Just Jason #14  May 31 - October 8, 1999 - 8 hour original edit

DVD #14A  Carly lies down on the sofa as she waits for Jason to return home and falls asleep. In her dream, Carly imagines that an angry A.J. finds her at Jason's. A.J. is furious and he tells Carly that her plan won't work. He then flaunts Hannah in her face and tells Carly that Jason is only using her. He then tells her that he intends to make the most of their marriage and reminds her that there are definite advantages to being Mrs. A.J. Quartermaine. Carly agrees and starts to undress. The two sink to the floor in passion.

In another dream sequence, Carly imagines Emily wearing her mink coat. Emily tells Carly that Jason doesn't care about her at all and when Emily motions to leave, Carly begs to be allowed to go along. Emily slams the door in her face and Carly is forced to stay at the Quartermaine mansion and listen to Alan and Monica argue about who brought Carly into the house. Carly enters the argument and threatens to leave with Michael. On her way out, she encounters A.J., who tells her how to dress properly. Edward enters the foyer and reveals a forged prenuptial agreement as Lila says that Carly should have thought of that possibility before marrying A.J. As Carly tries to leave, Dr. Smithson threatens to send Carly back to Ferncliff to visit her husband, Dr. Evans. A.J. then handcuffs Carly and tells her that she'll never leave.

In the next segment, Carly finds Emily playing pool in the foyer and kissing a handsome boy. The teens then leave to go to Jake's. After they have left, Carly picks up a pool cue only to be stopped by Michael, who tells her that her trashy antics have no place in the Quartermaine home. A.J. then instructs Carly to call the boy Trey, short for A.J. Quartermaine III. He gives Trey $1000 spending money and tells him to broaden his tie collection. When the doorbell rings, Jason enters with Hannah. The two embrace passionately before Jason announces Hannah as his fiancée. Suddenly, Hannah appears pregnant and Edward favors Hannah's child, named Michael, to Trey. Ned interrupts to inform the Quartermaines that A.J. has lost the family fortune, but remarks that both he and Jason are exempt from the loss because they invested their money elsewhere. Two men then come to strip Carly of her valuables.

The next segment of Carly's dream features the Quartermaines moving to Kelly's, with Carly carrying the luggage (evidently Reginald and Laticia eloped). It is quickly revealed that Sonny is the new owner of the diner and he demands that the Quartermaines leave. Bobbie enters the restaurant, followed by Jason, Hannah, and the new Michael. Bobbie tells Carly that she adopted Hannah because she is so pretty and smart. When Carly asks Jason for a hand, he tells her to listen to Sonny. Sonny then chimes in and says that the Quartermaines can stay as long as Carly does all of the work.

The Quartermaines gobble down chili as Carly scrubs the floor. When the family goes upstairs, Sonny belittles Carly before Monica and A.J. return to make fun of her. Trey enters, having been beaten up by Michael. Jason and Michael soon follow, blaming Carly for the whole situation. Jason then brings enough money to buy back the Quartermaine mansion, but he won't give Carly a cent of it. Bobbie and Hannah depart for a mother/daughter facial and Monica tells Jason that he has always been her favorite.
Next, Emily brushes past Carly on her way to Vegas. Carly then enters the den to find her drunken son. A.J. comes into the den and demands to start a new family. Carly runs to the front door to find Jason and plead for help. Just then, Carly awakens from her dream to find Jason urging her to get up. She hugs Jason when she realizes that everything was part of a dream. She tells him that she needs him and says that her situation is a disaster. Jason asks if she married A.J. and Carly explains that she did, but that she couldn't bring herself to sleep with him. She asks Jason what they are going to do.

Carly turned to Jason for support and admitted she might not be able to go through with her plan. Carly returned to AJ expecting the worst and made up a story about her whereabouts. Carly was then greatly relieved when AJ said he would give her some space and maintained that they needed to get to know each other better before becoming intimate.

Jason goes to the penthouse, Sonny tells him to go to a public place tonight. Jason has figured out that Moreno dies tonight. He tells Sonny he hates this; Sonny says he does too but it's the way it's gotta be. Jason leaves and goes to Luke's with paper work. Hannah immediately waits on him, telling him she thinks she'll surprise Sonny with dinner at the penthouse. Jason tells her not tonight. Luke overhears and looks menacing. He comes over to Jason and tells him it's okay to use the club as a cover, but he wants to know whether Sonny is taking care of the Moreno problem tonight. Luke says he is tired of being "a spud standing in the middle of the street with his pants down" in the middle of a turf war.

Luke tells Jason that his stack of paperwork is a poor excuse for an alibi. He wants to know what is going on. Jason says that Sonny is just taking precautions. Sonny wouldn't tell him, but that is his guess. Luke refuses to believe that Jason doesn't really know. Sonny might not have told him directly, but Jason knows. Jason admits that Sonny is taking back his territory from Moreno. Luke's only comment is "at last". Luke tells Jason that he knew it would happen. He isn't surprised that Sonny didn't trust him with the details. Jason says that that is how Sonny operates.

As they continue to talk, Hannah walks up to the table and asks Luke if she can leave. When Luke tells her it's OK to go, she asks Jason if he is sure that Sonny is busy. Jason assures her that Sonny is busy and she leaves saying that she can always leave him a message. After Hannah is gone, Luke tells Jason that the first thing the police are going to ask him is if he didn't know what was going on, why did he spend the evening at Luke's doing paperwork. Luke asks Jason if Sonny will be successful without Jason's help. Jason says that he isn't sure. He wanted to help, but Sonny wouldn't let him.

Luke tells Jason that the problem is that Sonny and Jason are too close. Jason is trying to tail Sonny and Sonny is trying to keep Jason away so he looks respectable. Jason says that Sonny is his best friend and he doesn't want him to die if there is a way to stop it. Luke tells Jason that he may have to face the fact that he can't stop it. Jason's kind of blind loyalty can be suicide.

Luke asks Jason to watch the club for him. He needs to get away. Luke leaves just as Chloe, V, AJ and Carly arrive. They walk past Jason on their way to a table, but Chloe stops to introduce herself. She tells Jason that she is happy to finally meet him. She has heard so many wonderful things about him from Emily. She politely invites Jason to join them, but he just as politely declines. Chloe starts to leave but stops to ask Jason if he has an opinion on the land sea crane issue. Jason tells her that when in doubt, she should vote with Sonny. If Sonny isn't available then she should vote with Ned. Jax and AJ aren't trustworthy. Chloe laughs and thanks Jason for advice then goes to join the others. The group chats for a bit then AJ invites Carly to dance. Carly happily agrees but looks at Jason over AJ's shoulder while they dance.

A musical montage, Luke quietly enters Laura's hospital room and almost starts to cry when he sees her lying there looking so vulnerable. Laura awakens suddenly and is shocked to see Luke standing in her room. Their eyes meet and they stare at each other in silent, shared grief.  At Luke's, Jerry and Bobbie have joined Carly and AJ on the dance floor while V and Chloe laugh and talk at a table. Simon walks out of the "back room" and sees the woman he has been searching for. He is delighted and puts his hand to his heart. V notices Simon and turns away with an exasperated look on her face. Carly pulls AJ closer to her while they dance as Jason stands at the bar drinking a beer and watching. The diamond on her finger glitters magnificently in the light as she strokes the back of AJ's neck. At Sonny's penthouse, things are getting steamier as clothes are discarded and kisses become more urgent.

AJ and Carly are looking mighty cozy, and Jason isn?t impressed. Carly looks like she wants to jump out of her skin every time he touches her. Bobbie drops by Jason and thanks him for everything he?s done and given up for Carly and little Michael.

Hannah runs to Luke?s and tells Jason that Sonny has been arrested, who in turn gets Alexis. Alexis comes in, tells Hannah to stop giving a statement without counsel, chews out Mac for not waiting for Sonny?s attorney, and then asks Sonny if he?s guilty. She promptly refuses to represent him. On her way out the door, she tells Jason to get out of there and don?t look back. Jason goes to Sonny offering to help, and Sonny refuses. Mike confronts Jason over Sonny's taking back his territory and is advised to wait for Sonny to call him.

Jason, Carly, and Michael are playing on a swingset in the park. Jason mocks Carly's plan. Carly ends up tickling Jason, then suddenly runs and leaps over the bushes to hide when she hears AJ's voice. He chastises Jason for putting Michael in a swing that's too large then whines to Jason about how today is the first meeting of "Toddler Time with Daddy," and can he pretty please have Michael for the afternoon? "Let me get this straight: You signed up for a class to learn how to play with Michael?" Jasons asks. AJ whines some more, and Jason gives him Michael for the afteroon. Much later, after it is already dark, Jason and Carly are still in the park, talking by the swings. Jason ends up pushing Carly on the swing.

Emily tries to get Jason to discuss his relationship with Robin on camera for documentary she is presenting at the Nurse?s Ball. He tells her about Robin?s speaking at a previous ball and the pain it caused her and refuses to participate. Emily convinces Jason to go to the Nurses Ball with her after unsuccessfully trying to get him to discuss his relationship with Robin on camera. Carly heads over to Jason's to get the diamonds that he gave her in order to wear them with her new dress for the ball.

As everyone gets ready to leave for the Nurse?s Ball, a music montage begins to "Rock this Town" as the Q?s get ready to leave, AJ & Carly, Sonny & Hannah, Simon & V and Jax & Chloe, Ned & Alexis, Mac & Felicia, Emily & Jason, and Nik & Liz. Most of the women spin around to showcase their gowns.

At the start of the ball, Lucy announces Amanda's generous contribution, she speaks about an anonymous contribution made in Robin's name. The camera shows Felicia looking at a choked-up Mac and Emily looking at Jason. Lucy introduces the Q men (AJ, Edward, Alan and Ned) who do "I Feel Good" accompanied byfour female dancers. The men all wear sunglasses and blue satin shirts.

Mike expresses concern to Jason that Sonny is out in public without a bodyguard. Jason tells him not to worry. The next musical number is "Jump, Jive and Wail". Performing are Tony, Mac, Felicia, Bobbie, Mike, Eve and Chris along with about eight dancers.
Jason lets Sonny and Hannah know they should use the service entrance to leave. Emily and Ned sing "Forever Young" while we see quilts of many AIDS victims. Jason looks sad and pensive during their song. Ned encourages the audience to join them and they all sing along. It was a sweet, sad number.

Jason tries to comfort a humiliated Carly (a tape was shown of Bobbie & Jerry having sex, should have been Emily?s video. I didn?t include the video). When he hears AJ calling Carly's name, he hides. AJ takes Carly back to the Ball. When Emily tells Jason that she told someone how Sonny was leaving through the kitchen, Jason goes running off. Sonny and Hannah are walking through the kitchen, talking and laughing, unaware that they are being followed by Juan. Jason charges through a door and attacks Juan. Juan asks what he's doing and says "my business is with him," indicating Sonny. Sonny notices the necklace Juan is wearing. Sonny says it belonged to his wife and asks how Juan got it. Juan answers, "you gave it to me."

Jason brings Emily home and she is telling him how awful she is feeling. That she cause so many problems tonight. Jason gives her some money to go buy Carly a nice present that girls would like. In their bedroom, AJ and Carly kiss and he starts to undress her, asks if she wants him to stop and she says no. Jason has brought Emily home and stopped by outside of Carly?s room, he sees AJ and Carly making out.

Jason visits Sonny at his penthouse and tells him about seeing Carly and AJ together and that it bothered him. Later, Carly visits Jason at the warehouse and tells him she slept with AJ because he was so nice after the Nurse's Ball and she couldn't keep putting him off forever. She assures Jason that it meant nothing.

Jason is initially non-committal about Carly's news. Carly wants more from Jason about his feelings. Jason asks, "Why now?" Carly discovers that Jason came by to check on her that night as saw her with AJ. Carly still wants Jason to stop her from being with AJ. She says that after the fiasco of the Nurses Ball, she just wanted some comfort, but once the deed was done, that was all it felt like, not like it would be with Jason. Jason says Carly doesn't need his opinion, "What do you want from me?!" She wants to keep her friend. They have the usual agreement about goals and methods. Jason says the only way to fix things is to just get out now. Carly says it's gone to far. Carly stumbles on her way out, Jason catches her: she's crying, they hold each other, touch each other's face, but Jason ends up pulling away and gently sending Carly home. Later, we see Jason remembering himself comforting Carly at the Nurses Ball, and we see Carly sitting sadly in a garden somewhere.

In the coffee warehouse, Sonny & Jason discussing how to keep Hannah safe and how to get Juan to go home to Puerto Rico. Suddenly a guard shouted that there was an intruder in the warehouse. Juan ran out, and Jason tackled him. Juan bragged to Sonny about how easily he managed to avert the guards' attention, how he is equally good at dealing with the cops, etc., all in hopes of proving to Sonny that Sonny should hire him. Sonny told Juan that he would never work for him.

On the docks,Juan bragged about his wallet-stealing skills. To make his point, he had Emily walk away from him, and he demonstrated on her how quickly and unnoticeably he could steal her wallet. Unfortunately, Sonny and Jason saw the end of the game & assumed that Juan really was stealing her wallet. Everyone started yelling, Emily told them that she told Juan to steal her wallet. Jason told Juan never to mess with his sister again. The fight ended with Sonny giving shame-faced Juan money and forcing him to live at Kelly's.

Carly joins Jason and Baby Michael at the boat house. While Michael is napping, Jason rubs sunscreen on Carly. AJ arrives and says "well isn't this cozy." AJ and Jason argue about Jason being with Michael on an unscheduled day. As they start to hurl insults, Carly takes Michael back to the house. Later, as Jason is having a bit of a fit, Carly brings Michael back. Jason doesn't want Michael to see him like that so he calms down and leaves. Jason comes into Kelly?s and tells Bobbie about how he got upset and Michael saw his behavior. Before, he didn't have any feelings about AJ. Now he can't stand him. Jason has flashbacks of Michael and himself since Michael was a newborn. He rushes off.

At Sonny's penthouse, Jason wants to know why Sonny threw someone through a window at Kelly?s. Sonny tells him the whole story including the fact that Juan came along at the end of the confrontation. Sonny still thinks it's best for Juan if they don't get involved in each other's lives.

Jason is shooting pool at Jake's. Carly challenges him. Jason grins and tells her that he won't go upstairs with her. She wants to dance with him if she wins. Jason wins even though Carly does everything she can to distract him. He decides to dance with her. As they dance and temperatures start to rise, Jake interrupts them. She doesn't understand why Jason would want his teenage sister and her friends there for the concert, but she'll make sure they are not served any alcohol. Jason is confused. He never talked to Emily about this. He tells Jake he'll take full responsibility for Emily and her friends. Carly decides she had better leave before Emily sees her there. She wants Jason to dance with her again. He says later.

When Emily, Liz, Nik and Juan arrive at Jake?s for the concert they are stopped at the door by the bouncer, but Jake says to let them in. Liz notices Jason at the bar drinking beer and is worried. Emily goes to talk with him. He says he knows what happened. When he sees Juan at the table, he asks her whose idea this was. She claims it was all her idea. Jason pretends to believe her. She goes back to the table and Juan and Jason stare at each other. Jason goes out and starts to get on his bike. He has a flashback of when he told Carly he was committed to her and Michael and they kissed. Then we see Carly sitting in the garden smelling a rose and having the same flashback.

Carly is talking to Jason about how he never made any promises to her to break. The only one she can remember him making is
that he'd wait for her and Michael. Jason says that the promise he made was to protect Michael from anything. But he didn't' know the thing that would hurt Michael the most would be him. Carly asks who put this idea in Jason's head that he would ever hurt Michael. Jason says that he has done a wrong thing. What? Let's discuss this, she says. Jason takes a deep breath. He says that he's giving him up. He will not have shared custody etc, not see him at all. Carly asks why he is doing this. Is this Sonny's doing?

Jason asks how many homes Michael has. None! Not two! He isn't happy in either place. He loves me, but he doesn't' know why he has to get used to the mansion if Jason will be there to save him. Jason says that it has to end. Someone has to quit this, and the logical person is ME, NOW! Carly says that she just has to be married a bit longer, then she can leave AJ and be a family. You, Michael me, the way we planned. Jason says that she did good, called all the shots, but AJ didn't play along. He will be Michael's family forever.

Carly tells Jason that he has it all wrong. She will figure it out. She will take care of him there till she can shake loose of AJ. Jason says that AJ has a legal right to his son, and the courts will always let him have his son, no matter what. Carly starts to cry, saying that Jason is doing this to punish *her*. Jason says that he doesn't want Michael to learn that his mother caused his father's downfall. Jason says that it's the only way, for him to leave them. Carly says that Jason is Michael's father, the only father he has. She pulls herself together and says that she will tell Michael that his "father" will be back tomorrow to see him.

Carly weeps as Jason goes to say goodbye to Michael. A.J. returns home to find his distraught wife. When he tries to follow Jason to the rose garden to confront his brother, Carly screams at him to leave Jason and Michael alone. Meanwhile, in the rose garden, Jason tells his son goodbye. He assures Michael that he will always be his father and Michael responds by saying "dada." Jason then explains that he is leaving his son only because he does not wish to hurt him.

Carly begs A.J. to stay with her as Jason enters the room with Michael. After Letitia takes Michael upstairs to bed, Jason hands A.J. a court order relinquishing all rights to his son. When A.J. expresses disbelief, Jason leaves. Carly pleads with her husband to leave well enough alone as A.J. delights in his new "real" family.

Jason tells Sonny about his decision to let go of Michael. Jason goes to Jake's. When Emily and Juan show up, Jason tells her his decision about Michael, Emily is upset with the news. Jason makes one of Marino's men (Sorel) angry and goes outside. The man comes out with a pool stick, and Juan follows him. Jason and Sorel fight. Juan jumps on Jason when the man is down. Jason grabs Juan as Em comes outside.

Emily stops Jason from hitting Juan. When Juan tries to justify his actions, Emily tells him that the situation with Sonny, Jason, and Moreno is complicated. Sorel gets up and leaves. Jason insists that Emily leaves with him. He says she can't go back inside now that Sorel knows who she is. She and Jason leave on his bike.

Jason enters his penthouse. He calls Sonny and leaves a message on his machine, "we have a Juan situation." A knock at the door, it's Hannah. She wants to do something for the cuts on his face. He doesn't want her to fuss. As she cleans his cuts, she urges him to file assault charges. Jason assumes Hannah is there to see Sonny. She tells him they had an altercation because she withheld information from him. Jason says, "you mean you lied." She keeps attempting to rephrase what she did, but Jason grins and keeps saying she lied. She claims she wanted to dump her old baggage and start a new life with Sonny.

She continues to clean his cuts and just as she and Jason get close, Sonny enters. He says he can come back later. Hannah becomes indignant. Did he think she was seducing Jason? Did he think she was betraying him? Hannah gets angrier and tells Sonny that she assumes she has no job and no place to live now since he was responsible for her getting those. She leaves. Sonny asks Jason to tell him what happened with Juan. After being told, Sonny is concerned that Juan is taking sides with Moreno to get back at him.

Jason packed up Michael's things and told Sonny he was taking off for a while. He said there were too many memories of his family, Michael and Carly. Sonny told him running away wouldn't help but knew he had to find out for himself.

Carly showed up at the penthouse and called Jason a liar and said she hated him. She said he was abandoning her and Michael. Jason said he will never do that. Carly told him she believed AJ more than him and said she was going to give AJ the life Jason could've had. Jason walked out. After seeing the elevator doors close with Jason inside, Carly cried and said "I'm sorry" and "please don't go." They saw each other again downstairs but said nothing. Jason rode off on his motorcycle.

Jason is throwing poker chips onto the beach and Maria asks why is here alone. He says he has to get used to being alone. Later, Jason comes back from diving off the cliffs and Maria chides him for being too reckless. He tells her that he needs the rush to feel alive. He also mentions that he doesn't have a little boy anymore and they kiss. Jason admitted his feelings for Carly and that he misses her. He says that leaving doesn?t fix anything, that the people he left might need him and he won?t be there. He decides to go home.

Carly and Sonny are still sitting on the couch when Jason walks in. Sonny tells Jason that Carly was there looking for Jason and would not leave. Sonny goes in search of a drink. Carly tells Jason what about Sonny?s breakdown. Jason and Carly hug and he thanks her for being there. Jason asks and Carly says that Sonny did not hurt her, just scared her. She tells Jason that she understands Sonny and his behavior better. Jason tells her that Sonny did not mean the hurtful things he said.

Carly has had a revelation that someone does hurt more that her. The people she loves are still alive, but Sonny's loved ones are dead. Carly tells Jason that Benny and Johnny were out looking for him; he tells her Johnny is outside. He says she did the best anyone could do when Sonny gets that way. Carly says she just kept telling herself to hold on till Jason returned. Jason tells her he came back because his life is in PC. Jason tells Carly to go home, but she first wants him to promise that he does not hate her or think she betrayed him. She drags out the tired line about doing everything for him, Michael, and herself. They embrace.

Sonny comes downstairs and is still surly. He wants Carly to leave. Jason walks her out. They talk in front of the elevator. Carly says she understands how Sonny feels knowing that she saw him that way - his did not mean to trust her. Jason says he knows that Carly will not betray that trust by telling anyone what happened. Jason says he owes her one for being there when it counted. She reminds him that she owes him far more and that she did not do it as a payback. Jason  he admires Carly for getting through the time with Sonny. Carly leaves.

Jason goes back in and starts to clean up. Sonny tells him to leave it. Sonny tells Jason about what happened with Juan. Jason tells him he is not to blame for Juan's condition. Jason reminds Sonny of all the ways he made Jason's life what it is. Jason tells Sonny that Lily would not want him to live his live like this and reminds him that Lily forgave him. Sonny tells Jason that he was right about Carly being brave. Jason offers to call Mike and Hannah to tell them that Sonny is okay. Sonny does not want Hannah to know what happened. Mike answers the phone at Kelly's and Jason gives him the report. Mike gets ready to put Hannah on the phone and Jason asks that Mike just tell her that Sonny is fine.

Hannah arrives at Sonny's penthouse and tells Johnny she wants to see Sonny. Jason comes out into the hallway and blocks the door when Hannah moves toward it. She becomes angry and leaves. Inside, Sonny asks Jason if he told Hannah to leave. Sonny is still in a daze. Later, when Carly arrives, Sonny is upstairs. She and Jason discuss Sonny. Carly assures Jason that he is not in this alone. He has her.

Sonny wants to protect Hannah from seeing him like this since he scared her so bad that night that guy grabbed her. Jason tries to point out that Sonny's strategy didn't work in the past with Brenda why do it again. Benny comes over and says Carlos is in town and Sonny has to go to this important meeting, Sonny doesn't want to go so they talk about it and Jason decides to go.

Jason returns from the meeting with Carlos. The meeting went well, which means that Jason is back in the organization. Sonny does not understand why he wants back in when he was able to escape it. Jason says it's where he belongs, it's what he knows and there's no longer anything to lose. They shake on it. Sonny and Jason are eating. Sonny tells him about Hannah's visit. He tells Jason that he kept telling her to leave, but wanted her back as soon as she left. Sonny asks Jason to go check on Hanna and Juan.  Mike comes by to check on Sonny. He tries talking to Jason about betting on the horses, but Jason leaves.

Emily sneaks into the hospital and is caught by Jason. She tells him about what happened to Juan. Jason tells her that Sonny said she was very brave. She tells Jason that she cannot see Juan and about how important Juan has become to her. They go into Juan's room. Jason tells Juan he came for Sonny, but Juan is not terribly impressed.

Emily goes to see Jason. She tells him how Juan is nice to her (Jason doesn?t agree), and Emily begs him to intercede and talk to Monica about how Juan is really okay. Jason is resistant and Emily pleads, “Do you have any idea what it is like to care about someone that everyone hates?”

Carly goes to Jason to tell him about AJ changing Michael?s name to Michael Alan Quartermaine, it?s clearly hard for her. Jason says that now Michael will know who he is. Carly doesn?t like his reaction and tells him not to pretend like the last year and half never happened.

DVD #14B  Carly and Jason have a long talk about how things could have been different and how Carly appreciates Jason being around. Jason is clearly falling for her. Carly tells Jason she?d do anything to be with him. He asks, “Even leave AJ?” She nods. He points out, “And drag Michael through another custody battle?” She doesn?t really react before the scene ends.

Outside Sonny's penthouse, AJ tells Jason that Carly is his wife and warns him to stay away from her. Carly says she's there to tell Jason about Michael being christened. Jason and AJ quarrel and go after each other physically. Jason lets go of AJ, tells him to go home to his family and be glad he's alive. Jason goes back into the penthouse and tells Sonny what happened with AJ. Jason now realizes all the times he could have turned things around with Carly. Sonny says he broke things off for all the right reasons.

Sonny wants Jason to call Hannah and call off their date. Jason won't do it. He reminds Sonny that he's been his messenger before when Brenda was standing there in her wedding dress and that he won't hurt someone who loves him like that again. Sonny tells him that he's messed up, but that he saw how it went down with Jason and Carly and he doesn't want that. He goes on trying to wear Jason down when Hannah is announced. She comes in and is surprised that Jason is there. He leaves.

Sonny and Jason are talking business, Sonny asks if it is that easy for Jason to just pick up where he left off, the response is that is all he knows. Jason says that he ran into Hannah on the docks last night. Sonny tells Jason that Carly shown up to give him a message to give to Jason. That her and AJ and Michael are going to Hawaii for two weeks and that she realizes that she has to let Jason go because she loves him. Jason said Hawaii would be good for Michael because he loves the ocean. Jason talks about what the three of them had together and that when you get that you should never let it go. Sonny asks if Jason needs him and is told no, he says good, I have something I have to take care of.

Jason is working when Emily comes to see him about talking to Monica and Alan for her about Juan. Emily tells Jason that the reason they don't like Juan is because Sonny took Jason away. The dinner was awful because he defended Sonny. She uses his relationship with Robin to get him to help her. How her and Juan feel about each other is real, even tho they are young and it is no one's business but their own. He agrees to talk to Monica and Alan, Emily hugs him telling him he is the best. Monica comes by to talk to Jason, she says she called the warehouse and they told her she could find him here. She asks Jason to talk to Emily about Juan. Monica says that since Emily has met Juan she has changed she is worried she is using drugs again. Jason reassures her that Emily is clean from drugs. He says he hates anyone telling him what to do so he is not going to do it to Emily. He tells her that he sees now that after his accident that she was just trying to help, but what she did was to push him away so that he had no other choice but to cut ties and that she better be careful or she may do the same with Emily. Monica says she could not bear to lose Emily like she has lost Jason, Jason says you have not lost me, I am right here.

Bobbie phones Jason and asks him to come down and talk to her about Juan and Sonny. She tells Jason what happened at Kelly's between Juan and Sonny, then she asks him if Juan is mixed up in Sonny's business, he tells her no. She says that when she first heard of Lucky's death the first thought was if him or Sonny had anything to do with it, she knows that they didn't, but she just does not want it to happen to anyone else. The conversation goes to Lucas and Tony, being a bit late. She is saying how much he misses his father so she let them go alone. Jason wonders if Michael misses him, Bobby tells him that of course he does, for a year and half Jason rearranged his life for that little boy. Tony arrives and Jason watches the three of them, the pain of losing Michael is written all over his face.

Sonny informs Jason that he's leaving for a week. Jason freaks a little asking him to take her somewhere else because that is a secure hideaway. Sonny says no, he wants to give her something of himself. Hannah comes in all happy and they leave. Mike comes by later and wants to page Sonny at the airport to tell him goodbye and congratulations. He's so happy that Sonny has found someone again. Jason reminds him of how things really are for Sonny and Mike leaves telling him he's not going to wreck his day.

Felicia went to Sonny's penthouse to ask for his help to find Luke. Jason was there and told her that Sonny was away. Felicia then told Jason that he needed to find Luke because he may be in trouble with Cesar Fasion. Jason asked if Robin was ok when he remembered that Fasion had killed her parents. Soon after, Mac barged in on Felicia and Jason talking, and Felicia said that she was there to tell Jason Robin was ok, even though that wasn't the truth. Mac then said that he would charge Jason with unsolved crimes if he and Sonny were working with Fasion, when Jason said he didn't know where Sonny was. After Felicia and Mac left, Jason called Benny and had him check Fasion's contact in PC and try to find Luke. At Jakes, Juan goes over to Jason to thank him for talking to Monica. It ends up with Juan being rude and Jason leaving.

At the Q's, Jason walks in from the rose garden and Edward quickly hangs up. AJ enters and accuses Jason of trying to ruin his honeymoon by organizing a work slowdown at the docks. Reginald enters frantically looking for Letitia. When he finds out she is still in Hawaii, he goes off on AJ. Edward tells Reginald to call Letitia. Reginald tells Edward and AJ that they do not understand a person?s needs. He gives Jason his blessing if Jason is there to torture Edward and AJ; if Jason is not there to torture them, could he pencil them into his schedule? Reginald leaves. Edward and AJ continue to try to get Jason to stop the work slowdown.Jason says he is not the cause of the problem. AJ and Jason have words about Carly and Michael. AJ says that he can beat the union; that he?s dealt with strikes before. Jason points out that it?s not a strike, it?s a slowdown and that means the union is willing to deal. AJ asks for a list of Jason?s demands.

Jason points out that he is not the union rep and gives AJ the rep?s name. AJ says he hasn?t heard from the rep. Jason asks if he got the union wish list four months ago. AJ says it was a fantasy list. Jason explains how it works, circle the ones you can live with, cross out the ones you can?t, the rest you revise, it?s called negotiation. Edward asks to see the settlement Jason and Sonny came up with; Jason agrees. Ed tells AJ to call the rep and tell him that ELQ is willing to come up with a settlement similar to Jason and Sonny?s. AJ leaves. Edward tries to use Michael to get Jason to be more involved in ELQ. Jason calls his bluff, so Edward tries using Carly. Jason tells him off and leaves.

Liz gets into trouble at Jake's when the man she's flirting with forces her to dance and tries to force her outside. Jason comes to the rescue and Liz rejects his help. He realizes she is hurting and gets her to open up about her feelings. She talks about wanting Lucky's baby and how she could have had it, if she hadn't been so scared. Jason tells her he lives in nothingness too and they seem to bond. She really misses Lucky. Her grief is showing, and it looks like it's deep. Jason is really sweet and just listens and encourages her without being patronizing. She reminisces about their entire history and how much she misses him. She also realizes that she has a lot of people who care about her. After she's all talked out, Jason takes her for a ride on his motorcycle. She is clearly having a ball, enjoying the speed. They share an interesting look as he drops her home.

Liz and Jason end up talking again and he tells her what it was like to be a father. She tells him she would like to see him with his son but he says he doesn't see him anymore. Liz says well at least you can hear about him and see him from a distance and maybe someday, you know.

Jason tells Juan Emily's message and Juan asks if he can write her, Jason says probably not. They talk about the wrong impression Monica has of him, and that Emily can only call Jason. Juan asks him to tell her that he'll be waiting for her.

Benny comes to see Jason and Sonny but only Jason is there. Benny tells him that he sees Sonny is distracted like he was after his wife died and that Jason is taking charge, just like he did then. Jason tells him that he is going to believe that he is the only person Benny would ever say what he just said to, and if he hears he has been talking to anyone else he will pay him a visit and he will not be reasonable. Sonny comes back and gets a bit upset that Jason did the meeting without him. Jason said Benny had another meeting and he told him what to do. Sonny is a bit put out. Jason tells him that he ask him a long time ago, when he was with Brenda, that if he ever saw him making bad decisions to tell him. Sonny says well it looks like he did his duty as a friend. Sonny tells him he loves Jason and thinks of him as a brother, but that does not give Jason the right to run his business or his life.

Carly tells Jason that she is looking for Sonny to tell him something, he lets her in and says she better tell him and starts naming names as to who it is about. Carly said it is not one of the guys but Hannah, and then tells him what she saw and heard. Sonny comes to see Hannah and is told she got another visit from her "ex". She gives him the story and then says that Carly saw them and it is a wonder she did not run right over and tell him. He asks her if she would be telling him this if Carly didn't see them, she answers him yes and they kiss.

Carly says she has "caught" Hannah in the act. She saw the little tramp in the alley whispering into her ex-boyfriend's ear that he was going to spoil everything. Carly tells Jason that she is sure it was the same guy that Sonny threw through the window at Kelly's. She gleefully tells Jason that she is right and he knows it. She wants to know what he is going to do about it.

Jason tells Carly that she heard a conversation between two people in an alley. Carly asks if Hannah puts a drug in the pasta to keep Jason and Sonny from hearing the lies. Carly laughs and says that if Jason won't tell Sonny that his girlfriend is a cheating slut, than she will just do it herself. As she starts to walk away, Jason gently grabs her arm and pulls her back. He asks Carly why she is so suddenly interested in Sonny and Hannah. Carly says that she knows Sonny better now and way deep down he is a decent guy. He deserves better than Hannah. Jason says that she cannot throw herself between Sonny and anyone, especially a woman. He tells Carly to leave it alone.

Carly is sure that Hannah has a hidden agenda. She thinks that something is way off. Jason says that he isn't in charge of Sonny's love life, but he admits that he does have some concerns. What he thinks doesn't matter though. Carly can't believe that Jason isn't suspicious. Jason tells Carly that what he does and what he thinks isn't her concern. She should be thinking about her life with AJ and Michael and not worrying about Hannah. Appearing to accept that nothing can be done about Hannah, Carly leaves saying that at least she tried. Once outside of the apartment, Carly stops and says to herself that if she wants something done right, she has to do it herself.

At the Port Charles Grille, the FBI arrests Sonny for RECO (a term implying organized crime). Jason telephones Benny and instructs him to clean up the office. Alexis questions Jason for details. When Jason requests that Alexis defend Sonny, Jax becomes very angry. Despite his ranting about the evils of Sonny, Alexis agrees to meet with Jason and Sonny at the police department.

At the PCPD, Carly is going off on Hannah, saying that it is Hannah's fault that Sonny got arrested. She pushes and gets in Hannah's face and Hannah pushes back and gets the better push. Sonny wants Hannah to go but she will not leave without him. Jason talks to Hannah, she says she can handle the Feds, he says no she can't she has to be careful as to what she says or she could be the reason that Sonny lands in prison. The Feds tell Jason that they want to see his tax papers and talk to him in the morning.

Liz and Jason shared mutual concerns.

Jason and Juan are sitting in Kelly's Jason is telling Juan about Sonny getting arrested and in jail. Juan can't figure out why Sonny would worry about how he found out. Hannah comes over and is upset, Juan asks her why is she picking a fight with everyone and she responds you know how it feels now. Juan still cannot understand why Sonny sent Jason to tell him. Jason explains that is how Sonny is, he treats everyone with respect even if they don't deserve it.

Jason also comes to visit Sonny and tells him that everything is in its place that the Feds can't have anything. Sonny confides that he's going nuts in there and needs to get out. Jason met with Carly and she tells him that Hannah had a gun. He begs her to drop it, and she says that she heard him with a funny smile on her face.

At the PCPD, Jason assures Sonny that Benny has taken care of things and that the books are clear. When Jason doubts Hannah, Sonny maintains that Carly is not a reliable source of information. Sonny then expresses his confidence that bail will be posted in the morning and that he will be able to leave the police station.

Carly confronts Hannah in front of Kelly?s, calling her a slut and provoking her. Hannah starts to shove her, and Jason walks up. Jason tells her to leave Carly alone and totally takes Carly?s side. Carly complains that everything she touches gets ruined. Jason tries to comfort her. Carly and Jason talk about how Carly doesn?t really tell or show Bobbie how much she loves her. They rehash that Carly thinks Jason shouldn?t trust Hannah. Later, Jason and Sonny talk about Brenda.

Luke asks Jason to come clean about Sonny and tell him what is going on, because he don't want to go down with him. Jason says he can't, and that they will no more in court tomorrow. Sonny will be okay as long as the FBI don't come up with anything more. Then Luke begs Jason to get out while he can, and not go down with Sonny. Jason refuses and says that he is standing by his best friend no matter what the consequences may be.

AJ took Carly to the docks to show her a new crane he bought for ELQ. Carly pretended to be so proud that AJ is being such a great CEO. In return AJ gave Carly a necklace for being such a wonderful and supporting wife, he told her he wouldn't be able to do this without her and Michael. While Jason sat in the background and heard everything. Carly went up to Jason and told him how she is being such a good wife, and trying to be supportive, but she thinks everything is just stupid (his crane). They talked about Sonny and if Jason is going to get in trouble, and she said that he could blame everything on her (because she is legally insane) and that she would do anything to defend him. Then she told him how much she misses him and how much Michael misses his "REAL" father, and Jason asked her not to say stuff like that and she said that she is only speaking the truth. Then she gave Jason a picture of her and Michael in the garden.

Carly and Hannah mix it up again outside of Kelly's, Hannah telling her to stay away and Carly calling her names. Jason comes along and breaks it up. Carly rehashes that she knows this girl is trouble since the day her and her come hither lashes came to Port Charles. She begs Jason to let her help him if he gets arrested. She would lie or do anything for him, even be a character witness. Jason tells her that he will ask for her help if she stays away from the hearing today. She agrees.

At the penthouse, Jason insists that Sonny needs to be extra careful. When Jason urges Sonny to cool off with the business for awhile, Sonny refuses to do so. Carly meets up with Jason on the docks. She gives her spiel about how she wants to protect Sonny and Jason could break in and get that strongbox. He says he won't do it and it's no good warning someone off of someone they love. Everyone told him he was crazy to get involved with Carly, but he didn't listen. She gets in close and caresses his face saying,"We showed them didn't we?" and Chloe walks by, seeing them. They pretend it was about old schedules for Michael's daddy time and Carly asks her not to mention to A.J. that she saw them together.

Mike had gone to see Sonny and asks Jason if he would be happy to see him. They talk about Sonny and why Mike didn't come in when Sonny had locked himself in. Mike tells him why Sonny doesn't like to be around him because he saved his life from that car explosion. Jason says Sonny doesn't want to be dead all the time. Mike leaves saying he'll skip getting thrown out by Sonny today because that will give him something to look forward to.

Sonny and Jason on the docks. Jason warns Sonny to watch out for Luke's mood, because Luke is really pissed about the IRS thing. Alexis comes up to meet with her client, and Jason leaves.

The phone rings and Liz answers. It's Emily, in a hat and dark glasses at the airport, taking off on her illicit trip to Puerto Rico. Liz frets a little and tells Emily to call her when she gets there. Emily, still at the airport, is approached by Jason. She yells at him a bunch about how he can't stop her from going. He lets her act like an idiot for awhile before he points out Juan (and Liz) standing across the room. She runs over for a giddy embrace. Juan reprimands Emily, "Don't you know there are crazy people on planes?" He says if she'd come to his house looking like this, he'd have had to run away anyway. She says it was a disguise, "I didn't want to look too beautiful." He says, "Guess what? You failed,"and they smooch some more.

Liz says to Jason, "You look like you just ate something really rank."
"Why did she have to pick him?" Jason asks, and I just have to say that this is a really weak way of getting Liz and Jason into the same scene and conversation. Liz defends Juan, Jason chides Liz for helping Emily run away to PR. Liz points out that if Jason were really all that mad he would have called Monica, instead of telling Liz and Juan to jump in the coffee truck and driving them to the airport. Em and Juan come over and thank Jason for the ride, and then Emily demonstrates unbelievable gall by asking Jason if Juan can stay with him (he needs, she says, "a safehouse"; Jason appropriately asks, "A what?").

Jason points out that Juan's father is Juan's problem. Juan is belligerent to Jason. Jason says he and Juan will have no problems unless Juan makes trouble for Emily. Liz says Juan can stay in her extra bedroom tonight, since her grandmother is out of town. Jason goes to get the truck and Em tells Liz to go with him: "He listens to you." Liz is astonished: "He does?" Emily says, "Well, maybe he doesn't listen to you, but he likes you." Liz says okay and goes after Jason. Later outside of Kelly?s, Jason and Liz say their goodbyes.

At the penthouse, Sonny tells Jason to arrange a transfer of funds from the keys because they are low on operating capitol. Jason thinks that they should wait until things cool down with the FBI, but Sonny insists that it is business as usual. Jason is not happy when Sonny tells him that Hannah is upstairs. He clearly thinks that it is a bad idea for them to be discussing "business" with her around, even if she isn't in the same room.

Sonny he is furious with Carly for chasing Hannah away. He tells Carly that she is a sick tramp. This makes Carly mad and they start to argue. Sonny roughly grabs Carly's arm and she demands that he let her go. They are screaming at each other as Jason rushes in and pulls Sonny away from Carly. Sonny screams at Carly. Jason leaps to Carly's defense and demands to know why Sonny thinks that he can treat his friend in such a manner. Sonny is furious that Carly accused Hannah of lying to him and argues vociferously with Jason until Carly interrupts to say that Hannah isn't worth all of the shouting. Sonny smugly retorts that Carly isn't worth the effort and then he angrily departs. When Carly tries to convince Jason that she is right about Hannah, Jason maintains that it is not her place to accuse the woman that Sonny loves of wrongdoing. He is very angry and does not believe her apology. Jason then warns Carly not to make him choose between her and Sonny because it would be a big mistake.

Jason is at Kelly's. Liz thanks him for the ride home yesterday. She sits and they talk about her taking art classes and is nervous about starting college. Lucky was always her encouragement and she is not sure how she is going to do without him. They talk about what they had/have as career goals and she leaves feeling better with his order. Mike comes by and gets the same version about what happened that Sonny told him. But then Jason tells him that he is afraid that Hannah is bad for Sonny, he is making mistakes because his mind is not on his work. Sonny is telling Hannah things that he would never even tell Brenda.

Jason and Sonny talk, Jason voices his concerns about Hannah and how Sonny is missing things. Sonny asks if Jason thinks he can run things better than him. Jason tells him that he wants to work for Sonny, he would follow any order even if he thought it was wrong, he would die for him, but it should not get that far. Sonny has to pay attention. Sonny doesn't see anything wrong, every time he has made a mistake Jason has caught it and fixed it.

Sonny is not happy to learn from Jason that Jerry Jax is doing business with Moreno. Jason says that he saw Sorrel making a cash deposit at Jerry's bank. Sonny is outraged that Sorrel is alive and well. Benny promised him that he had taken care of him. Sonny tells Jason that Juan and Emily are the only two people who can identify Sorrel as the guy who beat up Juan. Jason says that he know and wants to know what he should do about it. Sonny says that they can't do much while he is under Federal investigation. He doesn't want a turf war. Jason says that doing nothing is not an option if Emily is in danger. Sonny assures Jason that Emily is safe. Sorrel knows that Emily has kept quite so far and that she is under Sonny's protection. Sonny then asks to see the proof Jason has regarding Jerry Jax. Jason produces several documents and shows them to Sonny. Sonny looks them over and says that they are even good enough to convince Jax. Jason asks Sonny why he would give them to Jax.

Jason can't believe that Sonny is going to give Jax proof that Jerry is in cahoots with Moreno. Jax hates his guts. He will use anything he can against him. Sonny explains to Jason that he owes Alexis. She didn't want him as a client and she took him on against her husband's wishes. Alexis has come through for him and all she wants in return in information on Jerry Jax's activities. He tells Jason that the information has to be delivered to Alexis tonight. Before they can talk further, Hannah arrives. She comes in carrying a bag of freshly picked apples. She greets Jason warmly and he nods in response.

Carly is in disguise in San Diego and is trying to track down Hannah's ex-boyfriend. She is somewhat surprised to learn that he no longer works at the University in San Diego. Carly pumps the records clerk for more information. He is surprisingly helpful and checks the department website. He tells Carly that Professor Bradburn is on sabbatical and unreachable, but suggests that she check with the department. Hannah charms the clerk out of a yearbook saying that it will help her recognize the people she is looking for.

Hannah tries to draw Jason into a conversation, but he responds with short answers. He walks away and tells Sonny that he will take care of his errand. As Jason starts to leave, Hannah asks him if there is something wrong. They used to be friends and now every time she walks into a room, he walks out. She wants to know if it is something she did. When Jason says no, she asks if Carly did something to turn him against her.

Hannah tells Jason that it doesn't surprise her that Carly would try to turn him against her. Jason tells Hannah that if he gets quiet when she walks in, it is simply because there are some things that she is just better off not knowing. With that, he excuses himself to run the errand for Sonny.

Carly eagerly flips through the college yearbook and finds Hannah's photo. She then quickly turns to a photo of Professor Bradburn. She is shocked to discover that the real Professor Bradburn looks nothing like Hannah's "ex-boyfriend". Carly discreetly tears the professor's
photo out of the yearbook and stashes it in her purse. She thanks the records clerk for his help and leaves.

Jason arrives at Jax's penthouse and asks for Alexis. Alexis asks Jason why he is there and Jason explains that Sonny sent him. Alexis is somewhat surprised that Sonny told Jason about investigating Jerry. Jason explains that Sonny sent him to find out what Jax needed to know because Sonny can't leave the country. Jax asks what Jason found out. Jason says that Jerry is still laundering money for the Organization.

Jason arrives at the Quartermaine mansion after receiving a pleading phone call from his sister. Emily tells her brother that she and Juan saw Sorel on the docks earlier in the day. Despite Juan's insolent manner, Jason promises to take care of the situation. He then tells the two teenagers not to leave the mansion until further instructed.

Carly arrives in Port Charles with proof that Hannah's "ex-boyfriend" is not who he claims to be. When Jason enters the house from the patio but he departs before Carly has an opportunity to show him the yearbook photograph of Professor Bradburn. Carly later runs into Jason spilling a glass of water on him, she tries to show him the proof she has on Hannah but he will have none of it.

Jason comes by and Hannah asks him again what is the matter, he tells her nothing he just has to talk to Sonny. She leaves and Jason tells him that Emily and Juan saw Sorrel on the docks.

Jason is talking to Bobbie and notices she made an error in her bookwork, she tells him it is understandable today would have been BJ's thirteen birthday. She gets him a coffee and he does her bookwork. Bobbie tells him how much Monica and Alan used to brag about him going to be such a good doctor, but they never said how good he was with numbers, likely so his grandfather wouldn't put him to work.  Jason leaves and on the docks he stops to watch AJ and Michael.

AJ is showing Michael the crane he brought for ELQ. He tells him that one day ELQ will be his and that Carly will realize that she loves him more than anyone else and they will be the family they deserve. They leave and Jason runs to pick up Michael's hat that got left behind. Liz has been watching Jason and can see his pain. They talk about their past and about Robin. Then they go for a bike drive.

Jason rushes into Sonny's penthouse. Sonny is surprised to see him dressed in casual clothes. Jason shows Sonny the diamonds that he found in the warehouse. He thinks that Moreno planted the diamonds to try and frame Sonny. Sonny doesn't think that Moreno would spend that much just to frame him. As they continue to discuss the diamonds, Alexis arrives. She tells Sonny that there has been a new development. Alexis is delighted to inform Sonny and Jason that the FBI apparently was bluffing. Whatever they had or thought they had must have changed because the charges against Sonny have been dropped. Sonny is delighted! Alexis does caution Jason and Sonny that the FBI still has whatever they had before and that they will continue to dig. She also agrees to continue to represent Jason and Sonny. Once Alexis is gone, Sonny calls Luke and demands to see him right now.
Sonny looks at the diamonds and says that Luke had better have a damn good explanation. The least he could have done was warn them. Jason points out that they might owe Luke a warning about Jerry's mob dealings since he is about to marry Luke's sister. Bobbie and Lucas don't deserve to be mixed up with the mob. Luke arrives angrily brushing aside the guard at the door. He demands to know why Sonny summoned him. Sonny shows him the diamond and asks if it looks familiar. Luke admits that he stashed the diamonds in the warehouse.

Sonny calmly explains to Luke that if the FBI found the diamonds in the warehouse, things could have looked pretty bad. He asks Luke if maybe he could have come up with a better place to hide the diamonds. Luke explains that Faison is looking for the diamonds and he knew that Faison would not look for them in Sonny's warehouse. He tells Sonny that if it is a problem, he will move the diamonds. Jason tells Luke that he already moved the diamonds. He can't tell him where, but he can take him there. Sonny assures Luke that the diamonds will be safe where they are. Luke thanks them, but says that he will just keep them out of it. Jason says that he will take Luke to the diamonds immediately. Sonny cautions Luke that keeping the diamonds from Faison can only make things worse. Luke says that he knows, but says that this thing with Faison is kind of a grudge match. He wishes Sonny luck when he hears that the charges have been dropped.

Carly comes upon Hannah and Larkin meeting on the docks, and strains to listen in on their conversation.
