Jason
& Liz #3 August 2 - Oct 22, 2002 - 8 hr original edit
Jason chastises Carly for keeping
something from Sonny and warns her she is headed for trouble again (he had
overheard her conversation with Kristina). Carly getting defensive and tells
Jason that although he may not lie outright, he has on occasion kept quiet and
lied by omission. Jason tells Carly that he will no longer help her keep things
from Sonny. Carly asks what is wrong and Jason admits that he didn’t do
something that Sonny told him to do and now dreads having to tell Sonny that he
let him down. Jason wonders how Carly can tell lie after lie, especially to
Sonny, when they only lead to trouble. Before she can say anything Sonny enters
and asks to speak with Jason alone. Jason hesitantly tells Sonny that he ordered
Zander to leave town. Sonny confesses that he already knows and explains about
his encounter with Liz. He asks why Jason got “creative” with an order but
realizes it was for Liz’s sake. Sonny tells Jason that he agreed to let Zander
stay and Jason thanks him for his generosity. Sonny comments that he didn’t do
it for Liz but for Jason. Sonny asks Jason to never betray him again and
comments that if Zander messes up again he will be dealt with. Later, Sonny
tells Carly not to go anywhere without a guard. He instructs her that if
anything out of the ordinary happens she should call him immediately. Carly asks
what is wrong But Sonny can only tell her that he has a feeling something bad is
coming and it will get worse before it gets better. Zander arrives on the docks
but doesn’t see Liz. He calls the studio but gets no answer. The captain of
the boat tells Zander that they are about to depart and refuses to wait any
longer for Liz to appear. He sternly informs Zander that the ship is sailing
with or without him.
Liz arrives on the docks and
finds no sign of Zander. She stands looking out at the water forlornly when
Zander suddenly appears behind her. Liz is happy when Zander tells her he
couldn’t leave without her. He is a bit annoyed when Liz informs him that she
spoke to Sonny and got him a pardon. But he agrees to do what ever she wants so
that they can stay together. Jason walks by and is an unhappy observer of Liz
and Zander’s happy embrace.
A woman (going by the
shoes-which is all we get to see) enters the warehouse. Meanwhile the lights on
the timing device start to flash furiously. Roy rushes to the door and reaches
it just as an explosion rocks the building. Roy is sent flying backwards from
the force of the blast. The little box with the red lights was a bomb. He has
seen a woman pinned beneath some debris. This lady is Kristina who is lying in a
pool of blood. Alexis comes and gets almost hysterical when she sees her sis
lying in a bloody, unconscious state. Jason arrives outside the warehouse, just
as Liz arrives. He makes her wait outside as it is too dangerous. Jason enters
the warehouse. Just as Liz is about to follow him in Zander comes running up. He
too tells her to wait outside. She refuses saying she knows what it is like to
be trapped and she wants to help so they too enter the devastated building.
Alexis is hysterically begging them to help her sister. Zander, Jason, and Roy
all work to free Kristina. Jason warns that if they move her she could be
paralyzed. Roy warns if they don't move her immediately she could die. Jason
asks Alexis to make the decision. She says to move Kristina to get her out of
there. Carly calls Alexis on her cell phone to warn her not to go to the
warehouse that Kristina is on her way! Jason calls Carly and asks where Sonny
is. He is relieved to hear Sonny isn't in the warehouse. Carly says no that he
was taken down to the PD. Jason tells her about Kristina being hurt real bad.
Kristina is rushed to GH for an
emergency operation. Roy and Jason get into a fight arguing over whose fault the
explosion is. Jason tells Roy that he is going to pay for putting the bomb here.
He tells Zander this too. Roy tells him that he did not set the bomb. A
hotheaded Zander grabs a gun and points it at Jason. Jason tries to grab the
gun, it goes off accidentally and wounds Liz. It's a flesh wound on her
shoulder. Zander brokenly says it was an accident. Jason is concerned about her
going into shock, and puts pressure on the wound. He tries to get her to look at
him and focus as she is starting to go into shock. The police arrive, Garcia
yells at Jason to put his hands behind his head and move away from the girl.
When they ask who shot her, Liz will not say. Zander begs Garcia to help Liz to
stop the bleeding. Jason steps forward and says he can stop the bleeding
(remember he was pre-med before his own accident). He wraps her arm with gauze
and reassures her that the bullet only grazed her and she will be all right.
Garcia carries her off to the waiting ambulance. Policemen handcuff Jason,
Zander, and Roy to take them into the station. Sonny has already been questioned
by a boiling Scott Baldwin. Jason is handcuffed to the desk. Mac complains that
talking to Jason is like talking to a tree stump. He accuses that Jason got her
shot as she wouldn't have been there had it not been for Jason. Mac says he
doesn't believe that either Roy or Jason set that bomb and wants to know who
did. Cut to Roy and Alcazar meeting in the limo, Alcazar knowingly asks if
DeLuca got his message? Scott demands to know how Elizabeth Webber got shot.
Scott tries to use Zander and
Jason’s mutual dislike to get each to incriminate the other, but not
surprisingly they both clam up and refuse to talk to him without their lawyers
present. As soon as they are released, both hightail it out of the station.
After Tony dresses Liz’s wound, Capelli demands that Liz tell him who shot
her. He reassuring says that a little more to the left she would be dead. He
warns her that Jason is bad news and so is Zander Smith and he wants to know who
shot her! Liz refuses to incriminate either Jason or Zander and claims that the
gun went off accidentally when it was dropped. Shortly after, Jason shows up and
apologizes for the mishap. Liz is hurt when Jason encourages her to leave town
as he cannot guarantee her safety, especially with Zander around. Liz asks Jason
if he really wants her to leave, but Zander shows up before Jason can tell Liz
what he really wants. Zander escorts Liz home, but before leaving she casts
Jason a longing look. On his way out, Jason comes across an upset Carly who
confesses that she feels responsible for Kristina’s accident that it is her
fault. Jason asks why and Carly confesses that Kristina was at the penthouse
looking for Sonny and she sent Kris away. She tearfully says that Alexis blames
her for the explosion. Jason promises to find out who set the bomb. Next he
confronts Roy who swears he had nothing to do with it.
At Kristina's funeral, a scene
is caused when Sonny, Carly, Jason, Roy and Felicia show up at the service. Ned,
Jax and Nik all insist they leave but Sonny refuses to go claiming that Alexis
called and personally invited him. The other two echo him. Liz arrives and asks
Jason why he is there, he says because Alexis invited him. Alexis finally shows
up, dressed in red, and thanks everyone for helping her commemorate her
sister’s murder. Alexis begins the service by drawing telling everyone that
the garden location was chosen because of the abundance of flowers, which
Kristina loved. She then invites others to share their memories of Kris. Jax
talks about bringing Alexis and Kris together and says every one should be
grateful to have known her. Nik points out the irony of how Kristina hoped to
change the Cassadine family tradition of revenge, deceit and violence only to be
killed by the things she hated. Ned recalls his first meeting with Kris, her
passion for rearranging furniture and how she changed him from day one. Alexis
takes the podium again and draws everyone’s attention to fact that she is now
wearing both pieces of the necklace she and Kristina got from their mother. She
tells everyone that she is wearing red to express the rage she feels at Kris
untimely death. She then tells everyone one that Sonny, Jason and Roy all have
Kristina’s blood on their hands. After the service is over Alexis approaches
Monica and thanks her for her efforts in trying to save Kristina’s life. She
also tells Edward that Kristina was very fond of him. Alexis then turns her
attention to Roy whom she calls a mobster wannabe that managed to get her sister
killed in a matter of weeks. Next is Jason, Alexis calls him a black sheep and
makes him sound as though he where no more than Sonny’s robot. Alexis then
asks Sonny if he is proud of Jason, Carly tries to interrupt, but Ned tells her
to keep quiet. Alexis then turns her full wrath on Sonny. She comments that she
could fall back on family tradition and call for all out revenge, or many be
even put a curse on him. Then she notes that it’s not needed because Sonny
already brings to everyone he touches. She asks if Carly isn’t worried she
won’t wake up one day and reminds everyone that she herself almost died twice
because of Sonny. The really harsh blow comes when Alexis names all who have
died because of him-his mother, Lily & her baby, Brenda, & Carly’s
baby. Alexis says that she thinks Sonny deserves a trophy of outliving everyone
and tries to hand him Kristina’s urn. Sonny refuses to take it and the urn
falls to the ground, spilling its contents. Alexis is appalled at what she has
done and sinks into a sobbing heap at Sonny’s feet. Sonny chastises Ned for
not stopping Alexis sooner and says Ned needs to take better care of the unborn
baby. Everyone leaves when Nik asks them to this time. Ned asks Alexis is she
will be okay.
Sonny and Jason approach Roy
and Felicia on the docks. Felicia insists on being present when Sonny tells Roy
he wants to discuss business. Sonny offers to help stop Roy’s backer in
exchange for the person’s name. Roy flat out refuses the offer and he and
Felicia take off. Sonny tells Felicia to be extra careful. Liz comes upon Jason
standing alone on the docks. Liz tries to comfort him. He says that Alexis is
right that people around him get hurt and sometimes they die. Jason tells her
she is safer with Zander as he is out of this now. Liz tells Jason that she
knows the risks and is willing to take them. She takes his hand and tells him
that for this one night she doesn’t want to be safe.
Zander tells Roy he's ready to
go back to work for him. Roy tries to discourage Zander from the mob life, but
Zander is adamant. Zander claims Sonny betrayed his loyalty, and Zander wants to
work for Roy to exact revenge. Roy gives Zander a large check as severance pay
and tells Zander to leave town and take Elizabeth with him. He tells him this is
what Roy wishes someone would have done for him about a 100 years ago. Zander
accepts the check but tells Roy he is wrong.
Liz uses Jason' s credit card
to gain entry into Kelly's but inadvertently destroys the card. Jason breaks a
pane of glass to gain entry instead. Jason cuts his hand breaking in, and Liz
plays nurse. He assures her that he is all right. She insists on bandaging it
and tells him it is useless to argue with her. She tells him that she meant
every word she said the other night. He tells her that it doesn't matter. Jason
confronts her about her previous decision to leave town with Zander. She says it
was only to save Zander's life, and not for romantic reasons that he has been
good to her. Liz alludes to how they feel about each other, but nothing
definitive is resolved. As Jason and Liz leave, Zander shows up. Liz tries to
convince Zander to leave town without her for his own protection. He questions
her motives on the night they made love, and Liz claims it was mutual need.
Zander tells Liz that, as much as she hated being Lucky's Pity Project, that's
how much he hates being hers.
Liz waits on Sonny and he asks
to speak to Courtney. Courtney tries to avoid him but finally speaks to him as
Liz tells her she really doesn't want to get caught in the middle between them.
Jason arrives and tells Liz that he doesn't want to be responsible for her
getting hurt. He says his wound starting bleeding again last night and it
reminded him of her getting shot. He tells her to forget about him, that a
relationship is not worth it. Courtney and Liz take a break and chat. Courtney
asks about Liz relationship towards Sonny. Courtney wonders why Sonny is not his
charming self around his own sister but can be around everyone else. Liz
explains how Sonny can be protective of the people he cares about and sometimes
goes about it in funny ways. Maybe she could give him another chance. Courtney
tells her things are too complicated right now.
Jason informs Sonny that some
deal went well. Sonny tries to figure out what Roy is up to and who is Alcazar
and why he is going after him. He knows this is not a power struggle. Sonny
explains that if they wait long enough, Roy will get nervous and Alcazar will
get impatient. They will find Alcazar's weakness and use it. Roy sits down at a
table outside Kelly's. Courtney sees him and asks Liz to take the table, she
agrees. Jax sits down with Roy and implies that Roy took the map. Roy denies it.
He threatens to destroy Roy if he doesn't return it by tonight. Sonny and Jason
walk by and ask why Jax looks so stressed "Is Mr. De-lu-ca giving you
trouble?" Sonny asks Roy what he's up to and who he's working for. Jax
counters saying that maybe Roy is working for Sonny trying to destroy Jax. Sonny
tells him to stop hiding behind Brenda's memory and if he wants to come for him
to do it. Jax threatens that he might do that once he's finished with Roy. Jax
walks away. Sonny asks Roy again who he's working for. Roy walks away. Sonny
tells Jason that maybe Jax will lead them to Roy's boss.
Jason is at the counter paying
Liz for his ordered. He tells her the tip is on the table, but Liz has another
idea. Take me for a ride, just the two of us, she asks. He tells her that it’s
too dangerous right now and that they can’t be together so to forget about
that ride and he leaves. Courtney comes up and tells Liz that she will cover her
shift if Liz wants to take off with Jason. Liz tells Courtney, thanks but he
doesn’t seem to be interested. Liz perks up when Courtney tells her that he
seemed pretty interested to her. Liz begins to explain her relationship with
Jason to Courtney, how he makes her feel and how she can be herself with him.
She is sick of people telling her how to live her life.
Jason receives a mysterious
phone call from a man telling him to be somewhere in a hour. Jason asks who it
is then says that he doesn’t want any lackeys to meet him, he wants the real
thing. The mystery caller hangs up without saying anything. Jason leaves for
what he thinks is a meeting with Alcazar. Jason arrives for his mysterious
meeting, thinking its with Alcazar. He nervously begins to pace. He hears
something from behind and spins around pulling his gun out and calling out for
Alcazar. But, it is really Elizabeth. He tells her again that its not safe and
that they can’t be together. She admits that she had a bus boy at Kelly’s
make the call to Jason. Jason begs her to stay away from him. I will, in public,
she replies. Who will find us here? No one followed me. She knows how dangerous
everything is right now, but everything is a risk, can’t they just take a
chance and enjoy there moment alone together? No, he replies. He starts to walk
away, but Liz calls out after him. You’re such a liar! She yells. I have never
lied to you, Jason responds. Your not running away to protect me, your running
away to protect yourself, Liz tells him. She apologizes for how she treated him
during the whole Zander escapade. She never intended to hurt him or make him
think that what they had was worthless. Again, he tells her that its too
dangerous and he just wants her out of this. Angrily, Liz informs him that she
would miss him too much if he just disappeared out of his life. She would miss
they way she felt around him, how she can just be herself and how he cares like
no one ever has before. She all but tells him that she loves him. He finally
gives into temptation. He places his hand on her cheek and pulls her in for a
tender and romantic kiss. After, he slowly and reluctantly lets go and walks
away leaving Liz utterly breathless and speechless.
Outside of Kelly's, Roy tells
Jason that if Sonny wants to talk to him, he can meet him at the Oasis because
Roy won’t go to Sonny's penthouse. Jason tries to ignore Liz outside Kelly's
but she calls him on it. He tells her they are getting too close and it has to
stop. She responds, "To what exactly? Danger?" As he leaves he tells
her that he has someplace to be and for her not to show up there. Jason shows up
at the penthouse and gives Sonny Roy's message. He offers to bring Roy in
forcibly but Sonny is willing to be generous since he is sure Roy will be more
cooperative after their meeting.
The new bodyguards haul Liz up
to Sonny’s PH after they find her waiting for Jason in the parking lot.
Luckily for Liz someone is there, unfortunately it’s Carly. Carly tells the
guards it’s ok then advises Liz to do what Jason says if she wants a chance
with him. Carly adds that if Liz pushes Jason too far, she will lose him. Liz
assures Carly that she doesn't need her advice regarding Jason. Carly predicts
that it won’t take long for Liz to get herself or Jason killed. Carly follows
Liz out to the elevator and continues to give her unsolicited advice. Neither
woman can see that Jason is at his door. Liz steps into the elevator and the
doors start to close. Carly steps around the wall with a final chastising remark
for Liz, then sees Jason. After Liz leaves, he walks up to Carly and asks why
she's messing in his personal life. Carly teases Jason about his feelings for
Liz, joking that Liz is stalking him. She says that Liz can't figure out how she
feels about Jason, that he is wild, dangerous, and hot, that Liz can't take her
eyes off of him. But she warns Jason that he is so intense and fearless and
fabulous that he scares Liz off that she can't decide what to do. He tells Carly
that it isn't like that but how he feels about Elizabeth is none of her
business. She kids him that he has it bad. He says it doesn't matter as he can't
get involved with anyone. She asks why should he be alone, that if Sonny can be
happy what can't Jason, why does he have to be alone. He says that Liz can't
accept the danger of his life. She tells him he has to find a real woman and
what is it with these wimpy little saccharine women. She says she wants him to
be happy even if it is with Liz. He says he got Liz kidnapped and shot. She
surprisingly defends his relationship with Liz and demands that he tell her that
he doesn't want to be with Liz, knowing he does. But she is worried that Liz
will get him killed. She says let Liz worry about whether she can live with his
life, whether she can deal with it. He says he already knows Liz can't. Carly
promises to help, she offers to give Liz pointers about living the mob life. He
teases her that he will ask Liz to paint her. She begs off and says okay she
won't call her a twit at least not to her face. He says all he wants is to
protect Liz. Sonny walks in exhausted, interrupting Jason and Carly's
conversation. They ask Sonny what's wrong, so Sonny tells the about Courtney
stripping at the Oasis. Jason and Carly are clearly shocked, and Sonny asks
Jason to watch over Courtney while she strips at Oasis. Jason immediately
agrees.
As Liz is closing up for the
night at Kelly's, she listens in on Alcazar telling Roy he's got something Sonny
wants. The next day, Liz approaches Carly saying that she needs to get a message
to Jason. Liz starts to explain that she has been looking all over town for
Jason and that he is not returning her phone calls and she has something very
important that she needs to tell him asks Carly if she will call Jason for her.
Calmly and rather nicely, Carly tells Liz that if Jason is not returning her
calls its for a good reason and that she should just let it be. Jason doesn’t
need her distracting him right now. Liz tells her that is not personal its
completely business. Carly asks if she’s been threatened. She replies that she
hasn’t but she has information that could save Jason’s life. Later, much
later, Liz arrives back from work. Her co-worker tells her that someone came in
looking for Zander.
Jason is telling Sonny that
when he arrived that the Oasis last night, Courtney had already left but he
found out that she is working tonight from 10-2. As Sonny is reminding him to
remain out of Courtney’s sight, but to be ready if something happens to her,
AJ bursts through the door. Angrily AJ tells Sonny that he found his jacket
stuffed in their closet. He tells his brother-in-law that he doesn’t care if
Courtney is his sister he is not welcome in his house. AJ continues to tell
Sonny that he gave him a chance to proved he cared about Courtney by going to
him when she was missing but he didn’t care if she was dead or alive he only
want to rip into AJ. AJ and Sonny are still in the middle of arguing when Jason
answers the phone. Carly relays Liz’s request. Jason asks if Liz is still
there and Carly explains that’s she left but will be at their “spot” and
he would know what it meant. Jason tells her that if she sees Liz to tell her he
will get there as soon as possible. Explains that AJ is in the penthouse right.
Courtney’s overhears Carly asks why AJ is there and she runs out of the
restaurant saying that she has a family emergency. AJ tells Sonny that Courtney
is the best thing that ever happened to him and that they both chose each other
over their families, so Sonny should just learn to deal with it. AJ tells Sonny
that he doesn’t want Courtney to become a target so order Sonny and his
brother to stay away from his wife. Sonny is ready to spill the beans to AJ
about his wife’s night time gig, but Jason’s steps in and prevents that from
happening.
Liz is waiting for Jason to
arrive at their spot. She hears his motorcycle and waits for him to come down.
She thanks him for coming even though she knows he didn’t want to. The first
thing he asks is if she’s hurt. She says she fine and then begins to explain
what she overhead at Kelly’s between Roy and Alcazar. She tells Jason that
Alcazar claims that Sonny won’t touch him because he has something Sonny wants
more than anything in the world. She asks Jason if he knows what Alcazar meant.
Jason responds by saying that this is proof Liz shouldn’t be involved. If
Alcazar had caught her, Jason explains, she wouldn’t be standing here telling
him what happened. Liz protests saying that she is positive Roy and Alcazar did
not know she was there, but Jason is adamant. He tells her that the next time
she in that type of situation, she should just turn and walk away. He doesn't
want her involved in any of this. He doesn't want her to die and he asks her not
to risk her life for him. She says maybe she wants to? Jason asks her point
blank if she liked being shot at. What would have happened if the bullet went
three inches over? Before walking away, Jason tells her that he has already held
her and watched her bleed once and he can’t do it again.
At the Oasis, Jason arrives for
his first shift as Courtney’s invisible bodyguard. He is obviously
uncomfortable and moves his way over the bar. Coleman approaches and introduces
himself. He begins asking Jason what kind of woman he is interested in. When
Jason remains mute, Coleman leaves, but not before telling him that if any of
the girls interest him to come and see him, everyone except the next act that
is, she’s spoken for. Jason watches in disgust as Coleman leaves and turns his
attention, briefly, to stage when Courtney appears and begins to dance. He is
watching from afar, when a big, biker dude decides he wants some real action
from “Daisy” and steps up on the stage. Jason is at the ready, but waits
until something happens. The big man, starts moving in on Courtney at which
point Jason jumps on stage and in a cool martial arts kinda move, knocks the guy
out and sends him flying off the stage. Courtney looks at her savior baffled.
Jason asks Courtney is she's ok. He tries to get her to go home. She demands to
know if her Sonny asked Jason to keep an eye on her. Coleman asks Courtney if
she's ok. He thanks Jason. Jason wants to keep talking to Courtney. Coleman
tells him that if he wants to talk to her, he has to pay for a table dance.
Jason gives Coleman the money and Courtney agrees to do so. She starts to dance
and Jason tells her to stop, he just wants to talk. He tells her he's there to
guard her on Sonny's orders. She tells him she doesn't need his help. Jason
tells her that if she doesn't agree to this, Sonny will close down the club.
Courtney agrees to let Jason tag along.
Jason unexpectedly meets Liz
and she asks him if whatever they have is over. He says nothing is really ever
over. Liz tells Jason she's sometimes afraid that he may just leave again with
no goodbyes. She says she would miss him and asks him if he would miss her. He
says, "you know how I feel about you". Liz says that she never really
heard him say how he feels that she doesn't know. He has helped her, saved her
life, taking her riding and now he is pushing her away and asks him to tell her
why? He tells her he's too dangerous to be around him. She says that is it? He
says he can't be around when she wants, then not when she doesn't, he can't be
the friend she thought he would be to her and walks away.
Sonny and Jason cornered
Alcazar and one of his men as they stepped off the elevator. Sonny asked what
Alcazar had that he thinks Sonny wants. Sonny warned Alcazar to get out of town
but Alcazar refused to back down. As Alcazar walks away, Jason observes that he
talks like he has leverage against Sonny. Sonny wants Jason to find out what it
is. Later, Sonny and Jason are on the docks spying on Alcazar’s yacht and
discussing what he has that he thinks Sonny wants so much. Sonny thinks maybe
Alcazar is bluffing. Jason sees the ‘woman’ enter the room and speak to
Alcazar (but as usual it is only from the back). He passes the binoculars to
Sonny but by the time Sonny takes a look the woman is nowhere to be seen. Sonny
orders Jason to find out everything he can about Mr. Alcazar and his female
friend. Sonny and Jason return to the PH. Sonny sits on the sofa and tells Jason
that if Alcazar doesn’t back off he will send the yacht and anyone on it to
the bottom of the harbor. Neither man notices the video camera on the coffee
table pointed directly at where Sonny is sitting. Carly and Michael returned and
the conversation changed. Sonny later questioned Liz about the conversation she
overheard between Roy and Alcazar. Liz couldn’t give Sonny any ‘real’
answers except that she got the impression that the something Alcazar has that
Sonny wants was a person, not a thing. Sonny returns home, and a frantic Carly
tells him Michael is missing. They both see the video camera and realize that
Michael saw the tape of Jason & Sonny talking about taking down Alcazar.
Alcazar questioned the nurse
about what the mystery woman wanted to know from Zander about Sonny and Jax.
Alcazar goes into see Zander (who has snuck aboard his yacht). Later, Alcazar
ordered his men to throw Zander overboard and make it look like he drowned. A
fisherman brought a half drowned Zander into Kelly’s. Liz recognized him and
asked him what had happened. Zander looked at Liz and asked, “Do I know
you?” The fisherman tells Liz that he doesn’t know how long Zander’s been
in the water. She thanks him for his help and leads Zander to a table after the
fisherman leaves. Zander tells Liz that he has no idea who she is and asks her
what his name is. After examination, Liz discovers that Zander has been hit on
the head really hard. She wants to take him to a hospital, but Zander doesn’t
want to go. He agrees to talk. He asks Liz if he likes to sail or if he made
someone mad enough to try and kill him. Alcazar slips out and receives a phone
call from his henchman telling him that Zander is still alive and is with Liz at
Kelly’s. Alcazar tells him that Zander knows too much. He says that if Zander
tells Liz anything and if Liz tells Jason, everything will be over. He orders
the man to eliminate them both. Alcazar’s henchman enters the dinner and spies
Liz and Zander together. As Liz is trying to give Zander more information about
himself, ie, living in Florida, working with Sonny, dating Emily, Alcazar’s
man reenters and sits at a table across form them. He holds a gun between his
legs and points it at the two. Zander can’t understand why everyone hated him
so much. He asks Liz what he does wrong. She tells him that he has a temper and
sometimes doesn’t think before he acts, which gets him into trouble. Zander
remembers being on a yacht, but nothing else. Liz tells him that they are going
to the hospital and as they are walking over to the counter a baseball or soccer
team enters blocking the hit man’s view of Liz and Zander.
Jason and Sonny are on the
docks discussing the blurry photograph of “Brenda” but don't recognize her.
They try to figure out what it is that Alcazar has that Sonny wants more than
anything. Sonny figures it has to be family because he is not an art collector
and it’s not about money. He names the people he cares about, Carly, Michael,
Jason, Courtney, Mike (leaving out the believed to be dead Brenda), but everyone
is accounted for. Jason reminds Sonny that there is round the clock surveillance
on Alcazar and that Alcazar knows Sonny is watching him. Sonny again asks Jason
to find out everything he can about the mystery lady because they might be able
to use her to get to Alcazar if she is his weakness.
Jason finds Michael and AJ on
the docks. He tells Michael that everyone is looking for him and that he’s
come to take him home. AJ informs his brother that Michael does not want to go
home so Jason should just turn around and let him be with his son. He tells
Jason that Michael has questions and he has answers. Sonny receives a phone call
from Jason who tells him that he is at the Pier with Michael and that Michael is
fine but that AJ is there and claims that Michael doesn’t want to go home.
Jason thinks it would be a good idea if the two of them came to get him. Sonny
relays the message to Carly and they take off to the Pier. Jason tries to keep
things calm when AJ starts to loose it in front of Michael. AJ tells his brother
to go ahead and explain the meaning of fatherhood, this should be good from
someone who stole my son. Jason explains to Michael that a father is someone who
loves you no matter what, who thinks of you before anyone else. A father
protects you, teaches you things and would never, ever use you like you were a
thing to be pawned. AJ is pissed by now and wants Jason to explain to Michael
how he stole him from AJ and put him in the hands of a criminal. Michael asks
Jason if he stole him. Jason responds by saying that a long time ago, he
promised Michael that he would always be loved and protected. AJ demands to know
what happened, how is Sonny protecting Michael when he is down here in the
middle of the night alone to try and stop him from hurting someone? Angrily AJ
tells Jason that he had to know the day would come when Michael would start
asking questions. He tells his brother that he (meaning Jason) doesn’t have
the guts to tell Michael who Sonny really is. Jason asks Michael if he wants
truth. Michael says yes, so Jason tells him that Sonny is the best man that
Jason has ever known and that he is the best father. Sonny and Carly show up as
AJ is urging Jason to tell Michael what he really does for a living, that him
and Sonny are in the business of making people die. After quick hugs and kisses,
Michael asks Sonny if he makes people die. Sonny warns AJ to back off or pay the
price. AJ asks Jason what that means but Jason tells AJ he'll find out in due
time. Jason accuses AJ of being lower than usual by using Michael to hurt Sonny
and Carly. AJ says that he didn't set out to hurt Michael but felt that Michael
deserved to know the truth. Jason tells AJ that he just proved he wasn't father
material by telling Michael things to complicated for a child his age. AJ
screams at Jason that he is Michael's father, not Sonny and not Jason. Sonny
asks Jason exactly what AJ said to Michael. Sonny tells Jason about the video
tape Michael saw. Jason points out that AJ's plan to make Michael fear Sonny
didn't work. Sonny reminds Jason that Courtney is working at the Oasis and sends
him off to guard her.
At GH, Tony has just finished
examining Zander and tells them that he has a very serious head injury. He asks
Zander if he is on any drugs. When asked why, Tony explains that some of the
symptoms may indicate drug use, but Zander doesn’t remember taking anything.
Liz asks if its possible Zander was poisoned. Tony doesn’t think so. He tells
Zander to take it easy, not to force anything and to come back and see him in a
few days. With a not so bright hit man lurking around and keeping an eye on
them, Zander and Liz move into the waiting room. Liz urges Zander to try and
remember his last steps. He can only come up with the yacht and a woman. As
Zander explains that the woman had a lot of questions, a shot rings out and the
glass vase on the table beside them bursts into pieces and Zander immediately
jumps into protective mode and covers Liz. When the coast is seemingly clear,
Zander tells Liz that he agrees with Liz that someone maybe after him to murder
him.
Jason finds Courtney walking
around at the club, tells her that AJ has really messed up and urges her to tell
Coleman she can’t work tonight, then go home and be with AJ. Coleman finds
Jason and Courtney talking and reminds Courtney that it is almost time for her
set. Sonny finds his way back to the docks where he finds AJ and tells him that
they are ‘going for a ride’. AJ is shocked to see Courtney stripping and
tries to take Courtney out of there. She refuses to leave and AJ is tossed out.
She tries to continue the show but is visibly upset and starts to lose it. Jason
goes up, picks her up and carries her offstage. Jason makes it clear to Coleman
that Courtney's stripping days are over. Sonny feels guilt over the pain he
caused Courtney. He takes her home, Courtney is distraught because she only had
a few weeks left to strip and blames Jason for destroying all her efforts to
keep her secret from AJ and hurting him. She wants to know why he did it.
She’s sure that AJ hates her. She demands that he leaves, she declares that
Sonny has what he wants. She begs him to go find AJ before he does something
stupid, as he is surely drunk by now. He tells her that he was told to guard
her. GH Promo.
A drunk AJ enters the closed
Oasis. He throws some bottles around and then sets the stage on fire. He slumps
down in the middle of the flames. Jason stays at Courtney and A.J.'s apartment
in case A.J. shows up and possibly hurts Courtney. Courtney goes out to run some
errands. A.J. returns to the apartment and waits for Courtney with Jason
watching him. A.J. tells Jason to leave them alone and go back and tell Sonny
that his plan of revenge worked. Jason refuses to leave him alone with Courtney
right now and that he'll make sure Courtney is off the hook with Coleman from
now on and won't have to strip anymore. Courtney returns home. Jason leaves when
he sees she isn't in any real danger from A.J. Jason finds Coleman outside his
club. He hands him a paper bag filled with money to start over again in exchange
for not pressing charges or causing trouble for A.J. or Courtney again. Coleman
questions Jason's motives but excepts the money. A.J. shows up to accept
responsibility for the fire but Coleman acts like he doesn't know him and
leaves. A.J. realizes Jason paid him off because of Courtney. He tell him he
came to take the blame but Jason ruined it again by doing Sonny's work and not
allowing him to fix things for his own wife.
AJ gets all over Jason’s case
for making the arson charge disappear. Jason tells AJ that he personally
couldn't care less if AJ spent the next 20 years in jail, but Courtney is
Sonny’s sister, and she asked him to help, so he did. AJ continues to be less
than grateful. Jason finally gets sick and tired of his brother's whining, and
lays into A.J. Jason accuses AJ of destroying everything he touches, which now
includes Courtney. Jason finishes by telling AJ that the best thing he can do
for Courtney is to set her free. Jason returns to Sonny's penthouse and begins
to report to Sonny about the night’s events. A phone call distracts him and
Carly take the opportunity to tell Jason NOT to tell Sonny what he did just yet.
Jason refuses to lie to Sonny. Carly makes herself scarce and Jason tells Sonny
that AJ is not going to jail because he made the arson charge go away by bribing
Coleman. Jason tries to explain to Sonny that Courtney asked him to help AJ, but
Sonny is enraged by Jason’s actions. Sonny accuses Jason of helping his enemy
and, (reminding Jason of the unauthorized offer he made to Zander) questions not
only Jason’s loyalty, but his ability to do his job too. Sonny was asks Jason
why he went against his order to get rid of A.J. by having him arrested for
arson. Jason argued that he wanted him to take care of Courtney and that's what
Jason did. A.J. is what Courtney wants. They went round and round with Sonny
questioning Jason's loyalty. Jason couldn't believe Sonny would question his
loyalty. Carly came home and she stopped their arguing. She said A.J. wasn't
worth it.
Elizabeth and Zander were
hiding out in a motel room and Elizabeth told Zander that Jason would be able to
help them. She left to find Jason and the goon of Alcazar's came to the door,
pretending to be Jason. Zander let him in and he asked Zander what he knew.
Zander said he didn't remember anything except being on a yacht. He asked him
more questions and Zander picked up a cup of coffee. The guy told him to put the
coffee down. He had a gun pointed at Zander and Zander threw the coffee in his
face. Liz finds Jason on the docks and asks for his help. Jason figures that
Zander knows something and the goons don't realize he has amnesia which puts Liz
in danger as they will think Zander told Liz. Later Elizabeth and Jason arrive
and find the thug unconscious. Jason tried talking to him but no answer. Zander
is missing. Jason and Liz head to her studio, and find Zander there. Zander
shakily recounts what happened. Liz questions him about whether he remembers
anything else about the boat, he remembers a woman.
At the penthouse, Jason is
standing at the window when Liz comes down and asks what he’s looking at. He
brings her over and places her in front of him. With hands resting on her
shoulders, he directs her gaze to Alcazar’s yacht. She wonders aloud what it
would be like to own your own yacht. As she is telling Jason where she would go
with her own yacht, Zander comes down and interrupts them by telling them that
he has remembered something. Zander tells Sonny that he remembers two guys and a
woman who claimed to be a friend. He can’t remember a face, only the voice.
Sonny tells him that he needs to remember everything so he (Sonny) can take down
Alcazar. Zander asks Sonny if he did something to him. Sonny is curious as to
why he is asking. Zander tells him its because it seems like you don’t like
me. Sonny tells Zander that although he has made mistakes and bad choices, he
has influential friends who helped him. Yes, he did do something to Sonny, but
now he is helping him, so if this plays out into Sonny’s favor than all debts
are cleared. Alcazar finds out that Zander and Liz are under Sonny’s guard. As
“Brenda” listens, he vows to end this once and for all and to move against
Sonny. After they leave, “Brenda” sneaks in and tries to make a phone call
but finds the phone lines disconnected. She searches through the drawers and
finds her passport and sneaks away.
Out in the hallway Jason
suggests to Sonny that its time he goes on board the yacht to look around. Sonny
agrees and tells him that if he finds what Alcazar is hiding, to take it if he
can. Inside Jason’s apartment, Zander is scoffing at Sonny’s behavior. He
tells Liz that he doesn’t trust either Jason or Sonny and thinks he would be
better off on his own. Will you go with me? He asks. Dressed head to toe in
black, Jason comes down and prepares to leave for his mission. Liz asks him if
he’s going on the yacht. He tells her to just stay there and keep Zander calm.
She tells him that she can’t do that knowing Jason is out there dealing with
killers. He reminds her that this is his job and he is good at it. He asks her
to trust him, she assures him she does. He promises her that he will be back.
Liz reaches out and grabs his hand and tells him he better be right about that.
After Jason leaves, Zander comes down and wants to know why Liz didn’t tell
him that she was in love with Jason.
As Liz is patiently watching
out the window, Zander is playing pool. He asks her how long she plans on
staying there. She responds by saying, until Jason comes back. Angrily Zander
wants to know why Liz lied to him and didn’t tell him Jason was her boyfriend.
Liz tells him that Jason is not her boyfriend and that she is not sure what they
are to each other. She reminds him that he used to hate Jason and their
relationship. He thinks again that he would be better off alone than taking help
from someone he used to hate. Liz tells him that’s his choice, but reminds
that he’s lost his memory and that people are trying to kill him and that he
has made bad decisions before that almost got him killed and she won’t go with
him and watch him do it again. Zander tells Liz that’s he’s decided not to
run, but that she is making him nervous standing there, so why don’t they play
a game of pool. Liz tells how that used to drive her crazy, how he could be a
write off one minute and sweet the next. Zander asks Liz (jokingly) if she likes
him. She says she does, but not the way she cares about Jason. She tells Zander
that if she loves Jason, she can’t bring herself to admit it. She wants to be
with him when she’s not. Admits that Jason’s life is dangerous and that
Jason doesn’t seem to want her in it. She compares their relationship to a
rollercoaster and something that can’t go on forever, although she wants it
to. Zander quizzes Liz about their past relationship and her current one with
Jason. She ends up telling him that they (she and Zander) slept together once,
but decided it was a mistake. When he asked about his romantic past, Liz tells
him about his romance with Emily Q. Liz tells Zander that they were great
together until the accident and how she broke up with him over the phone. Zander
jokes that maybe he hit himself in attempt to put himself out of his misery.
Alcazar is on the phone to
someone telling them to forget about Jax. Sonny is more of a threat. The nurse
comes in and tells him that “Brenda” has disappeared. Jason sneaks aboard
the yacht and in seconds finds Alcazar’s office. He begins searching through
drawers, but hears someone coming in. He hides and listens as Alcazar makes a
phone call and explains that “Brenda” is missing, she has id but no money
and has not contacted anyone. He orders another search of the yacht incase she
is still aboard. Alcazar comes back and is informed that “Brenda” was hiding
below deck, but that she is now locked in his cabin. They rush off to hide the
passports in his safe. Jason emerges and goes directly to the cabin. He tries to
get in, but “Brenda” rushes to intercept and blocks the door. Jason tells
her to back away from the door and that he is there to help her. The camera
fades up and we finally see Brenda as she whispers Jason’s name! Brenda
appears worried as she realizes that her ‘rescuer’ is Jason. It takes Jason
a few moments to pick the lock and when he finally gets into the room it appears
to be empty. Believing that the woman is hiding out of fear, Jason tries to coax
her into revealing herself by soothingly saying that he can he can help her
escape if she wants to escape. From her hiding place Brenda smiles fondly as
Jason reveals to the empty room that he works for Sonny Corinthos. Jason hears a
faint noise coming from behind a door and quickly opens it. On the other side he
comes face to face with a woman, but it is only the nurse. She urges him to
leave quickly, but Jason insists on getting her name. The door flies open and
Alcazar and his men enter. Alcazar greets Jason and tells him that he has been
looking forward to killing him. Alcazar then orders his men to kill Jason (and
not to make any mistakes this time). From her hiding place Brenda appears to be
upset by the turn of events. The nurse tries to explain to Alcazar how she had
just found Jason moments before he arrived. Alcazar assures her that there is no
problem as no damage was done. They leave the room and Brenda exits her hiding
place (the ceiling to floor wardrobe). She heads straight for the door. But on
the other side, Alcazar is waiting for her with a warning that any rescue
attempt would ill advised. Out on the deck, Jason struggles with two of
Alcazar’s henchmen. He gets the best of them of a brief moment and jumps ship
– literally. The henchmen fire several shots into the spot where Jason entered
the water.
Liz is explaining to Zander
that she isn’t sure what her relationship is with Jason or what she expects
from it when Jason returns. He is wet and bleeding from a cut on the forehead.
Liz orders Zander to search of a first aid kit as she tries to tend to Jason’s
wound. Jason is impatient and when Zander returns with the kit, Jason urges
Zander to try to remember everything. Jason tells Zander he will describe
everything he saw on the ship in hope of jogging Zander’s memory, but warns
that they are running out of time. Jason tells Sonny, Carly, Liz and Zander
about his visit to the yacht. He describes the woman that he saw (the nurse) and
Sonny and he assume that this is the woman that whose back they saw earlier on
the yacht. Sonny is mystified because he was sure that "the woman" was
the key to the whole thing, so now he's stumped but he knows that trouble is
ahead. Brenda listens from behind the office doorway as Alcazar tells Roy that
he has to kill Sonny.
Liz waits up for Jason to
return from a meeting with Sonny. She tells him that she made him a sandwich and
basically comes on to him again, saying that she doesn't care what he does
"out there" and she doesn't care about tomorrow, all she cares about
is right now and tonight. He asks her not to do this as he doesn't like pushing
her away. She asks him what if something had happened to him, if he hadn't come
home that night. He tells her he isn't what she needs, that they can't work out,
his life is too dangerous. He says one day she will look at him and her face
will change and he can't deal with that. She doesn't care what happens in the
future. She just wants them to have each other. He asks what about Zander? That
she is only there because Zander is in trouble and she wants to keep him safe.
She says Zander isn't who she is thinking about. He wants to know what is going
on between her and Zander. She tells him that she made a mistake sleeping with
Zander that one time that she freaked out the night of the storm when the power
went out in her studio. Jason said he saw them and she asked why he didn't let
her know. He figured she choose Zander. She didn't understand why he had shut
down on her. He finally admits how much she matters to him and tells her he
wants to be with her. She responds, "Finally, we agree on something!"
He warned her that there would be times when he had to leave and couldn't tell
her where he was going or what he was doing. He can't promise her she won't get
hurt. She said she understood and that no one can make promises about being
safe, that anyone can break a heart. He declares he would never hurt her on
purpose and she says that is important to her. He asks her if that is enough,
she says maybe it is that he is important enough to try. He says he will respect
her, be honest with her and also agrees to try. He asks her to go upstairs
before Zander barges in and Jason has to beat him up again! As she gets up, he
grabs her and pulls her towards him and they embrace.
Sonny is seen standing alone on
the dock, while Roy sneaks up behind him on the stairs and waits. Roy’s plan
is thwarted when Jason and Carly arrive. Roy listens as Sonny explains that he
wanted Alcazar to see that he is not hiding. The next move is his. Carly reminds
him that he promised to stay with her for life, so he better be careful. Jason
tells Sonny that Alcazar’s yacht seems to be getting ready to leave town.
Sonny doesn’t think that he would be leaving town this soon and they both
think it might be a ploy. Jason tells Sonny that the “woman” left the yacht
yesterday. This brings Sonny to discuss Brenda and Jax. He admits that he
wonders if Brenda thought about him before he died, because she was the last
face he saw when he almost died.
On the yacht, Brenda has
arranged the table, bed and chairs as a barricade in front of the door. She
kneels behind it and with a trembling hand grips the gun. She prays that this
will work and fires the gun. Brenda’s plan has seemingly backfired as she is
now stuck waist deep in water and screaming for help. Jason arrives and
announces that Alcazar was not on the yacht when it exploded. Sonny pronounces
it the perfect opportunity to make a move against his enemy. Carly has a bad
feeling and pleads with Sonny not to take the chance. Sonny insists that he has
to make a move now or lose the upper hand. In the end he gives in and lets Jason
go ‘check things out’ first.
A frantic Alcazar orders his
men to searching for Brenda. Brenda is still trapped and continues to bang on
the door while screaming for help. All the while the water level is rapidly
rising. Shortly after, Jason arrives on the docks and Alcazar accuses Sonny of
setting the explosion. He baffles Jason when he tells him to tell Sonny that the
stunt may have cost them both something important. Jason suggests that since
things are no longer going as planned, Alcazar should cut his loses and leave.
Alcazar tells Jason that he doesn’t take orders from Sonny or his flunky
(referring to Jason). After Jason leaves, Alcazar orders his men to keep
searching until they find Brenda.
Jason returns and reports that
Alcazar is frantic because his girlfriend was apparently still aboard the yacht
when it exploded. Alcazar blames Sonny, and oh yeah what was Roy doing here?
Jason asks. Sonny says it’s no big surprise about the blame and he’ll fill
Jason in later on Roy’s visit. Jason agrees with Sonny that Alcazar is
vulnerable and they should take the opportunity it offers to get rid of him.
Brenda has managed to reach the shore (though how she escaped the ship is still
a mystery) but has to hide (under a over turned row boat) when she hears someone
coming. It is Alcazar, she keeps still, holds her breath and eventually Alcazar
and his men move on. Later Brenda is seen walking down a street. She runs in to
a young man with a cell phone. She asks him to make a call for her. The man is
reluctant until she offers to give him her $3000 diamond watch. Brenda dials the
number then instructs the man to push send and ask for Sonny. Once Sonny is on
the phone, Brenda has the man tell Sonny that a friend needs to meet him at St.
Timothy’s church that night with information about Alcazar. Sonny refuses the
meeting unless he can speak to the ‘friend’ directly. The young man gives
Brenda the message and passes her the phone. Brenda slowly puts the phone up to
her ear and takes a deep breath. Sonny is still on the phone listening to Brenda
breathing. When she won’t speak, she hands the phone to her new friend. He
tells Brenda that Sonny won’t go unless he can speak with her. Carly has just
come home and her and Jason listen intently to Sonny’s end of the
conversation. Brenda tells her friend to tell Sonny that this is about Louis
Alcazar and it is in his best interests to meet her at the church. Sonny agrees
and hangs up the phone. Carly looks at him worriedly and quickly busies herself
while Sonny tells Jason that he will ride with him, just in case. Roy is on the
phone with Alcazar telling him that everything has been arrange and it will
happen tonight. Alcazar tells Roy that he doesn’t want assurances, he wants
results. If he doesn’t kill Sonny, Felicia will die. One of Alcazar’s men
approaches and tells him they have a lead on Brenda. She could be anywhere, but
they have men canvassing the area looking for her. Alcazar assumes that Brenda
is trying to contact Sonny and Jax and warn them.
Jason comes down the stairs and
announces to Liz that he is leaving and isn’t sure when he will be back.
Jokingly, Liz tells him that at least she knows he isn’t going to the yacht,
because its now in the bottom of the harbor. Jason informs her that he didn't
put it there. She believes him and asks if he can tell her what he’s doing
tonight. To change the subject, Jason suggests a game of pool. During the game
they begin a discussion of Jason’s job and Liz wonders if he ever thinks about
it being dangerous or that something might happen. He tells her that this is his
job and he is good at it. He is fully aware of the risks involved. Liz asks him
what he remembers about her finding him shot in the snow. Jason tells her that
he remembers her yelling at him and telling him to walk and how much it hurt but
he also knew that she was saving his life. Liz reminds Jason that if she had not
gone for a walk that day, they would not be having this conversation, Jason
responds by saying that it is not wrong to care about someone that way. But that
is something he can’t give her. Jason tells Liz that after tonight she will be
able to go back home. Liz isn’t sure whether or be happy or not. She enjoys
staying at Jason’s and compares it to her studio. She asks Jason if he will
miss her when she leaves. He says he will. When asked if he will miss her enough
to pick up the phone and ask her out, to take her riding or will he go back to
avoiding her, Jason tells her that he doesn’t know what will happen. He tells
her that she is so beautiful, talented and smart and that she makes him see
things he has never seen before. She also has big dreams that he can support and
admire because he doesn’t have any of his own, but what can he give her
besides pool lessons and bike rides? Liz tells him that he listened to her when
no one else would, he trusted her to live her own life, when she didn’t even
trust herself. He makes her happy and makes her feel free. She embraces him in a
hug. Jason tells Sonny that its time to go. Carly and Sonny say a tearful
goodbye and Sonny tells her that he loves her and leaves.
Brenda arrives at the church
and stands in the pouring rain, mocking its irony. Smiling, she laughs joyously
to herself, quietly and lets the rain pour over her. Brenda enters the church
and slowly walks down the aisle. Carly is setting the table when Liz knocks at
the door. Carly lets her in and Liz tells Carly that she has been staring out at
a storm worrying about Jason. Could they help each other get through this,
worrying about the people they care about? Carly thinks Liz just wants a typical
cat fight, but before Liz leaves, Carly has a change of heart and asks her if
she knows anything about yellow peppers. She explains that this is her one
chance to prove to Sonny that she can cook, so will Liz show her how to slice it
up? Liz tries a hand at a civilized conversation with Carly about how she deals
with Sonny’s life because at the moment she doesn’t seem fazed. Carly
explains that Sonny’s business is his problem, but her fears are hers. Carly
suggests that Liz figure out what she needs from Jason and what she can handle
about his life, because she doesn’t want to see Jason get hurt. Carly and Liz
thank each other for their help and Liz leaves.
In the limo, Jason explains to
Sonny that with the rain it will be almost impossible to spot any possible
snipers. He asks Sonny if he is sure he wants to do this. He reminds his boss
that he now has a family who think he is the world. He needs to be sure this is
what he needs to do. Jason and Sonny begin a heated argument about Sonny’s
order that Jason remain behind for 10 minutes. Jason thinks it is an unnecessary
risk and that he is starting to take it personally. Damn right I am, Sonny
replies and explains that he has to make Alcazar pay for trying to ruin his
life. Jason reluctantly agrees and Sonny mentions that the last time he was here
was when he was to marry Brenda.
The next sequence of scenes is
the Amazing Grace montage, Carly lights candles at the dinner table in the
penthouse, Sonny slowly walks towards St. Timothy's Church in the rain, Brenda
kneels in a pew in the church, praying, Roy hides behind the bushes outside the
church. Brenda gets up and heads towards the church doors. Sonny arrives at the
courtyard in front of the church, Roy waits, Jason gets out of the limo, Brenda
opens the first set of doors and takes a breath, Sonny walks closer, Roy waits,
Carly pours wine for dinner, Sonny is outside the church doors, Carly starts to
drink a glass of wine, but is startled and drops it, Brenda opens the outside
doors, Sonny sees Brenda, his eyes are wide, in shock, Brenda smiles at him and
laughs, Carly's glass drops to the floor, leaving a pool of red, Gunshot. Fade
to black. GH Promo for Brenda's return.
Amazing Grace montage
continues, gunshot, gunshot, gunshot, Brenda screams, Sonny drops to the ground.
Brenda runs over and picks him up. She holds his head in her lap, gets blood on
her hands. Jason arrives. Sonny gasps and tells Jason to get her out of there.
Jason picks Brenda up and carries her, kicking and screaming, into the car. He
literally throws her in the car and it takes off. "Brenda," Sonny
utters, lying in a pool of his own blood. In the car, racing away from Sonny,
Brenda desperately tries to get out and starts screaming at Jason to go back for
Sonny. Jason tells her to calm down. He makes two quick phone calls. In the
first one, presumably to paramedics, Jason says, "A man's been shot, needs
an ambulance." The second call is to Carly and Jason tells her Sonny needs
her at St. Timothy's church. Brenda insists on knowing who Jason has called and
why he isn't going back for Sonny. Jason has questions of his own. "How
long have you been with Alcazar?" he demands. Brenda and Jason continue to
argue, he has questions, she doesn't want to answer them and instead wants to
get back to Sonny. She does tell Jason that Alcazar saved her from drowning.
Jason tells Brenda that he is doing exactly what Sonny wants...his dying words
were to get her away from there.
Sonny is lying on the ground,
bleeding and dying. The priest comes out of the church and finds Sonny and tries
to help him, covers his chest with his jacket, puts his sweater under Sonny's
head. Then he prays. The paramedics show up and try to save him, to no avail.
Sonny's dead. Just then, Carly shows up and starts screaming and crying, telling
her husband to "Open your eyes!" When he doesn't, she starts reminding
him of their plans and asks what she is going to do without him?! The priest
tries to pull her away but she isn't budging. Carly swears she will always love
him and the paramedics take him away. Then, Taggert and his fellow PCPD buffoons
show up, confused. Where is the body? Carly tells him her husband is dead.
Taggert is really confused about why the body is gone, why the paramedics would
have taken it away. He asks questions of the priest and the priest tells what he
knows, but it is very little. Taggert tells Carly he is sorry for her loss, but
she doesn't believe him since he hated Sonny. Taggert wonders where Sonny's
bodyguards were or, more importantly, where was Jason? Carly finally tells him
what she knows, about Jason calling her and her arriving to find Sonny dead. She
says she can give him the name of who did this, though. "Alcazar."
Jason has taken Brenda to a
safe-house. She still isn't answering his questions, though. She does not
understand why Jason would have left Sonny lying dead on the ground. Finally,
Brenda tells Jason that she is sick, she inherited her mom's illness and it
makes her question reality at times. She tells Jason how Luis promised to keep
her away from the people she loves so that she wouldn't hurt them. When she saw
they were back in Port Charles, she stopped taking her medication. And, when she
heard Luis order someone to kill Sonny, she knew she had to warn him somehow.
She admits she sank the yacht. When Jason asks why she didn't just tell Sonny
over the phone, Brenda admits she wanted to see him. "Well, you got what
you wanted, didn't you?" snotty Jason asks her. He tells her she is safe
where she is, but she wants to warn Jax, too. Then, she suggests Jason go to Jax
and protect him, that is what Sonny would want. Jason says he follows Sonny's
orders, not her orders. They get the call, Sonny's been taken to the morgue.
Brenda is devastated. She says that when Sonny saw her at the church, she
realized that he had always loved her. She wasn't sure in the past but she knew
when they locked eyes. She claims that she's always loved him and he always
loved her, that it was fine even if she loved him more. As she talks, we see
Sonny in the next room, taking off his shirt, revealing a bulletproof vest. Why,
he's not dead after all!
Elizabeth pops in to see if
everything is all right. Carly comes down the stairs and announces that there
has been a shooting. Sonny is dead. Carly gives Elizabeth the details of Sonny
lying and dying in the rain. Liz asks about Jason. Did he call? Have they called
him? Thinking he may be hurt and not thinking clearly, Elizabeth wants to go
look for him. Carly and Bobbie advise her stay out of it. Carly tells her to
show that she accepts Jason’s life by going to the penthouse and waiting.
Brenda sleeps restlessly. Her
eyes open to see Sonny at her doorway. She rises and they meet, head to head,
nose to nose, she gently strokes his cheek and she awakens and realizes her
dream; Jason is at her door. Troubled, she reminds them both that Sonny is dead
because of her if she only knew that Sonny sits staring aimlessly in the next
room. Jason explains to Brenda that she was not responsible for Sonny’s death.
Things were in motion before they knew she was involved. She responds that she
should have called, warned him, and left. She did not ever want him to see her
sick and now he never would. She cries as Sonny watches through the window.
Sonny and Jason whisper outside
Brenda’s window. They acknowledge her hurt and Sonny thanks Jason for keeping
a watchful eye. Jason asks if Sonny is going to tell her that he’s alive. He
fills Sonny in on Brenda, how she hooked up with Alcazar, her illness and what
has been going on. Sonny feels that Brenda has made it clear what she wants and
he is clearly not part of it. She wanted to see him, she did, and now he’s
dead. Sonny listens at the vent that “connects” his hideaway to Brenda. She
weeps and cries that she is sorry. Roy enters Sonny’s room and reveals the
next task Alcazar has given him: kill Jax and deliver Brenda. Sonny explains
that when he saw Brenda, everything fit. Roy realizes that Brenda is the witness
Taggert alluded to. Sonny says Brenda will not be available to the Taggert. They
will get Alcazar. Roy says Alcazar has gone back underground and will not
surface until he has Brenda. He suggests they go at Alcazar through the proper
authorities. Sonny says the only way to get Alcazar is to get him to make a
mistake. Roy needs to play along. Roy says he can control his end as long as
Sonny can control Brenda. Brenda fights with Jason in the next room. She states
she is leaving to warn Jax, but promises to return. Jason locks her in and
leaves.
Jason arrives at Carly’s.
Carly has a million questions and as usual Jason is a man of few words. Enter
Bobbie as Jason explains he has talked to the funeral director. He tells Carly
he is there for her anytime. He sternly reminds her that no matter what she
needs to stay with a guard. Courtney bolts from the elevator meeting Jason as he
leaves from Carly’s. She accuses him of not protecting her brother. Her rage
turns to tears as she thanks Jason for everything he has done. He comforts her
with an embrace as Elizabeth opens the penthouse door and observes with
surprise.
Brenda tries to persuade Jason
to let her go and warn Jax about Alcazar so he doesn't get killed. Jason refuses
to allow her to leave the safe house and agrees to do what he can concerning
Jax's safety. Jason leaves Benny to watch over Brenda while he's gone. At the
funeral home, mourners begin to arrive. Liz enters and tells Jason how sorry she
is. Monica offers her condolences to Jason for Sonny's death. Jason questions
her actions at first but is touched when she tells him she came for him since
she is his mother. Alexis shows up to pay her respects but Carly refuses to
allow her to stay for the service after the way she treated Sonny at Kristina's
funeral. Alexis leaves quietly. At the end of the service, Taggert shows up and
insists on seeing Sonny's body in the casket. Carly gets upset with him and
tells him to leave her and Sonny alone now. Taggert refuses to leave without
seeing the body. He opens the casket to find Sonny lying there peacefully. Jason
tells him to leave right now. He leaves. Jason thanks everyone for coming while
he comforts Carly. Everyone leaves them alone. Carly comments to Jason that
Taggert will not stop hounding them. Jason leaves her alone in the room. She
opens the casket and talks to Sonny about how much she loves him and will never
stop loving him ever. Sonny wakes up from a drugged state and gets out of the
casket to embrace her. Carly tells him it was really hard to pretend he was dead
and go through the motions of a funeral.
Brenda distracts Benny by
faking a migraine and asks Benny to turn the lights down. While he turns his
back on her to turn the lights down, Brenda hits him hard on the head with a
glass vase and knocks him out cold. She escapes out the window and heads to the
church to observe Sonny's funeral. She gets there and goes over to the room
where the service took place and approaches the door to open it. Outside the
sanctuary door, Brenda pauses as she remembers seeing Sonny gunned down. This
gives Jason enough time to arrive on the scene and prevent her from entering.
Jason tries to convince Brenda that Alcazar's people could be watching the
church and she agrees to go with him. Sonny stops Carly from investigating the
noise. Sonny denies knowing who the woman at the church was. He apologizes for
putting Carly through such a trying ordeal. Then lies again about Alcazar
disappearing. Carly is upset when Sonny says they can't see each other again
until the problem is solved permanently.
Jason berates Brenda for
hitting Benny and is not mollified by Brenda’s concern for the man. When they
get stuck in traffic, Jason instructs the driver to cut through a near by hotel
parking. Brenda wonders at Jason's apparent coldness regarding Sonny's death. As
the car move slowly through the hotel parking lot, Brenda sees Jax (giving Skye
a rose) through the window. Brenda starts screaming Jax's name and kicking the
car door. Jason holds her back and orders Max to get them out of there fast.
Liz straightens up as she waits
for Carly to return from the funeral parlor. Zander arrives and Liz fills him in
on the scene Taggart caused. Zander tells Liz that he plans to leave Jason's
place that same night. Liz thinks it's a bad idea, and points out the dangers
that still exist to him. They argue over Jason’s abilities to protect them and
the lack of details they know, but in the end Zander agrees to stay for a little
bit longer. Later, Carly returns and thanks Liz for her efforts. Liz asks about
Jason but Carly cannot give her any information. After Liz leaves, Carly
convinces Bobbie to leave her alone. She immediately calls Jason and leaves a
message saying she needs to finish her conversation with (slight pause)
“Benny”. Shortly afterwards the guard announces a visitor. It turns out to
be one of Sonny's mob connections that has come to pay his respects. He also
wants to discuss business. Carly is outraged at his lack of respect. The man
gives her a check for $2 million, as payment for Sonny’s ‘territories’.
Carly is insulted since Sonny is worth well over ten times the amount. When he
points out Jason’s mysterious absence, she reluctantly takes the check, then
tears it up and tells him to go to hell.
Brenda continues to worry over
not being able to warn Jax. She finally notices that the window in her room is
nailed shut. Jason points out that there are also guards now. Later, Jason
enters Brenda’s room when she wakes up screaming from a nightmare. Jason and
Brenda pull away from a hug. He asks if she is alright. She said that her
nightmares are getting worse and that the medication used to help. Jason offers
to get meds for her but she said she doesn't that he is doing everything he can
for her and if she needs anything to tell him. Brenda asks him to leave. Jason
enters the next room and tells Sonny that they need to get Brenda out of there
now. Jason tells Sonny Brenda had a nightmare and that she turns down his
getting her meds for her illness. He states that she is only concerned with Jax.
He tells Sonny he can't deal with her anymore and he wants Sonny to send her to
Puerto Rico. Sonny refuses. He said that they are holding her until Alcazar is
out of the picture and then she can do whatever she wants. Jason said he needs a
break, and Sonny tells him to be back ASAP!
Carly is on the phone trying to
get a hold of Jason. Elizabeth walks in hearing Carly say that she is going out
of her mind and she is worried. Elizabeth asks if she was talking to Jason, and
where he is. Elizabeth tries to find out from Carly where Jason is and where
he's been going every night. Carly says that it's "business".
Elizabeth wants to know what that means. Carly says it means exactly what it
sounds like. It's the all purpose answer that means do not ask any more
questions. Carly tells her that she can not help her with this. She then tells
the guard to pull the car around now.
Courtney is walking down the
steps to the pier as a man walks past. After she gets to the bottom of the steps
the man turns around and tries to steal her purse. She fights back and he slams
her up against a wall. She starts to get away and the guy regains control. Jason
sees her struggling and he gets the guy off of her. Jason takes the guy's
wallet, gives Courtney the money, takes the guy's id and tells him that he knows
his name and where he lives and if he bothers her or anyone else again he will
hunt him down. The guy runs off and Courtney hugs Jason. Courtney and Jason back
off from the hug. He reassures her that the guy won't be back. She thinks that
it happened because as Edward said, she is a stripper and that she is dirty.
Jason tells her to ignore Edward and that she does not need him or his approval.
Courtney realizes that Jason actually cares about people and that AJ is wrong
about him. AJ walks up and sees them together, and tells Jason to get the hell
away from his wife. Courtney tries to tell AJ that Jason was just trying to
help. AJ tells Jason that he's done enough by watching Courtney strip night
after night. (In walks Elizabeth in the background, just in time to hear that
last comment.) He tells Jason to show some respect. He then says that he just
stood up to his entire family for Courtney and then he comes to find her with
Jason. She says she will explain and AJ says there is no need and that it is all
clear. (AJ and Courtney leave and Elizabeth walks over to Jason) Jason asks
Elizabeth why she is outside and if everything is okay. She says she was worried
about him. She said Carly got her a little upset. She then says she overheard
what AJ said and asks if it is true about him and Courtney. Jason explains to
Elizabeth that Courtney was just attacked. She says she was lucky that he was
there. Elizabeth apologizes for leaving the penthouse but she was worried about
him. She asks what is going on and Jason tells her that he can't tell her what
is going on. Elizabeth says, "Courtney must be pretty grateful." She
motions to his neck and asks if that is lipstick or a smudge of blood. He wipes
it off his neck, and says there are things he can't explain to her right now and
he needs to take her back to the penthouse.
Brenda is knocking on the door
of her room trying to get Jason's attention. She says she needs to tell him one
thing about Jax. She begins screaming and banging on the door. She realizes that
someone is on the other side of the wall. She says she can see them moving
through the grate. She keeps asking questions for the person to talk, but the
person on the other side (Sonny) does not answer.
Courtney is still obviously
shaken up over the events of the night before. Liz asks if she’s all right and
explains that she ran into Jason after who explained what happened. At first
Courtney is annoyed that Jason told her, but Liz reveals to her that she was
raped a few years ago and has some idea of what she’s going through. She
offers Sonny’s sister a shoulder to cry on or vent to if she needs one.
Courtney thanks her but is grateful that nothing quite that tragic happened to
her. Lucky for you your brother-in-law was there to save you, Liz replies.
Courtney tells her that she never really thought of Jason as her brother-in-law
before. As Liz asks her how she thinks of Jason, AJ and his co-workers show up
for lunch.
Carly comes in and Liz tells
her about seeing Jason the previous evening, about him saving Courtney and
having lipstick on his neck. Carly tells Liz that she doesn’t care if Jason
was covered in lipstick because for some strange reason wants to be with Liz and
would not cheat on her. Carly says unlike Liz, that Jason would never be torn
between two people. Liz asks if that was similar to her not being able to decide
between Sonny and Jason. Carly starts to rip into her usual spiel about Liz not
being the sweet and innocent person everyone thinks, but Liz quickly apologizes
and asks Carly if she can just vent for a minute. Puzzled, Carly listens as Liz
asks how she deals with the long disappearances with no explanations, except
business and then seeing them with lipstick on their neck. Carly would be
suspicious too. Carly tells her to sit down next to her. Carly tells Liz not to
worry that if and when she sees Jason she will tell him to call her. They thank
each other.
Jason hands Carly her bat and
reams Carly for doing her “Sopranos” imitation at the No Name. She defends
her actions, he says she should have called him. Carly wants to know what the
hell’s going on. Jason tells her to quit stirring the pot and just sit tight
until Sonny’s home. Carly doesn't get why she can't see Sonny now. Jason tells
her that batting practice is over, disarms Carly and leaves. Carly then tells
Max that Sonny needs him immediately and then follows the stupid goon right to
the safe house. Carly shows up at the safe house hot on the heels of Sonny’s
guy. Brenda has escaped and they realize she would have headed to Jax's wedding.
Jason heads to the church for Jax and Skye's wedding. Jason orders Roy to stay
clear of Alcazar and try and find Brenda so that they can get her back to the
safe house before Alcazar sees her. The ceremony begins with A.J. walking Skye
down the aisle. As the bride and groom are exchanging vows, Brenda watches from
the loft. Alcazar opens the door to the room to get ready to shoot Jax and Roy
and Felicia see the door open and realize it must be Alcazar. They go down and
search for him but the power goes out from the storm outside and the rooms
plunge into darkness. They continue the ceremony and exchange rings. Jason is
given orders from one of Sonny's men via Sonny that he is to find Brenda and
return her to the safe house and to not try and apprehend Alcazar at this time.
Jason follows his orders and witnesses Brenda across from him watching the
ceremony but the power failure keeps him from getting to her. Alcazar goes to
make his move to shoot Jax but Brenda grabs his arm and the gun goes off toward
the floor between them. He turns around and finds himself pointing the gun at
Brenda, who stares him down. Courtney enters the church wearing a scarf to cover
her hair in the rain. Jason thinks it is Brenda at first and grabs her. Courtney
fights with him and he realizes who it is and lets her go. She asks him why he
is at the church and realizes it must have something to do with Sonny's
"death." He asks her to not ask him anything else and as a favor to
him he asks her not to tell anyone she saw him at the church since he helped her
and A.J. before. She agrees to not say anything and tells him to be careful.
Jax and Skye finished their
wedding ceremony with no apparent interruption by Alcazar. Alcazar was trying to
get a shot at Jax, but Brenda caught him off guard and tried to convince him to
shoot her instead. Jason then came in and was able to distract Alcazar so that
both he and Brenda could get away. Brenda steals Jax and Skye's limo and gets
away. Roy and Jason set off to look for Alcazar again and when Roy finds him,
they struggle and Alcazar is shot in the stomach (although he behaves as if he's
fine). Sonny and Jason are riding in the limo, when Jason asks Sonny point blank
what he intends to do with Brenda when they find her. He suggests Europe, she
was happy there before. Sonny says no and that they will have to stash her in
Puerto Rico until the Alcazar issue is resolved.
At Courtney’s apartment she
gets another creepy phone call from a man who tells her he’s been watching
her. Weirded out, she runs around the apartment closing all the blinds. She
calls A.J.’s hotel, but he’s out trying to beat the RECO charges in the
middle of the night. With no lights, no t.v., no radio, she uneasily dials
Jason’s cell phone. She tells him that she’s all alone and that she thinks
someone is stalking her. Jason offers to come right over. While Courtney is
waiting for him, someone begins pounding on her door and rattling the doorknob.
Courtney dials 911 and as the operator is asking the nature of her emergency,
Mike’s voice cuts through the pounding on the door. Shaken, she hangs up and
opens the door to her drunk daddy. Jason arrives. Mike lashes out at his son’s
right hand man and demands to know why he’s socializing instead of out
tracking down his son’s murderer. He leaves Courtney’s and Jason begins
questioning Court on her alleged stalker. She admits that the power outage
probably made her more afraid than she would have been otherwise. Jason offers
to spend the night (on the couch) and a relieved Courtney gets him a blanket.
The next day, Jason has walked Courtney to work to make sure that she got there
safe. As Courtney thanks for staying the night, although it wasn’t necessary
she adds, Liz approaches and overhears the tail end of their conversation. She
listens intently as Jason tells Courtney to call him again if she needs
anything. Courtney goes into the restaurant and Liz comes out and asks Jason if
he can tell her what he was doing with Courtney all night. Jason explains his
reasons for being at Courtney’s the night before. Liz apologizes for
interrogating him but tells him that she is worried about him and how he is
dealing with Sonny’s “death”. He needs to slow down and grieve. Jason
tells her that what she is saying is right but he needs to do it this way for
now. He tells her that although Liz and Zander don’t seem to be Alcazar’s
primary targets anymore, it would still be safer for them at the penthouse. Liz
tells Jason that she can’t stay there much longer cause its driving her crazy
always wondering if/when Jason will come home or if someone will call her and
tell her that he has been shot. Jason tells her that he hates what this is doing
to her, but wants her to know that he appreciates the fact the cares about him
and worries about him. At this point, Jason takes her hands and Courtney
approaches from inside and sees the two of them together. After Jason leaves,
Liz begins talking to Courtney about her relationship with him. Liz tells her
that she can handle the danger, but she can’t handle the secrets. Courtney
suggests that maybe Jason is just trying to protect her, but Liz tells her that
that is not the way to do it. Although she is frustrated and ready scream, she
tells Courtney that she is not sorry for getting involved with Jason. Courtney
tells Liz that she can tells how much Jason means to her and vice versa.
Monica has been kidnapped and
brought to Alcazar’s hideaway and is ordered to get the bullet out. Monica
informs her “patient” that she needs certain items from the hospital. She
tells the bodyguard what she needs and Alcazar orders him to go and get the
items. He says he needs a gun in case the good doctor gets any ideas. After
Monica has operated on Alcazar she is taken to GH to get more meds. She sees
Alan so she gives the medication to Alcazar's man, and then she kisses him. A
clever Monica has a jealous spouse who interferes with Alcazar's little death
trap for this devoted doctor. Monica uses the distraction to slip into the
elevator. Jason arrives at the cottage and Brenda tries to stop him from
entering but does not succeed. Once he is inside they argue over where or not
she should return to “safe” keeping. Jason tells Brenda that he will keep
her safe, even if he has to carry her kicking and screaming from the cottage.
Monica pulls the emergency stop and places a call to Jason. She tells him about
her kidnapping and warns him that Alcazar is gunning for him. Monica tells Jason
she is at the hospital, stopped between floors and afraid to get off in case the
man is waiting for her. She promises to stay put until Jason gets there. and
Jason learns about her kidnapping, Alcazar’s injury, and the fact that he may
be up and about soon. Brenda urges him to go help Monica, since she will only
put herself in more danger by escaping from whereever he takes her. With a
warning not to go outside, run if she sees or hears anything, and not to go to
Jax, Jason leaves her. When Jason gets to the hospital he meets up with an
irritated Alan who is still upset about the kiss me witnessed. Monica exists the
elevator and Alan demands an explanation. Jason intervenes and asks Monica if
she can tell him where the cabin is. Telling Alan she was kidnapped and
promising to explain later, Monica rushes off to help Jason find Alcazar’s
hideout. When Jason and Max arrive, they find the cabin empty. Jason finds a
clue to where Alcazar has gone and calls Sonny for help.
Jason calls and tells Sonny
that he missed Alcazar at the cabin but it is obvious from the missing piece of
a map he found that Alcazar is on his way to Brenda’s cottage. Jason asks
Sonny to intercept Alcazar since Sonny is closer and can arrive sooner than
Jason can. Sonny tells Carly he has to go stop Alcazar, but again fails to
mention Brenda in anyway. Jax and Brenda are at the cottage when suddenly
Alcazar bursts through the door, gun in hand. Jax tries to shield Brenda. Jax
tells Brenda to run. Alcazar shoots Jax in the abdomen. Brenda listens in shock
as Alcazar tells her to come with him or he will kill Jax with the next shot.
Brenda runs to Jax and throwing herself across his body dares Alcazar to shoot
her. Alcazar tells Brenda that she can stay and watch Jax bleed to death or save
his life, by going with him and calling 911 from the car. As Brenda kisses Jax
goodbye, Sonny appears in the doorway. He shoots Alcazar twice. Alcazar falls to
the floor. Sonny approaches Brenda, is who still shielding Jax with her body. He
softly says her name. Brenda looks up at him in disbelief. Jason arrives and
tries to help give first aid. Great music moment as the paramedics arrive and
take Jax away by ambulance and Sonny and Jason are once again arrested. At the
police station, Brenda refuses to implicate Sonny in any wrongdoing and states
he saved her and Jax's lives.
In the interrogation room at
the Port Charles Police Department, Sonny and Jason see Carly run into Brenda
just as Brenda is rushing out of police headquarters to see Jax at the Hospital.
Carly recognizes Brenda and suddenly realizes that Brenda must have been
Alcazar's girlfriend. Carly accuses Brenda of being the cause of all the
carnage. But Brenda just pushes past Carly, in a hurry to see Jax.
Carly: (Sarcastically while gripping Brenda by the arm) “We can’t thank you
enough for bringing Alcazar into our lives.” “Brenda Barrett? Or is it
Brenda Alcazar now?”
Brenda: “You need to let go of my arm…I’m going to the hospital to see Jax
(yanks free and starts to walk away) …idiot.”
Carly: (Shrieking to Brenda’s back ) “Well, you’d better hurry because Jax
is married too!”
Sonny: “At least Carly didn’t lose it.” Jason: “Yet,”
Sonny: “You know she’s going to go postal and then what are we going to
do?”
Even Taggert gets in the act by remarking to Sonny, “So, the devil wouldn’t
have you – huh?”
Carly, Sonny and Jason are
dogging Taggert. He wants to know who was buried in Sonny’s grave and commends
Carly on her superior acting skills. He starts to lose it. Sonny tells Marcus to
cut to the chase and tell him exactly what he’s being charged with. “Getting
on my nerves” yells Taggert. Carly smirks that maybe, just maybe he should
check into the PCPD’s anger management program to learn to control his rage.
Mac interrupts and sends Jason out of the room. Jason’s cuffed to a desk when
Courtney rushes into the PCPD. She asks what Jason is doing there and before he
can tell her that her brother is alive, she turns and sees him herself. Courtney
is numb with disbelief when she sees Sonny, alive and well, and in custody! She
rips into Jason demanding to know how he could let her and her father grieve for
someone who wasn’t dead. How could he let Mike sink so low in his depression
without saying a word? In his inimitable minimalist way, Jason merely states
that he did what he had to do to protect Sonny.
Scott orders Taggert to release
Sonny, Jason and Carly as the evidence shows they were acting in self defense.
Taggert protests to Mac, but Mac agrees that there is no evidence to prosecute
and releases his prisoners. However, as Jason and Sonny confer, they agree that
they suspect that Scott is setting them up for something. Jason takes Courtney
home and when they arrive at her apartment, Jason asks if Courtney was at the
PCPD because she is still getting strange calls but she assures Jason that she
called A.J. and A.J. is making plans to come home early and handle the problem
himself. Courtney turns down Jason's offer to check out her apartment. Courtney
thanks Jason for keeping Sonny alive.
Zander watches TV and finds out
that Sonny and Brenda are really alive and that Jax is in the hospital. The news
bulletin triggers flashbacks to the warehouse explosion mentioned on the news.
He remembers holding the gun to Jason's back and then shooting Liz. Liz comes
downstairs and asks if Zander is all right. She asks what's going on and if he's
remembered anything. Zander lies and says "no". Zander says he heard A
news break on TV about Jax being shot, and Liz asks about Jason. Zander then
tells her Sonny is alive, he saw him on the TV. Apparently the whole Sonny death
thing was a hoax. Liz doesn't believe that Jason wouldn't have told her what was
going on? She is angry that she waited around for Jason when he was gallivanting
around with Sonny. Liz finds out that Brenda is still alive. She wants Zander to
leave the penthouse with her and stay at her studio. Zander declines the offer
saying he's going to get his own place and a job. Jason tells Alcazar it's too
bad he's alive and if he gets out of the hospital, Jason guarantees Alcazar will
be dead. The day he leaves the hospital, he should worry. Taggert arrives in the
room with his usual attempts at sarcasm. He accuses of them being friends untied
in their contempt for the law. Taggert speculates that Alcazar hired Roy as a
front man to kill Sonny. He speculates that Alcazar is responsible for the
explosion at the warehouse, and Alexis overhears it asking for confirmation if
Alcazar is the bastard who killed her sister. Alexis asks Alcazar if he's the
coward who murdered Kristina. Monica enters and orders everyone out. Alexis
tells Alcazar to look at her face and memorize it, because she's coming after
him. Taggert he wants Monica to come down to the station and give a statement
about her being kidnapped. Alexis asks Jason for confirmation about Kristina's
death, and Jason confirms it. Alexis now knows that Roy was the front man for
Alcazar, and that Sonny wasn't directly responsible for Kristina's death. Jason
tells Alexis that Kristina was just collateral damage to Alcazar.
Jason returns to the penthouse.
Liz tells him she knows about Sonny and Brenda being alive so he doesn't have to
stonewall her anymore. She asks if that cover all the real reasons why he has
been gone at night while she has sat home wondering whether he was dead or
alive? She questions whether he thinks any of this is acceptable? He says it was
only supposed to be a couple of days. She reams him for staging this elaborate
hoax, making her worry for no reason and she is fed up. She says he will do what
he has to do no matter who is hurt. Then she says poor Carly for not knowing
Sonny was really alive. Then he tells her that Carly did know. She tells him he
has trampled her trust, made her feel foolish, and ruined any chance of them
being together. He tells her he tried to warn her, that there would be things he
couldn't tell her, that he didn't like hurting her, that he was keeping secrets
from her but lives were at stake and that is part of his job. She wants to know
where the truth fits in. She turned herself inside out to prove she deserved his
trust and he did something that makes it impossible for her to trust him. He
asked her to understand that these secrets had nothing to do with her. Liz isn't
buying it and says she counts and deserved him to confide in him. She realizes
he is Sonny's enforcer, "first, last, and always. I hope it is
enough." There is a certain finality as she leaves.
Jason arrives at Kelly's and
asks Courtney if she has had any more problems with her stalker. Courtney
reports that all has been quiet. But, when Jason tries to talk to Elizabeth, Liz
admits that she feels like she does not know Jason and will be treating him like
any other customer from now on. Courtney notices that Liz is pretty frosty
toward Jason and Jason admits that Liz should not have to continue to put up
with the kind of violence that comes with Jason's way of life. Courtney assures
Jason that Liz will soon realize how important Jason is to her, and points out
that the only reason Liz would take the time to give Jason the cold shoulder
would be because Liz genuinely cares about him. Jason insists that Courtney let
him walk her home and Courtney agrees. Liz overhears and watches them leave
together.
When Zander goes into Kelly's,
Liz tells Zander that Bobbie needs a handyman, but Zander turns the offer down,
telling Liz that he wants to start a whole new life, and that means an end to
taking the easy way out. Zander runs into Jason and Jason immediately notices
something different about Zander and realizes that he has regained his memory
but is pretending to still be clueless. Zander admits that he recently got his
memory back but doesn't want Liz or anyone to know that now and wants to start
over again. Jason agrees to keep his secret but warns Zander not to hurt Liz and
to not interfere with Sonny's business again. Zander agrees. Liz comes out of
Kelly's and jumps to the conclusion that Jason is harassing Zander again. Jason
just shakes his head and leaves. Liz confides in Zander that Jason lies about
everything to do with his job and she doesn't know if she can trust him again.
Jason finds Sonny at the No
Name club and tells him that Roy turned down his job offer in Miami but that he
and Felicia gave them Pier 52 for free to show him good faith. Jason asks Sonny
what he wants to do with Brenda now. Sonny instructs him to find a house in
Europe somewhere where there is an ocean or beach and that they can get a
live-in nurse for her down the road when she no longer can care for herself with
her disease.
Jason and Courtney bring an
inebriated Mike back to Courtney's apartment. Mike loudly demands to know where
A.J. is, and Courtney tells her Dad that A.J. is in Washington, D.C. Courtney
finally convinces Mike to lie down, and then Courtney thanks Jason for calling
her to pick Mike up at Jake's. Mike accuses Jason of having designs on Courtney
and warns Jason to stay away from his daughter. Courtney defends Jason and Mike
finally goes back to lie down again. When Sonny arrives, Sonny jumps all over
Jason for dragging Courtney down to a place like Jake's to talk Mike into giving
up on his drinking binge for the night. But Jason explains that Mike listens to
Courtney, whereas, seeing Sonny would have just made Mike angry. Courtney
defends Jason again and angrily reminds Sonny that the reason why Mike returned
to drinking and gambling was because Sonny pretended to be dead and let his
loved ones break their hearts with grief, while Sonny hid out at a safe
distance! Mike hears Sonny's voice and joins the fray, as Mike blasts Sonny for
his uncaring attitude toward his loved ones when Sonny faked his own death.
Sonny asks to speak to Mike out in the hall, and Sonny blasts Mike for dragging
Courtney into Mike's problems. Mike returns and apologizes to Courtney. When
Sonny orders Jason to take Mike home, Courtney suggests that she go along to
help Jason. When Jason, Courtney and Rosie soon. Jason offers to stay, but
Courtney turns him down . However, when Courtney enters her apartment, she sees
that she has an e-mail. When Courtney checks it out, Courtney is terrified to
see herself, at that very moment, on the screen, sitting at her PC!
Jason arrives at Courtney's
apartment and looks at her Internet expose. Jason locates the other hidden
cameras and removes them. When Courtney suggests that it is time to go to the
police, Jason advises against involving the PD because they have a grudge
against Sonny and would probably not take a threat toward Sonny's sister very
seriously. Jason urges Courtney to move into Jason's Penthouse to be safe.
Courtney explains to Jason that, following the trouble at The Oasis Club,
Courtney promised A.J. that Courtney would go to A.J. for help whenever she
needed it instead of to other people. Courtney does not want to beg A.J. to cut
his court case short and return to Port Charles without the victory A.J.
anticipated because Courtney feels responsible for A.J.'s financial reversals.
Jason tells Courtney to vary her schedule in order to keep her stalker guessing.
But Jason tells Courtney that she is only in danger if she is alone and Jason
does not plan to allow Courtney to be alone! Courtney has fixed up the sofa for
Jason to crash, but Rosie jumps up and claims it. Courtney espouses Rosie's
attributes. We see a shadow outside the apartment window, but neither Courtney
nor Jason notice. Courtney tries to give Jason doggie treats so he can coax
Rosie off the sofa. Rosie snuggles up to Jason putting her head in his lap.
Courtney receives another crank call and puts Jason on the phone. They do a star
69 to trace the call, but no one answers the phone. The phone rings again and
its AJ. She tells him the stalking is getting worse and he says he'll be on the
next flight home, but Courtney tells him no. She says she has Rosie to protect
her, and wants to know how much longer AJ will be gone. AJ says another week or
so, and that the judge is in no hurry. Courtney comes out of the bedroom for a
drink of water and asks Jason if it's okay to keep her bedroom door open so
she'll feel more secure. Rosie is still on the sofa.
Elizabeth stops by Courtney's
apartment with Courtney's paycheck from Kelly's and the new work schedule. But
as Liz invites Courtney to accompany her on a shopping spree, Jason suddenly
emerges from the shower! Courtney quickly explains to Liz that her stalker set
up video cameras in her apartment and Jason is trying to help catch the stalker.
Liz cooly turns down Courtney's offer to stay for coffee and rushes off! After
Liz leaves, Courtney urges Jason to go after Liz and tell her how he really
feels but Jason refuses. Courtney gets a call from her stalker. The stalker
tells Courtney that he knows Courtney has been entertaining a boyfriend while
her husband is out of town and the caller threatens to tell Courtney's husband
about what has been going on in his absence! Jason traces the call to a building
across the street. Courtney and Jason investigate the stalker's apartment across
from Courtney, where they discover a telescope set up to peep into Courtney's
apartment, a shrine to Daisy, made up of all the publicity photos Coleman
distributed as posters, a pink garter from one of Courtney's acts, and lit up
like a Christmas tree with a dozen candles flickering. At the stalker's shrine
to Daisy, Jason suddenly suspects that the stalker wanted to lure Courtney and
Jason out of Courtney's apartment. Through the telescope, Jason sees a shadow in
Courtney's apartment. When Courtney and Jason arrive back at Courtney's
apartment, Jason sees an open window and goes out into the alley, hoping to be
able to pursue the stalker before he disappears again. Courtney finds daisies
strewn all over her bed and begins to pick them up just as someone watches her
from the closet! Courtney cleans up the flowers on her bed that her stalker left
for her. She takes the bedspread off to wash as well, unaware that her stalker
is hiding in her bedroom closet. Jason comes back after leaving to go take a
look outside her apartment for signs of the stalker. He tells her he didn't find
him and suggests that she leave the apartment immediately. Courtney is reluctant
to leave her place and hide out so Jason suggests she change her locks right
away and gets a locksmith he trusts to come over and do it for her.
Elizabeth and Lucky walk over
the bridge and Liz tries to convince Lucky to keep his hope alive that Luke and
Laura will not only survive, but will grow stronger through the current crisis.
Lucky and Liz are surprised when Jason and Courtney run onto the bridge, chasing
Rosie. When Courtney perceives that she is getting a frosty reception from Liz,
Courtney explains again that Courtney is being stalked and Jason is guarding
her. But neither Jason nor Liz seem interested in making amends to each other.
After Jason and Courtney leave, Lucky tells Liz that he believes Liz is lying to
herself about how much she truly cares for Jason. Elizabeth tries to explain to
Lucky that she could never accept Jason's violent, crime ridden lifestyle. Liz
explains to Lucky that a major drawback to a relationship with Jason is the way
that Jason does not confide in her. Lucky observes: "Well, mobsters aren't
really known for confiding in people!' Liz then points out that Jason does not
need to be guarding Courtney personally since Sonny has plenty of guards. Liz
tells Lucky that Jason left Liz with a guard at her door while she was being
threatened by Alcazar's men and Liz was safe there. Liz believes there is some
kind of reason why Jason would prefer to be doing a job personally that could
have just as easily been done by one of Sonny's men. She declares she shouldn't
have to fight to turn herself into someone Jason can be with.
Back at Courtney's apartment,
Courtney tries to convince Jason that he should go tell Elizabeth how he truly
feels. He tells her that he is surrounded by death and danger and if Elizabeth
chose to be with him that she would come to regret it. He says she has been hurt
a lot and deserves to be happy. Courtney asks what about him, what about his
happiness? Later, Jason gives Courtney a loaded gun and tells her how to use it,
in case Courtney's stalker ever breaks through all the new locks that he
installed for Courtney. As Courtney puts the gun away, Jason and Courtney
suddenly hear someone rattling at the door. Courtney and Jason are surprised
when the rattling at the door turns out to be A.J. who, of course, does not have
a key to fit the new locks Jason had installed. A.J. is happy to see Courtney,
but shocked when he sees Jason standing in the living room. Courtney explains
that she asked Jason for help with the stalker because she wanted A.J. to focus
on his court case instead of worrying about her stalker. A.J. is surprisingly
calm and thanks Jason for looking after Courtney in his absence. Courtney
explains about the video cameras and A.J. reminds Courtney that she made it
sound like nothing whenever A.J. asked out the situation in his phone calls.
A.J. asks Jason if the stalker is a real threat and Jason offers the opinion
that whoever the stalker is has some money because that person rented an
apartment across the street from Courtney, and had state of the art surveillance
equipment. Jason explains how he changed the locks and added some security
features to the apartment. A.J. thanks Jason and promises to pay Jason back one
day.
Jason arrives at the Hospital
and Brenda tells Jason that she wants money from her inheritance so that she can
return to Europe. Jason and Brenda argue, but Jason agrees to get some money to
Brenda. Zander and Liz meet over something "important." Zander lets
Liz know his memories are returning. Liz wants to know what triggered the
memories, and he said it was the day Jax was shot. Liz looks crushed again that
another man didn't keep her "in the loop." Zander starts apologizing
to Liz, rationalizing why he didn't tell her. Zander tells Liz that he's
testifying in front of the Grand Jury on the Alcazar investigation. Zander says
he told the police the truth about what he remembers.
