason runs
into Trevor Lansing for the first time. Jason tells Trevor to send a
message to his client, Anthony Zacchara to tell him that Port Charles is
Sonny's territory and to leave him alone and stay away if he knows what is
good for him. Trevor tells him that he is in town to spend time with his
girlfriend, Kate Howard and not to conduct business. Jason repeats the
warning just the same. Trevor tells Jason not to make an enemy of
him.
Jax goes to
see Jason to talk to him about what happened with Jerry and find out how
much of a threat Zacchara is to Carly and the boys' safety. Jason explains
to him that Zacchara has a history of going after the families of his
enemies. Jax tries to reassure Jason that he can protect his wife and
stephcildren without his help but Jason doesn't believe him and confronts
him about what happened with Irina in Turkey. Jax defends himself and
tries to assure Jason that he has no plans to leave Carly again to go help
Jerry. Jason tells him that he has lost some of Carly's trust in him and
will have to win it back if he wants to save his marriage.
Liz is
ironing at home when Sam comes by. They argue over Lucky working for her
and how Liz thinks Sam is just trying to get back at her by seducing her
husband. When Lucky shows up, Sam lies and tells Lucky that she was trying
to make amends with Liz but all she is interested in is whether or not Sam
and Jason are getting back together. Sam leaves and Liz notices that Lucky
doesn't even question her about Sam. She asks if he is just going to
automatically believe Sam now without even questioning her. Lucky tells
her that Sam has never given him a reason to distrust her. She asks how he
can not see what she is doing by trying to seduce him. He says maybe he
does see it and he leaves. Lucky meets up with Sam in the park. She
apologizes and says she thought she could make peace with Liz. They kiss
and Jason walks up and sees them. Sam sees him also and asks if he has a
problem with it. Lucky says he's probably going to rush off and tell Liz
so he can rescue her yet again. Lucky tells Jason that he may get Liz, but
he'll never get his boys. When Lucky leaves, Jason tells Sam that Lucky
doesn't deserve this. She explains that this is all for revenge on Liz.
She's repaying her, unless Jason kills her first. She reminds him of his
threat. He tells her that the anger she is carrying around will hurt her
more than he ever could. She says she never thought they could hate each
other this much and walks off. When Lucky comes home, Liz is on the porch.
The boys are asleep and she wants to finish talking without waking them
up. She knows he is angry and has every right to be. But all this fighting
is hurting the boys. She's not going to let them grow up in a house with
their parents fighting all the time. If he can't stop all the anger, they
need to end the marriage. Jason goes to see Sonny, who is already
disturbed by the events at Kate's house. Jason wants Logan off the payroll
and explains the situation to Sonny. Sonny tells him not to get so
involved with kid's arguments. A year from now they will forget about each
other. Jason asks what is wrong and Sonny explains that he just saw Ric's
father stick his tongue down Kate Howard's throat. He didn't think she had
changed deep down. She's not Connie or even Kate anymore. She's Trevor's
mistress now. He doesn't realize that Kate is in the background
listening.
Elizabeth
and Lucky remain at odds. Liz gives him an ultimatium that if he can't get
over her sleeping with Jason that she will leave him. She is tired of
defending her decision not to tell him and blames all of their problems on
his drug use, including his affair with Maxie (she doesn't yet know he is
carrying on with Sam behind her back). She tells him that if they can't
resolve this that it is time for her to leave before this strain between
them hurts the children. Lucky accuses Elizabeth of settling for him
because she can't have Jason. When Jason gets home, Spinelli tries to get
information from him about Logan. He's worried that Jason might have
already killed him. Jason tells him that he did not kill Logan. He's busy
right now and wants him to focus on getting information on Zaccara to
protect Carly and the kids. He takes a moment to call Emily about Liz,
though. He wants to talk about Sam and Lucky but he promised not to
contact Liz again. When he gets done leaving the message for Emily, Jason
notices that Spinelli is happy knowing that Logan will be okay. He
explains to Jason that it was just jealousy that caused him to tell Jason
about Logan's behavior earlier. Jason understands that Spinelli just
doesn't want Lulu to be mad at him. Jason changes the subject and wants
Spinelli to find out whatever he can about Zaccara. Spinelli does find
something very dark, though. There are no facts and nothing solid, but it
is "the darkest of all".
Leticia
called Jason from the mall when she realized they didn't have a guard.
Carly doesn't know why Jason is so upset and wants to know what's going
on? Jason tells her about Zaccara and what Spinelli found out. He tells
her that her and the children have to be guarded at ALL times. Carly is
surprised at how cautious Jason is being and asks what is going on? When
Zaccara was in a territory fight with someone in New York, Zaccara tracked
down his enemy's long lost son and executed him and his entire family.
Jason calls Sonny to let him know that no one was guarding the boys and
Sonny throws the phone. Sonny reams out Logan who was supposed to be
guarding his children. Logan excuses that something came up. A furious
Sonny tells him that if anything had happened to his children that he
would have killed Logan, and then threatens that maybe that isn't a bad
idea! Sam shows up at Lucky's to tell him she can't use him as her
bodyguard anymore because she can't let him get involved in a war between
Sonny and his new enemy, Zacchara, who likes to target the families of his
enemies. She tells him she couldn't forgive herself if something happened
to him and his family because he was protecting her. She tries to leave
but Lucky stops her with his hand and tells her she needs protection too.
Elizabeth watches them from the top of the stairs and suspects Sam is up
to something again with her husband.
Carly asks
Jason how much danger she and her family is in with Zacchara after Sonny's
territory and Ric's father supposedly here to represent his interests.
Jason tells her that he doesn't have proof yet that Trevor Lansing is in
town to represent Zacchara and is after Sonny. Carly gets more scared by
what Jason is not saying and fears for her and the boys. Jason tells her
he wants her to have added bodyguards to protect her and the boys and
makes it clear to her that the decision is hers to make regarding how much
protection they need. Carly talks to the boys about not taking off from
their bodyguards by playing games with them like hide and seek and that
they need to stay by them all the time. Logan shows up at Carly's house.
Carly sends the boys upstairs with Leticia while she talks to Logan alone.
Logan apologizes to Carly for not showing up when he was suppose to guard
her kids and tells her it won't happen again. Carly doesn't like it when
he mentions Lulu's name as if he expects her to excuse him because he is
dating her cousin. Carly tells him that she doesn't trust him and that
Jason doesn't like him. She warns Logan that Jason has a way of getting
rid of people he doesn't like. Alexis heads over to see Jason to find out
about how much of a threat Zacchara is and if Kristina is in danger. Jason
tells her about Zacchara's threat to Sonny and tells her that they believe
that Trevor is working for Zacchara as his attorney.
Trevor tells
Sam that she looks very familiar and asks her if they have met before. Sam
tells him they haven't but explains that he may have seen her on
television since she hosts a program called "Everyday Heroes."
Trevor tells her he doesn't really watch much television and then
remembers seeing her in court testifying against Jason. He asks her if
Jason is as cold-blooded as he is known to be (Sam has the good sense to
look a bit nervous during his questioning). Jason asks Spinelli to go on
his computer and try to find out what Zacchara's business is and why he is
after Sonny and to find out how Trevor Lansing fits into all of this.
Trevor shows up while they are home working on the computer. Spinelli
tries to get rid of Trevor for Jason but Jason sends him upstairs to his
room so he can talk to Trevor. Trevor asks Jason if Spinelli is mentally
ill and if they are related. Jason doesn't respond to Trevor's insult and
asks him what he wants. Trevor tells him that he represents a third party
who is interested in making a deal with Jason.
Trevor
suggests that Jason meet with his client. Jason tells him that he doesn't
meet with anyone that he doesn't know who it is and he opens the door so
Trevor can leave. Jason warns Trevor with a message to Zaccara. Trevor
scoffs at Jason trying to intimidate him and tells him he might be able to
with Ric, but not with him. Georgie comes bounding up to visit Spinelli,
who hurried tries to usher her out. Trevor menacingly points out that
Jason has a lot to lose, looking pointedly at Spinelli, and suggests that
he rethink taking that meeting. As they bound up the stairs, Trevor points
out that an effective enforcer is a loner and doesn't allow himself
personal attachments Sonny and Jason realize that Zacchara is trying to
force their hand. Jason and Sonny go to see Carly at the Metro Court Hotel
where Jax has installed her and the children for extra security. They
insist that Carly move to Sonny's for increased protection. Sam continues
to try and work Lucky. She expresses her fear of Zaccara coming after her.
Elizabeth sees right through Sam and knows exactly what she's up to. Liz
points out that Sam is no longer with Jason and wouldn't be a target.
Lucky believes if Zaccara is as dangerous as everyone says then Sam is in
danger. Lucky seems oblivious to the game Sam is playing and asks Liz to
trust him as that is the only way their marriage is going to work, they
talk and commit to making their marriage work.
Jason and
Carly find Leticia has been murdered and they jump into action. Elizabeth
is on pins and needles after learning of what happened. While alone in the
house, Elizabeth retrieves the gun to protect herself. Liz becomes
frightened when she hears a noise outside, and takes Lucky's gun from the
closet. She opens the door to find Lucky standing there. He is perturbed
that she is carrying his gun, and questions why she did not call him
first. She tells him that when she called the station, she was told that
he was with Sam. She is not happy with the attention he is giving Sam. He
apologizes and acknowledges that she could be in danger by her involvement
with Jason. He tries to kiss her but she pulls away. As Lucky is sleeping
on the couch, he dreams about Sam in the hot tub and is awaken by Liz and
the kids. They get ready for the day, and Lucky offers to drive her to
work. She says she'll manage on her own. She doesn't want to make him late
for work. Later, Lucky shows up and tells Liz that her grandma is going to
watch the boys tonight so they can have some alone time. She tells him she
doesn't think that is a good idea right now. When Emily shows up later,
the two women talk about the Spencer's current relationship. Liz tells her
that she knows Lucky wanted to have sex tonight, but she's not ready
yet.
Jason tries
to get Spinelli out of his depression to start looking for information on
Trevor. Lulu barges in and starts yelling at Jason about Logan losing his
job. She says she has done favors for him, so he owes her. She asks for
some privacy and Spinelli leaves to sit in the coffee shop. Logan shows
up, and Spinelli blasts him for sending Lulu in to defend him. Logan is
stunned, though. Meanwhile, Lulu tells Jason that Logan's error in showing
up late to watch the kids was just a mistake. Jason points out that it was
a mistake that could have gotten the kids killed. He tells her about
Leticia being murdered. Lulu explains that Logan has done tours in Iraq
and knows how to handle dangerous situations. Jason says that doesn't mean
he can be trusted. Lulu vouches for Logan and says that he can be trusted.
Jason says the decision is Sonny's, not his. Lulu tells Jason that no one
could have prepared for Leticia being murdered, not even him. He's blaming
Logan for something know one else knew of, either. She storms out and then
yells at Spinelli for using his friendship with Jason to get Logan fired.
Logan interjects and tells her she had no right to go behind her back. He
appreciates her effort, but he doesn't need her help in getting his job
back. Spinelli runs back in the office to tell Jason something, but he
gets cut off by Diane. She storms in to see Jason and throws a restraining
order on his desk. She tells him to make sure Trevor is the right man he's
after, because she won't be able to get him out of jail if he violates the
restraining order Trevor got against him. As they argue, the phone rings.
It is Sam. She desperately needs his help.
Jason shows
up at Sam's new place after she calls him to tell him she is in danger and
needs his help. When he gets to her place, he realizes that she lied to
him about it. She tells him she asked him to come by so they could talk
and leads him to her hot-tub outside her apartment. She tells him she
plans to seduce Lucky and she wanted to let him know. Jason tells her he
doesn't care what she does and now he realizes he can't trust a word that
she says to him anymore. Sam can't believe he wouldn't help her if she
truly was in danger. Jason tells her he would help her but he would have
to see her in danger with his own eyes to trust it since he can't believe
her anymore. Sam tells him that she hates him and that she wouldn't even
call him to save her if she was crawling naked over a floor of broken
glass. Jason leaves her alone.
Elizabeth
confides in Emily about the lack of intimacy in her marriage to Lucky and
how she doesn't know how to get back the connection they once so easily
shared before Lucky got addicted to pills and slept with Maxie. Emily asks
her if she still is attracted to Lucky. Elizabeth doesn't have an answer
and evades the question. Later, she returns home to find Lucky has lit
some candles around the house with a nice romantic evening planned. Lucky
comes downstairs and tells her he brought the kids to Audrey's because he
felt it was important for them to spend some time alone. Lucky reminds her
how they once couldn't keep their hands off of each other and would spend
weekends in bed together. Elizabeth tells him a lot has happened since
then and pushes him away. Lucky finally loses his patience with her and
asks her how she thinks he can remain faithful to her and their marriage
if she continues to push him away.
Sonny has
his goons bring Jerry into his office. Jerry tries to be entertaining with
his dry wit. Sonny ignores his comments about Max and Milo and asks him
point-blank what business does he have with Anthony Zacchara. Jerry
explains to him that he wanted to meet Zacchara personally for a meeting
face to face after Trevor Lansing approached him about making a deal. He
tells Sonny that he isn't interested in doing business with a third party
and so he set up the meeting, unaware that telling Jax would be such a
mistake. Jax tried to intercept the meeting and his car blew up. Jerry
points out that he wants to make sure that Jax and his family stay out of
danger and that Sonny wants the same thing.
Jason pays
Kate a visit out on her patio after she conducts business on the phone.
She is scared when he comes over to her quietly and she doesn't hear him
approach. Jason asks her to tell him everything she knows about Trevor
Lansing. He asks her to tell him if he ever mentioned anything about his
business to her. She admits that he told her that he represents Zacchara
but insists he had nothing to do with the murder of Leticia. She tells
Jason that she has recently found Trevor to be more sinister than she
thought he was and warned Jason to be careful around him. Sonny has Trevor
brought to his office. Trevor reminds Sonny that he has a restraining
order against him and he will have him arrested for ignoring it. Sonny
demands that Trevor tell him about what Zacchara is up to and what he
wants from him. He accuses Trevor of having his kids' nanny murdered.
Trevor denies having anything to do with the nanny's murder. He starts to
bring up the past again about Sonny's mother to trigger Sonny's temper. It
works but Sonny tells him that he can get a message to his client about
watching his back because there will be payback for what he has done.
Trevor warns him to watch out. Jason shows up at his office to talk about
what he found out from Kate. Jason wonders if Zacchara was responsible for
Leticia's murder after all and if Trevor was behind it. Sonny insists that
Trevor is behind it and reveals that this is more than just business when
he tells Jason to kill Trevor for him. Jason realizes that Sonny has
emotional reasons for wanting Trevor dead and asks Sonny if Kate has
something to do with it.
Nikolas
shows up at Liz's and apologizes for coming over so late. He tells her
that he went to Sam's to get her to back off of Lucky. Lucky showed up,
though. When he left, Lucky was still there. Liz guesses that they are
"going at it". Nikolas is surprised that she sounds so calm
about it. She's not surprised at the news, though. She just has to figure
out what to do now. Later, Jerry pays Jason a visit and tells him not to
kill Trevor. Jerry tells Jason that Carly, Jax, and the kids are a
priority to him, too. He wants Trevor to remain alive, though. Sonny can't
see past his emotions right now. They need Trevor alive to get information
on Zacchara. If Trevor is killed, Carly and the kids will be a target. He
warns Jason that Zacchara will strike and go for the jugular, and he walks
out. Sonny comes home furious from Kate's. He tells Jason that he wants
Trevor dead now. Jason tells him that Trevor must remain alive for now. He
explains that Trevor has information that they need. Sonny says he's not
going to ask again. Do what he says. Jason says fine. He will start
setting it up. He will let Sonny give the final word. Jason leaves.
Elizabeth
tells Nikolas she believes her husband is being unfaithful to her even as
they speak. Across town, Lucky and Sam begin to make love. Robin points
out to Jason how ironic it is that they're both alone again. Patrick is
irked to see Robin arrive at the hospital on the back of Jason's
motorcycle. Elizabeth admits to Emily that she cares for Lucky, but the
love they felt for each other is no longer there. Sonny berates Jason for
listening to Jerry instead of following orders. Emily urges Jason to go be
with Elizabeth now that the Spencers' marriage seems to be over for good.
Lucky comes home and asks Liz if she wants to know where he was. He goes
ahead and tells her that he was with Sam. She doesn't say anything at
first, but then wonders why he insists on bringing up Sam's name. He
questions if she has a problem with his friendship with Sam and Liz tells
him she's just tired of fighting with him. He tells her that since they
have an open marriage, she should feel free to see Jason as much as she
wants. When she responds that it's not safe to be associated with Jason,
Lucky accuses her of only being with him because it's dangerous to be with
Jason. She tells him that she wants to give their marriage a try, but
wonders if it is too late. He tells her that he is willing to give it a
try, although it's going to take time to get back to where they
were.
Emily visits
Jason and tells him about the Spencer marriage that is on the rocks. She
encourages him to go to Elizabeth. When he is hesitant, she asks him what
he wants. He responds that he wants what he cannot have. He cannot be sure
that Elizabeth and the children would be safe with him, as Michael and
Morgan were kidnapped and lost their nanny because of the violence that
surrounds them. Jason comes home to find Spinelli making a cocktail. Jason
tells him you can't bury your pain in liquor. Jason tells him sometimes
that there is no cure for a broken heart. He tries to tell himself that
Elizabeth and the kids are better off without him. He gives Spinelli a pep
talk by telling him that Logan is a screw up. In time, Logan will hurt
Lulu and Spinelli needs to be there to stand by her. They are interrupted
by Logan, who is looking for Lulu. Spinelli freaks out and wants to know
what to know what Logan has done to her. He finally tells them about the
fight, and Jason tells him to stay away from Lulu.
As Liz and
Lucky get the boys ready for the day, Jason shows up. He wants to talk to
Lucky alone. Liz tells them to step outside. Jason wants to know if Lucky
has heard from Lulu. Lucky asks if this is what he's using as an excuse to
check on his wife. Jason explains what happened between Lulu and Logan.
Lucky doesn't understand why Jason is so involved. Liz comes out and asks
if something happened to Lulu. Jason explains again, and Lucky says he
will call in a few favors to see if they can get started on a search for
her. He goes to the station, while Liz gets on the phone trying to get
more information. Emily shows up and reminds Liz that she and Lucky used
to live on the streets. Lulu will be fine. Liz points out that she and
Lucky had each other. Lulu is all alone. She tells Emily about Jason
showing up. Emily wants to know how Lucky dealt with that. Liz says it was
uncomfortable because she had put all her faith and trust in Jason for so
long. She married Lucky when she was in love with Jason. Liz says that she
misses the way she and Lucky used to be. Emily tells her she needs to take
the final step.
Jason
returns home bearning food for Spinelli. He is excited to see the chips
but Jason tells him that he also has to eat the sandwhich. Spinelli is
having a meltdown and Jason assures him they are doing everything they can
to find Lulu. Spinelli says it's not enough. He calls himself "the
Grasshopper" and Jason tells him to stop and speaking Spinelli's
lingo tells him he is "the Jackal" and Jason likes that term
(not the grasshopper). This seems to focus Spinelli and reconfident he
returns to track Lulu. They look for a security camera that might have
footage of Lulu. They find an image of her crying on camera. She's
hitchhiking. A car stops, she gets in, and they speed away. Jason runs a
trace on the license plate. While they wait for the results, Jason tells
Spinelli that Lulu and Carly are a lot alike. They both do bad things when
they're upset, but there's nothing you can do to stop either one of them.
The results from the license plate trace come back. The car is registered
to Johnny Zucchara. Jason and Spinelli show up at Sonny's office to see
him while he is talking to Diane about Kate's case. Spinelli goes off
about Lulu being in danger from Johnny Zacchara and they need to find her
before harm comes to her. Sonny can't understand what he is saying and
asks Jason to translate for him. Jason tells him that Spinelli hacked into
some surveillance cameras on his computer and they traced the car Lulu got
into as belonging to Johnny Zacchara and they need Sonny to tell them what
he knows about him. Sonny only knows that Johnny is Anthony's son. Diane
reminds Sonny that Kate is going to be arrested soon and he will have to
go now and see Kate before that happens.
Meanwhile,
Diane asks Epiphany, Elizabeth, and Emily to run interference with the
reporters so that Kate can be released from the hospital and arrested
without them seeing her. Diane notices Elizabeth is out in the hallway
waiting for her cue to run interference. Diane raises her voice to be
heard and yells at Mac for making Kate be escorted out the front entrance
where all the reporters will be to harass her. Elizabeth, Emily, and
Epiphany hold the reporters off by having all the breakfast trays and
gurneys block the front of the elevators to keep the reporters from seeing
Kate be escorted out by the police to the elevator. Their plan works.
Emily and Elizabeth discuss Lulu's disappearance. Emily thinks that Lulu
just took off because she is just like her father, Luke. Elizabeth is
worried that Lulu will do something reckless and get herself in trouble.
Elizabeth tells Emily about how Jason showed up at her house to talk to
Lucky about Lulu's disappearance and how he got upset over Logan. She
tells her that Lucky was very hostile toward him. Emily brings up the
possibility that Jason may have wanted to have an excuse to come by the
house to see her.
Jason shows
up at the police station with Johnny Zacchara's license plate number
written on a piece of paper to give to Lucky, who is very hostile toward
him and resents his involvement in searching for Lulu. Jason asks him if
he wants the information or not. Lucky doesn't take it and tells him he
will find the information on his own. Lucky gets into Jason's face about
how he doesn't trust his motives in finding Lulu. Jason tells him that
Lulu is his friend and wants to help find her. Lucky sees Sam walk into
the police station and then he looks at Jason. He tells Jason that he and
Logan have a lot in common, they both like to love them and leave them.
Jason sees Sam when he leaves the room. He glares at her. Jason drags
Trevor into Sonny's office at the coffee shop by gunpoint. He orders
Trevor to tell him everything he knows about Johnny Zacchara. Trevor tells
him that Johnny is crazy and that he witnessed his mother's murder at a
young age. He warns Jason that if anything bad happens to Johnny, no one
in Jason's family will be safe because Anthony cherishes his son very
much. Jason really starts to worry about Lulu's safety.
Jason shows
up and grabs Logan and pulls him away from Spinelli. He yells at Logan to
leave right now. Logan tells him that he can kill him if he wants to but
he is still going to go look for Lulu. Spinelli gets a lead on Johnny's
car. A cop finds the car abandoned off the highway and issues a parking
ticket since the yellow car is parked in a no parking zone. Spinelli finds
out about the ticket being issued to a car with the same license plate as
Johnny's. Jason and Spinelli head out to find the car. They find the car
abandoned also, however, Spinelli recognizes Lulu's necklace is lying
broken on the passenger seat inside the car. Jason checks under the hood
to see if the car has been disabled. They both hear Lulu's scream and run
toward the source. Lulu runs into the barn and hides up in the hayloft.
Johnny chases her inside the barn and notices a movement up in the
hayloft. He smiles and yells to Lulu that he knows where she is because he
can smell her. Johnny heads over to the hayloft and is ready to climb up
it when Jason comes into the barn and takes his gun out and points it at
Johnny and tells him to stop and put his hands up where he can see them.
Spinelli runs into the barn and jumps in front of Jason and yells at
Johnny to leave Lulu alone. This distracts Jason enough to give Johnny
time to pull out his own gun. Jason tells him to drop his gun or he will
shoot. Lulu jumps down from the hayloft and pleads for Jason not to shoot
him.
Lulu tells
everyone to stop and Spinelli pulls her back with him. Jason holds a gun
on Johnny. He tells Jason to go ahead and kill him. Lulu tries to reassure
them that Johnny didn't do anything to her. They just broke down and spent
the night there. Johnny called for help as soon as he found a phone.
Johnny's guards show up and tell him that his father wants to see him now.
Lulu is shocked to learn that Johnny has mob ties. He tells her it's his
father's business, not his. Johnny tries to scare Jason by pulling a gun
on him, but he's pulled off by his men. When Lulu, Spinelli, and Jason get
back to the penthouse, Spinelli and Jason explain how everyone was looking
for her after Logan's betrayal came out. She's mad at them because they
embarrassed her by revealing her foolishness to everyone. Jason is
concerned and asks for more details about her time with Johnny. After
finding out that Lulu was back, Logan tries to visit her at the penthouse.
Spinelli and Jason stop him from coming in. Lulu tells him she doesn't
want to talk to him right now. After Logan leaves, Jason decides he wants
to go back to the barn to check it out. While Spinelli and Lulu watch TV
and eat cereal, she apologizes to him and thanks him for finding her. When
Emily and Liz are about to get off work, they meet up to see if either one
of them had heard from Lulu yet. Liz checks her messages and finds out
that Lulu is in a barn. Liz decides to go get her. She shows up as Jason
is there looking around. He apologizes for showing up at her place
earlier. He comments on how big Jake is getting. He asks how she and Lucky
are. She says that Lucky is sleeping with Sam. He apologizes and tells her
that Sam knows he is Jake's father. Lulu decides to move in with Jason and
Spinelli. Tracy and Edward try to bring her home, embarrassed to have her
living with Jason. Edward would rather see her living in a room over
Kelly's rather than get shot while living at Jason's.
Jason
informs a stunned Elizabeth that Sam and Amelia have both known for months
that he is Jake's real father. Jason reveals to Elizabeth how Sam
witnessed Jake's kidnapping and later hired the thugs who menaced the
Spencer family in the park. Jason assures Elizabeth that Sam has been
effectively muzzled. Later, Elizabeth and Jason exchange declarations of
love. Robin confides to Elizabeth how much she misses Patrick since they
broke up. Lucky and Elizabeth consider calling it quits.
September 25
- Lucky tells Elizabeth that although he always believed that love would
conquer all, it should not be this hard. He tells her that it's time to
end their marriage. She agrees, and takes the blame for their problems.
She admits that she re-married him even though she knew that what they had
was over. He tells her that they will always be connected because of the
children. Emily goes to see Elizabeth. When she suggests that Elizabeth
and Jason now have a chance, Liz tells her it is not an option because of
their incompatible lives. Later, Diane visits Liz in response to her
message. She asks Diane to handle her divorce from Lucky. Spinelli tells
Jason about the text message that Sonny received about Leticia's murder.
Carly learns about Lucky and Elizabeth's divorce. She storms over to the
penthouse and demands that Jason stay away from Liz. Lucky returns to the
house, and Elizabeth tells him that Diane will be handling the divorce.
She tells him that she and they boys will leave the next morning.
Septemver 26
- Liz brings home boxes to pack up her things. When she sees Lucky, she
tells him that she's leaving some clothes and toys for the boys when they
come over. He's surprised that everything is moving so fast. She says
their marriage has been over for awhile. They decide to talk to the boys
together about the divorce. Liz tells him she's only going to take what
she brought into the marriage, and he can see the kids any time he wants.
Lucky holds Jake and talks to him, and Liz tells him she knows how much he
loves the kids. She tells him she'll only be staying at Audrey's until she
can find a place of her own. He tells her he will help her with alimony
and child support. She says she told Diane that she doesn't want any money
from him. He asks what kind of man he would be if he didn't take care of
his boys. Liz goes to get Cameron and they both talk to him about mommy
and daddy not living together anymore. He claps his hands when she tells
him they are going to live with Gram. Lucky tells him he will always be
loved, no matter what.
Liz tells
Emily that they broke the news together to Cameron. She doesn't know how
much he understood. Emily reassures her and tells her that he knows both
of his parents love him. She asks what is left to do. Liz tells her
there's still the closet to clean out and she needs to decide what to
leave there for the boys. Emily asks her if she's having second thoughts.
Liz says she just hurts right now. She's packing up all the reminders of
the dreams she and Lucky used to share. Its better that they're ending
things now, though. There's nothing worse than lying to yourself that
everything is ok when you know it's now. Emily decides to use that
opportunity to talk to Liz about Nikolas. They both comment on his
moodiness and anger. It must be the Cassadine genes. Liz tells him that
Emily's love will get him through it. Emily says that it's important to
have someone to rely on. She asks if she will be alright at Audrey's. Liz
thinks Lucky will be keeping an eye on them. She's going to get her own
place soon, though. It will be hard, because she doesn't have very much
money. Emily offers to help out with money, but Liz declines. She tells
her that she and Lucky already had that argument. She hopes that once the
divorce is final, Lucky will stop feeling guilty and they can be parents
together. Emily leaves to take a load over to Audrey's house. Lucky comes
back and asks if there's anything he can do to help. Liz tells him that
she left a pan in the oven for making brownies when the kids come over. He
says it won't be the same. She says they won't know any different. He
didn't think she would be gone so soon. She says she hopes he spends lots
of time with Cameron. He will be confused. She asks to keep a set of keys
if that's ok. He tells her no. He says don't go.
Spinelli has
prepared a strange breakfast, but doesn't let Jason have any of it. He
explains that it's for Lulu. When Lulu comes downstairs, she opts for just
coffee. He starts to get it for her, but she tells him to stay and talk to
Jason while she gets it. Spinelli tells Jason that Lulu just isn't used to
being pampered. Jason says that maybe Lulu just doesn't eat breakfast.
Jason wants Spinelli to focus. They need to find out who killed Leticia.
Spinelli mentions that it may be hard to do from the text messages. Lulu
walks back in and asks if they're really getting text messages from the
killer. Spinelli starts to talk, but Jason interrupts him and says that
this doesn't concern Lulu. Lulu wonders aloud why the cops aren't
involved. Jason says that Lulu is welcome to stay there but she can't ask
any questions about the business. He also says that Spinelli can't tell
her anything that will put her in danger. Spinelli tells Lulu to not ask
questions and to not eavesdrop and she won't have to pay rent or go back
to the Quartermaines. Lulu tells them they should know by now that she can
keep her mouth shut. If she hears anything, her lips are sealed. When she
leaves, Spinelli tells Jason that he traced the text messages back to
Mike's phone. Jason leaves to go talk to Sonny and Spinelli sees that Lulu
gets a text message. It's from Johnny. "You don't get rid of me that
easy." Spinelli is stunned that she's still in communication with
Johnny Zacchara. Jason won't be pleased about this. Lulu begs him not to
tell. He says he can't let her charms get to him. He must tell Jason. It's
too dangerous. She says she can't live there if he doesn't respect her
privacy. If he doesn't promise not to tell Jason about the text messages,
she's going to move out.
When Jason
gets to Sonny's office, he tells him about the text messages coming from
Mike's phone. Sonny thinks Spinelli is on drugs. Jason explains that it's
piggybacking. The messages didn't actually come from Mike's phone, but
when traced, it appears that way. They talk about who it could be. Jason
says that Johnny acts like he has a death wish. Sonny thinks it could be
Trevor. Jason goes home and tells Spinelli to keep trying to find out who
is responsible for the text messages. He tells him to hack into whoever is
close to Zacchara. Spinelli hesitates, which causes Jason to get
suspicious. Spinelli won't spill Lulu's secret, though. She comes in and
tells Jason that she has been texting Johnny and that she asked Spinelli
to keep it a secret. Jason tells her that she doesn't get to use
Spinelli's feelings against him. Jason takes the phone and asks Spinelli
if Lulu's text messages are from the same phone the messages about Leticia
were from. Lulu asks if they think Johnny killed Leticia.
Lucky has
second thoughts about the divorce and suggests to Elizabeth that she and
the boys stay. Elizabeth is surprised by his change of heart and tells him
that she doesn't think it is a good idea for them to stay and work on a
marriage that is over. Lucky tells her that he can move out and she and
the boys can stay and live in the house. Elizabeth turns down his offer
and tells him that this home belongs in his family and he should live
there. Lucky tells her that he has always wanted her to be happy. Emily
shows up and asks Elizabeth if she is done packing and ready to leave.
Elizabeth tells her she is ready and they drive off. Lucky watches them
leave and can't help but be sad. Emily helps Elizabeth with her things and
getting moved in with Audrey. Elizabeth is still sad about the divorce and
feels like a failure. Emily tries to reassure her that she isn't a failure
because her marriage to Lucky failed. Elizabeth can't believe that she has
so little belongings left from her marriage and doesn't know what she is
going to do next. Emily tells her that she should think about being with
Jason now that she is divorcing Lucky since he makes her happy. Elizabeth
tells her she can't be with Jason because it wouldn't be safe for her
children. Elizabeth plays with the baby and tells him she will take care
of him from now on and make sure he is always safe.
Spinelli
obsesses about why Lulu wouldn't eat the breakfast he made her. Jason
tells him that he doesn't want him to get hurt by hoping that if Lulu
lives with them long enough she will fall in love with him. Spinelli tells
him that he hopes that would happen but that he is happy with her just
living with them. Sonny shows up at Jason's place and orders Spinelli to
leave the room. Spinelli tries to tell him he is working on the text
message for him. Sonny doesn't care and tells him to leave. Spinelli
refers to Sonny as the "Godfather" which irritates Sonny, who
asks him not to call him that ever again. Spinelli leaves the penthouse.
Sonny tells Jason about his argument with Carly and how she is being
really stubborn about leaving her house to take the boys with her to live
with him. Jason tells him that Carly has a right to decide how she wants
to be protected and that she knows she needs to be safe. Sonny disagrees
with Jason and tells him that he may want to keep his son away from him to
keep him safe but he wants his boys with him right now.
Carly gets
scared when she comes into the living room and finds the front door is
ajar. She closes the door and locks it and jumps out of her skin when she
sees someone in her house. She realizes it is Jason but gives him hell for
scaring her like that. Jason tells her he was doing that to prove a point
to her, that she isn't safe at the house. Carly guesses right when she
tells him that she figured Sonny would go running to him to complain about
her and how he would order him to come talk some sense into her to
persuade her to move herself and the boys into Sonny's mansion. Jason asks
her how she thinks she is safe. Carly tells him that Jax is going to take
care of her and the boys. Jason tells her he doesn't see Jax around so he
wonders how he is protecting her and the boys. She tells him about how Jax
sent a message to Zacchara, threatening to get the IRS involved in
investigating his shady business. Jason points out that Jax's plan will
only anger Zacchara more and won't hold him off for long before he targets
her and the boys again. Carly tells him she is staying at home. Jason
tells her he will come around more often and check on her and the boys.
Carly tells him he can come over and hang out at the house anytime he
wants to. However, she gets him angry when she tells him that if he comes
to her house more then Elizabeth won't get the chance to come to his
penthouse and try to claim him now that she is divorcing Lucky. Jason
keeps his mouth shut at first until Carly goes on about how Elizabeth will
try to use her baby to get to him. Jason yells at Carly to shut up about
Elizabeth and to never talk about Elizabeth like that again. He tells her
that he would love it if he could have someone like Elizabeth and her boys
to come home to but he can't because he could never put them in danger
like that. Carly is left speechless after hearing Jason reveal his
feelings for Elizabeth. Emily accompanies Elizabeth as she goes hunting
for a new home.
Trevor stops
by Carly's house to warn her to keep Lulu away from Johnny Zacchara
because he is very unpredictable and dangerous. Jason shows up at Carly's
house and tells Trevor to talk to him or Sonny if he has any questions or
concerns about Johnny and leave Carly out of it. Trevor tells Jason that
he just came by to warn Carly to keep Lulu away from Johnny because of his
unpredictable behavior. Jason tells him he understands his concerns about
Johnny and they will keep everyone away from him. After Trevor leaves,
Jason asks Carly what she did to bring Trevor over to her house to warn
her. Carly denies doing anything but Jason doesn't quite believe she is
telling him everything. (This confrontation is continued onto the start of
the next edit, Jason & Liz #9).
