Just Jason #4  March 18 - July 2, 1997 - 8 hours

#4A  At Sonny's Penthouse, Jason informs Sonny he found a warehouse that is perfect for what they need. Jason tells Sonny why Keesha needed to see him. "AJ is drinking again and Keesha thought he could help." He tells Sonny AJ was drinking and driving the night he got hurt. "So AJ drinks because he feels guilty." Sonny doesn't understand why Jason never told him this before. Jason didn't think it was important. "Who cares if it was AJ or Ned." But he would use the information to blackmail the Quartermaines if they tried to remove Sonny from ELQ. Sonny is touched. Jason says the only reason AJ is so upset is because he misses his brother. And for the first time, Jason understands. If he had lost Sonny in the cave in, he would have missed him. They discuss the rescue and Jason's inability to draw maps.

Sonny tells Jason that Brenda is hooked on pain killers. He tells Jason about Brenda's behavior in the cave as she went through withdrawals and tells Jason that she is an addict. Jason is surprised as she looked okay when he brought her into the ER. Sonny says she had gone through the worst of the withdrawals by then and he predicts she will be back on it by the end of the week if she doesn't get help. Jason doesn't understand how anyone could get hooked on pills? When he was in the hospital, he would spit them out as soon as the nurse left. Sonny tells Jason about Karen, hiring her as a stripper, sleeping with her and her drug addiction. Sonny says that some people think that was the lowest thing that he ever did as her head wasn't on straight. He says he tried to help her, and when she couldn't sleep that he would give her something to relax, when she needed to stay up to study that he would help her and next thing he knew she was in rehab. He says that he knew some of the strippers took drugs but he never allowed any hard stuff, like shooting up. He tells Jason about Stone sleeping with one of the dancers that he later found had been shooting up. He blames himself for not being more observant and that Stone died because of it. Sonny admits that he never thought pills were as dangerous as hard drugs until he saw what a problem it was for "Cari", the name he knew Karen by. Sonny traces Robin getting Aids from Stone who got AIDS from a drug user and tells Jason this is why it is so important to clean up the drugs in Port Charles, drugs kill. Jason assures him that once Harry's partner moves we've got him. "We'd better", states Sonny. Jason tells Sonny that warehouse space is perfect for what they are looking for. Sonny orders a title search and says he'll make up his mind tommorrow.

On the way to the elevator, Dorman stands in front of Sonny's door. Without warning, Jason opens the door and asks him what he wants. Dorman leaves but not before seeing Taggert is in Sonny's apartment talking with Sonny and Mike. Under Jason's watchful eye, Dorman turns around and gets on the elevator. Meanwhile, Taggert insinuates that since Sonny was involved in the cave in, all the heroin in Port Charles has dried up. Coincidence? He thinks not. An exasperated Sonny berates Taggert for not doing his job. He warns him if he isn't careful whoever is behind this might pick Taggert as his next victim. He asks Sonny if it's a threat. Then out of nowhere he asks Sonny "Will I end up like Deke with a bullet in my head?" There is dead silence in the room as Mike and Sonny look at each other in astonishment. How does he know about Deke? Taggert tells them Sonny mentioned him when they pulled him up out of the cave in, but no one buys it. Is there some kind of connection? After Taggert leaves Sonny tells Jason to keep digging into Taggert's background. Jason tells Sonny Dorman was the person at the door. Jason doesn't trust him, "he's a fake" he tells Sonny. Sonny tells him he'd be doing Monica a favor if he could prove Dorman was lying.

Later, Sonny and Jason talk about Dorman and Monica. Sonny comments that maybe Jason can prove Dorman lied, but he really doesn't owe them anything. Dorman returns home and check the heroin he has taped behind the picture. Just then someone starts knocking. Imagine his surprise when he opens the door to Jason. Jason informs him "oh good, I thought for a minute I might have to break down the door" and just walks into his apartment.

Jason enters and begins to look around. Dorman indignantly asks what he is doing. Jason nonchalantly says that he is searching his apartment. Dorman starts making threats. Jason grabs him and twists his arms behind his back and menancingly suggest he not make any threats. After he lets him to to resume his searching, Dorman begins making comments about Jason's brain damage and details exactly what abilities he lost in a very condescending manner. Jason gets tired of it, grabs him and shakes him and tells Dorman that he annoys him. Jason realizes Dorman is scared and asks, "Of what?" Dorman suggests that he will now call the police. Jason reminds him that he knows where Dorman lives and where he works and he can come after him at any time. After Jason leaves, Dorman retrieved the hidden heroin and stuffed it into a duffel bag.

s Robin prepares to leave Brenda's, Sonny arrives. Sonny is obviously concerned and suggests that Robin stay in case Brenda needs anything. Brenda pointedly tells Sonny that she is fine. She later arrives at Sonny's and they talk about Brenda. Robin tells Sonny that Brenda told her everything, about the pills, about sleeping with Sonny and asks him to stay away from her. They argue about it, Sonny becomes upset as Robin tells him that he has to leave Brenda and Jax alone. Sonny loses it and throws his glass against the wall, shattering it. He can't believe that she wants him to just let Jax have Brenda. Robin tells Sonny that he is stronger than Brenda and he has to do this for her.

At GH, Monica cornered nurse Rebecca and started to tongue-lash her. Dorman whizzed up and verbally slashed Monica to ribbons. She left. Jason, however, was lurking nearby and caught the whole scene. He went up to the nursie, presumably to try to get her to confess she lied for Dorman. However, Jason was distracted by a hospital patient who stumbled to the nurse's desk. He helped the guy sit down. From his pre-med days Jason recognized the signs of insulin shock; he gave the guy some sugar and fruit juice. The nurses finally noticed something was wrong and came running over, followed by Dorman. After the guy was taken away Dorman threatened Jason with legal action for "interfering with a hospital patient". Jason called his bluff and said that HE wasn't the one in trouble here. They verbally sparred a bit before Jason left. Dorman was unnerved by the incident and by Jason.

Jason and Sonny talk about the heroin being back on the streets again. They speculate that Harry's partner must have found someone else to help him distribute it. Sonny tells Jason he feels responsible. He let Harry live, so in a round about way he thinks it's his fault. The person Jason was waiting for has arrived, and Sonny tells him he'll meet him back in the car.

Mike and Sonny are at the penthouse signing papers for the club. Jason drops by to tell Sonny he may have missed something on Taggert. Mike thinks he may be in the way, and tries to leave, but Sonny tells Jason "anything you have to say, you can say it in front of Mike". Jason asks Sonny if his stepfather's last name was Woods? When Sonny nods his head, Jason proceeds to tell him that when Taggert was fourteen that he was arrested by an officer named Deacon Woods. It meant nothing to Jason, until Taggert brought up Deke's name the last time he was here. When he looked into it further, he found out that Taggert was working at the same precinct as Deke when he died. Sonny is visibly shaken, but tells Jason to set up a meeting with Taggert in fifteen minutes down at the dock. Both Mike and Jason think it's a bad idea for him to go alone, but Sonny is adamant.

Mike explains to Jason about Deke. He left Sonny and his mother for selfish reasons. Sonny's mother was a good sweet person, who turned to Deke when Mike left. He never knew until later that Deke beat both of them. Sonny is afraid of closed in places because Deke used to lock him in a closet. He has a bad temper because Deke used to beat him. He can't stand to see a woman suffer because it reminds him of his mother's pain. And he hates cops because Deke was one. Jason comforts Mike by saying you can't go back or change anything. Sonny is a good man just the way he is, and he has forgiven you. Otherwise he wouldn't let you hang around as much as he does. Mike tells Jason he is very wise. Robin comes by to meet Jason and take him on a special date. It's a surprise, and she won't tell him where she's taking him.

Robin and Jason's date is on a river boat where there is a big band dance going on. They start talking about AJ and his drinking and Robin can't help but admit that sometimes she feels bad for him. Since the accident, she and Sonny got a wonderful gift, but AJ and the Quartermaines lost everything. She knows how close they once were. She doesn't mean to hurt him, but she knows the Quartermaines really loved Jason. When he is perplexed she explains that they were his family, until you took his place. You inherited them so to speak. Even he has to see that the mistakes they made, they made out of love. He starts to get defensive, and Robin tries to make him understand what she's trying to say. "If I woke up tomorrow, and didn't know who I was or who you were, would you just give up on me? I hope not. I hope you'd keep trying no matter how many times I pushed you away." Jason wants to know, "why would I go to this stranger and force her to live your life." Robin replies, "Because it was my life first. I'm not trying to make you feel guilty, but Jason did give you lots of things. A healthy body, good teeth :-), maybe you owe him something back." She goes on to say, "Maybe you can help take care of the people he loved." When Jason asks her why, she tells him because "you're here and he's not." She tells him she believes he's strong enough not to get hurt by them. Jason promises to try and tells her he loves her.

Jason broke into Dormans but didn't gain any information before Dorman returned home. Pierce immediately noticed his chair out of place and pulled his gun to search for an intruder. When Pierce searched his place, Jason laid low in the closet and avoided notice. Pierce searched the closet where Jason was hiding but didn't see him and assumed he had exited through the terrace window. Dorman received another Q visitor, this one knocked. AJ came in with a brief case and an offer of 250K if he'd leave town with it. Dorman roasted AJ for a good while before declining the offer. AJ didn't want to let the matter drop though, until Dorman whipped a gun out on him. Throughout all of this, Jason was still in the closet, prepared to rescue his bro if necessary. AJ got wise and left. After dispatching AJ, Dorman stepped into some deep, dark, mysterious part of his apartment, which gave Jason a quick opportunity to split.

Robin calls Sonny and when he asks her how her and Jason are enjoying New Haven, she tells him that Jason has already returned to Port Charles. Sonny immediately orders Morgan to be found, suspecting he is up to something that will put him at risk. When Jason returned, he told Sonny what he'd been up to and got a lecture on safety. When Jason explained that he was trying to find the connection between Dorman and Rebecca Chase, wheels began to turn in Sonny's head. He remembered the nurse in GH that led him to the room where he was shot up with smack; light bulbs were seen and heard popping. Dorman receives a mysterious call, and he wasn't thrilled to receive the call on his home phone. It was drug business from someone who was trying to be helpful, but Dorman had his own plans for distribution. After hanging up, Dorman saw his desk papers had been upset and got more paranoid. AJ showed up at Jake's and ordered a shot of vodka. Jason told him that he heard everything at Dorman's, and ordered him to steer clear. AJ and Jason talk over coffee about what happened in Dorman's apartment. Jason tells him he was in the closet and wouldn't have let Dorman shoot him. He also tells him that he's trying to get some information on Dorman to help Monica. AJ looks at him and says, "you really do care about us." Jason corrects him and says it's because Dorman is lying and he just plain annoys him. He warns AJ stay away from Dorman. He see's that AJ is really shook up and offers him the spare key to his room in case AJ wants a place to crash. AJ accepts it gratefully and says he might just do that.

AJ and Jason are talking at Lukes when Keesha walks in. She is there to meet Taggert. She stands uncomfortably at the bar, when AJ rushes over to see her. He asks her why he doesn't even rate a hi anymore. "Look", he tells her, "it's only coffee I'm drinking." She coldly informs him he has nothing to prove to her. AJ gets upset and wants to know why she is so distant with him. He pleads with her to come over to the table to say hi to Jason, "just like old times." Keesha agrees, and they spend a moment exchanging pleasantries, when Jason notices Taggert is staring at them. He asks Keesha if he is bothering them? She says no and tries to change the subject. Jason makes a hasty exit.

Later, Taggert grills Keesha for information about Jason and Sonny. She finds herself defending Jason, saying he doesn't even like drugs. Taggert increases the pressure and Jason walks up behind Keesha. He tells Taggert he should leave, which he eventually does. Jason tells Keesha there are things she needs to know about Taggert, and after he tells her, she can make up her own mind. Without revealing too many details he convinces her that Taggert is a dirty cop, and it wouldn't behoove her to be associated with him. Keesha breaks down in tears. Everyone she knows is not who they used to be, AJ, Jason, Taggert, Justus, and she doesn't even know who she is anymore. Jason is very uncomfortable but remembering what Robin said he tries to be helpful. He offers her a shoulder to cry on just as AJ walks in. AJ goes ballistic when he see's Jason hugging Keesha. She is mortified over the scene he's causing and Jason warns him to back off. "She was crying", he informs AJ. Mike comes over to the threesome and asks Jason if there's a problem? Jason assures Mike everything is under control, and tells Keesha he needs to get going. But first he warns AJ to calm down before he makes things worse.

Jason arrives at the penthouse. He asks him to hand deliver a message to Brenda. Jason gives him the picture of Dorman he had asked for. Sonny doesn't think he needs it anymore, but it's a good thing to keep, just in case. Jason tells him he has been following Dorman and was surprised to see him cozying up to Jax of all people. Sonny seems surprised, but assures Jason he'll get to the bottom of that. Jason also relates what happened at Lukes with Keesha. Sonny asks if she's okay, and Jason tells him yes. But he did tell her that Taggert is a dirty cop, and even though she didn't confide in Sonny what was up, she seemed very happy Jason warned her about him. Sonny reminds Jason to tell her not to let on to Taggert what Jason has told her. No problem, Jason tells him. Brenda is surprised to find Jason at her door. He gives her the envelope and asks if she's okay. She says yes, but he hesitates for just a moment before leaving. She stops him and asks him if he'll tell Sonny.....then says, "Never mind" as she changes her mind and closes the door.

Dorman opens his front door to get his morning paper and reads the headline. "Damn you Monica", he snarls. He sits down at his desk and reaches for some papers when there's a knock at the door. Emily's "friend" Matt is standing there. Dorman informs him through gritted teeth that "he warned him never to show his face here." Matt pushes his way through the door and defies him. "I tried doing it your way, but you never returned my pages last night." Dorman tells him that he already explained to him the drugs have temporarily been dry. Matt notices the papers Dorman left lying on his desk. "You copied Emily's diary?", he asks Dorman. "I only agreed to get it for you because I thought it was goofy." Dorman warns him if he wants to live to see his graduation he'd better leave... NOW. Matt shrugs and leaves. Dorman is holding the copies of Emily's diary when he calls up the newspaper asking for the editor. He informs the paper that he has a hot tip on one of the most famous families in Port Charles.

Jason popped into the nurses' station to talk up Nurse Chase; Dorman spied them and approached, Alexis cut him off to question him about the newspaper article revealing his past history of harassment. He had better things to do like quiz Amy about where Jason ran off to. Amy, however, blew Dorman off. Re-enter Jason, and he and Dorman taunt each other a bit. "Have you checked in with your family, lately?" Dorman asks.

At the hospital, Jason and Dorman are watching the news as it is revealed that AJ was driving drunk the night of Jason's accident. Jason turns off the tv. He looks at Dorman and accuses, "It was YOU, wasn't it?"

"Poor brain-damaged Jason." Dorman lies. Audrey comes up and overhears Jason threaten, "If you had anything to do with leaking that story, I will kill you." Jason sees Sonny outside of the Q's and tells him what's going on. They discuss why Jason is now taking care of A.J. Robin told Jason he was supposed to take care of the people Jason Quartermaine cared about because "He's not here and I am. I didn't get it. I still don't, but she's usually right about that stuff so I promised her and I'm going to try. Wish me luck, 'cause I don't know what I'm doing." (meaning Jason Quartermaine isn't here but Jason Morgan is).

A.J. goes to Jason's apartment and looks around. A.J. has flashbacks about himself and Jason in happier days. He takes out a picture of the two of them, and sits down to write a note. Jason goes in and calls his apartment, just as A.J. leaves it. Edward blames Jason for telling Sonny. Jason tells him "He's got more honor than you and Ned put together, so instead of trying to blame him why don't you use some of that money trying to FIND him!" The news comes on showing Veronica Bowles in fine harry-the-Quartermaine style. Jason leaves to look for A.J.

AJ is drinking at Jake's when a very sexy looking Carly saunters in (remember this is the bar below Jason's room) and flashes him a smile (she is reeling from her fight with Tony, and he from the revelation to the world that he caused Jason's brain damage). She tells him she's looking for Jason; he says he is too. AJ talks her into having a drink at a table where they flirt around shamelessly. AJ and Carly toss down a few more cocktails and giggle up a storm. Eventually, he gets her to talk about Tony and lays down a thick line before he kisses her. AJ suggests a place very near by where they can be alone. Carly makes out with AJ in Jason's room. After a few minutes of passion, Carly pulls back and says she's not ready. AJ, the sensitive guy that he is, replies, "That's all right, we have all night."

Jason comes into Jake's looking for AJ, the bartender told him that he was there but left with a woman, but he left a note for him. While Jason is reading the note, AJ and Carly are making out hot and heavy upstairs in Jason's room. They undress each other and make love. After Jason reads the note that AJ left, he call the Q's house and Lila anwers the phone, she tells Jason about Emily is in trouble, he says "I'll be right there", he hangs up the phone and leaves. AJ and Carly talk after they made love and then rolls over to go to sleep. Carly realizes what has happened and starts to cry.

At the Q's house, Emily, Ned, Jax and Reggie come down the stairs talking and tells Emily she's going to the hospital. She puts up a fight, then Jason walks in and Emily says she can't breathe and collapses in Jason's arms. Emily stops breathing and Jason does CPR on her, while Jax calls the EMTS. Jason revives Emily and the EMTs arrive and take over and rush her to GH. At the hospital, Dr. Dorman is the only available doctor to treat Emily. Ned insists on another doctor, but relunctanly let's Dorman attend to her. Ned asks Jason how he knew CPR? Dorman talks with nurse while Jason and Ned look on from the hallway.

Jason stands watch in front of Emily's room. Alan and Monica look forlornly at Jason, glad he is there but missing Jason Quartermaine. Dorman corners Monica alone and reams her for being negligent regarding Emily. Jason overhears and comes to her rescue. He grabs Dorman by the throat and throws him up against the wall, for once silencing the creep. Monica thanks Jason. He assumes she means for running Dorman off, but she clarifies that she meant mostly for saving Emily back at the house. He tells her that HER SON saved Emily because he learned CPR. Monica says that actually it was Jason Morgan who saved her and that Emily needed him and he was there for her.

Jason calls Sonny and fills him in on the Emily situation. Alan and Monica are with Emily when she starts to wake up. Dorman is trying to tell them what to expect and they kick him out of the room. Emily wakes up and when she apparently realizes what has happened she starts to cry. Monica assures that everything is going to be fine. Ned walks up and tells Jason that he was worried Emily would wake up like he did, not remembering anyone. Then he says that she might be better off if that was the case. Jason says that it's very hard not to know anyone. Ned says that he feels so bad that even though he promised not to let anyone down like he did Jason, he let Emily down, for the good of the family. Sonny met up with Jason, outside Emily's room, and Jason filled him in on the previous night's exitement. Sonny ordered him to go home and rest. Sonny complains to Ned about Dorman being Emily's doctor as Tony finally arrives.

Carly is frantically trying to get hold of AJ. She imagines a conversation between he and Jason, where AJ asks Jason why he didn't hook him up with Carly before! Carly finds AJ still drinking the next morning at Jake's. She tells him sthat he wanted to "forget last night ever happened," and asked for his help in ensuring she can. He looked perplexed. "It's not the end of the world," he says. "We tied one on together, no big deal." Carly then spilled out her "I'm not really that kind of person" schpiel...and he stopped her to ask just what happened...he blacked it out. Siezing the opportunity, Carly told him that he rescued her from passing out drunk on the floor of the bar, and took her upstairs to be sick in private. While AJ was bummed that he has no recall of doing a good deed, he bought it and asked, jokingly, her to write a nice note to Keisha, so he'll get brownie points. Enter Jason. He assumed Carly was there looking for him, and was surprised that she even knew his brother. "Who doesn't know the city councilman," she faked, said she was there because her car broke down, and left for the bathroom.

Jason filled AJ in on Emily's big adventure. AJ was shocked. "Why would she knowingly put this stuff into her body," he asked. "Why do you drink," Jason returned. After expressing a little more outrage, AJ left for the hospital. When Carly came out of the little girl's room, Jason quizzed her a little about her knowledge of AJ, because their earlier conversation looked a little heavy to be about car troubles. "Okay, you caught me. I came to this really cool bar to think and get my head straight." she reports. He claimed to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Jason returned to the hospital and spoke with Sonny as he remembers that Nik Cassadine had told him weeks ago that he thought Em was in trouble. Jason had assumed that Alan and Monica would look out for her. Later, Jason ran into Alan and Monica and asked where AJ went off to? Alan assumed AJ'd gone back to get drunk. Dorman called Matt (Emily's drug friend) and tells him about his hot new product. I'll make the drop in the usual place, he told Matt.

Em received a visit from Jason. She told him a little of her woes, being careful to protect the guilty (Matt). She told him that when she woke up in ER and saw Dorman, she was sure she was being punished. Dorman took an opportunity to tweak Jason, voice his low opinion of the family and lay the ground for putting the blame of Matt's overdose at Emily's door. Jason tells Sonny that Stefan knows the club will be packed tonight, and Luke's house will be empty. Jason complains about Dorman's obnoxious behavior, making it sound like Matt's overdose was Emily's fault. Jason says he wishes he would have broken Dorman's hand. Sonny says he wishes Jason had done more than that and then he blows Jason's mind when he tells him that Dorman was Harry's partner and is responsible for the drugs. his theory about Dorman and the drugs. The two rehash the facts and Jason threatens to kill the evil doctor. He was ready to go do it at that moment, but Sonny calmed him down and explained that first, they had to stop the pipeline, then "Dorman can meet with any accident you want." Jason gets up to leave, but Sonny follows him outside and reminds Jason that he can't let his personal feelings get in the way of the operation.

Emily tries to call Matt but his mom bitterly informs her of his death by overdose. She then accuses Emily of being the one who turned Matt on to drugs. "You killed my little boy, you tramp," she says and hangs up. Dorman walks in and starts trying to comfort the distraught girl though he is just trying to find out what she knows about Matt's death and if she knows who is drug dealer was. AJ walks in and tells him to get out.

Luke and Sonny watch Jason following Dorman. Luke offers, "Ten bucks says he decks him."

Sonny promises, "In which case I'll step in before he kills him." Dorman confronts Jason and says he is a mental case with a pre-disposition for violence. He threatens that he can swear out a complaint and have Jason institutionalized at any time. Jason doesn't seem concered by this and says, "Then why don't you?" Dorman claims that he has compassion for Jason's family, afterall they already have a drunk and a drug addict to deal with. Jason promises that Dorman will pay. Jason joins Sonny and Luke and offers that he will take Dorman down anyway Sonny wants.

Jason tells Luke that party that night at his club is a sellout. Sonny asks him if he is going to stick around? Jason says yes as Gina wants him to. Sonny tells Jason that Gina likes him and he means that she "likes him, likes him". Sonny asks Jason to be nice to her (she is Stone's little sister). Jason asks Sonny if he remembers when Sonny asked him if he ever started to sound like Mike? Sonny laughs, "That bad?" Jason jokes, "Not yet."

Carly arrives and gives Jason a big hug. He tells her that Dr. Jones called and he won't make the concert as he had to work late. She decides to split and be with Tony. Luke introduces the band, "All Four One" and they play a song from "Space Jam." The crowd applaudes and the concert continues with another song as the PCers get up and dance.

Carly arrives at Tony's office and finds him holding a weeping Bobbie. Carly's face crumples, and she starts crying herself. She moves away before they realize she is there and walks away. Back at the club, the concert continues. Everybody is "getting down" to the music. Luke dances around, lifts Amy to the bar to dance, gets everybody up and shakin', and while they are all distracted, he shimmies right on out the door. Carly arrives back at the club. Jason sees her and comments, "What's the matter? You look like somebody died."

Carly answers "I thought Tony was at the hospital, but he wasn't. There's nothing wrong between Tony and me. Everything's just fine." Jason says he doesn't care, he was just trying to act interested. Carly snarls, "Well, don't. It's not your strong suit." The concert continues with the next number as various PCers are shown in the crowd.

Jason pops in to see Emily. She is being released and she's a little frightened at having to show her face in the real world, where people can't get fired for pointing you out for gossiping about your o.d. She's envious of Jason's arrogance, and notes that she and AJ care too much about what others think of them. Jason gives Emily his pager number and offers to visit and get her out of the Q house whenever she wants. He returns her charm bracelet that he found in the park. AJ comes in as Jason is leaving and asks about the bracelet. As she explains how she lost it, she starts to break down and tells him about Matt's upcoming funeral, and Mrs. Reynolds' accusations. The all-new, improved AJ tries to help her see that the woman was just lashing out for the first, best target, and partly succeeds; when he threatens to find the punk who got her on drugs and beat 'em to a pulp, Emily confides that he'd be looking for a dead man as she got the drugs from Matt.

Dorman dresses down Rebecca Chase self-righteously about some patient while Jason lurks. He tries to get the shaken nurse to see his point of view regarding Dorman, but she skitters away. As Pierce is fiddling with paperwork, the tinman comes up and demands his attention, saying they "have business to discuss." Jason lurks, his interest peaked in this new turn of events. Dorman's supplier isn't happy at the lack of funds coming towards their end of the pipeline. Dorman makes excuses but the mob guy pats him on the head and tells him he's running out of time. Jason's still lurking, but gets an ill-timed page on his beeper; spots some odd looking metallic object on the ground, and pockets it. It is a gum wrapped that has been folded into an origami animal. They later name the guy, "The Tinman" as he drops the little things everywhere he goes, always leaving a trail. At this moment, when Jason calls Robin back in answer to the page, he is heard urgently asking her if she is sure repeatedly and then rushes out.

Jason isn't seen for a couple of episodes then appears again talking to Robin on the payphone again. He tells her that she was somehow set-up and that she must not go anywhere alone, "Something bad is coming down here--I don't want you involved." It seems as though Robin does not want him involved either (though we can't hear her end of the conversation), because he seems to be having a bit of an argument with her. When their discussion concludes, Dorman comes over and gets in his face. The hospital phones are for the use of patients and visitors. "We can't have every degenerate coming in off the street and using them to facilitate their love life." Jason tells him to call security if he doesn't like it. Dorman asks if Jason is going to beat him up like he threatened to do in the courtroom with he was "showing off for his mommy."

Before Jason can answer, his beeper goes off. "That's probably your mommy calling you home to dinner. Run along like a good boy." Jason leaves. Dorman lingers and he flashback to how he bribed Jax's driver to hide a packet of drugs in Jax's bag. The driver got $100,000 for slipping th packet into Jax's carrying case. Dorman warned the man to keep his mouth shut and disappear fast, if he knew what was good for him.

Taggert arrives at the airport (Jax has just been detained after drugs were found in his luggage, planted there by Dorman). "Who are we planning to kill today, boys?" He has a friend in the DEA who gave him the low-down. Imagine finding Sonny Corinthos on the scene of a drug-bust, he quips. Jason arrives. "And everywhere that Sonny would go, his lamb is sure to show," Taggert remarks. Jason and Sonny talk privately and Jason explains that he had to drop the tail on Dorman because he got a call that Robin was in trouble. He hurried to Connecticut to find it was all a set-up. Sonny is pretty sure that Dorman's behind it, and the set-up of Jax. Dorman was feeling the pressure from Sonny and Jason, so he used Jax to deflect attention from himself. In planting the drugs on Jax, he also incriminates Sonny, since everyone knows of the rivalry between them. Jason is furious at Dorman for using Robin, and tells Sonny that he wants to kill Dr. D. Sonny promises that Dorman will pay, but first he must lead them to his suppliers. Jason must hold back his anger for the time being.

At GH, Emily is on her way to a drug counseling session; she runs into Jason who is spying on Dorman. Jason says he will attend the family drug counseling session if Emily wants him there; she decides she can do without him. Dorman attempts to speak to Em but Alan comes up and steps in between them and warns him to stay away from her. Dorman goes on the offensive and threatens to have Jason committed. Alan says he would like to see Dorman try that. An amused Alan comments that Dorman is afraid of Jason and Alan gets great pleasure from this observation.

Later on, Alan jokingly congratulates Jason for rattling Dorman. He and Monica discuss Jason's vigilance over Dorman's movements. Monica is surprised that he is staying so active on this so long after the trial and wonders if something else is going on. Monica and Dorman exchange ugly words. Jason rushes to her defense and makes another public threat against Pierce's life. After he has chased Dorman off again, Monica asks him what else Dorman is into. She realizes Jason following him must be about something else and she guesses that he had something to do with Emily's overdose. Jason assures her that whatever else Dorman has done that he will pay for it. Monica appreciates Jason's continued support. Over at Jax's penthouse, Sonny fills Mac in on Dorman's drug activity, how he brings the drugs in the country using patients. They don't have proof of it all yet and so Jax has to remain the accused in the public's eyes. Jax is adamant that Sonny is the one who planted the drugs on him and doesn't believe the Dorman storyline, he accuses Sonny of being the drug dealer.

As Dorman walks in the door, he is grabbed from behind and given a shot. Dorman falls into a chair, groggy. "What are you doing to me?" he whines at the gloved figure who locks the door and holds a rope in both hands. Dorman is tied to chair and smacked across the face. The light is turned on and the audience is surprised to see that his captor is Monica! "Relax, Pierce. You're not going anywhere, not trussed up like the turkey you are." Dorman asks if on top of everything else she's done to humiliate herself, does she want to add a prison rap to it? Monica smiles and shrugs, "What've I got to lose?" She marvels at his gun and asks if that is what doctors are carrying in place of the usual little black bag? She tells him that she did not stab him as that would be too quick. Pierce is alternately pleading for mercy, then reviling Monica hysterically. Did she shoot him up with heroin? Monica parries, you mean the way you shot up Sonny? Pierce counters, "Who cares if one more gangster dies?"

Monica snarls, "Don't you get it, Pierce? I'm your worst nightmare. A woman who's in control of you." Pierce warns her that he'll destroy her. What he did to her before was kid stuff. Then he offers her half a million if she'll release him. Monica taunts him that she will see that he suffers just as he made her family suffer. The most helpless she ever felt was seeing her daughter Emily in the hospital from an overdose of drugs that he provided. She asks Dorman, "How does it feel to be helpless?" Dorman puts on his phony-sincere act about how he got in over his head with some bad guys, but he never meant to hurt anybody. He begs her to save him. Monica shuts him up, "Stop sniveling. I injected you with sodium pentathol. Why else would you be vomiting up the truth? I've got you, little man.

Dorman whined, groveled and ranted some more, to an unimpressed Monica, who threatened him with various tortures and settled on reading him Matt's toxicology report. She faced him with Matt's murder. Dorman squirmed some more. She held up a needle to show Dorman exactly the amount of heroin that had killed Matt. He groveled some more and screamed when she injected him. Monica informed Dorman that she had not injected him with heroin, just some more sodium pentothal. When he demanded to know what she was going to do with him, she told him that she intended to put him on trial for his crimes and that the judge would be Monica Quartermaine.

Sonny & Brenda are cozying on the waterfront when Jason arrives with the news that Dorman's disappeared. No sign of him anywhere and no sign that he packed his bags. But Jason did find transcripts from Emily's diary in Dorman's apartment. They go over the notes and find they point to Dorman. Sonny and Brenda go off to find Mac and inform him of the development. Jason goes through the diary notes and has a flashback to Monica talking about Dorman and using the same adjectives about him that Emily used about Matt's dealer. He realizes that Monica knows about Dorman and rushes off.

Dorman, meanwhile, is trying to loosen his wrist binds, when in walks Monica, cool shades and all. Court is in session, she announces. He tries talking her out of her actions, playing for time to wriggle out. Monica pulls out a hammer and starts the trial- Dorman vs. the Truth, with her as judge, prosecutor and jury. Throughout the trial, he continued to be his snarky self while Monica reeled off his crimes against herself, AJ, Emily, Sonny, Marilyn Cooper, et al. Throughout this, he continues to work on his binds, until he finally is able to break free. When he attacks Monica, she is well prepared and has him tied back up in no time. Eventually, the verdict is in. Guilty. Monica pulls out her big, black bag.

Jason arrives at the Quartermaine's and bangs on the door. Alan is surprised to see him as Jason rushes in and urgently says he needs to see Monica. Alan says she left early that morning. Jason asks Alan to page her. Meanwhile, in the sleazy motel, Monica is threatening Dorman, who asks "Are you going to kill me?" "After everything we've been through, you know me so little. Do you know Gilbert and Sullivan?" She wants to make the "punishment fit the crime." Monica starts listing his crimes. She might leave it up to the courts if it weren't for Emily. Monica receives the page and gags Dorman. When Monica calls, she tells Jason that she is at the hospital. He says he'll meet her, and she says there's no point as she's coming home. Jason tells Alan and Emily that Monica is coming home. Mac arrives looking for Monica. He tells them that Dorman has dissappeared. Jason does a *69 and finds out Monica called from the Starlight Motel, and he dashes out. Mac follows him.

Monica contemplates a diagram of the brain. She describes a lobotomy. "Granted, I'm not a neuro-surgeon, but I think I can connect the dots here although the conditions are rather primitave." She might mess up something else, his ability to read, or to walk for example. Dorman pleads, "Monica, I understand your rage."

"No you don't." He tries to appeal to her reason that this will cost Monica her career and freedom. She says that's okay, he's ruined those for her anyway, so vindictive is as vindictive does. Hmmm. Maybe she should go for the heart, as she knows her way around the heart. Or maybe she "should forget about the brain and the heart and go right to that part of your anatomy that you so love to show off to women... decisions, decisions!" She has scalpels.

"Monica, you won't be able to do this.... Think about what you're doing!"

"I am," she grins. "Isn't it great?" Dorman starts to beg that the Monica he knows could never do something this horrible. She agrees that the Monica she was would never have done this and then she met him! She agrees that if she turns him into a veggie that some poor fool would have to take care of him and she might have to see his face. It's not worth it, she might as well just get this over with. She gets out a gun and points it at him. Dorman is quite scared and says that the maid saw her come in, the desk clerk, and she probably even left her car in the parking lot. He says she will be tried for murder! She says that the Quartermaines have a ton of money and no one will grieve for the drug dealing scum that he is.

Dorman starts screaming for help that she has a gun! Jason enters and closes the door behind him. He is wearing black leather gloves and looks ready for business. Jason stops Monica from shooting Dorman and told her that he would handle everything. He asks if she ever touched the gun or anything in the room without gloves? She says no. He asks if she used her credit card to pay for the room? She says no that she paid cash. But he points out she called the house from the hotel phone. Dorman is now more afraid of Jason and says that if he disappears that Jason will be the first person suspected as he has been stalking Dorman and threatening his life for weeks. Jason smacks Dorman and tells him next time that he will break his jaw. He asks Monica for tape for Dorman's mouth. Monica tries to stop him and says she can't let him kill him. Jason says that Dorman still has a lot of talking to do and that Jason probably won't be the person to kill Dorman as there are a lot of people who would like to keep him from sharing all he knows.

Mac burst in and tells Jason to put the gun down. Mac tells Jason to release Dorman. He jumps up and starts demanding that Mac arrest Monica that she kidnapped him and drugged him. Mac begins reading the rights and Jason and Monica both look very somber. Mac then surprises everyone by asking if Dorman understands his rights? Dorman resists and says no way, he can't believe Mac isn't arresting Jason and Monica. Mac warns Dorman that he can shoot him for resisting arrest. Dorman agrees to be arrested to get out of this looney bin and threatens that he will have Mac fired for this. Mac reads the charges for illegal transport of narcotics, illegal possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell to minors, murder! Dorman says he has no proof. Dorman smirks that this won't hold as he doesn't have any evidence. Mac tells Jason and Monica that none of this ever happened and for him to clean up and go. Mac told Jason to put Emily's dairy back into Dorman's apartment so that he could build a case against him. Monica, Jason and Dorman were shocked, but Mac made it clear that he was going to do whatever it took to put Dorman away. Monica and Jason bonded over their concern for each other's welfare.

Jason stops by Audrey's hospital room and expresses concern (the new PC interns drilled a hole in her head during the PC 2 hr premiere). He tells her that he will have to let Sonny know what happened in the motel room between Monica and Dorman. She wishes he would keep it private but he assures her that she can trust Sonny's discretion. Brenda and Sonny come in. Jason informs them that Mac has arrested Dorman. He keeps the info on the Starlite Motel to himself.

Monica and Alan are discussing her kidnapping Dorman. Jason comes up looking worried so Monica tells him that she told Alan everything that happened. Alan thanks Jason for helping Monica; Jason replies it was no big deal. Alan says it was and he will never forget it. They talk about whether or not Mac has the enough evidence against Dorman. Alan goes to call Mac and finds out that Mac was fired. The trio looks stunned and Jason leaves for the police station. Dorman, now out of jail, thanks Rebecca for signing the affidavit swearing she saw Jason attack him. She says she didn't need to see it happen to know that it did as she can see the bruises on his face. Dorman's attorney, Graff, walks up to them and informs them that the paperwork is in motion to get the order against Jason. Taggert walks up and Dorman begins to bully him, telling him that he's going to sue the department and Taggert will get fired along with Mac. Graff leaves to pick up the order and Taggert warns Dorman not to get too cocky because the police department has not and will not forget Dorman. Graff brings in the restraining order against Jason and then leaves. Dorman turns to taggert and asks who should tell Mr. Morgan? Jason comes in and asks, "Tell Mr. Morgan what?"

Dorman replies, "This bonebrain. Oh, I forgot. You probably can't read. What this is (Jason snatches restraining order away from Dorman), well, you'll find it's a piece of paper. It's a restraining order from a judge which means you have to stay the h*** away from me. Rebecca glares at Jason and she and Dorman leave. Jason throws the order at Taggert and demands to know why they couldn't hold him. Taggert simply tells him "insufficient evidence." Jason asks where Mac is? Taggert tells him he was fired over a disagreement with the mayor about Dorman and is now in Canada for some private investigating of a kidnapping case.

Jason calls Sonny and fills him in on the restraining order and Dorman being out of jail. Sonny tells Jason that he'll meet him at GH and hangs up. Monica blames herself because if she had asked Dorman where he hid the drugs, there would be a reason to keep him in jail. Jason arrives and informs them that Dorman's out of jail and has a restraining order against him. Monica and Alan get mad and Alan starts ranting about how he could still fire Dorman. AJ walks off the elevator carrying Emily with Ned following sheepishly behind. Monica asks what happened? Ned tells about Emily "freaking out at the house". Ned says that Em is upset over Dorman reading her diary. Monica realizes with horror that Em heard her talking to Mac. Ned tells them that Em started crying and then she wouldn't speak or respond. Em has her hands clasped in front of her and is rocking back and forth. Monica tries telling her that there's no need to be afraid and no one is mad at her but Em still doesn't respond. Emily is taken into see a doctor.

Sonny and Brenda arrive at GH and ask Ned and Jason what happened? Brenda asks if it was a drug slip? She and Ned leave and Sonny asks Jason if he's okay? He says no, the cops screwed up, Emily's a mess and Dorman is responsible. They agree he needs to go down soon and that when he tries to grab his stash and bolt, they'll be waiting for him. Sonny tells Jason to go check on Emily because he must be worried about her. Rebecca runs into the Nurses' Station apologizing for being late due to a family emergency. Jason walks up to her and asks, "Dorman's family?" She tells him she'll call the police because there's a restraining order against him. Jason cooly replies that it applies to Dorman, not her. He asks why would she lie for him again but Sonny walks up before she can answer and tells Jason he needs him to do something and for her to go back to whatever she was doing. Sonny tells Jason to back off and to keep an eye on Dorman because he has to leave but will be back soon. Jason is still staring at Rebecca when Brenda walks up and asks him where Sonny went? He says he doesn't know but that Sonny will be back soon. Brenda guesses it has to do with Dorman and tells him to go see Emily because she's really crazy about him. As he leaves, she notices he was staring at Rebecca. Brenda reams Rebecca for lying for Pierce.

Dorman is on his way out with his bag and finds Sonny, Joseph and another enforcer at his door. Joseph rips out the phone while Sonny tells Dorman what is what. "Amateurs eventually make mistakes" and shooting Sonny up with drugs was a huge mistake. Sonny suggests it's not safe for Dorman to leave the premises. "You've been speaking with Monica. Were you going to tie me up and give me a lobotomy also?"

Sonny laughs, "Hahahhaha! Ah, she DID that?? I LIKE Monica!" He goes on, "But see, I'm not in the mood for a lobotomy, but I know a couple of guys who would love to give it a shot. 'Sa matter of fact, I've already told them about you." Sonny tells Dorman not to leave the apartment and if he doesn't listen then "don't blame me if you don't get where you're going." As soon as they leave, Dorman gets on the phone to make an airline reservation.

As Emily is waiting for her Dr. appointment with Dr. Rodgers she runs into Dorman and he threatens her that if she tells anyone that she has seen him that he will take care of her and her mom. Emily tells him that she wishes that he was dead. Sonny is outside the hospital telling his enforcers to watch all the doors and windows so that Dorman can't leave. Sonny had followed him to the hospital, he thinks that he has planted the heroin in the hospital. Dorman goes to the morgue. He tells the attendant that he promised the family he would accompany a body from the GH morgue to the undertaker. The attendant goes to get some release forms signed and Pierce checks the drugs he stashed inside the body. He tells her that he killed her boyfriend Matt and that she better watch out. Emily surprises him and tries to physically attack him, yelling about how he murdered Matt. He throws her against a wall; she is dazed. She runs from the room, crying. She wanders around a while, ending up in an empty surgery room. Dorman waits in the morgue for the orderlies to return so that he can leave with the patient and the heroin. Emily runs into another room, finds a scalpel and takes it. Meanwhile Monica finds out that Dorman is at the morgue and that Emily is not in her room. While Dorman is waiting he is sings and talks to himself about all the dirty deeds he has done. Someone quietly enters the room and creeps up behind him. Pierce whirls around and faces his attacker. He has his usual, smarmy look at first then is surprised when he looks down, a trickle of blood oozing from between his lips, and sees a scalpel buried in his chest. Dorman falls backward, glassy-eyed.

Carly is in the hallway outside the morgue and notices bloods spots on the floor. Carly steps into the morgue and yodels "Hey guys, you left a mess out there." She spots Dr. Dorman lying dead on the floor. Jason steps behind her and places a hand over her mouth to stifle her screams. She calms when she hears his voice. Jason warns her to be careful not to touch anything. He gets some plastic gloves from a cabinet and searches Dorman's body, finding the plane tickets. Then he tells Carly to call the cops and leave a good strong print on the "911" numbers on the phone. Carly tells her that she will lie for him if he wants. She's prepared to lie through her teeth for him. "I used to say that Tony was the best thing to happen to me. Well, he doesn't want that title, so it belongs to you, whether you want it or not." Jason tells her just to say the truth (with a few minor ommissons) that she came in, found Dorman dead, and Jason already there.

When Taggert and Garcia arrive, they question Jason, who admits that he wanted to kill Dorman, but somebody beat him to it. "I came in, he was dead, she [Carly] came in."

Taggert: Do you know my friend Mr. Morgan? To know him is to love him.

Garcia: I brought him in a year ago for train surfing. (To Jason) You've come a long way since then. Sonny's taught you a lot.

Taggert (tsking), "These homicide cops...so intense."

In the GH parking garage, Monica is leading a zombie-like Emily to the car. Ned surprises them and when Em turns, Ned sees there are blood streaks on her hospital gown. Ned also sees that Monica holds a blood-stained scalpel in her hand. They get Em into the car. Monica informs him that Dorman is dead. "They're not going to find anything," she assures him. Ned tells her to give him the weapon and she takes the girl home while Ned stays behind.

Carly tells AJ about Dorman's murder, that Jason wanted him to know. AJ meets up with Carly again at the PCPD. He asks her to tell him what happened as he needs to tell the family. She is puzzled that he wants to tell the Quartermaines and goes into protective mode. AJ realizes she doesn't understand and he explains that Jason is his brother. She is startled by this information. Taggert murmurs to Jason, "This is not for posterity, you can deny it later if you want. But tell me, you killed Dorman, didn't you?" Taggert tries to be both the good cop and the bad cop but Jason maintains that he didn't do it. Jason admits that he wanted to kill Dorman, he was looking for Dorman in order to kill him. He agrees that yes, he has threatened to kill Dorman and in front of witnesses. But he did not kill Dorman and he does not know who did. Jason asks to make a phone call? Taggert, playing fast and loose with procedure, denies him his rights. Taggert is still nagging Jason that he had motive and opportunity so why doesn't he just turn over the weapon. Meanwhile, gloved hand is putting a bloody scapel with a green handle in the trunk of some car by the spare tire.

Sonny's hires Valentine to represent Jason in the matter of Dorman's murder. Valentine immediately weeds out that the PC PD has already ignored anything resembling anything to do with civil rights. Valentine is doing pretty well until he angers Jason by mentioning his mental capacity, or supposed lack of it. Jason stands up and gives the lawyer a nasty look, and has to be restrained while Taggert and the lawyer go off. Jason goes over the Dorman stuff with Sonny and tells him what he found at the scene: that Dorman's heart was nearly cut out, blood everywhere, but no murder weapon. He did find plane tickets to Chicago in Dorman's pocket. He defends his presence at the crime scene, saying he'd probably have been arrested anyway, but as there was no evidence anywhere linking him to the murder, he may as well give whoever did it 24 hours to cover their tracks. He's also well aware that his brain damage can be used for a legal argument.

Alan arrives at the PCPC and lays out his concerns for Jason's case. He tells him he wants to bring him back to the Q mansion, a idea Jason's not into but Sonny convinces him to go. Alan doesn't have much faith in Sonny's attorney and wants to use a family attorney such as Alexis or Justus. Alan convinces Jason that Emily needs to see him and he agrees to stop by when he is released. Alan offers to wait and give him a ride. Alan leaves to call and Monica and tell her Jason will come by. Jason shakes his head sadly and tells Sonny that he can't do what Robin wants (meaning having a relationship with the Q's). Taggert continues hassling Jason again. Sonny and Valentine press the detective to put up or shut up and release their suspect. The two cops confab, discussing their mutual quest for Sonny. Finally, Garcia orders Taggert to release Jason.

Mac and Alan come into the Quartermaine living room with Jason. Edward complains about Jason, but he wanted to see Emily. Alan finds out that Monica told Emily about Dorman's death, and he's sorry. Edward agrees, "There's nothing wrong with controlling information --- if you do it, do it competently." Alan goes to see Emily. Edward huffs at Jason: "Tell me you didn't knock off a liquor store on the way here!" Jason proves he's learned to stretch the literal truth "Nope. A bank." "Eh?" Edward harrumphs.

Mac and Monica and Alan talk as Jason overhears. Alan, "Whoever wiped out that bastard deserves a medal." Mac warns Alan to watch what he says. Alan gets mad and storms off. Jason and Monica talk about Emily. Then Mac warns Monica that the motel story will come out. Monica, in Em's room, tries to get her to eat. Emily is not hungry. Alan comes in. Emily is worried that Mac is there. They leave. Monica is worried that Mac is telling about Dorman. Emily spills jelly on her sleeve and flashes back to Monica's bloody sleeve. She heads to the door, but Jason is there. Jason asks if she's feeling better. She asks, "What makes a peron kill somebody?" She feels responsible. Dorman died on the same day Paige did. Jason leaves and Emily goes looking for the bloody blouse. She finds it in the hamper, and covers it up again and runs off.

Jason arrives at Carly's. They discuss his being AJ's brother and his being brain-damaged. She says she never noticed his brain being damaged. He says she is the only person in his life that didn't know. He kept waiting for her to realize but she never did. They exchange promises not to be angry over each others secrets. Jason wants to go over the murder scene again and Carly feels nauseous as he discusses it. He asks how long she has been feeling like this and she says about a week. He suggests that perhaps she is pregnant?

Jason tells Sonny that he found Jax in the morgue earlier. Brenda defends Jax, and Sonny orders Jason not to bother Jax as the cops will be around. The next day down on the docks, Jason is deep in thought, thinking about the promise he made to Robin about looking after the Qs. Sonny comes along and they talk. The cops are trying to pin Dorman's murder on Sonny and wanted Jason to corroborate them. Jason thinks that the Qs may be involved in the murder as they're all acting weird. He's especially concerned about Em, but he won't let Sonny hang, even if it's at the expense of the Qs. Sonny tells his friend to chill as the cops are spending so much energy on Sonny that the real murderer is likely to walk. At PCPD, Sonny, Jason, and Brenda arrived to have their hair samples taken. Brenda filched an evidence baggie while the Taggert was busy harrassing his favorite perps. Brenda placed her own hair sample into the baggie, then she talked Jason into creating a distraction. As Nurse Chase entered the scene, Jason used her presence to create a scene. Brenda switched Sonny's hair sample for her own.

It's the fourth annual Nurse's Ball. Mike, Sonny, Jason, Brenda and their entourage of bodyguards arrives. All of the ladies are backstage getting ready for their opening number which is set to a music montage. The show starts with Alan singing and the women doing a fashion show behind him. The women end up on steps behind Alan, forming a rainbow with their dress colors. Lucy welcomes everyone to the Nurse's Ball. Carly and Tony do a country western song and dance number. Taggart and Garcia are hot on their prime suspect's trail. They get a search warrant for Brenda's hotel room and her car (her hair sample was a match, so her plan backfired just a bit). In the car trunk, under the carpet, they find a bloody scalpel.

Jason sits down next to a sad and alone Carly. He asks what she is doing and she admits to hiding out. She asks if he would miss her if she left town. He says he would but doesn't think she will leave town, almost looking for assurance though she doesn't respond. Jason then runs into Karen out in the lobby. She asks if Robin is here? He says she can't make it this year as he looks at her rather puzzled. Karen turns towards Stone's banner which is on display and says that Jagger would love it. Her identity clicks and he says she is Karen. She apologizes as they way he was looking at her, she thought maybe he remembered her. She says Robin warned her that he wouldn't recognize her. He laughs that she is his ex-girlfirend and asks if they are made at each other. She assures him that no they were over all of that. Heads turn as they walk into together, like a blast from the past (the character just returned to town to join the PC cast).

Sonny and Brenda stare at Jason as he returns from his chat with Karen Wexler. Jason asks if he did something to upset them as they both got real quiet. Brenda says it was just odd to see him and Karen enter together again, like the "perfect couple" they once were as if the past four years never happened. But they did happen, Jason tells them. He doesn't even remember Karen, though she seems nice. Sonny agrees that she is nice. Next, Luke steps in at the last minute to dance the "Last Dance" with Bobbie. He poses a la Travolta then gets into his thang. Next, Edward and Emily perform with the Ward Street kids as the chorus. Note, the Ice Cream man is Amber's father, Russ.

Jason borrows Sonny's cell phone to call Robin and let her know how the ball is going. He steps into the hallway for more privacy and finds that she's there, gazing at Stone's AIDS panel. He says, "Your here!" She admits, "I had to be". They embrace.Lucy introduces Kat Bell to say a few words. Kat astounds one and all by walking onto the stage with the help of a cane (she was paralyzed after getting shot by Stefan on Spoon Island). Applause. She tells them that she knows that this night is not about her but she wanted to share a small miracle with them tonightso that they can all make a larger miracle happen, like defeating HIV. She then introduces "our own miracle, Robin Scorpio." Robin ascends. She looks really pretty ina a pale pink gown and her hair in a curly new do. She talks about the helplessness she felt when the boy she loved was dying, and then when she herself was diagnosed HIV+ All her dreams for the future died. "Every hope I had for the future was gone, Robin the wife, Robin the doctor, the mother, the grandmother, gone." But thanks to those assembled and others, she can fell hope again, she can see the future. (Jason rubs tears from his cheek.) She remembers those who did not make it, Stone and Jon Hanley and tells everyone they must commit to eradicating this disease.

Next, Ned and Dara sing "You've Got a Friend". Both are in excellent voice. During the number, the camera pans to squares on the quilt that are being used as back-drop. We see Mac have a flashback to the time he presented Stone's square to Robin, wrapping it around her. He's moist-eyed, too. Everybody at the tables joined in on the last chorus of the song, "You just call out my name/and you know wherever I am...you've got a friend..." Afterwards, Brenda and Karen meet in front of Stone's quilt panel. Karen wonders what it was like for Stone at the end. Brenda tells her it was terrible, but the way that Stone faced death was inspiring. Karen admits that Jagger still feels guilty, blaming himself for his brother's death, and it's made him single-minded as a cop pursuing drug-dealers. Brenda remarks that she's sure Karen and Jagger will get back together soon. Alone, Brenda "talks" to Stone. She tells him that she and Sonny are together again--she's sure he's smiling down at them. Taggart and Garcia arrive and they want Brenda to go with them to the PCPD.

Jason arrives to see Sonny, Brenda tells him Sonny is out walking. Brenda fills him in on getting picked up at the Nurses' Ball. She's not worried, of course, just disbelieving. Jason's sorry she had to go through this. Brenda complains, "I just can't believe this is happening to us right now, everything just started to be so good. It's not fair!" Sonny comes in and they talk about how beautiful Robin looked at the ball. As Jason leaves, Sonny takes him aside and tells him to keep an eye on everything. Sonny asks Jason to pick something up for him. When he returns, Sonny asks him to give the envelope to Brenda. It is a blueprint for her dreamhouse. Sarah and Em are surprised to see Jason at the mall, slurping a drink. Sarah compares Jason to her own older brother. When Sarah heads off to the bookstore, Jason checks on how Emily really is. She admits that it is hard being watched all of the time as her family is worried about her between her drug use and her meltdown. Jason promises her that if she ever needs anything, that she always has him for backup. She starts telling him about how hard the Dorman situation was for her. He stops her and tells her that she never has to explain anything to him, that he is there for her no matter what. She tells him he is the best big brother.

Jason arrives at the PCPD in answer to Sonny's page. A worried Sonny tells him about Brenda's being detained for questioning. When Sonny hears Brenda raise her voice, he rushes in to stop the questioning as she doesn't have an attorney present. Brenda privately tells Sonny that they are saying they found her clothes with Dorman's blood on it in the trash. She says it is impossible as she took that outfit to the cleaners so she is sure they are setting her up. Jason returns and says he made the call and "he's" on the way (meaning Mac). Jason and Sonny wait anxiously until Mac arrives wanting to know what is going on. As Brenda is led back in, Jason whispers to Mac to play along and he will explain later, that it is a matter of life and deaht and then he slugs him. In the confusion, Sonny tells Brenda to quickly get out. Jason tells Mac that he is sorry that he didn't mean to do that. Taggert and Garcia urge Mac to press charges against Jason, but he declines. After Jason quickly departs, they realize Brenda's gone and converge on Sonny who gives them a "who me?" look.

Outside, Jason stands by a window as Brenda climbs out. Unfortunately, as they scurry off, they run smack into a waiting Mac who doesn't look pleased. Brenda beseeches that they have planted evidence on Brenda for Dorman's murder. Mac believes her as he knows she didn't kill Dorman. Jason says they are setting Brenda up to get at Sonny. Mac allows them to go on. Inside all is chaos. Brenda and Jason arrive at the hide-out. He sets her up, lighting a candle and telling her there are more in the kitchen. He leaves, and a nervous Brenda wedges a chair under the doorknob. She lies down on the sofa wrapped in a blanket and stares at the flickering candle in a daze.

Sonny is under guard with two police officers stationed at his door. Jason and Sonny staged a medical crisis, Jason gave Sonny something to simulate a medical problem. Sonny complains his veins are on fire, Jason is sorry but says it will pass. Jason tells Sonny's bodyguard that there is a problem and he called 911 and tells the guard to go downstairs to wait for the ambulance. The cops aren't buying the premise and go in to see for themselves. Sonny is sweating, his pulse is racing and he is demonstrating real physical symptoms. The paramedics arrive to take Sonny to the hospital. Taggert and Garcia have been notified and they are waiting at GH. When the gurney is rolled in, they stop it and find Jason grinning up at them instead of Sonny! Jason was arrested and taken down to the PCPD.
