Luke returns and tells Laura that he doesn't have the divorce decree as someone broke into the Mexico records office and stole it! He is sure that Scotty is responsible. Luke tells her they can fly to Juarez, Mx and get an exparte divorce without Scotty's consent. However, if he ever contests the divorce it would be invalid and Laura would be a bigamist after having married Luke. Lee tells her that Scott skipped town and they weren't able to find him. Laura deliberates then decides to go through with it, her and Luke fly to Mexico, get the divorce and return to Port Charles and everyone celebrates as their wedding can now proceed.

Later, as Laura prepared for the wedding, Lesley entered and gave Laura a gift that the delivery boy said must be opened immediately. Laura opened it to find a model of the Titan. Laura continued to get ready, looking for her missing earring. Slick and Robert were getting nervous about Luke's whereabouts when Luke finally appears. Soon after, Jean-Paul arrived and inquired as to whether or not Luke and Laura would attend Helena Cassadine's reception the next day. Luke told Jean-Paul that he would be on his honeymoon the next day, and the last thing he wanted to think about is the Cassadine family. After Jean-Paul left, a delivery arrived for Luke. Luke opened the package to find a model of the Titan. The guests began arriving at the mayor's mansion for the wedding. The wedding was potluck-style, and the guests helped to set up as they arrived. Rose Kelly helped to coordinate. As the wedding began, the sidewalk was lined with spectators. Jean-Paul announced on his one-way radio that Luke refused Madame's invitation, but that the gifts were delivered and Madame should arrive at the wedding immediately. When Slick pulled up with Luke and Scorpio, the wedding began. After Joe and Bryan escorted Lesley and Ruby down the aisle, the bridesmaids made their way down the aisle. Laura and Rick arrived, and Rick escorted Laura down the aisle. As it proceeded, Helena Cassadine (played by Elizabeth Taylor) slipped out a door and watched, holding Luke's stickpin and Laura's earring. As Rick and Laura reached the gazebo, Luke offered Laura his arm, and they faced the mayor as he began the ceremony.

Wedding Day Two 11/16/81 - The wedding began with the mayor giving a speech about how proud and happy the community was to see this couple married. As the wedding continued, Helena Cassadine watched from the side.  The couple took their vows of marriage, and then the mayor declared them legally married as they kissed and the crowd cheered. As they walked down the aisle, the couple greeted the crowd as man and wife, hugs and kisses were abundant. The couple shared their first dance as everyone watched. Helena looked on and cursed the couple and all of their descendants. Luke and Robert share a moment before the couple headed off for their honeymoon. Before they left, Luke threw the garter, and Rick caught it. Then, Laura threw the bouquet and Scotty caught it. Scotty threw the bouquet back up to the balcony where Luke and Laura were standing, and he screamed that there would be no marriage. Luke jumped down the balcony, and proceeded to knock Scotty out cold. Luke grabbed Laura's hand, and they ran away, headed for their honeymoon.

The Honeymoon Begins 11/17/81- The town was abuzz about Scotty appearing at the wedding. At the Baldwin's, Scotty told Gail and Lee that he broke into the town hall and stole the divorce papers. Lee then confessed to Scotty that he had burned the papers that were sent in the mail. Lee told Scotty that he gave up alcohol, and that he's dry now. Scotty told Gail and Lee that he was there to seek revenge but Lee replied that there would be no revenge or Scotty would have to contend with him. Meanwhile, Luke and Laura arrived at the Whitaker farm in Beecher's Corners, beginning their honeymoon. They laughed as they read the many, many notes that the Whittakers had left for them. Buford Honeycutt arrived and told the couple that he would return in the morning to help with the chores. He left after saying that he would expect a big breakfast to be ready when the chores were done. Luke carried Laura up to bed, Laura told Luke that she remembers the only time that they made love in that room. The next morning, Luke and Laura woke up after getting very little sleep. Luke assured Laura that he would go do the chores, and soon would be back in bed with Laura.

Helena's Reception 11/18/81-  Scotty goes to a dive bar on the waterfront and mouths of that Laura is still married to Scott Baldwin and is not legally married to Luke. Some of the waterfront guys recognize him as the guy who tried to break up Luke and Laura's wedding and go after him. Brian comes in and gets him out of there. He warns him that Luke is a hero in this town. Robert and Scotty square off and Robert suggests Scotty leave town. Scotty declares this isn't over till he says it's over! The real Titan yacht arrives in Port Charles. Tiffany and Robert smooching. Luke goes to see Helena as she insisted as a condition for her donation to GH. She tells him she wanted to see what kind of a man he is. Before he leaves she puts a sterling rose in his label. Robert, Tiffany, Leslie, Rick, Lila, and the Hardy's arrive at Helena's party and she presents check for $10 million dollars to General Hospital.  Robert invites the Webbers and Tiffany to the yacht for cocktails.  Tiff suggests turning the yacht into a cabaret.

The Honeymoon Continues 11/19/81 - Luke and Laura experienced many mishaps on their first day of chores, and were exhausted by Buford. Between making breakfast, sorting eggs, canning pumpkin and churning butter, they had little time left for romance. At the end of the day, Laura was a nervous wreck, and burst into tears when the dog was caught eating Laura's butter. Laura confessed to Luke that she was still worried about Scotty then the phone rang. Rick called to tell the newlyweds that Scotty promised Lee and Gail that he would not contest the divorce. When the exhausted couple finally flopped onto the bed, Luke remembered his many fights with Scotty. Scotty met Lee and Gail at the Floating Rib, Lee was thrilled with Scotty's new appearance as Scotty had shaved and cut his hair. Scotty told his parents that he had a change of heart, and that he would try to keep peace with Luke. He assured them that as soon as the divorce papers arrived with his things from Mexico, he would turn them over to Lee. Later, Scotty was in his hotel room, holding the divorce decree, which he then hid under his dresser. Scotty decides to return to work at Lee's firm and says he will let go of Laura.

Robert and Tiffany arrive (dressed in their Green Acres clothes) to see Luke and Laura in Beecher's Corners.  One of the neighbors arrives with their live turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. Luke trying to get Robert to feed the chickens but he is a bit out of their element. Robert invites them to live in his penthouse rent-free. Luke turns him down, a bit too crowded for him. Robert tells them the Titan has arrived and suggests that they live on the yacht. Robert and Tiffany then pitch the idea for the Titan to become a supper club/cabaret. Luke likes the idea and thinks it would be a great adventure. Robert complains when a chicken bites him! Robert tells Luke that Helena donated $10 million to GH. Luke tells Robert about his meeting with Helena. Robert observes the Cassidines make the Quartermaine's look like Ozzie & Harriet.

Luke and Laura return to Port Charles and check out their new home, the Titan. On Thanksgiving, Ruby receives a death threat against Luke if she doesn't go to an old warehouse.  Luke and Laura arrive at the Webber's for dinner. Bobbie is worried about Ruby's whereabouts, as she hasn't shown up for Thanksgiving dinner. Then the Webbers get a call to say Ruby hit by a truck. They wildly search hospitals for her but a wild goose chase and she turns up safe and sound.  Who would do such a nasty thing on turkey day? Luke suspects Scotty of trying to ruin their holiday; Robert thinks it's the Cassidines.

Luke and Robert confer over finances, the architect alone is going to be $5,000. They ask Tiffany to become a partner and suggest she sell her big diamond necklace to help finance her portion. The gang brainstorms and decide on Big Band music to perform on boat. Laura is not happy about their plans for the boat and she gets a creepy vibe from it. Luke tells Laura the he isn't a regular guy that he needs excitement in his life, he needs something different and he loves the idea of making the Titan into a club. Laura is worried about the risk; she would like more safety and security. He admits there is risk that they could wind up in a lot of debt but if she will agree to it that he promises that he will make it work. She tells him that even if she agrees to it that she will never like the idea. She does agree and says she will stand beside him. Scotty arrives on the boat and apologizes to Luke for the problems getting the divorce decree but Luke doesn't believe he is sincere.

Rick proposes to Leslie, and she says yes. Rick and Leslie head to the yacht and are filled in on the plans for the new club. They announce their engagement and Luke breaks out the champagne. The next morning, Luke and Laura enjoy some time alone in the new bedroom on the yacht though they are all freezing, as there is no heat on the boat. Tiffany invites Laura to go to NY with her to see her agent. Tiffany and Laura find some brandy and proceed to get quite toasted. Scotty is outside with a screwdriver doing something with the railing on the boat. Luke and Laura come out to the deck, they are talking and kissing with those long lingering kisses, the railing of boat breaks and she almost falls overboard but Luke grabs her just in time.

That night everyone gathers, bearing gifts, for an engagement party for Rick and Leslie. The gang has champagne back on boat. Bobbie and Ruby show up, Luke fills her in on the plans for the showboat. He and Ruby tell Bobbie privately that Noah's father, the senator, is having her past investigated. Bobbie is worried about Noah's reaction when he learns the truth about her past as a prostitute. Luke assures her that if Noah is the great guy she thinks he is that he will understand. Helena sends sterling roses to Luke and Laura. Tiffany and Laura leave for NY, Luke is not happy that Laura is going. Robert and Luke take advantage of the girls being gone to start the remodeling. Tiffany meets with her agent who is played by Milton Berle. She tells him about her country mouse friend, Laura, who will be joining them. Tiffany tells him she is available for commercials. He groans that six months ago that would have been gold but now Tiffany can't get work in either acting or modeling because of her past relationship with the Cassidines as no one will touch her with a ten foot pole. He says the best he can do is in the soft-core porn area. He tells her it will be at least a year before she can work again. (This is sad for our Miss Tiffany but explains why the movie actress is staying put in Port Charles). Luke gets a cold chill while on the boat, a bad premonition. Milton is bowled over by Laura and offers to be her agent. He tells her he is representing a national cosmetic company, Star Cosmetics, and suggests she has a shot as "Miss Star Eyes". Laura laughs that she isn't an actress or a model. He reports that is exactly what they are looking for! He suggests she test for it. She says that is out of the question, then curiously asks what would be involved. He sells it as a once in a lifetime chance and refuses to take no for an answer. She promises to think about it. She later tells Tiffany that NY is a magical, miracle place. Tiffany is not feeling quite so generous about the city at the minute. Laura asks Tiffany if she looks like the next Miss Star Eyes? Laura glows, she has always wanted to be a model. A slightly bitter Tiffany comments that those dreams can quickly turn into a nightmare. Laura tells her they offered her a test. Tiffany cautions her about the business and the casting process.

Luke and Robert working on remodeling ship. Scotty calls and says he has divorce decree just has to pick up his luggage at bus station, he arranges to meet with Luke then runs the decree under water till it is unreadable. Laura and Tiff return from NY. Laura tells Luke about the commercial offer. He hates the idea and says no way. Luke lunches with Bobbie and Ruby; Bobbie is worried that Noah hasn't said, "I love you". She wants to marry him. Luke and Laura argue about her doing "Miss Star Eyes" as Luke can't believe she is going to pursue the offer. Robert asks Tiffany about what offers she received. She reports that there is a movie offer a few months down the road and in the meantime she is going to refuse all offers. An insightful Robert asks if that isn't going to be difficult for her to be patient. She says that is the way acting is, always waiting. He asks if she is a touch envious as she wasn't offer the "Miss Star Eyes" spot. She admits she is, just a touch. Luke and Laura go see Scotty about papers. Scotty shows them the wet paper and acts innocent but they don't believe him. Luke is suspicious of what Scotty is up to. They talk to Joe and he tells them they can get a NY divorce but that will take a year, or they can go to Reno for six weeks to establish residency and get their divorce.

Luke and Laura argue more about her doing the commercial. He calls the film test is stupid, she throws his nightclub plan back in his face and points out she agreed to that even though she doesn't like his idea. He wants her to make their marriage a priority. Luke is hurt and jealous and feels like their marriage isn't important to her. She assures him that it is and he is the one that said to go for an opportunity that she doesn't have to settle for a normal ordinary life anymore than he does. Slick comes in and says he found a great magician and he can teach them some of his tricks. Slick mentions calling the Titan, "The Haunted Ship". Luke compromises and finally agrees to her doing the commercial but he makes her promise to go full out and blow their minds and not hold back. He laughs that it will even be good publicity for the Haunted Ship but asks her if she is going to drop him when she is famous? Laura laughs and hugs and kisses Luke. She tells him how much she loves him; she is so relieved he has finally agreed. He moans that he doesn't know how he will get along without her. He tells her that she better come back to him. She thanks him for letting her have the chance. He acknowledges that it's a pretty exciting opportunity. They snuggle on the coach and smooch; a picture suddenly falls of the wall.

The next morning Luke is not at all happy that he just agreed to her doing a screen test and it's already in the morning papers. Laura doesn't have any idea as she never said anything and hadn't agreed to it yet. Over at GH, Scotty reads the news in the newspaper. Luke goes to the newspaper and talks to the society editor to find out her source for the story on Laura. She tells him Laura didn't have anything to do with it, that it was leaked by a NY agent. Luke goes back to Laura, and they make up. Laura tells him she loves him and he is the most important thing in the world to her and the screen test is just a lark. Because of the newspaper article, lookyloos show up on the boat to get a glimpse of Laura and Luke chases them off.
