Admitting to Brenda that she went to Paris for all the wrong reasons,
Robin accepts her friend's invitation to move in with her. Marjorie pays
an unannounced home visit at the penthouse and is taken aback to find both
Bobbie and Emily playing surrogate mother for Carly's baby. Robin is
surprised when her "uncle" expresses relief at her plan to move
in with a friend instead of coming home to him. After Marjorie departs,
Jason thanks Bobbie for warning him that the social worker was on her way
over to spy on them. Struggling with whether or not to reveal the
truth, Robin made it appear to AJ that she had known all along about
Carly's relationship with Jason. After hearing AJ and Tony vent
their anger over Jason, Robin told them that they knew nothing about
the kind of person Jason really was.
Jason takes the baby to the park for his first outing and quickly bumps
into Robin, who reveals that she's decided to stay in Port Charles. Tony
comes to the Quartermaine mansion looking for allies in his fight to
remove the baby from Jason's custody. Explaining to Alan, A.J. and Edward
how concerned he is for the child's safety, Tony advises forcing Jason's
hand by convincing him to surrender his son to the loving protection of
Monica, Emily and Lila. Robin cautions Jason to understand that she
doesn't intend to simply pick up where she left off when she departed for
Paris. Watching Jason beginning to bond with Carly's baby, Robin
reminds him that the infant really needs to be under the care of his real
father. Tony and the Quartermaine men decide to trick Jason into bringing
the baby to Emily's birthday party.
Jason reminds Robin that he's only going to stay at the Quartermaines'
long enough for Lila to admire her new great-grandson. Though Alan feels
confident their scheme will succeed, Tony begins to worry that Jason will
smell a trap the minute he hits the front door. James flounders in a sea
of weak excuses when Robin wonders why her uncle never came to visit her
in Paris over the holidays. After persuading a wary Jason to let him hold
the baby, Alan informs his son that he's being permanently relieved of the
child's care. Enraged by his grandfather's latest maneuver, Justus finally
reads Edward the riot act. Jason demands that the baby be returned to him
and warns that things will get very ugly very fast if he is not obeyed.
With Justus's help, Jason won his standoff with AJ and the rest of the
family and Jason then left the mansion with both the baby and Justus.
Edward was pained when Justus broke away from him. An angry Emily snucked
out of her window to spend her birthday with Jason. Jason tried to further
entice Justus into working for him. Justus told Jason that he had never
fit in with the Quartermaines and revealed that he had murdered Damain and
had allowed Laura to stand trial for the crime.
Brenda told Robin that she was determined to prove to the world that she
was a great model. After seeing Felicia getting cozy with James/Mac, Robin
wondered if their romance was on again. Jason told Mike about how the
Quartermaines had tried to take the baby away from him. Monica tried
to negotiate with Jason for Emily's return, but he refused to persuade
Emily to leave. AJ and Jason had a chance meeting in the men's room
where AJ made it clear that he no longer felt guilty about the accident
and the choices that Jason had made in his life.
After receiving good news on the baby's health from the doctor, Jason
inadvertently walked into an ambush at the docks. Even though Jason
survived and had earlier sent the baby home, he was left shaken by the
fear that the baby could have been hurt. Jason had Justus draw
up a will in which Bobbie was named as the baby's guardian and trustee of
its inheritance. Jason asks Bobbie for help giving the baby an official
name. Robin volunteers to help Brenda put together a new portfolio in
hopes that it will jumpstart her friend's modeling career. After
Bobbie explains how a christening works, Jason agrees to have the baby
baptized at the Queen of Angels church. Mike is touched and grateful when
Jason asks him to become the baby's godfather. Later, Jason warns Bobbie
that under no circumstances are any of the Quartermaines to be allowed
anywhere near the church on the day of the baby's christening.
Robin and Brenda head to New York City to look for an agent. Jason asks
Justus to help him broker a treaty with Marino in order to make the baby's
world a safer place in which to live. Jason offers Justus a lucrative
position within his organization. Happy to hear that her nephew is finally
going to get a real name, Emily is doubly thrilled when Jason asks her to
be the baby's godmother. Justus agrees to become Jason's new lawyer. Mike
accidentally lets it slip to Robin that Jason is about to have Carly's
baby baptized. At the church, Jason explains to an impressed Bobbie
how he defines faith in God. Robin tries to keep Brenda calm as they wait
for word on Jax's missing plane. With the christening ceremony just a few
minutes away, Bobbie and Mike exchange bittersweet memories of children
they've loved and lost. Bobbie shyly asks Jason for permission to dress
the baby in Lucas' christening gown.
As the baptism ceremony begins, Jason is pleased to see Robin slipping
into one of the pews at the back of the church. When the Quartermaines
suddenly arrive en masse, however, a scowling Jason motions his armed
bodyguards forward and Justus warns his family that they'll go to jail if
they attempt to touch the baby. Promising to keep the rest of the
family silent and in line, Lila sweetly asks permission to stay for the
ceremony and Jason reluctantly gives his consent. The chaotic christening
is interrupted yet again when Marino and several of his goons stroll into
the church. After ascertaining that his "competitor" has simply
come to pay his respects, Jason asks the priest to continue with the
ritual. Jason and Justus greet Marino; he expresses his respect for Jason
and desire to discuss Jason's truce overture. The proceedings begin yet
again until Jason announces the child's name will be Michael after Sonny
at which point chaos breaks out in the Quartermain ranks. Things
grind to a halt as people mill around bickering, and the choir singing
louder and louder. Finally, Jason has had enough and orders them out, but
Robin takes Jason outside for a talk. She argues that he allow them to
stay since they do have a right as family. Mike is touched but the
Quartermaines are outraged when Jason proudly announces that he's decided
to name the baby after his best friend. The baptism finally is
completed, and the baby is christened Michael with Emily and Mike as
godparents. The audience looks on with mixed emotions. Suddenly, the door
opens, and Carly appears.
After handing off baby Michael to his godmother, Jason approaches Carly
and encourages her to step forward but she insists on slipping into a back
pew instead for the remainder of the ceremony. As the baptism concludes,
Monica icily advises Carly to vanish again before she wreaks havoc in the
lives of any more innocent bystanders. Meanwhile, Edward vows to find a
way to wrench the baby away from Jason and rename him with a moniker more
befitting a Quartermaine. As Jason invites Marino to come to the
reception, Bobbie talks Carly into allowing the Quartermaines to attend as
well. Later, at the penthouse, Carly nervously avoids handling her infant
son as the guests file in for Michael's party. Robin has an unsettling
encounter with Anthony Marino, who reminds her that they met years ago
when he was doing business with her late stepfather, Duke Lavery.
Bobbie drops by the penthouse and finds Carly studiously avoiding even
looking at her own baby. Carly bristles when Bobbie attempts to dispense
some advice on child-rearing. Later, Bobbie urges Jason to force Carly to
hold her son for the first time but he insists that Michael's mother be
allowed to deal with her fears in her own way and in her own time.
After hearing about her friend's encounter with Marino, Brenda warns Robin
that it doesn't sound like she's really let go of Jason at all. At the
penthouse, Carly wonders if her inability to hold her own child means she
is truly devoid of any maternal instinct. Although Robin insists that she
and Jason are through, Brenda remains convinced that her old pal is
getting sucked down into a vicious circle which will ultimately destroy
her. Annoyed when Carly treats Bobbie rudely, Jason reminds his houseguest
that Michael's nurse deserves respect for the assistance she's been giving
them. Later, Bobbie catches Carly in an unguarded moment as she stands
over her son's crib. Brenda asks Jason to meet her, then demands that he
leave Robin alone. Bobbie sneaks Monica into the penthouse to see her
grandson.
Emily and Mike dine out with Jason and baby Michael. Back at the
penthouse, Bobbie pesters an annoyed Carly about her apparent lack of
feeling towards her own child. Virginia arrives in Port Charles to
surprise Bobbie with an unannounced visit. Tony can't resist tossing a few
barbs Jason's way after encountering him in the Grill. Carly bitterly
informs Bobbie she doesn't want her coming around anymore with her
condescending attitude and hypocritical advice on how to be the perfect
parent. Virginia heads to the hotel lounge after checking in and
introduces herself to Tony when she finds him occupying the adjacent
barstool. Bobbie tells Carly how much she loved her own daughter from the
moment of conception to the day she had to give her away. As the blizzard
closes roads and knocks out power all over town, many of Port Charles'
residents find themselves stranded at the hotel.
With the power lines down all over town, the Port Charles hotel begins
filling up with refugees seeking shelter from the storm. Jason tries to
call the penthouse to reassure Carly that the baby is fine but discovers
that all of the phone lines are dead. Caught up in the camaraderie
engendered in the blackout, Virginia rattles on to Tony about her
daughter's wonderful life. Filled with a sudden yearning to cuddle with
her son, Carly is grateful when Bobbie offers to brave the blizzard and
drive her to the hotel. Passing the time playing cards with Mike, Jason is
annoyed to suddenly find himself surrounded on all sides by Quartermaines.
Bobbie's car slides into a snow bank, stranding her and Carly on the side
of the road. Robin is taken aback when Mac happily announces to the
crowded bar that he and Felicia are going to be wed. A tipsy Tony accepts
Lorraine's invitation to come up to her room. Carly and Bobbie manage to
walk the rest of the way to the PC Grill. Carly finally holds
Michael for the first time. Carly tearfully informs a stunned Bobbie that
they are mother and daughter.
A seething Bobbie accuses Carly of sinking to new depths to hurt her with
yet another terrible lie. Robin again encourages Jason to let A.J. know
the truth about Michael's paternity. Meanwhile, Carly tries again to
convince Bobbie that she's on the level about the bond which ties them.
Upon hearing Bobbie's news, Tony tells his startled ex why he believes
Carly has finally unveiled the true motive which has colored her every
move since arriving in Port Charles. Later, Bobbie's jaw drops when
Virginia walks in and hurries over to embrace her Caroline. Virginia
embraces "Caroline", then happily introduces Bobbie to her
biological daughter. With Carly's bizarre story now confirmed, Bobbie
bitterly calls the girl a bitch and accuses her of sending for her
adoptive mother. As a baffled Virginia wonders what's going on, Carly is
forced to admit how she came to Port Charles two years ago to find Bobbie.
Virginia berates her daughter for trying to destroy Bobbie's life, then
reels in shock yet again when Tony informs her that she has a grandson.
Bobbie heads to Windemere to demand answers from Stefan, who gleefully
reveals that Luke was a pivotal part of the lie and the cover-up
concerning Carly. Following a quarrelwith her daughter, Virginia collapses
on the floor of the Grill.
At GH, Monica informs a weeping Carly that Virginia did not survive her
second stroke. When Bobbie bitterly reveals that she knows he lied about
her daughter's "fatal" car accident, Luke attempts to explain
why he hid the truth about Carly's true identity to protect her from
further pain. Sitting by her mother's body, Carly fears she's lost the one
person in the world who loved her unconditionally despite all her flaws.
Brenda confides to Robin that she's accepted a job making some kind of
personal appearance. Bobbie promises a shaken Luke that she will never
forgive him for what he's done. After venting part of her rage on Keesha,
Carly turns her anger on Tony and accuses him of killing Virginia.
Carly goes back to the penthouse and tearfully informs Jason that her
mother has just died. Jason is rattled when Carly talks about leaving with
Michael. Later, Jason endures a tongue lashing from Bobbie, who furiously
informs him that she's washing her hands of him and both of his
houseguests. Stung by her birth mother's rejection, Carly icily
advises Bobbie to take a good long look at Michael because it will be the
last time she ever sees him.
Robin shows up at Ruby’s and sits down with Felicia who is waiting for
Mac to return from his meeting with Tess. They discuss Valentine’s Day
watching a couple celebrate together. Felicia brings up the subject of
Jason and Robin changes the subject to Mac and Felicia’s
engagement. Felicia doesn’t give it away that she and Mac aren’t truly
engaged and changes the subject back to Jason. Robin admits that it is
hard not to think about Jason because she still cares for him so much.
Robin goes to the bridge and looks out onto the water. She takes out a
Valentine and throws it into the water. She begins to remember back to a
time when she and Jason met at the bridge. Suddenly she hears
something behind her and turns around. She sees Jason. Robin asks
him why he is there and he tells her it is because he was thinking of her.
He asks her what she threw into the water and Robin tells him it was a
wish she wrote down on paper. Jason tells her he hopes her wish comes true
and Robin tells him it won’t because nothing will change. Robin then
tells him how much she misses him and kisses him.
At GH, Keesha blasts Jason for leading Justus astray. Jason is
unmoved by her lecture. Edward lays the groundwork for future dealings
with Carly. Although she is suspicious she is lonely and he plays her like
a violin. He cleverly offers her sympathy and friendship, and leaves
when Jason arrives. Jason warns Carly about Edward all over again,
and Carly agrees with him absently. Jason seems well aware that
Carly will do whatever she feels like and there is nothing he can do about
it.
Robin came by to see Mac and he dropped everything to catch up with her.
When his niece went upstairs, Felicia informed Mac that Jimmy blew Robin
off at every turn, and Mac should do the same, or risk putting her in
danger. When Robin came back downstairs, he followed those instructions
and Robin left, bummed at the attitude switch. When Robin came into
Kelly's, Emily introduced her to Sarah. Emily told Robin about Nik's
situation and asked for advice and help. Ms. Scorpio suggested turning him
on to speaking in French, that maybe he'd feel less pressure, and have an
easier time of it. Robin and Jason had a tender run-in at Kelly's, she
apologized for planting one on him the other night, he resolved to stay
away from the bridge, and they reaffirmed that their lives were going in
different directions.
Carly is rocking the baby with Jason watching them. She'd thought
mothering would come naturally. There's a knock, and Taggart comes
in and arrests Jason. Carly yells at him, because she's panicky
about being left alone with the baby. Down at the PD, Jason is cuffed to a
chair and go off to see a judge. Garcia talks to Jason, but he won't
uncuff him. Officer Rick gives Jason the phone. It's Carly
panicking over the baby who won't stop crying. Carly brings the baby to
the station and tells everyone off. Tony is being released from
having spent the night in jail sleeping off a drunk, and sees Carly and
Michael there and complains. As if he had a leg to stand on, or
could.
Robin goes to Windemere and Katherine is glad to see her. Stephan,
however, attempts to send her off. Robin gives as good as she gets
and goes outside to wait for Nikolas. Robin meets Nik and tells him
that Emily isn't allowed to come any more. She hands him the French books,
and he asks her to stay.
Carly walks in with two large shopping bags, and tells the maitre d' she's
there to meet Jason for lunch. The maitre d' tells her that Jason
will be a bit late, so she has plenty of time to catfight with Keesha
(who's just entered the room). They discuss their prior run-in at GH,
right after Virginia died, and decide they still don't like each other.
Carly gets in a parting shot about Justus now working for Jason, and then
steps away, just as Robin enters the room to have dinner with Keesha.
Keesha treats Robin to her Anti-Carly tirade, which culminates in her
declaring that Carly is using her baby to get a free ride from Jason.
Robin mulls this over as Jason enters the room with Michael. At their
table, Keesha elaborates on her earlier statement, saying Carly used the
baby to manipulate AJ, then Tony, and now Jason. Robin says that she
thinks Jason knows what he's doing and can take of himself. Carly tells
Jason about her day of shopping and the luxury of having a facial.
She notices Jason looking at Robin and tells him to go over and say
'hello' to her. Jason says that she'll come over and talk to him, if
she wants to. And as Jason predicts, Robin does. They have a brief,
awkward conversation about the the baby and Robin retreats to her table.
Keesha observes that Robin is still hung up on Jason and vice versa. Robin
admits to kissing him the other day, but asserts that they can't resume
their relationship, since nothing's changed. Keesha agrees that
Robin's doing the right thing. Carly starts to get depressed about
returning to the same place where Virginia collapsed and Tony and Bobbie
berated her. She's certain the maitre d' wouldn't have seated her
had she not been with Jason. Jason assures her that, in a business,
no one cares who you are, as long as you have money to pay.
Robin and Keesha's conversation segues into AJ, whom Keesha admits she's
still crazy about. She tells Robin about their romantic evening at
Kelly's, and their new-found relationship. She then reiterates how
badly Carly treated AJ, insinuating her way into his life, and how she's
doing the same to Jason. And, as Robin gazes over at Jason and Carly
sharing a 'family' moment with Michael, Keesha exclaims, "scratch the
surface of that family picture and all you'll see are lies..." Robin
looks convinced and heads over to Jason's table again. But just as
she's about to speak, she notices Michael looking over at her, and Jason
says, "He knows who you are, now". This distracts
her from her original task, but she does manage to plant one seed when she
says that it's a good thing Carly's back so the baby can bond with both
parents. After all, babies grow up so fast, it'd be a shame for a
parent to miss one second of their development. When Robin leaves, Carly
guesses that Robin knows Jason is not the father of her baby and asks him
if he told her? Jason tells her Robin knows him and just knew he wasn't
the daddy. He says that Robin thinks the baby should be with her and AJ
and Carly is nervous Robin will tell. Carly's not pleased to discover that
Robin knows that AJ is Michael's real father. Jason's not worried as
he knows that Robin would never betray him. He reassures her. Monica walks
in, she gives Carly a dirty look and walks past them. Carly complains that
Monica is staring daggers at her.
Jason tells Carly to forget about Monica. He lets her know he trusts Robin
with his life. Monica stops by and tells them she has a gift for Michael.
Carly says he has all he needs. Monica would like to arrange to visit the
baby, but Jason nixes the idea. Monica may not have been involved
with the attempted "baby-napping", but she's still too close to
Alan, AJ and "the old man" to be trusted. But hey, leave
it up to Carly to decide. Carly decides that Michael will be unavailable
into the next century. She asks Jason why she can't see the baby,
she hasn't done anything wrong. Jason explains that she loves Alan, AJ,
and the old man and eventually she will give in to them. Monica accepts
gracefully (of course we know she's not really giving up) and Bobbie has
arrived to join her for lunch.
Jason is
called away from the table to discuss business, he's not giving up control
of the docks and will not let Jax win. Bobbie walks over to Carly and
talks about the baby. She tries to make nice and asks her about her plans.
