Just Jason #2  May 28 - September 12, 1996 - 8 hr original edit

#2A Jason and Robin continue their discussion at Jake's (from the end of Just Jason #1) as she tells him she loves having him in her life and she would miss him if he wasn't there. He tells her he trusts her as he can tell her things he can't tell anyone else and he would miss her as well. They come to an understanding and hug; Robin says her goodbyes and leaves. Carly immediately comes in and hugs Jason who seems a bit distant at first. Carly proceeds to tell him that her life is very complicated and if she runs into him outside of Jake's that she will pretend not to know him and needs him to do the same. He seems relieved by that and agrees. She informs him that she only wants to know him in the biblical sense and he will be her boy on the side. He is amused by this proposition and asks, "Is that like a side order of fries?" She says that he just isn't the main dish and asks if that is a problem for him? He says no, he is happy to comply. She asks if she told him she didn't want to see him again would he be happy to comply? He says no that he wouldn't like that.

Jason arrives at Sonny, he is very worried about Lily and sends him looking for her. Jason arrives at Luke's club looking for Lily, and Carly abruptly ignores him true to her word. Luke and Laura enter and stop by to talk to Jason. The show ends to a montage for the song "Nobody Lives Without Love" with the following couples: Tom and Felicia, Kevin and Lucy, Carly and Jason as they kiss under the street light, Luke and Laura, Jax and Brenda, Sonny and Lily.

The next night, Mike passed out bottles of champagne to every table and when people inquired where it came from, he was mysterious.  A beaming Sonny and Lilly finally got everyone's attention and he announced that his "beautiful wife" was pregnant. He said they were going to make Mike a grandfather.  Congratulations from everyone except that for a fleeting moment, Lois and Robin both had sick looks on their faces as they know what an impact the announcement would make on Brenda. Later that night, Sonny and Mike talked. Luke joined them and the three of them goofed around, doing guy stuff. Lily walks towards the car, glowing with joy. Mike, Luke, and Sonny are still joking around and Sonny looks at Lilly with real love in his eyes.

Lily gets into the car and inserts the key into the ignition, the car explodes and Sonny staggers backward from the force of the blast and we see red flames reflected off his white shirt.  He faces the camera and screams "NOOOOO!" Luke and Mike simultaneously grab Sonny, holding him back, but he breaks free and starts to run for the car, and then Jason runs up and pretty much slams him into the wall to prevent him from running toward the car, and then there is another explosion. They take him inside. Lois says, in this teeny tiny voice "Where's Lily?"

Jason leaves and arrives at the Scorpio's and tells Robin that Sonny needs her, he explains about the explosion causing Lily's death.  When they get there, Robin goes to Sonny immediately and he holds her and cries. He looks up at Jason and orders him to take Robin home and keep her there, and Mac follows her and tells her to stay if you want but keep out of Sonny's sight and let him think he's done some good. Jason is at Robin's house and she is upset, suddenly gets Sonny's house key out of her purse, and Jason tells her no, she can't go over there.

She reminds him about that night on the bridge when she felt so sad and desperate and she is worried about what Sonny might do that she can't leave him alone. She tells Jason that Stone was like a brother to Sonny and asks how much can Sonny lose? She tells him that Lily was pregnant and now he has lost Brenda, Lily, and the baby. Jason pulls an envelope out of his jacket and says he will go to Sonny's. He has a reason to show up as he was supposed to deliver this envelope to Sonny but in all the confusion he forgot to do that. She gives him the house key and makes him promise not to leave Sonny alone, no matter what he does or says.

Jason goes over to Sonny's and lets himself in. He finds Sonny sitting in the apartment, and Sonny stares at him and says "Why the HELL do you have a key to my house?" and asks him why isn't he with Robin? Jason says that Robin gave him the key and told him to come over. Sonny says, "Is that the way you obey an order?" and gets angry. Jason responds that he had this envelope to deliver and Sonny takes it from him and says that they were going to Puerto Rico the next day and these are their plane tickets and gets choked up again.

Jason sits down then, and Sonny asks what he's doing? Jason says that yes, Sonny had ordered him to stay with Robin, but Robin said for him to come over and stay with Sonny, and this is just a job and Robin's worth more than that. Sonny yells, "I don't give a DAMN WHAT ROBIN SAID!" Jason says, "Well, all you can do is fire me."  Sonny whispers menacingly, "You think that's the most I can do to you?" and then he yells it. Jason says, "I don't need anything, I'll just be here". As Sonny goes up to bed, Jason says softly, "It's not your fault." Sonny pauses halfway up the stairs and begins to cry again.

The next morning, Sonny is pensively looking at the news headline in his apartment “Wife of Crime-Lord Slain”.  While Jason is sleeping on the couch Sonny removes a gun from a silver attaché case, holds it for a second, and then returns it and closes the case.  As he is about to leave Jason asks what is he is doing? Sonny tells him that he has to make a business trip and Jason tells him, “Not without me”.   Sonny is tries to convince him that he appreciates the offer but no thanks.  Jason lets Sonny know it was not an offer but a statement.  Sonny again tries to convince him that this is no place for him, this will be dangerous, and it’s none of his concern.

Jason quickly reminds him of the promise he made Robin and that Sonny isn’t going to change his mind. Sonny warns Jason that he could get hurt. Jason retorts, that, "You have to die sometime." Sonny comments, "Some people die too soon...then others live to long." Jason assures him that he isn't afraid, Sonny snarks that he should be! Sonny removes a gun from the case and hands it to Jason who picks it up and says “Just point and shoot”.  Sonny snaps Jason’s hand down and says you never point until you are ready to kill.  They put the gun back and leave.

Mac calls Robin from the hospital to ask if she has heard from Sonny or Jason.  When Robin says no Mac asks her to meet him at Sonny’s apartment. Mac and Robin search the house but no Sonny and Jason.  Robin is worried that Sonny did something foolish to himself. Sonny and Jason arrive in San Juan to see Rivera, they receive condolences about Lily and state that they have asked around but don’t know who did this.  Sonny goes in to see Rivera and they both stare at each other. Mac tells Robin that Sonny has gone to Puerto Rico. Robin doesn’t understand when Mac tells her “I guess he is going to avenge Lily’s death” when Robin says, “Do you mean this man killed his own daughter?”

Sonny talks to the doctor about Rivera’s condition.  He tells him that Rivera had a stroke when he heard about Lily’s death and he is paralyzed except for movement in his right hand and leg, he can’t speak, but he is sure he understands what is going on around him.  He gives his condolences and leaves.  Sonny looks at him and tells Rivera, “You don’t deserve to live.”  He takes out his gun....long pause.  He tells Rivera that he knows the bomb was meant for him and how Rivera must have thought that Lily was on her way down here, miles from PC.  How he not only killed his own daughter but his grandchild as well.

Sonny continues, "That’s right, Lily was coming down to tell him that she was pregnant and they were going to stay together and that she was so happy, happier than Sonny has ever seen her, that she wanted to share her joy.  She wanted to see the look on her own fathers face when she told him he will be a grandfather." Sonny tells him that he came their to kill him, not just for the death of his wife but his child too, but he can see that Rivera is living in his own hell now.  He will give R the choice that he didn’t give Sonny. He puts the gun down by Rivera’s right hand and leaves.

As Sonny walks out of the room we hear a gun shot.  One of the guards runs in, and he comes out and reports that Rivera is dead.  There is a long pause and some looks between Sonny and the guards then one of the guards takes Sonny’s hand and kisses it and the other follows.  Sonny and Jason arrive at the penthouse.  Sonny wanders pensively around the living room until the doorbell rings.  It's Mac, and he's in concerned-commish mode.  Sonny has a lot of power now that Rivera is dead.  Sonny insists, "Nobody has any power over anything, not anything that counts."  Mac tells Sonny to keep what he does "out of my territory", and to keep Jason out of it too.  Jason is "a clean slate" and the Q's aren't going to sit still while Sonny corrupts him.

Sonny argues that it's Jason's decision, not theirs, but he does not object to the suggestion that contact with him would corrupt Jason. Mac's real worry is the possible effect on Robin, as he doesn't want to see her suffer another loss and danger surrounds Sonny. Mac asks how can Sonny protect Jason?  "The way I protected my wife?" Sonny asks.  Ouch. Just then Jason comes into the room, and Mac trots out his arguments again with just as little success.  Sonny urges Jason to listen to Mac, but Jason isn't buying it.   Mac tries to use Robin to get Jason to change his mind.  He finally gives up, saying, "God help you both", and leaves.

Sonny warns Jason that the dangers are real in his business and a person can get killed.  Jason doesn't see why dying is a big deal. Robin arrives and asks Jason what happened in Puerto Rico; he says he doesn't really know.  Jason mentions Mac's advice to him.  Robin wonders when Mac will ever learn, and assures Jason that Mac's attitude will not influence her.  She will worry about Jason, but the decision is his.  She is glad that Jason is there for Sonny. After Robin leaves, Sonny asks Jason to reconsider working for him.  Sonny appreciates his loyalty, but he sees that Jason, unlike Sonny, has something to live for.  Jason argues that he wants to stay.  He isn't looking for Sonny to protect him; he just wants a chance.  Sonny says, fine.  He gives him a gun and sends him to a firing range to learn how to use it.  Jason holds the gun, looking a bit shell-shocked already.

Sonny grieves over Lily's grave. As Jason and Robin say their goodbyes, Robin reminds Sonny that she loves him. Robin tells Jason how good Lily was when Stone was sick. He says he liked her and will miss her. She tells him he can always keep a part of her in his heart. Back home, Sonny is looking at the picture of Lily and he hears the lullaby she used to play. Jason comes in with food and Sonny wants him to get rid of the piano. Jason makes small talk about the coffee pot.  He tells a little about himself when people kept poking at him, and he leaves. Robin bops into Kelly's and dashes behind the counter to get some food.  Carly takes her plate away from her.  "Look, Missy, I happen to live here, and I've never seen a help yourself sign."  Robin is offended.

Then Mac comes over and introduces Robin to Carly, to Carly's chagrin. Robin goes to the boxcar to see Jason and hears shots as Jason is practicing. He says he's real good on the "safety stuff" and wants to know if he did this before.  No, she says, she doesn't think the Quartermaines have a shooting range. He thinks it's nice that Robin worries about him. They talk about Sonny a little bit. Jason tells her that he doesn't eat, he doesn't sleep, and Robin realizes she has stayed away too long and Robin leaves to go see Sonny.

Sonny can't stand it any more, and throws the piano bench, hurting his hand.  Then he picks up a poker and starts in on the piano. He's well and truly into it when Robin comes running in.  At first Sonny looks like she's next for the poker, but then he sits and lets Robin fix his hand.  "They're just things.  I know they have memories attached to them but then that goes away and they're just things again."  Robin echoes back the good advice Sonny gave her when Stone died.

Jason comes into Jake's. Carly is there, and she attempts the Mae West "is that a gun, or are you happy to see me?" She really wonders if Jason is a policeman. He asks if she is a suspect? He plays along, maybe so, maybe not. She's intrigued, as he suggestively asks if he should lock her up? Jake comes and takes the plate, calling "Morgan" by name, so Carly knows a little more. They go upstairs.

At Sonny's penthouse, Jason answers a ring at the door. It's Lois who has come to pay her respects.  Jason is reluctant to let her in but Lois gets by him.  She sits with Sonny on the couch, where he is holding his head in his hands.  After some painfully polite conversation Sonny asks her to leave. Then he and Jason talk about survival. Jason shows up at the gatehouse. Ned apologizes to him for trying to shield his parents from the truth that their oldest son caused the brain damage to their youngest son. Jason accepts the apology; he and Ned shake hands while Lois beams at them from the staircase.

Two men in suits arrive asking for Mr. Michael Corinthos, Jr. Jason slowly takes his gun from the back of his pants as Sonny watches. Jason has the two men up against the wall as they protest.  When they ask who the hell he is Sonny comes out and asks who the hell they are.  They tell him their attorneys for Rivera and that since he was Lily’s sole heir that they have a check for him.  Sonny tells them he doesn’t want it and they inform him that they are here to deliver it he can do whatever he wants with it and they leave.  Sonny throws the envelope on the ground and Jason asks if he wants to open it.  Sonny says not but feel to open it if you want Jason says it’s a check for $30 million.  Sonny asks him if he wants it. Jason says “This is Lily’s inheritance...I can’t believe you wouldn’t want you to have it”.  Sonny asks him what difference will it make and walks upstairs and Jason looks perplexed.

Jason meets Robin and tells her that he thinks that Sonny is doing better and that maybe they can go out tonight? Robin says that she has to work on her speech for the Ball.  Jason can’t understand why she would want to do it and Robin tries to explain that if one person could benefit from her experience it would be worth it. She tempts that it really is fun and maybe Jason will even go, she doesn’t think they’d throw him out. Sonny is back in the penthouse looking at the painting of Lily. Jason asks if he wants to throw it out but he says to hang it on the wall to remind him every day of what he’s done. At the park, Jason and Robin talk about the upcoming ball.  Jason doesn't see why Sonny is going to the Nurses' Ball or why Robin is speaking? He says that with it being so painful for them that he doesn't think Stone would want that. She tries to explain that getting a cure would make them less sad.

Alan begins the festivities singing about the beautiful women, played to a montage of everyone arriving for the ball dressed to kill. Carly (filling in for the injured Bobbie), Tony, and Lucas perform a Vaudevillian rendition of "Together Wherever We Go." Lucy comes out and sadly announces that Jon Hanley (Lee Mathis) died that afternoon of AIDS related complications. She introduces singer Janis Ian who sings a sad lament, "When Angels Cry" and while we see images of Robin, Stone, and other GH people dabbing the tears from their eyes. Mac talks briefly and warmly about Stone, then presents Robin with a section of quilt in Stone's honor, touchingly wrapping it around her. Robin, the keynote speaker, delivers a very emotional and impassioned plea for compassion and understanding for the victims of HIV.  As she talks about Stone and what he lost, emotion overcomes her and she seems to freeze, Jason comes to the stage from the back of the room and picks her up and carries her out.

Carly looks on surprised and obviously disturbed at seeing Jason and Robin so close, possibly due to her sexual relationship with him and Robin's HIV positive status. The ball ends as Keesha, Simone, Carly, Audrey "She Got Legs" Hardy, and others do a chorus line number.  Meanwhile, things start to degenerate into slapstick as Katherine turns out Lucy's dressing room lights and sprays her with hairspray to avoid her seeing that Katy had Lucy's dress on.  As Lucy stumbles around, her foot gets caught in a stage rope, and somehow she is hauled upside down, dress falling over her head, and swung over the stage to her intense humiliation and the audience's delight.

Robin and Jason are at the bridge in the dark, and she has Stone's quilt square still wrapped around her. She feels embarrassed about losing it during her speech and thinks she blew it. Jason tells her it was great, and she responds with how pathetic it was. He asks her about who Jon Hanley was? She tells him how powerful his speech was and how he touched people in such a way that changed behavior. Jason talks about how love, saying, "I almost wish I remember how it felt." She tells him how when he found out Stone had AIDS that Jason asked Stone to be his workout partner and it meant a lot to Stone that he wasn't afraid to be around him.

They talk about how she knew Jason would be there for her and then she tells him that she dreams about the two of them being lovers and there is no one else she wants to be with but just can't because of these feelings she still has for Stone. He understands and tells her that what she gives him is enough. He tells her before her that he felt like he was stumbling around in the dark and it was light she turned on the lights for him and helped him figure things out. When she returns home, Mac apologizes to Robin for giving her the quilt square in public, but she is fine with it and says she will not accept his apology but is grateful that he did it.

Jason arrives at Jake's and Carly pouts and watches him cross the room. Mike compliments Jason on taking care of Robin and leaves. Carly comes to him and confronts him about the fact that she went to the Nurse's Ball and saw him carry Robin off the stage after her speech. Jason's response: "Yeah?"  She gets angry and calls him some names, tries to slap him right there in the bar, says that if he is sleeping with someone with HIV, he should tell her about it. She asks if he is having sex with anyone BESIDES Robin, and he says "I don't sleep with her" but they are close. She says it is interesting that he sleeps with the woman he doesn't really know, and doesn't sleep with the woman he does know. He asks what this is all about, since she set up the deal where they would just have sex and not tell each other anything about themselves. He indicates that he'd like to go up and have sex, and she laughs and follows him upstairs.

The next morning, Jason wakes up to see Carly standing at the window and he asks her to come back to bed. Jason later decides to take a shower as Carly decides to go through his belongings.  Jason catches her.  Asks what she's doing--we had an agreement--you helped set up the agreement.  Carly tries to calm him down and he tells her, "Don't touch me" Carly says its not like I can't find out who the guy who carried Robin off the stage is and he gets mad at her continued curiosity about him. He tells her that she can leave when she wants and he leaves.

Robin is talking to Sonny at Luke's.  They talk about how great Mac is, the ball, and how great Sonny's contribution was. Robin says that it was $30 million and you say its just money--I don't even know how to make you understand how big that is." She marvels that people with AIDS will be able to get treatment at the Stone Cates Memorial Center established with the $30 million Sonny donated, his inheritance from Rivera. Sonny and Robin discuss Jason and his feeling for Robin.  Robin asks if Sonny's okay and he says he's not looking for a nursemaid. As Sonny leaves, Mike tells Robin how her speech was inspiring and it touched his heart and Lucy touched his funny bone.

Jason is at Luke’s with Sonny.  As they talk Mike walks over and tells Sonny how proud he is of him.  Sonny gives Jason a package to deliver and as Jason leaves Alan sees him. Alan wants to know if Jason is working for Sonny? He accuses Sonny of taking advantage of Jason and Alan threatens Sonny if he doesn't leave Jason alone.  Sonny tells him to get a grip, as he doesn't scare him and "in case you have forgotten my wife just died--if you have a beef take it up with Jason".  Lucy enters and tells Sonny that he is her hero. Alan runs into Jason and suggests he could do something better, something he would be proud of. Jason retorts that he already is, by Jason's definition and that’s all that counts!

Carly sees Robin at the hospital and they start talking.  Carly tells her how moving her speech was. Carly starts grilling Robin about Jason, Robin admits Jason is kind of her boyfriend. She raves how trustworthy he is, that he always tells the truth. Carly continues to ask questions, "How did Robin meet him?" Robin gently tells her that they respect each other's privacy and says she has to go.

Robin and Jason run into Mac and Katherine, they are getting ready to leave town. Mac jokes that he would ask Jason how his new job is going, but then Jason might tell him and he would have to arrest him. Jason laughs and tells Mac he is funny while Robin rolls her eyes at Mac's attempt at humor. After Mac leaves, Robin assures him that she knows Mac likes Jason. He warns her that sooner or later with his involvement in Sonny's business that things will happen that Mac won't like. She snarks that it is none of Mac's business (well except for the fact that he is the police commissioner). Jason wished he could remember loving someone the way Robin loved Stone.

Later at Jake's, Carly apologizes for trying to pry into his life. She wants to have more than just a sexual relationship with him but when he declines further involvement she suggests they go upstairs and do what they do best. She gets up from the table and saunters toward the stairs; he gets up and fishes in his jeans for some money to pay for his beer. He's just turning to follow her out of the room when Robin enters the joint. He forgets Carly and turns all his attention to Robin as Carly watches them from the doorway.

Jason arrives at the Outback and delivers an envelope to Sonny.  It is a letter from the representative of "the Kansas City Group".  They want to take over one of Sonny's transportation networks.  Sonny figures they believe now to be a good time to take over, due to Lily's recent death and its likely effect on Sonny's concentration. Sonny agrees to meet the K.C. guys at the Outback. The guys arrive and they meet outside the Outback.  They want a partnership in his Northeastern delivery network.  Sonny says he's not interested.  The K.C. guy reaches into his pocket to pull out a "gift" from his boss but before he gets a chance, Jason pulls a gun on him.  Sonny orders Jason to put the gun away, but first Jason grabs the man's own gun.  The K.C. guy pulls cigars out of his pocket and offers them. Sonny refuses the cigars and the merger and ends the meeting.

Later, Sonny berates Jason for going for his gun. Jason correctly points out that if he had waited to see what was going to happen, it might have been too late to protect Sonny. Sonny worries about what will happen next. The K.C. boys have a bit too much information about things they shouldn't know, and he wonders where they are getting it. Later, Harry asks the K.C. guy how Sonny looked but the guy doesn't understand what he's getting at.  Harry says he knows how to get Sonny where they need him to be when they need him to be there, which will assure Harry the money to retire.  Harry insists that the K.C. guy must never tell Sonny that Harry is involved.

Carly and Jason are in bed and Carly kisses Jason, "Thank you for the fireworks."  She's upset that he never asks her to stay, and he points out they were her rules.  There's a knock at the door, it's Robin.  Carly hides. Robin invites him to go to the Fourth of July picnic with him. He says it doesn't sound like his thing and promises her they will go to the ocean tomorrow.  After she leaves, Carly comes out laughing, but Jason tells her to shut up about Robin.  She asks "Are you antisocial or did someone drop you on your head?"

Robin arrives at the picnic and joins Kevin & Lucy and Mac & Katherine. Carly soon stops by and asks where Jason is? Carly takes off and catches a cute guy's volleyball.  Then she catches sight of Jason, who has just come in.  Both she and Robin greet him at the same time.  Robin asks if they know each other, and Jason starts with "I guess..." but Carly says no, she just had seen him at the Nurses' Ball. Jason asks Robin if she and Carly are friends. Jason and Robin are sitting together.  Behind them, Carly flirts the new guy.

After Robin walks away, Jason drags Carly over and wants to know what she is doing? She thinks he is jealous that she is flirting with someone else. He doesn't care about that, he doesn't want her talking to Robin! Carly is annoyed that once again this is about Robin and she is jealous that Robin fits in so well with everyone. Carly warns Jason that Robin doesn't know him at all, that Carly knows the other side of Jason. He warns her very sternly not to ever hurt Robin and walks away. Robin brings Jason ice cream; they decide to leave before the Quartermaines come. Carly is left alone, all alone as the fireworks start.  We see couples: AJ and Keesha, Tom and Felicia,  Mac and Katherine, Kevin and Lucy, Carly all alone, huddled in a blanket, while Jason and Robin are on the bridge.

Sonny and Jason are in The Grille. Sonny tells Jason that he is planning to set up a deal with the guys from Kansas City. Sonny's going to give them his route and a contact list in exchange for a large sum of money; of course not all of his contacts will be listed. By letting the Kansas City guys use his route, Sonny figures he can trap them and find out how has been leaking the information.  Jason wants to be in on the deal, but Sonny's not too sure as he thinks Jason is too hotheaded to pull it off. Jason swears that he'll keep his cool and prove himself to Sonny, it seems very important to do so. Sonny warns him to only do what is necessary to get the job done, nothing else.

Cute scene as Jason walks through the hotel and sees Brenda's photo shoot for Jax cosmetics and wonders what's going on? Lucy flirts with him and asks if he'd like to be in the shoot? He declines saying he has business to attend to and he doesn't even know who she is? Lucy introduces herself.  As he leaves, she tells him that maybe she'll call him about another shoot.

Jason arrives at the docks to make the exchange and hears the KC guys talking. He hides and listens to what they are saying. They are talking about how they are going to mess with Sonny and how Sonny has lost his focus since Lily died.  They think that there scam will pay off with lots of cash. Jason attempts to leave quietly, but stumbles making a loud noise.  With their guns drawn, the KC guys order Jason to make himself visible. Jason offers the information in exchange for the money, but the KC guys wonder how much Jason heard.  At that point, Jason pushes the guys into each other and takes off.

Jason stops at a payphone outside of Kelly's and tries to call Sonny.  As he is on the phone and can't get through, he sees the guys just as Carly conveniently walks out of Kelly's. Jason pushes her against the wall and kisses her suddenly to avoid detection. He tells her he needs a place to hide, and she is intrigued. She takes him upstairs and lets him use the phone and asks a lot of questions. Sonny tells him to wait ten minutes and he will set up a deal. Jason offers to leave if Carly is scared, and she says, "Who says I'm scared?" She says hiding out is one of her specialties, and they have a lot in common, reinventing themselves. She tells him what she knows about him, his name, his room, his bed, and his job and that he would drop her 'in a hot minute' for Robin Scorpio. He asks if that makes her mad. She asks him what he would feel if she did that to him. He said he'd be mad but he'd get over it. Carly says, "I've been known to stay mad for over 20 years." (Obviously about Bobbie putting her up for adoption.)

Jason calls Sonny, who tells him to bring the money and the envelope to the docks. Once there, the two mob dudes try to spook him. He plays along begging them not to shoot him as Sonny steps out of the shadows armed with a gun and some fun dialogue. He dares the guys to shoot Jason and tells Jason to give them the envelope they came for. They sneer that it is phony, and Sonny says "well, guess what, deal's off. If my boy has it, it must be mine. Goodbye." The other guys gripe about the money and Sonny says, "Consider this an expensive lesson well learned."

They leave, and Jason asks how Sonny knew they wouldn't shoot him. Sonny compliments him on diverting the guy's attention earlier by acting scared, but says he used bad judgment or it would not have happened at all. Sonny tells him that if he had been able to pass off the phony list, he would have learned who his leak was. Jason tells him that there is someone leaking it and the guys were talking about it. Sonny says, "Until I find out, everyone's a suspect." He returns to Carly's and tells her it is over with and thanks her for her help, she helped him a lot and he appreciates it. She says this is the most they have ever said with their clothes on. He suggests they can change that as he grabs her and starts kissing her and takes her down to the bed. She says he is awfully sure of himself, but he points out that he knows what she likes!

Carly stops off to visit Jason. She tells him she needs a friend and asks him to hold her. He listens as she explains that she wanted to celebrate getting into the nursing program, but due to Steve Hardy's death, she has no one to celebrate with.  It's been this way all her life there is always something or someone more important than she is. Jason, recognizing what she needs, offers his congratulations. Jason goes out later and finds Robin on the bridge.  He gives her a big hug, which helps her.

They talk about death and loss, and specifically about Dr. Hardy.  Then she asks about what happened to Jason earlier? Sonny called her while Jason was missing but he insists that he's okay. Robin is glad he's safe as he is important to her.  Robin remarks that tomorrow's memorial service will be sad, but at least she can see Jason afterwards. He asks about Mac; Robin explains that he is out of town. Jason offers to go with Robin, in spite of the fact that his family will be there.  She insists that he doesn't need to go, but he tells her he is going, and he's doing it for her.

Robin is standing outside the chapel, having a flashback of Stone and Kevin and Steve, when Steve assured Stone that he would still get the best care despite his HIV+ status. He assures Stone that the hospital staff are not at risk by treating Stone and he has nothing to worry about. Jason comes for her.  She tells him if he left her she'd fall on the floor and cry to the middle of next week.  Monica comes by and says hello to Jason.  He says, "I guess this doctor guy was important to a lot of people."  When Monica agrees, he says, "Then I'm real sorry."  They go in.

Alan speaks to Monica about seeing Jason, and she says, "Oh my God, I miss my son!"  AJ and Keesha come in and speak to Jason and Robin. Carly sees Jason and Robin together. (Note: I did not include the entire memorial scenes on this edit but if anyone would like to see that episode I do have it on the GH Memorial edit). A montage of Steve flashbacks to Jimmy Durante singing, "Make Someone Happy."  It finishes with the ending to the 30th anniversary show, with Steve walking out of the hospital onto the GH set, and away.

Miss Jacobs, the accountant, tells Sonny that the IRS is going to be watching him very closely and he needs to be involved in legitimate businesses to show a source for his income. She has made some inquiries but Sonny guesses that no one wants him involved with them. She tells him that the IRS could seize all of his assets and send him to jail. Jason is concerned and Sonny tries to tell him there is no future for him in working for Sonny. Sonny tells him about Stone getting shot, about Brenda getting shot at in her own shower, about Lily dying. Jason points out that Stone died of AIDS not because of Sonny and that Lily died because of her father. Jason feels like he owes Sonny, Sonny tells him he already paid him back by sitting by him through the darkest nights of his life. Sonny fires Jason, which does no good, as Jason tells him he will stick around anyway. Jason isn't worried about going to prison, Sonny tells him he would kill himself before he would ever do time.

Sonny is sitting at one of the tables outside The Outback having a drink and Robin comes out to see him.  Robin comments that he's becoming a regular though Sonny jokes not when Mac is around. She asks if Jason is coming?  Sonny tells her Jason had some business to take care of, further adding that it isn't his business that Ned asked to see him.  Sonny tells Robin that he told Jason to find another job because he thinks there might be trouble with the Feds soon.  He doesn't want to involve Jason if that happens.  Robin is concerned about Sonny and wonders if he'll go to prison?  Sonny assures her that he isn't going to prison. Jason arrives at the gatehouse to see Ned.  Ned tells him about the stock he has in ELQ, 12% in total sitting in trust. Jason says he doesn't want any part of the Quartermaine's. Ned tells him that's not the point.  The point is that the stock is yours, but Edward controls the trust.  Ned tells him that he believes Edward is going to attempt to remove him as CEO.

Jason still doesn't understand where the discussion is going. Ned explains that Jason can petition to break the trust, Ned as CEO can approve it, and then the shares become Jason's to vote or sell as he chooses.  All Ned asks in return is that Jason vote with him. Jason questions Ned about dividends, taxes, the IRS trying to understand the entire situation.  Jason agrees to the deal, and Ned gives him the information.  They both take pleasure in the fact that Edward is going to hate this. Lois comes in, and has Jason feel her pregnant tummy.

Robin and Sonny continue their discussion about Jason working for Sonny.  Sonny asks her to convince Jason to walk away, but she says she tried before with no luck.  Mike arrives and wants to sit with Sonny.  Sonny doesn't seem to care and Robin excuses herself to go back to work.  Mike noticed that Robin looked upset and asks Sonny what's going on.  Sonny tells him that she's worried about Jason.  When Mike asks if she should be, Sonny replies, "He works for me.  What do you think?"  Sonny goes on saying he's a gangster and in that life there are substantial risks and when you fall, you fall hard.  "Sooner or later" he says, "everybody pays."

Jason arrives at The Outback and greets Robin.  Once again Robin tries to convince him to leave Sonny before he's arrested.  He tells her she doesn't have to worry about it, he's found another way out.  It's complicated but it's going to work.  He has to go explain it to Sonny, and he asks Robin to trust him. Jason asks to see Sonny outside. Jason tells Sonny about his plan to sell Sonny his shares of ELQ stock.  Sonny asks if Jason knows how much 12% of ELQ stock is worth, and Jason replies "$60 million."  However, Jason can sell the stock for whatever he wants.  Sonny tells him he's got $4 million and Jason says, "It's perfect."  Sonny tells him that he can't do it; he can't take away his inheritance.  Jason says that he doesn't want the stock.  Sonny is his friend, and he's not going to let him die.  Sonny continues to turn down Jason's offer of stock.  Jason asks him once again to accept his offer.

Carly runs into Jason and Robin at GH. Robin is looking for Alan as he asked her to come in and helpful Carly offers to page him. While Robin is at her appointment, Carly approaches Jason and asks if Robin is sick or something? He retorts, "Don't they pay you to do something around her?" She snarks back, "What are you afraid Robin is going to find out who is changing your oil on a regular basis? Why does she always come first?" He tells her that was decided before he ever met Carly. She resents that he sleeps with her but Robin gets the roses. He reminds her that she set up the rules. He tells her he does like her. She observes that if her and Robin both fainted at the same time that he would drive over her limp body to bring Robin smelling salts.

He points out that is because she wouldn't faint, she would be faking! (obviously he does know Carly). She asks him if it would surprise him to know there is a man who is into her and she is Robin to him, that there is a head nurse who thinks he belongs to her but he is all about Carly and she doesn't know (talking about Bobbie and Tony). Later, a happy Robin comes out and tells Jason that her viral load is still undetectable. She is just one of the lucky ones. He remarks that if Alan is a good doctor and takes care of her then he guesses he does need her for something. Later, Jason tells her that he has to go, as he has to be at the Quartermaines. She is very surprised and is curious what is going on. He says he will tell her later, and they kiss before he takes off.

#2B  The Quartermaine family has gathered for an ELQ Board Meeting. Edward begins by telling everyone that Ned hasn't been giving ELQ his best effort because he splits his time doing rock n' roll.  He also says that because Ned is going to have the added responsibilities of being a new father, he doesn't think Ned can cut the mustard anymore. So Edward proposes that they replace Ned as CEO with Justus.  Edward wants to vote on his proposal immediately but Ned says, "Just hold on a minute, old man!" Jason comes in, accompanied by Sonny. Jason tells Ned that he sold his 12% of ELQ stock to Sonny; Ned is angry and accuses Sonny of taking advantage of Jason. Jason said that a condition of the sale was that Sonny will ALWAYS vote his shares the way Ned wants.

Ned walks in with Sonny and introduces him as the newest board member. Edward tries to toss Sonny out of the house and calls him a career criminal. Ned fills Edward in on how Jason got a hold of the shares. Edward is popping mad about having not only Jax but also Sonny on the board. He also calls Jason mentally defective, Sonny a crime lord, and ends up blaming Ned for everything. Then Edward calls for Ned's complete removal as CEO; Justus and Lois object, as does Lila.  She tells Edward he'll never swing it; he disagrees because he's voting Tracy's shares, too. After a short break to make up their minds, Lila calls for the vote. A vote of yes will keep Ned as CEO; a vote of no will put Edward in as CEO. Here's the breakdown:

Lila - YES (keep Ned)     A.J. - NO (dump Ned)

Sonny - YES     Edward - NO

Jax - YES       Alan - NO

Ned - YES       Monica - NO

So, the score is all tied up.  Edward smirks and says he's going to vote Tracy's shares and as soon as he does, Ned will be OUT.  A voice from the doorway shouts "Not so fast! Drop that proxy and say hello to the real thing!"  All eyes turn to see Tracy Quartermaine stride into the room.  She's BACK! As Lois talks, Tracy snarks that it is obvious that English is not her first language. Tracy votes to keep Ned in! Jax changes his vote to No! Ned is ousted; Jason apologizes to Ned and Lois, as he is concerned this is his fault. On his way out, Alan attacks Jason for signing over his shares to Sonny. He points out that if either one of them changed their vote that Ned would get his job back. Sonny comes back in and he tries to reassure Alan that he and Jason look out for each other. Alan cruelly jabs, "The way you looked out for Lily? No, that doesn't help!"

After Sonny leaves, Jason accuses Alan of being a coward. He tells him that if he has a problem with how Jason lives his life to take it up with Jason and leave Sonny alone. Alan believes that Sonny stole Jason's inheritance and Sonny is a gangster! Jason doesn't want the ELQ money, he says he is not Alan's son and he is happy with his life. Alan tries to get through to Jason that his life with Sonny is dangerous. Jason doesn't care, its what he has chosen. Alan pleads that Sonny is a criminal, Jason points out, "Then so am I!" Jason warns him to leave Sonny alone, and reminds him that he knows things!

Jason and Robin find Sonny down on the docks. He is full of remorse over Lily's death, Alan's words bringing it all back. Jason tells Sonny that Sonny doesn't talk down to him. Jason knows that the Quartermaine's want Jason but their son is dead. Sonny wants to know what happened after he left? Jason reports that they feel Sonny is using him, he says screw them and he will never make Jason go back to that house. Robin tells Sonny that she loves him and asks him not to ever forget that. Sonny tells Robin that Jason made him a legitimate businessman when he sold him his ELQ stock.

They laughed about the Quartermaine reaction. Robin laughs that they are proud of themselves. Sonny observes that any day you beat the Q's is a good day. The scenes end with a music montage, Alan and Monica sad over the loss of their son, Edward pours a drink and sits quietly, Luke, Laura, Cassidines, Robin and Jason and Sonny down at the docks, Tracy arrives at Jax's and kisses him!

Robin and Jason walk down by the docks and they talk again about the Quartermaines and how eager Jason is to get them off of his back. He says it was very weird to watch them in action. He says  if he didn't know better he would swear that Edward had been in the same kind of accident, as he also has know feelings. Robin challenges Jason's implication that he has no feelings.  But Jason doesn't understand the point of feelings, after watching the Q's tear each other apart.  He is especially upset to have seen Alan again. Robin defends Alan even though she agrees that what Alan said to Sonny was wrong. She tells Jason of Alan's kindness to Stone and to her. She draws parallels to her troubles with Mac regarding Stone, to explain that when you are afraid for someone you love, it can make you behave badly.  As long as Alan keeps worrying, Jason and Alan are going to be at odds with each other, she concludes, and he says he understands.

Robin explains that after Stone died, for a time she didn't want to feel anything.  But one day, she saw some kids in the park, and one of them called another "Butt-nose."  It started her laughing, and it opened up something inside her.  After that, he let herself feel again.  Jason can deny it, but some of the same things are happening to him.  Jason knows he feels anger; Robin points out that he feels affection too for Sonny, for her, usually for Ned. But Jason says he won't be "cure" till he laughs.  Robin tries a couple of light bulb jokes, but they don't work.  Robin assures him that one day he will laugh and she hopes she'll be there for it, and he threatens to hold off just to keep her around.  She assures him he won't be able to, and they head off to Robin's house while Jason wonders why a kangaroo would want to screw in a light bulb.

Robin is hanging out at the docks.  Jason arrives, apologizing for being late, but the meeting with the lawyers took time.  He tells her about the $3 million that he received from Sonny for his ELQ stock (the stock is actually worth $60 million).  She says he sounds like a Quartermaine. He is not amused and tells her more about the board meeting.  He's grateful to Sonny, and they talk a few moments about Sonny.

Robin and Jason arrive at The Outback, Robin tries to talk both Sonny and Jason into coming inside to hear Ned sing.  They both decline saying they have to work, but Robin tells them that since she's going off to college soon, this may be their last chance to spend time together.  "You need to get out more," she tells Sonny, and "You need to learn to be in the same room as the Quartermaine's," she tells Jason.

As an added incentive, she tells Sonny that she wants to dance with him.  Eventually, they both agree and the three of them go inside. Robin, Jason, and Sonny are sitting at the bar, and Robin tells them to order anything they want, it's on the house.  Jason thinks that Mac might object to that, but Robin says that it's her going away party. It's still about a month before she leaves, but everything's going so fast and there is so much she wants to do before she leaves.  She tells Sonny again that she wants to dance.  He stands up and properly asks if he could have this dance, and they hit the dance floor while Brenda looks on.

Classic scenes as Ned begins to rock the house as Eddie Maine as Tracy looks on in horror, the first time she has seen her son's alter ego in action. Ned says there are a lot of people that he has to thank for helping his singing career, but they're too numerous to mention. However, he would like to specifically thank his mother for sending him off to boarding school, which is where he discovered music.  He also thanks Lois and calls her up to the stage to make the announcement that this is the first night of the Idle Rich summer tour and they are leaving for performances across the counter. Once again, Tracy is stunned.  She stands up and yells that he's making a fool of himself, but he ignores her and the band starts playing, she gives up and sits down.

The show ends, Tracy goes to the bar and orders a shot of tequila.  She asks Jason very loudly if he liked the music?  "It was loud," he replies just as loudly, "just like you."  She then asks to talk to Robin and pulls her aside and asks if she's aware "those two are criminals."  Laughing, Robin says yes, and Tracy tells her to "be careful how you get your information."  Robin returns to Sonny and Jason and jokes to them about Tracy thinking she's wearing a wire.

As Lucy is telling Robin, Sonny, and Jason about the new Jax Cosmetics fragrance, Kevin comes back inside.  Lucy asks where he was, and he says that he just needed some fresh air.  Lucy blurts out that the paintings are Kevin's, and she thinks that he's a little nervous about his paintings being on display.  Kevin glares at her indicating he'd rather she hadn't mentioned that the paintings were his.  Sonny tells them that he's been looking at the paintings all night.  "Mother and child, that's nice," Sonny comments. He continues to comment on the Madonna and child theme of the paintings and says that they're really good.  Kevin is speechless.

Jason and Robin go swimming at the lake on the Quartermaine property. Robin tells Jason how much she is going to miss him. He tells her that he will miss her also and he has never felt that before. He asks her what it feels like and she tries to explain it. She questions whether she should be going? He encourages and tells her that if she doesn't go that she will miss out on her chance to learn and do everything she can do. He doesn't want her to stay for him; if she did he would be mad at her for feeling like she has to take care of him. They sit outside the Q boathouse, Robin says they should go but neither of them make any move to go. Jason tells her that soon this will be a memory, the smell of her hair, the feel of her skin and he wants to just hold onto her. She snuggles into her arms and the fall asleep. Carly arrives at Jason's and lets her self in. She snoops around and finds a picture of Robin at the Nurse's Ball and snarks, "Queen of Angels". She continues to wait impatiently for him to return.

They wake up and it is morning, Jason and Robin are still on the bench by the Q boathouse. Carly also wakes and realizes Jason didn't go home. She is ticked, but decides to continue to wait for him. AJ and Keesha come along and it is a bit awkward as Keesha realizes they have spent the night there together. The women go inside and they talk about howl life has thrown a few heady curves the past year. Keesha is glad that Robin and Jason are happy. They decide to get together once before Robin goes to Yale. AJ and Jason have as civil a conversation as Jason could possibly have. AJ basically tells Jason that as much as Jason may not like it, Jason will always be considered Q family. Jason tells AJ that he holds no grudge for the accident, that he thinks it made things better. AJ tells Jason that Keesha doesn't know.

After Jason and Robin leave, Keesha assures AJ that she is glad Jason and Robin are happy together and she is over it as she knows the Jason she loved is gone. She tries to talk AJ out of beating himself up over the accident. AJ comes thisclose to telling her, but just says he is fully responsible. Carly takes a shower and then lies on Jason's bed, wrapped in a towel. Jason brings Robin home and they both profusely apologize to Katherine, she assures them she wasn't worried and Mac isn't home as he was called away to some police emergency. Katherine suggests that Jason not be there when Mac gets back. Robin is irritated that they have to go through this all over again. Jason understands that Mac will get over it easier if he isn't there and realizes how mad is Mac there. Jason asks her to call him if she needs him.

Jason returns home and is annoyed to find Carly waiting for him. He asks if she picked the lock? She says no that he left the door unlocked, not particularly bright given his line of work. He asks what if he had brought someone home with him? She realizes he was with Robin over night and hurt says, "She has got you really good!" and she stomps off into the bathroom and slams the door. He calls Robin and tells them they have to get away together before Robin leaves for school. They meet outside of Luke's and Jason tells her he has to ask Sonny for the time off. Robin is surprised that they are meeting at Luke's (given that is where Lily died). Jason says that he is half owner and that Sonny likes to hang out there but then realizes that maybe it is too soon to have Sonny return there. Robin says that it will be all right that they won't bring Lily up if Sonny doesn't.

Sonny arrives and he does have a flashback to Lily's death. Robin finds him standing outside and hugs him. They go inside and Jason tells Sonny about their plans. Sonny agrees and tells him he gets vacation time off. Sonny wants to know where they are going and how long they will be gone? Jason isn't sure where they will go, and suggests NY city. Sonny comments on how hot it will be there. Jason suggests maybe somewhere near the water and then they can go into the city if they want. Another one of Sonny's guys comes in and Sonny asks him to make a drop and warns him to be careful, as things have been tense in that area. After he leaves, Jason tells Sonny that he could have done the drop. Sonny cautions him that Jason should never do business with a lady around, never to mix business and pleasure especially in their line of work. He gives Jason $500 a night for the hotel and then a couple of more thousand for spending money. Mike makes a suggestion for a place in Montauk.

While waiting for Robin at Luke's, Jason is approached by the guy Sonny sent to New York. He asks Jason to take the job since he's got some babe in town. Jason says okay if Sonny approves, but the guy asks him not to tell Sonny and Jason agrees.  Jason and Robin arrive in Montauk.  Jason asks why the hotel asked to check Robin's credit card; Robin said they probably thought it was a little strange with Jason trying to pay $900 in cash.  Robin and Jason banter.  Robin is a little somber but she says everything is perfect.

She and Jason go outside and stare into the night at the ocean.  Avoiding what's bothering her, Robin asks if Jason wants to go swimming.  Jason calls her on it and says she doesn't have to lie to him, "ever."  He asks what's wrong.  After a sad pause, Robin says it's Stone's birthday.  Jason comes over and holds her. Robin says she remembered about Stone's birthday when she signed the credit card receipt and realized it was August 19th.

She thinks about last year when he was in the hospital getting treatment for CMV to try to prevent his eventual blindness.  Jason remembers what Robin said at the Nurse's Ball, "It caused him unspeakable pain and stole his eyesight." Robin is amazed and touched that Jason remembered.  Jason said he remembers every word of her speech and that she was "the bravest thing I ever saw." Robin says she didn't think she could get through her speech but when she looked up and saw him and he gave her strength.  Jason says she does the same for him.

He goes back in the room, grabs their things and, heading for the door, says he's taking her home because it's Stone's birthday and she's sad.  Robin says she's happy to be there with him and although she loves and misses Stone, she wants to be with Jason and to stay where they are.  They kiss. Jason breaks away from their kiss and says he can't stop wanting her.  Jason says he doesn't want to hurt her and that he understands that she can't help it if she doesn't want him that way.   Robin says she really does and that she dreams about being with him. Jason is confused. He says he wants to have sex with her but he knows they can't because Stone is "still in her heart."

Robin says she used to think that, but Jason has a separate place in her heart.  She says she wants to make love, but she doesn't want to put him at risk for HIV.  He says he understands that her fear of putting him at risk would ruin sex so "I guess we'll never do it." Robin says, "Can I tell you how much I just hated hearing that?"   Jason says he hates it because he thinks she's beautiful and just wants to hold her.  Robin and Jason negotiate how they can be together, kissing, touching, and holding one another.  Jason says he is willing to do whatever she feels comfortable with looking like she's trying to convince herself, Robin says, "I'm not afraid."  She and Jason kiss some more and go for the bed.  Later, Jason and Robin are together in bed caressing one another. Robin says she can't believe they can be together this way without having sex.  Jason says if she has any other ideas, she should just speak up.

Robin and Jason have a cuddly moment the morning after. She then calls Mac to let him now she was fine. They banter a bit, Mac is upset but not angry and he comments that she sounds happy. He and Robin agree to spend some quality time together before she goes to Yale. Robin and Jason frolic the day away with great location shots on Montauk beach. When he makes dinner reservations at the hotel restaurant a rival mobster notices it. Robin and Jason decide to check out of their hotel and go to Brooklyn to have dinner at the restaurant that Sonny recommended.

Jason calls the restaurant to make a reservation and the Matri'D tells him that Sonny has already called him. He continues that Sonny has made arrangements to pay for their meal. They can have anything they like, and Jason is to make it a special evening for Robin. Jason makes their reservation for 8:00pm. Robin tells Jason about a Bed & Breakfast that she's always wanted to stay at. They decide they'll go there after dinner.  Before they leave the hotel, Robin goes to the telephone to call Mac and tell him their plans. Before dialing, she decides that she'll just call him later tonight when they arrive at their next destination. They grab their bags and head to Brooklyn.

Meanwhile, at the restaurant two men are having dinner. The one guy tells the other that he just say the reservation list, and it looks like their job should be easy. He says that both of Sonny's people will be at the restaurant tonight.

Jason and Robin arrive at the restaurant and get the royal treatment from the Maitre'D.  They are amused by the attention being paid to them, and Robin jokes that they should drop Sonny's name more often. Jason tries to tell Robin that she should feel free to date other people at Yale.  She is hurt by Jason's suggestion, but Jason tries to further explain. He just doesn't want her to be lonely or unhappy, but he will always be there for her and waiting for her to come home.

She tells him that she'll be much to busy with classes and activities to even find time for a relationship. She continues that she doesn't think that she'll find anyone with whom she can be open about her HIV.  Besides, she's going to Yale to get an education, not her Mrs. degree. He tells her that he would be okay with it if it did happened.  She finishes by saying that she couldn't just use some guy to get by until she got back to Jason and he seems surprised when she says it would be wrong for her. She continues, "I couldn't have a boy on the side."  Jason replies, "You'd be surprised. Some people don't mind."

Their appetizer arrives and Jason tells the Maitre'D to decide their dinner entrée for them. Jason decides that now is the time to do his errand for Sonny, which is 10 blocks away. Robin doesn't mind his leaving, and he tells her he'll be back shortly.  Robin tells him she'll just people-watch until he returns. In the meantime, Mac calls the hotel where they were staying and is told that they checked out.  He asks if any forwarding information was left, but there was none.

Robin is sitting in the restaurant and a guy comes up to her and just stands over her rather menacingly. At this point, Jason has arrived at the meeting place, but no one is there.  From out of nowhere, someone punches him and knocks him just short of unconscious, then throws him up against the wall.

Jason is wheeled into some emergency room; his face a roadmap of blood and bruises but there is no sign of Robin. Alan is working at the clinic, Jason asks him to call Robin, as he knows she must be very worried when Jason didn't come back to dinner. Alan tells him that no one knows where she is and Mac is worried about her. Jason is handcuffed to the bed and demands that Alan release him. He refuses unless Jason promises not to bolt. Robin has been taken to a police department for questioning about Sonny.

In the Brooklyn precinct house, Robin refuses to cooperate with the police as they press her to tell them all about her boyfriend's mob-related activities. The cop asks Robin if her friend works for Sonny Corinthos? He tells her that Jason was beat up and is in the hospital. She tells him that her uncle is the Port Charles Police Commissioner. Mac enters the room, and the cop asks, "Who is this?" Mac answers, "Trouble!" He has brought Justice with him so starts threatening a lawsuit and comments that they will be paying for Robin's medical school by the time he is through.

The cop seems nervous and leaves, perhaps to go check with his superiors? Justice returns and reports that Jason is in the local ER and he is banged up but he will be fine. Over at the ER, the local cop comes in and starts questioning Jason. Sonny comes in and asks what is going on that the last time he heard it wasn't a crime to get mugged. The cop says that he was assaulted under questionable circumstances and if Jason doesn't cooperate he will be arrested. Alan comes in and says that he is harassing an innocent person, and he is Dr. Alan Quartermaine and Jason is his son. He has arranged for Jason's transfer to GH and pretty much rolls over the local cop's attempt at intimidation.

Mac practically drags Robin into GH. She wants to see Jason. Jason and Alan are talking when Monica comes in and asks how Jason is?  He wants to see Robin. Tony comes in to examine Jason.  Tony is talking to Jason, "Follow my finger."

"Are you trying to hypnotize me?"  Tony has a few questions.  Jason says "Oh, Man!  Is this where we ponder why people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones?"

"Well, we could but those take a little time to answer and I don't think you want to be in the hospital any longer than necessary, do you?" When Jason finds out Robin is waiting, he spits out the answers to Tony's questions before Tony can ask them, what year it is, where he is, who he is, who Tony is.  He flies to the door into Robin's arms. Jason is difficult until Tony tells him that Robin is outside and as soon as Tony finishes with his exam that Jason can see Robin.

Jason is suddenly quite eager to cooperate, passes the questioning and jumps up to open the door and takes Robin into his arms. Jason and Robin talk. "I wanted to give you a good memory to take to college, and instead you end up in jail."  She assures him that she had a great time on their trip and doesn't have any regrets. They are hugging as Carly enters the room and she seems sad to see their closeness. Tony wants to keep Jason overnight, and Robin shouldn't stay.

Alan sees Sonny outside and is rude, demanding that Sonny leave, as he is trying to protect Jason from Sonny. Alan throws his weight around and says that this is his hospital and he makes the rules! Robin comes out in the hall and says that Jason is asking for Sonny. Alan says that for the time being he is restricting visitors to Robin and family only. Sonny snarks that Jason doesn't have any family. Robin stops him and points out that if Alan doesn't allow Jason to see Sonny that Jason will just go looking for him. She takes Sonny into see Jason and doesn't try to stop them. Mac comes along and Alan asks can't make do anything to stop Sonny? Mac points out that Jason is involved in whatever Sonny is into and if charges are brought against Sonny that most likely Jason would also be charged.

Sonny and Robin visit with Jason. Jason asks to talk to Sonny privately. After she leaves, Jason reveals it was Sonny's own guys who beat him up.  Sonny says right, it was standard procedure since he wasn't the one they expected to make the drop. Sonny really chews him out and says he has already disobeyed orders twice and that is two times more than he would give anyone else. Jason swears he'll follow orders and won't screw up again. Jason assures Sonny that before Jason was beat up and Robin was arrested that they had a really good time. Jason jokes though that in the future he will stay out of restaurants that Sonny recommends.

As Robin ministers to Jason, Brenda arrives to personally check things out. Outside Jason's room, Sonny quietly tries to reassure her that Robin is fine. Alan attacks Sonny again and they exchange insults and not too subtle threats before Brenda hustles Sonny off.

Tony has insisted that Jason spend the night at GH, and Robin stays with him. The next morning, they wake up in each other's arms. Carly comes in to take his vitals before he is released. She says she is sorry that Jason was hurt. Robin assures her they had a great time in Montauk beforehand. Carly begins asking questions about Montauk and Jason tells her to go get someone else to finish his exam. Robin is surprised by his rudeness. Alan comes in and asks Robin if he can talk to her.

After she leaves, Carly tells him if he doesn't get a hold of his nerves that Robin will know something is going on, as she isn't stupid. He says he isn't nervous but he doesn't like how she talks to Robin, like she is trying to talk to Jason over Robin's head. He warns her not to pretend that she doesn't know what he is talking about and not to do it anymore.

In the lobby waiting area, Alan gives her the update on her health status. Alan is trying to tell her that her immune system is still fighting the virus but that her body produces billons of the virus cells every day. She is very disturbed by this as she thought the virus was dormant, something to be fought later on. She didn't realize that her body is already fighting it every day. Alan recommends that she start a drug treatment program to help her body fight, that for 90% of the patients who start this drug treatment that their bodies stop producing the virus and that these drugs work much better in a healthy patient such as herself. He tells her he wants her to think about this as she can't ever skip a dose or take a weekend off or her body would build up a resistance.

He points out there is also the cost to consider, about $20,000 a year. He tells her that her medical insurance most likely won't cover the drugs. He can't tell her that this is what she should do, that if she were his daughter, he would recommend it and then pray that this is the best choice for her. He tells her that with this treatment, she could get lucky. She asks about how long it would be before all of her T-cells are replaced if her body stops producing the HIV cells? He says theoretically about three years. She realizes that she could possibly be HIV free at some point in the future, and be a doctor and have children, and suddenly has a whole new lease on life.

Jason comes out to the lobby and sees Robin sitting there, obviously emotional. He demands to know what Alan has said to her (figuring he upset her). Robin says thank you to Alan, and her and Jason leave. She tells Jason that with the new drug treatment that she might not get and die of AIDS, that now she really has hope for the first time. She tells him she can never repay Alan for what he gave her today. Robin and Jason are so happy about her news.  Of course, they still don't know if this will be a better treatment, or how much better.  She tells him about knocking on wood.  She asks, "Why aren't you kissing me?"  He responds, "I'm brain-damaged."  Later, Carly knocks and walks into Jason's room. She walks around it, and gets into bed to wait.  Jason comes into his room, spots Carly's dress.  She comes out of the shower clad in a towel and wants to welcome him back properly.  He tells her no.  "I don't want to have sex with you anymore."

"Wow, that's a show stopper... you and Little Bo Peep are finally getting it on?"  She points out that Robin won't be around.  He tells her he doesn't want to be her boy on the side anymore.  She thinks he doesn't have blood running through his veins, he just has wires.  She threatens to tell Robin, and is standing there when Robin's message comes through about the going-away party.

Robin arrives at Luke's for her going away party. Katherine says her goodbyes and gives Robin a stuffed animal from her childhood as comfort for Robin while she is away from home. Sonny comes in and they hug. Robin tells him about the drug treatment. He asks what is holding her back? She says the cost and the commitment. He tells her that as long as he is alive she will never have to worry about the cost. He asks her what about the commitment? Is she willing to do that? She says yes, but part of her is afraid to believe, to hope that she will have a future.

Sonny advises that she trust her instincts that they are the best he has ever seen. He tells her that she has guts and he wants her to go out there and pursue her dreams. He surmises that she has figured out how to absorb the pain from the past and still stay whole and that is a great accomplishment. She tells him that he can also do it and he can let go of the pain without dishonoring Lily. She says she won't be here to look out after him and she needs him to promise him that he will at least try? He says he has always been a sucker for her and he will try.

Jason arrives and says he is glad to see his two favorite people; this is a good sign instead of running into the Quartermaines. They enter and Mike proposes a toast, "Bula Bula". Jason doesn't get it so Robin explains that is the Yale fight song. Brenda and Lois come in to help celebrate with going away presents. Luke and Laura come in; Bobbie is there as well. Robin can't believe she is leaving for Yale tomorrow. A part of her doesn't want to leave. He takes her in his arms and holds her. She tells him she doesn't think she is ready. Katherine tells Robin that Mac wasn't able to attend (he is off saving Felicia from stalker Kevin). Carly comes in and rolls her eyes at finding Jason with his arms around Robin. Alan comes in and he also says goodbye. He has a gift for her but she tells him he didn't need to bring her anything, that he already gave her an incredible gift today.

Jason goes up to Carly and tells her that she has no business being there and he isn't going to let her ruin this evening for Robin. He tells her to stay out of Robin's face. Carly is indignant, she didn't come to ruin anything for Robin. She didn't like how they left things earlier that he made it sound like she was trying to blackmail him. He says she was but she can't. She tells him that she isn't going to tell Robin about their tawdry little affair. She doesn't want Robin to know as Carly also has a reputation to consider. Robin sees the tension between them and comes up and asks if anything is wrong?

Carly says they will have to tell Robin the truth. Robin turns to Jason and says that whatever it is to please just tell her. Carly lies that there was a gift that Jason wanted to get for Robin but she wasn't able to find what he was looking for. She just came here to tell Jason and to wish Robin good luck. She leaves; Jason says he is sorry that he didn't know that Carly would show up here. Robin is quiet and sad for a moment, instinctively knowing that there was something more going on. He says he wants to tell her what that was really about, but she stops him already knowing but not wanting to hear it. Robin says her goodbyes to Sonny and they hug (Kimberly is obviously choked up with her final scene with Maurice).

Jason takes her to the boxcar and he tells her that Carly lied, and it goes back to the Fourth of July when she lied then as well. She defends that he didn't lie, he just didn't tell her the truth. He tells her how sorry he is. She says she isn't sorry, she is just mad that that Carly can give him what she can't. He says what she gave him was great. He understood that Robin needed time because of Stone. He didn't know until Montauk that they could make love like that, that she even wanted that. He realizes now that her kisses were trying to tell him that but he didn't understand. She says she used Stone as an excuse to make Jason think he was second because she was afraid of him getting HIV from her. He says not second, just separate.

He tells her she is the only person that is inside of her that he is connected to. He tells her he cares about Sonny and about Ned because she taught him how to care. He tells her he could have sex with anyone but in order to make love you have to be able to trust the other person and be able to tell them anything. He promises that he will never be with Carly again. She reminds him that she is leaving. He tells her now that he has dreams for the future, dreams of her living a long life and of becoming a doctor. They both promise that they will be in each other's future, that they will always be tied to each other.

The next morning they wake up together in the boxcar. Jason says its time, meaning to take her to Yale. He kisses her softly and holds her in his arms for a few more minutes. Robin returns home to say goodbye to Mac in person, he is thrilled to see her as he thought she had already left town. Jason comes into Kelly's and sits with Luke and Sonny. They are surprised to see him, he explains that Robin wanted to say goodbye in person to Mac before she left town.
